• @wjweese Wendy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I'm sure you've been very busy finishing Christmas presents. I hope all is well and that you had a great day.

  • Good Morning Everyone. Our perfect winter weather continues. Chilly mornngs but DDG warm sunny days. That is suppose to change for the weekend (typical LOL)
It was DD's birthday yesterday, so I spent it all day preparing a feast for her.I'll be living on leftovers for a few days LOL But it was all extremely yummy and very healthy food. I got the thumbs up from my Grand daughter with my home made Magical chocolate "icecream" Firsdttime I have made it.Not one bit of cream or dairy in it.I didn't tell her it was made on sweet potato.
Carl @carma I hope your DW gets many well deserved sleepins and gets to relax and "detox" from the schooling situations
Gail @songbreeze Enjoy your busy day
    Wendy @wjweese ***waving*** back atcha

  • @wjweese Wendy, so good to hear from you!! Glad to hear everyone is reasonably healed, sorry to hear about your spine and the ice packs.

  • Good morning everyone. Very hot and steamy down here. Boot camp was a bit of a struggle this morning in such humidity. With the predicted storms yesterday, you could feel the build up but they went right around me. Other areas got hit hard.
I had big plans of working in the yard this morning after Boot camp. Called into hardware on my way home and bought all the stuff I needed. But I have run out of steam now and lost all enthusiasm LOL. The grass is so very long and its going to be a hard slog pushing the mower through it as it is.Do I dare put it off another day??? I'll have to think about it
Wendy @wjweese I'm glad you both got a clean bill of health 🙂
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. Back home from the markets.Weather co operated but by geeze it was hot and humid, The number of stall holders were down. Which is what I had expected for the Public Holiday falling on a Tuesday. It started out slow this morning and not many shoppers about but it did pick mid morning and turned out to be a reasonably good day. And of course there was the socialising yesterday arvo and evening with other stallholders . This being the first one since last year. Most of us haven't done a market or swap meet since October, so it was good catching up with them all.
Wendy @wjweese sorry to hear of all your woes. Glad that they are now behind out and things are improving. Take Care.

  • @wjweese Wendy -- oh my goodness, what you and your DH have been through!!! I am so glad he's okay and that you're starting to feel better too. Missed seeing you here, hope now that things are settling down you'll be around more often.

We survived the snow -- got around 2 feet in our part of NJ. DS did most of the shoveling, DH did some. DS was very nice and completely cleared my car off. As his car normally lives on the street in front of our house, he eventually went out yesterday afternoon and cleared a space for his car. Driving into town this morning was a mess. They were clearing the parking spaces along the sides of one of the main streets, which slowed traffic. The municipal lot where I usually park was closed off while they cleared it. I wound up parking several blocks from my destination (and couldn't get close enough to the parking meter to feed it) and walked. Not all of the stores had shoveled their parts of the sidewalks yet so I had to make it through 2 to 3 foot drifts in several places. By the time I got to my yoga class, I was more than warmed up.

  • @wjweese Wendy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Wishing you a wonderful day followed by a really good year!!

  • Good Morning everyone, bright and sunny down here. Temps are warming up again.
Started my Monday morning off with a bootcamp session down by the river. Now I'm getting ready to meet up with a friend for breakfast.

Carl @carma You'd think with that kind of money and value, they could have flown over here and pick it up 🙂
Don @donscns it could be the same dish, The one I showed was located in Australia this one is located in USA
Wendy @wjweese Yes I thought they could have done a better job with the description LOL

  • @wjweese Wendy, welcome back!! So glad you got your computer tamed. The blanket is lovely (and I am a purple person!) Was just bemoaning to George that this is the first time in five years that DH and I won't be visiting Seattle in November. He had too many conferences filing up the weekends (he did offer me the weekend before Thanksgiving -- told him I'd be otherwise occupied) plus we did spend a bunch of our travel budget on the trip to Israel. Who knows -- maybe we'll find a time in the spring to visit.

  • Good morning everyone. The sun is shining, so hopefully all the rain has gone.. for awhile at least.
Don @donscns Fingers crossed your bowls arrive safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
That would be fun watching those little ones learning and experiencing the butterflies and catapillars. Their enthusiam is just wonderful at that age when they are learning.

Reen @reen Wendy @wjweese may be right, time for a new Estate Agent. My cousin had their porperty on the market forever. They discovered the Agent wasn't doing anything to promote it so they switched and not long after that they had a sale.

Shelly @shellyrae37 I am still waiting confirmation from everyone to see if the reunion will go ahead today. We have tiny little new borns and elderly (89 is the eldest) The cold and damp under foot just may not be ideal for them. If this is the case then we will reschedule for a few weeks time. No one really want to be indoors at a club we like to be outdoors in the lovely park where there is play equipment and the little ones can run around as much as they want, making as much noise as they want, screaming and laugh with out a care in the world. Our family does NOISE really well LOL
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone,Yesterday I think we had all seasons in a day. This morning I have woken to cold and rain. A good day to stay indoors and read or play on the computer.
Carl @carma I don't think any of the old fastfoods taste the same as they use to. I had a Big Mac a few weeks ago. Been a long time since I had one of those. YUCK all I could taste in the bread roll was sugar. Too sweet for my likings. They have taken out the salts etc to appear to be healthy but then bulk up with sugar for tatse.
I remember our TV had a huge antenna cemented into the ground at the side of the house. It went way up to the sky like the Eiffel Tower (mind you I was a little girl LOL) There was a cable that went from the TV out the window to the antenna.
Shelly @shellyrae37 this weekend I will be staying put. We do have our family reunion on Sunday in the park. This afternoon I might go visit some friends and have a couple of beers with them. But that's about all. No gallivanting around the countryside. LOL
I did see it was wyogems birthday but I checked it out and they have not been active here for 2 years, so I thought not much use wishing some a happy birthday if they aren't here 🙂
Wendy @wjweese you are so organised for Xmas. I have a slight start. My grand childrens day care run a fund raiser this time of year. They have a catalogue for toys and educational toys etc where they get a certain percentage of sales. So I have ordered some things for the grandkids.
Don @donscns I hope you have your computer up and running soon.
    Julie

  • Sun is shining, skies are clear so it will be a glorious day outside.
Don @donscns I LOVE that set. Thanks for sharing
Wendy @wjweese It looks like my lawn mower and whipper snipper along with the 5 litre fuel tin has been stolen. I have a sneaking suspicion who the culprits are but can't prove it. Let's say a lot in the family have drug problems and would steal the eye out of a needle. They must be very desperate for money. The lawn mower and the whipper snipper have next to no resale value. They'd be luck to get $50 for the both. I even doubt they'd get that much. You can buy them cheap, brand new here at a store called Bunnings. Thats where mine came from . I have had the whipper snipper probably 10 yrs or so. Cost $99. The lawn mower I've had for about 7 yrs , cost $199. Cheap and what I'd call through away equipment. I was getting ready to buy replacements very soon. So, even though I am extremely annoyed that some junkie has decided they would help themselves to what isn't theirs, They have done me a bit of a favour. I now don't have to worry about what I was going to do with them, when I bought the replacements

  • Good Morning everyone, sunny but a little chilly .
Carl @carma don't you just love progress?.. NOT Same things happening down here too
Shelly I did have a great night and everything went well. I probably had about 50 guests give or take a few. Mother Nature co operated, plenty of sunshine on Saturday to get the yard all set up for the night. Chilly night but everyone kept warm sitting around the firepits or outdoor heater. Plus everyone came well rugged up.
Don @donscns I hope Laura has a speedy recovery
Reen @reen hope all went well for your Open House
Wendy @wjweese I hope you continue to mend after your fall.

