• Good Morning everyone. Back home after a fun weekend away with some fun friends.
Shelly @shellyrae37 It was not a swapmeet It was just a weekend away at a lovely pub tucked in off the highway right on the river.

    Happy Birthday
    Marty @sellingthings

  • Good afternoon everyone. DDG sunny winters days down here. But it was cold and foggy for awhile this morning. Fog didn't lift till about 11.a.m

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTY @sellingthings

  • Good Morning everyone. Slept in this morning and I only woke when I did because the phone was ringing LOL. Its very dark and over cast here. Looks and feels more like 5a.m not 8a.m Can't wait for when daylight savings finishes. We have a couple more weeks to go grrrr I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS
Carl @carma It is starting to sound like you will never see then end of winter and its snow.
Marty @sellingthings I hope you will be 100% fit and healthy again soon.
Marson @panishklo Sorry to hear you had not been well But pleased to see you are over it

  • Good morning, glassies. Just so sad to hear of all of you still suffering with this cold cold long long winter. It's just beyond my imagination. Chilly here in NE Oklahoma today but tons of sunshine which sure keeps one perky.

@sellingthings MARTY ... so sorry to hear of all your ills. Well, they say things come in threes, so hopefully it's all behind you now.

@panishklo MARSON ... glad to hear you have recovered from your bout of illness and are able to get back to your regular regime.

HI to CARL, DON, GEORGE, SHELLY, JANICE, BOB in KY, NANCY P, FRAN 2, REEN, and GAIL MAC.

  • @sellingthings Marty...Thank you for mentioning that there is a box to check if you don't want the item # on the label. I never noticed that either! I guess I just have to slow down and start reading things. Hope this week goes lots better for you than the last two went.

  • @sellingthings Marty, sorry to hear you're also dealing with health issues -- glad that at least it hasn't been anything major. And sending gentle {{hugs}} to Mickey.

  • Good gravy, where did the day go! Got ready for a St. Patrick’s Day luncheon and left the house @ 11:15… and didn’t get home until 5:30! What a grand time we all had. There were 10 ladies and we had a wonderful time sitting around the dining room table and gabbing, chatting, and solving all of the world’s problems. Had to pick up some milk and eggs on the way home and now it’s after 6:00. Super day.

@sellingthings MARTY … I surely hope your dear kitty perks up really quickly.

@reen REEN … Delightful picture …. and it looks like you all had as much fun as I did today. 🙂

HI to CARL, GEORGE, NANCY P, MARSON, and WENDY!

  • Greetings from chilly NJ -- at least no snow. Poor DD in Virginia got dumped on again. The National Cherry Blossom Festival in DC is supposed to start this coming weekend -- somehow I don't think there will be any cherry blossoms yet.

@allirish123 Tracy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope your special day is extra good.

@sellingthings Marty, I hope your kitten gets better fast, poor little thing.

  • Good afternoon everyone. Hot here @ 30°Celsius Though it is pleasant enough in the shade because there is a nice breeze blowing. We are in desperate need of rain , everything is starting to brown and wilt
I have my first swapmeet for the year, coming up this weekend, so have been busy getting organised and packed for it.
Shelly @shellyrae37 My lazy day turned out to be not so lazy LOL But I only did what I wanted and for some reason I wanted to move some furniture around LOL Also had Boot Camp in the afternoon. That certainly put a stop to being lazy LOL
Gail @songbreeze Get well soon (((((Hugs)))))))
**waving madly** Helen @10bbg10 Its good to see you posting.
Marty @sellingthings Beautiful items Thanks for sharing your finds
Fran @fran2 you certainly are the Queen of Google search 🙂

    Stay warm everyone
    Julie

  • Marty @sellingthings sounds like you did well.
Another thing I look into when trying to decide on the going price of items is Not only the end price or how many items have sold but also how many ppl were bidding on that item. That is also a good indicator on how many ppl out there are interested in said item.
    Julie..having a reasonably lazy day

  • Good Morning everyone. Monday is usually my sleep in day but I am up early. I had the grandchildren over the weekend. DGS first sleep over with grandma. All went well and we had a great time. I slept very well last night LOL
Marty @sellingthings I am not Carl but from what you have said the salver sounds like a good deal. But as Shelly said also make sure you check to see how many of the same item have not sold.
    Jullie

  • @favoritegram Lainey, Happy Birthday!!

@sellingthings Marty, the "redo" of the grandkids' photo is wonderful! And kudos to your GS for his good plans.

    @carma Beautiful granddaughters!!

I got a new PC last February -- because I wanted to be sure I could still get Windows 7. I never allow Microsoft to automatically download updates -- I have to approve them. We drove home from visiting DD in Virginia yesterday -- poured rain all the way but only a few spots of traffic (unlike driving down on Christmas -- no traffic!) Thursday we're supposed to have a mix of rain and snow and then Friday the temperature drops to a high of 18.

  • Good morning, glassies. Hoping for an uneventful day where I can get some glass work done...photos, listing, researching, etc.

@carma CARL ... sure hope you all manage the winter storm with minimal difficulty. From what I've been listing to on the TV it sounds like it will be brutal. Such a darling granddaughter and know how proud you are of her.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Oh, I really empathize with you trying to learn a new system on your computer. I need to think about getting a new computer but just dread the difficulty involved. If you are missing any bookmarks that you particularly like, just send me a list as I have a ton of glass booksmarks.

@donscns DON ... we had brutal cold yesterday, but today are suppose to reach 50°. The temps will be up and down this week but nothing as cold as yesterday.

