• Yes it is hard to imagine it has been 12 months since George's passing. I do hope his wife and family are doing well

Nancy @jerseystar I was very lucky and had no reaction or side effects from either of my jabs.
@fyrqueen Katie yeah we have a few deniers down here too. They watch too much fake news and pretend experts on You Tube. My cousin's wife is one of them..there is no reasoning with them.

  • Nancy @jerseystar It is his memorial. I am not sure it is the exact date of his passing but it is the date (12months ago) I was told he had passed away.

  • Good morning.
We have been having perfect Autumn weather. A little cool and foggy in the mornings but glorious warm sunny days.
Nancy @jerseystar glad you made it through the wind ok

  • good morning

@jerseystar/NancyP we have peaceful marchers here but they do not get the wall to wall coverage the ragers/thieves do in Seattle.

  • good morning

@jerseystar Nancy the other thing is that the device folks can read remotely without my doing anything or even know it is happening. It also will alert them if certain triggers occur.

  • Well Good morning everyone! Long time no see. Thought I would stop by real quick and visit with old friends. The real quick part will be a challenge. I barely started scrolling and saw the birthday wishes! Thank you @Julie , @jerseystar/NancyP , @Marson, and @Fran2 .
Even though I have been MIA for quite awhile you took the time to send birthday greetings to someone who quite possibly might not even see them. You all put a big smile on my face. What a great way to start my day. Thank you again.

  • Good Morning

Tooling around the East Coast. Weather is beautiful. Far too many things to do and see and relatives to meet. I don't even know if there will be any time to go glass hunting!

@jerseystar.. Nancy, It looks like there is no way I am going to be able to meet up with you. So sorry, it would have been great fun!

    ***Don

  • @jerseystar, @ Carma48
Well I'm glad I already had dinner b4 reading Carl's description of that Italian food! I had fried burgers with A1 and provolone on the plate - no bun - and sauteed summer squash and a bit of leftover white turnip. Specifically Eastham white turnip which I think only grows on the Cape. Or they'd have you think that, anyway. The season is short... about a month... and I love it. So creamy compared to the rutabaga. ANYWAY, dinner was good but would have hit BLAND on the desirability scale if I'd read about THe Village first.
I once got a gift certificate for Olive Garden and sent it to a friend of mine, a fellow Irishwoman and her hubby - also Irish. They wanted to know why we didn't go and I said "We don't like it but it's Italian enough for you two!" Thankfully, although I grew up in the typical meat & padaydas kind of household with canned veggies every night, I had a lovely friend named Theresa from a large Italian family. Her mother spoke no English but could say to me "Mange, Mange.... you too skinny!" On Sundays dinner lasted 8 hours at her house and the cast of characters was delightful. Like Sopranos. I liked pasta fagiole so much better than beef stew! The veggies were fresh and dripping in garlic and herbs. There were 10 courses and the desserts were works of art. OMG............ wish I were there now!
My dessert tonight as last night and the night before is a Macintosh apple. ho hum.

  • Had an enjoyable time with my friends for supper at Catfish John's.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... Lovely things and wish I had more time to search but the best I can do right now is with your green/gold vase. U.S. Glass #16048 . See page 171 of Heacock/Bickenheuser Book 5.

@wjweese WENDY ,... great link for hat sizes. I printed it out. Thanks.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... certainly in my prayers ... particularly that you relax and not worry while you have to wait. (((((Hugs)))))

    HI to ALL glassies.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I just downloaded it. Wow, there's a lot to learn on how to use it. Does much more than the simple one I had before. I am wondering if there is a way I can resize. My camera is set high with a lot of pixels (2,000 or something). I use to edit the photo and then resize it to 600 x 600. I couldn't find a place to resize.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... Thanks, I'll certainly check it out right now.

  • @jerseystar Nancy P ... Is the clear creamer MIKADO aka LATE BUTTERFLY by Indiana?

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I'm using my sister's old monitor and think I might just go shopping for a whole new computer when I get around to it. This one is old without too much memory and running on XP.

The SUNBEAM piece is beautiful but wouldn't that be a spooner rather than a sugar that they had it labeled as? Ah, Herndon...right next to Reston where I use to live. Treasure hunting is always fun where ever it is! Looks like you had grand fun with all the treasures you have pictured!

