• @shellyrae37 Wishing you a wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  • Wishing everyone a wonderful HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  • And HAPPY BIRTHAY, Dear Marson! You too Fran, though I was able to greet you on Facebook the other day!

  • You dear sweet people...thank you so much for remembering me on my birthday. It's been eons since I've been here. Crazy busy past few years... I finally pledged on this birthday, I am definitely slowing down. Already given up a couple of commitments that just have wound up being too much physically and take up too much time. Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

  • Thanks to each and every one of you for the dear birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. Was in Tulsa all day. I had a doctor's appointment at the Cancer Institute, a big review of lab work and CT scan and everything came back just excellent. I remain cancer free. Everyone in the lab sang Happy Birthday to me as I was having blood drawn. Great fun. 🙂 I loved it. Today was my big SEVEN ZERO. Sending you all a big group ((((HUG)))) with a ton of "thank you's."

  • Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARSON!!!!!

  • Still in the 80s and 90s here but suppose to drop again in a couple of more days.

SHELLY.... had the right wrist done about 25 years ago. no problems. Fingers still a bit numb on this left hand so hope it clears up soon. Otherwise the healing is doing well.

Will have to make a trip to Arkansas for a relative's funeral. Several years of Alzheimer's so he is at peace now.

I was going to take some pictures of glass, but the battery is dead in the camera and I can't find the spare. It's a weird big flat square battery so I have to find the exact one. Think I'll have to clean out the desk drawers to ever locate it. 🙂

GEORGE ... glad you are doing ok. The weather reports for your area really sounded worrisome.

REEN ... sure hope your doggie is steadily recovering.

  • I like Spring but I love Autumn too and we really are enjoying some of the weather now.

I had carpal tunnel wrist surgery earlier this week. So glad to have that taken care of. A little awkward to type but healing nicely.

Tagging stuff to take to Joplin to the mall in a couple of weeks. I really must get myself motivated to post some things online. i think trying to get decent photos to use is the hardest part for me.

  • JULIE ... I just loved all you FB photos of your jump! I just can't begin to tell you how marvelous I think it was for your to do. Bravo, bravo!

We finally finished our big Oktoberfest festival that the Church puts on annually after months of planning and work. It was very successful and we had perfect weather. Everyone is worn out and needs a weeks vacation.

I got stopped by the police Friday as my car tax decal had expired. Ai-yi-yi. I couldn't drive all weekend until I got to the tag agency to renew on Monday. Cost an additional $100 for the fine on top of the $150 to the City for the ticket.

  • Hello, glassies. Been so long since I've been here, but it just seems like there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done that needs to be done. I don't know that I do anymore than I ever have, it's just that I'm so doggone slooooowwww with what I do.

I stay very busy on the FB EAPGS page. I suppose I average about 5 hours a day easily... sometimes less, sometimes more, but it's gotten so big that there is always something to be done on it. It's not particularly user friendly so things take a lot more time than if we had a regularly word processing system on it. I love it though. I started it back 2 1/2 years ago when we had so many fewer members. I think of it as my baby, and can't pull myself away from it. It's been super working with Don too since he been working at raising this baby too.

It's very busy at our Church now as our huge annual fund-raiser Oktoberfest will be held on October 8. Lots of planning meetings and I'm doing a lot of the signs for the games and activities and wrapping the baskets of goods for the various Silent Auction items.

I spend a lot of time at the Senior Citizen center. Enjoy a lovely lunch there 5 days a week, and I love to play dominoes and pitch so I have a lot of fun.

I joined our Church choir too. I don't have a very grand voice but I can sing on key within my fairly small range...I'm a tenor they say.

Seems every time I turn around I'm seeing a different doctor for a 3-month checkup. They all seem pleased with my progress. Do believe I'm going to be having surgery for carpal tunnel in my wrist in the future, but have so much to be thankful and grateful for.

I crochet and watch Netflix non-stop. I'm such a tv junkie. Shame on me. 🙂

  • Dearest Julie... sending all kinds of prayers and (((((Hugs))))) for you and your loved ones. May eternal light shine on your mother forever.

  • ***** HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY P *****

  • Hi to all glassies. We had a cool front move in last night which dropped our temperature down to the low 90s. Such a relief. Rained this afternoon so we are quite humid, but at least we aren't in the triple digits.

I've been selling nicely in Joplin which really pleases me since I restocked earlier this month. This really encourages me to get busy and get some more things ready for the mall. I also took a few things down to our local mall, but haven't checked on sales.

Our county fair starts tomorrow and I will be helping out late afternoon/evening Wednesday and Friday...possible Thursday too if I get back from a doctor's appointment in Tulsa on time.

Nancyjean ... you just have wonderful items in your Ruby Lane shop!

  • Hi, glassies. My word, we are just sweltering. Heat index yesterday was 111....today it is 114. Dewpoint yesterday was 74...don't know what it is today.

I was glad that I got to Joplin last week and took some glass to my booth. Also got some glass to my booth at our local mall. I'm actually starting to see a bit a empty space on my dining room table.

Ruby Lane is having a 30% Red tag sale so I put some things on sale. Only sold one thing so far, but the day isn't over yet. 🙂

I need to take photos and put some stuff in Ruby Lane but the thermometer in the garage where the photo stuff is all set up is 110. I'm going to go sit in my recliner with the window a/c aimed at me along with 2 small fans. Time to turn on netflix and pick up the crochet hooks. 🙂

  • Had a great day in Joplin yesterday and managed to clean a bit off the dining room table. Bought a few small things and after all these years had my very first "cat mishap". I got a sweet child's mug with a grape motif that had the word DARLING on it. The mug no longer has a handle attached to it but the cat is OK which is more important.

