• @baabaamason Bob, it is Paul Nowack and I've seen him posting in the Vintage Glass group. Stay warm! It's cold here in NJ but at least we have a little sun today.

  • Good Morning everyone. Very very windy here today, such a big difference to yesterday's warm sunny weather
I had a lovely morning out for breakfast with a dear friend and my sister after I finished bootcamp training.

Reen @reen I am sure I will feel the exact same way you do, when it comes time for me to leave this house full of wonderful memories.I have the plans in my head of what I want to and should do but just can't seem to get myself to put them into action just yet. A few more years and I should downsize.
Katie @fyrqueen Glad Mags ate some breakfast
Bob @baabaamason Not sure what the solution is for your issues with FB. Is there somewhere , when you try to sign in that says "forgot your password" If so, they'll email you the password.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone, Rain has gone, sun is shining but it's cold and windy. A lot of our east coast has copped a battering from the storms. Lots of damage. Bootcamp was cancelled this morning due to lack of interest from most of the girls, so I had a little sleep in. I also had a lovely breakfast out with my sister at my favourite cafes.
Gail @songbreeze I use to have a fitbit. I had to buy a new phone as my old one was not compatible. Once that issue was solved it was very easy to get up and running.

Bob @baabaamason maybe this will help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSI0DPagnEQ
    or this one
    http://www.instructables.com/id/Clean-Your-Sticky-Laptop-Keyboard/

  • @carma Carma, yikes! I hope you find a plumber and can get this fixed as soon as possible. So sad that you'll miss Emma's graduation -- I'm sure she'll understand and will know that you may not be there physically but will be with her in spirit.

@baabaamason Bob, glad that BIN and his friend will still be together, but definitely tough on you. Has it really been 10 years? I remember when you got her. So glad that BIN is back in good health and that he will have good people looking after him.

    @lilac1987 Sara, Happy Birthday!!

  • Gail @songbreeze that is such good news ((((hugs))))
Bob @baabaamason ((((hugs))))) to you too. I know that would have been a very difficult time for you

  • @baabaamason Bob, first, gentle {{hugs}} for you and BIN. Second, laptops often stop charging at 98%, so don't worry if it says it's not charging. It is recommended that you occasionally let the battery run down to almost empty and then charge it up again. So although I mostly use my laptop plugged in, every now and then, I'll leave it unplugged and let the battery run down.

  • Good morning everyone YEEEHAAAA!!!!! Daylight Savings has finally finished down here. Now we can get back to normal time.
Shelly @shellyrae37 my grandson already wants to go camping with me. But I can only take one at a time because of the seating in my ute. Our regulations down here require children to be in Harnessed Child restraint seats. I can't have those fitted in my ute. This is why it is only now that I can take my DGD, she is now big enough to use a booster seat. Grandson is not old enough or big enough to legally be able to use a booster seat yet. He is adorable and understands it all , just as his sister did and is eagerly waitng till he is 5 yrs old so he can go camping with Grandma. And because of the seating in my ute it will be one child at a time. No room for 2 booster seats
Bob @baabaamason such sad news πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™ BIN became so much a part of our lives in the days of the Old GB, so sad to know he is in pain. I know how hard this must be for you (((((Hugs)))))

  • Good Morning

@baabaamason, I have no idea what is going on. I know I didn't send any such message. Thanks for letting me know, I will see if I can find anything.

    ***Don

  • HELLO EVERYONE, another beautiful day here, 41*; but heard it is coming to an end with more snow storms heading this way..

JIML, & BOB @baabaamason, Doesn't long term investments come into play here, or short term.. Been so long since I did taxes for anyone else I never bother to keep up.. My own are fairly simple..

HI KATIE, hope you feel better soon.. Chicken Noodle soup with lots of Pepper I have been told..

HI JULIE, Good to hear you had a great weekend, and didn't get rained out? Something wrong with that picture, or all in doors?
Glad your home safe now you might have a few days to rest up before your next outing.. Oh thats right you have to Mow.. Bummer.

HI DON, Sun out again at your place finally huh? You thought of Bobs glass too, I bet its a hard choice to make what to sort our and what to keep.. I bought another Murano Elephant yesterday, couldn't pass it up..

THANKS GEORGE, I never did use the sticky keys, but glad to know there is a way out.. LOL

HI MARSON, GAIL, FRAN2, NANCYP, and anyone else passing through..

  • Good Evening Every One, A little chill in the air at 31*, a few bands of light flurries passing through today, which looks much like we will be getting a little snow for much of the next week or so. Really am not going to complain..

GAIL I too love to play cards and Dominoes, but hard to pin anyone down to anything regular.. Thought about going to the Senior Citizens meetings maybe they have reg. card games, I could get involved in. Thats only about 3 miles into town from here. Enjoy your night out, Sometimes you just have to do something different to clear the clutter out of your head.. One can get bogged down and a need to get refreshed..

