  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... so glad you posted! I just saw the news on TV and immediately thought of you.

@justmim ... Always good to see you posting. SOunds like a wonderful holiday gathering.

HI to DON, BOB, and GEORGE!

Heading out to Church shortly...with an umbrella. 🙂 It's so overcast that the street lights are still on.

  • Mac/ Tammy @mactiki Let me add my Welcome
    HI NancyP @jerseystar
Helen @10bbg10 Happy Birthday to your DS
Gail @songbreeze yep DH and Fran shared the same birthday
Hi Mim @justmim Good luck with your diet. I have been on one of the easiest diets ever, since February. All meals healthy, exceptionally delicious and very filling. LOVE IT!! Home made Thai Fishcakes with Thai dipping sauce & basic salad for lunch today. No salt added at all and it didn't need it to make it. I’m full as a goog LOL
    Julie

  • @wattleihavenext JULIE ... darling photo! The 26th is Fran's b-day too.

@justmim MIM ... I know it must be hard to follow a diet that excludes salt. Wishing you the best of luck with yummy recipes.

  • Just got home from an auction. No glass to buy but got three little framed prints I wanted.

@justmim MIM ... so good to hear you checking in! Missed you! Hope all is going well for you.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... wish you the best of luck trying to spruce up your bowl. I have more pieces of glass I bought just praying that some vinegar, denture tables, toilet bowl cleaner, clorox, peroxide, bar keepers friend, soft scrub, oxyclean would help restore. Unfortunately, for the most part, it never worked. 🙂

  • @reen REEN ... gee, what was going on! That sounds just terrible. Sure hope you be able to get a good night's sleep and feel better in the morning. Oh, yeah, Julie was going to be gone for a whole month.

@justmim MIM ... So glad to see you posting as I was wondering how you were doing since we hadn't seen you here for a while.

  • Been on the go all day. Finally have a chance to sit down and actually scroll the board.

@justmim MIM ... so glad to see you are home and are posting. Hope you continue to take good care of yourself and be patient with your mending. Don't overdo.

HI to CARL, LAURIE, GEORGE, LAINEY, & KATIE

@glassusa BOB ... glad you were able to have a productive buying trip at the estate sale. May not have been all you wanted, but sounds as though you are happy with the results. Would love to see pics.

BILL, FRAN, & MARTY ... like you all (knock on wood), I've never had a problem with PayPal. I actually prefer it rather than hassle with cash and money orders and delays in being able to ship until a check or MO clears.

It's after 9:00 and I think I'll go fix a bite of supper and watch a movie and relax a bit....

  • Evening All,

Boy the days fly by, thought I was on her just the other day but wrong.

@songbreeze Gail & @wattleihavenext - Thanks for the update on Fran, glad she is fine and having fun. Congrats Gail on the 1000 Stars, I just found out I am now a Bronze Power Seller. Miss P sounds so cute. I love the glasses story, I think it would be hard to resist giving in.

@shellyrae37 - Not sure if you got an id on the green mug in the picture but it is Irish wade and you can check here to date the markings on the bottom. http://www.happywadeing.com/reference/backstampsireland.php

Funny all these off countries shipping to, I just shipped something to Cyprus. Was a bit wary at first, but figured what the heck. If it did go missing only out $15.00 that included the shipping, and it sold with shipping for $75.00. Didn't see any warnings about that.

@justmim Mim - Sorry to hear about your gout, hubby has it and Turkey, Caffeine, Shellfish a big no no. One thing he learned from his step dad who swore by it was taking black Cherry Concentrate Capsules. DH figured what the heck since he was having problems with the meds they wanted him to take. So he has been taking them for the last 6 months and knock on wood hasn't had an attack even though he is eating some of the No no items in moderation.

Now all this item is unreal and I am thinking this is what the younger Generation wants to buy. Found a set of 6 of these for $5.00 each at an antique store today.

    http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/Jpthings/SolocupCrystal.jpg

The base is a candlestick from the dollar store.