  • Well, Good morning, glassies. Hope I didn't mess anyone up with the date screw-up. 😯

@jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks for the sweet words about my crochet. Wondering how the weather is treating you all. The rain and sleet are headed out and leaving a thick layer of ice everywhere. Church was canceled for the first time ever that I've known. Well, the priest will still say Mass but the requirement to attend is lifted due to the weather and road conditions. If it's not windy, I'll walk to Church as it's just 2 1/2 blocks from my house.

@mainewildrose SUE ... oh your decorations are just WONDERFUL! I can only imagine how super it will be to have all of your family together for Christmas.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... oh how frustrating! grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'd just file a non-paying bidder, block her, and be done with it.

@suzy SUZY ... I just get a big kick out of the fact that you are fearless...having all that glass in your house and 3 cats...truly fearless.

HI to IRENE M, GEORGE, REEN, CARL and JIM D. Hoping everyone is having a great weekend and a festive time during the Holiday Season.

  • @gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... sorry, I can't help with your shot glass. It does have a bit of the Moondrops look, but it's missing the rings that encircle the glass in that pattern, so I doubt it is NM.

@favoritegram LAINEY ... I continue to be of no help. 🙁 Very unusual pattern and texture, but I'm not familiar with it.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... I have the Shetlar book but I think there is more to see on the website ... http://www.shetlarglass.com/stretchglass/SGCompanies/SGID01.htm

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... unfortunately, the Croesus is a reproduction. It is too flared at the top and the the three scrolls curl around but do not touch the inside of the scroll. Ref: "Is it old? Is it new?" by Griscom with Boyd, page 10.

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Been trying to list a bit more today.

@wjweese WENDY and @shellyrae37 SHELLY … This morning’s coffee was actually a self-portrait! 😆 Glad you enjoyed it.

@donscns DON …. Sorry to hear about your DMIL. Do hope she’s on the mend. You sure have been staying busy with hauling hay. I’m going to be asking if you can post coffee but you surely will let me know if interferes with other commitments.

@jerseystar NANCY P and @newtonenterprises JIM L … I’m still making plans, but I hope to be in Clarksburg, MD from October 30 til November 11. Hope maybe we can meet up for coffee or lunch or maybe even treasure hunting. Unfortunately, I'll be flying so I won't have my car to get around.

Really looking forward to this trip but it’s knocking a hole in my playing catch-up with trying to list and sell during the best time of year. That’s why I’m trying to put some items on eBay for 7 days now and that will give me time to mail anything if it sells. I’ll maybe try to write up some descriptions while I’m gone so I can launch them as soon as I return.

@carma CARL … love learning about the glass, but love the stories of how you obtained it equally as much!

HI to GAIL MAC, REEN and IRENE M.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I'm hoping I'll feel up to making the trip sometime in October. I don't want to travel in the winter, but hoping Autumn would still be nice. I guess Thanksgiving would be a nice time too but I worry about the weather by then.

  • HI to GEORGE, KATIE, and BILL!

@ohliz ... ROTFLOL @ your water aerobics class!

@jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks, as one can never have too many prayers. After this coronary angioplasty, I still have the renal stents to have done on Sept 4. Really hoping I'll get to the East Coast some time in October. Might be fun to be there at Halloween with the grandkids.

GERMS: While in Nigeria we visited a village. The chieftan had 13 wives and just that month 2 of the wives had given birth. Those babies had scarification to denote their royal lineage. The three deep cuts on their cheeks were packed with mud. Our translator said it inoculated them against tetanus.

OKLAHOMA GERMS... no self-respecting Okie baby ever grew up who hadn't eaten dirt and/or bugs on many an occasion. If anything hit the ground and you hadn't let it linger too long before you picked it up, then it was fair game to eat it.

Of course, since I already have 4 stents and I'm getting ready to have a slew more, I guess I'm not exactly the poster child for "Germs Won't Hurt You." 😆

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I saw what looked like a vaseline lid with an interesting finial. My little black light is just itching for me to turn it on!

