• Good afternoon . Hot here and winds are still blowing. Bush fires are still a big issue in areas, some are still not under control. No lives or home lost, that is a blessing.

Fenton @ohiostar sorry for your loss. Like Jim said , everything comes in lots of 3, so hopefully you'll be OK

    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone It is drizzling rain here but temps are very mild. You can certainly feel Spring in the air.
My sister starts her Radiation treatment today in between her chemo treatment.

Fenton @ohiostar Lucky you!! I hope you get some bargains πŸ™‚

    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. brrr it's chilly here this morning. No sunshine, very dark and gloomy. I hope it improves. I am heading off at lunchtime to set up for a market on Monday (long weekend here) This market this time of year has had many seasons in my time doing it. Extreme heavy frost and freezing cold, beautiful warm sunny days, rain, wind, wind and rain, and even floods, I wonder what this year will be LOL
Carl @carma How very exciting for Marley. Another new chapter in her life. Here you are with your Granddaughter growing so much, moving away from home and being independent. Here am I just witnessing my granddaughter starting her little milestones in life and wondering where it will lead her.
Fenton @ohiostar I am sure Marley and her training staff will be well informed about the virus. I did read a lot of the hype
is media hysteria, the virus has been around since dot.
George @george welcome home!!! I would love to go to Alaska
    Julie

  • Good Morning , overcast here atm and more rain predicted.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I don't think it was Di It was someone that had joined ages ago but never ever made any posts.
BTW which Di are you talking about, we did have a couple of Di's didn't we?
Fenton @ohiostar thanks for sharing the pics of your DDG glass
Janice @capecodlady Your SIL is a fighter. Sending positive thoughts

  • Good Morning everyone. We are suppose to reach a top of 33 Celsius here today.
Carl @carma and Fenton @ohiostar Beautiful glass, thanks for sharing. My collecting days are over πŸ™ and I will continue to downsize. Maybe when I have nothing left to sell, I may start collecting again. Who knows what the future holds.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. very warm here today but not as hot as I was expecting

Shelly @shellyrae37 glad you had a lovely birthday.
I doubt my location has much to do with my issues with tinypics. It's all to do with the excess of adverts they have on their page.Lots of stuff to be loaded before the pic gets loaded. And I do know there are others on this board that have the same issues as I do. Maybe my high settings on my virus scanner slows it down too. It will be scanning all those adverts making sure there are no spyware or malware, deleting or blocking them if there is.

Jim @dorbitz good luck with your exams

Fenton @ohiostar always good when bad pics work in your favour πŸ™‚

  • Finally it loaded!!! Here is Fentons other piece It's gorgeous Fenton @ohiostar Thanks for showing us

  • Good Morning everyone. Hot and sunny down here. It's not going to be a nice day , it will be too hot πŸ™
Fenton @ohiostar I'd love to see your new items but TinyPics is at it worst for me today. 5 mins and the pics still haven't loaded .
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone.Beautiful warm Spring weather for us down here.Gorgeous sun rise at the beach this morning while I was swimming my laps. There were severe thunder and hail storm warnings yesterday arvo for my region but it went around my suburb.
Don @donscns beautiful set. Thank you for sharing
Fenton @ohiostar very pretty even if its news

  • Good afternoon everyone. Today turned out to be a beautiful sunny winters days. Black clouds hovering over in the distance, hopefully they go in the opposite direction
I think I am all organised now for my party. Tomorrow should be smooth sailing. It will just be putting up the gazebos and tables. Setting out the chairs and hay bales and getting the food on the tables.Everything is all there ready to go.
Thanks Nancy @jerseystar27 the weather man says its going to be clear and sunny, Lets hope he is right πŸ™‚
Fenton@ohiostar yes I have always loved Glenn's websites and have seen them grow as she and her DH learned and discovered more info. My main source for info on Australian glass is by an Australian Bloke, Ken Arnold I use his books a lot.
    Julie

  • Shelly @shellyrae37 In July I will be hitting the road for a few weeks and that's when I will find a few swapmeets as I travel around. This weekend was just a weekend away with a group of friends to kick back, party and have fun catching up with each other. A few beers, a band to dance to. A good restaurant with lovely meals and good company with lots of laughs.
Irene@jmart8248 I whole heartedly agree with Gail @songbreeze Just refund the money and be done with it. If you don't, it's only going to be a long drawn out battle and really in the scheme of things, is it worth the headache? I am sure you would much prefer to move on asap
Fenton @ohiostar I wished I could have seen your lovely items. But sadly tinypics does not like me and 9 times out of 10 the pics will not load for me. It seems they only want me to see all the adverts surrounding the pic.