@sellingthings MARTY ... Your grandson sounds like a wonderful young man with a good head on his shoulders. I loved the Christmas picture of the 4 grandkids....beautiful.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I always told my kids that a lot of kids were raised a lot better than them that turned out a lot worse...and a lot of kids were raised a lot worse than them that turned out a lot better...so I'll only take half the blame. No, I won't win mother-of-the-year award, but I believe kid's have a good deal of responsibility for their actions and also have a good deal of control on their future. Was it Lincoln that said most of us are about as happy as we want to be...

    Good morning, GEORGE!

  • @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... There's a lady on FB that knew Lucy's family. I don't know if she is still in touch but I sent her a message and asked so hopefully she will respond.

    @suzy SUZY ... what a sweet kitty-kitty. I can't get Blue to sit still for a photo.

@wjweese WENDY ... I'm not quite as detailed as you, but nonetheless, I keep a record of what has been sent for birthdays and Christmas of 7 adults and 7 grandchildren.

@sellingthings MARTY ... love the photo of your furkids too!

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... Like Wendy, I don't worry about a repeat of items with the family. But I SURE have done that with glass! I hate when I don't remember I already have a piece in a pattern and buy a second one. I just did that with 2 Aztec cruets. What makes it so bad is that Aztec is a design I'm not even particularly fond of.

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... you always have pretty pieces of glass, but never any that I know an ID for! Sorry I can't be of help.

    Hi, GEORGE!

  • Oh my, don't know where the day went. Still playing catch-up.

@donscns DON ... thank you so very much for posting the coffee while I was gone. I truly appreciate your help.

@favoritegram LAINEY ... just look over to the right column of the screen and you will see "How To Post a Picture Link."

@dbfrogs FRAN and @suzy SUZY ... adorable grandsons! They are all so precious.

@sellingthings MARTY ... thanks for the link for the Atterbury CADs, interesting article.

I still haven't unpacked my suitcase. Going to bed early and get a good nights rest. Everything can wait til tomorrow. 🙂

  • Good Morning everyone. A DDG Spring day predicted for us today. Yesterday ended up very dusty and very windy in the arvo and it was hot. They say the hottest September day on record.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Having 2 year olds with us, we didn't see it all. but my eice and I plan to take them back again and we can see other parts.
Gail @songbreeze yes It was gorgeous
Marty @sellingthings sounds like a perfect place
    Reen @reen thanks
    Julie

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... thanks for the information. I'm not having difficulty with the card...it is when I hook up the USB cable...which I prefer to do. But it's surely good to know how to clean a card when necessary. Thanks.

    ??????????
I found 5 little demi-tasse cups that hold 2 1/2 oz. They are Fostoria in Rose with the Trojan etch. They are the cups only...no saucers. Can't locate a possible BV or MV for them. Appreciate any help or ideas.

  • @nona NANCY JEAN ... just doing better and better each day. I just returned from WalMart and did all my shopping pushing a cart instead of having to use a riding one. 🙂 I fixed a very nice supper last night that I shared with my sister and even made chocolate pudding for dessert. Big difference from supper being either cold cereal or carry-out because I wasn't cooking. I'm still having my rest period but feeling perkier by the minute.

@sellingthings MARTY ... Are you confusing Chris's Pitcher with something else? Waterford made a lot of pitcher shapes.. http://search.replacements.com/texis/search?order=ClientCount-d&query=waterford%20+pitcher

@webmaster CURT ... thanks for all your help.

@reen REEN . the triangular shape on is HICKMAN aka LA CLEDE aka JUBILEE made by McKee Brothers (1897) then by Federal Glass Co. (1914)

    HI to MARSON and CARL!

  • Well, that was a nice little coffee break with sister.

@sellingthings MARTY ... sorry, I don't know your little dish

HI to NANCYJEAN, GEORGE, and BOB.

  • @sellingthings Hi Marty. I looked up the 2496 bowl in Long and Seate,s Guide and there are as Bob says, fleur de lis present. HTH

    Nancyjean

  • Good morning, glassies. Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I did not post a birthday greeting for Mabel. I just decided that if we had not heard from someone in a year's time that I'd just by-pass the birthday greeting. The last time Mabel posted was Dec 8, 2011 !!!

@sellingthings MARTY ... It's going to take longer than a couple of days to perk up from this procedure. I feel like I got kicked in the chest by a horse. 🙂

@donscns DON ... thanks for posting the coffee. It looks like I'm going to have to go back 2 more times to get all this finished up. Right now I'm scheduled for Sept 4 for the next go-around.

Good morning to KATIE and GEORGE!

  • Good afternoon everyone. It was a wintery day for us down here. No sunshine like we have been getting. But I guess all of you that REALLY have a winter would laugh at mine. Its not what you would really call winter LOL Today minimum 3Celsius Maximum 19C
Marty @sellingthings Sorry to hear about your friend
Suzy @suzy Thanks for the update on Gail. We can all rest easy now, knowing she is doing well.
What a cute little bloke in the pool. Thanks for sharing the pics.
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. Hope everyone is within arms reach of an air conditioner.

@sellingthings MARTY ... what a great haul! Must have been lots of fun. I particular love any of the brocade patterns...so pretty!

    HI to DON and GEORGE!

  • Morning all: Love the bluebird photos @sellingthings

No luck at the thrift store this a.m. Everyone have a safe day.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Home at last. Friend drove me over to Ketchum and we got my booth all packed up and cleaned out except for one cabinet that wouldn't fit in her car. Will get it later. My friend wanted to check out some other malls so we drove to Afton, Fairland, Grove, and then had to stop at a Farmer's Market, and finally home to unload all the bags and boxes. The temperature depending on which thermometer you looked at was 98° or 99° with high humidity. This certainly was not the day the doctor ordered, but had to be done nonetheless. Sitting in front of the a/c and 2 fans drinking ice water.