HI JIM & JULIE, I see Julie might be lost in her grass, but not sure what she is hiding behind..
    Cute gif JIML,
By the time Julie gets back maybe someone will have mowed her grass or at least it will have dried out so she can,
JULIE cute cozy on your coffee cup, wonder why no one has ever thought of making those to sell, Nice in the winter when your coffee cup cools off too fast.

HI GEORGE, I see that Sticky Key in the set up and often wondered if I wanted to try that or leave well enough alone, because I am not sure how I would get out of it if I did not like it.. I sometimes make changes and wonder how I got to that place to begin with.. so leave well enough alone.. Never did learn how to play Bridge.

HI CARL did you and your Wife get home safely yesterday after the threat of too much snow or ice, coming your way?
We had 54* yesterday you must be running a day behind us.. I see we are to have 40 on Sunday, but 20s & 30s for the at least a week after with snow every day.. but I do not think much accumulation.

BOB @baabaamason if you click on Carls name it will take you to his past posts on The Glass Board maybe you can find if you go back far enough where he ID'd your Vases before..

HI LAINEY, USA BOB, WENDY, FENTON, & IRENE, Wishing everyone well, take care..

  • Good Morning everyone. Sunny here today and it is going to be hot-ish. I say "hotish" because even though it's going to be hot,it will be bearable. And compared to what we get in Summer it will be mild LOL. I have a yard to mow, can't put it off any longer πŸ™
Bob @baabaamason I am also guilty of spending too much time on Facebook. I am a member of a lot of different Groups, so it keeps me busy. My latest is a Camping around Australia Group. 51,000 members. All talk about their travels, where they stay, recommend Free camping spots ,what its like etc. As I plan to hit the road one day and do some travelling, going wherever it is I feel like going, this group is of great interest to me.And I am getting a chance to "talk" to a lot of females doing it on their own. That gives me a lot of encouragement to be able to do it by my self.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. The sun has started to shine so now its sticky and humid.
Gail @songbreeze ((((((((hugs)))))))) dolly steps at a time . Just do what you can and don't over do things
I am glad you are enjoying the sewing group
Bob @baabaamason I am so pleased for you that your darling furbabies are home
Don @donscns that was my kind of day yesterday. I didn't have any desire to do much at all. I call it a Post Xmas Hangover Too much of all the bad things e.g sugar But now its Monday and its back to normal, lots of water to help flush the system from all the rubbish I fed it and back to healthy eating. Its Bootcamp training tonight too. I think I am going to really struggle LOL
Marson @panishklo glad you are home safe and sound.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Another hot day ahead for us.
Reen @reen I hope your hip feels better after moving around a bit
Bob @baabaamason glad you are improving.Won't be long and you will be fully mobile
Wes @norske65 just in case you don't get back here before Xmas ...A merry Christmas to you
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. Been a bit of sad day for me. It was Dh's 6th year memorial. I decided to get Miss P to spend the day with me and help me do the Xmas decorations. I have 3 Special Xmas Baubles with photos in them 1 of DH 1 of my Dad and 1 of my nephew who passed away a few months before DH. Miss P was given the honour of placing these on the tree.
Gail @songbreeze & Shelly @shellyrae37 I am glad you are enjoying my coffee gifs
Jim @dorbitz thanks for sharing yuor lovely collection
MM @maryr you have made my day by popping in for a visit. You have been missed. It's so good to "see" you πŸ˜€ ((((((hugs))))))
Bob @baabaamason I am so glad you got to see Sweetie and Buddie to lift your spirits πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Sorry for not posting the coffee. I had planned on doing that befotre I left for the party but then forgot. But I see Gail has got it covered. Thanks. BTW I am feeling OK just a bit tired LOL and sore feet (too much dancing )
Bob @baabaamason It's great to see you and knowing you are on the mend.
    Nancy @jerseystar27 Safe travels
Marson @panishklo waving at you πŸ™‚
Alicia @4931nextdoor I hope you are doing well

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY @wjweese

  • @wjweese Wendy, Happy Birthday!! I hope it's a great day.

@baabaamason Bob, so good to see you and so glad you're healing. Glad you'll be getting to see your furkids -- I'm sure they miss you too.

Wishing everyone else with health issues wishes for speedy and complete healing.

We're in the United Club lounge waiting for our flight to San Francisco. DH has a conference so we'll be there until Friday night (taking the red-eye home).

  • Good Morning everyone. We have had some very hot days. Yesterday was 43Β°Celsius. A thunder storm with a bit of rain did come through in the afternoon but it was very short lived. Over before it started But other area's did cop it bad. Some bushfires caused from lightening strikes, trees and power lines down and heavy rain.
More high temps today and supposedly rain and thunder storms this arvo
Bob @baabaamason I hope you can manage at home OK without too many issues.
Reen @reen so sorry to hear your friend has to have a leg amputation. I hope all goes as well as can be for her.
Fenton @ohiostar thanks for the update on Paul Glad he is still doing well.
    Julie

  • Shelly -- they may call them the NY Giants and the NY Jets but the stadium they play in (MetLife Stadium) is in NJ (officially East Rutherford, NJ), about 20 minutes from me. And yes, New York City is very far from Buffalo. There is no snow down here. The story with L.E. Smith and Greensburg Glass is that L.E. Smith purchased the Greensburg Glass Co. in February, 1920, and operated it as Plant #2. It was sold in 1939 to American Glass Corp., a manufacturer of chandelier glass (from "L.E. Smith Encyclopedia of Glass" by Tom Felt, his second L.E. Smith book).