    Bear 🙂

  • Good Morning everyone, foggy here this morning but once the fog lifts I am sure its going to be a glorious day
mim @justmim I hope you are well on the road to recovery
    @george thanks
Shelly @shellyrae37 I have a set of 4 of those hollow stems. Thinking I will list as pairs instead of the set x 4.
Marty @sellingthings I don't think your bowls are Bagely Whitby. But just to be sure I checked my reference book and found nothing like them in there.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon to all. Very stormy night all night so didn't get much sleep and, as usual, slept in awfully late. I don't know why I say "awfully late" as there actually isn't anything for me to be late about. My time's my own...well, and the dog and the cat's, but they didn't seem to care what time I woke up. 🙂

@justmim MIM ... so sorry to hear of your health problems. Gout can be so excrutiating. Do they have you on a special diet? I remember being so surprised when my friend had to quit eating peas as they have such a high uric acid content in them. (((((Hugs)))) As far as your son's birthday....I've always said it's terrible when your children are older than you are! My oldest turns 49....and surely I'm not that old! 😆

HI to KATIE, GEORGE, and CARL.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... it's just a piece on the new antenna that has to be replaced. It will only cost about $10 for the new transformer part. The headache is having to wait til my sister's friend is willing to climb a big ladder to replace if for me. Heaven knows even if I could climb the ladder I wouldn't have a clue how to replace it. It's not that I'm dumb...I could learn...but I don't want to and have nothing to prove by learning how. 😀

@itsagas BILL ... you and me both trying to figure out a "preferred" from and "ordinary" second. So silly probably. Maybe just a bunch of babble to make it sound better. Kind of like when townhouse became townhome, or used became pre-owned, or our nursing home became continuing care.

@abzoid TOBY ... now I'd be more than happy to buy something for $5 and sell it for $20. Really slim pickin's in this part of the land and being able to quadruple my investment is dandy. But, yeah, have to work really hard around here for that extra buck.

HI to JIM D and NANCYJEAN.

I hear thunder in the distance. Maybe more storms today. Needless to say, can't tune in the tv for the weather report. Doesn't matter though as the tv station will phone me if there is a tornado goofing around anywhere.

  • @justmim , ah MIM, cybercoffee never runs out and is always fresh regardless of the time of day or night and is either full strength or de-caf as needed. :D.

@abzoid TOBY ... that cabinet is truly DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! my my my my my . I can hardly wait to see it will all your beautiful blue opalescent Tokyo.

@donscns DON ... Would love to see a pic of your Swag with Brackets.

Have to get ready for evening Mass. Will catch up with you all later.

  • @justmim MIM ... well, it's a long long long way to Indianapolis from Oklahoma...but I won't completely discount ever getting there again sometime. 🙂

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Look forward to seeing pics of your plates. I had to watch the Biggest Loser and Fashion show tonight. Funny to think I went a year with no TV and never missed it at all. But now that I have the TV, I have my evening favorite programs , particularly on Tuesday and Thursday that I don't want to miss. 🙂

@fran FRAN ... so glad to see you posting, but darn, I'm so sorry you are having such a plethora of health problems. You just can't seem to catch a break there. Sure hope the medicine works quickly and works well for you.

  • Good morning, glassies. Looks to be another beautiful summer day in the 80s.

@justmim MIM ... Can't quite remember where you live. Are you in Indiana? I tell you, I'm just going to HAVE to jump in my car some day and come and meet you and sit on your porch. I just LOVE you!!!

For now, got a couple of items I sold on eBay to box up and make a PO run, then home and try some more listings while it's still free for store owners. I've been quite pleased with the results. 🙂

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I've spent the whole bloomin' morning trying to hook up my Xbox Kinect. I got most of it done but still befuddled by how to be able to connect with Netflix... Will think about it later.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... our dearest dearest Shelly, having to go through so much in past couple of months and now 2 deaths in 2 days. Sending most genuine prayers and thoughts for comfort. (((((Hugs)))))

@ohiostar FENTON ... what absolutely fantastic items. Lucky lucky you!

@justmim MIM ... oh how I always enjoy sitting on your side porch and sharing coffee and cookies with you!

@jpthings BEAR ... I know I've seen that pattern before. Will see if I can locate anything on it.

  • Good morning, glassies. Up and at it this morning. Bought some new files boxes and folders yesterday and have a big mess all over the desk and floor, rearranging and purging files. Will be nice when finished. Waiting for my household helper to arrive and then we have several projects to tackle.