@sellingthings MARTY ... Thanks for the link...it was for REEN. I thought she said she bought something off of ETSY and had not received the item.

  • Good afternoon everyone. My day with Miss P , She is such a joy to have. Growing up so quickly and she never ceases to amaze me with the things she says and knows LOL At the age of 30 mnths she can count to 10, no problems and can sing her ABC, though she does get stuck in a few places But so cute listening to her attempt it. While she is having her nap I get to play a little on the computer and when she wakes Grandma is going to draw Hopscotch on the driveway and we will have a game of that. (If I can remember how it goes LOL)
Katie @fryqueen I hope you get you health back real soon.
Irene @jmart8248 Another term you maybe could use for your earings is "aurora borealis"
Marty @sellingthings Glad you are relaxing &enjoying your day
Bob @glassusa I was going to tell you how to print from Firefox but looks like you have worked it out
    Julie

  • @sellingthings Marty , That blue bird is beautiful. They seem to be more plentiful than usual. When we were picnicking in our DGDs back yard last week I thought a saw a bluebird in some heavy shrubbery at the back of her yard. Haven't thought to ask her if she had seen it.

  • @sellingthings Marty, Happy Birthday!

@carma Glad you & the Jeep are okay.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I’ve been out running a bunch of errands. Just got home and got all the groceries put up. I have church later this evening so for awhile I think I’ll hit the recliner and just enjoy the new book that was in the mail…”Lotus: Depression Glass and Fare Beyond” by Dean Six.

@dianes DIANE … take a look at my profile. I just typed in Ruby Lane Shop and the url under the ”About Me” section. Or check Marty’s @sellingthings to see how he set up all his different sites.

DIANE … I don’t know how to tell the Smith from the Wright but I believe it is NANCY P @jerseystar who collects Moon & Star and may be able to help when she checks in.

@reen REEN … how in the world do you keep up with yourself! Yikes, what a bunch of work! I’m sure it’s greatly appreciated.

@10bbg10 HELEN … so glad to see you checking in. I was just thinking about you the past couple of days and just starting to wonder if I should worry.

HI to TOADBOY, GEORGE, IRENE M, RUTH and KATIE!

  • @sellingthings MARTY … I’m not quite certain what you mean when you say you want an ID. It is as you said …Daisy and Button, Degenhart , probably 1970s. All the new vaseline…Degenhart, Boyd, Mosser glows like crazy. Shown on page 77 of TAGF’s Degenhart Glass and Paperweights. BV in 2003 for Vaseline was $12/15.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … The Steamfest sounds like great fun and very interesting. Do you attend?

@wellingtonct LAURIE … Good to see you. Hope all is well.

@dianes DIANE … Oh, I wish I could help you as that is just a gorgeous vase, but I haven’t a clue.

@carma CARL … glad to know it might be the internet and not my computer. I finally shut the computer off and went out and ran errands. Finally got back on and got my items listed.

@10bbg10 HELEN … sure been a while since you posted and was starting to worry about you. Glad to see you posting.

HI to CHRIS, GEORGE, MARSON, KATIE, FENTON, and SHELLY!

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... Congratulations on your sales!

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I don't know much at all about Swedish glass. Would love to see a picture.

  • @dianes DIANE ... I went to Amazon in their book category and typed in Baccarat Crystal and also Baccarat Glass and a few books came up in the search.

@sellingthings MARTY ... just lovely arrangements your DW has created. Wish I had a talent for decorating.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I do believe you brought me good luck! An item I listed on RL the other day just sold. Happy me. 🙂

  • @sellingthings Marty. Good for you! I think I expressed a similar attitude some time ago when someone seemed to think that getting it out of their inventory at any price was a good idea.

  • @fyrqueen KATIE ... You can always let a Seller know ... it's only auction interference if you let the Bidder know...something one used to be able to do when you could see the bidder's user ID.

    @sellingthings MARTY ... yes, indeed, Indiana's Hobnail.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... hope the day cools off for you.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... Sweetie is for sure a sweetie!

HI to MARY B, DON, CARL, FRAN2, SHELLY, MARSON, GEORGE, & REEN.

  • Good Morning everyone. Another hot one ahead for us today. It's 8a.m and already its starting to feel uncomfortably hot. There is a slight chance we may get a little bit of rain this arvo. I hope so.
Sister phoned me at 6a.m and we went to a garage sale and then out for breakfast.
    Marson @panishklo stay safe

    Happy BIrthday Kasi @kasi
    and Happy Anniversary Marty @sellingthings

  • Good morning, glassies. I'm selling a set of plates, 2 plates for one price....and I have 5 sets. A buyer asked how much to ship all 10 to California. The plates each weigh 1" 3 oz, so I was trying to figure out which box would fit all 10, what would be a safe way to pack it, trying to estimate how much packing material would weigh. Turns out the buyer is also a seller and has a FedEx account and can send a pre-paid label. Still trying to work that out as we have no FedEx office here in town. My sister said she used FedEx once and they came to the house and picked the item up. Hope they can do so with these dishes. For now, I'm going to sit down and start wrapping and find out exactly how much they weigh.

@sellingthings MARTY .... CONGRATULATIONS on your Anniversary!!!!!

  • Well I have managed to stay reasonably cool down here. I walked outside and there is a slight southerly breeze blowing now so it is pleasant sitting on my front verandah with the shade blinds down.So no frying for me LOL
Marty @sellingthings I am sure Scarlett is going to give you lots of pleasure and much love.
    Julie

  • Amber @amber1986 The rubber toys one can put food in are great Debbie/Talantd ( she was member from the old Glass Board and I had the pleasure of staying with her on my trip over there in 2007) used one for her little dog.