  • Good morning, glassies.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... so glad to hear your Swap Meet went so well and the weather was kind to you this year! So sorry to hear about the vase. Very disappointing.

@donscns DON ... Oh, I bet it was a wonderful time! Surely hope you took pictures of all the trays and cake stands!

@jerseystar NANCY P ... well, I didn't get to make my July East Coast trip, but I'm still hoping to get out there...maybe in October.

    Good morning, GEORGE!

  • @wattleihavenext JULIE ... LOL. I thought I'd sneak out and pick up some groceries. Of course, my sister called my cell phone just as I was at the check out counter. Busted. I'm home and behaving myself now. 🙂

@donscns DON ... I know you must be having a lovely time and what a wonderful chance to see the Chihuly exhibit.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... you always take such wonderful pictures of your adventures and travels.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... speaking of pictures, what a splendid shot of the woodpeckers! Just a terrific picture!

    HI to BILL!

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Going to be stormy a bit later. Working on a new baby blanket for my West Coast grandkids.

@amber1986 AMBER ... Shelly posted twice just yesterday.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... go to Replacements, see what they are selling the pitcher for, and cut the price in half.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... nothing definite on dates, but planning around the last 2 weeks of July to be on the East Coast. Haven't decided if I will fly or drive....leaning more toward driving. I really want to get over to see the WVMAG. Wondering, too, if there might be any glassies on the trek from NE Oklahoma to Washington, DC should I decide to drive. Actually going to Clarksburg, MD.

HI to JULIE, REEN, CARL, DON, JANICE, FRAN2, and GEORGE!

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Well, we had a lovely Pot Luck at church and when it finished, I came home and slept all afternoon. Sot hot and humid and overcast, so I turned on the a/c and then slept like a baby. Would probably still be asleep but I had the a/c on energy saver and it clicked off. So much for using energy saver....next time I have it on " full blast forever". 🙂

@jerseystar NANCY P .... By George, I think you've got it! A Belmont base with a Pressed Diamond lid! I agree, I think it's a marriage for sure. @fran2 FRAN 2 ... great pics that show that pattern more clearly.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I’ve been out running a bunch of errands. Just got home and got all the groceries put up. I have church later this evening so for awhile I think I’ll hit the recliner and just enjoy the new book that was in the mail…”Lotus: Depression Glass and Fare Beyond” by Dean Six.

@dianes DIANE … take a look at my profile. I just typed in Ruby Lane Shop and the url under the ”About Me” section. Or check Marty’s @sellingthings to see how he set up all his different sites.

DIANE … I don’t know how to tell the Smith from the Wright but I believe it is NANCY P @jerseystar who collects Moon & Star and may be able to help when she checks in.

@reen REEN … how in the world do you keep up with yourself! Yikes, what a bunch of work! I’m sure it’s greatly appreciated.

@10bbg10 HELEN … so glad to see you checking in. I was just thinking about you the past couple of days and just starting to wonder if I should worry.

HI to TOADBOY, GEORGE, IRENE M, RUTH and KATIE!

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... glad you figured out what was happening. I thought I was going nuts for a second and was glad when SUE said she was seeing the same thing. It still had me scratching my head though as to why we were seeing things differently than others....never crossed my mind to scroll down past that photo. 😀

  • Good morning, glassies. I'm rushing around like mad. My sister is coming by to pick me up then we are driving a half hour to her friends house and spend the day helping him clean it all up. He's purchased a house in town and it closes today.

I've just had no time to really read the board thoroughly, much less time to be able to answer or acknowledge all. I really do apologize. I surely hope later today, I can sit down, relax, and really look at all the postings.

@jerseystar NANCYP ... I'm right on the verge of calling my son and seeing when it might work out to go to the east coast. I'm thinking some time in June or July. Sure hope we can meet up and go treasure hunting together. I need to take a pic of my finds from yesterday too...just need to find a few extra minutes to do so.

Running out the door for now and hope to catch up with all a bit later.....

  • Good morning, glassies.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... aren't you in the same town as the fellow that one the gazillion dollar lottery? I'm still using XP. I, too, went from Windows 98 to XP. My sis has Windows 7, but I'm just lazy and don't want to learn a new system until I absolutely have to. 🙂

I'm working hard this morning on photos, listings and tagging stuff to restock the malls next week. Had to take a break to go get some coca-cola and saltines for a sick friend, but need to get back to work for now. Will peek in later...

