• @suzy hey glad you finally worked it out. It took me forever to work out how to log in when using my phone. That log in bit is hidden way down the bottom of the "How To" manual tab.

  • @suzy Happy Birthday!! I hope things are going okay.

Cool and rainy -- yay!! Finally a break in the heat. And the rain let up enough that I was able to get to Yoga class without getting soaked.

  • @suzy HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Suzy!!!! I hope you're okay and wishing you a great year.

Very humid in NJ too and the sun is out to make it hotter. But more rain on the way so my garden is loving it.

  • After heavy rain overnight and a break, it's raining again. And it's breezy and cool. My garden is loving it! So are the cats.

@suzy Happy Birthday!! Miss seeing you here -- I hope things are okay.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 Thanks to Facebook, I knew πŸ™‚
Suzy @suzy Hope you had a lovely time away

  • @suzy Suzy, Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a great day!

@reen Reen, good luck with the closing and the move!! (And hoping a buyer comes your way soon!)

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Nice morning for Church, not too cold and the sky is clear. My books arrived yesterday...6 monographs from the West Virginia Museum of Glass, so I'm looking forward to curling up in my recliner and reading, reading, reading.

    ~*~*~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KASI ~*~*~

@suzy SUZY ... Oh dear, I'm not at all reticent to ask for help! Would love it if you and Jim to come up for a day. I have 2 computers I inherited that I'd love to see if Jim could get into and if they can be cleaned of their content. And I could use some help in trying to decide what to do with all my glassware... yard sale, booth, on-line??? and how to write some descriptions. Don't know if you can be away from your mountain of lovable furkids though for any length of time. They are all precious and I love following them on FB, but I can only imagine how much care they take with feeding, grooming, exercising, etc.

HI to MARSON, WENDY, SHELLY, REEN, GEORGE, FRAN 2, DON, JIM L, CARL and JULIE. Julie I just love your coffees each morning. What a bright spot.

  • Good morning, glassies. Spent all day yesterday working my booths at a couple of malls. One fleamarket I'm actually gradually taking it all down and packing it up. Was really tired and hit the bed earlier than usual. Slept poorly in spite of being tired so it's pretty easy to predict a Sunday afternoon nap on the forecast. πŸ˜€

@dorbitz JIM L ... hope the 5 miles energizes you, and you wind up with an enjoyable and productive day!

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Lovely lamp! Is the other shade completely gone or is it just damaged where maybe you can turn it so the damage doesn't show? Otherwise I would do a saved search on eBay. Never know when someone might have one... I've never see or heard of the bird whistle before. Is it just for fun or what?

@donscns DON ... glad you got some rain. I can't imagine living in an area so dry. I love a good rain storm.

@jrmrock JESSE ... lovely Hickman item. Definitely a celery vase at that size.

@suzy SUZY ... no clue on your little glasses. When you have time, please post photos of your pitcher. Maybe someone can give us more info on the process.

Time for more coffee.... having a hard time waking up. My eyes keep wanting to close.

  • Good Morning glassies.

    @suzy Happy Birthday! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ5NYhDdqQ8

@reen Our local paper used to carry an Ask The Doctor column. Someone wrote in and asked him if he had ever heard of putting a bar of ivory soap, under the bed sheets (at the foot of the bed) to treat night cramps. He politely told them that was a bunch of phooey. A couple weeks later he said that he had been inundated by readers responses, saying that they had tried everything under the sun and finally found relief with this method, so he was changing his stance and for the cost of a fifty cent bar of soap it was worth a try.

  • @suzy HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Suzy!!! Have a wonderful day.

@wattleihavenext Julie, {{hugs}} & condolences to you and the family.

  • Good morning, glassies! Well, good afternoon to some. Hope everyone has an very enjoyable day. If you all are in rain/storm mode, then I hope you enjoy a rest and relaxation day inside, maybe working on hobbies, catching up on reading, or even resting yourself with a nice afternoon nap.

Day is pretty here. I really really really hope I can get myself to get busy and list some items. I bought 4 new crochet e-books and I want so much to start projects, but I absolutely positively MUST get some stuff listed first before I start playing with the crochet needles. Also, our county fair is coming up in 2 weeks and I have 2 projects that I'd like to try to finish so that I could enter them.

@suzy SUZY ... golly, I sure wish you just lived next door or only down the street. I really need someone here who would find my glass stuff fun and encourage and help me decide how to list it and describe it. Also I've got 2 computers that I really need Jim to dig around in for the day. Wouldn't that be fun? Then we could have a picnic for supper and watch the fireworks tonight!

@fran2 FRAN 2 ... I lost my taskbar a couple of times and was really put out. I finally googled and was surprised that it can happen often to a lot of folks and the solution was quite a simple remedy. I forgot exactly what it was...but figured if it happens again, I can google again. πŸ™‚

@booklady LYNN ... ah, one is never to old to have FUN! and Glass is surely fun. πŸ™‚

Waving HI to CARL and GEORGE! Where's DON? Does he think he gets a day off? rotflol

  • Good afternoon, glassies.

@donscns DON ... first I must thank you for posting the coffee. I think I got my first good uninterrupted sleep all week.

Had Church this morning and then went over to the apartment. Just about finished there. Still waiting for my sister to pick up some boxes that she was suppose to pick up yesterday. grrrrrrr. Waited this afternoon, but finally came home. Now she says she will pick them up tonight. Oh, joy, I get to go back out again this evening to unlock the apartment. double-grrrrrrrr. Tomorrow and Tuesday should be ever so much easier.

