• Good afternoon, glassies. Busy on the phone all morning, lining up schedules for medical stuff. August 21 and September 4. Guess that means another month of crocheting. 😆

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... the doctor gave me some kind of prednisone pack where you take 6 pills on the first day, 5 on the next til you finally take just 1.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... I'm wondering just like SHELLY is if you are still buying or if you just have tons of stuff at home that you no longer want? Does sound as though you are way too busy for now and need to slow down and catch your breath.

@amber1986 AMBER ... with 2 cats in the house I can't have any living plant life in the house...and I do miss that. Even the artificial eucalyptus tree has been attacked and severely damaged several times.

Was surprised to see I made a Ruby Lane sale, so I got it packed up and off to the Post Office. That was a pleasant surprise.

    HI to DON and GEORGE!

  • Good Morning everyone. Yesterday turned into a nice warm winter's sunny day.Today a little overcast but there is sunshine.
Gail @songbreeze I hope all your tests are OK
Amber @amber1986 yep I sure did have a ton of fun .Miss P has grown up so much in that short time. I missed her so much. Little Darcy her baby brother has grown too,I think they were both pleased to see me. Lots of hugs and cuddles from them both.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Housework can wait . Your well being is much more important

Here are some of my pics of The Great Ocean Road. I wil share some others later on. I have a ton of work that needs doing here. The fairies didn't come while I was away. Amzing how long the grass has grown and of course even though no one was living in the house the dust still manages to get in over everything LOL whinge whinge whinge whine whine whine

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAURA @lilylalique

  • @amber1986 I am sure that the 3yo DGGS receives the don't make trouble instructions from his parents quite often.

  • Good morning, glassies. We had thunderstorms all night last night. We needed the rain so badly, so we were ever so grateful. Still a bit of rain off and on. We got nearly 2" of rain. Temperatures are still suppose to be in the 90s today, but we are happy with the rain.

@amber1986 AMBER ... It is a small little booklet 7" x 6" that I got at WalMart. The title is BABY WRAPS: 8 crochet blankets. It is Leisure Arts and I think it is #5545. The actual name of the pattern is Spring Breeze.

@carma CARL ... sure would like to join you all for supper! 🙂

  • Good afternoon, glassies. So I'm guessing all of you experiencing the heat and humidity aren't going to knock the doors down moving to Oklahoma? 😆 You're just experiencing our usual summer. Most of us simply try to never be more than an arm's length away from an air conditioner between May through August.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... so glad to hear you are home. Hope you aren't going to get too restless and try to do too much too soon. Give yourself time to mend.

@amber1986 AMBER ... all is well. Just following my instructions. Main testing will be next Thursday. Got all my 5 grandkids' blankets mailed yesterday and now must find another project.

HI to CARL, REEN, DON and GEORGE!

  • Good morning, glassies. Yet another scorcher of a day.

@amber1986 AMBER ... thanks for your encouragement. Actually failed both my stress test and renal artery sonogram. On more medicine now and feel like I'm moving in slow motion. 🙂 More doctor appointments and waiting for a diagnostic angiogram appointment. Just sitting around being lazy in the meantime...and enjoying it thoroughly! 😀

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... Thanks for asking. Medicine is helping so far, but I have to see a specialist in Tulsa as there is a blockage in the renal artery. Don't have the results of the stress test yet. Still just taking things easy. 🙂

  • Good Morning everyone. Sunny here but cold
Everything was a success last night for DD's birthday. I cooked all the meals from my "diet" menu I was a little concerned about Brother in law, who is not into "healthy" But he thoroughly enjoyed everything. Miss P had seconds of the Red Lentil, chickpea and sweet potato soup. Not a cup cake left LOL (carrot cupcakes with cream cheese icing)The orange and fennel chicken was a big hit too
Amber @amber1986 I rarely cook cakes etc I am not much of a sweet eater (Chocolates are a different thing entirely LOL) But decided to do these cupcakes. A little indulgent but healthy as well and not very sweet
Katie @fyrqueen I am glad you are on the mend now. Take care
Don @donscns and Carl @carma LOL ..where's your sense of adventure LOL shopping!! how could you not want to go shopping? LOL Just joking. I am not much of a shopper either. I get bored to tears when I am standing around waiting for my sister to decide on what shoes or dress or whatever she wants.
    Marson @panishklo sounds fabulous!
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies.

@reen REEN … are you busy with your neighbor’s yard sale today? Hope the weather is good for you all.

@itsagas BILL … 400K listings is just ridiculous! What numbskull came up with that idea!

@wattleihavenext JULIE … sounds like a splendid birthday dinner and I know you all had a wonderful celebration.

@carma CARL … glad to hear you are getting a couple of days of decent weather. So far this week our temps have been 95, 95, 95, 94, 97…Heat index yesterday was 105. I think today we are a bit cooler….89 but with high humidity so the heat index will still be in the high 90s.

@amber1986 AMBER … great minds think alike! I spent all afternoon yesterday surfing ”free crochet patterns”. Terrific to have so much available on the internet.

@fyrqueen KATIE … Lyme’s Disease? sure sorry to hear you are ill. Hope the antibiotics take effect right away.

@10bbg10 HELEN … I slaved all day to ID the phurba! 😆 ROTFLOL 😆 Actually it took about 3 minutes. I googled ”3-sided knife” and then hit the ”IMAGES” tab… paged down one time and there they were. Now you know my secret. 🙂

@donscns DON … sounds like a wonderful time you all are having with what will be wonderful cherished memories. Hope you and GEORGE will have a chance to get together.

Well, today is my museum volunteer day. Since the museum is only 3 blocks away and is wonderfully airconditioned and absolutely quiet, it is even more restful than my house. The most work that has to be done is just me getting myself ready and presentable to go. 😀 I take my crochet and a magazine and just relax for the next four hours.

  • @amber1986 ---Our postman picks up packages from our mail box even if the shipping for that day is only Book Rate packages--- I believe the rules are that there should must be a Priority package with every package or group of packages are to be picked up.You probably should talk to your regular postman about pick-up. But our postman is a pretty special postman. I once said to him that for international a postal employee see the shipper. His res0nes was "But I see you all the time."

  • Good morning, glassies. Everyone seems to be up-and-at-it early this morning! Pretty morning, but suppose to have possibility of storms later today...and mid to high 90s all this next week. 😮

@amber1986 AMBER ... No, this is a different Diane that we are remembering. She was a regular on the old eBay Glass Chat before the tragedy. Her eBay user id is "trulyfenton."

HI to REEN, SUZY, CARL, BOB in KY, KATIE, and DON!

