Hi to all the glassies. I know it's been a long time but life got into my way here. I have read the board from time to time to keep up on everyone. Seems all the boards have lost a lot of peeps over time.

Shelly, I hear you about some of the bidders. Today I ended an item that had bids which I've never done. It was a high end piece and kept getting questions about it being real and all. Had the owner take it to a jeweler to get it authenticated. She ended up selling to them with no questions asked and no fees. Since it's so easy for ebay to freeze your account I'm glad she did it. I sure don't need any problems...:o)
Our weather has finally cooled down some and I'm loving it. Want to have another sale before Christmas but we'll see how things work out.
Carl, I enjoy your daily posts and pics. You've gotten some wonderful stuff over the years.

Good evening to anyone stopping in. I've been really busy trying to get a yard sale done so haven't had any time on here. It took me a week to get the sale set up, then 2 days of selling and a week to take it all back down. It was a OK sale and I cleaned stuff out when I packed up.

I see Hostess was mentioned. Yes, they're back but I agree with Carl they are not the same.. And the price has almost doubled so I won't be trying anymore. The cupcakes tasted like stale cake to me. Just not what they used to be.

I also agree that ALL the people in the goverment need to be voted out. Seems they don't know crap but since they're pay checks are still coming they don't care either.

I needed to get some more pics done and list but not sure it will be worth the time. Too many peeps out of work right now.

Gail, I live in Arizona. The winters are my yard sale time. LOL After the bck surgey a year ago I didn't have any so looking forward to one hopefully this weekend.

Katie, just make sure they understand the plate stays with them. LOL

I need to figure out something for ebay so I can get some money for insurance. Maybe a handling charge? When the items are over $50 I don't want to be out the money if the item goes missing.

Katie, snowmen are really popular so closer to the holidays they'll go. Raise the price to $1 each and they could be used as serving plates. If you do cookies for the neighbors they make good cookie holders. I got rid of all my crystal platters one year doing that....:o)

Hi everyone. Just returned from the jewelers. He's the guy I sell my gold to. Said the ring was a little more then 3/4 caret but 1 caret with the 2 side diamonds. Said I could get 1200 and that was for the stone......:o) Daug. caught up with me and of course wants the ring and it fit her. Well, I've got it on my pinkie. Like the jeweler said "you can always sell it so wear it awhile".

Reen, glad you got some payments. Some peeps don't pay right away so you need to remember that wwhen listing. After 3 days I usually email them. Haven't had any problems for a long time. (knock on wood) Looks like you're doing good for your first sales since you went back to selling.

Good morning everyone.
Had to share my good luck today. Hubby saw a mouse on our carport yesterday so we decide to clean this am. I had a small box out there I was saving for mailing something. Must of sat on the refridge for over a year. He handed it to me and I heard a rattle. Found a ring that has a 1 karet diamond set in platium (sp) inside. While sorting an estate one day I missed it. ROFLOL This made all the work this am worth it. And also sold some patio chairs on CL while working out there. Life is wonderful today!!!!

Marty, you could offer about 1/4 of replacements values because their prices are way too high. I've sold for others but you need to set a price that you'ld be happy with so you're not working for nothing. Remember auction houses charge 30 to 35% anymore. JMO

I figured it out!!! I had a $4 fee on an expense item and when listing the others I just clicked "sell similiar" and that fee stayed on the other auctions too. Thought since ebay charges us on shipping they just wanted to make more. Thanks anyway.

Good afternoon everyone. I have a question. I had 4 auctions end today and seems ebay's shipping costs on all of them were wrong. I know I can change them when I print out my labels but need to know how to change them so I can send the invoices?? Invoice page says $11.95 for a less then 1 pound box. Help please.

Helen, I had just the metal frame with glass on top for a table. used it awhile then sold it at a YS.
Today I had hubby pull out 3 bins from the shed that have been packed since before we moved. I went through them and pulled out a few things to list on ebay. Got to hot out there so said I'll do more another day. LOL
Bear, I've sold lots of glass before but seems the cost of shipping makes it not worth it anymore. I never mark things fragile because that's like says "throw me around" to some PO workers. I've also been a good packer but when someone uses your package as a step stool it just won't stand up to the weight. LOL
Shelly, I always use the USPS insurance because I never had a problem with a claim with them. I think shipsaver may be cheaper but not sure how well they handle claims.
I'm off to get an early shower and sit around in front of the TV tonight. Need to do some pics in the morning so I can list some stuff.