  • Good aftternoon everyone. Hot and humid here
Don @donscns I have been having internet problems too. I have days where I keep getting disconnect, it runs extremely slow and pages won't load. It is very frustrating. Plus it always seems to happen when I really need to be online doing something important LOL Then I have days where it runs perfectly, no problems at all. My ISP says its no them.
Fenton @ohiostar Love the water sets
George @george I detest tinypics. Half the time I get sick of waiting for all the rubbish to load so I can view the pics. Thats if they will load at all. But if you use the Image wizard here on the board and add the tinypic URL and follow the instructions it will only post the pic. for example I will use Irene's URL she posted for her photo

  • Good Morning evveryone. Hot here again. I am going to try to survive without the air con today. I just can't handle it for another day.
Fenton @ohiostar when there was talk of petrol prices dropping our Government almost immediately up the taxes.
Shelly @shellyrae37 It was suppose to be coffee I posted but that's the beauty of virtual, you can make it anything you like LOL
Wendy @wjweese nice to see you back on board. πŸ˜€
Don @donscns one of my plans for this house is to go solar. Few of the neighbours already have it. And when and if I divide my block and build another house (smaller one ) for me when and if I get too old for this bigger house, It will be solar.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. We have had some very hot days. Yesterday was 43Β°Celsius. A thunder storm with a bit of rain did come through in the afternoon but it was very short lived. Over before it started But other area's did cop it bad. Some bushfires caused from lightening strikes, trees and power lines down and heavy rain.
More high temps today and supposedly rain and thunder storms this arvo
Bob @baabaamason I hope you can manage at home OK without too many issues.
Reen @reen so sorry to hear your friend has to have a leg amputation. I hope all goes as well as can be for her.
Fenton @ohiostar thanks for the update on Paul Glad he is still doing well.
    Julie

  • @songbreeze - Gail - Thank you so much for looking in your book for me... you answered my question exactly... some on Ebay was calling it Peach Crest, and some were calling it Silvercrest, while others were calling it something entirely different... Now I know how to list on Etsy...

@ohiostar - Fenton - Hey there stranger... Thanks for the link... when I'm researching glass I never think to look on Etsy... I always go to Ebay first... I hope your shop is doing well on Etsy... mine has it's good weeks, and terrible weeks... but my overall revenue for the year is up from last year and less sales... I guess it is because of the higher end pieces I've been listing...

  • Good afternoon everyone Its a lovely hot (not too hot) sunny day.
Its going to be an emotionally draining week this week. 2 mates in the bike club passed away on the same day both from cancer and tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday we say our GoodByes
Shelly @shellyrae37 there is nothing mild about our summers down here. In some regions up north where it is hotter then here, the whole town just about shuts down for summer, especial if their main industry is Tourism. Its just too hot and noboby want to be there
Gail @songbreeze glad you are enjoying your time with your family. Grandkids are so special
Fenton @ohiostar Thanks for the ID πŸ˜€ but it's not my vase I was helping Sara @lilac1987 post her pic, she was having problems
Lunch break over and scroll done...
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Overcast and a little cooler here today.
    Fenton @ohiostar Congratulations!!!!.

  • @ohiostar Fenton - but those are my backyard hangouts ! Seriously, it was a Barberton establishment. Everything is back to normal for me, healthwise ! Just waiting for warmer weather so we can open the camper up in 17 days.

  • @ohiostar Fenton I agree but it is 150 miles away from me with an estate stales group that sounds like they know what they are doing and pricing retail. Unfortunately my collection needs to be also called inventory. So sometimes I get to only look.

  • @ohiostar Fenton ... Thanks for helping, but I believe my problem is that I've just changed computers and no longer have it on my toolbar. I think I have to have the GPSA ID and Password for the "myfamily" site before I can enter my own ID and password.