HI to AMBER, CHRIS, DON, FRAN 2, and SHELLY!

  • @dianes DIANE ... as @jerseystar NANCY P said there are scads of errors in the Edwards & Carwile books. This is what the Pattern Glass School has to say about it. http://www.patternglass.com/BkStore/bkstore.htm There is a link you can click on to see all the errors. At the bottom of that page you can click on yet another link and see all the errors in their 2nd pattern glass book.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I enjoyed watching the Market Warrior to see the different market areas they go to. But the market sellers sure ask HIGH prices and even when the warriors barter them down, the warriors still lose a ton of money. What surprises me is what the auctioneers sound like. Most sound like they are half asleep. Am I just use to Oklahoma auctioneers that go so hard and fast and furious it's almost hard to understand them...but it sure keeps the auction fever and bidding high.

@allirish123 TRACY ... looking up things and trying to ID something is the very best of fun and relaxation for me. Sorry, I couldn't locate the vase, I know I've seen it before, but I just didn't have any luck searching today.

  • HI FRAN2 and HI REEN ... glad to see someone else in the Chat Room besides me. 😀

@jerseystar NANCY P ... Do you get the tv station that has the show Market Warriors? I see they are shooting in Chantilly, VA on tonight's episode.

  • Nancy @jerseystar I hope you are feeling 100% very soon.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... so sorry to hear you have been so ill. Luckily you had the flu shot. They say if you do get the flu you are still more protected from many of the complications such as pneumonia. I'm sure you are very weak from fighting the flu and fever. Hope you continue to steadily improve. Don't push yourself too soon though.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks, I'll certainly do that tomorrow. I was really excited to find them and it will be nice to get all that wax off.

Going to say Goodnight and Sweet Dreams to all...

  • @glassusa BOB ... it looks like there were only 2 bidders...one bidder had under 100 FB and pushed the price unmercifully. Yikes! I could sell the ruby-stained Byrds items very well in my booth about 4-5 years ago but then the market for it just dried up around here. Cake stands though seems to be eternally popular and bring good prices.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... for sure I'd let you know when I hit the East Coast. Right now, I'm thinking late Spring, maybe Summer. Sure have gotten to where I don't like traveling much. Maybe it would be more fun if I had a friend to go with me, but dreary just doing it on my own.

    HI to GEORGE!

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I'm running around like a chicken with my head chopped off trying to get packed, phone and camera batteries charged, checkbook balanced, .... and have to get the dogs out to the kennel. Sister is coming over to help as Big Ginny HATES a collar and leash and thinks they are only for dragging her human around the yard. Rocky, though tiny, is feisty and thinks if the front door opens he has license to run away from home and frolic about town. Costs a fortune to kennel the twerps. The cats will be on their own for 2 1/2 days, then sister will return and check on them for the next couple of days. I set out 3 separate kitty litters for them, a wash tub of water, and a wash pan of food. Plus I bought a ton of toys to scatter about the house.

@allirish123 TRACY ... be sure and read all the new policies before listing...no text on the pics, no frames allowed on gallery pics, return policy, on and on. Gotten to be a painful process. I use Auctiva and pay 9.99 a month. I like their templates and also you can schedule your auction start times for free. But I closed my eBay store and haven't listed anything in the last month, so don't know how long I'll continue with Auctiva. I opened a ruby lane store and have no need of a template there. Best of luck!

@4931nextdoor ALICIA ... what splendid items! So sorry that I'm absolutely no help.

@mainewildrose SUE ... We are all here to learn and I for one never find additional information "belaboring"...to the contrary, I find it very helpful reinforcement and appreciate it greatly.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... you get your DD all moved into her new place only for you and her to leave it?! LOL. Maybe you both are so tired from the moving you had to take a vacation from it. 🙂

@favoritegram LAINEY ... do not know the story on your DD's son, but if prayers are welcome for strength and healing, count me in.