Good morning glassies..... Oh, what a night! About 2am the sky opened up and we got over 1" of rain in 30 minutes. The dogs where going crazy. We get so little rain that it scares them. They say more tonight. I wish some other places could get what we've had this past week. We needed it but enough already! Think it's too late to save some of the yards and crops but glad we finally got some. Right now 75 temp with 89% humidity.

Gail, I used to sell lots of pottery and glass but seems the PO is doing a worst job anymore. The last pottery piece I sold arived in 12 pieces and you could see a foot print right on the box top...:o( It lasted 60 years in a home with kids and 1 day at the PO. I still have lots of it to sell but not sure I want to take the chance.

Good morning to everyone stopping in.
Finally got a soaking last night with lots of wind and dust. Temp right now is 77 with 70% humidity. I won't complain as long as it stays under 100 today.
Trying to decide what to list on ebay next. Glass makes me nervous because of the way the PO handles the packages. May try a few clothing items for a change. Need to get into the shed for the boxes that have been packed for 8 years. (since I moved) I know I have some clocks packed away and if I haven't seen them in that long I don't need them any more. LOL

Bob, the refund usually takes about 14 days but you will get it. I also think the time is terrible since they can take it out of your account so quick. Seems they could put it back quick but they don't.
Hubby is out doing the front yard. We did the back yesterday. I need to do some work inside today. Need to get into the shed for a box but dread that since it's already hot out. Well, not really hot but 87 with the humidity at 50 is hot for us. I can't wait for cooler temps.

Good morning to all the glassies. We finally got rain during the night and they say more to come. This summer has been the worst one I can remember and we broke lots of records. Hope things will start cooling off even if it's 105 which is normal for this time of year.
I don't post much but do read the boards every day. Noticed that this is the busiest board anymore.

Gail, nice Lladro figurines. I think the incised marks are from the artists and give the pattern # and date. I had over 50 Lladros at one time but I'm down to one now...:o) Their value has really gone down like everything else.

Hi Gail, glad you found a few things for the mall and something for you to relax in after all your running.
I did the right stuff on tinypic. I had done it sooooo many times before and it worked. The last few times I tried it the picture would upload since it showed but nothing in the boxes to copy and paste. Maybe my computer is doing it, not sure. I'm not good at learning unless someone is right here with me showing me how to do things anymore. But since I tried it from this board and by putting tinypic on the top of the computer I figure it may be the computer......:o( Thanks

I've been putting off cleaning all week so today I need to work like a crazy person.

Maybe someone will be able to help me on my vaseline vase if Fran can post it here. I don't know about glass but did pick up a couple of pieces from a 85 year old lady yesterday that looked nice.

Thank you to Marson and Don!!! I remembered the name after some searching. I tried tinypic 2 times and the pic shows up but no url to copy and paste. I really need some help with this pretty vase but have no idea how to get a pic here anymore. Old age is getting to me fast. Good morning everyone. I too agree that sales are down but think after everyone gets caught up on all their outside stuff they'll be back in the house and watching the auction sites again. I have a question if someone knows the answer. When I would put a BIN on a item if someone did the opening bid the BIN would disappear. Well, I have an item up that had a BIN and it is still there even tho there is a bid on it. Is this a new ebay feature?

Good afternoon everyone! Haven't stopped in for a while but wanted to say "hi" to everyone.

Gail, I was reading about your TV problems. Since you don't have cable or satilite all you need is a good HDTV anttena. I remember reading a while back that you had gotten a new TV so it must be a HD. I have one in the extra room and have a set of HDTV rabbit ears on it. The picture is fantastic. The brand is Phillips so they most likely came from walmart and cost about $20. Better then going on a roof to set the one up there. Try them and if they don't work you could always return them. Our pic is better with them then the satilite pic on the other tv.

I have a glass question. I have some Culver Ltd. low ball glass' in their stand but can't find the pattern on ebay or replacements. These date from the 1960's. They have a basketweve design in gold around the bottom. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea as to name of the pettern and who made these. I tried to get a picture but tinypics hasn't been loading for me the last 2 weeks so if anyone knows what that problem is I'd appreciate it???