Huge thunderstorm moved in this afternoon. Huge downpour with umbrella-breaking winds.

CARL ... an adorable photo of Marley and friend.

NANCYJEAN ... Hi! Super to see you signing in.

SHELLY ... I've always liked the ADMIRAL pattern and THE PRIZE is super too.

HI to FENTON, GEORGE, and REEN

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Shelly's Friend MARIA!

  • Good evening, glassies. Well, the day passed and I didn't get any closer to my dining room table. I was just snuggling in with Netflix and my crochet when my friend, Johnnie, called and said she didn't have to work tomorrow and would love to go to Joplin if I had any of my stuff ready to go. I admitted I had NOTHING ready to go, but even empty-handed I could enjoy tootling down I-44 to Joplin. But after we talked, I got busy, looked the dining room squarely in the eye and spent the next 2 hours tagging stuff. It was sure hard to say goodbye to some of the stuff but I made myself wrap it up and stuff it in the tote. You still can't see the top of the table but I got a may a quarter of the stuff removed. Baby steps. 🙂

Now I just have to make sure that I don't go buy a bunch of stuff to bring home with me. ... well, if I DO buy anything at least I have to make certain I don't set it on the dining room table.

HI to GEORGE, CARL, DON, JULIE, KATIE, SHELLY, FRAN 2, NANCY P, and REEN !

  • I told my sister that tomorrow I was going to tag and clear off all the glass that's been sitting on my dining room table for the past 2 years. I was just going to close my eyes, grab whatever my hand touched, then force myself to tag it and wrap it for the mall.

Do you think I will actually do so?

  • JULIE ... so very sorry to hear of your mother's condition. You are in my heart and prayers. ((((Hugs))))

KATIE ... thank you for the mention of the thyroid test. I believe that was one of the things she tested for back in March. He has a weakening in the left side of his heart that has developed over the past few months too. He had a good day today.

I managed to get some glass down to the antique mall today. I really hope to start cleaning off the dining room table tomorrow. I haven't seen the top of it in the past couple of years.

CARL ... do pass on sincerest congratulations to Marley. It's just grand what all she has accomplished. The photos are terrific.

Waving to GEORGE, FRAN 2, JANICE, SHELLY, NANCY P, and REEN and all glassies!

  • Good evening, glassies. Don't know how the time passes so quickly. I stay busy on the FB page, but lots seems to be going on all around me. Busy with my little dog Mr. Rocky. He's been fine for the past 6 weeks and then had a cluster of 4 days of experience a seizure or 2 or 3 in a day. Have been out to the vets and gotten blood work and we are trying a new medicine. He did well today.

We've had horrendously hot weather for quite a time with high humidity. I need to get up to Joplin but just couldn't muster the energy to tag stuff this week for the mall...or to drive there and back. Spending most my time sitting in front of fans and drinking ice water. 🙂

  • **** HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIE! ****

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIE! I am busy trying to bake you a cake, but Auctiva will not help me light the oven. I have a help question sent to them so I'm waiting to hear from them.

SHELLY.... well, on second thought, maybe a new photo of it right side up would be helpful. I tried rotating it but it doesn't work as well as I hoped.

  • SHELLY .... busy busy busy working on the FB forum. I would love for you to post the 2 photos of your stand as we do not have that pattern listed in our files yet. With these stands, the flat unruffled small area is always where the bowl sets in. You will find it sets in securely. The larger part of the stand has to be on the table. It doesn't matter if it is ruffled...the points of it will all be balanced and will hold it quite steady. The large portion keeps everything in balance. If you turned it upside down and had the small portion on the table, then it would be more like trying to balance an ice cream cone on its point... it would be unbalanced and come crashing down.

  • Good evening, glassies. Long day, and I'm about to get whip lash from yawning so much.

SHELLY ,.. just wanted you to know you have your stand upside down. It is not for the punch bowl but for what they called their Crimped Fruit Bowl. It was made by Imperial Glass Co., ca. 1909. They did not give it a name, only a number. It is IMPERIAL No. 404.

  • Good evening, glassies. Been sitting at this computer most of the day working on the Facebook photo albums. Much to my chagrin, I manage to lose nearly 100 photos. They are now swirling around somewhere in cyberspace. Tomorrow I will go on a search for all my little lost sheep. Til then I thought I'd rather come in here and say HI and then settle into the recliner for some quiet time.

I have a window a/c unit on and 5 fans! Heat index was between 105-109 today. I did take time early afternoon to sit down and brush my two cats. The poor things are just thick with shedding. I've been brushing about every other day this past week but they could still stand for more. Also got my dog, Sugar, brushed last night. I'm having to run my little vacuum nearly each day to pick up all the pet hair.

IRENE M ... I love using the image wizard. So much easier then when so many of us were stumbling over Tiny Pics. Beautiful bowl.

JANICE ... maybe a toothache from the cake, but oh my, every crumb was delicious!

Waving to George, Julie, Carl, Fenton, Nancy P., and Katie

  • I'm a little behind in checking in, but I don't know where the time goes. Sis and I had to take a friend to the ER. She's 80 with high blood pressure so they got her all settled and keeping her overnight. I'm sure she will be fine tomorrow. Then this evening I went to a little political gathering where the candidates for Sheriff, County Commissioner, and State Senate, gave talks and answered questions.

I was ready to turn in at 8:30 but came over to shut down the computer and got involved with glass again on Facebook. Once I start looking at glass, the time can just blow past me. Here it is an hour and a half later and I'm just shaking my head trying to figure out how that much time passed in just 15 minutes. My eyes are crossing so I'll have to read the board in the morning. WIshing everyone a very good night and restful sleep.

