• Nancy @jerseystar27 I just saw a pic of the swapmeet on FB and they said it has be raining heavy there. Much needed rain for the rural area, so no one is complaining. Glad I decided to not go
Bob @glassusa could they be Arcoroc or the likes

  • @panishklo Marson, sending {{hugs}}, I'm glad your mom was able to see some spring flowers and be at home with her loved ones. Wishing you all well.

@glassusa Bob, yikes -- that is just too bizarre! I thought you were going to say that they said they were china or something but that glassware is only something you drink out of!

@reen Reen, sending good thoughts for your surgery, hoping it goes well and that you heal quickly.

@wattleihavenext Julie, glad you're not out in the rain!

Still cool here for almost May -- we're supposed to get a day of rain tomorrow which is fine, the gardens need it.

  • Bob @glassusa glad to see someone is getting some nice bargains. It's been awhile since I hit any Op shops or did any treasure hunting.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone
Bob @glassusa beautiful glass. Thanks for showing us.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Still chilly in the mornings but the days have been lovely. Yesterday was our first day of Spring.
Reen @reen try not to stress. I am sure your house will sell.
Bob @glassusa it certainly does sound like a blessing in disguise.

  • Good Morning everyone, very chilly start to the day but the sun is shining so we are warming up a tad.
Going out for lunch with some girlfriends. I love catching up with these two. Always fun.
Shelly @shellyrae37 No we do not celebrate 4th July.
After my lunch I will be getting the grandkids. They will be having a sleepover with Grandma while Mummy and Daddy have a night out, kid free.
Carl @ carma they make a lovely couple.
Bob @glassusa Glad your computer is up an running
    Julie

  • @glassusa Bob, good to "see" you! I've been wondering where you were and if all was okay.

@songbreeze Gail, I hope things go well today.

  • Good afternoon everyone. It is still a glorious day out. Been to DR's for a routine check and got a clean bill of health Blood Pressure perfect etc.Just goes to show a small change in eating habits and regular exercise does work πŸ™‚
@shellyrae37 its not winter I dread. Ours is very mild compared to yours. But I do dread the summer when we get high temps mixed with high humidity That does me in.
Irene @jmart8248 as usual tinypic doesn't like me and will not load your pics. They seem to be more concerned about me seeing all the adds surrounding it . I get offers of playing the slot machines with $30 free, a dating site , a heap of other thumbnail "images You'll also enjoy" and a big blank space where your pic is suppose to be. πŸ™ πŸ™ But if I try again later it will all show. So I will look later on.
    Bob @glassusa WTG!!!!!
Julie..procrastinating on setting up a Facebook shop LOL ..been doing that for months now

  • @glassusa: Well, the lid is certainly from the U.S.Glass Co. Palm Beach Covered Sugar. However, the base is NOT. It's very similar, but not exactly the same as the Palm Beach Sugar base. Might be a new base mould fitted to the old Palm Beach lid mould. Fenton has done old/new mould marriages like that before.

  • @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Well, I got one more thing listed. That's all day for 3 items. I'm trying to get a bunch of things listed so I can open my store on 11 MAIN. But really more than anything I just want to get all the excess glass out of my house. Maybe just a giant cheap yard sale. Then I can start over fresh....and buy wiser. Too many tuition pieces crowding me out of the house.

@jmart8248 IRENE M... you really had me laughing that the raccoons were smarter than the "skunk man." Hope you all are successful in trapping some wild critters soon.

@maryr MARYMELODEE ... sorry the auction didn't work out. Good luck on your consignments.

@reen REEN ... years ago I had to have an MRI. Didn't think I would be able to go through with it. But they gave me an eye mask so I could see my nose was one inch from the ceiling area, and a friend held onto my foot so I felt if I screamed I could be pulled out real quickly. And the wind that they kept blowing through, well, I told myself it was the breeze from angel wings as the angels watched over me. Everything worked out well.

@glassusa BOB ... I carry my boxes to the PO but I only live a couple of minutes from it. I usually stand and watch them scan the box. If I'm in a hurry, I'll leave in on the counter...but ask them to scan it as I walk out the door.

HI to JULIE, DON, FRAN 2, NANCY P, GEORGE, WENDY

PS. Did no one notice that I posted the Coffee Date today as February 4th????? Talk about tired and sleep when I posted it.... πŸ˜†

  • Good morning, glassies. Headed out for Church shortly and then going out for lunch with my sister, her BF and a visiting priest. They really only invited me so I could help translate.

I got a couple of listings ready for 11 Main. Haven’t posted any for preview yet. Want to get at least a dozen ready first.

@glassusa BOB … Jenks/Luna/Reilly say the scalloped top spooner has been reproduced in clear w/frosting by LG Wright in 1969.

If this falls through with the Candlewick, email me as I would be interested in it.

@reen REEN … so sorry you are under the weather, but HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and hope you all can celebrate soon.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY … a reunion sounds like a lot of fun. I know it takes a lot of work but hope you all have a great time.

@dorbitz JIM L … good to see you check in. Hope all is well for you.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ….. yikes! sure wouldn’t want to be having to trap so many critters. What do you all do with them once you’ve trapped them?

Oh, went and picked up my things at the Fair last night and I sure was surprised to be given a check for $23…. $4 for each blue ribbon and $3 for the red ribbon. Fun! πŸ˜€

  • Good afternoon everyone. cold and damp down here. Not a good day for DD to be having her garage sale but they had advertised in the local paper, so it was all steam ahead. I babysat the grandkids, to make things a little easier.
Gail @songbreeze I too am hoping I get the lovely prices I want for my citron glass. One is the large Gum Tip vase which is very hard to find.
Bob @glassusa IreneM @jmart8248 Nice finds.