@justmim MIM ... delighted to join you on the side porch. Had my first little pink tulip bloom this morning. So pretty.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... I seem to only get to FB about once a week, but I'll certainly start checking it more often once you go to Bali. What fun!

  • @justmim --- I got in at PayPal at about 7:30. And just now went there again. I do hope thta you are O.K. now. Helen or bbg

  • Good day to all glassies. One of those nights last night, toss turn toss turn...last time I looked at the clock it was after 3:30 am. Looking for the morning coffee, I see it's been a busy time in the chat room. So now with coffee in hand, ah, and with @justmim MIM's cookies 🙂 I am ready to scroll.

@donscns DON ... sure hope you get a chance to enjoy some of your Spring Break, but it does sound as though you've got quite a bit on your plate already and none of it is dessert yet.

Yep, I surely agree with @abzoid TOBY and @newtonenterprises JIM D .... avoid sherbets at all cost and any stemware with a needle etch. Also I avoid most stemware with a cutting rather than an etch.

@sewerrats ... never, ever, is it a bother to bring an item to the chat room for ID. That is our whole "reason for being." It's great fun and a great learning experience for all of us. But with that said, I have no idea who made your stemware. Also that is a "cutting" not an "etching" on your stems. That type of stem is usually referred to as a "lady's leg" and is found by many manufacturers so it's a hard one to pin down.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I think you really are doing the right thinking opening a different account to link to PayPal. Photos are free on eBay but I believe it's a 10¢ fee to schedule a listing. If you have Auctiva, it is free to schedule. You will save yourself a ton of money if you use eBay to print your shipping labels and eBay's app called ShipSaver for insurance. They have a video tutorial to help you learn how http://ocs.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CustomerSupport If you take the package to the post office and it's Priority you have to pay 85¢ for Delivery Confirmation. That's free when printed on-line..or if it's 1st Class or Parcel Post it's only 19¢ when printed on-line. The postage itself is cheaper when printed on-line rather than taking it to the PO.

Still scrolling but think I'll post this before I lose it..... 🙂

  • @justmim ---Mim, You well know that what I know I learned from "eBay Listing for Dummies " by Patti Ruby and Marsha Collier.
Patti is Mim's DD and is a wonderful person who, along with Mim, I can count among my long time acquaintances and friends.
    Helen or bbg

  • Hi, glassies. We were very fortunate to have no destructive weather last night. Had quite a storm and lots of rain but no damage. Poor Branson sure got socked. It was 70° again today and tomorrow it's suppose to reach 80°!

Busy day today as it was the day to take my sick friend to the doctor and to run errands.

@justmim MIM ... you transported me right there as I watch the light create a prism ... brought a smile to my face and even relaxed me.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... oh, I do hope you have good weather. I very well remember last year when you went and were flooded.

  • Home from the tire shop with 2 new front tires. The car is very happy.

@justmim MIM … oh my, the cookies are absolutely delicious!

@shellyrae37 SHELLY … not a reproduction, Heisey made 2 styles of Fancy Loop shakers…one like yours and one with a slim neck. Here is yours…. http://www.replacements.com/webquote/HEIFAL.htm#7423929 scroll down to Shaker

  • Good morning, glassies.

@fran dbfrogs FRAN ... so sorry to hear how ill you have been all week. That's a terrible amount of weight-loss in such a short period. Eat bananas, bananas, bananas...they have lots of potassium.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... so sad to read of your friend's passing particularly when it was so unexpected. (((((Hugs)))))

@ver2us1 JANICE ... I print all my postage on-line and of course have free Delivery Confirmation on Priority, but was bowled over at the Post Office yesterday when someone asked for it and was told it cost 85¢ now!

@amber1986 AMBER ... sure hope your ankle is treating you kindly today.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... so glad they got you on a stronger medicine and you are responding well to it.

@justmim MIM ... I love a thermo cup, too, for hot and cold drinks as I am a "sipper" and it takes forever for me to finish a drink.

Yesterday's Buyer paid for their item, so I need to go wrap it up and get to the PO....

