• Good afternoon everyone. Hot here @ 30°Celsius Though it is pleasant enough in the shade because there is a nice breeze blowing. We are in desperate need of rain , everything is starting to brown and wilt
I have my first swapmeet for the year, coming up this weekend, so have been busy getting organised and packed for it.
Shelly @shellyrae37 My lazy day turned out to be not so lazy LOL But I only did what I wanted and for some reason I wanted to move some furniture around LOL Also had Boot Camp in the afternoon. That certainly put a stop to being lazy LOL
Gail @songbreeze Get well soon (((((Hugs)))))))
**waving madly** Helen @10bbg10 Its good to see you posting.
Marty @sellingthings Beautiful items Thanks for sharing your finds
Fran @fran2 you certainly are the Queen of Google search 🙂

    Stay warm everyone
    Julie

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... oh, Helen, it is so very good to see you posting! I've certainly missed you. I do hope everything has been going well for you all. Give us an update and don't keep yourself so scarce from the Glass Chat! 🙂 Happy to see you.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... Congratulations on the newest little one! What a pleasure. So glad to see you post. We sure have missed seeing you here. I do hope all is going well for you all. Please don't stay away so long.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... I know it's grand to have your grandbabies with you. How in the world do you manage to get 2 to sleep at the same time. I never could figure out how to do that..

  • Gracious. Got home from Church and got so sleepy that I took a nap. My sister came by and said "Come on, let's get you out of the house and take a drive and have lunch." So off we went for a nice drive and lunch. When we got home around 4:00 I went back to bed and slept till 8:00 pm! I woke up with a raging hunger for a banana split so I hopped down to Braum's and had a banana split for supper. I'm just about ready to crawl back into bed. Just waiting for time to put on the coffee.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... Good gravy, what do you mean about what you say is little interest?!? Really really miss seeing you here. Love it when you check in.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... sorry, I don't have phone number for Amber. Is she not answering her email? It's time to call out the posse for an MIA.

@reen REEN ... boring day? Your Shakers Wood Festival...was it not fun?

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I'm home from Church. Having a lovely day with most unusual mild temperatures for August. Looks like we have seen the end of 100° weather.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... thanks for the kind words. We just don't begin to see enough of you lately. What have you been up to?

HI to SHELLY, GEORGE, and LAURIE!

  • Good evening, glassies. Hope everyone's had an enjoyable day.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I've been behaving myself. 🙂 Looking for a new crochet project. After making all the grandkids' blankets, I find I can't watch tv with my hands idle!

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Oh, I know you will be so happy to get the cast off. I really hope all goes well for you on Tuesday.

Blueberries and Peaches .... sounds so wonderful that I can almost smell them!

HI to DON, GEORGE, and IRENE M!

  • @10bbg10! HELEN ... I think Fostoria's COLONY for the sugar.

Had company and phone calls off and on all day. Really tired out now.

HI to MARSON and SHELLY! Shelly, hope your wrist is healing rapidly.

  • @10bbg10! HELEN ... that's a strange looking thing. I can't quite make out what I'm seeing at that angle. Is that a hole or is it like a wee bowl within a bowl...a place to put ketchup or something?

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... I remember when I was a young girl about 12 yrs. old helping my dad re-roof our house...passing him shingles as we crawled about the roof. We had a huge hail storm that had literally beaten the tar out of the roof shingles. I remember a lot of people having to replace their roofs after that storm.

  • @10bbg10 Helen shhhhh, I'm not supposed to be buying much more glass...but it's an addiction ya know?!...lol. I still buy to resell as I have started selling again on ebay, and also still have a booth in an antique mall in town. I bought the camel? thingy to resell, if I can find out what it is, as I haven't seen one like it, and I'm sort of guessing that it may be a harder to find piece of EAPG? Hopefully? And keeping my fingers crossed it gets here in one piece first.

  • Good morning, glassies. Weather is in the high 90s all week. Yikes!