  • @glassusa Bob, WOW!!! Beautiful finds and great prices!

I'm down in Virginia with DD (quick visit, I'll be bringing her up to NJ tomorrow so we can celebrate an early Father's Day with DH and my dad and then putting her on train back to Virginia on Sunday). Went thrifting and found a few nice things. My best find -- a Fenton vaseline opalescent open edge basket weave small square bowl for $16. They called it a "yellow bowl". Also got two Fenton birthday bears withe colored hearts and their tags! So hard to figure out which color is what (these are Feb. and March).

  • @glassusa Bob, way to go on the rooster planter -- who'd have thought it would do so well. So sorry to hear about the Candlewick toast set. Perhaps you could put a note in the auction -- maybe say that it's never actually been sold, there was a deadbeat bidder. I had something similar (though not nearly so valuable) some years back. Found a Hofbauer Byrd cordial set (decanter and little glasses) quite cheaply. Sold for a really great price on eBay but top bidder disappeared. Did the second chance offer -- nothing. So I relisted it and sold it for substantially less than the original auction. Still made a few dollars on it, but not what it could have been.

  • @glassusa Bob, I believe what eBay is saying is you get free "auction-style" listings but you don't get free "fixed-price" listings unless you have an eBay store.

  • Good afternoon everyone. We are still enjoying DDG sunny Autumn days. I hope it continues. πŸ™‚
    Bob @glassusa WTG!!!!!!!

  • @glassusa Bob, a photo of several pieces from this pattern (including the butter) were recently posted in the EAPG FB group by Dave Peterson. They were not from his collection. This is what he said: "It can take a lifetime to collect that much of this pattern/color. The cheapest piece will sell for $300+; Yes, it is not like it shows up on eBay and I am outbid every time. It just does not show up at all. Alternative sources like cataloged estate auctions, 2X a year glass auctions from large auction houses, etc....and THEN, be the high bidder!" So, congratulations!! You definitely have a winner on your hands.

  • @glassusa : It's old & it's genuine & it's scarce! It's National Star, made by National Glass at their Riverside plant. Made circa 1901-1906. Pieces of this pattern do on rare occasion turn up in Ruby Stain on Canary Yellow.

  • @glassusa BOB ... no, you cannot print postage with Amazon payments. But I'm ever so happy that I've been taking Amazon payments as about half my Ruby Lane payments are with them. I just use usps.com clip & ship when someone pays with Amazon. I've never had a hold on my account and haven't had any problem or notice of any reserve or minimum balance.

I'm still working on the glass. Have gotten 3 totes filled. Beginning to see a bit of space on the dining room table. Gotten more glass washed so I can take pictures. I'm working steadily but it's a slow go what with needing to ID it first and check on prices, etc. before I either try to list or tag it and wrap it for the malls.

    Waving HI to ALL glassies!

  • @glassusa BOB ... good gravy! How in the world did they manage to price it at $9.99? Bizarre! Congrats to you thought for being there at the right place, right time, and for paying attention. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the OK on the mid-century. I'm donating the big centerpiece bowl with four candleholders for my friends silent auction and I wanted to write up the description on a place card for it. At first I thought Elegant...Depression Era. Then I saw it wasn't made til later so I wondered if mid-century would be acceptable. She was suppose to come over today to work on all this, but called and changed it til tomorrow.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I like how eBay can call you, but I always have to spend hours trying to find the "Contact us" page. Glad you got through.

  • @glassusa BOB .... ***** CONGRATULATIONS ! ***** Terrific sale!

  • @glassusa Bob, contragulations! I was thinking of bidding as the price was reasonable for a while. But glad for your sake that it really went up.

  • Bob @glassusa

    πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ CONGRATULATIONS!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  • Home from Church.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY .... We all walked out after Mass…and everything was covered in an inch or so of snow and it was coming down hard. We were all shocked at it was forecast to be south of us. Needless to say, I gave up on going to Joplin and came home instead.

@glassusa BOB … Don’t know if your egg is Mt. Washington or not, but I do LOVE it. Just super with the decoration!

@donscns DON … ditto everything you said in your post. πŸ™‚

  • @glassusa : Funny how things have completely turned around from what they once were. Back when I first started prowling around for antiques in the 1970 era, 7 out of every 10 shops you went into were predominately furniture. (There were no "malls" then.) Very little glass, china, pottery or other "smalls" as they called them then. Now, most shops you go into have very little furniture, it's mostly "smalls". LOL!

  • Good morning, glassies. Busy, busy, busy the last couple of days. Lots of errands to run both around town and at home. Today is trash day, laundry to do, check book to reconcile...just to name a few. Yesterday was continued work on the frozen pipes, haircut at the salon, off to the grocery, the bank, a bait & switch furniture ad that had me fussing at the store manager.... πŸ˜€ ,,,,so much to do so little time. πŸ˜†

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... so glad you are healing nicely from your cataract surgery.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... so glad you won't be heading off to travel with all this bad weather. I'm betting your sister will much prefer having you with her later when all the confusion and people and necessary arrangements have all subsided and she just needs time to be quietly hugged and comforted.

@glassusa BOB ... super fun to find an item like that and have it appreciated by a good sale!

@donscns DON ... Do you get a decent holiday break at Christmas. My granddaughters have 3 weeks off!

HI to MARSON, JULIE, CARL, GAIL MAC, and GEORGE.

  • I guess it is December so wintery weather is coming, just keep it away from NJ for a while. Actually, DH & I are heading to SF on Friday (back via the redeye on Wed. morning). It has been warm out there but of course going down to 40/50's when we arrive which is fine with me. And no rain for a change. Everyone out there will have on full winter regalia -- no sure what they do if it ever gets really cold.

@glassusa Bob, thank you for my little vaseline shoe! Your packing is outstanding!!