@baabaamason Bob -- glad to hear from you, so sorry you're having such a hard time. I hope your ankle continues to heal and that you are able to deal with being at home. (And once you're healed up and back to dealing with stuff, we need to talk about that glass penguin.)

    Nancy

  • Good Morning everyone, over cast and coolish down here.
Katie @fyrqueen I think the handles could be xylonite
Bob @baabaamason i hope the broken ankle doesn't slow you down too much. I know how busy you have been downsizing πŸ˜‰
    Julie

  • Just checking emails and facebook and Jayne Roffee-Stoll posted that BOB in KY @baabaamason has broken his ankle!

  • @baabaamason Bob, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Wishing you a great day.

  • πŸ˜€ HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB @baabaamason πŸ˜€

  • Good Morning

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY, Any special plans like going canoeing? Or just enjoy the day relaxing, hope its a good day no matter what you do.

@Glass*usa BOB, you are finding some interesting things.. Keep up the good work.
I bought some Crackle glass yesterday.. 6 pces Clear and 5 Small plates in Pink. Still packed haven't had time to get them out. Nothing valuable like what you are finding.

HI REEN how are you feeling this morning, Well enough to go to church or still iffy.. Know your not one to spread your germs with others.. Do take care.. CONGRATULATIONS on another Anniversary. Maybe you can feel better soon, and then go out to celebrate.. Every year is another reason to be proud. Seems you both chose winners..

@baabaamason BOB Just love your Peacock dish.. I think most plates with figures on them are beautiful. Sure wishing I could shop in your neighborhood.. πŸ˜‰

IRENE maybe your critter has moved on, hopefully..

MARSON So much rain, will surely wash out the farmers crops won't it.. Up go the prices..
Around here farmers are saying prices are higher on all the fruits due to the hard winter, but I see plenty of it for sale, doesn't look like a scarcity to me that justifies higher prices, but then again, I don't see how it may have effected the sales to big companies..

GAIL your a sweetHEART, think I will join you in a cup this morning and I have to get moving too. Stayed up til 1:00 Pre preparing food for reunion today, now to finish it..
Sun is shining so praying rain predicted holds off.. Good luck at getting your bucket list finished today, tomorrows another day..

HI LYNN, thank you, I have so many bottles of perfumes to sell, just have to make time.. mostly all miniature ones..

Would love to be by the Falls today, it surely is a Wonder of the World.. Love it there, but not enough to pay NY taxes.. LOL
    Have a great day JIM

HI CARL, DON, SUZY and all others missed..

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... you're a sweetie, thanks for the vote of confidence with my working on the FB EAPG List.

  • @fyrqueen KATIE ... bravo! It's been a while since I've sold anything...certainly not for trying!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... yes, I ID'd Reen's glass back on Saturday as the same.

  • Good morning, glassies. Up early as I have to carry my friend to Tulsa today for a doctor's appointment. Also I sold something on RL and have to get it packed up and mailed before we leave town as we won't get back til late afternoon or early evening.

@carma CARL .... One of my FAVORITE patterns, and I just treated myself to the table set last month! It's just gorgeous!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... please let me know if you plan to put that piece up for sale.

@reen REEN ... hope you are feeling better or is the cold weather giving you more grief?

  • Good morning, glassies. Busy busy busy time. Seems like time gobbles up the day before I even know where it's all gone.

@donscns DON ... the weather report really shows you all getting smacked with winter. So glad I made my trip to the East Coast when I did. At one point we were thinking that it would be nice to be there for Thanksgiving, but I didn't want all the travel congestion associated with the holidays. Glad I'm not having to deal with flights. Actually I might be going to Wichita with my sister and her partner on Thursday and staying overnight, but it will only be a 3-hour car ride.

@carma CARL ... Love the pitcher and the commentary. I've never seen that rim and it's good to learn that it is a Northwood signature shape.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... sorry I don't know your syrups. I'm getting ready to go to Church, but when I return, if the milk glass one hasn't been ID'd yet, I'll look through my milk glass books.

  • Good morning, glassies.

@reen REEN ... LOL! What an appropriate video!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... sorry, I have no idea on the tumble-up.

@dorbitz JIM L ... deciding to get back into the Carnival Glass buying market? Hope that also means you will have more time to stop in the chatroom more often. I don't use a debit card so I don't know how PayPal works with that, but SHELLY says hers works OK, so hopefully yours will too.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... yes, SHELLY has aptly named you the Energizer Bunny. πŸ˜€

Good Morning, CARL, DON, GEORGE, KATIE, WENDY, and SHELLY!