  • Good Morning everyone. Last day of Autumn here and though it is chilly first thing, the sun is shining and we are in for yet another DDG day 🙂 I hope this continues through out the weekend because I am heading north up the coast to a Swapmeet tomorrow morning. Last year at this swap it didn't stop raining.
Amber @amber1986 & Betty @sjell Thank you for letting us know Shelly is OK
Janice @sunwoman3663 have you tried Natvia a natural sweetener http://www.natvia.com/ or Norbu http://www.weighitup.com.au/nutrition-and-health/1302/what-is-norbu
Both these sweeteners have been recommended and used in some of the recipes I follow on my "Diet"
    Suzy @suzy ((((hugs)))
    Julie

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Going to be stormy a bit later. Working on a new baby blanket for my West Coast grandkids.

@amber1986 AMBER ... Shelly posted twice just yesterday.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... go to Replacements, see what they are selling the pitcher for, and cut the price in half.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... nothing definite on dates, but planning around the last 2 weeks of July to be on the East Coast. Haven't decided if I will fly or drive....leaning more toward driving. I really want to get over to see the WVMAG. Wondering, too, if there might be any glassies on the trek from NE Oklahoma to Washington, DC should I decide to drive. Actually going to Clarksburg, MD.

HI to JULIE, REEN, CARL, DON, JANICE, FRAN2, and GEORGE!

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... I have the pattern instructions all ready to mail on Tuesday. I ran out of colored ink so I couldn't print a picture of the pattern. I'm posting the blanket again so you can print it out.

  • Good morning, glassies.

@reen REEN … wishing you all kinds of good luck today at your market! Hope the weather stays good and you have great sales.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … wow! it feels so good to get a bid right away. I just hate to have something languish all week and wonder if anyone is even looking at it.

@carma CARL … 8 days of rain would have me so depressed. I love rain…but I just couldn’t go that long without sunshine without it really making me low.

@amber1986 AMBER … I’ll mail your pattern tomorrow. I’m typing up some tips that I think will help keep the rows on track. Had my head spinning for a while and I finally wrote it all out and checked off the row numbers as I went along.

I got my second blanket finished except for tying off all the stray yarn where I made color changes. It’s kind of a blah blanket compared to the first one, but it’s for a little boy so I didn’t think I should decorate it so much with flowers and things.

Must go figure out what to wear to Church today. Something comfortable as there will be a marriage of an older couple and fellowship, cake, and champagne reception afterward. Should be fun.

@donscns DON ... Gosh, do you all ever get rain? What's your annual rainfall?

  • Good afternoon everyone Chilly start to the day but the sun did come up and it is DDG here if you are in the sun. In the shade then its still a little chilly.
Been out all morning with my sister. We went to a market first thing and then to a restaurant for breakfast. Truffled mushrooms on sourdough for me YUM!!
Managed to buy a few bargains that hopefully I can make a decent profit. but NO GLASS
Amber @amber1986 (((((hugs))))) I hope you are all better very soon. You have been missed.
Helen @10bbg10 Hopefully 2nd time around my vase will sell. We always live in hope LOL
Gail @songbreeze Too late my EAPC has a bid.
Reen @reen Good luck at the markets
Marson @panishklo all chocolate is low calorie LOL well that's my story and I'm sticking with it LOL

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TOADBOY @fracnjan

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... glad to see you checking in. Sorry to hear you've been having health problems. Message me with your snail mail address and I will send you the instructions for the blanket. I hope to finish today a different blanket I am doing for my little grandson.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... lovely mama cat. My indoor cats and my outdoor strays LOVE the cat snacks you can get in the little foil packets...Crispies ... Temptations. I've left trails so that they have to come close to me. They can't resist the snack. Takes a lot of time but after a while they will come closer. Eventually you could bait a wild animal trap/cage with the stuff.
I need to take a pic of my little stray that showed up lately. I've named him Frankie because he has such pretty blue eyes.

@donscns DON ... Has your summer vacation begun?

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... if you aren't comfortable with RARE how about SCARCE or HTF?

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I understand that the Red Cross donations don't necessarily go to the disaster specified. But when you think about it, the Red Cross can't wait to get the donations to help people. They have to have funds in their coffers so that they can help immediately...which they do. They are usually there before the last raindrop has landed.

Today is my "babysit the museum day". 🙂

  • Good morning, glassies. Had a strange, full, unsettling day and evening yesterday. Today is a new fresh day and all looks well today.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... a belated Happy Anniversary! Glad you had a pleasant day.

@amber1986 AMBER ... what a beautiful way to celebrate your Melodie's life. ((((Hugs))))

@george GEORGE ... I do hope both you and Anne are doing well.

@dianes DIANE ... wishing all the best for you and your DH. Will be sending up prayers at Mass this morning for his speedy recovery.

So many glassies I missed saying HI to yesterday....a big HELLO to ALL!!!!

  • Good afternoon everyone I am back from a fun weekend away with some friends. It was suppose to be a Bike Run but it was pouring down rain Saturday morning so we all went in cars. Just too wet to ride

Amber @amber1986 I know you love pics of Austalia, so here is a pic of my cousins property. They have a little cottage built right down the back of their property on a dam and we go there sometimes to "party" Beautiful spot and only about 10mins from my place. NO this is not where I went this weekend.

    http://oi33.tinypic.com/dh7kig.jpg

  • Good Morning everyone. The mornings are getting cooler but the water temp is still gorgeous so my swim was very enjoyable and a great start to my day. Just a tad chilly when the cold wind hit me, when I got out LOL
@ohliz I love the Blue Mountains, such a DDG part of the world.
BTW if you can get here by July you are more then welcome to join us on the Great Ocean Road 🙂
Amber @amber1986 Arlie Beach Australia rates No. 3 as Traveller's Choice 2013 And
Turquoise Bay Exmouth comes in as #19. I have not been to either
Katie @fyrqueen I love my caller ID on my phone and also the feature where I can choose different ringtones for phone numbers in my phone book.So if I am not in the room and my phone rings I know by the tune if it is someone I know. If it is not a number I know I will not answer.
    Julie

  • @ohliz what part of Aus did you visit?
Amber @amber1986 Aus is such a varied place, DDG seaside to desert with nothing but red dirt for as far as the eye can see.And you can spend days and days of driving see nothing but flat ground covered in red dirt which gets very boring LOL Our beaches are rated as some of the best in the world, the coast is spectacular.
    http://www.australia.com/about.aspx

  • Good Morning everyone. It is Thursday down here so that means Miss P day 🙂 It is school holidays so there will be no Gymberoo. So my plan for today to keep her busy, is to take her out to the aerodrome just a few mins from here and she can see the planes. She has never seen a plane close up & personal before , so I think this will be fun. Maybe if we are in luck the Tiger Moth will still be there.
Amber @amber1986 Yes I did see that video, thanks.
And while we are sharing our pics I'll share some I have taken on my big Wednesday walks.