  • Good Afternoon Glassies: Taking a little break.
Bob @glassusa These old eyes can't see your cake stand very well but take a look at McKee Jubilee.
I need to get a couple of things listed so should get on it before the football game. LOL

  • Good afternoon. It is heating up here and the best place is to be inside now. The morning was very pleasant but Temps here are suppose to get up to 35 Celsius. That is too hot for October and I am supose to be doing Boot Camp this arvo. Best make sure I drink plenty of water all day and during the training
Shelly @shellyrae37 I do well at the swaps so I only ever list when I have something that I know will do a lot better then at the swapmeets. e.g my Early Lithgow Jug with damage and some other early Australian Pottery that I know is HTF and very sort after. Therefore the best place is eBay with a world wide audience where the bidders fight to obtain the piece
Don @donscns Glad to hear your MIL is doing well
Gail @songbreeze yep the fires are devastating. And it is not looking like improving just yet πŸ™
Reen @reen your new porch looks great
Bob @glassusa I think they are good reasons for a whinge

  • Home from Church and busy working on taking pictures, IDing, and tagging.

@sfinds SHARON … can’t ID the sugar and creamer blank yet, but the etch is by Lotus…it is ROSE BUD aka BRIDAL BASKET.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY … love your wooden box thingy for the old car. It’s fun to run across different things like that!

@1citydude TINCEY … do you prefer to be called TINCEY or ISADEE?

@glassusa BOB … oh, wow, what a find! Congratulations!

HI to WENDY, DON, FRAN2, GEORGE, JANICE, BOB in KY, and our birthday girl, RUTH!

  • @myrafly ... I surely wish I could help you, but ABP glass is such a speciality within a specialty. We use to have one person on here who dealt quite often in ABP, had lots of knowledge and books for research and I remember her saying one was still lucky if they could ID even 50% of ABP. I really think your best bet for an ID would be eBays Pottery and Glass Board with ABP in the title. Otherwise, I'm sure FaceBook may have a group that deals with just ABP.

@glassusa BOB ... oh, I just hate to thing about car repairs. Glad it wasn't too extensive.

@dorbitz JIM L ... always good to see you pop in. Hope all is well with you.

  • @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... liked your suggestion and wound up taking a nice afternoon nap. I guess I just don't have as much energy as I want to have or I think I should have yet.

@glassusa BOB ... we just NEVER have estate sales like that around here. I get a newsletter that tells me of estate sales and the good one's are always 200 to 500 miles a way.

I've never had any issues with Ruby Lane before. I've signed up last November. And no problems with their picture service. I had gone in this morning and done a power update to show that insurance was included and I was afraid I messed up in some way! Was I ever happy to see my listings were alive and well.

    HI to HELEN and JULIE!

  • @glassusa: I've had on & off issues with the Ruby Lane site too. Looked at Gail's page when she said it was only showing 15 items & that's all it showed for me too. Went back after she posted about refreshing the page & it was showing all 100 items.

I've had numerous jerky, balky & improperly displaying pages on their site ever since they changed to their new design & layout a few months ago. To be 100% honest, I do not like that all their pages are teling me that I'm using an "old, outdated" browser & should update to Google Chrome (obviously a paid advertisement from Google). I'm using IE-8, which I would hardly consider "old & outdated". It's probably the current, most widely used browser. One should not have to change systems in their computer to view or use a website. Rather, the webmasters of that site should make their site compatible with the most commonly used browsers, IMHO. Having a website that is not 100% compatible or has function issues with something like IE-8 is probably doing them more harm than good. If people have repeated issues with the site because of that, it's likely just going to make them go elsewhere. And that's not in the best interests of their sellers.

  • @glassusa I do not think I am going to send $25,000 to Sophia, Bulgaria. It is a neat watch though.

  • Good Morning everyone. My weather report needle is stuck LOL Picture perfect again today. πŸ™‚
Reen @reen thanks for sharing your pics
Shelly @shellyrae37 I did the inside of the bath tub. There is a two part epoxy mix that you use for redoing such things It is called "Tub & Tile" And nope no rest for me today. I have already been for a swim, called in on my way home & helped DD get Miss P ready and off to Day Care, then the grocery shopping, home and unpacked them all before 11a.m I am Just enjoying a cuppa right now and then I will be doing a 2nd coat on the bathtub and then some general housework and maybe some more work in the yard.
Marson @panishklo Don''t labour too hard LOL
Bob @glassusa WOW how bizarre!! Never seen anything like it before
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Perfect weather here again. I could really get used to this LOL
Carl @carma sounds like a fabulous day. And yep they do grow up so quickly. BTW I always wanted a train set and a slot car set when I was young. So guess what I bought my daughter when she was young LOL
Gail @songbreeze I love spring but a you know I detest summer . So fingers crossed it will be a mild one
BTW that must be absolutely awesome being the only one in the cinema.
Reen @reen enjoy your bike ride
Shelly @shellyrae37 The only time I don't like our winter is when it gets very windy and there is snow on the Tops. Brrrr that wind cuts right through you.
Bob @glassusa Congrats on your buy. They are gorgeous

Too nice to be indoors So I will say hooroo
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone.I am doing a very quick catch up scroll.
We had perfect weather over the weekend. You can smell Spring in the air πŸ™‚
My brother is having Open heart surgery today & I am waiting on word to tell me how it all went.

Gail @songbrezze Glad you are home I hope you continue to heal.

    WTG BOB @glassusa

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSAN @susu46

  • Good morning, glassies. Oh my, it's just tooooo early for me. I have to get moving to get ready for Church but I see a long afternoon nap in my future. πŸ™‚

@glassusa BOB ... thanks for the ID on the spiral optic. I have 5 books on Fenton and just find it murderous to find anything in them. Once I find an item, even then I'm not particularly certain it is identical and not just a look-alike. I definitely appreciate the ID.