  • Good Morning everyone. we have been enjoying cold mornings but lovely sunny days the past few days. Good for getting the grounds dry after the massive rain/floods and storms we had. My back yard was almost dry enough so I could get the mower through it. But today it is drizzling with rain so there goes my plans on getting the yard mowed tomorrow or Monday.
Reen @reen I am so glad you found a soap that you're not allergic to. Skin allergies are such a PITA
Wendy @wjweese Yes it was a big job for me to tackle on my own. Thank goodness my cousin stepped in to help or I'd still be going. I now have the tree almost all cleaned up. I cut up some of it to use in my little fire pit I have in my back yard. I am looking forward to sitting around that one cold night enjoying a few beverages with some friends. The rest my cousin took away. The uprooted stump still remains but I am thinking about using that as a pedestal for an outdoor table. Sister has a tempered glass top she is going to give me. Should look good, I hope, if I can do it right.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I was in bed early. I had a good nights sleep and Awake nice and early this morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Sister and I headed off to a few garage sales and then out for breakfast.Tonight my DD is taking me out to a Theatre/Restaurant to see Pearl... The Janis Joplin Story. It was part of my Mothers day present 🙂 Looking forward to that
Carl @carma Glad no one was injured in the fire
    Julie

  • @songbreeze Gail, so happy to hear your wonderful news!! And glad your daughter is there with you to help celebrate!!

@wjweese Wendy, that afghan is beautiful!! I can see why it took a lot of planning and working. Lucky recipients!!

  • Good evening everyone. It's been a long day babysitting the grandkids. And today Miss P was not in the best of moods LOL Don't you just love a 4 yr old with an attitude LOL
Nancy @jerseystar27 How great would that have been to have you and DH join me kayaking the river.
    😆 @ "w/ Oriental Boat" 😆
Wendy @wjweese I love those kind of spontaneous get a ways. Dh and I would often do that. Many a time we have been driving out of the driveway still deciding in which direction to head

Irene and Katie I hope all goes well for your Dh's

  • @wjweese Wendy -- that is beautiful!! Your grandson will be thrilled.

  • Good Morning everyone Cooler temps today and by the look of the sky we will get some rain.
Yesterday was so hot but later in the afternoon a cool change came through. I was at a friends house. We were sitting under their huge Camphor Laurel tree enjoying a nice cold beer. The wind was very hot at first but then it became still, skies became very hazey and then the westerly wind turned into a nice cool southerly....heavenly 🙂
Been shopping with my sister today at the local Harvest Markets. Nice fresh organic and mostly locally grown(or at least Australian grown) fruit , veg and meat. And I just discovered a local milk that is to die for. I first tried it at a new local coffee shop You can really taste the difference. Saw a stall today that was selling it. had to get me a bottle (yep a bottle, a real glass bottle. Not cardboard or plastic 🙂 )
Gail @songbreeze I am so glad you enjoyed your day. Its the little things that make it so. SO many ppl get behind the oncology units and do a lot to make your time there as enjoyable as possible. It was the same here And as strange as it sounds DH and I enjoyed going because everyone around you were all positive and so happy go lucky. A great atmosphere to be in
Sharon @sfinds nothing beats fresh caught fish.As a child that's the only fish I ever ate. Straight from the lake or ocean cooked and onto the plate. At one stage in my life I would not eat or buy any fish. It just didn't have the same taste and I couldn't enjoy it. Taste buds have now adjusted LOL
Irene @jmart8248 Glad you enjoyed your birthday
Wendy @wjweese and Reen @reen good to see you are on the mend. Take things easy though
Julie...off to check out Facebook now 😀

  • Good Morning to you all. still very humid here. Even though the temps are dropping the humidity makes it feel worse.

Alicia @4931nextdoor All painting leads me into, is a big mess. I am the worlds worst with paint. I seem to get it everywhere except where it is to go LOL If I attempted to paint the front door, I would have paint all over the verandah, I'd have it walked down the hallway, I'd have it all over me and God knows where else through out the house. There'd be paint handprints everywhere LOL. Gordon banned me from painting many many years ago LOL

Wendy @wjweese I hope you are feeling better after your surgery.

Gail @songbreeze I hope everything is going as well as they can be for you. (((((hugs)))))
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Been out and about this morning with sister to a few garage sales and then coffee and breakfast. Hopefully I have bought wisely and can make a decent return on my purchases.
Wendy @wjweese Take Care and I wish you a speedy recovery

    Happy Birthday George @george

    and

    Sue

  • Good Morning every one. I slept well last night 🙂
Wendy @wjweese I love getting away on weekends especially when its a weekend of having fun. Next weekend will be work for me. I go away to a Swapmeet.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Yesterday was such a beautiful day.The sun kept shining but the Temps didn't go up too high. I think today will be much the same. There is that nice little nip to the air this morning @ 14Celsius ( 57 F) It is suppose to reach 29Celsius (84F) Not bad for our summer 🙂
Reen @reen and Wendy @wjweese I am glad you got some sleep.

  • Good afternoon everyone. Tuesday is no my day for babysittng the DGK so I have been busy having fun with them all day.
It has been raining non stop all day. We have had drizzle, we've had heavy down pours and also thunder and lightening. Seems this weather has brought the Kangaroos up to DD's yard.Saw a mother and her baby this arvo.
Don @donscns I love your DDG pitcher
    Irene @jmart8248 It's very easy staying cool today. It's only 18°Celsius (64° F)
Wendy @wjweese No I wasn't really disappointed that much.I still sold enough to make it worth while.Just not as much as I usually do. I had a lovely time, caught up with friends and acquaintances that collect or sell. After we set up our stalls we sit around and have a nice chat while enjoying a beer or a nice glass or two of champagne. I cooked a delicious meal, which was fresh Australian Tasmanian Salmon served on cucumber spaghetti and topped with home made sauce and fresh baked beetroot. My friends that joined me for this meal have not long been back from a River Cruise in Europe. They said my meal was equivalent to what they were served on their 5 star cruise 🙂 I was pretty pleased with that 😀 I must admit it was very very delicious, even if i say so myself 🙂
    Carl @carma brrrrrrr
Gail @gailmacphee , Nancy @jerseystar27 and anyone else experiencing extreme weather conditions. Stay warm and stay safe
Gail @songbreeze I am so pleased that everything is looking positive. Continued positive thoughts and more ((((((hugs)))))) sent your way
    Julie

  • Wendy @wjweese he sure is into the Power thing. LOL I just ignore and sit on my hands a lot LOL I will help ppl if I can when asking for ID's and I will promote my selling page there. And on the odd occasion I will use it to auction something when I am a little unsure of price to ask. There are plenty of other Groups too and I use them to suit me and promote what I am selling. Its all about exposure on FB, Its not like you can do a search of whatever it is you wish to collect/buy, like eBay. You do need to be seen in the Groups, so ppl get to know you.So the more groups the better.
    Julie

  • Good morning everyone Summer continues down here. It is suppose to reach 35Clesius
Kelli @enchantmentglass Lovely to see you.
Wendy @wjweese I hope you are not too sore today after your little ordeal with the recliner. Sorry but I did laugh. It's one of those moment where you do sympathise but you also see the funny side 😆
Gail @songbreeze you were in my thoughts when I posted the coffee.Glad you liked it.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Last night it cooled down and I had a nice pleasant sleep, I just needed the sheet over me
Wendy @wjweese back on the day when I first started selling online. The majority of my customers were from USA. Our dollar rate was very low and shipping was cheap too. Its been forever since I have shipped anything overseas.
Gail @songbreeze thinking of you (((Hugs))))

Julie..going for morning tea with my gorgeous DD and granbkids 😀

  • Good Morning evveryone. Hot here again. I am going to try to survive without the air con today. I just can't handle it for another day.
Fenton @ohiostar when there was talk of petrol prices dropping our Government almost immediately up the taxes.
Shelly @shellyrae37 It was suppose to be coffee I posted but that's the beauty of virtual, you can make it anything you like LOL
Wendy @wjweese nice to see you back on board. 😀
Don @donscns one of my plans for this house is to go solar. Few of the neighbours already have it. And when and if I divide my block and build another house (smaller one ) for me when and if I get too old for this bigger house, It will be solar.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Sorry for not posting the coffee. I had planned on doing that befotre I left for the party but then forgot. But I see Gail has got it covered. Thanks. BTW I am feeling OK just a bit tired LOL and sore feet (too much dancing )
Bob @baabaamason It's great to see you and knowing you are on the mend.
    Nancy @jerseystar27 Safe travels
Marson @panishklo waving at you 🙂
Alicia @4931nextdoor I hope you are doing well

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY @wjweese

  • @wjweese Wendy, Happy Birthday!! I hope it's a great day.