Now if the weather holds it will be my time to go to Joplin and settle for the monthly booth rental. I'll have to unload my car first. It's piled to the ceiling. I brought home my friend's computer...hey @suzy SUZY... I surely could use some help from JIM at some point. Also all her files and some other things should they ever be able to locate her family.

Still have questions on how to handle some things, but they can all wait. I had her phone disconnected and thought we could maybe donate the cell phone to the soldiers. Then I realized all her contacts are still on her phone and stuff and I don't know how you get that all wiped clean. Same with computers. Also, I paid for her car insurance for the month, but don't know what you do with the car since I don't own it, don't have a power of attorney, don't have a death certificate, I'm not a relative.... So like Scarlett...I'll think about it tomorrow. πŸ™‚ Those things will all work themselves out eventually and doesn't have to be done right now. I'll take a nice rest before I tackle it.

Turns out she had a storage room in the building so I'll check it out tomorrow.

HOT HOT HOT and HUMID HUMID. 91 outdoors but I don't know the heat index. We had a tornado nearby yesterday...or if it wasn't a tornado it was straight line winds causing damage. The tornado sirens did go off though.

Wow, it feels great to be home by 4:00 pm!

  • Good Morning everyone. Chilly here this morning but the sun is starting to shine, I was hoping it will turn out a nice warm winters day but the wind is picking up here again and I DON"T LIKE THE WIND
Don @donscns Thank you. Yes it does hold some fond memories. Some of our better collections, (including a few pieces of the Citron) over the years have gone to a nice young man that knew Gordon and collected very much the same kind of things. I know Gordon would be very pleased that some have been passed onto him. I am betting that the Citron glassware and one of the vintage ceramic electric jugs, I take to the Antique show will be sold to him πŸ™‚
Katie @fyrqueen what a lovely story. My Uncle was a very good wood turner and has made some amazing things. But sadly Parkinson Disease has put a stop to that
Shelly @shellyrae37 No I didn't add anything to DD's Garage sale. BTW it was one of those GS that most of us here do not like LOL Mostly baby stuff, handbags and clothes But yes she did well and they were pleased with the amount of ppl that came through, especially considering the weather.
Suzy @suzy gorgeous creamer. Lucky you and how very generous of Don to do that πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • @suzy Suzy -- Butch does look like a sweetie and how funny that he's hanging out in the cat bed.

@carma Carma -- congrats on the graduation, what beautiful (inside and out) girls!!

  • Good Morning everyone. It felt like winter this morning, chilly breeze that just cut righht through you. But sun is now shining and hopefully if that wind stays away, we will have a nice day.
Suzy @suzy That poem is perfect!
Carl @carma what a wonderful present for Jisoo πŸ™‚ and what great goals she has. I wish her all the best
Don @donscns enjoy your visitors and all the plans you have.
    HI Jesse @jrmrock

  • Good evening folks.
Shelly @shellyrae37 sadly I didn't break even.I ran at a loss, after my fuel costs and site fees were taken out. I did buy a couple of items I am hoping I can make a small profit on, but even with that I will still be behind LOL But alls good. I don't do the swap entirely for the money. (though it does help LOL) I also do them for a trip away, to meet ppl and catch up with others I have made friends with, from the different areas that I go.
Suzy @suzy I had a sneaking suspicion that you might end up keeping Butch. I know if you do find a new owner, you will be broken hearted to see him go.
Don @donscns wise move, telling as little as possible about yourself on FB. BTW make sure you check all your security settings and have everything set to "friends only"
    Julie

  • Long day after all.

@suzy SUZY ... do you remember the outdoor cat, Mama? The grandmother of Blue Moon? Well, when we got the first big ice storm in December, I just could not leave her outdoors. After she had been here for a while I renamed her Twinkle/Twinkie. She is the most loving cat I've ever seen. She crawls up in my arms nearly every evening and jumps up in bed right next to my head at night to sleep. So now I have 3 indoor cats, plus Rocky...oh, and a new big beat up outdoor cat who comes to be fed.

Had a long time at the vets. Poor Frannie is not doing well at all. I just had to get her to the vet today. My sister has a 4-wheel drive and was able to get out of her driveway so she came by and took us. Turns out Frannie has liver failure. The vet said there are 3 kinds. She is treating her for 2 types. The 3rd type has no treatment. The vet said she would feel better within days if it's one of the first 2 types. She gave her a steroid shot, an IV as she was dehydrated, and put Frannie on a course of antibiotics. The vet gave me some special canned food to get her to eat...she's lost 4 lbs... but she wouldn't really eat it, only about 1/2 teaspoon. Hoping tomorrow she will be feeling better due to her IV and shot and antibiotic dose she had today and I'll be able to get her to eat more.

@reen REEN ... that has always been one of my favorite Irish Blessings.

    Water pipes are still frozen.

    Saying hello to all glassies.

  • Well, my sister's DBF brought me 2 gallons of bottled water, so I'll have no problem having afternoon decaf and this evenings hot chocolate. I have a Keurig so I won't waste a drop of the water. πŸ™‚

@suzy SUZY ... yes, we got all the weather. Believe we got 3" of snow. Well, I walked to the mailbox in my clogs and sank above my ankles. Had to change shoes, socks, and slacks when I got back in the house. My two cats, Blue Moon and Twinkle, keep demanding to go out. They tiptoe through the snow and then come screeching back in side. πŸ™‚ Frannie is sick and I'm calling the vet but I can't get out on the road today. Rocky hasn't tried going out yet...I think the snow will be too deep for him. I have a puppy training pad down for him.