  • @baabaamason Bob that green covered low standard compote looks like Frosted Ribbon to me. george

  • @baabaamason - your lamp and vase are lovely - I am not familiar with them but I am learning more about the Webb Moroccan pieces thanks to you. It is absolutely beautiful.

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY and @carma CARL… Yes, and I believe it’s even printed on the ”normal” Priority box… ”Domestic or International.” The flat rate boxes also are for Domestic or International but if the address is abroad it will cost you a different flat rate than here in the U.S.

  • @panishklo MARSON ... speaking of fresh vegetables...I went to a fleamarket yesterday and they had home-grown tomatoes and I can't begin to tell you how wonderful they are! I have two left and will devour them tomorrow.

@ver2us1 JANICE ... good to see you popping in! Don't stay away so long!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I also taught typing ... on manual typewriters at that. My 2 1/2 years as a high school typing teacher were quite unusual. πŸ™‚

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... so glad Janice was able to help you. I'm as dumb as a door nail when it comes to baked dirt.

@reen REEN ... I sent you an email and hope you see it.

  • Had another marathon afternoon nap. πŸ™‚ @baabaamason BOB in KY ... I would say "ruff" was the mother of all understatements. I will never complain again! 15 days!!!

  • Good morning, glassies. A beautiful day, mild, in the mid-80s today.

Was so very very sad to learn of Amber's passing. I don't know if it was her ID...amber1986...or what that I always thought she was younger...or too young for a heart attack for sure. She always had such a perky personality too, so I just had her in my mind as though she was around 40 or so. Will really miss her.

@reen REEN ... Like Shelly, I am also having problems seeing the pattern in the spooner. I see the thumbprints but can't make out what is to the side of them. 2 separate patterns or one large diamond grid pattern?

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... Sorry I don't know your lamp finial, but it sure is pretty. What is the name of the Facebook group?

Good morning to NANCYJEAN, DON, CARL, KATIE, and GEORGE.

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... I'd agree GAELIC for the heart and the bowl is NEW CRESCENT, Bryce, Higbee & Co.,

@suzy SUZY ... so sorry you have to put up with such an awful seller. They ought to be suspended for a certain length of time when they send nastygrams like that. Sock it to 'em!

  • Good morning, glassies.

@carma CARL ... sure, your grass is going to be high, but I'm worried about your tomato plants. How are they holding up with your non-summer weather.

@reen REEN and CARL ... I actually don't know how large my booths are...here in Vinita it's probably 8'x8' and is $60; Fairland about the same size is $50; Joplin I have 10x2 booth, a 10x3 booth, and a 2 glass shelf small showcase, all for $112. So rents are cheap cheap cheap compared to East and West Coast....but the downside is that almost no one collects glass! The top sellers are primitives in this area. To bad that I have not only no knowledge but also absolutely no interest in primitives.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... sorry, I just don't have any idea about that piece.

@sunwoman3663 JANICE ... sorry you had to deal with the rash. I can only imagine how irritating and frustrating it is. Hope you are totally on the mend now.

    HI to DON and GEORGE!

  • gabla @george and Bob @baabaamason --Having grown up on a farm when my dad had 2 mules I find donkeys and mules very interesting. I am reading a fascinating books "In Deep" by Maxine Kumin in which she goes to great lengths in describing the history of mules and donkeys and how there were various crosses between horses and mules. Royal Gift was a donkey that was gifted to George Washington in 1785 by Charles III, the King of Spain. He proceeded to aquire more donkeys through breeding procedure. Thomas Jefferson also had donkeys.

  • Home from making my rounds up in Fairland. Bought a couple of things but need to research them

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... the plate is LONE STAR (OMN) aka SQUAT PINEAPPLE by McKee Bros. ca 1898.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... so glad to see you posting. Was about ready to form a search party!

  • Good morning, glassies. Would have loved to sleep another 8 hours. πŸ™‚ Blue sky, white clouds, and sunshine today. Welcome relief.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I looked at your bowl but don't recognize it. Sorry.

My yard is littered with tree limbs and some huge branches, but I'm going to hope the man who mows the lawn comes today and takes care of it. If he doesn't come to it, I guess I'll need to go drag the stuff into a pile.

I need to start my rounds of settling up with the malls. Suppose I'll go to Fairland this afternoon after Church and try to restock some stuff.

@carma CARL ... take a picture of what your layout is so far...and then another when you have it all changed. I still think when all is done and said you should write a book about this endeavor for hobbyists.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Going to be stormy a bit later. Working on a new baby blanket for my West Coast grandkids.

@amber1986 AMBER ... Shelly posted twice just yesterday.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... go to Replacements, see what they are selling the pitcher for, and cut the price in half.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... nothing definite on dates, but planning around the last 2 weeks of July to be on the East Coast. Haven't decided if I will fly or drive....leaning more toward driving. I really want to get over to see the WVMAG. Wondering, too, if there might be any glassies on the trek from NE Oklahoma to Washington, DC should I decide to drive. Actually going to Clarksburg, MD.