The point out in the water is the Ocean Pool where I swim
    https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/555141_3044219081958_1849307116_n.jpg

In the distance that point out into the water is another Ocean Pool.I continue my walk to near there and then back to here to meet up with DD and we do a walk together

    Julie

  • @amber1986 Don't know why that didn't register with me. I have never used Craig's list but my son and son in law are constantly buying and selling cars and car parts on it.

  • Good Morning everyone. Weather over the Easter Holiday was perfect. The market I did was great. Lots of ppl and lots buying. So I am very happy with that 🙂
Amber @amber1986 those little darlings are the love of my life. I love them to the moon and back. Yes I am a very proud Grandma
    Julie

  • Amber @amber1986 yep that cutie is Miss P's brother.

  • Good morning, glassies. Up and at it early. I left 2 bids at an auction that was held Saturday night and I have to drive over to Afton and pick the stuff up at 10:00....no glass. One thing was an elliptical. Now lets see if I can find someone to get it out of the box and assembled....and then see if I will actually use it. 😆

Busy as a bee lately...laundry, dog grooming, bank twice, car lubed, vacuuming, pharmacy, groceries, errands for friend, cleaning out car (to make room for the elliptical I'm getting this morning), post office, flea meds for cats and dog, on and on and on, but that's all I can think of right now.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sorry you met up with some rain at your latest swap meet, but you always seem to make the very best of all occasions and have an enjoyable time with friends.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I see you are home from your vacation. Hope the trip home was good and you aren't overworking now.

@nona NANCYJEAN... so good to see you back and posting!

@amber1986 AMBER ... wow, a new computer! What fun! want to hear all about it.

    Good Morning to ALL glassies!

  • @amber1986 AMBER … I’m the world’s biggest coffee SIPPER…not DRINKER. When all is said and done, I probably only drink a couple of cups a day. Regular in the morning, decaf later. I pour 1/2 cup and drink half of that … then go top it off to warm it up and sip on that.

  • Good Morning everyone. Temps are now gradually dropping getting ready for Autumn.
Shelly @shellyrae37 continued positive thoughts for your DH
Amber @amber1986 Those pics I posted were from a swap meet I did a few years ago.And that particular swap was a huge success. I was flat out selling all day in the pouring rain. LOL It didn't seem to deter anyone.
    Julie

  • @amber1986 Amber - are you looking for the Avon Cape Cod version? I have several pieces still in original boxes plus several loose pieces.

  • All packed and now ready to leave first thing tomorrow morning. I even managed to get 2 auctions listed on eBay, some tins from my collection, no glass sorry. I do have a little carnival glass footed bowl sitting here in front of me that I haven’t decided whether to list or pack for swap. I am in no hurry to part with it so it can wait till next week for me to make up my mind
Gail @songbreeze what a great story.
Amber @amber1986 Yes, it will be Autumn for us next month
Reen @reen I hope you feel better by tomorrow
    Julie

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANICE @sunwoman3663

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... yep, the roast was really good. My sister stopped by for coffee and a chat and I sent here home with a container of roast, potatoes, carrots and strawberry jello with bananas in it.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... so glad the swap worked out well for you and the weather made a turn around.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I have Whitmyer's "Fenton Art Glass: 1907-1939" and "Fenton Art Glass Patterns: 1939-1980" but there are no lamps on page 250 so it must be a different book you are looking for.

  • Good day, glassies. Slept til nearly 11:00 this morning. I'm just into my "winter" mode and there isn't much I can do about it. I'll wake up in March.

@fyrqueen KATIE and @amber1986 AMBER ... I use Suave shampoo...have "Refreshing Waterfall Mist" right now. The only time I used a different shampoo was years ago when Vidal Sasoon had a shampoo that smelled like almonds. I just loved the smell so that was the only reason I bought it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... Congratulations on the new GGS! Welcome to the world, Jack!

HI to DON, GEORGE, IRENE M, and SHELLY!

  • @amber1986 Amber - she is a low shedder, full grown @ 12 pounds. Her bloodlines are loaded with Champions - both parents & 3 of 4 grandparents have championship trophies & ribbons.

@shellyrae37 Shelly - she is great. Already runs to the back door when she needs to do her business. She is crate trained so the camper will be no problem. I am not anticipating any problems except for her exercise @ campground. May get a portable pen to keep her contained when I'm outside.

  • @wattleihavenext JULIE … I just can’t take heat like that. I would have my little window a/c going full blast on one side of me and the fan on the other.

@amber1986 AMBER … there are so many different strains of the flu virus that one strain cannot protect you against a different strain. That’s why alot of people take the flu vaccine but still get the flu…it’s a different strain that the vaccine.\

@fyrqueen KATIE … How did you come to be in Iran? We’re your parents posted there?

HI to GAIL MAC, FRAN2, and NANCY P.

  • Good Morning everyone. We are bracing ourselves for a severe heat wave here. Other States have had it and its moving over to us. YUCK!!!
Amber @amber1986 Glad you got results for the little puppy.
Irene @jmart8248 sorry you have been so ill.
Reen @reen Hope you had a great holiday
    Gail @songbreeze adorable children.
    Julie

  • @reen REEN, @jmart8248 IRENE, and @amber1986 AMBER ... Thanks so much for the compliments for my grandkids...something a grandma never tires of hearing. 😀 I have a California granddaughter due in April. Why can't all my kids and grandkids live close to me!!!!!

  • Good morning/good afternoon glassies. Someone called me on the phone at 10:20 and woke me out of the middle of a wonderful dream. Too groggy to reach for the phone and find out who it was, but I decided I was overdue to start the day so I got up anyway. Sitting here with first cup of coffee still in hand.

@reen REEN ... So very delighted to see you back! I haven't scrolled yet but do hope you had a wonderful holiday. We surely missed you.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... so sorry to hear you and your DH have been so ill. I, too, had my flu shot very early...I believe October. The flu season started here very early. Whenever I've had any kind of shot...flu, cholera, typhoid...if I get a reaction to it...I figure I'm really lucky as the shot had to provide me with some protection and without the shot I probably would have gotten a worse case. Of course, the flu shot can't protect us from all the different strains of flu, but I still think it is grand to have it. We get our flu shots at WalMart.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... The Early American Pattern Glass Society is having their big national convention in Indianapolis in April. If I win the lottery I might go. 🙂 Sure hate to miss it, but I'm just not up to driving again and finding someone to watch all the furkids, etc. http://www.eapgs.org/EAPGS/top/annualconvention.htm#top

@amber1986 AMBER ... so very glad you got good results for the doggy. What kind of dog is it? Don't be too frustrated with animal organizations. If the dog is comfortably sheltered and fed, there is nothing they can do for emotional stress. Just as with children, some parents are too strict...some are too lenient, but that's quite a subjective call. One thought was if the animal orginizations couldn't step in, then perhaps the police could for the noise. However, you seem to have it all worked out and well deserve a big pat on the back.