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... wish we had a "like" button. πŸ™‚

  • @ohiostar Don't even check GW on Waterloo anymore - I was told all their glass gets scanned by a Supervisor who collects Depression glass. I will drop in maybe once a month. I usually hit VDO just up the street weekly.

  • @ohiostar that looks like a great auction! Wish they had auctions like that around here.
Just stopped by to Wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year and hope your sales soar in 2014!
    Mary

  • @ohiostar Fenton - I was raised in NE Ohio. We had snow drifts around the farm that were at least 20 foot high. One side of neighbor's house was buried up above the eaves with the blowing snow. We had to tunnel from the farmhouse to the barn to milk the cows. There were 6 truck drivers stranded within a mile of the farm so we had visitors for a week. Dad worked part-time for the township & drove the half-track plow home the night before Thanksgiving. Still had to wait for the National Guard to bring in tanks rigged with plows to clear Route 46 - main artery from Ashtabula to Warren.

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... gee, I sure hope so. At least the decanter has not been reproduced.

  • Good Morning everyone You can already feel the heat from the sun and it is only 8a.m daylight savings time. So it is gong to be a very hot day Yesterday reached 36 Celsius. And they say tomorrow is going to be the worst day
Carl @carma makes you wonder what is happening to our children these days to be doing such horrific acts. Seems they have no concern or respect for ppl's lives.
Fenton @ohiostar Just now on the radio they are discussing what will happen to these boys. Some are saying they will probably get a slap on the wrist and sent home. I do know last year or maybe the year before there was dicussions on changing the law and increasing the punishment.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. It is a gorgeous day here. It’s school holidays down here, so there was no Sporty Kids on for Miss P. So we decided to just meet up at the beach after my swim and walk.
Reen @reen to get Fentons to show like we do You must use @ohiostar If you right click on a members name at the top of their post next to their pic, choose from the drop down menu
open new tab” or ”open new window” you will see their @ name that is to be used. I hope that helps
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone The DDG day has turned into a windy day.

Carl @carma the way I usually do it is put cursor over the pic that is showing on the whole page and right click, from drop down menu I choose" Copy Image URL" which gives you the URL with the 0 in it and just the pic no other junk.
Fenton @ohiostar Both your links showed the whole page I wonder if this link is going to be just the pic
    http://oi40.tinypic.com/mh4s9.jpg
Katie @fyrqueen weird your link takes me to the whole page too But when it finally loads and I right click on the image and choose "Copy Image URL" and paste that into a new browser I get just the pic.
IreneM @jmart8248 waving back to you πŸ™‚
Gail @songbreeze LOL yep thats what I meant "add the zero right after the http://" Typing Hand and brain were not on the same page
    Julie

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Hot mid-90s day again today.

@ohiostar FENTON ... the pattern is DIAMOND POINT LOOP, ca. 1890s, unknown maker, and it is probably the sugar bowl.

@mainewildrose SUE ... enjoyed the explanation on Indian Summer

@favoritegram LAINEY ... the only thing I don't like about the new RL is that the PO receipts are 2 pages long. I surely agree that adding stuff helps. I don't necessarily sell what I added...but I sell something from my store.

Oops! Sister just drove up in the driveway ..... BBL

    HI to CARL, DON, SHELLY

  • @ohiostar Nope it is Wheaton Glass Bullsete ref Hopper's "More Royal Ruby" p112-3

  • Reen @reeen I hope the weather clears up for you by the weekend. The weather report down here says it will for us. Fingers crossed they are correct
Don @donscns my DD used some of my antique china & some of my glass for her wedding. I had so much fun picking what to use and setting up the tables.
Fenton @ohiostar I finally got to see your DDG set. TinyPics always takes forever to load for me, because of all the adds that accompany the pic.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon, glassies. The temp is 100 today...do not know what the heat index is.

@ohiostar FENTON ... that is just an absolutely beautiful set. DON is going to give you the evil eye. πŸ˜€

HI to MARSON, GEORGE, FRAN2, SHARON, REEN, DON, and JULIE!

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... oh drool...the only thing I collect are cruets and that one is just DDG!

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies.

@ohiostar FENTON ... had to scroll down to see what JULIE was commenting on. Don't know how I missed your post. Terrific flying nude...I've never seen it, not even in a book, in ruby. What a sale!