Marty @sellingthings I have never sold on any of the FB sites . I tell myself one of these days I'll give it a go. BTW congrats on your sale and for being about to get yourself a new furkid
    Julie

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Busy day and evening ahead for me, but wanted to pop in and say HI to everyone.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... we are so lucky here in NE Oklahoma. We have strong wind and cold, wind chill in the 20s, but blue sky and sunshine. I really feel for all of you caught in the blizzards. The news on television looks awful.

@maryr MARYMELODEE ... so sorry you have been under the weather. Surely glad your vase arrived OK. That would have had my heart going pitty-pat until I knew all was safe.

@sellingthings MARTY ... oh my, I see you are stuck in all that weather too. Terrible!

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... You asked how well EAPG sold. In my area it's probably one of the worst things to try to sell. Most people don't seem to know what it is. If you try to talk about it they usually say "oh, is that like Depression Glass?" I do my best to let the mall owner's learn about it. I have one booth in Joplin strictly selling EAPG. I don't sell much there, but over the past year it's picking up a little. That's one reason I was so glad that I managed to sell all the items in two different patterns. Means to me that people are starting to realize that there actually ARE patterns.

Here are pics of my booth. Oh, there is one set of candlesticks someone must have stuck on the shelf because they aren't EAPG and belong in my other hodge-podge booth. A lot of you may laugh at how unsophisticated my little booth looks...sure saw beautiful malls when I traveled through Indiana and Ohio that puts ours to shame. But anyway, it's my little area of heaven that I love to putter around and stock.

  • @sellingthings: Yes, I've been to that website before. I subscribe to "Model Railroader" magazine & they run ads for the place with the website URL every month. Would love to go see it, but I doubt I'll be anywhere near Cincinnati in the foreseable future. But, thanks for posting the link anyway.

  • Good Morning everyone. Had breakfast out with my sister
It is Officially our first day of summer here today. Yesterday was brutal,The heat over whelming. We did get an evening thunderstorm and rain but it did nothing to cool things down. Today is predicted to be even hotter then yesterday 🙁
Marty @sellingthings speaking from experience Be very cautious about getting anything BEAGLE. Very very very naughty , adorable and OH so loving but very very naughty. They remain in the puppy stage all of their life. It takes a very special kind of person to be able to cope with a beagle . Ask anyone that's ever owned one LOL. Some of the members here will remember my daily posts on the old eBay GB, when we were babysitting my DD's Beagle. Never a dull moment LOL
Gail @songbreeze your neighbourhood, where you grew up with everyone having a dog, was the same as mine and we fed them the same way too 🙂 Our dogs down here though never required Rabies shots, we don't have that here.
Helen @10bbg10 I can't help you with your shipping query
Julie..A/C on a all prepared to stay indoors for the day

  • @sellingthings Marty no candy that I know of in this line. Possibly a spoon holder. If you have Reilly & Jenks it as a list of the reproductions.

  • @sellingthings Marty the bowl is 4 1/4 tall. Inside diameter 4 1/16" outside 4 9/16 and the base 3 5/8"

  • Thought I had better report in to the group.
@sellingthings Marty, Sorry you had to go through such trials to be a PEO for that precinct. But glad you got the job done.Thank you!!!
@shellyrae37 Shelly, I do most of my glass and china pictures inside but need a sunny day to get enough light at my picture taking station.I do try to take some of the clothing picures out side. But DH just made some what I hope will be improvements for the clothing picture taking area.I've been trying to get my Christmas stuff in my store. Will get back to clothing in a few days.
@songbreeze Gail---- beautiful berry / sauce bowls.

  • Good Morning everyone. Received a bit of rain over night. That should at least settle the dust & pollen for a bit.
Amber @amber1986 thanks for my first giggle of the day. Can just imagine how funny your friend Flipper must have been LOL
Oh Marty @sellingthings how very very sad that you had to put up with all that Some ppls behaviour is just beyond beleif
    Julie

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... Gee, I could put up with a whole lot of grief if someone would give me $120 for the day!!! 😆

  • Good morning, glassies. Got a good night's sleep plus sleeping in a bit later this morning.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Hopefully today I think I will just sit around the house, maybe take some photos, try to ID a couple of things, write up some descriptions and just enjoy the computer and the glass. Keeping my fingers crossed that that's the way the day will unfold. Of course, you know the old joke.....How do you make God laugh? Tell him you made plans. 🙂

@carma CARL ... glad you aren't getting slammed by the bad weather. I'm sure 1 to 3 inches of snow are nothing to you. Could stop traffic here in Oklahoma. 😀

@sellingthings MARTY ... I LOVE being retired. I think there are exceedingly few jobs--paid or volunteer--where dealing with people doesn't include dealing with disgruntled souls. Glad that at the start of the day I no longer have to super glue a smile to my face.

Hello to all the sweet people I missed last night as I was half asleep all evening. HI to REEN, GEORGE, TAMMY, HELEN, IRENE M, NANCY P and anyone I missed. Hmmmmmm, where's DON been the last couple of days?