HI to JULIE, CARL, GAIL MAC, BILL, GEORGE, KATIE and IRENE M. Wonder where DON is?

  • @donscns DON .... of course!

@fyrqueen KATIE .... DON is making jest of my morning reading material. Actually there are no Alien Babies in Star. Star is all Hollywood...stars with facelift goofs, stars with bad beach bodies, the latest on Kanye and Kim, Portia and Ellen, yada yada yada. ... absolute mindless dribble that I subscribe to. πŸ˜€

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... sad about the Jewelry Chat. I think Facebook is the reason for the drift. I know in several of the FB sites I follow many many of our former Chat members that we no longer see or very seldom see are regular FB contributors. As I always told my kids, "There's only one thing in Life that can count on.....change."

@jmart8248 IRENE M .... I'm thinking a lot of this back ache is just the cold. We are warming up this weekend to the 50s and 60s and I bet it will find me bouncing all over the place. I'm already making plans to spend the day treasure hunting. Yea!

@suzy SUZY ... I love little Dazey's pictures so, but man, I bet she grows fast. Even if I get down to Jenks in Spring or early Summer she will have way passed puppy stage. You and Jim just have to come up this direction and then we can travel on to Joplin. 3 big antique malls there now. WHole day affair. Needless to say, I have a CPU with Jim's name on it if he's willing to wipe it clean for me. Gee, it's even loaded with XP on it so he could tag it as "Vintage" in April and sell it. πŸ™‚

Went out and bought groceries...wondering if we will get any snow that's predicted tonight. Think you have a better chance of it.

  • Good morning, glassies! This Alternate Login Page is sure working nicely! Nice day today, lots of sunshine, mild temperature. Will enjoy it as the rest of the week it goes back to winter for a while.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sorry the swap meet didn't turn out as productive as you had hoped. Hope you still had a fun time though with your friends.

@suzy SUZY ... glad to see you were able to log in. You all still need to make a trip up here so we can scoot over to Joplin together and check out the malls. πŸ™‚

    HI to SHARON and CARL!

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Don't have any plans for the day. Still sipping my coffee and will just wait and see what unfolds for the day. Feeling pretty lazy today. πŸ™‚

  • Good morning, glassies. Very cold with ice all over the trees and electric and phone lines, but the roads look dry. The sun is shining and is melting the ice. I went to the mailbox and wondered what all the glass was in my driveway when I realized it was the ice falling off the tree limbs.

@suzy SUZY ... my darling beloved 7-yr old Shih Tzu, Charlie Curls, who I had brought all the way back from Taiwan with me, developed lymphoma and I had to have him put down. I cried my heart out and by day 3 my face puffed up like a pumpkin. My sister took me for a ride and it turned out she and my mom went in together and bought me a new 5-week old Shih Tzu puppy, my dear Rocky. It was the best medicine ever ... to take care of a wee 5 week old puppy. I use to say that Rocky was the son Charlie would have had if Charlie hadn't been neutered. πŸ™‚

@donscns DON ... Love the coffee! I crocheted a bit by oil lamp yesterday, but only for a little bit. It was too hard and I sat and read and read and read. I had 3 new books I bought last week, and it was so pleasant to have no distractions and just sit in the dark by oil lamp light and read. πŸ™‚

Good morning, to SUZY, SHELLY, KATIE, REEN, GEORGE, and CARL!

  • Well, Good morning, glassies. Hope I didn't mess anyone up with the date screw-up. 😯

@jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks for the sweet words about my crochet. Wondering how the weather is treating you all. The rain and sleet are headed out and leaving a thick layer of ice everywhere. Church was canceled for the first time ever that I've known. Well, the priest will still say Mass but the requirement to attend is lifted due to the weather and road conditions. If it's not windy, I'll walk to Church as it's just 2 1/2 blocks from my house.

@mainewildrose SUE ... oh your decorations are just WONDERFUL! I can only imagine how super it will be to have all of your family together for Christmas.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... oh how frustrating! grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'd just file a non-paying bidder, block her, and be done with it.

@suzy SUZY ... I just get a big kick out of the fact that you are fearless...having all that glass in your house and 3 cats...truly fearless.

HI to IRENE M, GEORGE, REEN, CARL and JIM D. Hoping everyone is having a great weekend and a festive time during the Holiday Season.

  • Good evening, glassies. Got three things listed today. For me that is a lot! I'm just as slow as Moses. By the time I take the pictures, get them edited, figure out the title, the description, check the books for accurate ID's... well it just takes me forever.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... how frightening that must have been for you all. So glad you DH is doing well now.

@suzy SUZY ... the toy box is just absolutely adorable. I'm sure you had a fun time getting it all put together.

@wjweese WENDY ... I truly don't know how you do it. I could never ever crochet that fast. All the projects are just lovely and you will have a grand Christmas with all the family and friends. Particularly they will cherish the items you made for them sewn with so much love.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... When we were in Canberra we celebrated Christmas outdoors at the park with a big BBQ. πŸ™‚ What are your plans?

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... you keep yourself quite busy too. Yikes! Presents to wrap, cards to write, Christmas dinner to cook! You and Wendy have me tired out. πŸ™‚

    Waving HI to FRAN 2!

