Good morning/afternoon glassies. I'm so busy trying to get so much done before next week. Just popping in for a sec.
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... hope you get a new computer soon. Sounds like yours is just about dead. The jerky/tender dog treats have been all in the news and was just watching it this morning. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/tainted-dog-jerky-treats-linked-hundreds-pet-deaths-fda-article-1.1493818

Good afternoon everyone. A DDG sunny day. Temps are back to normal. Acvtually it was a little nippy early this morning.
Sister and I did a couple of garage sales this morning before going out to breakfast. No glass treasures to report .I bought some vintage tools.
Reen @reen Thanks I did have fun. Always fun to catch up with a few friends over a few beers
Wendy @wjweese Air Con really upsets my sinuses. So I have to toss about which to choose being hot or having headaches
Marson @panishklo Glad you are back 😀
Curt @webmaster thank you for the map
Don @donscns I am heading over to the map now and will attempt to add myself there

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... so good to see you stopping in. Glad the new meds may be helping the neuropathy.
@jmart8248 IRENE M ... I, too, continue to have off and on troubles with logging in. Curt's been working with the techies to try to get it working smoothly. He's asked us to keep him posted on any difficulties we might have.
@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Seems it's always been JULIE and FRAN who have tried to maintain contact with MaryPat. I remember at one time they both had trouble trying to get in touch with her. Seems her DH health was really poor and she was doing poorly too.

@wellingtonct Can't believe you had all that done at the Vet and that was all you paid. Scaled teeth too! amazing. We love our Vet....but pay much more than that.

Good morning, glassies. Been busy as this week I have to make my round to the malls so I've been tagging stuff. I also need to get some things listed but I just haven't had enough time to do so. I'm working on a project to crochet blankets for my grandchildren. I'm VERY slow at crocheting. I've spent hours upon hours each day this week and still am only a third of the way through the first blanket. I do love to crochet though.
@glassusa BOB ... how in the world do you get so lucky to come across a pair of everglades. I've never even seen them in person, only in books. They are gorgeous.
@jmart8248 IRENE M ... How beautiful all the flowers must be and it really sounds grand that you have a porch where you can relax and enjoy them.
@sjell BETTY ... always enjoy seeing you check into the Chat.
@panishklo MARSON ... thanks for all the chocolate! I surely enjoy it! 🙂
@mainewildrose SUE ... so glad you were able to ID the Heisey for Diane. I'm at a loss when it comes to what I call the Colonial patterns. I printed out what you posted. Thanks!
@wattleihavenext JULIE ... glad your weather is turning so nice and your swap meets will be starting up again. Always enjoy your adventures with traveling and your markets.
@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... It was my little East Coast Washington D.C. granddaughter who broke her arm. As you can tell in the picture, she was very proud of her new bright pink cast...the doctor let her pick the color. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/665407292_o.jpg
@dianes DIANE … that is a lovely Three Panel berry set…yes, by Richards & Hartley #25, ca. 1885...and it has NOT been reproduced. Haven’t had time to check your CHS.
@fyrqueen KATIE … you just wear me out with all your yard work and work about the house. Picking up a rag to wipe dust off the piano is a big deal for me.
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... would love to see pics of your green pitcher and your milk glass "thing". 🙂 Glad your snow is melting.
@george GEORGE ... hope you and your DW are doing well.
@donscns DON ... will you have a summer break before long? Or do you also have summer classes for your wee souls?
More coffee needed. I will take a photo later and show you all the blanket that is taking up all my time...whether you want to see it or not. 😀

Good morning, glassies. Had almost no sleep last night. Allergies kept me coughing through the entire night. Certainly will have an antihistamine this evening before I go to bed. I have a feeling that a nap or naps are on the agenda today. 🙂
@suzy SUZY … Hoping maybe sometime in May to get down to Jenks. Look forward to seeing your new booth.
@wellingtonct LAURIE … Hi, there. Think you may have me confused with JULIE/wattleihavenext regarding the tiny pics. She was having trouble with it loading and had some way to shorten the time. I’m sure she will try your system too.
@shanigirl RUTH … I have 5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. Grandkids are just the greatest. Too sad that I live so far
away from them and seldom see them.HI to CARL and DON!