@george GEORGE ... Packing up that booth was no fun, but I'm so glad that at each of the malls that I'm in I have the same vendor number. So whenever I finally decide to unpack this mountain of bags and boxes sitting in my living room, I can divvy it up easily among the other 3 malls without having to re-tag.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... how are you feeling? Are you doing any better?

@suzy SUZY ... Very interesting piece. I can't tell what it is...mountain lion?...but I have something somewhat similar with a quail. Of course, I cannot find it and can't remember which of the 160 books I have that I was finally able to find it. Can't remember if it even had a known maker. I'll keep searching just on the off chance that yours and mine were made by same company.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I'm going on vacation...all the way to my recliner in my living room with a/c on and 2 fans! 😆 I have my tests on Monday, so maybe they will give me the green light to be more active. The medicine I'm taking seems to b working well.

    HI to JIMD and MARTY!

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... make that 3-sided dagger rather than knife...

  • Good morning, glassies.

@reen REEN … are you busy with your neighbor’s yard sale today? Hope the weather is good for you all.

@itsagas BILL … 400K listings is just ridiculous! What numbskull came up with that idea!

@wattleihavenext JULIE … sounds like a splendid birthday dinner and I know you all had a wonderful celebration.

@carma CARL … glad to hear you are getting a couple of days of decent weather. So far this week our temps have been 95, 95, 95, 94, 97…Heat index yesterday was 105. I think today we are a bit cooler….89 but with high humidity so the heat index will still be in the high 90s.

@amber1986 AMBER … great minds think alike! I spent all afternoon yesterday surfing ”free crochet patterns”. Terrific to have so much available on the internet.

@fyrqueen KATIE … Lyme’s Disease? sure sorry to hear you are ill. Hope the antibiotics take effect right away.

@10bbg10 HELEN … I slaved all day to ID the phurba! 😆 ROTFLOL 😆 Actually it took about 3 minutes. I googled ”3-sided knife” and then hit the ”IMAGES” tab… paged down one time and there they were. Now you know my secret. 🙂

@donscns DON … sounds like a wonderful time you all are having with what will be wonderful cherished memories. Hope you and GEORGE will have a chance to get together.

Well, today is my museum volunteer day. Since the museum is only 3 blocks away and is wonderfully airconditioned and absolutely quiet, it is even more restful than my house. The most work that has to be done is just me getting myself ready and presentable to go. 😀 I take my crochet and a magazine and just relax for the next four hours.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... actually I had 2 heart attacks, but that was nearly 10 years ago. But I really am going to take it easy. The hospital called and the appointment for my 2 tests is not for another 2 weeks, so I decided to wipe the calendar clean for the entire month. I'm going to take it real slow until we can figure out what's causing the runaway blood pressure and get it under control.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN .... Maybe I’ll do it and maybe I won’t. ROTFLOL!!!! Oh, how I can relate...you sound just like me!

    HI to MARSON!

  • @10bbg10 Helen merely being polite. There are also some donkey that are an insult to Bob Babe.

  • Good Morning everyone No rain but no sun either. Been sorting and working on getting stuff ready for a market this coming weekend. I won't pack any more bric a brac and collectables. Will just use what is already packed from last weekend & I'll be adding some small furniture
Gail @songbreeze. I knew immediately that my swapmeet sales would be low because I had the tin selling the same weekend LOL I seem to be destined to only make $xxx amount of dollars per month. So if I sell well on eBay I don't sell as well at the swaps & visa versa LOL If I do better then normal at a swap that I usually only do OK, then the one I do that I usually make bigger $$$ is always down that amount LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 I don't think there is one of us that has never asked ourselves "Why did I buy that" LOL
Helen @10bbg10 IreneM @jmart8248 Thanks for the congratulations on my sale
    Julie..back to work

  • Home from making my rounds up in Fairland. Bought a couple of things but need to research them

@baabaamason BOB in KY ... the plate is LONE STAR (OMN) aka SQUAT PINEAPPLE by McKee Bros. ca 1898.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... so glad to see you posting. Was about ready to form a search party!