@donscns DON ... I'm always tired after a vacation. I think we pack so much into such a short time...whether it's the sightseeing or visiting with friends and relatives...or even the planning, the packing, the traveling. It's just intense energy constantly.

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... superb rainbow! I just love when I see one.

@fyrqueen KATIE .... good luck on the box lot. Hope you are feeling better.

    HI to CARL and GEORGE!

  • Good Morning everyone. cold but sunny here this morning. A good day to be out in the van preparing it for my trip. The wardrobe needs to be emptied and summer stuff out and winter stuff in.Curtains washed, cupboards emptied, cleaned and restocked. Plus sort some stock for any markets/swaps that I may find along the way.
Fran @fran2 did they give you a reason why textiles can not be sent to Korea? Sounds weird to me
Don @donscns give me winter any day. I hate summer and the 100+ days.First really cold day is a bit of a shock to the system but after that I acclimatise really easily
Fenton @ohiostar Congrats to your friend What a great sale. One can only dream of finding one of those down here
Reen @reen I always check snopes and hoax slayer when I receive emails like that. Most are always hoaxes /spam and they rely on the very trusting to pass it on, Usually these kind of emails have "trackers" or whatever they are called and if you don't have a good virus scanner they will go unnoticed tracking all your activity on your computer.
Suzy @suzy I saw your pics on FB. I am glad you were lucky enough to escape any damage.
    Julie

  • @ohiostar Well, now that kind of reminds me of the old saying.. "If I haven't ever seen it, it is scarce. If neither you nor I have ever seen it, it is rare". :-D.. I was just wondering how you could be certain it was one of a kind and not just a rare item. I certainly like it. Nice find.

  • @ohiostar How can you be sure the bell is "one of a kind"?

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... I get a kick out of their listings. If you click on their store, I think you will see her and all the relatives at one time or another in a picture. I also get a kick out of all her different hats she wears. πŸ™‚ Looks like they have fun with their listings.

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... thank you so much. I kept searching for the word "bow" and there was a pattern called GARLAND AND BOW...but, of course, that was the wrong pattern. How funny that the word GARLAND was the pattern name. Thanks again.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... "precious" surely is the right word!

  • @ohiostar Fenton - yep, that's the one. I stayed until 10:00 PM & they were selling to an almost packed house. It looks like their April 5th auction is going to be a "biggie" too. All the showcases in the entrance are full of Carnival & Depression.

  • @ohiostar: Absolutely! Right now, just manually, but it's all wired up & tested. Just haven't permanently hooked it up to my power source yet. Won't do that until the rest of the work on the railroad yard is finished.

  • @carma Thank you! Thank You! For putting my mind at rest.
@ohiostar I just might try that. Thanks for the info.
@shellyrae37 Yum.. did someone say pot roast? I'm glad to hear that your DH is feeling better. My BFF just got a clean bill of health at her two month check-up. She had laryngeal cancer.

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... you really do have beautiful things in your Ruby Lane shop. Glad you are selling well there.

  • Had supper and spent the Christmas Eve-Eve evening with my sister. We celebrated tonight because she's too busy to do it tomorrow evening, and Christmas Day she and her boyfriend will be together.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like a grand time to spend with your family. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

@glassusa BOB ... Sorry, but I don't know what the name of the base/stand may have been.

@ohiostar FENTON... I rather thought a similar scenario with CARL's @carma mystery card. Once I bought a bunch of stuff from a couple on eBay and they sent me a Christmas Card.

Well, I got stopped right in the middle of this post. Sister was trying to print out a postage label on usps.com and got all confused. I walked her through most of it but then she couldn't get it to print out. I threw a wrap/cape over my most comfortable of all snowman pajamas (I love my sis but not enough to get me to change out of my most comfortable...), prayed I wouldn't have a wreck and have to explain my pajamas, and got over to her house to get her postage all untangled and printed. All's well that ends well.

HI to SHELLY, AMBER, MARYMELODEE, and GEORGE.

  • Just finished watching a PBS special on Chihuly. Rather overwhelming!

@ohiostar FENTON ... thanks for looking and helping me turn in the right direction.