  • Good Morning everyone.
Amber @amber1986 Yes Miss P & I have lots of fun together. I always have music going here, so we sing and dance around the place like idiots LOL Oh and I have taught her some knew phrases..so cute one being "Peace man" while doing the peace signs with her fingers LOL
Helen @10bbg10 I looked again at Gails RL and I still do not get what you get. Maybe it is like Don says a tracking thingame bob that you need to clean out of your computer.
Marty @sellingthings WTG on your first sale on RL 🙂
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone.
Hi Kasi @kasi Nice to see you pop in here for visit. I too have been following your stem cell progress on FB
Gail @songbreeze Thanks for the update on NancyP
BTW Good Luck with Ruby Lane. I hope you do well
    Reen @reen (((Hugs))))
JimD @newtonenterprises Glad you came through Sandy OK
Marty @sellingthings Good Luck with your RL store
Reen @reen the above hug was when I read your earlier post that you were going to sit with your friend. And as I finally reached the top of my scroll and refreshed I saw your last post. My heartfelt condolences to you & Diane's family. More ((((((hugs)))))
    Julie

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... goodonya! It looks terrific!

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... Congratulations! What is the name of your store?

  • Good morning, glassies! Really enjoying the day so far. Grand to sleep in late and then wake up to all the lovely birthday greetings and chocolate!

I'm looking forward to playing with glass today. Bought a lot at the auction last night and want to get it all washed up and then I'll post pictures. 🙂

@sellingthings MARTY ... your bowl is U.S. Glass Co. #15095, BRILLIANT (OMN) aka PANELED PALM, 1906.

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... don't think the relish is EAPG. The bowl looks like it was made by Lancaster.

  • Good afternoon everyone. My day with Miss P 🙂 SHe is sleeping so now I can "play"' on the puter LOL
    Carl @carma
PLeased to herar there was no major damage from the earthquake
Lainey @favoritegram I have, well no, I HAD the very same pair of stems as the one you showed in your pic right up until a couple of months ago.Could never get an ID on them, so decided to sell them. They had sat in my cupboard for years.
Marty @sellingthings Glad you got a good report

  • Good evening Glass Friends,
Been a busy day. Finally got my new printer / scanner to print. Also got an imaging program that I think I can work with. Not as straight forward and simple as the one I was using before the computer crash--- but workable.
Added several items to my store. Read all the boards. Processed some book orders and a couple of ebay orders.

@songbreeze Gail, I hope you had a restful and peaceful day.
@reen I looked at your closed listings. Lots of interesting items. Loved those hats.
@sellingthings ---Marty, I hope the Cameo server is the real thing. And that you get it. Wish i knew the pattern for your little green tumbler.
Think I'll be off for my bed & book now.

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... Looks like an EAPG pattern by New Martinsville known as Lacy Daisy. I'm guessing this is a reproduction as I don't think it was ever made in cobalt.

    Saying HI to ALL glassies!

@reen REEN ... sorry, but I'm no help at all when it comes to oil lamps.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... hope the medicine continues to give you some relief from your allergies.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... hope you have a really fun ...and profitable... time at your Swap Meet.

  • @sellingthings Marty , I agree with abzoid. Except my conditions would be if the deal is not good for you to buy and sell for your self then walk away. The present owners know they have a desirable commodity but they do not YET know how much effort it takes to turn that commodity into cash.

@wattleihavenext Julie --- Congratulations on your sale. I would not like to pack that set. LOL

  • Good morning, glassies. Busy getting stuff ready to take to the Ketchum Mall this afternoon. Taking a coffee break for now.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … sorry that little Miss P is under the weather. Have you tried ear muffs for both of you? At the first sign of winter I put mine on and they don’t come off til Spring. Might help with all the wind.

@amber1986 AMBER … very pretty bowl. I don’t know who made it but it looks like a lovely contemporary Mikasa piece.

@donscns DON … eBay would like the return policy be for any reason or even for no reason…no questions asked. Their new automated return policy (if a Seller chooses to ”opt in”) is like that. Personally, I’d block anyone who tried to return something because the color was different than they thought. When I have a piece where color might be misconstrued, I always place a crayon with the color name label showing and say their monitor should match the crayon. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110936263748&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Granted most people don’t have a box a colors laying around, but I still think one’s monitor shouldn’t be too far off. Rim chip that I had missed would horrify me and I’d gladly give a partial refund if it were part of a set. If the color were OK for you, I’m sure you would have been satisfied with a partial refund. If this is a pitcher/tumbler set, the cost of return shipping also presents a headache for either the Buyer or the Seller. When all’s said and done, it’s not an easy choice to make as to what to do. It’s a hassle to fight for return, but at the same time, you don’t want to keep something that is going to make your jaw tighten up every time you walk past it. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

@sellingthings MARTY…. I can understand the first part of your return policy but starting with PLEASE NOTE, well, that would turn me right off and I’d hit the back button.

  • @sellingthings Marty, that is one cute puppy. We seem to have gained a cat. Had one on the front drive yesterday. Then today the cat was lolling under the car in the garage. I think it might be a stray tom cat.
Isn't there some saying that you can sometimes tell the sex of a cat by how many colors of fur they have?

  • Hi All,

Hope all is well with everyone and hopefully we don't have any glassies in the path of Hurricane Issac.

@wattleihavenext - Julie one of my goals if I should be blessed to win the big one in the lottery is to visit your wonderful Ocean Pools(warmer weather though(G)). And the walk sounds absolutely beautiful.

@donscns - Why would a seller think that it would go away. Glad you got your money back.

@amber1986 - if you know the name of your file you can always do a search of it on your computer. I never have used any of the programs that came with my camera. I just transfer them manually to my computer via explore.

@sellingthings - You should give simply smart milk a try, no fat but doesn't taste like water. Worth the price, plus it stores for a month if you don't open it. I also write Hood every so often asking for coupons. I also use to consume a lot of chocolate and soda, but now I have in moderation. Been on a lifestyle change to drop some weight, and I will never give up my Oreos & Milk before bed. One thing that opened up my eyes was using an online site called calorie count. I never realized how much sodium I was taking in and I have never added salt to things.