  • ***** HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Marty! *****

  • not about glass..... but wanted to show off my West Coast son, JR...

  • Good morning, glassies. Sweltering here in NE Oklahoma the past 3 days. Heat index between 110 and 118. It was already 103 at 8:00 am this morning.

JULIE ... it's so wonderful that you are able to pare down your closets. I look around my house and I don't need 9/10 of the "stuff" I have, but I look at it and I just can't seem to tag it to get it out of the house. I just look at it and mumble and kind of scoot it around the table top or the shelf or the floor or under the bed and say "I'll think about it tomorrow." Definitely hoarder mentality on my part.

SHELLY ... the problem with getting my dog to take his medicine is we can't pry his mouth open! He's a little do, a Shih Tzu, but has the strength of a pit bull in his jaw. But my sister finally solved the problem this week. Vienna Sausages! I grind up the medicine and stuff it in the sausages. He gets so excited and gobbles it up.

REEN ... sure hope your medicine is starting to get things under control for you. Sorry to learn of your second trip to the hospital.

WENDY ... I can surely appreciate how time can fly past us. Sorry you are still in such pain. Are you having any time to crochet?

Hello to Nancy P, Irene M, Katie, Fenton, George, and Carl.

  • On the run... full day ahead. SUppose to reach 97 with 109 heat index! Luckily just about everything in OK is air conditioned.

Running the dog to the groomer. Meeting with a friend and my sister for breakfast/ brunch. Heading to the Senior Citizen for lunch and bingo. Early evening a jam session at our Parish Hall.

Just waving as I run out the door...........

  • Good evening, glassies. We're going through a hot humid time. I have an a/c unit and plenty of fans so I'm comfortable in the house.

CARL ... I'm so very sorry to read about your nephew. Sounds like a fascinating person and extra difficult when a passing is so unexpectedl

GEORGE... I hope you and Anne really enjoyed the trip. I certainly loved the photos you posted on Facebook.

REEN ... Surely hope you are doing better and the medicine is working to control the A-fib.

SHELLY ... I'm doing very well and getting around so much more. I still have some limitations but nothing of any consequence. Post pictures of the things you are trying to ID. It's always fun to see new things.

I've been busily crocheting a dog sweater for my Mr. Rocky. I tried nearly everything to get him to take his medicine and NOTHING worked. He's gotten 2 or 3 more hot spots he's been scratching badly. My sister brought over a can of Vienna sausages a couple of days ago and -- wonders of wonders -- I bury the powdered medicine in them and he's in heaven scarfing it down. The sweater, yes I'm keeping the a/c on cold, is so he can't keep on scratching the sore spots.

Went out to our big garden center this afternoon and got 2 baskets of bright pink hanging petunias for the front porch. Really perks things up.

Waving to NANCY P, FRAN 2, JIM L, and KATIE.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA....

Laughing at myself. I wrote that whole explanation to SHELLY why her tumblers couldn't be Dunbar. Then I decided to check Replacements.... Color my face red....
    http://www.replacements.com/crystal/dg.htm

  • CARL .... incredible wind. Hope you all are in for a lot kinder weather soon.

MARSON ... we seem to be having the heat here too. In the 90s with heat index suppose to break 100 this weekend.

JULIE ... how was the Sports Carnival? I didn't catch any photos on FB.

DON ... Sure hope you continue to have good weather and are having great fun. I know it will all go by too quickly.

KATIE ... I hope you are still having a good positive recovery. Did you ever get to see an infectious disease doctor?

SHELLY ... I can surely hope I'm wrong, but I'm not thinking those tumblers are by Dunbar. I think they are newer than Dunbar. With those puffy rings around them they sure look alike, but I don't think Dunbar ever made them go straight up to a round cupped bowl. Think theirs tended to have a flare.

  • My word, it's been so long since I've worked to take photos of glass so that I can write up a listing. Man, it's difficult. I worked all day and still very unhappy with the photos, but I have to show you the one I was really excited to find yesterday. This huge footed bowl stands about 6 3/4" tall, 12" in diameter, and weighs nearly 8 lbs. ... can you believe that? a honking 8 lbs.

    IMPERIAL No. 292 (OMN)

  • Spent the entire day in Joplin treasure hunting. Had a great time and bought a couple of things. Did get home til supper time. Talk about shop til you drop! I'll have to take pictures of a couple of the items tomorrow or on the weekend for show and tell. 🙂 For now I'm going to flop in my bed and will probably be asleep before my head hits the pillow.

  • Good morning, glassies. Bright morning filled with sunshine. It's suppose to get up to a heat index of 95 today and 97 tomorrow.

Already been busy working on the EAPGS FB photos. Going to fill up my coffee cup and try tagging some stuff for the mall.

Today is my "play day.," I'll head out for the Senior Citizen Center. Work on a jig saw puzzle and play some card games. Then time for Lunch and afterwards we play bingo and I love bingo. JULIE... it is nothing like the exciting fun of playing Housie in Australia. Oh, such fond fond memories. And we played for serious money at Housie. Here we play for a box of cookies or a coffee mug but we all have fun anyway.

WAVING to REEN, FRAN 2, JIM L, and CARL.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Busy couple of days. Got my dog, Mr. Rocky, all groomed and looking handsome. Packages off to school graduates. Helping sister with wrapping and mailing her art work. In between buying groceries, doing laundry, working on FB. Pulled out 5 boxes to sort and tag stuff to take to the mall on Thursday. The first 4 I opened, looked through the stuff, and just closed the lid back up. 🙂 I MAY get to the 5th box and actually take some stuff out to tag.

Here is the McKee OLD COLONY (OMN) ... FERN GARLAND (AKA) syrup that I got the other day. I thought it was interesting to see the PRES CUT logo embossed on the side of the neck of the syrup.