@itsagas BILL ... thanks for all the information and that was a grand article on the C.F. Monroe Company. I definitely bookmarked it. I did a search on eBay and Ruby Lane for Kelva and some things have lids and some don't but obviously something was attached to this piece...wondering if it had little handles. I'm having the same trouble with google search for Kelva +inkwell that BOB in KY has ... too many returns but none are correct. If I try "kelva inkwell" there are no returns. I'm really thinking this was was a little pin dish that had handles because all those that had lids had a longer hinge attachment in back. This just has the 2 little oval pieces that are the same.

  • @reen REEN ... Sending all my prayers and hugs for you, your friend, and her family. Sounds as though her time is close. Has me singing the funeral song "Shepherd me, oh Lord, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into Life..." Always been a beautiful reassuring hymn to me. I will sing it for your friend.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... glad to hear you all are ok and all systems are up and running. Love @ohiostar FENTON's picture. All things are relative. πŸ™‚

I'm worn out. Got all my Ruby Lane shop finally done after working the entire afternoon. I've now submitted it for review. It can take up to 5 working days to hear back from the review board. Crossing my fingers I did it all correctly. I must say I had a wonderful experience using their Help Desk...people who actually understood your problem, actually new how to fix it, and gave great instructions. Incredible! Apparently something called Amazon Cloud or Cloud Amazon had cause a problem last week on the site and might have caused my problems. All's well that ends well. πŸ™‚

I am worn out from listing though and just now popped a frozen dinner in the microwave. Think I'll find the recliner, a good movie, and rest and eat what will be my breakfast/lunch/supper.

  • Good Monday Morning to you all. Temps have dropped a little here but still very pleasant. It was a big shock getting temps 35 Celsius in October( Our Srping). Our last summer was very mild and we only averaged ( I think) 4 days over the 30's. They say this summer is going to be very brutal, very hot and very dry. So be prepared to hear lots of whinging from me LOL As you all know by now, I am sure.... I HATE THE HEAT!!!
    Fenton @ohiostar πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

I wonder how Carma is going with his model train project?
    Julie

  • @ohiostar Fenton Thank you . That picture is so much better than anything that I have been able to get.
@madferu Beautiful bowls and plates Nina. Are they the Duncan and Miller Spiral Flutes? I just reopened my ebay store a month ago.
Bob in Florida says that he runs an auction with a BIN for a week before he puts an item in his store. He thinks paying the 30 cents for that is more profitable for him. I may try that.

  • @ohiostar Fenton - just got off the phone with Susan & she said "NO EARLY BIRDS !" Also - no numbers ! We may get a surprise @ the sale because of the amount of Depression Glass in all colors.

  • @ohiostar You'll have to get there early cuz it is about three blocks from my house !!!!! Look for the old guy with the VietNam veteran's hat on - maybe wear my "Grumpy" shirt too !!! Will probably need umbrella !

  • @ohiostar - I asked some peeps in a FB group to take a look. Suggested maker was Phoenix Art Glass. If you have the Phoenix book by Lee Marple look on page 84.

  • Good Morning everyone. Off to Mum's today to do her shopping and have lunch with her. Think I might do a spot of my own shopping while on the go up there. A few Op shops I haven't had a chance to visit in a long time. I just may take my time today and have a look around. And there is a new Antique shop opened on the way, just a short detour of the highway. So I am going to have a look there too.
Katie @fyrqueen after this swapmeet I get to have a few weekend breaks before the next.
Helen @10bbg10 I hope all goes well for you today at the dentist.
Marty @sellingthings & Fenton @ohiostar Congrats on your lovely finds
When I get a chance I must get some pics of my Vallerysthal stems I purchased while on my trip for "show & tell"
Gail @songbreeze I suppose it all boils down to what a person has to do, they have to do that gives us our push to get the jobs done.

    Julie

  • @ohiostar - Your mystery pitcher is Fenton's Coin Dot in Honeysuckle, produced for just two years, 1948-49.

  • Good afternoon Glass Friends,
My day has been kinda back and forth. Had an appointment for a first visit with a new primary care doctor. My former PMCD, young woman with young family, had folded her tent. I think she wanted to have more time with her family.

Anyway the new PMCD postponed my appointment until mid August. I need a prescription NOW. So will go with the Nurse Practitioner tomorrow to get that taken care of.

So while out I got my hair cut at Great Clips---- really cut short this time. I gave the beautician a nice tip and told her to make a note in their computer of this cut. Maybe I can wait 3 months for the next cut instead of the regular 2 months.