    @fyrqueen KATIE .... lovely piece!

Good Morning to SUZY, JULIE, CARL, DON, and REEN!

  • @glassusa BOB ... Do you know if the spiral optic hat is Fenton? Once I venture from EAPG, I'm lost!

@favoritegram LAINEY ... I signed up this past week for the Fenton FB page. Not that I had any Fenton to sell, but so I could just watch and learn more. I figured those buying and selling would know if something were Fenton or not, whereas on eBay you never know what is a correct ID.

@suzy SUZY ... yes, I was surprised to see some of the stuff. It was filthy and I got stung on a couple of things once I started washing the layer of dirt off of it. But I'm pretty certain I'll make some profit on the things as a whole.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... actually there were not all that many people there and very few that I had to fight with over the glass. Most were after the baked dirt... or paying very high prices for common Fostoria American pieces.

  • Oops, I see NANCY P and IRENE M came in when I wasn't looking! Waving HI!

@glassusa BOB ... egads! I shudder every time I think about selling on eBay again. May have to after I get all my auction stuff unpacked. Mainly bought for restocking my booths though.

  • @glassusa BOB … hmmmm, I had no idea boopie iced tea glasses were good. Too bad, as I passed them by.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … yep, a lot of clean up to do, but unpacking it is so much fun as everything goes so fast at an auction, I forget half of what I buy and find it so fun to unwrap it. Bravo on the Aussie Pottery…love those early bids. Hope you have a lot of fun this weekend.

@bpcollectibles BRENDA.. look over at the right hand column where it says ”How to Post a Picture Link”…just follow the step-by-step guide and it should work for you.

  • Good Night George @george Sleep well
Suzy @suzy I am glad that things are looking promising in regards to your claim. And so it should be.
Bob @glassusa Congratulations on your profitable buying and selling
    Julie

  • @glassusa BOB ... Bravo! How delightful it must be to find a good seller....now if someone would just give me a tip on how to buy right to sell! πŸ™‚

  • I've just spent the past 2 1/2 hours looking at all the shaker lots in the Jeffrey Evans auction. Actually bid on a couple too. I love his auctions and just spend hours looking at all the offerings.

@glassusa BOB ... well knock my socks off! I'd never have dreamed you could get that kind of money for them. As JULIE would say, "Goodonya, mate!"

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... the little girl did a really nice job on the car...and yes, she had a ball playing in the water too. πŸ™‚ I told her to come back in a couple of weeks. Sure like the idea of encouraging kids to work.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... LTNS. Hope all has been going well for you and your DW. Doing any treasure hunting lately?

  • @glassusa BOB ... This article says that some limited runs and occasional pieces were not marked. http://www.wikihow.com/Identify-Waterford-Crystal

HI to GEORGE, LANEY, and FENTON!

  • @glassusa BOB ... congrats on some great finds! I haven't been out treasure hunting in so long and I really miss it. Just way too hot to get out. We've been in the high 90s with heat indexes in the 105-111 range. I did get out once when the woman who clerks for a local antique store gave me a heads-up on some glass the owner had put on sale. Really truly nice of her!

  • @glassusa BOB ... your screen looks terrific! I have no idea how to do that.

Can glassies give me a hug? Sitting and crocheting when I heard a horrible sounding crash. A framed stained glass picture I had hanging fell and crashed on the kitchen table where I had glass stacked. Nothing worth a fortune, but always sad nonetheless. Shattered a pink diamond optic Fenton compote with dolphin handles, a lovely Consolidated Coreopsis creamer, a Viking ruby owl fairy light. I had them all listed on Ruby Lane so had to delete them. πŸ™

  • Good afternoon from hot & humid NJ (actually, although we have an excessive heat warning, it's only 93 and the humidity is 44%, it's been worse).

@fyrqueen Katie, sending very gentle {{hugs}} and good wishes for feeling better soon.

@glassusa Bob, love your homepage! My desktop photo is one I took of the Barnegat Lighthouse.

  • Bob @glassusa Yes I can imagine the frustration of looking at rooms full of just figurines. My eyes would have glazed over after the first room, if that was all that was there. Dh had more patience then me when it come to hunting down that little treasure hidden away from everyone else. He could spend hours searching, one item at a time, through box loads. Many times I had said ”come on nothing here” and he would have just continued on, methodically searching and come away with some great treasure, no one else had seen. Reen @reen ideas was a good one, which is something we had done on occasions, make an offer on the lot. Gosh those days seems like a lifetime away.
Julie..saying hooroo see you all when I get back.
    Happy treasure hunting πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Not sure what the weather is going to do down here. It is cold that much I know LOL.They say rain but the sun is trying to shine.
After a lunch with my travelling friends,I am going away today, for 3 days, with the Social Motor Bike Club. It's their Mid Year Party. We are staying at a nice old pub. It is suppose to be a motor bike ride for them all but with the weather being iffy, not sure just how many will ride.Looking forward to catching up and having some fun. Lots of laughing and story telling will be happening LOL
Don @donscns They sure are grand πŸ˜€
Shelly @shellyrae37 I am not leaving on my road trip for another week and a bit. And you are right I am only a phone call away. I must remember to talk to DD about video calls, I have it on my tablet, not sure if she has. Facebook will also be a great for us to keep in touch and share pics.
Bob @glassusa Don't you just love the feeling of excitement when you first hit a GS and see that they were hoarders and have lots of stuff. Even if you don't find much, the thrill of searching for that hidden treasure is just as good,
    Julie

  • @glassusa BOB ... That jackalope is a real hoot! Love it! Congrats on the yard sale finds.