Good Morning everyone. a little chilly here with drizzling rain.
Laurie @wellingtonct I am always having trouble getting tinypics to load. All that other "stuff" on the page with the pic slows it right down for me and can get very frustrating at times. There is one way to bypass all that and that is to NOT use the direct link URL they give you. If you place your mouse over the pic and right click, from the drop down menu click on copying image URL and then paste That way the only think that loads is the actual pic. I am still waiting for Fentons pics to load , the whole time I have been typing this message. SO very slow

@sellingthings MARTY … I’m not quite certain what you mean when you say you want an ID. It is as you said …Daisy and Button, Degenhart , probably 1970s. All the new vaseline…Degenhart, Boyd, Mosser glows like crazy. Shown on page 77 of TAGF’s Degenhart Glass and Paperweights. BV in 2003 for Vaseline was $12/15.
@wattleihavenext JULIE … The Steamfest sounds like great fun and very interesting. Do you attend?
@wellingtonct LAURIE … Good to see you. Hope all is well.
@dianes DIANE … Oh, I wish I could help you as that is just a gorgeous vase, but I haven’t a clue.
@carma CARL … glad to know it might be the internet and not my computer. I finally shut the computer off and went out and ran errands. Finally got back on and got my items listed.

@wellingtonct Hi - hope you are feeling well now. The crystal block you mentioned sounds like a solifleur vase made mostly, but not exclusively, by Scandinavian and German glassmakers. In perfect condition $4 is a fabulous price. Every one we have ever had in the shop has sold with no trouble.
Wonderful day yesterday with DD(lunch and shopping) and darling 4 yr old DGD.
CARL- glad you are feeling better. This has been a winter full of "bugs" around here. Enough is enough. Most annoying are perky weather "meteorologists" on TV .
Have a good one all. I must go and get something done. Nancyjean
Lots of catching up to do today.

@wellingtonct: The crock you described sounds like Robinson Ransbottom Pottery (RRPCO), from Roseville Ohio. It's often confused with Roseville Pottery, which was not made in Roseville Ohio, but in Zanesville Ohio.

Good Morning everyone. It's going to be hot today, along with humidity. Have the last minute food shopping for Xmas to do That I am going to do first thing this morning before the shops get too busy.
The Nursing Home Mum is staying in is very nice and the staff that I met all seem very caring lovely ppl.
Don @donscns Hope it arrives safely I am sure you have given Noah good instructions to make sure it does
Laurie @wellingtonct Nice to "see" you
MM @maryr I always send an email to the buyer letting them know I have posted their parcel and in that email I ask them to please let me know when it arrives and if they are happy with their purchase. Email me immediately if there are any problems.I send all my parcels with tracking number so I do know when the items arrived but I want to know if there are any issues.
It does frustrate me when I hear nothing. I give them a week and if I have not heard from them, then I guess that they must be happy with the buy.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAR @charper99 -
@wellingtonct LAURIE … so good to see you checking in. Sorry things have been so difficult for you as of late. Hope you have a uneventful drive Illinois and are able to get relief from the chiro.

Good afternoon everyone. We have our Spring weather back again. But by jingies that wind was icey yesterday. And there was reports of some areas getting snow. Last time it snowed in those areas, in October ,was 100 years ago.
Shelly @shellyrae37 sadly to say the prediction for our summer this year is that it is going to be a very hot and dry summer. We did have some hot days last week temps up to 35 Celsius, which is hot for Spring. And the Bushfires have already started. Total fire bans have been issued to a lot of areas.
Carl@carma Same report down here October 12th , it was snowing in places down here too.