  • @suzy Suzy ... I guess I get a lot of projects done because I most often just ignore my house. You know what a mess it is as you've seen it. I will admit I did spend all day yesterday cleaning and organizing papers as I bought a file cabinet. But usually, I work pretty hard at ignoring my house. Eek!

  • HI Suzy @suzy Yep the buyer would have contacted Sue through ebay but after that, there is no reason why they could not continue to communicate with each other outside of eBay. I don;pt think there is any law to say that evrything we want to sell has to go through eBay LOL
Sue @mainewildrose I am checking into my block list now to see if I get anything like you

  • @wjweese Wendy, Happy Birthday!!

@suzy Suzy, congratulations on a great sale!!

@fyrqueen Katie, it's doubly good you didn't come East. I have a nasty cold -- managed to take my car in for servicing, do a last food store run, stop at CVS for more cold meds, and fill up my gas tank. Now I'm heading off for a nap.

Snowstorm on its way for tomorrow. I'm not planning on going anywhere.

  • @jmart8248 IRENE M ... good to see you back. Hope everything is going well.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... you need to change your avatar to your new hair-do. It's darling.

@suzy SUZY ... just stunning. I love the way you decorate.

@reen REEN ... I just love Reverse 44. I think it is such a lovely pattern.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... sorry you have a wake to attend. Particularly sad during the holiday time.

    HI to DON and CARL!

  • Good evening, glassies. Been busy all day both in the house and also out running errands. Haven't fixed supper yet, but thought I'd pop in here first.

@suzy SUZY ... you know how I love your house! It's like a museum. The peacock plates are a terrific addition. You have 4 different URL's but the picture is the same for each of them. Is that correct?

@reen REEN ... well, I had never heard of that display and it was totally fascinating to watch. Thanks for posting.

We stopped on the way home yesterday at an antique store and I still have to get the items ID'd and entered into inventory. I have 2 toothpick holders I can't find the ID for. Too tired to take pics yet. I bought a beautiful blue and gold S-Repeat decanter with 4 small wine glasses. Most of the gold is gone on the wine glasses, but the set was just too beautiful to leave there. I spent a fortune. Think I'll just sit and enjoy looking at it for a while before I list it.

Well, my stomach's about to collapse so I better go rustle up some food. Waving to all glassies!

  • @suzy Suzy, lovely photo of you and your peacock plates are gorgeous! The whole display looks beautiful.

@carma Carl, that water set is amazing! Thank you for sharing your glass goodies with us.

  • Good Morning everyone, Sun is shining atm but not sure that it will continue as the day progresses. Same as yesterday it was sunny in the morning and then the thunder storms with rain came through in the after noon.
Just hope it is all clear by the weekend.
    Suzy @suzy DDG

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Been taking photos and editing all day.

@donscns DON ... think we were getting the same weather about at the same time. We've stayed far enough north of the weather though to stay out of the line of snow.

@suzy SUZY ... beautiful butter lid. The pattern looks like SCROLL WITH ACANTHUS. eapgpatterns says one thing and McCain's slightly different.... possibly Central Glass 1890; H. Northwood 1902 or 1904. Don't know who, if either, is correct. Don't know if it has been reproduced. It's a beautiful lid

HI to CARL, GEORGE, and REEN!

  • @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... There's a lady on FB that knew Lucy's family. I don't know if she is still in touch but I sent her a message and asked so hopefully she will respond.

    @suzy SUZY ... what a sweet kitty-kitty. I can't get Blue to sit still for a photo.

@wjweese WENDY ... I'm not quite as detailed as you, but nonetheless, I keep a record of what has been sent for birthdays and Christmas of 7 adults and 7 grandchildren.

@sellingthings MARTY ... love the photo of your furkids too!

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... Like Wendy, I don't worry about a repeat of items with the family. But I SURE have done that with glass! I hate when I don't remember I already have a piece in a pattern and buy a second one. I just did that with 2 Aztec cruets. What makes it so bad is that Aztec is a design I'm not even particularly fond of.

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... you always have pretty pieces of glass, but never any that I know an ID for! Sorry I can't be of help.

    Hi, GEORGE!

  • @suzy Suzy, what a sweet face on that kitty! Certainly looks like she's trying to help.

  • Well, I got to Mall #2 today and got a lot cleaned up and some new items put in. I'm still working to try to dwindle some of this inventory down.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... gee, it's just been horrible weather all over the globe. I hope you won't be adversely affected by it.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I kept meaning to tell you that Rocky finally returned home later that day. Yesterday he got his ear caught in a branch of a thorn bush and now he has this crazy haircut with lopsided ears. He's due for the groomer's on Tuesday so maybe she can beautify him. πŸ™‚

@suzy SUZY .... yes, I need to take a picture of Blue Moon. She's become very arrogant and aloof.... in other words, she's a cat. πŸ™‚

  • @suzy SUZY ... I went looking on Replacements and nearly croaked when I saw how many Noritake patterns there are! Yikes!. I then saw that BILL replied on the PB so I went there to see his reply. I HATE the eBay board. I can't find anything on it. Couldn't find your post. Why does everyone sign their names with all these long sayings and stuff. Seems people are trying to out-Zen or out-Cutesy each other. It's all so hard to read. Anyway, what did BILL say...did he have an ID. Absolutely gorgeous plate.

  • Oh my, don't know where the day went. Still playing catch-up.

@donscns DON ... thank you so very much for posting the coffee while I was gone. I truly appreciate your help.