  • @justmim MIM … did you feel that rush of air that just passed you? It was me, grabbing the tin of butter cookies, and running away as fast as I can! yum yum yum….

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... fast pictures...one using the telescope, as I was too lazy to get out of my chair. 🙂 Still only on my second cup of coffee. Thanks @justmim MIM for the tangerines!

@justmim MIM .... Yes, 1000 uses for old newspaper, but now over the years that I've been collecting glass, I've come to hate it as it gets black all over everything. Also we don't have a recycling place for all that paper. Starting February 1 our daily paper began offering the paper on-line. I immediately signed up for it and I LOVE getting it on-line. It's in color which is fun. I can zoom in and so the print is larger and easier to read. The cat no longer tries to sit on it as I try to read... 😆

  • @justmim --- So happy to see your post. I was for sure going to call you early next week. Our daughters and granddaughters took over the holiday meals and open houses for all of the local family. We had only a token tree and very few decorations here at our house.

  • Good morning, glassies. So glad to know you all are actually looking at the morning coffee gifs...and enjoying them! Thanks so much!

@10bbg10 HELEN ... so sorry to hear you and DH are down with colds now.

@justmim MIM ... Thanks for sharing your donut, it's delicious, and I LOVE cake donuts!

  • @justmim Did he say you had to drink two liters or no more than two liters so that one liter may be enough liquid along with all of the other fluids in your normal food intake. The bodies chemistry doesn't care where the H2O comes from as long as it is available for the chemical reactions we need to have energy.

    george

  • @justmim If you drink 2 liters of liquid a day you won't want any other food or drink. LOL
    Helen in Indy

  • @justmim MIM ... I watch my sodium intake and try to stay away from things with too much sodium. I googled and found this article http://my.clevelandclinic.org/healthy_living/nutrition/hic_low-sodium_diet_guidelines.aspx and apparently there are a lot of recipes for low- to no-sodium diets that you can find online. Good luck to be able to find some that will comfortable for you.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... sure hope your cold clears quickly without developing further symptoms.

@jerseystar NANCY P & @favoritegram LAINEY & @reddogantiques PAUL ... Paul, unless they have turned off the feature, these @ signs before Nancy and Lainey's log-in ID's should send them an email and hopefully they will let you know about your
    4:27pm EST post.

  • Top of the morning to you all 🙂
mim @justmim Hope you are feeling much better now.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I hope your DH can kick the smoking habit.
    Bee @mytreasures99 Welcome
Janice @sunwoman3663 ((((hugs)))) to you, your DD and Maggie's family.
    Julie

  • @justmim - Mim, so sorry that you are having breathing problems ---- again.

I went to the school charity sale. It was mostly made in China stuff. I was disappointed . Don't need any more stuff anyway. Back home and have been working on listings and pictures.
DD was here with her 18 month old DGS. Neat little guy and loves pots and pans. he loves to climb . Had his first time out at nursery school this week----climbing issues. His grandpa swatted him on the bottom for similar activities. He and his grandpa both cried real tears over that. Think 'Terrible Twos'.
This sort of thing is what makes being Great-grandparents such fun.

Want to go see my former neighbor-- the one who had a stroke. Taking DH along. The two of them have a mutual adoration situation. LOL !!!
    Helen in Indy

  • @gailmacphee GAIL MAC and @fyrqueen KATIE ... I'm sorry, I don't know your stemware. This website has a lovely forum you can register for that deals mainly in Depression Glass. http://chataboutdg.com/ However, you do not have to be registered in their forum to check out their Gallery which is one of the best so far for trying to find etches . http://clicksnipwow.com/chataboutdg/

@sunwoman3663 JANICE ... so sorry you are having to deal with Lyme's disease. My granddaughter contracted it a couple of years ago. She's 14 now and doing just fine.

@justmim MIM ... So sorry to read of you having an Asthma attack and having to go the ER. So glad they got it under control and you can be at home resting. Mim, you never miss my cybercoffee because it stays fresh all day and will even morph into decaf for those who need it so. 🙂

  • @justmim MIM … Wow! talk about a trip down memory lane! Yes, we always made the sugar/cinnamon/oleo pie dough treats. We just never had a name for them. Don’t make pies much anymore, but I still make little cinnamon rolls that way using biscuit dough instead. Don’t have the patience or energy to make yeast bread cinnamon rolls.