    HI to DON and GEORGE!

  • @amber1986 Would I do the same thing?? Our neighbors to the north of us have 3 dogs. Usually they are in the house but sometimes they do annoy us when we are trying to use our deck to visit friends . Some time ago the neighbor apologized for any night time annoyance
I told her that there was nothing to be concerned about as we removed out hearing aids when we went to bed. Or for that matter we don't hear them when we are inside.

  • @amber1986 Pleased that you got results on behalf of the small dog. I think that your neighbor was being contrary when she refused to let the dog come visit with you. Nice that you have a doorman who can keep watch to see if the dog is actually walked.

  • Good afternoon everyone. It is a very pleasant day. A little sun and a little cloud with a nice cool breeze blowing.
Amber @amber1986 I hope that all works out well for you, the lady and the pup. Hopefully she will see what a lovely caring lady you are and you can become friends so that she will trust you to having some time with the puppy. My neighbours trust me with their St Bernard. If they are away Mags comes in here with me. We actually made an opening in the side fence so she can come and go whenever she wants.
Katie @fyrqueen congrats on your sales
    Julie

  • Amber @amber1986 The rubber toys one can put food in are great Debbie/Talantd ( she was member from the old Glass Board and I had the pleasure of staying with her on my trip over there in 2007) used one for her little dog.

Marty @sellingthings I have never sold on any of the FB sites . I tell myself one of these days I'll give it a go. BTW congrats on your sale and for being about to get yourself a new furkid
    Julie

  • Very humid here today 95% relative humidity So even though the thermometre is not so high, it is very uncomfortable .You just have to blink the perspiration starts pouring off you
Amber @amber1986 Poor little puppy. Sounds like he is lonely and in need of some attention. Maybe if you approached the girl face to face and nicely told her the dog is crying all the time she is out and maybe even offer to have the little fella come stay a bit with you, so he had some company. You could also maybe offer to take him for a walk once a day, a nice long walk.
Some ppl don't realise that puppies need attention They don't think they are abusing them by not spending a lot of time with them. And of course she would never see this sad lonely side of the puppy cause I am sure when she does get home the pup is all excited to see her, so appears happy and content

  • Good afternoon everyone. Hot outside by now so inside I come.
Amber @amber1986 Oh I would have gladly shared the choccies with you too. The more I share with, the less I have to eat and the quicker they are gone out of my sight LOL. I am a chocoholic and can not have chocolates in the house
Helen @10bbg10 I am glad you are feeling better abd getting back to routine.

re parting with things that belonged to our loved ones. Yes it is very hard As you all know I have been slowly selling off Dh's collections. It does get easier but it still breaks my heart everytime I decide what's
next to go. But I have to be realistic and it is what DH wanted. That was one of the reasons he collected, for our retirement to travel about and sell to supplement the income. So I am doing that dream.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon. Been to Miss P's birthday party and now its time to rest awhile.
Such a busy time of the year being very socvial LOL
Gail @songbreeze my condolences for the loss of your Uncle.

  • Amber @amber1986 I couldn't find what you wanted for Xmas so will just have to give you an I.O.U 😆
MM @maryr sorry to read you have been feeling ucky.I hope you feel better soon. And glad that your vase arrived. Doesn't it tick you off when the buyer doesn't have the courtesy to let you know the parcel arrived OK and they are pleased .
    Thanks Shelly @shellyrae37 & Suzy @suzy
Gail @songbreeze Thanks for sharing the pics of your booth. It looks great!
    Julie

  • Good evening
Amber @amber1986 Mum became too weak and was unable to walk so an ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital over a week ago. All tests show she has no medical problems,. It's old age catching up and her loss of interest in living, since Dad passed away 5 years ago.On Friday she will be transferred to a Respite nursing home, till there is a vacancy down here closer to us.She is in the right place where she can get around the clock care. And medical staff who have the know how , in getting her motivated and moving. I already see an improvemnt in her
    Katie @fyrqueen lovely pics
Tracy @allirish123 All the best with your auction
Nancy @jerseystar27 I am sorry you were feeling grumpy because of your students.I hope you have a smile back on your face by now.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. OMG it was hot, humid and horrible yesterday BUT thank heavens today has cooled down .It is overcast with some drizzling rain. Will be heading off today to go visit Mum in the hospital. A 2½ hour drive one way and with hardly any sleep last night. For some reason I just couldn't settle into a good sleep. I bet I sleep well tonight
Amber @amber1986 I too am going to do the ham rolls Gail @songbreeze posted Have another Xmas Party next weekend and I thought I would do a platter of those to take. re horses doovies LOL we say that down here too.LOL
Don @donscns I think everyone world wide has been devastaed by that event. And I heard on the radio this morning that another shooting has happened over there in USA, this time in a hosptial.
    Julie

  • @amber1986 amber , I think your cruet is Westmoreland English Hobnail. Better do some research to be sure though.
Not doing any better with my back pain. Scheduled for a MRI on Wednesday morning.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Got a late start today and so far not one thing accomplished. Fingers and toes are freezing and here I sit, no makeup, hair not combed, eating chocolate covered cherries and drinking coffee for breakfast at 1:00 pm. This is pitiful. Well, at least my house is clean...

@amber1986 AMBER ... very nice pictures and you may not like to hear it but I think your DH looks very dashing in his hat.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... LOL at the head case.

HI to DON, GEORGE, LIZ, and FENTON!

  • Good Morning everyone. I was up & at 'em early this morning. Went to a deceased estate but was that few minutes too late, arriving as one of the local dealers here was loading his ute.
Amber @amber1986 Glad you are back 🙂 I don't have Windows 8 I have Windows 7, came with my new computer and I am happy with it.
Gail @gailmacphee I would just hold my breath and wait the required amount of time to see if he/she pays. If they don't then I would start a NPB claim. I don't think they can leave you feedback if a NPB claim has been filed against them.
Bob @baabaamason YEAH!!!!! I think I have fixed the problem I have been having viewing your pics which have always been showing absolutely huuuuuuge on my screen . I started to play around with your last image. AS I said before that if I would right click & hold I would get a small thumbnail pic show up on top of the huge pic. Anyway The maginfying icon was of no use, it just made it even bigger. But just now I notice a little magnifying glass icon in the right hand corner of the URL section, where there is usually a star icon to bookmark the webpage. I clicked on the magnifying icon and VOILA your pics are normal. HAPPY DAYS!!!
    Julie