HI to JULIE, REEN, CARL, DON, JANICE, FRAN2, and GEORGE!

  • @baabaamason According to Weatherman's "Fostoria, the First Fifty Years", the actual capacity of the 1/2 gallon "jug" is 71 oz. Picture looks just like yours.

  • @baabaamason Bob - could be Atterbury Dancing Sailor.

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... the small bowl is HORSESHOE MEDALLION by New Martinsville Glass Co. #707 ca. 1908

  • Good morning, glassies. Nasty tornado weather starting this afternoon and continuing tomorrow. Right now it's 85% humidity and suppose to get to 89Β°.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... yes, that is the correct stopper. The pattern is MARJORIE by Cambridge (#2631), ca. 1906.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... what sweet furballs. I have one little wee kitty that's getting brave enough to come on the porch to eat. I'll have to try and get a picture.

Have Mass this morning then a large Pot Luck dinner afterward. Our church is named Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and we celebrate every year on Pentecost. My pot luck contribution is to run to the grocery store deli section, get some potato salad or something, bring it home, and re-pot it. It will surely be tastier than anything I would make. πŸ™‚

    HI to BOB!

  • Good gravy, guys, I had to go polish my tiara before I could find the vase. πŸ™‚ It is Cambridge Near Cut #2660 aka WHEAT SHEAF, c. 1901. Oops! thought I better enter the email thingy @baabaamason & @donscns

  • @baabaamason: Most collectors will be looking for Desert Rose dishes made in the USA, but of course, sometimes a piece won't be marked. Sometimes they will have a small number on the back and nothing else. As to the best marks this site has a list of Franciscan marks. At the left, click "archive library" and then "Franciscan marks". A PDF booklet will appear, and for Desert Rose you will want the marks shown on page 4 (near the bottom),page 5, page 6, page 7, page 10, and 11.

  • @baabaamason Hi Bob, Sorry I never responded last week after I asked you the measurements about your Fenton piece. My DH had another back surgery January 22nd and just when I thought everything was calming down the poor thing (dh) slipped. I had to rush him in and was crazy around here again. Now things are finally calming down again (keeping my fingers crossed as i say that).
As for the piece you had pictured, I must say I agree with you. I can not find one thing referencing it in any of the books I have. Maybe it's an undocumented piece? Please, if you find anything out let me know. I'll keep looking too.

Hello to everyone else also. I haven't read the posts yet but wanted to pop in quickly.

  • @baabaamason: You can Google and find out about Malwarebytes. Then you can decide for yourself if you want it. It is a good program, IMO.

    Janice

  • @baabaamason: Malwarebytes is a program that can remove malicious software from your computer like computer viruses, ransomware, worms, trojan horses, spyware, adware, other malicious programs; the majority of active malware threats are usually worms or trojans rather than viruses.

Somehow the program was put on your desktop, and when you clicked on it, it was asking if you wanted it installed (make changes to your computer). I had it on my old computer but I have Norton on this one (through my ISP) so I don't need it now.

    Janice

  • Ohh and I almost forgot... I've been trying to access the Shetlar's stretch glass page. I'm not having any luck. i get the strangest error message, saying that the site has a list of IP address that are blocked from using the site and that my browsing computer's address is on it. What the heck???? This is a first for me. I've never had this happen before. Can someone check and see if it is an issue with the site? It has me a bit worried that my computer may have been hacked or something.

@Baabaamason, Here you go. Page 250

    http://i50.tinypic.com/2hwlg6w.jpg

  • @baabaamason: Bob, here is a bad pic from the Witmeyer Fenton book. Maybe you can see enough to give you an idea:

    http://i46.tinypic.com/qyv51i.jpg

  • @baabaamason BOB ... I see one lamp on page 265. Can you post a picture of your lamps?

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... yep, the roast was really good. My sister stopped by for coffee and a chat and I sent here home with a container of roast, potatoes, carrots and strawberry jello with bananas in it.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... so glad the swap worked out well for you and the weather made a turn around.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I have Whitmyer's "Fenton Art Glass: 1907-1939" and "Fenton Art Glass Patterns: 1939-1980" but there are no lamps on page 250 so it must be a different book you are looking for.

  • Good Morning everyone. The respite for the heat wave continues and it is only suppose to reach 26Β°C today. But tomorrow the mercury will be climbing again.
Helen @10bbg10 Congratulations on your new great GS
Katie @fyrqueen Good luck to Jonathan
Bob @baabaamason I too am always in awe when patterns like that get ID’ed so quickly. My eyes just glaze over, they all look the same to me
    @sewerrats http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Bartending/Drinkware/Glassware

  • Good evening, glassies. Horrible weather today. Cold, wet, sleet, etc.

@baabaamason BOB and @mainewildrose SUE ... I'm thinking that celery looks like ALFA (OMN) aka REXFORD aka EUCLID by John B. Higbee Glass Co. (1907); New Martinsville Glass Co. (#21, 1919).