Good evening Glass Friends,
Had worked on Fixed Price listing much of today. Then much later I worked on deleting images form Auctiva. Can't always find them when I know they must be there.
Later we went to a birthday party for a great grandson. Eleven year old boys have lots of energy. But a very pleasant dozen or so youngsters. And had a pleasant visit with family members that i jhad not seen in a few weeks.
@wellingtonct -- Laurie, It is about time you showed up. Nice to know that you are still navigating. Well she showed up on the Book Board.
@gailmacphee Gail Mac, Maybe the colored tickets will encourage dealers to move their stuff around from one mall to another.
Still it is fun to reminisce about what 'used to' sell---- hickory and oak furniture and even a spot there when mahogany furniture sold well. I really have no idea what kind of furniture is selling now. And then there was two of my favorites ---granite ware and teddy bears,
Time for my bed and book. I'm really ready for it tonight.

Julie @wattleihavenext Thanks for thinking about the signature in the book. Just thought that sometimes we are more aware of important persons in our own countries. It probably is a former owner's name.
@wellingtonct Laurie, It seems that each person who has the 1901 copy says theirs is a 1st Edition. One seller claims to have green full leather board and says that his is a 1st. Another says green cloth and that his is a 1st. My copy happens to be black half leather with green floral paper. I don't know. I marked mine "First Edition ?" The publisher is not listed in my Bill McBride First Editions so I have nothing to go on except what other sellers are claiming. I think the best part of mine is that it is in such good condition. The leather is worn but that paper is still almost glossy.
We'll see. But thanks for researching it.

This newest eBay/PayPal twist as really had me up in arms this past week. http://www.ecommercebytes.com/C/blog/blog.pl?/pl/2012/6/1339730358.html I'm just so frustrated and eBay is changing so much in a direction that just doesn't seem to be compatible with how I wish to sell on-line. Well, of course, I'm still selling on eBay, but I went ahead today and opened at store on Webstore.com. Probably will get no traffic or sales, but still just felt I HAD to start thinking outside of eBay.
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... sure hope things start settling down for you soon.

@wellingtonct Laurie - that one has a clear bottom / mine has a textured bottom but everything I've seen leads me to a WAG of Fry reamer ID pre-WWII. That's how I'll list it ! Thanks for the links !

Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Trying very hard to get some new items listed. Also have to go to the local mall and restock my booth this afternoon.
@charper99 CHAR ... thanks for the heads-up on Curt's birthday. Will bake a cake in just a minute! 😀
@amber1986 AMBER ... I live in a relatively small town, pop. 6,400. But most towns are at least 15-20 miles away and always wide-open space between. I do love Oklahoma.
@ohiostar FENTON ... absolutely gorgeous glass! Congratulations on such lovely finds!

@panishklo MARSON and @wellingtonct LAURIE ... Actually I think the tail is ok the way it is. But I'm sure wondering if it came from China. That long neck gives it a goosey look, but I still see a lot like this called ducks. Here's a search for Murano Seguso Duck... We all know how wrong IDs on eBay can be though.

@wellingtonct Laurie wow you learn something new every day! I did NOT know how to enlarge a pic like that, but now, thanks to you, I do! Thanks for that info!
And Hello all!
@abzoid Toby, I enjoyed those pics of your fabulous blue collection. The last ones of the overflow, looks like you have possibly a glowy vaseline glass plate in there? And those lovely pink glasses/stems? Welllll I have to say that they really don't go well with the blue so I think you should just send them to me as I collect ALL colors and I'm sure I can squeeze those in somewhere here 😉

Wow, this turned out to be a longer day than could have imagine...and hot too. Nearly 90°. Thinking of you, JULIE, and how it's time for you to bring out the blankets and I'm putting mine all up.
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... gad, I'd slit my wrist if I had to go to that much trouble to get a vehicle. Glad I only need a little ole grandma auto to putz around with. Good news that you found one you are pleased with. Hope it continues to work well for you.
I'm so tired I'm going to go collapse on the bed. Good night to all.