  • Amber @amber1986 thanks for the hugs . (((hugs))) back atcha

grrrr I am dealing with a not so nice buyer. She is accusing me of deliberately over charging her postage cost, which I never. I have even sent her a photocopy of the receipt which she is now questioning that the receipt is actually for her item, even though it has her postcode plain & clear. Anyway I told her I was not likely to go jeopardize my good honest selling reputation for $3.20 and I refunded her . I wouldn't mind so much about the whole thing but right from the get go she was very accusing, insinuating I am dishonest . She's now on my blocked bidders list LOL I don't need these kinda negative ppl in my life. I always immediately think, when they are like this, that what they are accusing ppl of, this is THEIR true self. This is their way of thinking because this is how they are.
    Julie

  • @amber1986 Oh Amber, no apology necessary silly girl, we ALL make typos! Well all except myself, oh and Gail, the Chief of the Spelling Police...I like to think of myself as her deputy...lol. You should be laughing because I WAS laughing...I thought it was funny! The english language is always interesting...drop a letter from a word and it gives it a whole different meaning...lol. You know most of us here have a very good sense of humor, and I'm sure thought it funny too. I don't think you have a mean bone in your body my dear, so I know you would never intentionally say anything in that spirit...so smile 'cause you made me smile earlier! 🙂

  • @amber1986 Amber, it's a bread stuffing (stale bread, sauteed onions, seasoning, eggs to hold it together) with chestnuts added. Used to be a whole production when my dad roasted & peeled the chestnuts. Then my dad developed a technique for doing six at a time in the microwave. For the past two years, my mom bought them pre-cooked (I think she buys them frozen).

  • Good Morning everyone. Received a bit of rain over night. That should at least settle the dust & pollen for a bit.
Amber @amber1986 thanks for my first giggle of the day. Can just imagine how funny your friend Flipper must have been LOL
Oh Marty @sellingthings how very very sad that you had to put up with all that Some ppls behaviour is just beyond beleif
    Julie

  • Amber @amber1986 with so many homes these days with their own pools, it is very important to have the young ones taught to swim at an early age. It is so sad to hear of little ones drowning in backyard pool
Nancy @jerseystar27 don't feel guilty . Enjoy that little get away and relax. YOur son i an adult now so I am sure he can and will cope very well with whatever is thrown at him
Julie...I hear Miss P stirring from her nap, so will say hooroo for now

  • Good Morning everyone Another Hot one here for us It's uppose to reach 35Celisus.
Its Melbourne Cup Day So I'll get do-de-da-ed up and go to a club with some girl friends for a few drinks, a bit of a flutter on some of the races and watch the main race on the big screen. I have no idea what horses are racing, so have no idea which horse I will back LOL.I'll do my usual, eeny meeny miney mo and pick the horse that comes last LOL
Amber @amber1986 LOL this house gets very noisey when Miss P is here LOL and I'll make note not to let her drop that finger when trying to copy Grandma doing the peace signs LOL
Reen @reen I am glad you have something fun to look forward to after Dianes funeral. (((hugs))))
IreneM @jmart8248 It's always nice to catch up with family

  • Good Morning everyone.
Amber @amber1986 Yes Miss P & I have lots of fun together. I always have music going here, so we sing and dance around the place like idiots LOL Oh and I have taught her some knew phrases..so cute one being "Peace man" while doing the peace signs with her fingers LOL
Helen @10bbg10 I looked again at Gails RL and I still do not get what you get. Maybe it is like Don says a tracking thingame bob that you need to clean out of your computer.
Marty @sellingthings WTG on your first sale on RL 🙂
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. Sure enjoyed that extra hour of sleep. Cold morning, but sun is shining and we will be in for a lovely day in the 60s.

@amber1986 AMBER ... Here is my shop http://www.rubylane.com/shop/gailsglassgalleryandtiques if the slideshow feature is on and bothers you, look right above the main picture on the right hand side. You will see a little quotation mark. Hover over it and you can click and stop it...it will turn into an arrow. Then if you want it to go back to the slide show, hover over the arrow and change it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... So odd. If I click on one of my items, the only thing I see at the bottom of my page is "Other items from Gail's Glass Gallery and Tiques you may be interested in:" with pictures of my items. I sure don't like the idea of something linking to similar eBay auctions. Puzzlement....

HI to SUZY, REEN, GAIL MAC, FRAN2, & DON!

  • Hello all!

Congrats to you Gail @songbreeze on your first sale on RL! Way to go!

@amber1986 Amber...so very glad to hear that you came out of that mess fairly unscathed...so glad you decided to evacuate! And you are sure right about Mother Nature!

@gailmacphee Gail, I collect cranberry crackle, which doesn't mean I know much about it, except that I love it! I haven't seen too many pieces with the Blue Del label still on it, but have heard of the maker, and have a decanter similar to that one. The stopper doesn't look like the original to me...but again, what do I know?!...lol. If I were you, I would sell the tumblers together, as one has the label, and assures the maker. You may want to sell the decanter with the cordials, or sometimes it's better separately, as someone may just need the decanter OR the cordials. Perhaps even selling the cordials in sets of 4? Sorry I couldn't help much, but thanks for sharing is as I always enjoy seeing cranberry crackle!

  • Good Afternoon everyone. I have Miss P for the day, I think Mummy & Daddy needed a break 😉
Gail @songbreeze Congrats on such an early sale WTG!!
Helen @10bbg10 I don't see any pop ups on Gails RL site
Shelly @shellyrae37 Thanks for updating us about Amber
Amber @amber1986 Glad you are safe
Reen @reen more (((hugs))) for you. Time will heal
    Julie

  • Oh my word, what a beautiful day it has been today. 65° and just perfect. I headed out and visited several surrounding towns and stopped at seven different malls/flea markets. Spent the entire day on the road and it was just lovely.

@mary cxgirl MARY ... thanks for the encouragement on my RL store. It's a bit more convaluted in the selling what with purchase orders etc. but well worth it not to have to jack my prices up to include "free" shipping. And not only not having to pay FVF on the item, but not having to pay it on the shipping too!

@10bbg10 HELEN ... hmmmmm, I don't know what pop-ups you were seeing on that site. I don't like pop-ups either.

@reen REEN .... teehee, yes I've been to a ton of places, is it any wonder I'm tired all the time? Still recuperating from all the travel... 🙂

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... thanks so much for letting us know that AMBER is ok. I only list items I have right here in the house as when I go to write the descriptions I have to have the item in my hand to take the measurements and check for any flaws. Now my fear is just the reverse....forget I have it listed and take it to one of the malls!. 😮

@amber1986 AMBER ... well, as I scroll up the board, I see your post. So very glad that power is back up and you are well.

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... so sorry that I'm just no help on art glass and crackle glass. Hopefully someone will show up soon who can help. Lovely pieces.

HI to DON, KATIE, GEORGE, MARTY, and IRENE M.