  • @enchantmentglass KELLI ... I actually was planning on doing some auctions today, but instead I have marked the calendar to wait until the end of this 5-day period to list.

@4931nextdoor ALICIA ... what a headache! For me, it is a great advantage to be so centrally located in the U.S. Never too much variation in the calculated postage.

@justmim MIM ... I've got cookie crumbs all over my keyboard and desk, yum yum.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I have one small dog, a Shih Tzu, and one cat. How can the vacuum cleaner continually find so much pet hair about the house. Surely these animals should be naked by now. The Rogaine company should do research on how pets can grow so much hair!

@jerseystar NancyP ... waiting to see pictures of your trip and your new treasures. Always enjoy your travel pics.

@bethbarg BETH .. I guess I've always thought of Etsy as more home-made arts and crafts. I'll have to look again. Still the same tune though of not enough traffic and not wanting to go totally to fixed prices. Oh, but for someone to come and rescue the "old" eBay....

  • Good morning, @reen Reen. Where’s @justmim Mim? When she pops in she usually has the most delightful breakfast fixin’s and snacks to go with the coffee. Mim, where are you? we're all hungry! 😀

Heading out the door to WalMart to buy a table to put my new TV on. My sister and her friend, Ken, are coming over to help set it up and hopefully to install an outdoor antenna.

  • Back again for some advice. Please, please tell me that I have a wonky buyer. He says that he did not receive notice through eBay that his order had been shipped. I printed the label through eBay and added a note with the title of the item. I found the DC number in my DC folder. Just now sent that to the buyer.

@justmim --- I went to vote at 4:00 p.m. We vote at a school on Fall Creek Drive. There were several voters at the voting booths . And more cars were arriving. Edgar did not vote --- probably the first time that he has ever missed voting.

I did some of those mamma initiated robocalls. As I reminded each of my bunch to vote.

I met our neighbor as I was going in. He offered to bring Edgar in to vote. That neighbor is a fireman . Maybe he would have brought him in on a stretcher.

    Helen in Indy

  • Good morning, glassies.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... Congratulations on a super sale!

@fran FRAN ... Cleaning the garage, cleaning anything for that matter, is at the bottom of things I like to do, but oh, it's so grand once it is done. Know you will be glad and be able to enjoy the fruits of your work when it's done.

@justmim MIM ... Figments are wonderful as they are always the most fresh, ripe, and flavorful kind. Delicious!

@10bbg10 HELEN ... It's DS and wife who live in DC area expecting a baby boy mid-March. Did I miss something...what is a "barb wire" procedure? Sounds frightening. Do hope all is well.

Have errands to run. Kind of chilly and gloomy and wet from last nights rain....

  • Good morning glassies. I've been up for a while . Trying to accomplish a few chores before we leave for DH's scheduled 'barbed wire' procedure . The youngest DD will accompany us . She is a 20 year + nurse at a VA hospital so she will use that experience to do all the nurse and doctor interactions.

@wattleihavenext -- Lovely and memorable naming ceremony for your beautiful and precious Miss P.

@justmim --- Nice to finally be able to do what one wants to and when one wants to do it. Our tomatoes are all gone. And, yes, figments are calorie free.

@songbreeze -- Loved the pictures of you California DGD. Did I miss an announcement that there is to be another grand child in New York or Washington, D.C. ?

We are hoping to spend Thanksgiving with our DSs family. I think the local DGD , with her 17 month old son, will drive us to St. Louis for that event. I am so hoping to get pictures of our 3 youngest Great grandsons while they are together there .

    Helen in Indy

  • @justmim MIM ... Don/donscns has been a real rock with our Glass Chats and always so helpful. It was great to see my DGD and it's been difficult to see the grandchildren because I'm smack dab in the middle of the U.S. and my kids are on the East Coast and the West Coast.

I also posted my cup and saucer for ID on the ChatAbout site. Hoping someone either here or there can come up with an ID.