@fran2 FRAN2 ... thanks for trying the USPS site. I still cannot connect to it. I'm going to be forced to go stand in line at the Post Office...yuck...and pay their higher-priced fees.

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. I'm on a bit of a roller coaster ride...good days and down days.

I sold an item on Ruby Lane and the lady sent me a check, so I can't use eBay or PayPal shipping for labels. I cannot get into USPS site this morning. Didn't matter whether I was in Chrome or Firefox, I keep getting an error message. Could someone else please try and see if it is USPS that is down or if my computer is whacked. Thanks.

@carma CARL .. what a blessing that you were not on the highway when you car went awry. I'm in agreement with DON...can't believe the repair costs weren't more expensive.

@fran2 FRAN@ ... how is the freezer today? Hope you haven't lost anything in it.

@glassusa BOB ... would love to see a pic of your jackelope!

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I list an item once in a blue moon on eBay anymore. I just have gotten so sick of them. I have most of my items on Ruby Lane. I need to list some items there, but I just haven't been up to listing much lately. And can you even imagine having the inventory to be ABLE to list 1/2 million items. I can't even use up the 50 free items a month. Too lazy.

My medicial tests are next week. I don't have to make my rounds of the malls until the first week of the month. I'm closing out one mall booth this month, and my friend is going to drive and help me pack it out.

Well, I need to go see if I can get into USPS so I can mail this box.

  • Good afternoon everyone. My day with Miss P , She is such a joy to have. Growing up so quickly and she never ceases to amaze me with the things she says and knows LOL At the age of 30 mnths she can count to 10, no problems and can sing her ABC, though she does get stuck in a few places But so cute listening to her attempt it. While she is having her nap I get to play a little on the computer and when she wakes Grandma is going to draw Hopscotch on the driveway and we will have a game of that. (If I can remember how it goes LOL)
Katie @fryqueen I hope you get you health back real soon.
Irene @jmart8248 Another term you maybe could use for your earings is "aurora borealis"
Marty @sellingthings Glad you are relaxing &enjoying your day
Bob @glassusa I was going to tell you how to print from Firefox but looks like you have worked it out
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. All’s well here.

    @glassusa BOB … maybe try here? http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?board=8.0
also had a couple of sites bookmarked
    http://www.artglassusa.com/pages/glass_paperweights.html
    http://verredart.atspace.com/index.html

HI to KATIE, REEN, CARL, AMBER, GAIL MAC, IRENE M, FENTON, and SHELLY!

  • @glassusa BOB ... NEW HAMPSHIRE aka Bent Buckle aka Modiste, U.S. Glass Co. #15084, ca. 1903

  • @glassusa BOB ... from Reilly/Luna/Jenks page 309..

New covered sugar bowls. Original sugar bowls are 7" high with a 4" diameter. The base of the old sugar bowls has six half-dollars, the lid has six quarter dollars, and the finial consists of a stack of six coins. In descending order, these coins are: two dollars, two half-dollars, and two quarter-dollars.

Reproduction sugar bowls are also the same size and design as originally....New sugar bowls are heavier that old, while the glass has on oily sheen. The coins are poorly molded and the frosting is harsh. The most obvious difference...is that the dollar coin on the finial is blurred and lacks the fine detailing of the original. On the sides of the finials, the coins lack the fine reeding found on originals, and instead, display a smooth, worn surface.

  • Good afternoon, glassies.

@glassusa BOB ... I will check my Reilly/Jenks and see what they have to say.

HI to KATIE, BILL, BOB in KY, CARL, MARSON, SHELLY, GEORGE, SARA, DON, and REEN!

  • Good Morning...

@glassusa / Bob - Thanks for the ID on the vase... I was pretty sure it was Candlewick, but could not locate in my only book that has "some" candlewick...

@songbreeze / Gail - Thanks for looking... The flutes will probably find a home in one of my china cabinets... These are the first ones I've seen with 3 different colors of glass...

@donscns / Don - Thanks for looking I really appreciate it...

@fyrqueen / Katie_Delano - Thank you for looking as well...

@wattleihavenext / Julie - I'm glad the second link worked... sorry to hear about your auctions... I hope in the end everything was ok...

I'll check back later today... Talk to everyone soon...
    Jesse

  • @glassusa @mainewildrose @songbreeze Bob, Sue, & Gail -- here's a thought, do you think Bob's piece is a marriage? I looked in Reilly & Jenks and in David Peterson's "Vaseline Glass: Canary to Contemporary" and none of the Pressed Diamond pieces shown have a bottom that looks like this. The lid, however, looks just like the butter dish and covered compote cover. Looking in those books at Belmont 100, the bottom does look like that pattern. So maybe someone put the lid from Pressed Diamond with the bottom from Belmont 100?

And, Bob, just remind me when you put it up on the 'Bay (it would look nice in my vaseline collection, even if it does have some damage and is a marriage.)

  • @glassusa BOB ... maybe Belmont #100...Belmont Glass Works.

  • Hi, glassies. I'm home from the museum. Changed into my comfortable clothes and sitting in front of the a/c before I head back out shortly. The humidity is so thick you can swim though it. Suppose to get all kinds of nasty weather tonight through part of Monday.

@glassusa BOB ... I have a book on Central Glass by Hallock. All examples of Pressed Diamond are absent of all the fancy footwork of your item. I could find no match for your piece.

HI to IRENE M, BOB in KY, HELEN, NANCY P, and SUE!

  • @glassusa Bob, welcome to the 21st century, I guess. My netbook is still Windows XP. But I did buy a new desktop in February with Windows 7 -- wanted to be sure it was still available so I wouldn't have to get Windows 8. (It actually replaced a 5-year old desktop that I bought when Dell said it was the last of the PCs with XP). Windows 7 hasn't been too hard to get used to.