  • Good evening Glass Board Friends,
Can't say that I have accomplished a lot today. But not a total loss as I did write a couple of ads. Had hoped to do pictures but couldn't catch a time when there was enough light.
@fyrqueen Katie --- I've been thinning out my Christmas decorations, too. Have a big box full of stuff to send to a DGD when there is passing. Eldest DD took some, too.I have a lot of metallic gold ornaments that I used on the 50th anniversary. Haven't convinced anybody to take those.
@shellyrae37 I did so understand your comment to Gail " Hope you have a running inventory so you can remember where everything is at and do not sell something you have in one of your other locations. Thats what I would probably do." I was so afraid that I would do just that.
@amber1986 Amber so glad to know that you and yours are safe.

  • @amber1986 Amber - swan's listing expired on eBay ! I'm moving the listing to RL right now.

  • @amber1986 Amber - swan has green veins running throughout but is basically blue. A lot depends on which way you view it !

  • Good Morning everyone. Another over 30°C ahead for us.Dry dusty wind too.We need some good rain to settle the dust and clean the air.
Marson @panishklo Glad you enjoyed the tim tam cake LOL
    Amber @amber1986 continued (((hugs)))
Gail @songbreeze I'm not happy about our temps either atm LOL It is suppose to be Spring with temps below 30°C My perfect weather is around about 25°C
Shelly @shellyrae37 you can have all the warm air here if you want LOL Wished I could send it. @ 7a.m it was already 28°C and that was right on the coast.God knows what it was here.

For those in the line of the earthquake. I hope you all stay safe , damage free & the aftershocks are mild
    Julie

  • Good evening, glassies. Had a wonderful time at the Glass Meeting. Action packed full 15 hour days! And talking glass glass glass ... EAPG specifically. Lovely people to meet and just so very very glad I went. I broke the bank though buying stuff. 🙂 I actually behaved myself admirally even if I did "tart" early. 😆

Love the new phone, but lots to learn on it yet. So very glad I had it with me and used it to look up stuff and help ID things all the time. It was great.

@donscns DON ... Thank you ever so much for posting the coffee. Really appreciate how you always help out. Thanks!

@amber1986 AMBER ... I am so terribly sorry to hear of your dear brother's passing. You are certainly in my heart and prayers. (((((Hugs)))))

  • @amber1986 Amber, sending gentle {{{hugs}}} and condolences to you and your family.

  • Good Morning everyone. Temps to reach 35 Celsius (its not even summer yet 🙁 so I am wondering how hot our summer will be) and unpleasantly windy. On the upside it was a DDG morning at the pool and a wonderful walk.
I have scrolled the board and enjoyed the beautiful glass you all found. I must get some pics of the cocktail glasses I purchased on the weekend. Amber with uranium foot. Now all I need is to find the pitcher
Amber @amber1986 The swap meets I do work like any market or Trash & Treasure. Stall holders set up and buyers come to buy. Most here are run by Vintage auto clubs and lots of stalls are auto related. But usually the ppl interested in this are also into Antiques and collectables. so there are those type of stalls (me) as well. Though there are some Swapmeets where no bric a brac is allowed. It is to be strictly car or bike related, so needless to say I don't do those. Also our swapmeets are an annual event, not a weekly or monthly event. Hence me travelling all over the place doing a different swap in a different town each time.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Glad you have heat Though the thought of a heater on a day like today here, is not so good LOL
Gail @songbreeze The time will fly by I am sure, November will be here and I will be at a swap. The break will give me time to do other things over the weekends and do some socialising. I do love doing the swaps but I also love getting out with friends listening to a band and having a few drinks or just getting away and camping, doing nothing. Variety is the spice of life, they tell me LOL
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. Another pretty autumn day.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... I can imagine it being hard to wait til November for your next swap meet. Sometimes I really try hard not to go out treasure hunting ...and I can't do it for long. It's just TOOOOOO MUCH FUN!

@amber1986 AMBER ... You just have to have some good virus protection program and even then, you have to stay vigilant, as a lot of new viruses are one step ahead of the virus programs. You can't stay naive on computer scams. You really have to educate yourself to the various fake emails or even the various "advertising" boxes that want you to click on them when you are on the internet. Be cautious of any email that comes from a friend that has no subject line or nothing more than "Re" in the subject line. Maybe google computer scams or email scams and find out about different ones to be on the look-out for.

@donscns DON ... SOrry you missed the blue custard, but the SNIPE is everything! 😀

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... oh my word, Shelly, the coffee drinkers are very definitely talking about GLASS! 😆

    HI to LIZ and GEORGE!

  • Good Morning everyone. Miss P is napping so I can now play on the computer for a little while
Amber @amber1986 thanks for the update on Shelly
BTW it does sound like your friend has a virus on his computer. Do a complete scan on your computer to make sure yours is clean.
Gail @songbreeze yep me too. I have given up trying to figure out the behaviour of the computer LOL they just have a mind of their own LOL

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Lovely fall afternoon, cool and brisk.

@amber1986 AMBER ... Thanks so much for asking about my son and his family. They are finally settled into their new house. Everything is SO much better now. Granted the mattresses set on the floor for now and it will take time to get furniture replaced, but the main thing is he is now only 15 minutes from his work. Also, the teenage son can take the school bus to and from work. Before my DS had to get up at 5:30 in the morning to drive DGS to school and work was an hour or more drive.

@donscns DON ... scrolling up the board and assume somebody will ID your tray. If not, I know it's in one of my Milk Glass books and will check.

Went to an auction last night and too tired to unload the car. Actually didn't buy all that much--3 bags--but just too lazy. Need to go unload it and surf the net to see if I overspent, mis-ID'd, or basically just had a "tuition-fest" for the evening. 😀

HI to KATIE, BILL, GEORGE, and MARSON.

  • Good Morning everyone. Beautiful Spring weather continues down here 🙂
Amber @amber1986 I have only had one dance lesson so far and it was fun, A laugh a minute. I will be back again next week, to see if I can improve , surely I couldn't get any worse LOL

((((hugs)))) to all that need them. Life can really get us down at times. As dear sweet Marypat would say "This too shall pass"

    Julie

  • Just stopping in front of the computer for a bit of a rest and while doing so decided to have a look around for Gail’s @songbreeze ”celery”. I didn’t find anything but I did find a bowl I am sure that Amber @amber1986 asked about some weeks back. Is this your bowl Amber?
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mikasa-Rosella-Large-Hostess-Bowl-Schale-Bowl-Jatte-Walther-Glas-/360460709893

  • Good Morning everyone. been busy this morning doing activities with my darling Little Miss P 🙂
Gail @songbreeze YEAHHH!!!!! WTG for your son. I am so pleased for him and his family. 🙂
Marson @panishklo Glad you received some rain.we had a little bit the other night but not enough. We're so in need of some good rain for a few days, The pollen floating around down here atm is not good and a good few days soaking would certainly settle that down some....arrrchooo!!
Amber @amber1986 I hope your brother continues to improve
    Julie

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... so very sorry to hear of your brother's illness. Will certainly keep him in my prayers that he continues to improve.