  • Good Night @justmim
    I am shutting down too
    Julie

  • Y’all probably do not know that @justmim and I are old friends. We have known each other for 20 years or more. We live only 3-4 miles from each other.
mim, I mentioned that one of the malls, Shadeland, now called Old Shadeland, had made a consignment picture gallery in the back hall. It is quite nice. I look for them to eventually allow some consignment furniture back there.
We have a dealer meeting on the first Thursday night, 6:00 – to 7:00 pm., of each month. The mall stays open until 8:00 p.m every Thursday night. Jim Williams always has some really good pizza brought in for the dealer meeting. Thought you and your DH might drop by for pizza at about 7:00 on Nov. 3. Probably a couple of dealers that you knew from back in the day. I know that Jim W. would be really pleased to see your DH. He has told me that he knew and admired your DH from their Chrysler days.

  • The sun was not supposed to shine on Indy today but there it is. I had better take pictures while I can. Those from yesterday were not so good.
@justmim When i see turtles they are always saying "Take me to mim." I even tried to pick up a live one .

  • Good morning Glassie friends,
@songbreeze , Gail I am glad to hear that your Octoberfest is over and done with. Did your church group feel that it was successful ? I hope so.

What is this Yahoo group that is being discussed?

@justmim - Our accountant , Bill Green, says 5 years for retaining tax records.Though DH still labors for weeks over the tax records , Bill is one of the best things we have come across.

Forgot that this was postal holiday . Was all ready to print address labels for the weekend book sales and a couple for eBay until DH mentioned the holiday. Glad I was thoroughly caught up with that last trip to the PO on Saturday.

    Back to work.
    Helen in Indy

  • Good morning, glassies. Had a 4 1/2 hour afternoon name yesterday. Managed to stay awake 3 hours. Went back to bed and slept another 10 hours. I believe I am now well-rested and have recovered from Oktoberfest. 🙂

@nona NANCYJEAN ... Never heard of that, and I sure wouldn't be taking some "gift card"...who the heck would be redeeming it for you. PayPal, USPS Money Order, or Personal Check after it cleared are the only things I'd accept.

@justmim MIM ... thanks for the lovely meals. I'll enjoy them thoroughly. 🙂

I need to scroll and try to catch up on all I've missed this past 3 or 4 days.....

  • @justmim : Probably best to go with the legal limit for retaining paperwork on business. The IRS requires you to produce tax & business records going back 5 years if you ever get audited. So, I keep mine for 5 years.

  • @justmim MIM ... I have a little box of stationery that says at the top "Housework makes you Ugly". 😀

  • Hi, glassies. All day running errands and working on Oktoberfest which is Saturday.

@justmim MIM ... I think bulldogs are adorable. You must take a picture of your collection and share with us.

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... Tarentum's Atlanta is one of my favorite patterns. It's either the spooner or the celery as the tumbler is straight-side not barreled. Put a spoon in it to see which it is...should be plenty of the spoon handle showing so you could pick it up. If there isn't much showing it would be the celery. The points on the "fan" almost touch the rim and the base on the spooner but there is extra plain space between the end point and the rim and the base on the celery. Your picture is turned so that I can't see the fan so well, but you can check and see.

Hi to Julie, Carol, Scott, Janice, Tony, George....

Off to bed for me. Good night to all.

  • @justmim MIM ... reminded me of the other day when sat at the computer staring out the window. A leaf was right there suspended in mid-air. Neither blowing upward on a breeze nor falling to the ground. Frozen in time and space. I had to move my head and eyes in all different directions before I could finally see the spider web that had trapped it! 😀

  • Good Morning . Our winter type weather continues.Actually feels colder then what they are saying. BUt I supose that is because of the wind.
    @shanigirl ♥♫ ♫ Happy Birthday Ruth♥ ♫ ♫
@justmim Glad the procedure is all over and done with.

  • @justmim MIM ... So glad to finally hear from you. I checked the other boards when NancyJean put out the MIA notice on you to see if you had posted there. Glad to hear the procedure is behind you. Keep us posted.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Here is your pretty stem http://www.replacements.com/webquote/FCNMADPL.htm

  • @justmim MIM ... oh how I would I hate that "nothing after midnight" order. I use to always cheat and have coffee anyway. Convinced myself that by drinking it black it didn't make a difference. ROTFLOL...how well we can lie to ourselves!