@favoritegram LAINEY ... just look over to the right column of the screen and you will see "How To Post a Picture Link."

@dbfrogs FRAN and @suzy SUZY ... adorable grandsons! They are all so precious.

@sellingthings MARTY ... thanks for the link for the Atterbury CADs, interesting article.

I still haven't unpacked my suitcase. Going to bed early and get a good nights rest. Everything can wait til tomorrow. πŸ™‚

  • @suzy Suzy, according to one of the books I have it's called "spicy brown".

Did others get the e-mail from eBay about the new buying experience? Sounds awful!

  • Good evening, glassies. Got up at 5:00 am this morning, headed out to Tulsa, and spent the entire day there. My sister had 2 different medical appointments and then several places she needed to go shop. Just got home about a half hour ago and I’m too pooped to pop. Heating a tv dinner in the microwave and will crash in front of the tv for a bit.

@suzy SUZY … I’m sorry I can’t help with your items. That one basket is really different with the twig handle. I’ve never seen one like it.

@jmart8248 IRENE M … thanks for the B-day Wishes, but it’s not until October 27. I’ll post a cake for me…and for MARSON too as we share the same day. πŸ™‚

Microwave is beeping so off to have a bite of supper. Saying Hello to all you sweet peeps!
    Favorite

  • @suzy Suzy, your divided dish is Anchor Hocking's Fairfield pattern.

  • @suzy SUZY … A real wild avenue… but try Murano or even perhaps the Glass Message Board

    http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?board=3.0

  • Good morning/afternoon glassies. It's 11:00 a.m. here. I'd still be asleep if the phone hadn't rung. Yikes! Big storm moved in last night and it's all rain and dark today. I wake up to the sunlight each day and since there was no sunlight I didn't wake up. Thankful for the phone call or I'd still be snoozing. I had so much I wanted to do today, but it will just have to wait since half the day is already gone.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... very pretty bowl, but I don't know who made it. I would suspect newer giftware.

@suzy SUZY ... I'm just as baffled by your vase. Most unusual to me as I've not seen anything in that shape before.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... wishing you a fun trip and great sales. I know you hate DST but on the other hand that will give you an hour more of daylight to be able to sell...

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... unfortunately I'm on a roll of not being able to ID anything today. I love the goblet but have no idea who made it.

@donscns DON ... we will want pictures when all the cabinet/glass moving is finished!

@reen REEN ... hope you have a lovely excursion. How is your friend's baby? Still in our prayer.

@carma CARL ... so very sorry to here of Marley's injury. Did she break it playing soccer?

@george GEORGE ... how proud you must be of your granddaughter....both her experiences and her writings.

@fyrqueen KATIE... hope you are feeling better and well on your road to recovery.

@wjweese WENDY ... wish you a very speedy recovery. How long are you going to have your movements curtailed and be confined to your recliner?

Well, it's time for more coffee for me and see if I can get anything accomplished during the time left in the day. πŸ™‚

  • Good afternoon everyone. I am all packed and ready to head off tomorrow for the Long Weekend markets. Daylight Savings starts tonight too. grrrrrrrr I just wished they would leave things alone
Suzy @suzy very pretty but I know nothing. Maybe you should ask on FB’s Sklo Czech Glass Group

  • Hi, glassies. Wound up being an unexpectedly busy day and evening. Got all my sleep study stuff finished and got outfitted with a Bi-PAP. Tonight will be my first night to try it. Will be interesting to see what the results will be in using it.

@suzy SUZY ... I think that Sooner glass auction was an absolute fluke! But I'll sure keep my eye on how they are selling. πŸ™‚ Might have to change my mind....

  • Good afternoon everyone. Just getting in @ 1p.m after leaving here 4a.m It is Sunny here but very very windy . So much for the bit of rain we had πŸ™
Katie @fyrqueen I am glad to hear that you are fine
Suzy @suzy I hope you are feeling better soon. Its hay fever season down here and I have copped it bad this year.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIM D @newtonenterprises

  • Good morning, glassies. A little cooler today...only suppose to reach 88Β°.

@suzy SUZY ... the mold count has been extreme this past week. My sister and several friends have been suffering with allergies. The news said one way to help is to change your clothes as soon as you get home after being outside. Also to shower AND wash your hair before going to bed so that you aren't sleeping in pollen all night long. They say windy dry days are the worst.

@carma CARL ... hope you enjoy your new computer. Sounds fun.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I don't really have any complaints about my mattress, but for sure if I won the lottery, I'd LOVE to try a tempurpedic.

    Good morning DON!

  • @wjweese... these other thoughts are just absolute guesses for what it's worth.... I think the toothpick is something new, perhaps Mikasa or something like that. I think the covered candy dish is possibly newer giftware. The small finger bowl I find the picture too fuzzy to see the pattern well. Where you say creamer and sugar, I only see a small bowl which looks like newer giftware to me. When I use the term newer, I'm speaking of 1950s to present.

@suzy SUZY ... love the dragonfly box and thanks for the link...I bookmarked it.

Hello to all glassies. Heading back to bed shortly. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/403607374_o.gif

  • Good afternoon everyone. I have been outside working in the yard and enjoying this DDG weather.
Gail @songbreeze YUCK!!! 40C I am not looking forward to when we reach those temps. But for now I'll enjoy this DDG weather
Suzy @suzy yes we did have a very mild winter. Most days were more like Spring then winter. We did have a few cold days but nothing very drastic. I never once put the heater on. But I rarely use my heaters anyway. I do enjoy our colder weather.