  • Good Morning everyone Spring continues 🙂
Amber @amber1986 A few years back now we had a fad of ppl doing much the same with odd saucers and plates. Another was getting the wire plate racks so you can hang them on a wall. I had a girlfriend do a feature wall with lots of old plates that were damaged. It looked great in her Victorian era home.
NancyP @jerseystar and Lainey @favoritegram I hope you and anyone else, have a wonderful celebration!
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. Another cool pleasant morning to wake up to. Lovin' it.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like a perfect weekend, daytime pleasant and evening with a chill and a campfire, family, and friends. Perfect1

@amber1986 AMBER ... sounds like a cute idea for a frame.

    @10bbg10 HELEN ... good luck on finding a cover-up for your mannequin's backside! 😀

  • Good morning Glass Friends,
Catching up a little on book database . Listed 4-5 books. After telling @amber1986
amber that I sell very little fiction my last 4 sales have been fiction. Whatsup???
Welcome back Julie @wattleihavenext --- I think I was expecting you to be away longer. Glad you had a nice weekend vacation.
I'm planning on hitting the GW 99 cent Sunday sales. I need a pair of khaki shorts to cover my hollow back male mannequin' s lower parts. LOL

  • LOL @ Amber @amber1986 DDG = Drop Dead Gorgeous. And you are right there, not need to tell me to kick up my heels and have a good time LOL I always try top make the most of everything.
Now I am really going now
JUlie...waving hooroo as I walk out the door

  • Amber @amber1986 it is a DDG spot. Actually all our coastline all the way on the East Coast is DDG. Our beaches rate very highly in the world.
Where I am going is only 2 hours north of me and where I spent a lot of time as a child during holidays because my Grandfather lived up there with his property right on one of the Lakes. It was not populated back then and only a few dirt roads to get to anywhere. My Mum lives near there now too so I'll be calling in to visit her on the way.
Helen @10bbg10 re Koala Bear. These days with all the polically correct mumbo jumbo we are not allowed to call them bears anymore, because they are not Bears LOL But for me old habits die hard and I find myself calling them Koala Bears often, to be corrected by someone LOL
    Julie saying Hooroo

  • @wattleihavenext & @amber1986 Really got a laugh about the stoned koala bears. Guess ' as disagreeble as a just awakened koala bear ' would be a fitting saying.

  • Good Morning everyone. I am heading off up the coast for a few days just to relax and take it easy
Amber @amber1986 Well they say the Koala is always stoned from eating all those eucalyptus leaves thats why they appear docile LOL They are a nocturnal animal & sleep up to 19 hours per day.So when us humans spot them up in the trees they would be sleeping.( probably with a hangover LOL) But they don't take too kindly to be disturbed and they have extremely sharp claws they use for climbing trees. Not something you want taking swipes at you.
Helen @10bbg10 I hope you are all 100% better now after your dental work.
Katie @fyrqueen I am glad your friend is not in any pain
Bob @baabaamason Good Luck at the auction I hope you find some fabulous glass treasures 🙂
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone.Another perfect Spring day 🙂
Amber @amber1986 yep I have seen Koalas up close and personal. Just last weekend at the Swap meet there was a koala up a tree. As for nursing one from the wild, I don't think so, they'd scratch you to bits LOL But I have nursed one at the zoo.It was a young one and used to being handled by humans.
Bob @baabaamason Looks like a great auction.

  • Good evening, glassies. Home from Church and just looking out my window and enjoying a lovely view. Mild evening with a delightful breeze. Cold front will be moving in and looks like all that difficult summer heat is at an end.

@amber1986 AMBER ... I've seen a Koala up close, but unless it is dead and stuffed, they are far from cuddly. 🙂 They are mean little critters.

    @fyrqueen KATIE ... the doggy's hair-cut looks grand!

@reen REEN ... hope you have a wonderful time in Philly.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... lol, I knew that was just a typo. I don't usually bother with correcting my typos because I figure people know what I'm talking about...then again, half the time I don't even see them!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I'm jealous as we never have such nice auctions. 🙁

HI to MARTY, DON, IRENE M, GEORGE, CARL, SUZY, & BILL

  • Good morning, glassies. Busy getting stuff ready to take to the Ketchum Mall this afternoon. Taking a coffee break for now.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … sorry that little Miss P is under the weather. Have you tried ear muffs for both of you? At the first sign of winter I put mine on and they don’t come off til Spring. Might help with all the wind.

@amber1986 AMBER … very pretty bowl. I don’t know who made it but it looks like a lovely contemporary Mikasa piece.

@donscns DON … eBay would like the return policy be for any reason or even for no reason…no questions asked. Their new automated return policy (if a Seller chooses to ”opt in”) is like that. Personally, I’d block anyone who tried to return something because the color was different than they thought. When I have a piece where color might be misconstrued, I always place a crayon with the color name label showing and say their monitor should match the crayon. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110936263748&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Granted most people don’t have a box a colors laying around, but I still think one’s monitor shouldn’t be too far off. Rim chip that I had missed would horrify me and I’d gladly give a partial refund if it were part of a set. If the color were OK for you, I’m sure you would have been satisfied with a partial refund. If this is a pitcher/tumbler set, the cost of return shipping also presents a headache for either the Buyer or the Seller. When all’s said and done, it’s not an easy choice to make as to what to do. It’s a hassle to fight for return, but at the same time, you don’t want to keep something that is going to make your jaw tighten up every time you walk past it. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

@sellingthings MARTY…. I can understand the first part of your return policy but starting with PLEASE NOTE, well, that would turn me right off and I’d hit the back button.

  • @amber1986 amber, Yes, we are book sellers. Sold books online before eBay was around. We have over 14,000 books on our database. We sell through Amazon, abebooks, alibris and a couple of other services. We seldom buy or even list fiction books except for those that I want to read. As far as I know DH has never read a lot fiction.
And if you are using Tinypic for preparing your pictures the words needed to complete the request are there in that ad that pops up. You may have to click through the ad to find them though. The ads don't make it easy for us but it perhaps keeps Tinypic free for us to use.

  • @amber1986 & @wattleihavenext Julie, I have trouble staying asleep in the morning. Just this morning I awakened and thought it was 8:00 a.m. Kept telling myself that we had best getting moving as we had both eBay orders and books to ship and it was the Saturday before Labor Day. Looked at the clock again and it was only 6:00 a.m. There was no way that I was going to get DH moving at 6:00 a.m. Grabbed my book for a bit of a read then turned over for another nap.