@baabaamason Bob, so good to see you and so glad you're healing. Glad you'll be getting to see your furkids -- I'm sure they miss you too.

Wishing everyone else with health issues wishes for speedy and complete healing.

We're in the United Club lounge waiting for our flight to San Francisco. DH has a conference so we'll be there until Friday night (taking the red-eye home).

  • Good Mornng everyone. A much cooler morning then yesterday. Its over cast and looks like we mat get some rain
Carl @carma In all the years I have used PP have only had one issue with them, that was many years ago and it worked in the buyers favours. She lived in USA I posted her item and she claimed Item Not Received 2-3 days after she had paid. 2-3 days was not even enough time for the parcel to leave the country. I fought she won. But I did win in the long run because I dealt with it outside of PP. I told her I had proof she now had her item and that I would take it elsewhere and commence a Postal Fraud case. She paid up again
Katie @fyrqueen Glad sales on FB have been good to you.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I'll keep the warm weather reports coming if you keep the chilly ones coming LOL
Wendy @wjweese we got Mum a medical alert to hang around her neck when she was living on her own and guess where she kept it???? Yep beside the phone , she wouldn't wear it.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Its looking a bit cloudy outside so maybe we will get some rain. The storm birds have been about "singing" the past few days and the weather report last night said storms in some areas. I do hope we get some rain, things are getting very dry here
Wendy @wjweese We are a fine pair LOL aren't we ? Both one handed LOL. I hope your hand heals quickly.

    Take care everyone
    Julie

  • @panishklo MARSON ... The scarf is 2 separate loops...any pattern you want...that reaches mid-thigh to knees. A twist is put in the loop before you sew it shut. The second loop in a contrasting color is put through the first loop before you then sew the second one shut. You can just let the 2 which are slightly entwined as is with jeans. Or you can take the two loops, give it one twist in the center and drop the second half over your head for a double scarf. You can also pull and twist one more time so that you have it a third time which is what if have on the model. The hat...not really a pattern. Just something I made up as I went along as I had only a certain amount of thread left so I just winged it as I went.

@wjweese WENDY .... I've had a lot of fun trying out these different little projects. If they sell at the Oktoberfest that will be great. If they don't, then I can just pass them on to where they might be needed.

  • Good Morning everyone.
I have found a couple goodies at the thrift store lately. One of them was a small, 3 1/2", Daisy and Button with Crossbar, canary stem. It holds less than 2oz. I think it's the cordial. Does anyone know for sure?

@jerseystar27 Very nice booth. I hope your not too sore. I hate to ask...but have to know. Was any glass hurt? LOL

@JimD, I'm clueless. What is a thunder shirt?

@wattleihavenext , and @jmart8248 Yep blond moments..we all have them. LMBO at Julie's story about the ATM because that happened to Jerry and I just the other Day. My youngest totaled her car so she asked us to go to the bank for her. The branch Jerry and I use has only been open about a year so everything is newer (all touchscreen). We pull up in the drive through and around about the third step, it says enter pin number. Jerry says "Where the heck is the touch pad" Well I don't see it either so we figure he did something wrong, so we start over. Same thing again. "Well maybe it is on the next page. Hit next." Nope. Start over again. Then start over again. About that time, I told him "I feel like we are on one of those hidden camera shows." By this time I was only half joking. I look around and I see it! A manual keypad to the right of the touchscreen, but it has a tinted plexiglass hood on it that obscures the numbers from anyone lurking nearby. Oh my goodness. We laughed so hard!

@wjweese Wow, great job on the tree skirts! They a amazing. Especially Big Momma!

@george I thought of you the other day. I was at the thrift store and someone had donated a collection of different colored Geogian tumblers. I almost picked up the 3 best ones(they were only .95 each) but put them back. They were apple green, ruby, and a light blue with the seam going around the hexagon.

@fyrqueen, You are a gutsy lady! There is no way I am getting out of my bed in the middle of the night, to see what that sound is! I can handle a little mouse but... until you open the door, you don't know what it is. If it was anything bigger I would have had to change my jammies! lol

  • Good Morning everyone. Lazy day planned for me, I think. Unless someone calls and has better plans LOL
Don @donscns Glad tou are feeling better. BTW I LOVE British humour
Wendy @wjweese Tinypics is not cooperating with me again so I am having trouble seeing your pics. All it shows me is a page full of adds and a blank space where your pic is suppose to be. I'll go back later and try.
Nancy @jerseystar27 good luck at the antique Show
    Julie

  • @wjweese Wendy -- absolutely beautiful!!

I haven't really gotten lost either. For the first time in many years, I'm doing an antique show on Sunday. It's an outdoor show that used to be only antiques. Apparently there are fewer and fewer dealers so the people who manage the show have combined it with a craft show. They used to do an equal number of craft shows and antique shows every year -- now it's almost all craft shows. My sister and her friend sell at many of the craft shows. So, we're sharing a booth on Sunday. I've been washing and tagging and researching and now have 3 tubs (plus a few extra things) ready to go. It's been so long that I've lost touch with selling prices, not to mention forgotten makers and patterns. Looked at lots of sold auctions on eBay to get an idea of going prices (but figure I can go a little higher as there's no shipping). Very proud of myself that I id'd my unknowns. Will take photos of my tables to share.

  • Good Morning everyone. We are starting to feel the Spring in the air down here.
Gail @songbreeze thanks for the hug. It is sad. My uncles and Aunties are getting on in age 🙁 My Uncle (by marriage) had been quiet ill for sometime.
Wendy @wjweese yes my little cherubs are precious and they do love the water 🙂
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone, weather not so good here, windy and raining. But we do need the rain so very much.
Carl @carma I am sure Marley is going to do very well out in the big world. She has been raised well and given very good guidance
Don @donscns ((((hugs))) I am not looking forward to when Miss P goes to "big school" I will miss that little darling so much.
Shelly @shellyrae37 alls good I have plenty of energy for those little cherubs.BTW I did bootcamp last night LOL
Wendy @wjweese yes I had a bang up good time. I always do when I go away with the bike club. We have so much fun. Feet were a little sore on the Sunday (high heels and dancing on Friday and Sat night LOL)
Gail @songbreeze what a clever little thing you are 😀
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. Todays weather is a repeat of yesterday, Chilly morning, sun warmed up and now early afternoon, overcast and back to chilly again. Plus it is trying its hardest to rain. We really do need it bad.
Jim @dorbitz I hope you enjoyed your walk. It sounds beautiful.
    Reen @reen Shelly @shellyrae37 Wendy @wjweese 😆 😆 😆
Gail @songbreeze I am glad you can finally lay your friend at peace