  • @fyrqueen KATIE ... You can always let a Seller know ... it's only auction interference if you let the Bidder know...something one used to be able to do when you could see the bidder's user ID.

    @sellingthings MARTY ... yes, indeed, Indiana's Hobnail.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... hope the day cools off for you.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... Sweetie is for sure a sweetie!

HI to MARY B, DON, CARL, FRAN2, SHELLY, MARSON, GEORGE, & REEN.

  • Good Morning everyone. I was up & at 'em early this morning. Went to a deceased estate but was that few minutes too late, arriving as one of the local dealers here was loading his ute.
Amber @amber1986 Glad you are back πŸ™‚ I don't have Windows 8 I have Windows 7, came with my new computer and I am happy with it.
Gail @gailmacphee I would just hold my breath and wait the required amount of time to see if he/she pays. If they don't then I would start a NPB claim. I don't think they can leave you feedback if a NPB claim has been filed against them.
Bob @baabaamason YEAH!!!!! I think I have fixed the problem I have been having viewing your pics which have always been showing absolutely huuuuuuge on my screen . I started to play around with your last image. AS I said before that if I would right click & hold I would get a small thumbnail pic show up on top of the huge pic. Anyway The maginfying icon was of no use, it just made it even bigger. But just now I notice a little magnifying glass icon in the right hand corner of the URL section, where there is usually a star icon to bookmark the webpage. I clicked on the magnifying icon and VOILA your pics are normal. HAPPY DAYS!!!
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone
Bob @baabaamason glad you enjoyed looking at my glass. The clock with the ladies is Windsor by Walther and Sohne - Germany

  • Good Morning everyone, Very dark here atm, over cast and raining. My kinda weather πŸ™‚ Suppose to stay this way till tomorrow and then HOT will be back which I am sure will be accompanied with HUMIDITY Not my kinda weather πŸ™
Don @donscns I hope you are feeling better by now.
Bob @baabaamason thanks for putting a smile on my face. I just loved your post about downsizing. Dh & I would head off to an auction or market, telling each other we are just going to look, not buying a thing unless it was something really really special, always came home with a heap of stuff because it was cheap and we just couldn't bring ourselves to leaving it there Or if we were really well behaved and resisted those kind of purchases,we would walk around and around and around many times trying to find that something special. We had a problem about coming home with nothing LOL Many a collection here was started that way LOL We could easily talk each other into starting a new collection if there was nothing that fitted our collections we already had LOL
Gail @songbreeze thanks for the correction πŸ™‚ All fixed now with the correct info.
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. We reached 77Β° yesterday and suppose to have another lovely day today.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... the correct spelling has 2 "b"s. . . Debbra. Introduced in 1933. Line #770. I think it is the most beautiful bowl and sad they didn't make an extended table set.

@donscns DON ... sorry you are feeling under the weather. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

@carma CARL ... I think it's getting that time that we need an updated picture on your train project!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I know you don't sell on eBay, but do you have some other area where you sell?

Have to get ready for Church now. Breakfast is a big slice of pumpkin pie with a cold glass of milk. Yea!

  • Bob @baabaamason sorry I can't help with searching. I think I am the worlds worst at trying to find what I am looking for LOL. There must be a site out there somewhere that would help but with our searching abilities it may be hard to find LOL

Shelly @shellyrae37 good to hear you are taking care of yourself as well

  • @baabaamason Bob - I Googled "bowknot green depression tumbler" & got 250K hits. LOtsa tumblers on eBay.

  • @baabaamason : Yes, your Carnival bowl is Millersburg Grape Wreath. The Slag Vase is one of those few items that is still classified as maker unknown. It is shown in several early 1900's Butler Bros. Catalogs, but always by itself, never in assortments with any other items that can be traced to a specific maker. Personally, I've always kind of suspected Dugan as the maker due to it's similarity to some of their Carnival vases, but that's just my opinion & nothing more.

  • Good Morning Glass Friends,
Looks like Indy will have a coolish but sunny day. Need to take more pictures. Why do I so often fail to take that last picture that I need to complete and ad? Must be because I am always confused about something. This week it is the time change. Wonder what it will be next week?

@jerseystar27 Nancy, Glad to see you are back in the world of food shopping, laundry and last but not least the world of PC activity,Sorry to see in the news clips that it appears that some the furor is now partly between the haves and the have nots as the folks in the Rockaways and probably other areas are clamoring because the electricity in Manhattan was restored first.
OTOH, there are many news clips showing individuals engaged in efforts to distribute food , water and other necessities.I'm quite sure that our next door neighbor --- a fireman -- is there doing whatever needs to be done.
@baabaamason Bob, Is there a decanter set in the middle of that table? Oh yeah, I see it now.LOL

  • @jerseystar27 Welcome back Nancy!

@baabaamason Bob actually I think instead of sending Gail Mac the stopper, you should just send me the WHOLE set, as it just doesn't look right there amongst all the clear glass...wink wink. Lovely set! And love that green rose bowl, crack and all!