  • Good Morning everyone
Amber @amber1986 No I never had any intentions of buying that lamp.It was just that it was on the EBay Pulse List (the most watched items in a catagory) along with the lamp I was selling
BTW I am the same as you.I find it very hard to sleep in. My idea of a sleep in, is staying in bed till 7a.m LOL
Marson @panishklo Thanks for the truffles. I'll save mine for morning tea and have it with my cappucinno 🙂 Its the weekend I allow myself to indulge on weekends LOL
    NancyP @jerseystar27 Enjoy the concert!!
Helen @10bbg10 Funny you should mention the dust issue in pics LOL Just yesterday I took pics of an item and when editing them I could see all the dust on it. I decided I would just add a little blarb about me making sure it will be removed from the item before I ship.I just wasn't in the mood to do them all over again.

  • Good morning, glassies. We are getting rain from parts of Isaac and for us here in NE Oklahoma, it is truly a blessing for our parched land.

@amber1986 AMBER ... wishing you a very enjoyable holiday weekend.

Anyone else have holiday plans? Will just be a quiet weekend here. Will just relax and rest up.

My son called last night. So very busy right now, as he is staying in one area but having to make a long commute to take his son to a completely different area for school and then yet another area for work...and then the reverse in the afternoon. Spending a considerable amount of time on the road and he sounded very tired. The very GOOD news is that they hopefully will be able to settle on their new house around September 18....so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope to get alot more work done at home today. Packing up stuff to take to the malls as I have to make my rounds during this coming week.

Good morning to DON and GEORGE.

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... hey, super video, I'll sure try that next time I need the egg separated.

@bethofvt BETH ... oh, Seamus is just precious!

Well, I just tried posting my very first video on YouTube... hope this works...

  • Good morning, glassies.ra4qewwwsZGBBBBBBBBBBBBBBVvvvvvvvvvvv Well, the last part of that greeting was written by Blue Moon.......

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... had not heard of using super glue. Haven't had a paper cut in years...and hope not to have any in the future. Use to get them on the side of my lip from licking envelopes. ouchie!

@amber1986 AMBER ... thanks for asking about my son. Actually, I'm expecting to hear from him soon with an update.

HI to JULIE, DON, HELEN, GEORGE, SHELLY, & MARTY

  • Good Morning everyone. Beautiful Spring like weather continues here 🙂 Miss P having her morning nap so Grandma can now catch up on the computer
Don @donscns I am glad the seller at least refunded you but how rude not to communicate with you.How much does it take to send an email of apology and stating you will get a refund.
Amber @amber1986 I dont live close enough to the ocean to actually hear it from here. I am just shy of 50klms inland But close enough that I can get there and enjoy without too much fuss.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Nope not an IPad. I bought a Samsung Tablet. It runs on Android and is smaller then an IPad.Much better for me to carry around in my handbag 🙂 I love it so far, though I am not using it all the time.
Bear @jpthings Keep buying those lottery tickets 🙂
Beth @bethofvt I don't mind almond milk either and on the odd occassion I make my own. I find some of the store bought ones are full of sugar. But most times I just have skim milk which I like too.

  • Hi All,

Hope all is well with everyone and hopefully we don't have any glassies in the path of Hurricane Issac.

@wattleihavenext - Julie one of my goals if I should be blessed to win the big one in the lottery is to visit your wonderful Ocean Pools(warmer weather though(G)). And the walk sounds absolutely beautiful.

@donscns - Why would a seller think that it would go away. Glad you got your money back.

@amber1986 - if you know the name of your file you can always do a search of it on your computer. I never have used any of the programs that came with my camera. I just transfer them manually to my computer via explore.

@sellingthings - You should give simply smart milk a try, no fat but doesn't taste like water. Worth the price, plus it stores for a month if you don't open it. I also write Hood every so often asking for coupons. I also use to consume a lot of chocolate and soda, but now I have in moderation. Been on a lifestyle change to drop some weight, and I will never give up my Oreos & Milk before bed. One thing that opened up my eyes was using an online site called calorie count. I never realized how much sodium I was taking in and I have never added salt to things.

    Bear 🙂

  • Good Morning everyone. DDG outside. Love this time of year when it is going from Winter to Spring. It's still chilly in the mornings but the sun shines, skies are clear and its just perfect for being outdoors soaking up the warmth of the sun.
I am Babysitting today and while Miss P is having her morning nap I will scroll the board
Amber @amber1986 No I have never found those parks. But in reality I suppose I have my own free excerise eqipment right here where I live. The Ocean Pool is free and it costs nothing to walk along the foreshore, out onto the breakwall and past the light house 🙂

  • @amber1986 AMBER ... thanks for the link. I'll surely enjoying reading it.

@reen REEN ... oh good, I see BOB @glassusa ID'd your cake plate. I hadn't a clue. That's a pattern I'm going to have to see if I can find more in my books. I see now the blue covered compote. I just completely skipped over that post. It is DAISY AND BUTTON by L.E. Smith, the #4694 Candy Box in Colonial Blue, ca. 1963-1983.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... We need FRAN/dbfrogs to show up. My first thought when I saw your relish was that it looked like Candlewick, but I really don't know if they ever did ruby-staining or not.

  • @amber1986 Amber, we get up to CT periodically, our nephew lives in Stamford.

@songbreeze Gail, did I mention that my DD has signed a contract for a condominium townhouse in Asburn, VA? Construction is supposed to be completed in October. I may be spending a lot of Oct. & Nov. down there helping to pack and unpack.

  • @songbreeze Gail, be sure and let me know when you head east.

@amber1986 Amber, do you live near NYC? I'm in northeastern NJ near NYC.

  • Good Morning everyone. Beautiful sunny winters morning here. I have a little spare time for quick scroll before I leave for SIster's MIL's funeral today.
amber @amber1986 Here is a good conversion chart so you convert centimetres to inches

    Happy Birthday JimL @dorbitz

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Been up and at it early and already to the Post Office, a fizzled yard sale, and back home again. Ready to start taking more pictures and listing.

@favoritegram LAINEY ... Why don't you send a pic to Replacements and ask them? I keep thinking Fostoria, but could find nothing in that clear/amber or with that cut. I focused for some time on #5082 with no luck and finally looked through #660. I really think it could possibly be #660 but still couldn't find anything. Of course, I could be completely off and just have tunnel vision for Fostoria. Sorry, I couldn't be of anymore help.

@amber1986 AMBER ... hope all goes well on your trip. I know your Uncle will surely appreciate your support.

@donscns DON ... hope the knee brace is continuing to give you improvement.

@gailmacphee GAIL ... I've had that difference in eBay/PayPal at least a half a dozen times. Irritating. I just had to email the Buyer, let them know the discrepancy, and wait for them to notify me which address it should be sent to.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... have fun on your weekend get-a-way!

HI to KATIE, HELEN, MARTY & GEORGE!