@suzy SUZY ... such lovely pretties. Can't find your #7. Will keep looking. Also, the #2 is quite often known with the AKA of Galloway.

Think I'm going to head out to Joplin and spend a good deal of the day there. Catch up with you all later.

  • Good morning, peeps.

@justmim MIM ... I LOVE gingerbread. Haven't had any in years. Wonder why that is. I guess I just don't cook much and almost never make a cake or such because there's only me here to eat it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... even though only 55 spaces show in the title the others at least will come up in a search and if you scroll over you can see the entire title. I find it helpful if I'm interested in something that I can get "the rest of the story"--meaning size or height or color or date--by just scrolling over.

@dbfrogs FRAN ... I can imagine how frustrating it is not to have your computer. But your little gifs DO show up. Just make 2 separate posts...one for the froggie and one for the coffee pot. Seems the problem arises when you try to post both of them into one posting. Don't know if that will work, but maybe it's worth a try while you are using the iPad.

  • Good morning, glassies. Got a full day planned starting with a Post Office run and then Senior Tai Chi class.

@justmim MIM ... can you post a link to a picture of your iced tea glasses and we can try to help with an ID if possible?

I've got to go get more coffee ... and maybe a couple more of Mim's donuts.

  • @justmim MIM & @fran FRAN ... glad you all are enjoying the coffee 🙂

Got this pretty tumbler the other day. Hoping someone might recognize the etch. Does this look like a needle etch or not?

  • please excuse the typos in my last post
@justmim you can’t have too much bubble wrap around a fragile item and make sure the box is a very strong box. If not, reinforce the sides with more strong cardboard. Double boxing is also a good idea. Wrap item in plenty of bubble and just use one or 2 pieces of tape to secure so it doesn’t unravel during transport. Do NOT wind heaps and heaps of tape around the item, you must allow for expansion with climate change. Place in a box big enough to allow a couple of inches free space all around and fill with peanuts so there is no room for movement of item in the box ad plenty of padding between the d=sides of the box and the item. Then place that box inside another box that is big enough to allow a couple of inches free space all around to pad for protection with peanuts. If there are multiple items make sure each item is individually wrapped and that there is not parts touching each other.

  • @justmim MIM ... Do you and Helen/10bbg10 know each other? I passed through Indianapolis last December and had a fantastic time meeting Helen and her DH and DD and overnighted there.

  • @justmim .... we look forward to seeing the pics of your glass. You certain do have a busy time ahead of you. How pleasant it must be to have a porch to sit out on. Been way too hot here all summer to sit out.

  • @justmim MIM ... thanks for keeping us posted. Yes, change can be hard, but just initially hopefully. 🙂

  • @justmim Post some pictures of your milk glass.

  • @justmim MIM ... by all means post some links to some pictures. We would be glad to help you with IDs for your items.

  • Well I am all packed don't think I can fit another thing into the van
@fyrqueen Katie the beauty of the motor home is that it is all packed inside, so I look just like a normal traveller on the road, till you open the door LOL. My reference to me feeling like Ellie Mae was with the cat and the dog following me around all the time LOL
    @jagofc Tony..we all must dream 🙂
@justmim I am always up for a party

  • @justmim ... well, I'll have to save the partying for another day because I'm going into a fit of yawning. Better go find my bed for now. I'll put the coffee on so we can have pineapple upside down cake with a big glass of milk for breakfast.

    Good night to all

  • @justmim MIM ... pineapple upside down cake is my favorite! Let's party!

  • @justmim MIM and @ktjswpa KTJ ... How nice to wake up to two new "faces". So much fun to see all the "lurkers" we never actually saw on the other board signing up. This is just super. Lurk or chat...either way we are so glad you are here.

INCREDIBLE morning to wake up to... @Dorbitz/JimL JIML ... the spell broke in the wee hours of the morning! A huge thunderstorm came. It is after 8 in the morning and so dark that car headlights are still on. The streets are WET and there's still a light drizzle. The sky is a completely overcast gray and the temp is 74°. I don't think we've even seen a night time temp that low in at least 2 months. It's forecast to only reach the low 90s today. This is beautiful!!