@wellingtonct that is one heck of a goose egg! It hurts just looking at it. I hope you heal quickly.
For my NPB - 4 are on my other selling id for jewels, the other 3 are the same person that has several id's (that I know of) and buys like crazy and pays for a few but not the others. I talked to ebay this morning about her - they are aware of what she does but she is still able to buy. - told me that I am doing the right thing by filing a NPB report. I just find it frustrating that I have to wait 8 days before I can re-list and get my fees back. It must be a sickness I guess that you buys lots but pay for little. I sell on Ruby Lane and never have problems like this (touch wood) so I'm thankful for that.
Crazy weather up here, calling for snow tonight - I really need warm weather.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... really sorry for the poor prognosis for your BIL. I know your sister will really be glad to have your support.

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... here in the States we tend to differentiate between yellow glass that glows green (Vaseline) and green glass that glows green (Uranium Green or Depression Green) This is very simplistic and not written in stone.

@wellingtonct: Do yourself a favor. Go to Walmart or Staples and buy a flat screen monitor for under $150.00. They are dirt cheap right now at most stores. Sounds like you are having a Tube failure and it will most likely cost a ton to repair and it is not worth it. You could also try the loaner to make certain that the video is working on your computer. You don't have to move anything. Shut the computer off, unhook the monitor cable and connect the other monitor. Boot it up and see if it works. at least it would eliminate any other problems and isolate the monitor, assuming the loaner is OK. JimD

@wellingtonct - I meant I'd love a yard sale online where I could buy treasures at junk prices!!! We do have some yard sales even in winter but they're in the garage usually and slim pickins. I'm not into Facebook, Twitter and the like. And my newspapers are made of paper as are my books. And I cannot and will not text and don't know how to burn a CD or DVD without a match. @AMBER: No, I didn't invest yet - I think it's $75 for the doll, hammer and book you need to learn the patterns. I just sat there as did half dozen others and sucked it all in! There were about 12 people tapping except when it was there turn for us to focus on. Tom Tam who developed this Tong Ren therapy is becoming world-renowned and any given day there are 100 groups around the world doing this crazy stuff. I enjoyed it, but I really got the best benefit from the acupuncture. I think! Maybe I took as much benefit from the tapping. I'm going to invest ultimately and try to do some remote things on daughter as well attend these healing get togethers now and then.
@wellingtonct If you're interested in the tapping, google it and find the list of sessions that are broadcast over the internet every week. If there's one that sounds appropriate you could tune in and see how you feel about it. That's another free source of help! Go to TomTamTV.com.

@wellingtonct LAURIE: Yes, I have to give up some other health treatments for a while to do acupuncture at $70/wk for a month, then every other week for 2 mos. then just whenever I feel I need it. BUT everyone I've spoken to who tried it had some relief or better. Whether it's cancer, Lyme, thyroid, injuries, muscular disease, allergy, etc. they see some relief. But I hear you about the cash. I need brakes on the car, an electrician to fix some outlets so I don't have ext. cords going everywhere and I need new glasses and here I'm spending money on something that MIGHT help. Ah, well. The healing energy II'm sending is free, though!! I've now done it twice... will continue periodically thru the day.
As for stew, YES, gluten free as it's only veggies, spices, herbs, chicken, chicken stock, coconut milk, and a mess of fresh basil leaves. I serve it with almond crackers (gluten free, by Blue Diamond!) I think everything is better with lots of spice/herbs. I even put lots of ground cinnamon in the veggie drink to make it go down easier. And they're all anti-oxidants so good for us.
If it weren't for homemade soups and juicing the veggies, I'd probably eat a lot of 'tsk tsk' food. In fact, right now I'm craving hot dogs (greezy ones burnt on the grille) and a chocolate shake. But, I'm having hummus and celery. Ho hum.
FEEL GOOD! Janice -

At present it is 14Celsius and suppose to reach 31Celsius . Nice and pleasant by the sounds of it, till you read that the Relative Humidity is 85%.