  • ***** HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CURT *****

  • Beautiful day here in Oklahoma. Went to a local antique store and bought a sweet syrup pitcher. I need to take a picture of it. McKee's OLD COLONY aka FERN GARLAND. After that spent a tremendous amount of time trying to help my sister get her new Fitbit up and running. We never did manage to, but we wound up putting a pot luck supper together and had a grand time just chatting.

  • Gee the days got busy. I go to the Senior Citizen Center most days for lunch and usually play cards and work jig saw puzzles. I keep telling myself to go home and get some work done, but I have too much fun. 🙂 Each Wednesday night this month our Church is having "Jam Session in June" so I took my little xylophone and had fun playing OH Susannah ... WHen the Saints come marching home, ... etc.

Has anyone here watched that TV program Game of Thrones? I'm debating whether to stream it or not since it's a paid streaming and not free.

A couple of weeks ago I turned on my computer and there was an unknown screen telling my I could download Windows 10. I spent a lot of time trying to figure how to get out of it. All I could find for a while was "continue". When I finally was able to tell it I didn't want to download it, I then got a screen that said something like "Restoring previous version of Windows." Yikes! YIKES! What did they mean "restoring"...had they deleted it? Anyway the little spinning timer spun and spun and I wondered if it would ever end. I finally just shut the computer down. The next day I turned the computer back on and got the "restoring" thing still trying to work. I let it run forever so long and then finally had my computer back. Scared me out of my wits.

  • Got my new avatar posted. Fat little round cheeks from 8 months of prednisone, but who cares, as I have HAIR on my head.

CARL ... adorable photo! I'm sure it just makes you even more anxious for all the pics to arrive.

GEORGE .... Was surprisingly able to get Mr. Rocky into the vet at 11 this morning. A combination of allergies and perhaps a bit of skin infection and some symptons attributed to age. He's 12 1/2 yrs old. Benadryl and antibiotics for a few days. So hopefully he will feel a lot of relief.

REEN ... sure hope you are doing better and healing faster each day.

Going to work on the glass photo albums on FB, then working on a baby blanket I'm making for a couples first baby, then watching Netflix! Sounds like a good day to me. 🙂

    Waving to JULIE!

  • Good evening, glassies. Had a nice lovely day here. A few sprinkles, but mainly blue sky with big white puffy clouds.

CARL ... makes my mouth water thinking of all the lovely home-grown vegetables, particularly the tomatoes.

SHELLY ... I put a new avatar on Facebook but it's really blurry and it cropped part of my hair in the picture which I wanted to show off. I'm going to have to try another pic. My hair is very short...but at least it is MY hair! 🙂

NANCY P .... glad everything turned out ok for the ceremonies. I was surprised to see I-95 closed for flooding even though it was way south, I just think of all of the East Coast when I hear I-95.

KATIE, JANICE, and REEN ... I'm so sorry you each are dealing with such painful health problems. I truly have you in my prayers.

GEORGE ... glad you got yourself back on the board! I love the picture of you and your sweet Penny, I have to get my Mr. Rocky to the vet and plan to call for an appointment tomorrow. He has a funny little dry cough. And he had 3 more seizures this month.

    Good night to all....

  • JULIE ... yes, I guess winter will soon be on you as I had to turn on my air conditioner today. 🙂

SARA ... hope you had an enjoyable birthday. I keep a bundt chocolate cake frozen in my fridge and it's delightful to just go cut a slice or two periodically. It tastes yummy all icy cold.

KATIE ... sounds perfectly dreadful. Hope they get it diagnosed soon and properly treated.

CARL ... hope you will be able to enjoy at least one day of the holiday once your DW returns.

  • Had a very nice quiet day. Enjoyed just being with all my fur kids and taking it easy but feeling GOOD all day. Got a few things done about the house.

CARL .... sorry to hear of the plumbing issues. So very lucky to find someone who could come out to fix it though.

NANCY P ... I keep up with all your charitable walks on Facebook. You are a real marvel and it's so dear that you support so many,

IRENE M ... Do hope this finds you doing well. I've been gone for so long and have missed so much. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

KATIE ... I scrolled a bit and saw you are fighting Lymes? I'm so sorry and hope you are able to keep it under control.

MARSON ... too bad about the rain, but at least you aren't fighting snow. I always picture you with snow surrounding you. You have an awful lot of cold months up your way. 🙂

  • So glad to finally get back on the board and say hello to all my dear Glassie friends. I just got home from the hospital where they finished up what looks to be the last medical procedure for a good long while. Been a roller coaster ride and looks like we made it to the end of the ride! YEA!

Had little energy to spare the past year or so but wanted to keep my commitment of working on the EAPGS ID/photo project so that's where my focus was. But now, I'm beginning to be quite renewed and looking forward to getting active once again.

We've been in hot, humid, tornado weather here for the past few days and still have a weekend of possible threats. I plan to stay in the air conditioned house and just work on some of my glass for the first time in a long time. Really looking forward to it.

  • JULIE.... watching the billy boil had me whistling Waltzing Matilda. 🙂

  • Dear Lainey and Nancy P,

***** Have a Kosher and happy passover *****

  • Hi, glassies. Hope all are doing well. Staying busy with the FB page and my revolving door with medical issues. We are in the midst of a lovely Spring. The temperatures have been pleasant and moderate. Flowers blooming, birds singing, trees all green.

Still don't get out to treasure hunt but about once a month when I settle up with malls. I guess I get most of my glass "fix" on FB for now. Just listed a couple of new things on Ruby Lane. Haven't done that for ever so long.

SHELLY ... I've never seen a flower frog for a fan vase. I just think that is absolutely super! I'd have a fit if I'd found it!