  • @suzy SUZY … I bet at your mall booth that bowl would be a very easy re-sale here in Oklahoma with that Buffalo Hunt scene. Doesn’t matter that it is contemporary, the Native American theme is always in demand here.

  • Good afternoon everyone. It was a wintery day for us down here. No sunshine like we have been getting. But I guess all of you that REALLY have a winter would laugh at mine. Its not what you would really call winter LOL Today minimum 3Celsius Maximum 19C
Marty @sellingthings Sorry to hear about your friend
Suzy @suzy Thanks for the update on Gail. We can all rest easy now, knowing she is doing well.
What a cute little bloke in the pool. Thanks for sharing the pics.
    Julie

  • Hi @suzy SUZY ... you snuck in there when I wasn't looking. πŸ™‚

  • @glassusa BOB ... Do you know if the spiral optic hat is Fenton? Once I venture from EAPG, I'm lost!

@favoritegram LAINEY ... I signed up this past week for the Fenton FB page. Not that I had any Fenton to sell, but so I could just watch and learn more. I figured those buying and selling would know if something were Fenton or not, whereas on eBay you never know what is a correct ID.

@suzy SUZY ... yes, I was surprised to see some of the stuff. It was filthy and I got stung on a couple of things once I started washing the layer of dirt off of it. But I'm pretty certain I'll make some profit on the things as a whole.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... actually there were not all that many people there and very few that I had to fight with over the glass. Most were after the baked dirt... or paying very high prices for common Fostoria American pieces.

  • Good Night George @george Sleep well
Suzy @suzy I am glad that things are looking promising in regards to your claim. And so it should be.
Bob @glassusa Congratulations on your profitable buying and selling
    Julie

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... I'd agree GAELIC for the heart and the bowl is NEW CRESCENT, Bryce, Higbee & Co.,

@suzy SUZY ... so sorry you have to put up with such an awful seller. They ought to be suspended for a certain length of time when they send nastygrams like that. Sock it to 'em!

  • Good Morning everyone sunny here but very windy
Shelly @shellyrae37 Mum moved into a Nursing home around Xmas time last year. We are now in the process of selling her house and sorting through all her belongings. (Donating, selling and sharing among family)
Suzy @suzy OMG reading that reply from your seller, surely did get my hackles up. I near hit boiling point so can only imagine the effect it would have had on you. More (((((hugs))))) You are doing the right thing by not responding, no need to add any more fuel to the fire.

  • Good afternoon everyone. I am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, so I can slow down a bit and have some time to smell the roses. πŸ™‚ I've had a lovely morning out with my sister, started with breakfast at a lovely restaurant and then some shopping.
I Just received a txt message from my friends who are at the swap I just couldn't get organised to do and they say it is very slow and not many $$. SO I am glad I decided not to go.
Suzy @suzy Firstly (((((hugs))))) sweetheart waht a shame πŸ™ and secondly I hope you send the buyer an email telling them just what idiots they are for sending an item like that packed that way. Honestly it does make me wonder how on earth some ppl manage to survive in life. Have they no common sense!!!! I am sure my 2 yr old grand daughter would have more intelligence and know how to pack better then that.
    Julie

  • @suzy SUZY ... so glad you all are having a great time in Eureka Springs! Super glad you missed the storm. At noon, they were still reporting 80 to 90,000 without power.

  • @Suzy Suzy -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Wishing you a wonderful day!

  • Good afternoon everyone. I am back home from my trip and I did have a great time. Covered approx. 4,000 klms through 3 States and saw some DDG parts of my country. The last swapmeet I was at, which I reported was raining. Well woke Sunday morning to sunshine and it turned out to be fantastic!!! Lots of buyers came through the gates and they spent well πŸ™‚
I'll share some of my pics shortly
    Julie

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUZY okcoolwheels @Suzy

  • @suzy Suzy, I would say your basket is indeed L.E. Smith, part of their Heritage line (these were molds they got from McKee so it's one of the "tec" patterns).

  • Good afternoon, glassies.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I'm so terribly sorry to hear of your misfortune. I sure hope you have meds for the wrist pain and that it will heal rapidly for you. What a headache about the car. Sending big (((((HUGS))))) to you.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... hope your strength begins to improve soon.

@sfinds SHARON ... Just scrolled and saw your beautiful syrup...just love it!

@suzy SUZY ... definitely go to Early American Pattern Glass Society on Facebook. It's really superb.

    HI to everyone!!!!!

  • @suzy: Two things I would suggest in your ongoing quest to identify your item.
    1. go to the web page http://www.glassclub.org/index.htm
    2. contact Jeff Evans http://www.jeffreysevans.com/ or his site. He may know of some avenues to research..
Both sites give you an opportunity to contact them with ID questions and you can take it from there.
Good Luck. If you cant get help, I can go to specific people who are especially trained as curators of museums and are accessible.
I'm not saying that it is a museum piece, but it intrigues me, especially because I have not seen it in my travels.
    3. I know that I said two, but .. Don't sell it until you identify it.
    Jim Davidson

  • @suzy definitely feline Lioness or possibly generic "cougar"

  • Good Morning everyone.
Suzy @suzy I stil say its a panther LOL I've only looked at one pic I am still waiting for tinypics to load all the rest.It takes forever
    Julie

  • Good morning Glassie friends, A hot sunny day here in Indy. I couldn't get on line this morning so finally retired to my easy chair to read the Sunday paper where there was a very interesting article about using horse training for veterans with PSDT.
@suzy --- Interesting that nobody has been able to identify the animal on that dish. Looks like you got a good buy though.