Reen @reen Good Luck with the show.
Laurie @wellingtonct Here you can buy the coleslaw vegs all chopped, sliced and packaged in one bag, All you need do is add the sauce. maybe that is a way for you to go, if you would like to try the Asian Coleslaw. And I agree with Reen , give Meals on Wheels a call. Living on Yoghurt and jam surely would not be helping.

well I have just finished my lunch and I can recommend the Asian Coleslaw.
Laurie @wellingtonct & Gail @songbreeze there was not really all that much involved in making the coleslaw and well worth any effort put in. You could always buy the packet of fresh coleslaw already diced and sliced from the supermarket if you wanted to make it easier. The tinned chestnuts you can buy already chopped and minced garlic is available in a jar . I used all fesh and did the chopping and dicing myself. Didn't take long at all.It was all done by the time the chicken breast was cooked.
Marty @sellingthings Congratulations on your sales -
@wellingtonct LAURIE … ROTFLOL! Those were my exact sentiments when I read the recipe! All I could think of was how long I would be standing up cutting, chopping, dicing, stirring….. I was exhausted!
-
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... I've always enjoyed the Westminster show but I no longer have cable/satellite so I don't get that channel.
Got a whole lot of pictures taken today, but then lacked the oompf to actually write up a listing.
Headed for Chouteau tomorrow to meet up with Suzy and to do some treasure hunting.

Good evening Glass Friends--- My what an interesting board today. That Wisteria bowl is absolutely stunning!!!
Thank you Chatsworth for joining this board. And thanks to jimrock for bring you here. All I can do is watch and maybe absorb some of the information.
Hi Wellie @wellingtonct . Good that you are making progress on getting around in your kitchen. My kitchen is pretty clear but other rooms are totally out of control.
After those beautiful things I hope someone can tell what these lowly things are called.

Hi All,
All this talk about things and values, what I have done is list them in Excel, started with 1 and don't remember what number I am at. But if I get something worth more then $50.00 I put a small removable sticker on the bottom with a number and then put all the particulars in excel, I also have a hard copy and a disk as back up for my computer. So that way there no problem if something happens if they pick up an item and it has a sticker it means it has value and to look up the number. I also numbered a few of the family items with its history. Just remember to update you values from time to time.
@10bbg10 Helen - I use this Please contact before purchasing for other forms of acceptable payments not listed above. So far so good with it.
@wellingtonct Laurie - That is a good reference site for items but they don't have everything. I personally love my books. I have picked most of them up on EBay/half.com/amazon for dirt cheap prices since people are giving them up.
@fryqueen - You can find them it just is going to cost you between 30 - 50 unless you get lucky and find someone who doesn't know anything.
@shellyrae37 - hope you get to feeling better. I have been on both ends of an auction where in the last seconds there is a furry of bids. I still like it to end when it ends, that is what makes it an auction.
@songbreeze Gail - I to also enjoyed the coffee even though I don't drink it. Have fun on your road trip.
-
@wattleihavenext JULIE ... LOL. maybe eBay isn't the only site having gremlins today. Don't know how excenilig...whoever or whatever that may be...wound up on the Birthday box. 🙂
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... Glad to see you checking in. Sorry you are still having such trouble with your vehicle.

Good morning glassies,
Up early. Couldn't sleep. Maybe Santa awakened me while out on his practice run. Going out to get the paper now . Probably will have a nice early morning nap in the Lazy Boy.
In doing some eBay research I found a seller in Denver Co who has over 34,000 feedback.
@wellingtonct Maybe you will see this while at your mom's place. Hope that dark cloud moves on --- and very soon. -