  • Good evening, glassies.

BOB in KY ... I am so sorry to hear about BIN. I understand your reluctance, but of the pets I've had to have put down (one had cancer, another liver failure) I find my memories of their passing seems to be gentler for me because I was with them and able to pet and hold them. It makes me think that they knew they were loved and didn't have to pass alone. (((((Hugs)))) for both you and BIN.

  • DON... you beat me to the punch. I just came back in here to look at Shelly's dish after I saw the Crossed Ferns.

JULIE ... I envy the lovely times you are able to have so frequently with your grandkids. I bet the camping was terrific.

KATIE ... I'm so sorry to hear about your poor doggy. I sure don't want to see any animal ever in pain.

My friend and I are going to try to go to Joplin Monday so I'm going to have to just make myself take time this weekend to look up prices, descriptions, tag and pack stuff to take up there. I don't look forward to that.

  • Good evening, glassies. It was one scary night last night. This is the pic I showed Don. It was posted by our KRJH news. My sister and have taken this road to Tulsa every time I had to go to the doctor and for treatment this past year. This storm just traveled right up our route, I-44. How it split and part went north of us and part went south of us, we'll never know. It's what we call real "Wizard of Oz" weather.

  • JULIE ... How did the swap meet with you little granddaughter go? Did she brave the overnight well or did she get homesick at bedtime? 🙂

  • Shelly... looks like the base to a honey dish. Don is collecting the photos of honey dishes along with the butter dishes, so we will have to go search the album.

  • Good evening to all glassies. Been a little under the weather this past month or so. Most my time is spent either resting with my crochet, or working on the EAPS Facebook page. Luckily Don has teamed up to work on it too so it's giving me a rest. Haven't posted as it's really only crochet, FB, or doctors. Not really complaining as I love to crochet, Facebook and EAPG fascinate me, and my doctors are great. But I think those things can all just bore the breath out of you. 🙂 In the last month this was the schedule...lab work, chest x-ray, doctor visit, lab work, CT scan, doctor visit, doctor visit, lab work, heart sonogram, nuclear stress test, lab work, PET scan...and I'm being scheduled for a needle biopsy and an angiogram. You should be thoroughly bored by now. 😀

  • Good evening, glassies. My health is acting rather feisty lately so bouncing around doctor's offices and medical tests. But the most excitement was saved when I tried to open the drawer in the bathroom. I tugged but something was blocking it. I got it part way opened and then said, Why in the world is my cat, Twinkie, sleeping in the drawer. I tugged some more and it opened further and then I realized this was NOT my Twinkie. This was big and furry but not Cat... it was..drum roll... Raccoon! He jumped out of the back of the drawer and down the hole where the pipes run to under the house.

The drawer was where I kept all my gift wrapping paper and ribbons and cards, etc. Needless to say Raccoon brought in a ton of dried leaves, chewed up all the wrappings, stirred into a great stew of a nest. Rather ucky to clean it all up.

  • Hi to all glassies! All is well in NE Oklahoma today.

Thanks for the nice words about the playmat. My little grandson, Connor, just turned 4. SHELLY...the trees and flowers are attached to the mat. The cars, barn, tractor, pig, sheep, turtle can all be moved around. The vegetable garden has 2 little radishes, 2 carrots, and 1 leek. They fit into a crocheted "pocket" so it looks like they are part way underground. Hard to see in the photo. You can take them out of the pockets and move them.

Still working on the FB page. SHELLY ... we are working over the weekend on streamlining the instructions on how to see the photos you'd like. Hopefully you will find it easy and be able to enjoy the more than 6,000 photos we have.

Before long I really can see a slow-down in the amount of work it will take to maintain the albums. I'll be glad as I've had no time to post photos of my own stuff. I'm behind in all my other FB forums too as I just haven't had time to even read them.

  • Good evening, glassies. Reached 72 today. Lots of strong wind. We were forecast for a thunderstorm to reach us early evening. Instead the weather changed much later and it's only been rain so far. The rain is much needed so that's great.

I am sooooo relieved as the 2 big projects...the EAPGS Facebook page and a crochet playmat I was making for my 4 yr. old grandson.... were both finished today! They have both taken up more time than I really wanted to give. 🙂 Granted there is still a lot of stuff to work on the FB page, but no time table to do so. No pressure. I had a time table for the crochet and I missed that. My DGS had his birthday last week. I have other projects but I can do them in my own time.'

It's not glass related, but this is the playmat I made. Ignore the mistakes. Thank goodness little kids don't know too much hopefully about proportions as the tractor is bigger than the barn, the cars larger than the trees, the pig and sheep bigger than the hay bales, the turtle so big it makes the pond look like a bathtub, the radishes-carrots-leek buried in the veggie garden.....on and on. I'm sure he won't mind and I know he will have a super time playing with it.

It's really going to be nice to have some free time back.

  • Good morning, glassies.

CARL ... I read of your winter weather and can only be thankful that we've barely been touched by cold. It's probably one of the mildest winters I can remember here in the past 18 years. Today is a little chillier than the past few days...we should reach 64. Last week we reached 82 one day!

SHELLY ... It's the EAPGS (Early American Pattern Glass Society) facebook page Don and I are working on. I started posting the members' photos in April of 2014. To date, I've pasted and listed ID information on more than 6,000 photos into albums. We have albums that start with each letter of the alphabet and place the photo according to the first letter of the pattern name. Don has made albums by forms...placing all cake stands in an album, all table sets; all butter dishes, etc. He's working on making albums with motifs...circles, diamonds, scrolls. He's helping me put the main albums in alphabetical order and I'm trying to make Title boxes of the patterns. Facebook has a lot of limitations and we can't work it as easily as our regular word processing, but I think we will have the photo albums a lot more user friendly for people looking for ID's and an overview of shapes, forms and colors of patterns.