@reen REEN ... I can understand wanting to take a lot to auction, but would you quit selling entirely? For all the frustration, I still enjoy watching an auction or listing or item I have in booth to see if it will sell.

HI to GAILMAC, CARL, HELEN, AMBER, DON, GEORGE, and SHELLY.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  • @abzoid TOBY ... thanks for the additional information. I will make note of it and place it in the book when I receive it.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... so delighted to see you made it to Seattle! Terrific news! I know you will really enjoy your time there and you certainly deserve a rest from all the East Coast havoc you've been through.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... Hope you have a delightful trip. Will be grand if you and GEORGE can get together again too.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... so glad you were able to get out and vote. I do hope the confusion can be kept at a minimum for those effected by the storm. The news was saying that many areas people would not be required to vote at their regular polling station but would be allowed to use any polling station. Obviously that doesn't seem to be a solution in your area since they turned people away.

@reen REEN ... Super on all your bids. For the first time in years, I have absolutely nothing listed on eBay. Every time I think about listing, all I think about is how much I charge...but when some one pays that price I have to subtract Shipping and insurance cost, insertion fee, FVF on item and postage, Paypal fee on entire amount. It's just so discouraging. The item I sold on RL netted me $63.26. Had I sold it on eBay my net would only have been $46.14. Big difference. However, I also have to stop and think that I might be about to sell 5 or 10 times as much on eBay than I would on any other auction site. It's just tooo hard....

  • @panishklo MARSON ... Scroll until you see the table for html. Some of the standard html does not work on this board, but Curt has listed what can be used. I found when using his formula for font size that I had to take out the space after the colon to get it to work. http://glass.chatroomboard.com/how-to-manual

@jerseystar NANCY P ... glad to hear you are probably safe from any flooding. God bless your DD and her work. Hope all goes well with her townhome and the closing. My son's new home is now in Clarksburg, MD. Not certain if that is good, bad, or indifferent in this storm. My daughter's family are in mid-town Manhattan. I've tried calling to see if they are still there or if the evacuated. Unfortunately, I don't have her work phone and she may be at work. Will just have to wait and see.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... So glad you posted. Still worried about this evening when they are talking about high tide again. Please keep us updated.

  • Hello everyone. I don't get much chance to post lately. Life is busy. I do still try to lurk once or twice a week though.

    @dbfrogs, Happy Birthday Fran!

@wattleihavenext, Julie,Congratulations on the newest member of your family.

@okcoolwheels, Suzy. Good job. Glad to be able to chalk one up for the good guys!

@jerseystar/nancyp, Nancy, Thanks for the ruby/amberina tip. Another helpful tip added to my Glassie tips notebook.

@oklahomasong-gail, Wow! I know how good that feels. Almost inspires me to do the same...almost.

@abzoid, I love that little blue vase.

@Shelly, I'm sorry, I must have missed reading about the reason for all the new appliances and insurance people. I'm assuming there was something along the lines of a flood or fire?

  • Mac/ Tammy @mactiki Let me add my Welcome
    HI NancyP @jerseystar
Helen @10bbg10 Happy Birthday to your DS
Gail @songbreeze yep DH and Fran shared the same birthday
Hi Mim @justmim Good luck with your diet. I have been on one of the easiest diets ever, since February. All meals healthy, exceptionally delicious and very filling. LOVE IT!! Home made Thai Fishcakes with Thai dipping sauce & basic salad for lunch today. No salt added at all and it didn't need it to make it. I’m full as a goog LOL
    Julie

  • @mactiki ... Welcome to the Glass Chat. We look forward to chatting with you. If you have any questions on how this board operates, just check out the "How To Manual" tab on the upper right. We'll be glad to help in any way.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... good to see you. Has your daughter gotten all moved in successfully into her new house?

Sister is over here now. I'm getting ready to fix some supper and we will probably watch a movie.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Have been nearly 2 1/2 hrs on the phone, being transferred here, yonder, and there, being placed on hold, etc. All’s well that ends well though.

@ver2us1 JANICE & @fran2 FRAN … I was not familiar with a ”waffle set”. Very glad to learn about it and see a complete set.

@baabaamason BOB in KY … Lovely Venus Rising, isn’t it?