  • @suzy Looks like cougar, panther etc to me also.

  • Good morning, glassies. Weather is in the high 90s all week. Yikes!

@george GEORGE ... Packing up that booth was no fun, but I'm so glad that at each of the malls that I'm in I have the same vendor number. So whenever I finally decide to unpack this mountain of bags and boxes sitting in my living room, I can divvy it up easily among the other 3 malls without having to re-tag.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... how are you feeling? Are you doing any better?

@suzy SUZY ... Very interesting piece. I can't tell what it is...mountain lion?...but I have something somewhat similar with a quail. Of course, I cannot find it and can't remember which of the 160 books I have that I was finally able to find it. Can't remember if it even had a known maker. I'll keep searching just on the off chance that yours and mine were made by same company.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I'm going on vacation...all the way to my recliner in my living room with a/c on and 2 fans! πŸ˜† I have my tests on Monday, so maybe they will give me the green light to be more active. The medicine I'm taking seems to b working well.

    HI to JIMD and MARTY!

  • @suzy --- That animal looks more like a bovine of some kind than a lion or tiger. But what do I know? And why are you buying on ebay? LOL. I thought your place was full of glass was already full of glass.

  • Good Morning everyone. Yesterday after a chilly start was a gorgeous warm sunny winters days. Perfect by my standards. But today is cold & wet.
Don @donscns Funny how after a vacation we feel like we need a vacation to get over the vacation LOL
Suzy @suzy I deleted the post LOL As I said in it I was strapped for time to do any searching in those sites. Later I sat down, had a look and I found nothing So since the info I posted was not going to be of any help to you, I deleted it LOL
Carl @carma someone was watching over you and DW
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. cold but sunny here this morning. A good day to be out in the van preparing it for my trip. The wardrobe needs to be emptied and summer stuff out and winter stuff in.Curtains washed, cupboards emptied, cleaned and restocked. Plus sort some stock for any markets/swaps that I may find along the way.
Fran @fran2 did they give you a reason why textiles can not be sent to Korea? Sounds weird to me
Don @donscns give me winter any day. I hate summer and the 100+ days.First really cold day is a bit of a shock to the system but after that I acclimatise really easily
Fenton @ohiostar Congrats to your friend What a great sale. One can only dream of finding one of those down here
Reen @reen I always check snopes and hoax slayer when I receive emails like that. Most are always hoaxes /spam and they rely on the very trusting to pass it on, Usually these kind of emails have "trackers" or whatever they are called and if you don't have a good virus scanner they will go unnoticed tracking all your activity on your computer.
Suzy @suzy I saw your pics on FB. I am glad you were lucky enough to escape any damage.
    Julie

  • @suzy Suzy, glad you and the house are okay!!

  • @suzy SUZY ... guess a micro-burst consists of straight-line winds...so one and the same. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/cae/svrwx/downburst.htm The news said the storm in Jenks lasted about 20 minutes last night.

  • @suzy SUZY ... oh merciful heavens, Suzy. The news was saying they still didn't know if it was straight winds or a micro-burst. I have to go look up the difference on google. So glad you didn't suffer any damage. I mean that trampoline could have broken out windows or your fence.

  • @suzy SUZY ... oh WOW , just seeing all the storm damage in Jenks last night!!! They are debating if it was straight line winds or a micro-burst or a tornado. They say a lot of homes lost power. How are you? Is this anywhere near you?

  • Home from my museum stint, running errands, and grocery shopping.

Diane was eBay ID trulyfenton. I thought she stopped when her daughter died...or am I confusing that with someone else.

@suzy SUZY ... a couple of my strays tend to disappear for a time, but then show back up after a few days.

Speaking of kitties, I need to go feed the outdoor cats. I have to sit out there so they won't eat little Frankie's wet food.

  • I had a little giggle to myself about the talk of Molasses. My Dh used it to clean extremely tarnished brass ware LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 Glad everything is OK with you after the tornado
Yes it is winter here now . Day 3. Where I live it may get down to about 1-2 Celsius just cold enough to form a frost early mornings.
Gail @songbreeze and Suzy @suzy Glad you are both safe ((((hugs)))) to you both You must be so exhausted
NancyP @jerseystar27 Congrats to DH for his award.
    Julie

  • Good evening, glassies. I've had the computer off for most of the evening. Just been storm after storm after storm and staying glued to the TV.

@suzy SUZY ... so sorry for your head getting bonked by the clock. You were getting hit by these storms also, weren't you?

I'm worn out, I think it's just being tense all day as the storms kept moving through. Of course, the tv programs were all pre-empted by all day continuous weather coverage and as an Okie you pay attention for sure.

I'm saying HI to all glassies. Just a little bit too tired out to chat.