We were also checking a couple of dry cleaners to see what it would cost to have a 2 piece lined wool skirt suit cleaned------ $12 at the first stop and $12.50 at the other place.

@ohiostar Fenton, I think I maybe could have that potato skinned and half eaten by the time the demonstrator got all of the stuff together. As my mom used to say "i could have that done and gone home while you were trying to save 3 minutes."
OTOH, I will recommend doing 2-3 potatoes in the microwave for making a small batch of potato salad. The microwaved potatoes are easily skinned.

@amber1986 amber, I think you just have to try different back ground colors for glass or anything else for that matter. I do notice that quite a few posters have taken pictures outside on a wide porch rail. Light can make a huge difference. There too you can have too much or too little.

And fruits rarely need any treatment for freezing. Maybe some thinned lemon juice on freezer bound peaches or apples to keep them from darkening. In my opinion freezing is much easier than canning. This is not needed if canning the peaches or apples. For canning I always bring add a little sugar and bring fruit to a boil .The jars, and jar flats need to be sterilized with boiling water.

  • Good Morning everyone. chilly here this morning
Nancyjean @nona King Tide is a high tide well above average height. BTW most of those photos I posted were not mine. They were taken from websites down here.
Amber @amber1986 I love the ocean and this may sound a bit weird but I love it when it is ”angry” like this. I could sit and watch it forever.
Fenton @ohiostar Beautiful glass. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Happy Birthday Curt @webmaster

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Trying very hard to get some new items listed. Also have to go to the local mall and restock my booth this afternoon.

@charper99 CHAR ... thanks for the heads-up on Curt's birthday. Will bake a cake in just a minute! πŸ˜€

@amber1986 AMBER ... I live in a relatively small town, pop. 6,400. But most towns are at least 15-20 miles away and always wide-open space between. I do love Oklahoma.

@ohiostar FENTON ... absolutely gorgeous glass! Congratulations on such lovely finds!

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... behave yourself! You know better than to over-do like that! πŸ™‚ Do hope you are feeling better soon.

HI to JULIE, NANCYJEAN, DON, SHELLY, and BETH!

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... well, if you need any help with Auctiva just send me an email as I also use Auctiva.

Received a bottle from eBay and was quite disappointed as the inside was "sick glass". I emailed the seller. Not keen on paying $12 to send it back. Don't know what we'll decide to do. She asked me to take pictures so I'll try tomorrow. As it is, what I thought was just lighting in the photo, once I got the bottle in hand you can see the problems in the photo. So much for "very good condition." I'm sorry for me....but I'm also sorry for the seller and what is probably her disappointment over the sale too.

@ohiostar FENTON ... those auctions are just incredible. We just have absolutely nothing like it around here. Just can't imagine seeing all that wonderful stuff in one location.

  • @ohiostar - I believe your opalescent bowl is by Fenton, from the late 1930s. There's a catalog reprint in Heacock's Second 25 years that shows a number of items and the shape of this bowl looks to be a match. The marie base and crimp are also more consistent with Fenton than the earlier Victorian pieces by a number of makers. All are pretty scarce.

  • Good morning, glassies.

@ohiostar FENTON ... lovely bowl but no idea who made it.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... where are you going with that cow? what a hoot! πŸ˜€ As far as the apple it's rather a toss up among HA-AH-Unknown. I think they are much more for the antique mall booth than for the eBay and PayPal fees.

    HELLO to REEN and DON.

    ??????????????? ID Help, please...

This might just be some unknown Art Studio piece, but if anyone can help me describe it, I'd sure appreciate it. It's swirls of Carnival Glass mixed with opalescent spots and swirls. Stands 3.5", base 1.5" and mushroom cap 2.5"

  • @ohiostar; New Staunton, PA.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I've spent the whole bloomin' morning trying to hook up my Xbox Kinect. I got most of it done but still befuddled by how to be able to connect with Netflix... Will think about it later.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... our dearest dearest Shelly, having to go through so much in past couple of months and now 2 deaths in 2 days. Sending most genuine prayers and thoughts for comfort. (((((Hugs)))))

@ohiostar FENTON ... what absolutely fantastic items. Lucky lucky you!

@justmim MIM ... oh how I always enjoy sitting on your side porch and sharing coffee and cookies with you!