@jerseystar NANCY P and @newtonenterprises JIM D … so good to see you put avatars up so I feel like I’m talking to a real person! That’s one thing I’ve enjoyed on this Chat board.

@carma CARL … What kind of train and what size will you be putting on your set-up? Do you have it yet or will you be adding/building to it with trees and stuff little by little?

@reen REEN … please pass on all my hugs and good wishes to SHELLY!

HI to JULIE, SUE, AMBER, DON, HELEN, GEORGE, IRENE M, MARTY!

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... oh, little Mya is adorable!

  • Good Morning everyone Spring continues 🙂
Amber @amber1986 A few years back now we had a fad of ppl doing much the same with odd saucers and plates. Another was getting the wire plate racks so you can hang them on a wall. I had a girlfriend do a feature wall with lots of old plates that were damaged. It looked great in her Victorian era home.
NancyP @jerseystar and Lainey @favoritegram I hope you and anyone else, have a wonderful celebration!
    Julie

  • Good evening, glassies. Home from Church and just looking out my window and enjoying a lovely view. Mild evening with a delightful breeze. Cold front will be moving in and looks like all that difficult summer heat is at an end.

@amber1986 AMBER ... I've seen a Koala up close, but unless it is dead and stuffed, they are far from cuddly. 🙂 They are mean little critters.

    @fyrqueen KATIE ... the doggy's hair-cut looks grand!

@reen REEN ... hope you have a wonderful time in Philly.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... lol, I knew that was just a typo. I don't usually bother with correcting my typos because I figure people know what I'm talking about...then again, half the time I don't even see them!

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... I'm jealous as we never have such nice auctions. 🙁

HI to MARTY, DON, IRENE M, GEORGE, CARL, SUZY, & BILL

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I agree the Oval Bowl looks like MAPLE LEAF. McCain says made by Gillinder and eapgpatterns.com says maker Unknown. I don't know your leaf thing...that crackle pattern always reminds me of Tree of Life patterns.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... I'm thinking my son's house will hopefully be completed in Sept/Oct and I was planning on going there and helping them pack and move too. Gee, I hope we are both going to be around at the same time. However, I have to be here October 11 or so as I've signed up and paid for an EAPG Glass Convention in Branson, Missouri. And of course since the fire the kids don't have nearly so much stuff to move! Maybe I could fly out there after the convention. I'll surely keep you posted.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... by all means, I'd definitely be in touch with you. Have to wait and see if my son's house gets built and all goes well for them to move in. Right now his entire family is living with his cousin until either the house if finished being built or the townhouse is repaired...whichever comes first.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... will probably have to forgo buying all the glass on the East Coast as I will definitely fly this time. My trips in one year driving to the East Coast and then to the West Coast satisfied all driving cravings. No more for a long long time. 😀

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies. Been up and at it early and already to the Post Office, a fizzled yard sale, and back home again. Ready to start taking more pictures and listing.

@favoritegram LAINEY ... Why don't you send a pic to Replacements and ask them? I keep thinking Fostoria, but could find nothing in that clear/amber or with that cut. I focused for some time on #5082 with no luck and finally looked through #660. I really think it could possibly be #660 but still couldn't find anything. Of course, I could be completely off and just have tunnel vision for Fostoria. Sorry, I couldn't be of anymore help.

@amber1986 AMBER ... hope all goes well on your trip. I know your Uncle will surely appreciate your support.

@donscns DON ... hope the knee brace is continuing to give you improvement.

@gailmacphee GAIL ... I've had that difference in eBay/PayPal at least a half a dozen times. Irritating. I just had to email the Buyer, let them know the discrepancy, and wait for them to notify me which address it should be sent to.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... have fun on your weekend get-a-way!

HI to KATIE, HELEN, MARTY & GEORGE!

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... waving HI! you snuck in when I wasn't looking. 🙂

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I never got a notice but maybe that's because I have a store and Store Owners are not included in the promotion.

  • Went to Church this morning and then my friend came by afterward for a visit. We then went to the mall before I took her home. 106° today. Needless to say we only went to the one mall and both decided we would go to our homes and sit in front of our air conditioners. 🙂

@10bbg10 HELEN … I do wish I were there to help you with the profiles and then from those to put together you Master Profiles. It took me quite some time to get it figured out, but I just love using them.