The person bid on 2 items so paypal is holding the money for both items right now. Only wants refund on the expensive one and that was after he had it for a week...:o) Not sure if he wants to trade mine for one of his since he has only done 2 transactions in 5 yrs. I won't be listing anything else until this gets settled and told the ebay person. She said she's never had anyone call her before. She got a good one with me being her first. LOL

Marty, that bush (tree) is so fantastic!!!! I love it but they probably wouldn't grow out in our heat in the summer. Heck, most things won't grow here after spring. I did buy a lilac vine the other day and haven't even planted it yet. It seems to have grown just giving it water and sun. No sun today since we finally got some much needed rain. Even hailed a bit. But the temps dropped 20 degrees since 2 days ago. Getting company tomorrow and they have a trip to the Grand Canyon planned for next weekend. I think they already got a foot of snow today and suppose to get another foot tonight. I'm sure it'll be beautiful but way too cold for me. They're from Illinois so it will be fine for them. LOL

I do remember the coal furance in the basement and when they delievered coal it went down the shute to the coal bin. I also still have a coal shuttle and coal parlor stove. Never used one but know of a store up in the mountains that heat the whole store with a coal stove. I've got one for sale if someone wants to come to Az. to pick it up. LOL
I didn't do any of the free listings on the 14th. but did get the notice. I still have a lot of the 50 free ones left this month. Too busy but most likely will just do relists on items that didn't sell.

Laurie, hope you get the computer working OK. I'm having problems with my printer. I tried printing a label today and it kept telling me to reinsert the color cartridge. I did that and still didn't work and I had clicked on print so many times I was flustered. Finally put it on black only and it printed out 5 labels with no clicking..:o( And of course paypal took each payment so had to void some. Not sure if I did all of them or not. Still says the color cartridge is in wrong. I have another printer here but just bought new ink for this one.

I need some help on another horse statue. I need to try and get a picture of the mark. This one has a Indian on it but much smaller. I would like a bidding war tonight but what will be will be.

Julie, your weather sure doesn't sound like summer temps. We've had a warmer winter then normal here. There's a storm coming in and temps should drop by 10-15 degrees tonight.

Janice, I totally agreed with you on the drugs causing most of the problems in the world today. And they want to open shops to be able to sell them. Makes me sick.

Hubby, last summer taught the 7 yr. old how to shoot with the BB gun. Now he has all the air soft guns and he knows to keep them on safty if he's not shooting at the targets. Nothing wrong with guns if the person is responsible and taught right.

Katie, we own a LOT of guns here and had them when our girls were small too. We do have a safe but also taught our girls never to touch them without us. Yes, we went shooting..:o) Our g-kids knew we had them and were taught the same as their Moms. But in todays world you go to the store and see kids running all around and no parent in sight. The parents are too busy to care what their kids are into. And not all are bad kids. I've got a few g-kids that are really special and good kids. I do let them know that every chance I get.

Chris, I don't know who made it but think corning ware made some or that may of just been the glass part. Doing OK here and hope you are also. I've owned the stove for over 25 years now so if it sells that would be OK. Or it can sit here until the kids will have to deal with it. LOL

Gail I don't think the glass plates are newer ones. This lady had nothing newer then the 60's. I also got a few older things from here estate. Could they be EAPG?

Helen, I have done many transactions on CL. I state in the listing I only take cash. and then I also check the cash when I'm paid. I always put my phone number in the ad so they have to speak to me. Too many scammers in the world today. And the one you mentioned is a BIG scam. Be careful!!!

Good afternoon glassies. Was just taking a minute to read the boards and this one seems to have all the action. Not that I can help on ID's but love looking at all the pretty stuff.
I see some talk of humming birds and Marty's pics are so wonderful, thanks. Never saw any white ones either. There was a lady up North that had about 100 feeders and the place was full of birds. It was almost scary to try to get to the front door without walking into a few. I have one that comes to the feeder every day and if it's empty and I'm sitting there it dives for my face as to say "can you see the feeder is empty?" I can watch them for hours.
Hope you all are staying warm with all the storms. Geez, it's 64 here right now and I freeze when I go out. Don't know how you all take it but I'm sure others don't know how I take it here when it's 110 for over 30 days. LOL

Gail, a friend passed recently and made 8 calls to give his apt. full of stuff away. Some wanted complete inventory, some didn't pick up from apts. and all couldn't do it for 2 weeks. Finally found a young mother with no furniture and she was thrilled. Sure friend would of liked knowing it went to someone that really needed it... I have used the free section on CL and the stuff flys away fast. LOL

Amber you need to buy the Duracell rechargeable battries. They come with the charger. You may spend a little more at first but they should last about a year so in the long run, you'll save money.
Fran, not sure there is any one flower used in the flower frog but something like dasies or lilies should work well.
Yes, postal rates are headed up in Jan. again. Ebay may be going downhill like Net Flicks is. They raised their prices and lots of peeps quit. Not they want their share holders to make up the differance. LOL