@jpthings BEAR ... I know I've seen that pattern before. Will see if I can locate anything on it.

  • Good morning, glassies. Yep, took a looooong time to load the site and a loooooong time to sign in, but I made it. πŸ™‚

@shellyrae37 SHELLY .... Marty doesn't have a link to the Silver Leaf glasses. If you scroll you will see where he sold them privately to an interior decorator. I'm still a bit in awe as they are so plentiful here in NE Oklahoma with very little demand. So too on eBay http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=silver%20leaf%20libbey&LH_Complete=1&_sop=16 . Maybe Marty had a different Silver Leaf pattern than the Libbey one that we are thinking about.

@ohiostar FENTON ... It will be fun to see what that auction finally ends at. I see it started at $6.00. πŸ˜€ Looking at the rest of their listings all I can say is I wish I had a website or store that had the sell-through rate that store has!

HI to Amber, Julie, Helen, George, and Katie!

  • @ohiostar Fenton - Where were you ?? I was @ one on Sunday & picked up some nice pieces on Cliffside. I was there @ 10 when they opened.

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... how frustrating! I hate days like that when there is just nothing of interest. I really find it frustrating when a booth has 50% off and there's still nothing I want! πŸ™‚

Bedtime for me. Good night to all.

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... sounds like a fun day! Was it productive? Find anything that really pleased you? We need a show and tell...

  • Good Monday Morning everyone. My sleep in day so why did I get up at 6a.m LOL We had a good downpour of rain about 5a.m this morning.
Fran2 @fran2 & Nancyjean @nona I am very excited about my auction. πŸ™‚ Not a bad price for a damaged piece of baked dirt LOL. That auction and my weekend away at the swap will pay for my Bali Holiday. Can't complain about that πŸ˜€
Fenton @ohiostar I seem to remember seeing that tumbler (or very similar) somewhere before. I checked Vallerysthal and a couple of other sites I thought was where I'd seen it but couldn't find a match . Angela Bowey's Glass Message Board I am sure will help. Lots of knowledgeable ppl there that know European Glass
George @george I hope your DD gets their power back soon
Carl @carma sounds a little too cold for me LOL
    Julie

  • @ohiostar FENTON … I was looking in the Carwile, 7th ed., Opalescent book on page 157 at an oil lamp called WREATH AND SCROLL. It only has part of the motif as on your tumbler and the book agrees with you that ”….The design seems to be English but I have not proof of such at this time.”

  • @ohiostar Wow, it looks like an Ice blue Fruits and Flowers bon bon to me! I wish they had auctions like that here! Good luck!

    Scott

  • @ohiostar FENTON & @suzy SUZY ... I think your #2 may look a lot like Octagon, but to me I'm thinking it's actually Imperials STAR AND FILE pattern. What do you think Fenton?

  • Thank you everyone for all the sweet words about my dear grandbaby. Golly I miss her!

@baabaamason BOB in KY … I know nothing about glass restoration, but I’d bet a bouquet of flowers would look stunning in that basket and no one would ever see the damage to distract them.

@wellingtonct LAURIE … so sad to read of the damage caused by the fire, but the article appeared hopeful that the damage could be repaired and the historic resort was basically sound in spite of the fire.

@ohiostar FENTON … Such wonderful pieces your DW finds. I see you named the pattern on the photo, ”Greek Key”, but it’s helpful for our new glassies if the manufacturer is stated too. According to Doty that would be Northwood.

  • Good morning everyone. It is a glorious morning here.
Gail @songbreeze Ava is so precious. And she looks so happy in all her pics. I know how hard it would have been to say goodbye to her
Fenton @ohiostar Congratualtions to your wife on her great find
    Julie

  • @ohiostar Sure, I know david. I have not seen him in a couple of years but I certainly know him.
The last time I saw him was a 2 or 3 years ago at a Keystone Carnival glass club show and sale.
That was just before his mom (Mary) passed away.

Lots a great memories with the Sharps!

    Julie

  • @ohiostar FENTON ... What a beautiful haul! The pattern is MEDALLION by an unknown manufacturer, c. 1891.

  • @ohiostar that does look interesting. I shop online A LOT, and not just for glass. I'm already registered with paypal and google check out so I'll really be interested in looking at that. Thanks for posting it. Nancyjean