  • Good Monday morning to you all. I plan an easy day going at a slow pace. Will need to get van cleaned out and outside washed, a bit of housework and washing and in between a bit of time on the computer.Whatever takes my fancy. LOL
Reen @reen 😆 at the swimming goggles
Wendy @wjweese I did have a nice long soak in a hot bath .Always feels so good after a swapmeet. But this morning my eyes are still feeling gritty and I am sneezey But I don't expect anything else on a Monday morning after a swapmeet LOL And this one is the worst for dust and dirt.Over a thousand outdoor sites in the showground and around the trotting track (dirt) You can get the picture having all those vehicles moving around on it to get to and from their stalls and then all the shoppers kicking up the dust as they walk.
Alicia @4931nextdoor I received a flyer over the weekend and there is a new swap starting up (again) just 2 mins drive from me in 2 weeks times But I doubt I will do it. For some reason those ones that have been held there have never been a success. Plus I have a "party" weekend that same weekend. The group I do bootcamp with are having a night out on the town and I don't want to miss that LOL
Julie..trying to decide what to have for breakfast 🙂

  • Good Morning everyone. Chilly here this morning but I think the day will turn out OK (warm and sunny)
    Wendy @wjweese Nice find
Alicia @4931nextdoor ((((hugs))))) I cry every time I think of the pain you must be going through. One I can only imagine and hope I never have to go through. ((((hugs)))))

  • @wjweese Wendy, wow!! Only $8, how great. The second eBay piece does have a fair amount of damage, also it really doesn't look as yellow as the first piece. The think for you to check is whether the space between the leaves is open or whether it is filled in with glass. If it's filled in the piece is from L.G. Wright. Still a beautiful piece and more than worth the $8.

  • Wendy @wjweese They say that things happen for a reason. Now to work out what the reason is, why I was not meant to go on this trip. I did think about heading back up north, after the funeral, to meet up with friends at the next swapmeet. But I decided I didn't want to travel 900 klms on my own in only 2 days.
Gail @songbreeze thanks for the hugs. I have had a nice quiet easy day to myself today. Everyone is out , I did a bit of shopping, bumped into some friends I don't get to chat with very often, at a coffee shop. So I had a lovely time catching up over a nice coffee.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. We got a little bit of rain over night, much needed.
Today is the only day I will have to get the van and myself organised for my trip in two days. Kids are heading off to daycare , DD is at work and SIL will be at the house working. SO I have the day all to myself no interuptions
Carl @carma I am in the same boat as you with reference books and magazines. Maybe not quite as many as you but I do have a lot on all various subjects and collectables. We paid good money for them new, some where not cheap at all . But now I rarely ever look at them and to sell...well... I'd only get a pitence for them, so not worth all the hassle. Not to mention the weight of lifting them in and out of the van.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Yep it is a big sized house ,5 bedrooms. Well now its 4 bedrooms because they turned 2 rooms into one. Has inground pool and is on 2 acres over looking the countryside Here is a pic of their backyard. No one has lived in the house for 8 months, so the pool is a little neglected but that won't take much to correct.

George @george Yep it is a fair bit of travelling. I usually clock up close to 4,000klms each July
IreneM @jmart8248 and Wendy @wjweese Thanks for the well wishes
Gail @songbreeze Thanks for sharing your finds. They are gorgeous And I must say , your photography skills are superb

  • Good afternoon, glassies.

@booklady LYNN ... Welcome to the Glass Chat. So glad you decided to join in. Precious grandbaby! EAPG stands for Early American Pattern Glass . This website explains all about it, what it is, when it was made, and shows you all different patterns. http://www.patternglass.com/eapgHome.htm

Got my eyes checked today and will get new glass by end of next week. My sister is sick with laryngitis and sinuses. Got her medicine and soothing things to eat or drink. I'm still in sun glasses from having my eyes dialated. Looked like one cool granny shopping in WalMart. 🙂

@donscns DON ... ok, Don, I won't besmirch your Post Office any more. So glad your items all arrived in one piece for a change!

@wjweese WENDY ... I bought several little patterns for crochet yesterday on-line. Love when I can just print them out immediately. Now all I have to do if find time to sit down and actually crochet.

HI to CARL, BOB in KY, GEORGE, and IRENE M.

  • Good Morning everyone its cold and windy here today but at least the sun is shining
Alicia @4931nextdoor I am slowly selling off all the collections.I pick a piece from here and a piece from there. I've been travelling around the swapmeets mostly. My Australian Citron Glass I am now starting to think seriously about selling. I have packed a few items for an upcoming Antique Show I will be doing at the end of this month. I have also listed a set of 6 Blue Opaline Vallerysthal wine goblets on Facebook in one of the Australian Groups I am a member but so far no takers
Reen @reen and Wendy @wjweese I love Facebook!!
    Julie

  • Good Morning all. It hasn't stopped raining since I left the markets. Rained all the way home and we have been getting some intermittent heavy down pours here all through the night.
Gail @songbreeze I suprised myself this morning, when I rolled over to see what time it was, it was almost 9a.m LOL I don't normally sleep in like that but being winter and dark because of the rain (also have roller shutters that keep out the light) I stayed snuggled in bed, thinking it was about 6 or 7a.m and I was planning my next few days ahead.LOL
Glad you enjoyed the show. Its awlays great fun as a buyer or a seller
Shelly @shellyrae37 I hear you on "running out of time" I have a big Antique Show to prepare for end of this month.I also need to get perpared for my annual July trip trekking about doing swapmeets and travelling about in another State (Queensland this year) And I need to have stuff packed and ready to throw in my van for when I get back for another big swap down here, within just a couple of days of arriving home. I also have DD's birthday next weekend and mine end of month And to top it all off DD, SIL and grandkids will be moving in with me for a few weeks or so, while they are in "NO mans land" between selling their house and buying their new one.
Wendy @wjweese It was a lovely weekend. I do love this country market. It has a special kind of atmosphere and a variety of stalls. Its not just Antiques and collectables.
BTW if you have any luck with the gremlins doing everything, will you let me know your secret. I sure could do with some help right about now LOL
Julie.. scrolling while eating a very late breakfast

  • Katie @fyrqueen so sorry to hear another peace of glass bites the dust because of inadequate care in packing.
    Wendy @wjweese 😆 😆 😆 The things we did as kids 😆 😆 😆
Gail @songbreeze I remember the beautiful things Dave used to make out of broken glassware. Kitchen windows etc DDG!!
Shelly @shellyrae37 I am so glad your DH is getting good medical care.
So sorry to hear about your friend ((hugs)) to you.

  • Wendy @wjweese I do the same as you. I scroll the board and write my replies to posts in Notepad and when I am finished all I have to do is copy paste. Makes life very easy LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 I can only dream of having totally nothing to pack back up LOL I have only come close to that once, and that was many many years ago. At some of the swaps we do get Dealers through that will buy large quantities and will haggle for a good deal on a big job lot. That happens to me on numerous occasions. You get to know the dealer and he/she gets to know you.
Goerge @george Have you checked out Loetz, Kralik and the likes for your green vase
Gail @songbreeze WOW you have been hard at it!!