    Bear 🙂

  • Good morning to all of my glassie friends,
Been up for over and hour. Always in need of catching up on some chores that can be done on the computer.
Having one of the last of our peaches. Delicious!!!
Had a nice rain on Monday-- probably 1 1/4 inches or more. Nice sunny day yesterday. DH had appointment with urologist for a medical procedure. Had to have DGD deliver me to the dentist for my partial plate pre-fitting . DH picked me up. Nice to have family close for such things.
@itsagas ----Bill, pretty carnival glass vase.
@sellingthings Marty, who do you think you are kidding when you mention your BH having you on a glass buying budget----- or for that matter having you on a diet? Guess I could say ' break a leg.' Isn't that the traditional theater Good Luck" greeting? Instead , if your wife really wants to slow you down tell her to 'break your hip'. That is what did it for me. No more church sales, garage or estate sales. I gave up auctions for Lent some 10 years ago. And have been inside a thrift store only once since coming home from rehab.
And --- @reen --- Auctiva will give telephone number only if you pay that $5.99 per month for that service.

  • @reen REEN ... sorry, but that bowl just is drawing a big blank from me. I don't know of a pattern with that very thin rib to it.

@sellingthings MARTY ... This is an interesting little e-book about Sooner/Ozark glass. Gives an interesting look at the various mom and pop operations of these glass blowers. http://www.ozarkartglass.com/

  • Good Morning everyone. Weather is just DDG today. Spring is just around the corner, you can feel it in the air.
Bill @itsagas WTG!! on your pitcher it is DDG.
Marty @sellingthings for what its worth, I second Gails ID on your swan. I did have a site bookmarked but for the love of me I can not find it.
    Julie

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... on third thought, maybe not. Don't guess I've ever looked at the bottom of a Sooner Swan to know if it is ground. Will have to look next time I'm out.

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... All those Sooner Glass / Ozark Glass Swans are blown glass so I would think there would definitely be tool marks on them to help shape them. To me that is definitely Sooner/Ozark.

  • Good Morning everyone. Chilly start to the day but at least the sun is shining and should warm things up a little as the day progresses. Water temps were a tad chilly too LOL brrrrr

LOL @ deafness. JimD @newtonenterprises & Marty @sellingthings Down here it is called "selective hearing"
    Don @donscns DDG!!

  • Good morning, glassies.

@sunwoman3663 JANICE ... Good to see you posting. I'm sorry your DSIL continues to decline. Prayers for him and all the family. Glad you are continuing in a positive direction.

@sellingthings MARTY ... lovely 3-section Cambridge dish. Looks like you have all the ID info needed for it. Very pretty.

@reen REEN ... hope you are feeling better and managing the BP ok. Whenever mine has jumped too high, the doctor usually just adjusts my medication and that has worked well for me.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... wow! terrific auction!!!! That will be exciting to watch the end of it!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... all kinds of crazy things are going on with eBay. Check out these articles....

    HI to HELEN and DON!

  • Good morning Glass Friends,

Greetings to all. I'm feeling far too lazy to greet individuals. Maybe after I finish my cappuccino I'll be up to that.
Looks like we might get a a bit of rain. Bits of rain is all that we have had for at least 2 months.
Working on pictures and recording measurements of clothing which I need to list.

@sunwoman3663 Nice to see you here. Come back often ! My prayers for you DSIL. .

@sellingthings Marty , I found a large set of those Alice dishes in a house that we bought in 1977. I used them then DD used them for a while. I finally sold them early on after Martha Stewart set off the craze for most anything with that jade green color. Got a good price but not what they are selling for in today's market.

A few months back I sold a set of rusty scissors on the strength of that jade green color.

Gotta get on with drinking that cappuccino now.

    Talk to y'all later.

  • Good Morning everyone. Off to Mum's today to do her shopping and have lunch with her. Think I might do a spot of my own shopping while on the go up there. A few Op shops I haven't had a chance to visit in a long time. I just may take my time today and have a look around. And there is a new Antique shop opened on the way, just a short detour of the highway. So I am going to have a look there too.
Katie @fyrqueen after this swapmeet I get to have a few weekend breaks before the next.
Helen @10bbg10 I hope all goes well for you today at the dentist.
Marty @sellingthings & Fenton @ohiostar Congrats on your lovely finds
When I get a chance I must get some pics of my Vallerysthal stems I purchased while on my trip for "show & tell"
Gail @songbreeze I suppose it all boils down to what a person has to do, they have to do that gives us our push to get the jobs done.

    Julie

  • Good morning Glass Friends,

@fyrqueen Katie , The raised pattern on your Turkish fabric might be called 'flocked.'

@sellingthings Marty , Congrats to your GS and his team for having gone this far in the MM World Series. I hope they continue to do well.

@shellyrae37 Shelley, Hope your visit to the doctor was good.

I've been trying for days to think of the proper name for this miniature set.
    http://i45.tinypic.com/2h6vx9t.jpg

    Thanks for your help.

  • @fyrqueen KATIE ... Well, we could always meet in the center...How far are you from Springfield, Missouri? I'm 2 hours from there. Have dog, will travel. 🙂

@suzy SUZY ... sure hope you are having a wonderful day!

@amber1986 AMBER ... so very glad to hear the little girl will soon have a permanent home...and that you all can continue to have contact with her.

@sellingthings MARTY ... Wonderful picture of your DGD. Congratulations on her win!

    @dave DAVE .... fascinating article!

  • Its raining!!! Its pouring!!! The old man was snoring but I woke him up to see the rain.