@gailmacphee GAIL … I won’t get a smart phone because they cost so much and because I’m too dumb to figure out how to use…but I sure wish I had one just so I don’t get stuck overpaying. I did the same thing just a week ago. Saw my first ruby-stained King’s Crown juice glass. Got excited, bought it, came home and hit the internet…and then slapped myself in the forehead as I had paid too much!

@donscns DON … Percy is adorable! We used to have a Springer Spaniel…one smart dog, for sure.

    @jerseystar NANCY P … love the children’s sets!

HI to AMBER, MARTY, KATIE, SHELLY, GEORGE & REEN!

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... so very sorry to hear of your loss. (((((Hugs)))))

  • Good morning, glassies.

My word, I was gone from mid-morning yesterday until evening. My friend and I shopped til we dropped. I was so exhausted by the time I got home that it was all I could do to unload the car. The sacks are still sitting here on the floor by my desk as I haven't even unloaded or unwrapped the items. Bought a few fun things but nothing of any significance.

Just nearly CROAKED at BOB's stemware. Oh my word, it left me breathless! I can't imagine finding a set like that....and if I DID find it, the price would be out of sight.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... I salute you for your commitment and efforts on behalf of raising money for ALS. Thank you so very very much.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... terrific that you had such a grand time on your excursion.

HELLO to MARSON, CHRIS, FRAN2, SUZY, KATIE, TOBY, MARTY, DON, REEN, and LAURIE! 🙂

  • @jerseystar/Nancy P - thanks Nancy! As soon as Jerry brought it home, I knew I had to give it a bath, take pics, and then pack it up so I wouldn't be tempted. We've had a few pieces of Queens over the years, and I can only bring myself to keep the pieces that aren't perfect - the good ones sell for way too much for me to keep, lol. I like things that I don't have to be afraid of displaying or using. Too many grandkids in and out of the house, it's not worth worrying about things getting broken and someone feeling bad.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... ooooh, I sure don't envy you your weather. 82° here today.

  • @sellingthings MARTY ... congratulations on the nice sales!

@jerseystar NANCY P and @george gabla GEORGE ... thanks ever so much to both of you for the links and websites. I had several of those books and was delighted to add the corrections...also my corrections had been printed so long ago that I just ditched them and printed the new updated ones. Have it all done now and am very happy. Thanks again! 😀

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... where did you finally find it? I've been looking all over for it. I printed it in 2005. The link showing on the page no longer works... http://home.earthlink.net/~glasscandlestickbook/id5.html . So then I tried searching the title of the page "The Glass Candlestick Book Volume One Updates" and only got this http://home.ptd.net/~rstoer/ . What URL worked for you?

  • @donscns DON ... thanks so much for the information on the book. I've always loved stretch glass. I just went to amazon.com and just ordered it.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... oh, thank you so much for the errata sheet. I really appreciate it.

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks for the additional information. I do wish Schenning would issue an errata. Definitely he has the Garden Pink handled item captioned as a spooner. Also, he has Gaelic listed as #168 which is in error. Two of the pictures captioned Gaelic are actually Creole. The eapgpattern website lists Cane & Cosmos as the aka for Creole. Maybe there is another source somewhere to know for sure.

@reen REEN ... so glad you all had a successful day on your sale.

@sellingthings MARTY ... sorry your had a disappointing day treasure hunting. Here's hoping tomorrow will be better.

@carma CARL ... thank you for the information. I went on Shetlar's website before I posted but couldn't match it with anything. What is the name of their book?

  • @jerseystar NANCY P ... yes, that's my Maryland son. I will be going there at some point, but don't have any plans right now. This past year really wore me out with traveling. Will wait and see what works well for DS and DIL. Certainly would look forward to seeing you . Sorry to have missed you last year.

  • @reen REEN ... Love seeing the pictures! Is that a Draped Lady flower frog or a different lady? Hope you are having a great time.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... LOL. Thanks so much for reminding me that Monday is NOT an option for mailing. Our post office is only open for 1 1/2 hours tomorrow morning, so I better be sure and not miss it.