  • Hope this finds everyone doing well. I haven't been in here for a while, but I've been up to my ears in alligators. There just don't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done. I enjoy what I'm doing but I have a couple of really big projects I'm working on. The first is the EAPGS Facebook page and the other is an overdue crochet project. Don Plank and I are working on the FB project and it requires a tremendous amount of time, but it's one of those things that once it is done it will free up so much time and be so worth it. Well, it's midnight here and I should have hit the bed an hour ago.

JULIE ... hope you have a very successful swap meet. I feel for you having to gather stuff together. I need to tag items and restock next week at the malls. I dread trying to figure out what to take and to which mall. Then having to research the items and figure the prices and make the tags. Oh, but it sure is nice when the stuff sells. 🙂

  • Sad news I just read on Facebook. Our dear ALICIA (ebay 4931nextdoor) has just lost her dear husband. She's just had such a rough time over the past couple of years or so. One of her dear daughters passed away 2 years ago leaving behind 2 small children.

  • Lynn .... I am so terribly sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I was so fortunate to meet your Mother and Father when I visited my son and his family on the East Coast. Jim, Bonnie, and I went out treasure hunting for glass and had lunch together and such an enjoyable conversation and time. It was splendid. My sincerest condolences to you all.

  • Hi, glassies. Been up to my ears in alligators trying to keep the EAPG FB photo/ID pages updated. But I'm taking the day off and have one foot out the door to go play in an all-day Pitch Tournament! Wish me luck! Win or lose, I LOVE playing cards and can't think of a better way to spend a day. 🙂

  • I have been on the run all day long and I'm more than pooped. Hitting the bed in just another minute or two.

SHELLY ... Traded in the new printer for a new printer. 🙂 Never could get the new one to install properly last night. I will try my new-new one tomorrow.

JULIE ... yep, I had to buy a new USB cord today...$20... Crazy that it doesn't come with the printer or that they don't mark the box with something that says "USB cord not included".

JIM L ... yes, chili with BEANS. It has to be. Hey, I have not received my papers/form/W-whatevers from either Federal or State telling me how much taxes I've paid. I don't ever remember having to wait til February.

As far as snow goes.... the weather man was comparing all the snow you Northerners and East Coasters get to what we get. Our accumulation of snow over a 5-YEAR PERIOD was only a little over 25 INCHES. 😛

  • Well, phooey. I bought a new printer but it didn't come with a USB cord...and it doesn't seem to like the cord I had on the old one...so it won't connect.

Jim L ... some had beans, some did not have beans, some made both, and one group made a delicious vegetarian chili! The veggie chili was surprisingly good.

Been a busy day working on the Facebook EAPG site. About time for a big cold glass of milk and a cinnamon muffin. 🙂

  • It reached 72 today....and gas price was 1.38 a gallon. My sister and I spent most of the day out having an enjoyable time. There was a big chili cookoff and you paid for tasting kits and we spent the afternoon tasting chili, cornbread, and salsa.

My printer died. Well, not actually...instead it just blinks constantly and won't even shut off. I got a new printer but I was too lazy when we got home to hook it up. Hate having to try to pull the desk out and climb around on the floor, dodging wires and cables and trying to figure how to hook it up. Will give it a go sometime tomorrow.

  • Good evening, glassies. Had an absolutely wonderful time with my son, DIL, and Grandkids. My son, and 2 of the children took ill the day before they left with sore throat, bronchitis and strep. But they still managed to stay in good humor and their visit here was just too wonderful for words. I sure do miss them now.

JIM L. ... I got so mad when my satellite started out so cheap and wound up costing so much over time. I finally turned it in and I went a year with no television. Read about every mystery series of books from the local library that year. Then strange but true...I won a 40" tv at a raffle drawing. I waited 2 months before I finally decided to keep it. But this time, no cable, no satellite dish. I got an antenna put on my roof. Suits me just fine. I get NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and a dozen or so other channels. I got one of those little ROKU boxes so I can watch Netflix and other stuff.

  • Yikes! That was one gigantic URL. I just tried it and it worked for me. Hope you can see it.

I'm sure glad all those in the path of the storm have managed to still have power. Hope the power is able to stay on and that soon the weather will be winding down and everyone will be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

  • Hi, glassies. I'm so excited I can't sleep as my East Coast son and family arrive tomorrow. Luckily they left the DC area Thursday and missed all the snow. They drove to Kansas to see great grandpa and grandma and will drive on down here tomorrow afternoon and stay until Thursday. This will be the first time the daughter-in-law and grandkids have ever been to Oklahoma. The grandkids are almost 3 years old, 7 years old, and 17 years old.

SHELLY ... the one thing I've been able to do constantly this past year was to crochet. Right now I'm making a car "play-mat" for the soon-to-be 3 yr. old. He loves cars and this play mat has road ways and trees, ponds, hay fields, etc. You make it in squares and then can connect them in any configuration you want. If this link works, it should show you some of the different types of squares. https://www.google.com/search?q=crochet+car+play+mat&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS583US583&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=643&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiRk6ac4MHKAhVB2GMKHXxqB_UQsAQIGw#tbm=isch&tbs=rimg%3ACTDJqU2WdOxqIji9gTotWUey5TSjN3x3djGEPZMSPoYMBO8mpu8JZLsvzkC_1ZwkM6PNunNNh5yUfj_1xAU_1bClmbJByoSCb2BOi1ZR7LlEURWP2vwwxFWKhIJNKM3fHd2MYQR3k2GeISW7qcqEgk9kxI-hgwE7xHIqgYkWo2wryoSCSam7wlkuy_1OETc6W_1hO3TweKhIJQL9nCQzo824R1rTnxCBnszwqEgmc02HnJR-P_1BFQD5GEZb69lCoSCUBT9sKWZskHEelNLUvVeomn&q=crochet%20car%20play%20mat&imgrc=o_9XefjelBGZSM%3A

  • Good evening, glassies. I sure hope all our glassies in the path of the winter storm are able to ride it through without any damage or loss of power. It really is frightening to look at the news reports/videos of areas already affected.

