• Hello Glassies. I do hope that everyone has been well. Been very busy with eBay and getting ready for Christmas. I do have a non glass question. I need some advice from our Glassies of the Jewish faith. I bought a nice item that I thought was a Hanukkah Menorah. But then I realized that it only had eight wells for candles....there wasn't a spot for the 9th auxillary or Shamash candle. But then I read that the Shamash candle is sometimes kept separate or set aside in more modern versions of the Hanukkah Menorah. This example is very modern, almost bordering on the Art Deco. It is brass and polished black lucite. It's about 13" tall and 15" long. I like the way the eight candle branches originate from one source, in a way symbolizing the way eights days of sacred oil were obtained from a source that should only have lasted for one day. What do you folks think? Is it a Menorah or just a modern candleholder? Many, Many, Thanks, Paul PS I hope this link works....