Now I need to get back to cleaning my van. Travelling out in the country you pick up a heck of a lot of bugs that splatter all over the van and truck. Takes a lot of cleaning, especially on the very top sections of my camper where I need to use an extended handle to be able to reach.LOL
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Its only April, it is the beginning of Autumn. We have a couple more months before we are into winter LOL I set up rain hail or shine and heavy frosts. I set up on Friday and others had set up Thursday.Saturday is the big day for the shoppers at this particular swap. Sunday is a very slow day and we do normally pack up just before lunch . That way we are home before dark and we don't have to worry about colliding with any kangaroos on the country roads. But when I looked out of my van early morning and saw what the weather was like I decided I was not going sit around in the rain and cold and have everything get wet when I packed. I grabbed the opportunity while it was dry, to get out of there. Just not worth it for an extra $50 if that.Rain came down just as I was finishing packing up the last of my stuff.
Wendy @wjweese I am home but its not so warm LOL That breeze we are getting is coming off snow BUT at least the sun is shining

    Happy Birthday Reen
    and
    Toby

  • Good Morning everyone. Rain again and it looks like it has set in for a few days.
Irene @jmart8248 Yes the rain will be good for the plants. I am not one for watering my garden much, so they have to be tough to last in my garden LOL And I just planted some new herbs and a few vegs, so now they do have a chance of survival with this weather LOL
Gail @ songbreeze LOL yes I am hoping it will not turn into a swamp meet LOL We usually have great Autumn weather for this one. Cold at night but nice clear sunny skies throughout the day
Wendy @wjweese My motto is to always enjoy yourself, no matter what. Life throws us some curve balls, sometimes too often, BUT you have to keep on keeping on and you have to live and love life. I try my hardest to do just that. I like to laugh a lot.
JimL @dorbitz I'd jump at that bargain on the Rose bowl..but... it's the cost of shipping to me..well. .... that would take away from it being such a bargain LOL
    Julie

  • Gail @songbreeze I love your bowl I will be doing some digging around checking up on some of the glass I bought yesterday, I'll keep your bowl in mind , maybe I'll stumble upon it somewhere.
Wendy @wjweese gentle (((hugs)))) to you
Katie @fyrqueen Glad you are feeling better
    Shelly @shellyrae37 continued positive thoughts
Carl @carma Looks like you will be forever in winter
Don @donscns You could do what a friend of mine has done. They built in a display case, ceiling to floor and one complete wall in their dining room the shelves were only wide enough for one item, so nothing is hidden behind another. It looks great and certainly shows off a lot of their collections.
Lainey @favoritegram I hope you don't get another earthquake. Stay safe. BTW have you seen or heard from Marypat. I do worry about her and Lars.
    Julie

  • Marson @panishklo My sentiments exactly about daylight savings. Another thing, in summer we get plenty of daylight after 5p.m. Its still light at 8p.m. I can't see why ppl enjoy it still being daylight at 9.pm. I want to sleep by then LOL
I hated it from the word go, when it started down here My DD was just a baby and I had just got her into a sleeping routine to suit our routine. Well the introduction to DLST through that out the window.
Carl @carma I have always loved that Indian saying about DLST.LOL And I think whoever came up with DLSDT moved onto work for eBay LOL
BTW glad to see the storm missed you. I hope you eventually see Spring By the sounds of it though you'll be waiting till summer for that to happen
Wendy @wjweese I hope the pain has gone by now and you get a good nights sleep tonight
Gail @songbreeze I feel for the children in the country that have to get up so early to start with, to get to school. Its still dark for them and I don't think, such a good idea to have them standing out on a country road waiting for the bus in the dark. And surely such an early start would interfere with their concentration and ability to learn properly. They are already at a disadvantage with the time they need to travel to get to school, why burden them with extra.
Katie @fyrqueen ((((hugs)))) hope you feel better soon
NORA @nicknack2 Sounds like you had a great birthday 🙂

  • Good morning, glassies. Trying to get myself awake because I have to leave before long to take my friend to the doctor in Tulsa. Giant yawn.

I finally broke down and listed 2 items yesterday on Ruby Lane....and one sold last night. It was just a little $22 item but I love that there is no FVF and that I don't have to offer free shipping.

@wjweese WENDY ... so sorry you are having one of those difficult nights. Hope morning brings you a bit of relief.

@carma CARL ... speaking of relief...waking up to an above 0 temperature must feel grand!

Well, one more cup of coffee then it will be time to get myself moving and headed toward Tulsa.

  • Had an enjoyable time with my friends for supper at Catfish John's.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... Lovely things and wish I had more time to search but the best I can do right now is with your green/gold vase. U.S. Glass #16048 . See page 171 of Heacock/Bickenheuser Book 5.

@wjweese WENDY ,... great link for hat sizes. I printed it out. Thanks.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... certainly in my prayers ... particularly that you relax and not worry while you have to wait. (((((Hugs)))))

    HI to ALL glassies.

  • @wjweese Wendy, your crochet projects are lovely!! I can't crochet but my sister can so both of my children were lucky enough to have little sweaters, hats, and booties.

  • Been a busy day here. Got the dog to the groomer, shopped at Walmart, ran by the medical equipment place to make an appointment to get a new bi-pap mask, picked the dog up looking beautiful 🙂 , came home and did a load of laundry, vacuumed, mopped the kitchen and dining room, sat down at the computer and did my monthly Sales Tax report, Dear Sister dropped by and we had coffee and chatted, went and did my 10 minute walk the doctor ordered...now I'm ready to turn on the tv, sit down in the recliner, and pick up the crocheting. Making a bunny purse for my California GD.

@wjweese WENDY ... I just love all you crochet projects. They are just splendid.

I received another cruet in the mail...Heart with Thumbprint...for my cruet collection. I'll be so glad when I get caught up with tagging all my glassware and take it to the malls, because I really want to work on my cruet collection. I've purchased nearly 40 stoppers and I really want to get all my cruets named, researched what type of stopper they made need, and really figure out how to display them nicely. Won another one today, McKee's Sextec.

HI to JULIE, CARL, REEN, DON, FRAN2, SUZY, GEORGE, SHELLY, IRENE M, and KATIE!

  • Good Morning everyone . Weather reports is more showers today. I can handle that 🙂
Wendy @wjweese This particular swap I did at the weekend, is almost mostly a social event. Sales are few and far between LOL I go there knowing I will only make $100
Don @donscns I hate daylight saving too!! And in their wisdom down here, they have extended it...grrrrr we don;t turn our clocks back now till APRIL! NOT HAPPY JAN!!!
Gail @songbreeze I always forget about taking pics. I'll try to remember to get some next weekend.
Shelly @shellyrae37 Enjoy your ME time

  • Good morning, glassies. We had such snow and ice last week that we couldn't even go to Church. Today nearly 60, tomorrow 70s, and Tuesday suppose to reach 79. Hard to wake up early this morning, but it will be fun to have the extra hour of daylight this evening.

@newtonenterprises JIMD ... it's a liquid given with a syringe. I just wrap Frannie with a towel, but what's so messy is she's just like Vesuvius. You squirt a bit in the back of her throat and, just like trying to feed a baby for the first time, it begins spewing and bubbling from her mouth. She only has to have it once a day. She's been perkier the past couple of days, but still not eating, not drinking, and wet the bed again yesterday. I'm seeing the vet Monday and if she still isn't doing any better I'm going to have them keep her overnight until we can get some of this under control.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... your swap meets always sound fun. You really should take at least one or two pictures to show us your set-up so we can enjoy it vicariously.

@wjweese WENDY ... a cowboy boot! What a hoot! Very creative thinking. 🙂

@reen REEN ... love the Irish Blessings.

HI to IRENE M, SHELLY, DON, CARL, GEORGE, and KATIE!

  • @george George ... oh my word! What one does for grandkids! My sister's been caught up in a similar situation this weekend with her granddaughter. All I can be is a sympathetic ear. 🙂

@wattleihavenext JULIE .... oh my my my my my...I get dizzy just THINKING about you climbing that bridge. I'm serious, the thought really does make me dizzy. I'd just be frozen in place before I even got started. Can hardly wait to hear all about your adventure.

@wjweese WENDY ... glad you are minding your doctor's orders and not over-extending your energy.