  • @glassusa Bob, that Fostoria piece is gorgeous!!

  • Good morning, glassies. Been busy as this week I have to make my round to the malls so I've been tagging stuff. I also need to get some things listed but I just haven't had enough time to do so. I'm working on a project to crochet blankets for my grandchildren. I'm VERY slow at crocheting. I've spent hours upon hours each day this week and still am only a third of the way through the first blanket. I do love to crochet though.

@glassusa BOB ... how in the world do you get so lucky to come across a pair of everglades. I've never even seen them in person, only in books. They are gorgeous.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... How beautiful all the flowers must be and it really sounds grand that you have a porch where you can relax and enjoy them.

@sjell BETTY ... always enjoy seeing you check into the Chat.

@panishklo MARSON ... thanks for all the chocolate! I surely enjoy it! πŸ™‚

@mainewildrose SUE ... so glad you were able to ID the Heisey for Diane. I'm at a loss when it comes to what I call the Colonial patterns. I printed out what you posted. Thanks!

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... glad your weather is turning so nice and your swap meets will be starting up again. Always enjoy your adventures with traveling and your markets.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... It was my little East Coast Washington D.C. granddaughter who broke her arm. As you can tell in the picture, she was very proud of her new bright pink cast...the doctor let her pick the color. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/665407292_o.jpg

@dianes DIANE … that is a lovely Three Panel berry set…yes, by Richards & Hartley #25, ca. 1885...and it has NOT been reproduced. Haven’t had time to check your CHS.

@fyrqueen KATIE … you just wear me out with all your yard work and work about the house. Picking up a rag to wipe dust off the piano is a big deal for me.

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... would love to see pics of your green pitcher and your milk glass "thing". πŸ™‚ Glad your snow is melting.

@george GEORGE ... hope you and your DW are doing well.

@donscns DON ... will you have a summer break before long? Or do you also have summer classes for your wee souls?

More coffee needed. I will take a photo later and show you all the blanket that is taking up all my time...whether you want to see it or not. πŸ˜€

  • Good afternoon everyone. Yet another perfect warm sunny day for us down here. I do hope this continues on for the next weekend. This kind of weather puts everyone is a great spending mood at the swaps LOL
I have spent the first part of the day with Miss P. We had a lovely morning shopping.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Our rain is really unpredictable down here. Usually it is either flood or drought. We can have very wet winters and very dry summers. Or we can have very wet summer and very dry winter.Mother Nature likes to keep us on our toes LOL
Bob @glassusa congratulations on a great buy
Betty @sjell Nice to see you pop in for a visit.
Marson @panishklo YUM thanks for the chocolates πŸ˜€ Of course they are calorie free , aren't they ? πŸ˜†
    Julie

  • Gail @songbreeze Not much happening around here or within a days drive, this month, as far as swaps go.I use this break to actually socialise/party with friends and get away a bit with them. Next swap will be 1st weekend in May. I am really looking forward to it.
So sorry to hear about your darling GD Though from the pic, the broken arm doesn’t seem to be fazing her one little bit.
Bob @glassusa I have known cars with the same kind of tank still get done. They use a screwdriver or something and climb under the car and punch a hole on the petrol tank and drain it that way. We had spate of this happening a couple of years ago. Thing is the owner doesn’t realise at first because there is no sign. Friend got in his car early one morning to go to the pool, saw the petrol guage right down, so called into the petrol station, filled up and then drove onto the pool., jumped out and went in to do his laps, no indication that anything was wrong. I came out and saw petrol pouring out from underneath his car
    Julie

  • @shanigirl RUTH ... just loved seeing the pictures of your collections. I well remember you adding to your pieces of Molly and Addy for your granddaughters. You really have everything displayed so beautifully.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... ai-yi-yi, I can't imagine trying to keep up with all the yard work! It sure looks grand though!

@glassusa BOB ... I managed to miss your post earlier. What a kick in the stomach to go out and see that someone has been tampering with your vehicle! It would creep me out. Glad there wasn't any damage, but it's still nerve tingling to think someone was prowling around.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... are you getting a bit of a rest from your Swap Meets or do you have a bunch lined up?

My little granddaughter on the East Coast who is 4 broke her arm. She was standing on the chair to her little desk, jumped off, and just landed wrong. She's very proud though of her new bright pink cast. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/665407292_o.jpg

  • My silly computer or maybe it's just IE is giving me fits today. Keeps locking up and "not responding."

@mainewildrose SUE ... I'm still watching the live coverage on NBC. Can't imagine all the lock-down when it entails all transportation and businesses closed. Wonderful cooperation from all the citizens to comply with the lock-down.

@glassusa BOB ... wonderful luck at the Thrift!!!! What terrible luck with the Weather!!!!

Hi to AMBER, LOUIS, DON, IRENE M, GEORGE, and BILL!

  • @glassusa Bob….thanks for the additional info!!

  • @glassusa Bob thank you very much for that ID...I didn't have a clue where to start looking for it!

  • Good morning, glassies. Made the trip over to Ketchum and was really bummed out because they didn't have our checks ready. I did get new stock put in and cleaned and rearranged, but until I get the total of what I sold, I can't do my State sales tax report. Plus I hate using the gas and oil to only have to turn around and go back on another day.

@ve2us1 JANICE ... terrific website for the Franciscan. I bookmarked it. Thanks!

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I looked at your friend's pretty compote but just didn't have a clue other than to think it kinda looked to me like the 60s or 70s.

@eapg DORI ... so pleased to see you checking in! Hope all is going well for you.