  • Yikes! I've spent the entire afternoon working on entering inventory, deleting inventory, filing receipts, etc.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... #1 is NEW JERSEY (a State Pattern) by U.S. Glass Co., #15070, ca. 1900. #3 is BEADED DRAPE, Northwood, 1905.

  • Good Morning everyone

NancyP @jerseystar27 I am so relieved you checked in.
Has anyone heard from Amber yet?
Bob @baabaamason I do see Paul on Facebook
    Julie

  • @baabaamason Beautiful dish Bob.
    Good evening Glass Friends,
Have had a busy day . The household helper was here today and we accomplished quite a lot. She doesn’t do the best job of cleaning but she is always cheerful, willing and she really moves. She has been with us for a couple of years so she knows our household routine. And she talks loudly enough that we can understand her without having to have her repeat often. That alone gives her a lot of job insurance.

  • @baabaamason Bob, I think that Palm & Scroll rose bowl is really a lovely piece. It would look good on the shelf above m,y computer. Helen in Indy

  • Bob @baabaamason Don't give up hope. All addictions take time to cure.It usually takes several attempts. If if worse comes to worse you can always build another shed LOL OH and you know I have been downsizing so there is plenty of room down here for that lovely rose bowl LOL Enjoy the collecting I say. If it makes you happy and puts a smile on your face , go for it πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • Well I see Toby @abzoid ID it for you Bob @baabaamason At least I got part of it correct LOL
    Julie

  • Bob @baabaamason Maybe Dugan's Palm and Scroll ?

  • Bob @baabaamason - Take what you read on that web site with a grain or three of salt. It's an OK general reference, but there are many errors in the details. I'd be much more comfortable with Craig Schenning's information, and bread tray is much more consistent with the shape given the era.

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... OK, I found it and it looks to be the handled bread tray. The pattern is SUCCESS by Indiana Glass. Schenning's book says "...was introduced ca 1910 and prodouced until about 1921....it is relatively difficult to find." Gives a BV of $120. I have found all his book values to be too high though for today's market. Even at half that price, for $2.00 you did grand!

  • Good morning, glassies

@ohliz ... Welcome to the Glass Chat! So glad you chose to join us.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... So very glad to see you back and posting. I surely do hope you will get your heating fuel and furnace up and running today. I hope shopping for the new appliances will be a fun venture for you all and not an ordeal. Sure did miss you and glad your here. ((((Hugs))))

    @carma CARL ... beautiful foliage!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... lovely tray, but I'm not familiar with it. Super looking ship!

Had a very long day in Joplin yesterday. Buying very little for now. Got the booth restocked though. Had hope to stay home and rest today, but a friend called and needs some help so I'll be gone for part of the afternoon. Weather is very pretty here for now which is a delight.

HI to AMBER, DON, REEN, GAIL MAC, GEORGE, HELEN, & MARSON.

  • It's really weird that I am the only one that has this problem with Bob in KY @baabaamason pics and it seems it only happens to Bob's pics. I don't have this with any others. And its weird that if I click on his pic I get the magnifying glass that makes them even bigger and I also get the little thumbnail pic come up over the top of the huge pic, which I can, by holding my mouse down, move all over the screen . Thumbnails too small and the original pic too big LOL.
Sooooo Bob in KY @baabaamason I am not ignoring you , its just i can't help with anything, cause I can't see them well enough. That being said, I probably would still be of no help even if I could see your pics LOL
    Julie

  • @baabaamason Bob, your pictures are fine on my screen. Those are pretty vases. They sure look like Fenton to me . But whadda do I know?
    Helen in Indy

  • Good Morning everyone. The market I did over the weekend was good and weather was perfect. Our family reunion was fun too
Does anyone else but me have problems with Bob in KY @baabaamason pics. They always appear huuuuge on my screen. I have a very hard time seeing them properly & I have to scroll up & down and side to side. But I did just now stumble on a strange feature, when I was clicking all over the place to see if I could get the pics to shrink. A little thumbnail print shows up on top of the huge pic.
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. Hope everyone is having a fine day.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I've exhausted my resources and couldn't find a match for your compote. Sure is an unusual shape.

  • @baabaamason ... #5 looks like a pattern called Lacy Daisy and #6 Fostoria American

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... You are sooo right, September Morn Nymph. Now where in the world did I come up with the name Venus Rising????? I can't find anything called that when I surf. 😳

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Have been nearly 2 1/2 hrs on the phone, being transferred here, yonder, and there, being placed on hold, etc. All’s well that ends well though.

@ver2us1 JANICE & @fran2 FRAN … I was not familiar with a ”waffle set”. Very glad to learn about it and see a complete set.

@baabaamason BOB in KY … Lovely Venus Rising, isn’t it?

@jerseystar NANCY P and @newtonenterprises JIM D … so good to see you put avatars up so I feel like I’m talking to a real person! That’s one thing I’ve enjoyed on this Chat board.