I spent a good deal of the day deleting photos from my computer. Got about 500 deleted until the repetition finally nearly put me to sleep. Then I got a box of glass tagged and packed to take to the local mall tomorrow. So I felt I accomplished a bit today.

  • Good Morning everyone I am off to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge today. This is going to be one fun and adventurous weekend 😀 😀 😀
Don @donscns I hope the wind dies down for yopu. I hate the wind, like you it upsets my sinuses.
George @george Good luck to your grandsons team!!!
Wendy @wjweese rest up and take things easy

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON/skccoast @sfinds

  • Good morning, glassies. Up and at it early this morning to take Mr. Rocky Furkid to the beauty shop. Got laundry started and am cleaning up the house a bit as a friend is coming over to work on a silent auction she is having to organize.

@wjweese WENDY ... so very sorry to read of all the ills you've been through. I do hope you are really following doctor's orders and allowing your body to heal thoroughly before trying to be too active.

We are to reach 70 today so I hope to get a lot done. So easy to do stuff when the sun's shining and the temp is mild. Hope to list a couple of things today too.

Good Morning to JULIE, IRENE M, CARL, DON, KATIE, and SHELLY....

  • Good Morning everyone, very dark and overcast down here. We got enough sunshine yesterday for me to get everything dried. And we were lucky enough to have no rain during Boot Camp. But bring it on The farmers need more rain. They are suffering badly.
Wendy @wjweese ((((hugs))))) to you. I hope you are feeling on top of the world very soon
    Julie

  • Oh, golly, it's been one thing after another today..... not much chance to get much at home done.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY .... nothing smarter about me. This is day 3 of trying to figure out this new system. Still can't find where my contact email addresses are! Don't have a photo editing software to work with. Still haven't figured how to find a "back" button. Don't know why sometimes I lose all my tabs when I'm just trying to close one tab. I did finally find my favorites today which I thought I'd lost.

@fran2 FRAN ... gee, I don't know what converter I used. It's just that when I tried to open the document it said I would need to download a converter and there was a link that took me to several and I just used the first one on the list. It only worked on my word processing documents. It didn't work on my Excel and I still can't open them. I'll go search the net and see if I can find what I used. ..............Time Out .......... I just checked my downloads and this is what I used. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12 looking further down I guess I should now do "01" so that my Excel will open. Maybe tomorrow as I'm so tired and sleepy now.

@wjweese WENDY ... yikes...jails and courts...what a bunch of gobbledegook. Turns out she just went before the judge who rattled off some formula that he said to each of the people there...Come back on such and such date, bring a lawyer to enter your plea, if you can't afford an attorney, etc. So we went across the hall and got a several page paper she will have to fill out to request a lawyer then pay $40 to submit the request and wait to find out if she will be approved for a court appointed lawyer. There's more but it's just too much to write or think about right now. 🙁

@itsagas BILL ... I actually like quinoa when it is all spiced/herbed up...and I love yogurt if it's flavored. Think I'll go grab a cherry one right now. 🙂

@jmart8248 IRENE ... Saw those snow rollers on tv news tonight for the first time. What a hoot. Kind of a Northerner's tumbleweed.

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Reached 69° yesterday...glorious day. By night, we had wind gusts of 55 mph and woke up to 4° wind chill. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Went out and did some antiquing yesterday, nothing too fabulous, but fun nonetheless. Need to unwrap the things, wash them up, and hunt for IDs. Also have to get them entered into inventory,...ugh, don't like to have to do the paper work.

@wjweese WENDY ... sorry, don't know your green items. Pretty cutting on them. Too bad they don't have the other candlestick to go with the set.

HI to CARL, DON, KATIE, FRAN2, SHARON, GEORGEm, NANCY P, and SHELLY!

  • Finished my scroll
Katie @fyrqueen Glad your thyroid is on track. WTG!!
OMG Wendy @wjweese You sure have had a time!!!
Gail @songbreeze Don't you just hate it when something goes missing??!!!

    Stay warm and safe everyone
    And Happy treasure hunting
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies.

@wjweese WENDY ... well luckily those days don't come but once in a blue moon. I call that my "Crap, Crud, and Corruption" Day. Good gravy, I hope you are feeling better today and not all bruised up.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... you have to be careful doing so much outdoor work and/or exercise in such heat. It can really take a toll on your health. Wishing you some cooling rain.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... hope you have fun and lots of luck at the sale today!

I had a bowl on Ruby Lane for quite some time. It's been sitting in my dining room for months. I passed through the other day and all of a sudden I didn't see it. Couldn't imagine where it went. Decided to un-list it until I could locate it. Lo and behold, I get an inquiry as to where is the bowl! I've searched all over this house...and this is a SMALL house...and I can't imagine where it is. It's rather a medium size bowl so it can't hide in any tiny spots. What a puzzle!

HI to CARL, SHARON, and GEORGE!

  • Good afternoon glassies. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Carl, thank you for sharing the wonderful pictures of all of your hard work. It is simply amazing with all of the fine details. Is there anything you do not know about? LOL!

@wjweese Wendy, Thank you. I'm not sure I have ever had a piece of this pattern which is probably why I didn't know it and needed the experts help. LOL!

I am off to take some more pictures again. I'm so darn mad at myself. I posted a picture here on Saturday of a beautiful lamp my dh purchased and of course I go and break the prettiest part of it, the shade. Gosh, I am angry with myself! Now watch I will find out it was some rare piece or something. GRRR!

  • As far as my little friend, she's one of the ladies that I take to the doctor in Tulsa and try to help out. Vinita's main industry for decades was the Eastern State Mental Institution. The Department of Corrections took it over and there are only about 24 beds for the criminally insane. http://www.asylumprojects.org/index.php?title=Vinta_State_Hospital But back when they released most of the patients there was no where for them to go. Many had no families and other difficulties...so anyway, our town was the stopping point. We now have a lot of group homes but basically it's all fairly inadequate to give care for so many who need it. My little friend is is poor physical/mental health and we believe a very new policeman was not aware she was part of what the community refers to as "street people". If there is a problem with someone getting agitated or causing a disturbance, usually the police will just help take them home. As it was, with her being put in jail overnight they wouldn't give her the medications she needs and she was a basket case by last night. Luckily all is well now. The bondsman was able to get her out and we got her home. Talked with her at noon and she's doing much better. Her grown son is watching over her too. She has good days and rocky days. So she just needs a helping hand now and then. All's well that ends well.

@wjweese WENDY ... love your trivet! And I certainly could empathize with the stop/start/stop/start "this is going to be too hard" routine. Amazing how if we just plow though we look back and say, hey, that wasn't so bad after all. I must go find a new project now.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I want to make the gingerbread house for my grandkids, but that one is for a silent auction for some big 22-county Home Extension thing a friend belongs to. Don't know how well a Christmas item will go over this time of year, but I had been dying to make it so it was a good excuse. Couldn't find an Easter Pattern to try instead. Will have to go search the web and see what I can come up with.

Well, I'm sleepy and feel a nap coming on. 🙂

  • Good morning (just) everyone It's going to be a hot one for us down here 🙁
Carl @carma I think the vase is DDG!!
Betty @sjell I hope you are feeling much better today (((((hugs)))
    JimD @newtonenterprises I have managed to survive 58 years without a roof rake. I'm sure I can go another 58 years 😆 😆 😆
Wendy @wjweese I hope you too are feeling better today
    Julie

  • Wendy @wjweese laughing is good for the soul 🙂 And I like to do it often.
Katie@fyrqueen Maybe you could all get a discount on the air fares. Bulk buying and all that LOL
Irene @jmart8248 Just head south and keep on going LOL

  • Good Monring everyone At 8a.m (DLST) is currently 25°C Gearing up for a hot one.
Wendy @wjweese and everyone else COME ON DOWN!!! I am sure we could manage somehow I have 2 spare double beds, and 1 lounge and plenty of floor space LOL And a sister that lives just around the corner
Shelly @shellyrae37 and Irene @jmart8248 Congratulations on your sales I have a little pile here that I have earmarked to list on eBay BUt I am having a very hard time getting motivated
    Julie

  • Hello, glassies. Turned out to be a very long day, but in spite of the cold cold cold temp, the sun was shining and the roads were totally clear. I'm really quite tired but if I go to Joplin tomorrow I absolutely must get some items researched, ready, and tagged to take with me tonight.