  • Good Morning everyone. Last day of Autumn here and though it is chilly first thing, the sun is shining and we are in for yet another DDG day πŸ™‚ I hope this continues through out the weekend because I am heading north up the coast to a Swapmeet tomorrow morning. Last year at this swap it didn't stop raining.
Amber @amber1986 & Betty @sjell Thank you for letting us know Shelly is OK
Janice @sunwoman3663 have you tried Natvia a natural sweetener http://www.natvia.com/ or Norbu http://www.weighitup.com.au/nutrition-and-health/1302/what-is-norbu
Both these sweeteners have been recommended and used in some of the recipes I follow on my "Diet"
    Suzy @suzy ((((hugs)))
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. It is a beautiful warm sunny day out, though very chilly to start before the sun came up.
Had trouble starting my Yaris this morning, so immediately thought possibly I am in need of a new battery. BUT battery bloke says no, my battery is better then a new one. Funny I don;t hold much faith in this bloke, he told me that last year about the battery in my truck that was at least 4 years old. I didn't give him the benefit of the doubt last year as I was travelling away on my own to a swap and insisted he put a new one in. This time even if I did insist, I'd have to wait till tomorrow as he didn't have the right one for my car. I told him if I get stuck at 4a.m tomorrow morning when I head off for my swim, he will hear from me loud & clear LOL
Did a spot of Op shopping too and bought a few treasures for resale, NO GLASS though.
Gail @songbreeze I heard about the bad storms in OK and was hoping & praying that you and Suzy @suzy were safe. So very sad about the children πŸ™
Shelly @shellyrae37 Sorry to hear about your friend. I am sure you being there made it so much easier for him (((Hugs))))

  • Good afternoon. Very chilly this morning and windy but it did end up being a beautiful day.
It was cold at the swapmeet but nowhere near as cold as previous years. It wouldn't have been so bad if the wind didn't pick up.That's when it got very cold. Sales were OK not as good as before but still OK and worth the trip.I did very little today but I did finally got my pink EAPC platter listed on eBay
Suzy @suzy That would great enlarged, framed & hung on a feature wall. Love it!!
    Julie

    Happy Birthday Katie @fyrqueen

  • Good morning, glassies. Had almost no sleep last night. Allergies kept me coughing through the entire night. Certainly will have an antihistamine this evening before I go to bed. I have a feeling that a nap or naps are on the agenda today. πŸ™‚

@suzy SUZY … Hoping maybe sometime in May to get down to Jenks. Look forward to seeing your new booth.

@wellingtonct LAURIE … Hi, there. Think you may have me confused with JULIE/wattleihavenext regarding the tiny pics. She was having trouble with it loading and had some way to shorten the time. I’m sure she will try your system too.

@shanigirl RUTH … I have 5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. Grandkids are just the greatest. Too sad that I live so far
away from them and seldom see them.

    HI to CARL and DON!

  • @suzy I haven't done any selling lately.....and really I think I bought way more than I ever sold. πŸ™‚ But every once in a while I get the idea to list something.

  • @suzy Thanks for commenting on some of my collections. I do so love glass! I look in shops and I want it all! But I really do love the depression era things. I think probably because that is what people were using when I was a child, so it is familiar to me.

  • @suzy I don't have a black light so I don't know if they do or not.

  • Good morning, glassies. Up to my ears in alligators this morning. Trying to do a dozen things at once.

@suzy SUZY ... The pattern is known as PANELED HOBNAIL. Bryce Bros. madee it in the 1880s then US Glass 1891. Shown on page 69 of Mordock/Adams' "Pattern Glass Mugs". BV $15-20 in 1995

  • Good morning everyone Our Weather is back to picture perfect down here πŸ™‚
Am I am the only one that has trouble with Tinypic loading? I seem to always have trouble with the pages loading very very slowly because its full of other "stuff" There is a way to by pass all that "Other stuff" on the page by right clicking on your pic and click on copying image URL. That link will take you to the pic only, no "other stuff" Like this for Suzy's pic
    http://oi48.tinypic.com/34xgv2r.jpg
    BTW Suzy @suzy lovely glass
Don @donscns Glad your glass arrived well packed & in one piece
    Julie

  • @suzy SUZY ... it certain is nap time what with this gray overcast day. Had a bit of misty drizzle earlier. So used to having blue skies and sunshine that an overcast day just makes one want to curl up and hide. πŸ™‚

  • @suzy SUZY ... page 223 GCSB2 by Felt/Stoer. No. 43790 candlestick. Called Six-sided by Collectors. Ca. 1969-82. Part of their Collectors Crystal line. Then the book goes on to tell all the different companies that have since had the mold and the colors they made it in, etc. ....Indiana, Lancaster Colony, Fenton for Tiara, Dalzell Viking...

  • @suzy SUZY ... the second dish is INTAGLIO DAISY, U.S. Glass Co. #15133, c. 1912

  • @suzy SUZY … the first one is McKee’s MODERN, c.1883. Someone posted just a couple of weeks ago a sugar in the same pattern with that distinctive Star of David. Don’t know your second and third one off-hand. The aka for MODERN is Scroll with Flowers.

Fighting with my tv for the past hour or so…can’t get my xbox thingy to work so I can’t get my Netflix. boohoo

  • Good morning, glassies. Suppose to reach 77Β° today and 43Β° tomorrow, so needless to say we are in for rain and thunderstorms later today.

@carma CARL ... Delighted that you were able to ID that beautiful bowl of SHELLY's. I just couldn't locate it for the life of me, yet I knew it looked familiar. Thank you for the tip on photographing the CG. I'm going to try again today since in spite of the warm day, it is very overcast.

@suzy SUZY ... so sorry that I just have no idea on that sweet stemware. I was wondering if that might be a needle etch on it.

@ohliz LIZ ... I pray I never find the biscuit mix in the store. I could eat 1,000 of Red Lobster biscuits. If I could make them at home I'd put on so much weight that I'd wind up rolling rather than walking every where I wanted to go

HI to JULIE, FRAN2, DON, and GEORGE!