I've continued to promise myself over the past 6 months that I will get busy and start listing glassware... and I still haven't gotten to it. Just don't know where so much time has gone and yet I've accomplished so little. Seem to have become glued to my recliner with a crochet hook melded to my hand. Still having some ups and downs with health.

Got gas yesterday at $1.40 a gallon. As consumers we are all delighted. As Oklahomans we are saddened and fearful since we are an oil producing State. Lost jobs...lost taxes... causing havoc to our State's economy. Ah, but like everything else in life, at some point "this too shall pass."

  • Good morning, glassies. I made it to Joplin on Tuesday and restocked my booths. I didn't take a whole lot but at least some new stuff for customers to look at. Had a really fun day but it takes me another day or so of doing nothing to recover my energy.

I'm going to be very busy on FB EAPG site as the 2 week theme is for a company (Atterbury) that I know nothing about and have almost no information (books, catalogs, web sites). I always double check items before I add them to our List and to our Photo albums and I just have to hope the gurus will provide me with the info and it seems like there isn't a whole lot of info available even for them. It's super to begin gathering all we can to learn as much as we can on these little documented companies or patterns.

I sold a big AUSTRIAN compote on Ruby Lane. It's been sitting on RL for nearly 3 years!!! It's so lovely I thought for sure it would sell right away when I listed it. Thought I'd share a picture of it....

  • FRAN 2... Too funny that we managed to have the same gif. We must be at the same New Year's Party. 🙂

DON.... I know how much fun that had to be to have another EAPG person to visit with. Linda Yoder stopped through here for a couple of hours in early summer and it was simply great. There are just no people who even collect glass in my area, much less understand EAPG.

SHELLY... I'll look forward to seeing your son's books. I've made note of his name so I can check on them. McClelland is a familiar name to me as the Ambassador at one of our posts was McClelland. Can't remember which country it was. I'll have to see if I can look it up.

KATIE .... wow, I'm wondering how you are faring up there with all the flooding. It's been really bad in our area, but nothing compared to the news we get of all the damage in Missouri. I sure pray all is well where you are.

HI to JULIE, GEORGE, CARL, JIM L, NANCY P, MARY B, SHARON and all GLASSIES!

  • Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Lainey!

  • But Sue, the grandbaby won't know it didn't arrive on time, so all should be well. Nearly 40 years ago when we lived in Gabon in West Africa, the only way we got mail and packages were through the sporadic diplomatic pouch. Our boys were young enough (2 and 4) that they never knew we wound up celebrating Christmas in February. They were quite surprised when they were in their 20s before we happened to tell them the store of the missing and delayed pouch. 🙂

  • Hope everyone is all excited and having fun with all the holiday festivities.

Would you believe we reached 70 today. We've broken records for the mildest December ever in Oklahoma.

Still haven't gotten back into working with my glass much. I take a bit to the two malls, but just can't find the energy to photograph, write descriptions, and get the stuff on-line to sell. Really had expected to have more energy by now, but it's just doesn't seem to be a happening event. Not complaining. But I'm still pretty glued to my recliner and to crocheting presents.

SHELLY ... what is your son's name so I can look up his books? Sounds very interesting.

I have to change my avatar soon. I have about 1/2" of hair on my head now and now longer wear a head covering. 🙂

  • ~~~~~ Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Shelly~~~~~

  • Hi, glassies. I've been battling a bad cold for more than a week now. Hopefully it should start fading soon now.

MARSON ... Snow? eek! The weather has been lovely here over the past few days but I haven't been up to getting out. Still, I can enjoy it by just having the front door open and letting the sun and mild temps come in. Rest of the week to be mid to high 6os and Friday it will be 71.

FRAN 2 ... never in my life had I heard of a slide bottle and had I seen a Coricidin bottle, I would have thrown it in the trash. It's so fun to learn of different things that people collect or find useful. Sure makes treasure hunting all the more fun when there are so many different things to search for.

I posted a picture last month of me holding one of our dogs at the animal shelter. She needed to be fostered for the next 4 months, so I have her home with me now. She's just a marvelous sweetheart. If all goes well, I'll go ahead and adopt her when she's approved for adoption.

HI to JULIE, CARL, GEORGE, DON, JIM L, NANCY P, and LAINEY!

  • Hi, waving to all glassies! Quite a busy holiday week last week. Our State surely did get smacked with winter weather. Unbelievable how our little area up here in the northeast managed to dodge the bullet. Those ice storms came within a hair of crossing into our county. We managed around 4 to 6 inches of rain, but no ice. You can imagine how grateful we've all been. We reached 68 one day and dropped to 35 the next, so it's little wonder that I've come down with a cold and not feeling very spunky for now. Tomorrow the weather turns back to nice sunshine and the temp should be 50ish or so.

  • Wishing everyone a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING. I've been working down at the Senior Citizens place as a couple of the regulars have been absent. We run an all day tag sale. Also we are open for everyone to come today for a Thanksgiving dinner and expect around 100 to 125. I can't do too much, but I sit and crochet and take money for the tag sale. 🙂 One does what one can. LOL.