@wjweese WENDY ... I love the ornament, beautiful colors and shape.

I feel for all of you in the way of tomorrows big storm. I will keep each and every one of you in my prayers that you will stay safe and warm with plenty of food and electricity until this storm passes.

  • @fyrqueen Katie, oh my goodness!! I'm so glad your DH is okay. Sending gentle {{hugs}} and wishing you a very peaceful and non-eventful 2014!

@songbreeze Gail, your Nativity figures are lovely!

@wjweese Wendy, the afghans, scarves, etc., are beautiful!

  • Good evening, glassies. Got three things listed today. For me that is a lot! I'm just as slow as Moses. By the time I take the pictures, get them edited, figure out the title, the description, check the books for accurate ID's... well it just takes me forever.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... how frightening that must have been for you all. So glad you DH is doing well now.

@suzy SUZY ... the toy box is just absolutely adorable. I'm sure you had a fun time getting it all put together.

@wjweese WENDY ... I truly don't know how you do it. I could never ever crochet that fast. All the projects are just lovely and you will have a grand Christmas with all the family and friends. Particularly they will cherish the items you made for them sewn with so much love.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... When we were in Canberra we celebrated Christmas outdoors at the park with a big BBQ. 🙂 What are your plans?

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... you keep yourself quite busy too. Yikes! Presents to wrap, cards to write, Christmas dinner to cook! You and Wendy have me tired out. 🙂

    Waving HI to FRAN 2!

  • @wjweese Wendy, Happy Birthday!!

@suzy Suzy, congratulations on a great sale!!

@fyrqueen Katie, it's doubly good you didn't come East. I have a nasty cold -- managed to take my car in for servicing, do a last food store run, stop at CVS for more cold meds, and fill up my gas tank. Now I'm heading off for a nap.

Snowstorm on its way for tomorrow. I'm not planning on going anywhere.

  • Good evening, glassies. I worked on my house all day. The dining room table is about to collapse under the weight of all the glass, but all the rest looks grand. I’m really pleased. I was really tired out and then the USPS truck pulled up and my daughter had sent a 10” Checkerboard cake from the Black Hound Bakery in NY. Oh my, what a reward it seemed to be for having gotten the house so clean and orderly. 🙂 My sister and her boyfriend came over and we had a delightful little afternoon ”tea time” with coffee and cake. Delightful!

Looking forward to relaxing this evening and watching Carrie Underwood in The Sound of Music.

@donscns DON … so sorry you are having grief with your computer. Hope your son can get it fixed soon.

@shellyrae37 … the winter storm hit and Governor Fallon has declared all 77 Oklahoma counties in a state of emergency. Suppose to be really hit hard tonight with snow. The cold weather is to continue all this week.

Oh dear, and my hot water pipe from my kitchen has frozen. I talked with the plumber and he said just to keep the facet open. He said it was the wind causing it to freeze and to get a couple of bales of straw to put next to the outside wall under my kitchen window. Well, my car isn’t big enough to move the bales but I had a large rug that I’ve tried to position to stop the wind. We have snow and sleet right now.

@jmart8248 IRENE M … hope you are doing well and will be able to check in soon.

@reen REEN and @wjweese WENDY … hope you all are doing ok too. This cold weather can surely bring out the aches and pains.

@fyrqueen KATIE … are you all getting this cold weather up your way?

  • Good Evening folks. Its been a full on day again for me with the grandkids But I loved every minute of it, especially the minute when I dropped them off back home LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 Yes I am very blessed to be able to spend so much time with my grandkids. I love them "all the money on the world and to the moon and back"
I read a little saying on Facebook once " I thought I was too old to fall in love again But then I had grandkids"
Gail @songbreeze from now till January I will be having the GK 2 days a week OMG I am exhausted just thinking about that LOL But I am sure I will get used to it and my body will adapt to all the lifting and walking around with one child attached to hip
Irene @jmart8248 Enjoy your rest 🙂 I am sitting here having a nice cold beer after having the GKs I don't normally drink during the week But I think I deserve a "tinny or two" ( Aussie slang for having a beer)
Wendy @wjweese That is a gorgeous set you crotchet
Fran @fran waving madly at you!!!

Heading off tomorrow morning(Friday) for a weekend away, camping .Its a motor bike Rally that the club Dh was a member and I am an Honorary member, holds every year. Lots of fun and laughter And I will see some ppl I only ever see once a year. Ppl from all over, that religiously make the ride every year.
See you all when I get back
    Julie 🙂

  • @wjweese WENDY ... can't imagine how you can crochet that fast, it's wonderful. I'm as slow as Moses. It would take me all month to do that. Adorable little hat and blanket. Well, I got the manger and hay done, but I'm not happy with my baby Jesus. I might redo him later. Started Mary tonight. I think I won't get it done for this Christmas, but I'll still go ahead and make it.

Sorry to hear both you and SHELLY are having such arthritis problems. I've added you both to my little pool of night-time prayers.

Going to bed shortly as I have to set the alarm for 4 a.m. as we are leaving about 5 a.m.

  • @itsagas BILL ... that's a new one on me. I looked on-line and in McCain's but had no luck matching up that pattern.

@reen REEN ... lovely tablecloth and love your decorations! And now you have me hungry, hungry, hungry....

@wjweese WENDY ... look forward to seeing your latest crochet project when finished. I'm trying to crochet a "Christmas Creche"...cute little nativity dolls and animals. Harder than I thought so we'll see if I get it done or give up....

HI to DON, GEORGE, and SUZY.

  • @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... There's a lady on FB that knew Lucy's family. I don't know if she is still in touch but I sent her a message and asked so hopefully she will respond.

    @suzy SUZY ... what a sweet kitty-kitty. I can't get Blue to sit still for a photo.

@wjweese WENDY ... I'm not quite as detailed as you, but nonetheless, I keep a record of what has been sent for birthdays and Christmas of 7 adults and 7 grandchildren.

@sellingthings MARTY ... love the photo of your furkids too!

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... Like Wendy, I don't worry about a repeat of items with the family. But I SURE have done that with glass! I hate when I don't remember I already have a piece in a pattern and buy a second one. I just did that with 2 Aztec cruets. What makes it so bad is that Aztec is a design I'm not even particularly fond of.

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... you always have pretty pieces of glass, but never any that I know an ID for! Sorry I can't be of help.

    Hi, GEORGE!

  • @wjweese Hi Wendy! Wow, that is so NOT cheating....that is ULTRA organized and awesome! I'm sure your family appreciates your organizational skills so they receive the perfect presents each year!

  • Good Afternoon everyone
Shelly @shellyrae37 the roof damaged to the supermarket happened during trading hours. It mustn't have been too much of a drama as I haven't hreard anything on the news about it.
I will be very interested in hearing if you get a reply from Marypat. I have emailed her and also have tried phoning her. I do worry about her and Lars/Bill
Wendy @wjweese Unfortunately yesterday when the storm hit I had to go out in it. I got totally soaked
Chris @collectibles4utwo So sorry to hear about your prang I hope it didn't interfere too much with any birthday celebrations
Katie @fyrqueen (((((((HUGS))))))))) to you and your family
    Julie

  • Happy happy Birthday to Gail and Marson! Hope you both have a fun day!!