  • Hi, glassies. Had a lovely time in Chouteau! We picked up a few little treasures, but unfortunately pickin's were rather slim. Here's a pic of Suzy (right) and me (left). http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/547854528_o.jpg

@carma CARL ... I HATE that eBay would use my listing which I pay for to advertize my competition. Also this entire insane Best Match.... Are you still listed by Best Match but the competition that they are advertising, are they listed by best match or not? I HATE Best Match.

@enchantmentglass KELLI ... wow! what a sale...particular considering the crap for the most part that we saw today. Just almost nothing around this area to buy in the way of glass.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... how are feeling today? Did you see an improvement over the weekend?

@glassusa BOB ... so sorry you are having to deal with a scammer buyer.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... waving hi! I'm with you wanting that display case with all the green glass. 🙂

  • Good morning, glassies.

@reen REEN & @10bbg10 HELEN ... glad you enjoyed the coffee. 🙂 I quite enjoy the Garfield coffees...have 3, I believe, or maybe 4 different ones.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... due to furkids draped across my feet again last night, I wound up sleeping on the diagonal across my bed. Was very pleased that the bed is now big enough that I can actually change positions and comfortably so. 😀

@thrifysenior67 JAYNE ... Glad to see it's still working for you. Can always email me if you lose the address.

  • Miss P has gone home, we had a lovely day together.
Happy Hanukkah to Nancy P @jerseystar and Lainey @favoritegram !
Shelly @shellyrae37 Yes always 24 hours in a day.The longest just means the sun is out longer, longer daylight. Yes Summer has just started here and what I meant to say was this is our coldest December in 50 years.
Time for some dinner and watch the Local News. I hear there were 2 attempted child kidnappings at 2 different local shopping centres today.
    Julie

  • @justmim MIM ... I watch my sodium intake and try to stay away from things with too much sodium. I googled and found this article http://my.clevelandclinic.org/healthy_living/nutrition/hic_low-sodium_diet_guidelines.aspx and apparently there are a lot of recipes for low- to no-sodium diets that you can find online. Good luck to be able to find some that will comfortable for you.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... sure hope your cold clears quickly without developing further symptoms.

@jerseystar NANCY P & @favoritegram LAINEY & @reddogantiques PAUL ... Paul, unless they have turned off the feature, these @ signs before Nancy and Lainey's log-in ID's should send them an email and hopefully they will let you know about your
    4:27pm EST post.

  • What an evening! I sat down a couple of hours ago planning to say HI, but decided to scroll the board first. You all made me so hungry for chocolate that I had to go into the kitchen, search for a brownie mix, and stir up some brownies. Once they cooked I came back to the board, milk and brownies in hand, only to get lost in that terrific bottle auction. Thanks, ginnyrose CAROL for posting it. I’m finally coming up for air.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... also enjoyed looking at your lovelies. I love the rock crystal vase particularly.

@nona NANCY JEAN ... the Verre D'Or is just too beautiful for words. I've never seen any in person.

  • @4931nextdoor ALICIA ... what a beautiful sotry that I know you will cherish and hold in your heart forever.

@donscns DON ... for sure you had to be holding your breath to have that gorgeous bowl being sent by a brand new first-time seller.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... still waiting to see the photos of your trip!

  • @enchantmentglass KELLI ... I actually was planning on doing some auctions today, but instead I have marked the calendar to wait until the end of this 5-day period to list.

@4931nextdoor ALICIA ... what a headache! For me, it is a great advantage to be so centrally located in the U.S. Never too much variation in the calculated postage.

@justmim MIM ... I've got cookie crumbs all over my keyboard and desk, yum yum.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I have one small dog, a Shih Tzu, and one cat. How can the vacuum cleaner continually find so much pet hair about the house. Surely these animals should be naked by now. The Rogaine company should do research on how pets can grow so much hair!

@jerseystar NancyP ... waiting to see pictures of your trip and your new treasures. Always enjoy your travel pics.

@bethbarg BETH .. I guess I've always thought of Etsy as more home-made arts and crafts. I'll have to look again. Still the same tune though of not enough traffic and not wanting to go totally to fixed prices. Oh, but for someone to come and rescue the "old" eBay....