Interesting discussion about the Fenton glass.

@sellingthings Marty, Glad to hear that the results of the tests were good. Sorry to hear of the VA management problems.

  • Good morning, glassies.

@sellingthings MARTY ... so very very glad to hear the good news on the biopsy. Sorry you are having to deal with paperwork foul-up.

Yesterday was the day that wouldn't end. Had to take friend to Tulsa for doctor's visit...wait wait wait wait wait. Didn't get home til about 6:15. Not home even 30 minutes when friend in nursing home called and needed me to carry him to WalMart. Got back home about 7:30 and had a message on my phone from another friend who is disabled and having an emotional rough day, so trotted over to her place to try to cheer her up. Made it home in time to watch Love in the Wild....what a load of garbage that is...but I follow it anyway! 😀

Getting ready to leave out shortly, pick up a friend and head to Chouteau to do some antiquing. Unfortunately it's suppose to be 102° today with a heat index between 105-110°. Might just find one big mall that's air conditioned and stay put. Half way wanted to go to Wagoner where there are about 5 different shops, but getting in and out of the car in this heat just might not play out today. Will just have to see once I hit the road.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Was so tired from yesterday that I slept in late, only to have my sister drop by and say she had just come from the new Fleamarket...and she rented a booth. Slapped some clothes on, grabbed a coca-cola, and headed back out of town to help her set up her booth. Just got home. 102° outside. Yikes!

@fyrqueen KATIE ... so glad your DD is doing better.

@donscns DON ... so glad, too, to hear you seem to be free of the eye problem.

@sellingthings MARTY ... hopefully you are in a win-win situation....either it's nothing or if any treatment is needed you can begin right away and nip it in the bud.

@kasi KASI ... so good to see you checking in. Surely hope the treatment improves your knee and does so quickly. Keep us posted.

@mary cxgirl MARY ... hopefully REEN will be in and able to help you with your lamps. They look awfully dark to be sun-purpled. Either they were made in amethyst or else someone has artificially nuked them.

@reen REEN ... I'm not too familiar with Pyrex. Would this site help at all? http://www.pyrexlove.com/vintage-pyrex-pattern-guide/

HI to GEORGE, HELEN, and AMBER!

  • I started my post yesterday but somehow got waylaid. Just found another batch of books. I had stored my book research books in another room. Noticed those and decided that it was time for them to go.

@fyrqueen Katie, I hope you have good news from your DD. But suspect that you are off to Atlanta since you have not posted today. Or maybe just out on the hunt.

@sellingthings Marty --- Thinking of you. I think I am particularly conscious of esophageal problems as much of my ill health stems from that.

@amber1986 I hope you little girl is doing well. How about some pictures. Maybe I'll get a new pic of our Great Grand Son. He was here yesterday. GGP left a squirting hose for him. He soon realized that he could make GGM squeal if he pointed the hose at her.

@songbreeze I wish your newly minted antique dealer friend much success. She has a huge advantage having you for an adviser.

  • Good morning, glassies. The household helper is here so we're busy getting things done about the house. Boxing up a sale and have to hit the Post Office before long.

@shellyrae37 ... Sold an item Monday on BIN and still no payment. I can understand that if it were an auction that someone had a snipe bid on and so maybe couldn't be at their computer for a while. But if they have to be at the computer for a BIN and PayPal is their only payment option, can't understand why it's not paid for immediately. Maybe I should put that somewhere in my preferences where a BIN has to have an immediate payment.

I did not get a notice of the eBay sale from eBay ... I read about it this morning in the eCommercebytes newsletter. 50,000 free listings....(do I hear "made in china") . The sale does NOT include store owners.

HI to AMBER, HELEN, GEORGE, & DON!
@sellingthings MARTY ... wishing you a very good result from the biopsy and hope you get to feeling better soon.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I take it your sales are from Craig's List. I just had no luck in trying to sell a item on CL. I just wound up with a dozen different spam emails... 🙁

  • @fyrqueen Katie , You have been really wheeling and dealing. I know that it feels good to have some other person own it.

@sellingthings Marty, I've no idea what your pretty little dresser jar is.

Hope that tumor will be of little or no concern.

Will be anxious to hear how the flea market went for Carl.

I'm having banana / blue berry pudding. DD brought us enough for two helpings each.

I have been working on revising BIN listings to auction listings. Then trying to do one entirely new auction. It is coming back to me but I have to relearn everything. Took the first pictures that I've taken since early March.

Hope everyone has had a good day with a better one to come tomorrow.

  • Shelley @shellyrae37 Fantastic sale !!! Hope you get many more of them.

Carol @ginnyrose Haven't seen you here before. Come back soon and often. I know nothing about your stemware. In fact I don't know much about anything.

Katy @fyrqueen Hope your back gets better fast. Love your pink Pyrex. Some years 7-8 back I was cruising a neighborhood sale when I saw a pretty complete set of pink Club aluminum in the on the curb side garbage. I grabbed it . Sold it the next week on eBay. I have the turquoise set which I've been using for more than 50 years. I love my set and my cast iron skillets.

Marty @sellingthings Great design on your stand of clay pot planter. Will keep your construction instructions.

We continue to have hot dry weather. I think the steady sapping of the quite constant wind that we have been having is almost as damaging as the lack of ground moisture.

  • Well, it's 105° downtown.....

@suzy SUZY ... I got that perch a couple of months ago and that is the only ledge she will use. There is one higher and no amount of enticement will get her to jump up there. I think she's to big and fat. Maybe had I gotten it when she was smaller and more agile, she may have learned to maneuver it. She doesn't use the bottom 2 shelves either so I've turned those areas into more sorely-needed bookcases for me. 🙂

@sellingthings MARTY ... sorry, but I don't know who made your tumblers.