@wjweese Wendy...nope couldn't find anything out on my pickle castor, but thank you for looking at it...I appreciate it 🙂

Oh my goodness Don, that is a DDG cabinet! I LOVE it!! No way would it fit in my house though, and I'll bet you've probably already caught up to me, as I've had to slow down quite a bit on my glass and curio collecting.

  • Good morning, glassies.

@carma CARL ... Love all the pictures of the slag. And you've probably forgotten, but I have your caramel slag wings half up goose/mallard that's in picture #5 on the far right top shelf! 🙂

@donscns DON ... well, I didn't put up a cake for FRAN as she hasn't been here in 1 1/2 years. She stays on Facebook so I was just saying HI there.

@wjweese WENDY ... I'll wash and dry my hair today and probably be happier with it. Isn't it something how we pay money to have it fixed but aren't happy until we do it "our way". I have to arrange it according to MY personality. 😀

  • @wjweese WENDY ... truly a bad hair day. I so wanted to look nice to see my son and his family for the first time in 2 years. Do you think it will grow out by Wednesday? 🙂

I'm pooped. Been wrapping packages all evening. One item I tried to fit in three different boxes and finally just had to cut down a box to get it to fit safely and still not cost an arm and a leg. I'm sure a bowl of ice cream will be just what I need!

  • @ohliz They have arrested a 2nd boy who is 15 years old. The 11 year old is still locked up , with out Bail. Our country is a harsh country and bushfires are bad enough without some one deliberately lighting them. At 11 years old & 15 years old , yes they would know exactly what the consequences would be.Its not like they never happen here. Just about every Summer the news is filled with devastating stories of bushfires. It is going to be interesting to see what actually happens to these kids. I do know the past few years they were talking about getting tougher on them. Lets hope so.
Wendy @wjweese Air quality for me is not too bad now because the fires near are under control But Sydney is choking
    Julie

  • Listing, listing, listing. Taking photos, editing, and listing. I hope I sell some things, but if I don't I'll just raise the price and transfer them over to Ruby Lane later. So it was a good day of work whether it sells this week or not.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... So glad we can meet and hopefully Nancy P will meet up with us. Hopefully since I'll be there for so long, the timing will work out. My son only has Sundays off work. So that's is only 2 days for all the time I'm there. He's going to try to get a bit more time off but it is iffy since this is a new job he just start a month or so ago.

@wjweese WENDY ... oh my, you live up there is the cold damp Northwest with RA? How very difficult. Dusting? haha, I have some stationery that says at the top "Housework Makes You Ugly." 🙂

Going to go thaw out some frozen soup to fix for supper. I love this soup so much that I made a double batch last time and eat a bowl of it nearly every day. It's the pork, kale, white bean soup.

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Been trying to list a bit more today.

@wjweese WENDY and @shellyrae37 SHELLY … This morning’s coffee was actually a self-portrait! 😆 Glad you enjoyed it.

@donscns DON …. Sorry to hear about your DMIL. Do hope she’s on the mend. You sure have been staying busy with hauling hay. I’m going to be asking if you can post coffee but you surely will let me know if interferes with other commitments.

@jerseystar NANCY P and @newtonenterprises JIM L … I’m still making plans, but I hope to be in Clarksburg, MD from October 30 til November 11. Hope maybe we can meet up for coffee or lunch or maybe even treasure hunting. Unfortunately, I'll be flying so I won't have my car to get around.

Really looking forward to this trip but it’s knocking a hole in my playing catch-up with trying to list and sell during the best time of year. That’s why I’m trying to put some items on eBay for 7 days now and that will give me time to mail anything if it sells. I’ll maybe try to write up some descriptions while I’m gone so I can launch them as soon as I return.

@carma CARL … love learning about the glass, but love the stories of how you obtained it equally as much!

HI to GAIL MAC, REEN and IRENE M.

  • Been all day in the midst of a massive cleaning of the bedroom. So much stuff on my bed yet to clear up. Doing a real overhaul.

Busy fixing some supper now so thought I'd do a quick scroll.

@wjweese WENDY ... your 3rd item is not Westmoreland. There is no name for it as it wasn't made in an extended pattern. It was made by Federal Glass Co.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Would love to see a picture of one of the goblets.

  • Good morning, glassies. Nice cool pleasant fall day today. Hope to get a lot of housework done today and maybe even list an item or two.

@wjweese WENDY ... I love your perspective on the footprints. I think I might be inclined to leave them and smile each time I saw them and feel safe and protected. 🙂

@emily007 NANCY EM ... so good to see you popping in. Hope all is going well with you now and you've had time to recover from your health issues and to settle in with your move and new job. I googled for unicorn logo/trademarks but had no luck trying to ID that mark.

@carma CARL ... Look forward to your article each morning. I felt very fortunate to have seen one of the Castles a couple of years back on display at the Mega Glass Convention that was held in Overland Park, Kansas.

HI to SUZY, KATIE, REEN, DON, and GEORGE!

  • @songbreeze Gail...Ava is absolutely adorable! LOVE those pics!!

@wjweese Wendy...such nice afghans...beautiful work! Like Gail, I am partial to the green one as well...beautiful pattern!

  • Good Morning everyone. A gorgeous sunny morning here so far. No extreme heat and no hot dirty dusty strong winds. I am loving it. 🙂
Shelly @shellyrae37 yes I got some of the smoke but it wasn't too bad. BTW Actually I did have a quiet weekend. But by Sunday arvo I was starting to feel very bored LOL I was getting ready to head out somewhere when the strong gusty winds came up and the bushfires were reported. Good time to stay indoors.
Wendy @wjweese Last count I heard 4 homes were lost in the fire . My friends were very lucky to escape the damage. BTW lovely afghans. You are very clever.
HI Jesse. @jrmrock Have enjoyed seeing your glass treasures.
    Gail @songbreeze Ava is adorable
Julie..trying to decide if I have enough energy left in me to mow the yard.

  • @wjweese WENDY ... oh, they are all beautiful, but I would particularly love to have the pattern to the green one!

  • @wjweese WENDY .... Eek! You just reminded me that I've never taken the clothes out of the washing machine and put them in the dryer! Off to do so right now!!

  • Good afternoon everyone. A DDG sunny day. Temps are back to normal. Acvtually it was a little nippy early this morning.
Sister and I did a couple of garage sales this morning before going out to breakfast. No glass treasures to report .I bought some vintage tools.
Reen @reen Thanks I did have fun. Always fun to catch up with a few friends over a few beers
Wendy @wjweese Air Con really upsets my sinuses. So I have to toss about which to choose being hot or having headaches
Marson @panishklo Glad you are back 😀
Curt @webmaster thank you for the map
Don @donscns I am heading over to the map now and will attempt to add myself there

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURIE @wellingtonct

  • Good morning, glassies. Beautiful day...sunshine and will reach 82°, very windy. Pre-heating the oven and getting ready to make cupcakes. Will try listing on Ruby Lane today also.

@carma CARL .... Really appreciate learning the distinction of the colors on the Leaf Mold pattern. Will certainly keep my eyes open. Thank you.

@wjweese WENDY ... Wow, you certainly must be able to crochet a lot faster than me. I'm still quite slow. Finished the shawl I was working on and gave it to my sister who wanted it. Started a little cap last night.

@reen REEN ... glad you enjoyed the coffee. 🙂 I have to try to find some new ones.

HI to JULIE, DON, FRAN 2, GEORGE, and SHELLY.