@glassusa BOB ... incredible find! I've only found 2 Lladro figurines that I was able to "steal" at $20 each. I sold both on ebay for around $125-150 and I thought that was super...but @ $2.49 you take the trophy. πŸ™‚

HI to SHELLY, IRENE M, JULIE, DON, BOB in KY, and GEORGE!

CURT ... thanks for the heads up on the possible outage!

  • Just finished cooking a pork roast with a cranberry and orange sauce. Having candied yams and peas. Sister is bringing over cherry cheesecake brownies. We will have supper and then watch the Celebrity Apprentice. πŸ™‚

@glassusa BOB ... Sorry, but I know zero about paperweights.

@itsagas BILL ... I couldn't get that link for the Steuben to work for me.

@shellyrae37 .... lovely stemware and vase!

  • Good evening, glassies. Still putting the Elliptical together....slowly but surely. Might prove to be the most exercise I get from the thing. πŸ˜†

@dianes DIANE ... as REEN said it looks to be Westmorelands 1800 line. It is the majo bowl. That shape can be seen on page 131...and the flower design on page 132 of Chas West Wilson's "Westmoreland Glass" book.

@shanigirl RUTH ... lovely set...don't let DON see it or he may try to hijack it from you. Sorry, though, that I'm no help with an ID.

@glassusa BOB ... oh, good grief, I'd be happy if I sold 26 items from one of my booths in a month, much less in one morning! Fainting.....

YIKES!!!! a HUGE peal of thunder. Getting ready to storm. Hope we don't lose power.

  • Its a beautiful sunny day, a bit too humid for my liking but its OK when resting in the shade .There is a nice breeze blowing.Been on the go all day and now time to sit for awhile before I get back to it. Almost there with the packing.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I have a very good set up for the swapmeets, no living out of the trunk for me. I have all the mod cons in my van and live very comfortably in it. Shower, toilet, fridge, stove, hot water sytem, lights etc.
Check this site out. This is what I travel in http://www.millardrv.com.au/SlideOn.aspx
IreneM @jmart8248 Congrats on your new great grandson
Bob @glassusa Glad nothing was damaged.
    Julie

  • @dianes DIANE ... sure wish I could help, but your lovely glass is just out of my range. I did look through the one book I have on Phoenix/Consolidated but I didn't see anything similar. I don't have any other resources for Consolidated other than that one book.

@glassusa BOB ... smacking myself in the forehead, as it never occurred to me to look in the TAGF's 40s-50s-60s. I was using the Fire-King website and the Anchor Hocking book. Even so, I don't know that I could have matched his pics up with his lists. Surely appreciate that you can and you did. πŸ™‚ The ones I have are definite restaurant ware as they are very thick and very heavy.

    HI to MARSON!

  • @glassusa : Way too much of a coincidence on the meteor to BE a coincidence. It's like saying 100 Polar Bears charged through the town of Churchill on Hudson's Bay. On the same day, a Polar Bear smashed through the window of a home in Churchill, but it is un-related.

  • @glassusa BOB ... the name is known as HOBSTAR aka IMPERIAL HOBSTAR aka ROANOKE STAR. Originally made ca. 1913. Reissued from 1955-1979. The color of yours looks like what they were calling Antique Blue. Info on page 110 of Garrison's "Rare Imperial Glass Patterns" (which I didn't find anything too particularly rare in it).

  • @glassusa BOB ... thanks, I believe that will help with the mug; however, 2 of them are cups. I had hoped to get pictures done today, but it was a non-stop day of interruptions all afternoon. Didn't get one thing listed much less get any pictures taken. Well, tomorrow I'll be in Tulsa morning and afternoon then late afternoon and evening I have an Art Show to attend. No rest for the wicked.

  • Good afternoon, glassies.

@ginnyrose CAROL ... so glad to see you stopping in. Hope all has been going well with you.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like great fun and hoping you have a wonderful trip!

@glassusa BOB ... Sorry, I'm no help, but it's a lovely little cruet.

@carma CARL ... sorry to hear that your one little warm day is going to cause your weather to be even worse tomorrow.

@gabla GEORGE ... I was thinking, don't you collect mugs? I have three mugs and I'm thinking they are all three reproductions, but I can't find anything definite. 1. Bryce Bros/US Glass ROBIN IN TREE, 3 3/4" tall, green.
    2. Atterbury ROBIN, 3 1/2" tall, deep blue .
    3. Unknown, HERON & PEACOCK, 2 5/8" tall, deep green.
I have a Degenhart book and they have #3 listed as STORK & PEACOCK, but it says it has the Degenhart logo and this mug does not. Appreciate any help you might be able to give.

  • @glassusa Bob as I hear it only eBay and PP systems will not offer Parcel Select until March because they did not get the programs done. The service is supposed to be available through the USPS. I am told there is also a "Parcel Standard" not sure yet what that covers or if it will be available without standing in line at the PO.

  • @glassusa BOB ... I got the notice from Ruby Lane also. Not only the advertising fee going from 20 to 30 but the base listing fee of 15 is going up to 24. Still and all, I'm happy with Ruby Lane so far. I play games on-line quite often and I was surprised to see Ruby Lane advertised on one of the game sites! So I guess they really are trying to get the name out there.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... surely hope you have a productive swap meet and that the weather won't be too brutal.

    HI to HELEN!

  • @glassusa Bob, That Ruby Lane increase is a pretty significant increase in cost.

  • @glassusa BOB ... this is a website that I had bookmarked in case the day ever came that I would find a piece of Peachblow or Burmese....the day which has yet to arrive. πŸ™‚ http://www.theglassmuseum.com/peachblow.htm

  • Bob @glassusa My little reference book down here says Burmese is shading from yellow at the base to a salmon or deeper pink at the top. I don't have any references for peach blow
    Julie

  • @glassusa Bob - Technically Scarlet was purchased from a Breeder who specialized in showing Cavaliers. Scarlet didn't like the "Show Arena" so breeder was at a loss on what to do with her. Wife & I convinced her to sell her so we "rescued" her from a probable life of breeding. She has a long bloodline of Champions & Grand Champions.