Hope everyone has a GRAND HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

  • ~~ Dear Lucy with daughter and husband ~~

  • LAINEY... Curt, the webmaster put a new tab up there called IMAGE WIZARD, and he has really made posting a picture as easy as 1-2-3. Now, if you are posting from your phone, I have no idea if it will work. But if you are on your computer, you will find it very user friendly.

  • **** HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALICIA! ****

  • WENDY ... the sweet little dog is Sasha. She's in the Animal Shelter where I volunteer. I just brush and comb the dogs and pet and cuddle them so that they have some human contact. She's been treated for heart worm and I was so happy yesterday afternoon when I went to the shelter to see that she had finally been moved out of quarantine and placed in the adoptable ward. 🙂

  • Good morning, glassies. I've just been whiling away the time on the internet trying to catch up on all the different groups and forums I belong to on Facebook. Incredible how much time you can burn up without realizing it, but I want to read every little bit and not miss anything.

WENDY ... is that crochet or knitting? Incredible pattern and wondering on how you do all the color changes? Do you carry the yarn or tie off? Beautiful piece.

CARL ... sorry you've got the bug. Hope you have the worst of it over and can spend a couple of days resting up from it.

DON ... I love that Ivy Scroll pattern. I have one piece...a medium size bowl in glowee green. I've had it for years and it's the only piece I've ever found in the pattern.

LAINEY ... yikes! Can't imagine having to price all that stuff for the Estate Sale. Show us some more pictures of the glassware!

    Waving hello to ALL glassies!

  • Crazy weather here. I bet Katie is getting it too. Only dropped to about 65 last night and reached about 72 or so today but the wind is gusting from 40 to 50 mph. Leaves are just falling and skittering all down the road...along with my bird feeder which is across the lawn and in pieces. I really love a day with all this gusty, blustery wind when it's still mild outside.

Went to an outdoor Veteran's Day service and the wind was so strong it was louder in the microphone than the person talking.

Came home and looked at all the glass on the dining room table, pondered it, walked over and picked up my crochet, turned on Netflix and started watching FBI cold cases.

SHELLY ... glad you could get the text adjusted to a comfort level.

CARL ... we've had a lot on the news the past 3 days about youth soccer injuries and headers. Naturally I thought of your granddaughters.

FENTON ... your items are always lovely but those candlesticks just make my heart go pitter-patter!

JANICE and MARY B... my kind of dining. I DO own dishes, but all they do is draw dust. 90% of the time I use paper plates, paper bowls, paper towels and paper cups. The Senior Citizen Center is putting on a Thanksgiving Dinner which suits me beautifully....someone to not only cook it but clean it up.

GEORGE ... I can't figure out the photo system I have on this computer. I have windows 8 and it stashes photos in places I stumble across but can never intentionally find when I want to.

  • I've started going back out to the animal shelter once a week on Fridays. I only stay about an hour or an hour and a half. I try to spend about 15 with a dog brushing and petting and cuddling. How do you like my hair? I've shed all the caps and scarves. My hair is not even 1/2 in long and it sticks straight out. I keep thinking I look like a cross between G.I. Jane and a Minion. But after being bald for 9 months, I feel like my hair is luxuriant and I love every little bit. 🙂

  • Good evening, glassies. All is well here. Just staying busier than I can imagine trying to put "9-months of doing nothing" back into some sort of order. I FINALLY had the electricians in to fix the electricity I had lost outdoors, in part of my kitchen, and in my garage months ago. Since I have all of my photography lights and tent set up in the garage, I will now no longer have an excuse to put off taking photos and listing stuff. Yikes, I can't even remember the last time I've actually listed something. I think I did a couple of things but I already had old photos in the computer so I didn't have to start from scratch.

Still have to tag stuff for my overdue run to Joplin to stock my booth. I keep looking at my dining room table piled with stuff, shake my head, and keep on walking. Someone want to come over and help me? 🙂

Battery is dead on my camera but I'll have to post some photos once I get back in the routine. Pretty well just sticking to EAPG for now.

SHELLY ... do you have a mouse that has a wheel in the center? If you hold down the CONTROL key and move that wheel at the same time, it will make the text on your screen either bigger or smaller depending which way you turn the wheel.

I tried listening to the debates tonight, but to my mind very little of substance was said and it was mainly just rhetoric. Politicians must go to school or a seminar or something on how to talk for 5 minutes without ever actually addressing the question that was asked. I finally decided to crochet and watch Alaska State Troopers on Netflix instead.

  • @gailmacphee Gail Mac... and where have you been keeping yourself all these months. Wishing you a very...

    !*!*!* HAPPY BIRTHDAY! *!*!*!

  • CARL ... not only are your carnival glass pieces drop dead gorgeous, but the way you managed to photograph them to capture the brilliant colors is amazing.

JIM L, NANCY P, SHELLY ... watching the weather on TV tonight and wondered how you all were faring in all the storm and rain.

HI to GEORGE, JULIE, JANICE, and FRAN 2.

  • Dear MARSON, surely hope you had a wonderful birthday!

  • Hello to all you sweet glassies and thank you ever so much for the lovely birthday greetings. You all have just made my day end on such a happy happy note ! I wish I could thank you all with warm hugs in person. I've had a wonderful time with friends all day long. I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with my 3 children and 7 grandchildren. My sister and I went out for a steak supper and came home to enjoy a lovely birthday cake my daughter sent from New York! This has been a most cherished day that God blessed me with. Thanks so much for all the Happy Birthday cheer !

  • SHELLY ... I've read where the Fostoria version of Paneled Diamond Point usually has Fostoria etched on the bottom...the person didn't say if it was the bottom of the bowl or the bottom of the foot...but you might want to look and see if you spot anything.

  • ~*~*~*~* HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRAN *~*~*~*~