Good evening Glassie Friends,
We had a busy day here. Early morning appointment with my doctor. Results from X-ray show some congestion in my lungs but no infection. Doc says probably some remains of acid reflux.
DH had similar---- congestion from cold but no infection.Household helper was here for 5-6 hours. She helped me clean , price, pack and deliver inventory to mall shop. Then she helped DH put the lawn mower away in a barn storage . And put the seats back in the van.One of the DGDs had used the van to move some furniture.
@wellingtonct Sure hope that black cloud has moved on. Scary situation. I had an experience similar to @sellingthings / Marty. Only mine was meeting a trailer that had come loose from the hitch. It was maybe 200 feet in front of me and coming head on on a 2 way street. Fortunately, it was a small trailer and empty . It hit a bump and moved off up a slight incline on my right. That slowed it and then it turned over on the hill side incline. I moved on up the street before I stopped to breath deep and give thanks for that escape.
@baabaamason As others have said. That set "is to die for". OTOH , I probably would never have the gumption to pay the price is is probably going to bring.
-
@fyrqueen KATIE ... sure glad to hear that's not a detached retina! Sorry, I haven't any idea who made your butter lid.
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... I'd say after a long day like that, it's time to go take a soak in a huge hot bubblebath! I'd be pampering myself big time if I suffered through all that.

@wellingtonct /Laurie - Woe is he/she who tows ! I remember coming back from camping several years back towing an old, heavy pop-up camper. Traveling along I-76 @ 60+ mph when bang, I look in side view mirror & see my camper axle cartwheeling along the Interstate beside me. Believe it or not, got vehicle & camper stopped with only minor damage to side of camper. Retrieved axle, call tow truck, took camper to in-laws (who lived nearby thankfully) where BIL repaired camper & fixed it better than before. Used that camper for 10 years, sold it to sister & another BIL who used for 4 more years, They traded it in on a new pop-up & got more in trade than what they paid me.

Good Morning everyone
@fran Goodonya to you & Doug
Nora @nicknack2 Welcome
katie @fyrqueen And once my house is cleared out of this stuff I won’t even be doing that, will probably miss it!
I have the exact same plan and I too will probably miss it when the time comes. But looking around at what I still have and what I have sold in the past 3 years, I have quite a number of tears to go before my home is empty of all collections. LOL that makes me sound like a packrat but I do have it all tastefully diplayed and in reasonable order. I am told my home is like walking through a museum
Laurie @wellingtonct safe trip and good luck at the pet show
@kasi Looking forward to seing the Pelican Float Bowl
BTW one of these days I am going to beat you at Zuma 😆 yeah yeah in my dreams 😆 HOw do you manage to get such high scores?
Julie -
@nicknack2 NORA ... Welcome to the Glass Chatroom! If this room is new to you, check out the upper right-hand tab that’s labeled ”How To’’ Manual. Lots of great info there. Also on the right-hand sidebar, you should find Welcome to Glass Chat and How To Post a Picture Link very helpful. So glad you joined us and hope you find lots of fun and information here!
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... Have a safe trip!
@enchantmentglass KELLI ... lovely vase but I just have no idea who made it. I only have one Tiffin book and that's already been searched by others. Sorry.
@dbfrogs FRAN and @wattleihavenext JULIE ... God bless you both for your caring and generosity. (((((HUGS)))))
Time to get ready for Church. Catch up with you all later....

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... I believe I am a very good speller and was often the Spelling Police on the Ebay Chat (tough job but somebody has to do it). 😀 In spite of that, I was 63 years old before I found out that sherbert wasn't sherbert but was sherbet! It came about when spell checking a description to some items I was listing. Anyway, now when listing sherbets I make certain I use both spellings as I find that many people see and hear sherbert rather than sherbet. LOL.
-
Had to take a break to heat up the coffee and eat some more of MIM's cookies as I scroll up the board.
@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Gee, wished I knew something about lamps and oil lamps. Those would interest me too. Oh, as I scroll I see REEN was able to help with the oil lamps. Great!
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... Well, all the fixin's for the installation of the antenna are here and waiting. The weather just wouldn't cooperate this weekend though. I understand none of the details and just rely on the fellow to install it correctly as he did so for my sister at her house. Crossing my fingers. 🙂
Also on the right hand sidebar there is "How To Post A Picture Link" which has additional information on resizing your photo. Glad you posted again on how useful it is to use the 4th link particularly for those on dial-up.
@4931nextdoor ALICIA ... I see the Happy Birthday worked just great and is showing in the sidebar.
-
Just reviewing the day's scroll and see I missed @wellingtonct LAURIE question about the antenna. I really have no idea what Ken and my sis are installing. I've not had any tv this past year, so we just went out and bought a new antenna. My sister has one like it and she gets a couple of dozen channels with it. It will still be a few more days before we can install it because we are having high winds and later rain. I'm in no hurry though.
Well, my "get up and go" has "got up and went." Time for me to wish a Good night to all!