SUZY, MARSON, & DON.... Thanks for the pat on the back! 5 years, but I still can use all the affirmation I can get! 🙂

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... your auction looks just fine. I thought FRAN2's suggestion to log out...then punch in the number...sounds really good. I'll have to try that when sometimes my gallery pic doesn't seem to show or some gremlin appears to land in the middle of my listing.

@sellingthings MARTY ... always glad to hear one of the coffees has hit the spot for someone and brought a smile. Thanks!

HI to JULIE, KATIE, DON, FRAN2, & GEORGE!

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... ditto what @itsagas BILL said... nothing appears. I click on Selling and it just takes me to my regular Selling Manager page.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY So how will it work? Say you list 50 items...and pay the insertion fee. You get really lucky and sell one item for $1,000 and one item for $2,000 and one item for $500. Do you then have to delete the remaining 47 items for the month??????????

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... where abouts did you find that on your My eBay?

  • @sellingthings MARTY .. in Nancy Wanvig’s ”Collector’s GUide to Ashtrays” page 37, it shows yours and says it was made by Federal Glass Co., probably late 20s, early 30s.

The green bowl looks like a small mixing bowl and looks like ones made by Hazel Atlas.

  • Been at this computer for the past 6 hours working my head off. Must get up and walk around and get the circulation going again.

@donscns DON ... Isn't it terribly painful to have a sty? Crimeny, why do they have to wait so long to fix it? Hope it's not giving you too much grief.

@carma CARL ... so glad you had a profitable Flea Market!

@sellingthings MARTY ... don't know your stuff, but will check my books and see if I can find anything.

HI to AMBER, KATIE, & JANICE!

  • Happy Birthday, Marty @sellingthings !!!

A cool, cloudy day in NJ -- but tomorrow the heat comes in (for the first day of Summer). Will start cooling off with t'storms on Friday.

  • Gail----@songbreeze That book of yours must hold a wealth of information.
Been a busy day here. Household helper was here cleaning. We enjoy her company as well as accomplish a lot of chores and cleaning.

Marty---@sellingthings Around here one would never wait until the stated opening time to hit garage sales. And many times neighborhood sales have a revue on the evening before the sale is to open.

  • Good Morning everyone. still raining here. Yard is one big mush. Inside of house is a pigsty because I am sorting all the wet stuff from the weekend as well as sorting and packing more items for the Antique Show end of month.
Reen @reen What a thoughtful Dh to bring you home something special .
Carl @carma sounds like lots of fun going through your containers. Dh had a nice collection of padlocks. I sold some on ebay and did well and others went to the Swapmeets. Lots of interest in them down here. Also Old Keys seem to be popular too.
Marty @sellingthings Good luck at that GS
Bill @itsagas beautiful bowl but I know nothing.
    Julie

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... I looked in TAGF Kitchenware book but in spite of a gazillion reamers pictured I still couldn't spot yours.

@nona NANCYJEAN ... sorry to hear there have been rocks in the road for you. Glad to see you posting though and hope everything is running smoother for you now.

  • Good afternoon Glass Friends,
Still busy here trying to catch up with putting books on my book listing database. Found a batch that had some moisture damage. About to get that shelf cleared off. Now to dispose of the damaged books. I think our trash disposal service will not pick them up if we put more than a dozen out at once. Then must convince DH that the outside of the wall where the water came in probably needs some fill dirt. He thinks more dirt might hurt the hostas planted there.
And I am trying to think through just what I want to do about my eBay store. Think I need to either fish of cut bait. Do I want to offer a 14 day return? Can't decide.
@songbreeze Gail , You are always so helpful to all of us when it comes to identifying glass. I'm not surprised that you are helpful to your local friends even if you do limit that help to only those that you like. @sellingthings Marty, I think that you mentioned esophagus problems. I've been dealing with those for quite some time. DH just picked up a Lamsoprazole script for me. At $4.50 per pill and our insurance will not pay any of the cost. The Lamsoprazole seems to help most though.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I thought I had finally dragged myself out of bed at 11:00 am. Well, I must have still been slightly cross-eyed because when I went to make my coffee the clock said noon instead! 😯

@amber1986 AMBER ... trust me, hon, no angel here. I only help those who I like! Isn't that awful! If I didn't like the person, I'd be history and no one could find me to help....

@carma CARL ... sorry to hear of all your flooding. Hope it settles down quickly.

@reen REEN ... here in NE Oklahoma most people with flower gardens go to the local feed store and buy rabbit blood and sprinkle it on their gardens to keep the deer away.

@sellingthings MARTY and @baabaamason BOB in KY ... pretty items, but sorry, I have no idea.

    HI to KATIE and GEORGE!

  • Good Morning everyone, still drizzling rain here. Surf was very high this morning so lots of huge waves coming over the side of the pool, making it an interesting swim. At one stage I was thinking I should have brought my surfboard not my flippers LOL
Don @donscns Glad the skies are clear of smoke for you
Helen @10bbg10 Enjoy your visit from your DGD. I love delving into bits and pieces of the family history.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Glad to hear you are improving. And thanks for letting us know about Amber but I am worrring a tad about her checking herself out when she is still not well.
BTW I love that dress. It would look great in my house on that stand or maybe even on "Hilda" (my vintage shop manequin that I dress in 1920's clothes)
Marty @sellingthings Glad you are not having any problems with the insurance.
Reen @reen I am not a gardener but I do know the last plants you posted are Geraniums.
    Julie