    Gail - Thank you 38 years & counting !!!!

  • @glassusa BOB ... possibly FLOWER AND DIAMOND by U.S. Glass #15147, 1913.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... isn't it on your SYI form under the Fixed Price amount?

  • Good evening to all. Won't bore you with my day, but it was busy. Got a lot accomplished but ready to hit the recliner and watch Antiques Roadshow and Market Warriors. πŸ™‚

@panishklo MARSON ... I've been having nothing but trouble on IE for the past week. It just keeps freezing on me. Very irritating. I've gotten to where I've just been using Firefox most of the time because of the IE problems.

@glassusa BOB ... nice piece. I checked my Hobbs book and apparently some were made by Hobbs and some by other companies. The picture of their compotes wasn't clear enough to compare the details.

HI to HELEN, GEORGE, REEN, FRAN2, and KATIE!

  • @glassusa Nice piece of glass Bob. Congratulations!

  • Good Morning Already it was 30Β°C here by 8a.m Weather reports are scarey. High to Extremely High to Catastrophic fire conditions predicted for today. Bad fires already in parts of Australia. Tasmania has had some bad ones where many homes have been lost.
Bob @glassusa LOL I know what you mean with eBay's search They sure do come up with some doozeys LOL I have been left scratching my head many times wondering how on earth my search had them suggesting some of the things they were suggesting had anything remotely related LOL
Reen @reen I hope you feel better soon.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I've been up to my ears in alligators all morning and this is the first chance to sit down and relax. Got Rocky to the groomer; buying pet supplies at Atwoods; business at the bank; City Hall to pay water bill; antique mall to leave a couple of items; feeding, watering outside pets; getting my Amazon Payments transaction finished; stripping bed of sheets and blankets to launder; sweeping house to get ready to vacuum....and then just decided that was enough. Have more to do but it will be for later today. Just plan to play on the computer for a while. πŸ™‚

@glassusa BOB .... that related searches is the biggest waste of time, space, and money. It really irritates me. 😑

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... That innocent look on Ava was her little serious/sober side. I'll have to see if I can scan a pic that shows her little perky eye-twinkle side. πŸ™‚

HELLO to JULIE, KATIE, DON, and MARTY!

  • @glassusa , Thank you for the ID! Duh...smacking myself in the head.I knew it looked familiar but I had Teardrop stuck in my head. Canterbury was one of the first patterns I learned to identify. Back in my early days on the Chatboard, Marypat and I met up for a trip to the Del Mar Antique show. She has a daughter who collects the Canterbury pattern ,so when we ran into a dealer friend of hers with an extensive selection, Marypat lightened his return trip home considerably! LOL

  • @glassusa BOB ... well, what a happy accident on your BIN! Congratulations! As for my boxes, I particularly wanted to get the items in the post today since they will already be delayed a day with the post office closed tomorrow.

    ???????
I bought a pair of Heisey Grape Cluster candlesticks and they have candle wax all in the cups. Suggestions for how I get that off?

My eyelids are getting heavy...not certain I'll be able to stay up to see the ball drop.

    HI to HELEN and CARL.

  • Good afternoon. Been to Miss P's birthday party and now its time to rest awhile.
Such a busy time of the year being very socvial LOL
Gail @songbreeze my condolences for the loss of your Uncle.
Bob @glassusa congrats on your great bargain WTG!!
Amber @amber1986 yes isn't technology just fantastic!
Julie..seriously thinking about having a Nana Nap

  • Had supper and spent the Christmas Eve-Eve evening with my sister. We celebrated tonight because she's too busy to do it tomorrow evening, and Christmas Day she and her boyfriend will be together.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like a grand time to spend with your family. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

@glassusa BOB ... Sorry, but I don't know what the name of the base/stand may have been.

@ohiostar FENTON... I rather thought a similar scenario with CARL's @carma mystery card. Once I bought a bunch of stuff from a couple on eBay and they sent me a Christmas Card.

Well, I got stopped right in the middle of this post. Sister was trying to print out a postage label on usps.com and got all confused. I walked her through most of it but then she couldn't get it to print out. I threw a wrap/cape over my most comfortable of all snowman pajamas (I love my sis but not enough to get me to change out of my most comfortable...), prayed I wouldn't have a wreck and have to explain my pajamas, and got over to her house to get her postage all untangled and printed. All's well that ends well.

HI to SHELLY, AMBER, MARYMELODEE, and GEORGE.

  • Just home from Church and getting ready to head out the door to the mall.

@glassusa BOB … HORSESHOE CURVE aka TWINS by Imperial http://www.ddoty.com/twins.html

  • @glassusa BOB ... I was so surprised that I sold 4 things so quickly on Ruby Lane that I'll not complain that it's been a dry spell this month. Nice to know it's not just me though. πŸ™‚ American Sweetheart in Monax is my "good china". I've worked to get a fairly complete set. I LOVE the pattern and it takes my breath away to see it in blue or red. This yellow color flabbergasted me. I've never heard of another piece.

  • @bobrhonda BOB & RHONDA ... Welcome to the Glass Chatroom. So glad you joined us. Please take time to click on the tab in the upper right hand labeled "How To" Manual to familiarize yourself to how this board works. Also in the right hand column you will find lots of info on the links Welcome to Glass Chat and How to Post a Picture Link. We look forward to chatting with you all.

@glassusa BOB ... You mean you're not in the market to offer free home delivery? πŸ˜† Yikes! 20 miles there, 20 miles home, my gas would cost me more than $5 they wish to save.