Good Morning everyone. Hot and humid is the predicted day ahead of us down here and maybe a storm later. Yesterday was hot but perfect for Miss P's Naming Ceremony. It was a lovely Ceremony I was very proud of the choices my DD made with the whole thing. I have never been to one like it before.
DD decided against having tradditional Godparents. Each Grandparent had a little blessing to read out, that DD chose and then the guests (Close family) were also given a little blessing they were to read to Miss P. DD & SIL chose this style as they wanted those at the ceremony to all be mentors in Miss P's life. To guide her , to help her , to encourage her & to be there for her through her life's journey. It was truly a beautful Ceremony.
I had planned on getting pics of the banquet table once I had it all set up, with lace tableclothes and clear & pink "antique" glass. But things didn't work out that way. As I was setting the food out ppl were eating and others jumped in to help put the bowls on the table. It was a hot day so everything was kept in the fridge until it was time to eat.Laurie @wellingtonct I am glad no one was injured in that fire.
@fran I am so glad your foot has recovered well enough so you can wear nice shoes and DANCE.

Thank you everyone for all the sweet words about my dear grandbaby. Golly I miss her!
@baabaamason BOB in KY … I know nothing about glass restoration, but I’d bet a bouquet of flowers would look stunning in that basket and no one would ever see the damage to distract them.
@wellingtonct LAURIE … so sad to read of the damage caused by the fire, but the article appeared hopeful that the damage could be repaired and the historic resort was basically sound in spite of the fire.
@ohiostar FENTON … Such wonderful pieces your DW finds. I see you named the pattern on the photo, ”Greek Key”, but it’s helpful for our new glassies if the manufacturer is stated too. According to Doty that would be Northwood.

Melbourne Cup day tomorrow , so it will a big day for me. Getting all doo darred up and heading to one of the local pubs for drinking and festivities as we watch all the races on the screen. Will place a few bets and hopefully luck out on picking some winners. I wouldn’t know a good horse from a nag LOL And all the horses in this are all top breed horses so they all look magnificent. But for us it is just all about the fun day.
@fran2 gorgeous wreaths
Laurie @wellingtonct I hope all goes well for your tomorrow
Julie..wondering if I will get any trick or treaters. .It’s not an Aussie tradtion but it seems Halloween is starting to take off down here and I have been getting reports of some kids doing the Halloween thing -

IreneM @jmart8248 ? Thanks. I checked the Planter site. Did not find any mention of this jar there. It is dated 1983 on the bottom. I do not find any on eBay or any other place. Hoping this will be a rather rare item.
@wellingtonct --Good to see your here. Always love your doggies stories and pictures. For the information of others Wellie once got me out of passel of eBay trouble. I had spammed the Book Board and it seemed that eBay was never going to remove the sanctions against my account. Wellie made call after call to various people at eBay until she got the sanctions removed. I will be forever grateful to her.