@carma CARL … What kind of train and what size will you be putting on your set-up? Do you have it yet or will you be adding/building to it with trees and stuff little by little?

@reen REEN … please pass on all my hugs and good wishes to SHELLY!

HI to JULIE, SUE, AMBER, DON, HELEN, GEORGE, IRENE M, MARTY!

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... can I come live in your shed and go to auctions with you? Have pity....this is the auction I'm headed out the door to right now. Never know...might be something hiding in one of those boxes. http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=1548068&category=0&zip=74301&kwd=buffalo%20stampede

  • @baabaamason BOB in KY ... I'm a member of several of the EAPG groups but I'm certain you are referring to the Facebook page. It's really super and glad you joined and are enjoying it.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Crazy morning, but all is well. Lost my sister, but we found her. Long, silly, and funny story, tons of miscommunications, spent all morning driving all about the town searching....but all's well that ends well. πŸ˜€

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... so very glad to hear that all went well with the insurance company. That's just wonderful news.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... are you talking about the EAPG forum on Yahoo Groups or the EAPGS on Facebook..or both? They are both very very good with wonderful experts who give freely of their knowledge.

    Waving HI to everyone!

  • @baabaamason wow on the auction! Are the items all from one household? No buyers premium is great, you can spend more on an item, lol.
@songbreeze we have auctions like that here too - not sure why they run them as they don't sell much and can't be making any money.
@wattleihavenext where you are going looks beautiful and like a great place to relax, hope you have fun.
Fall is approaching here, lots to do outside before the rains hit.
Hope eveyone has a great weekend
    Mary

  • @baabaamason BOB ... I think that vaseline pitcher is a Mosser repro...maybe not...but then again, probably.

@donscns DON ... beats me what that thing is...I'm supposing you are talking about the pink thing that looks like it lights up with the inverted cone. I wondered if it was a lamp and if the two square things to the side of the cone had some sort of fragrance when the lamp was lit. I really don't have a clue, but that was the best my imagination could do with it. πŸ˜€

  • @george GEORGE ... The divided candy dish with lid ...$209.95 on Replacements.

Hah! while BOB in KY @baabaamason is at his wonderful auction...this is what is being offered here tonight. Some people just don't know how to use a trash can......... http://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/1549649.html

  • @baabaamason Bob, Hand cuffing your hands is not going to help when a wink or simple nod of the head will suffice as a bid to most auctioneers.

  • Good Morning everyone. I am heading off up the coast for a few days just to relax and take it easy
Amber @amber1986 Well they say the Koala is always stoned from eating all those eucalyptus leaves thats why they appear docile LOL They are a nocturnal animal & sleep up to 19 hours per day.So when us humans spot them up in the trees they would be sleeping.( probably with a hangover LOL) But they don't take too kindly to be disturbed and they have extremely sharp claws they use for climbing trees. Not something you want taking swipes at you.
Helen @10bbg10 I hope you are all 100% better now after your dental work.
Katie @fyrqueen I am glad your friend is not in any pain
Bob @baabaamason Good Luck at the auction I hope you find some fabulous glass treasures πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • Carma,

Thanks for the ID!! Now maybe Bob @baabaamason can get a deal on it at that auction.

    Bill

  • Good Morning everyone.Another perfect Spring day πŸ™‚
Amber @amber1986 yep I have seen Koalas up close and personal. Just last weekend at the Swap meet there was a koala up a tree. As for nursing one from the wild, I don't think so, they'd scratch you to bits LOL But I have nursed one at the zoo.It was a young one and used to being handled by humans.
Bob @baabaamason Looks like a great auction.

  • Good evening, glassies. Home from Church and just looking out my window and enjoying a lovely view. Mild evening with a delightful breeze. Cold front will be moving in and looks like all that difficult summer heat is at an end.

@amber1986 AMBER ... I've seen a Koala up close, but unless it is dead and stuffed, they are far from cuddly. πŸ™‚ They are mean little critters.

    @fyrqueen KATIE ... the doggy's hair-cut looks grand!

@reen REEN ... hope you have a wonderful time in Philly.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... lol, I knew that was just a typo. I don't usually bother with correcting my typos because I figure people know what I'm talking about...then again, half the time I don't even see them!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I'm jealous as we never have such nice auctions. πŸ™

HI to MARTY, DON, IRENE M, GEORGE, CARL, SUZY, & BILL

  • Good morning, glassies. Beautiful morning here in NE Oklahoma. Getting ready to head out to Church and afterward...no plans yet, but may drive around to some towns and search for treasure.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... always great to find a piece that you've wanted for a long time. Congratulations of your stemware sale!

@abzoid TOBY ... I agree 100% with your "'Many times knowing what NOT to buy saves you far more money....'"

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... Great find on your "pickle" jar. THought it interesting though that they said it was originally called a pickle jar but collectors popularly call it a "marmalade" jar now.

Time for me to beat feet.......see you all later.

HI to KATIE, AMBER, DON, HELEN, GEORGE, MARTY, & CARL!