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... Some of either the display names or the log-in IDs are the persons eBay ID. But I'm going to repeat a message I posted a few days ago regarding looking at sellers' listings.....
I miss being able to click easily to see the sellers’ eBay listings. To some degree you can do so here, but it’s a bit more round-about. IF…and only IF…someone has put a link in their profile…..
Then you can click on their picture….click on the tab that says ”Profile”… and there is a line that says ”eBay Auctions URL”. You can click that link to see their listings. So it is 3 clicks instead of 1 click, but you CAN see the listings. Of course, you can only see them IF THE PERSON ADDED THE LINK TO THEIR PROFILE.
I would really encourage all the Sellers here to take the time to add the link to their profile. Right now if you click on mine you will find no listings as I put my store on vacation until I return from my trip to California. If you click on Bill-itsagas, you will see his listings.
ATTENTION ALL SELLERS
I found many of our top sellers do NOT show a URL in their profile for their listings. You might want to consider editing your profile so that you could place a link to your listings. -
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... So enjoyed reading about your dear PEN MEM. How lucky Teddy is that you adopted him, he looks adorable.
@newplace Marymelodee ... I actually use to open 2 tabs for the Chatroom if I want to do several mentions in a post. The second tab, I can look up the mention, highlight it, copy past back in the first tab. Now I just keep a list of all the Display names with the Log-IN ID next to it. Don't know if it will copy here without being all askew. I try to copy the first few names and see what happens.

Good Morning eveyone. Another picture perfect Spring day installed for us down here. And I would have missed one DDG sunrise, but I slept in this morning and missed my swim 🙁
@newplace MM "High teas" are big downhere at the moment http://www.atyourtable.com.au/high-tea.html?gclid=CNmpifqK-KsCFS4F4godPDLHpA and I think that has influenced DD with her choice of table settings. She wants old & elegent and loves the look of the clear glass comports etc on white lace . I did the coffee & tea table for her at their wedding. I used my English Myott setting and I must say it looked DDG.
I love to use my items whenever I can, think its because I just love showing off what I have LOL. I have set some lovely tables here over the years for DD for special occasion dinners.
@jpthings Bear Yes I am seriously thinking about starting another collection for Miss P and that would be Pink Glass LOL The other day when I was Opshopping with sister I saw a gorgeous little pink single creamer & sugar made by Johnson UK (Dawnrose) and thought the demitasse cups & saucers added when I can find them would make a charming little girls teaset and when she is old enough she can have little tea parties/ High teas here with Grandma. Then hopefully when she is older still we will have fun hunting for the 'adult" pieces
@wellingtonct Thank you so much for going to all the trouble of getting us the last day of our chat room.

@songbreeze Gail and @jerseystar27 thank you both so much for the L. E. Smith attribution and information! Also thank you Nancy for the Forest Green color for the AH sandwich....it really is a pretty green for Christmas!
@reen Well thank you for the compliment on the photos...I snap a few of the "quickies" for ID but those are the not so good ones....the credit for the good ones have to go to my boyfriend Jim, the "photographer" of this team. He takes the photos and takes the boxes to the P.O. and I do everything else. He takes a million pics as he has more patience than I...but I think it's good as I post ALOT of photos on each listing so they can somewhat speak for themselves as to condition, etc. I will pass the compliment on to him...it will make him smile!
@wellingtonct Laurie thanks for looking at the glasses....am going to check to see if I can find them by searching Libbey today, as Gail also suggested that as well.
Hi Amber! I hope you have a great day!
MM: LOL about the silverware drawer comment....SOOOO true! I'm relieved to know it wasn't just me that took that long to remember I moved them....lol
Jim: Well shoot we all WANT to go but we can't so it is now up to you to absorb allll of that knowledge and keep it in your brain so we can all benefit from it in the future 🙂
Gail: Your enthusiasm and energy exhausts me, but, as Julie would say, goodonya!! Hope your Joplin booth is a big success!
-
Running out the door to make the trip to Joplin with 5 boxes of stuff for the booth.
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... when REEN said "cup plate" instead of saucer then I knew it was small. In a later post she gave the measurement 4 1/4". I looked on Replacements and the pattern is slightly different in the saucer than in the coaster/butter pat. If you scroll down on this page 2 of Cape Cod you will see the coaster/butter pat...which is different from just the items labeled coaster and different from the saucers. http://www.replacements.com/webquote/IMCCACOD_s2.htm
One foot out the door...and one more hour and I'll be in Joplin 😀
-
@wellingtonct LAURIE ... Welcome to the new Glass Chatroom!
@scott SCOTT ... sorry that I can't help you, but someone hopefully will be along soon and be able to answer you. Would love to see a picture when you can.