  • Good afternoon everyone Chilly start to the day but the sun did come up and it is DDG here if you are in the sun. In the shade then its still a little chilly.
Been out all morning with my sister. We went to a market first thing and then to a restaurant for breakfast. Truffled mushrooms on sourdough for me YUM!!
Managed to buy a few bargains that hopefully I can make a decent profit. but NO GLASS
Amber @amber1986 (((((hugs))))) I hope you are all better very soon. You have been missed.
Helen @10bbg10 Hopefully 2nd time around my vase will sell. We always live in hope LOL
Gail @songbreeze Too late my EAPC has a bid.
Reen @reen Good luck at the markets
Marson @panishklo all chocolate is low calorie LOL well that's my story and I'm sticking with it LOL

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TOADBOY @fracnjan

  • Good Morning everyone. Mornings are getting cooler but days are still gorgeous.

Helen @10bbg10 Yes my citron is fluorescent .Those pics were taken in natural day light and they glowed.
Diane @dianes I am glad you like my Australian Crown Crystal glass, Yes it is old the company started in 1914 and traded till the 1960's when amalgamated with a USA company to become Crown Corning Glass. An average date for the Citron approx. 1920's. BTW Citron is just the colour name Crown Crystal used. Other colours are Rosaline (pink), Blue & Green as well as Carnival Glass.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon, glassies. All day yesterday was housecleaning. Today is balancing checkbooks and wrapping graduation presents so far.

@dianes DIANE ... the pattern is MODERN by McKee Bros., ca. 1880s

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I almost don't sell on eBay anymore. Wearing of them squeezing every penny possible out of me and offering no protection from unscrupulous buyers. I really haven't read much about the Global Shipping and for the amount of items I sell, I didn't find any advantage to offering worldwide shipping so I quit doing so.

HI to JULIE, CARL, DON, and GEORGE.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I’ve been out running a bunch of errands. Just got home and got all the groceries put up. I have church later this evening so for awhile I think I’ll hit the recliner and just enjoy the new book that was in the mail…”Lotus: Depression Glass and Fare Beyond” by Dean Six.

@dianes DIANE … take a look at my profile. I just typed in Ruby Lane Shop and the url under the ”About Me” section. Or check Marty’s @sellingthings to see how he set up all his different sites.

DIANE … I don’t know how to tell the Smith from the Wright but I believe it is NANCY P @jerseystar who collects Moon & Star and may be able to help when she checks in.

@reen REEN … how in the world do you keep up with yourself! Yikes, what a bunch of work! I’m sure it’s greatly appreciated.

@10bbg10 HELEN … so glad to see you checking in. I was just thinking about you the past couple of days and just starting to wonder if I should worry.

HI to TOADBOY, GEORGE, IRENE M, RUTH and KATIE!

  • @sellingthings MARTY … I’m not quite certain what you mean when you say you want an ID. It is as you said …Daisy and Button, Degenhart , probably 1970s. All the new vaseline…Degenhart, Boyd, Mosser glows like crazy. Shown on page 77 of TAGF’s Degenhart Glass and Paperweights. BV in 2003 for Vaseline was $12/15.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … The Steamfest sounds like great fun and very interesting. Do you attend?

@wellingtonct LAURIE … Good to see you. Hope all is well.

@dianes DIANE … Oh, I wish I could help you as that is just a gorgeous vase, but I haven’t a clue.

@carma CARL … glad to know it might be the internet and not my computer. I finally shut the computer off and went out and ran errands. Finally got back on and got my items listed.

@10bbg10 HELEN … sure been a while since you posted and was starting to worry about you. Glad to see you posting.

HI to CHRIS, GEORGE, MARSON, KATIE, FENTON, and SHELLY!

  • Good morning, glassies. Cold gray day, and DON some of that wind has already begun to reach us. We’ve had a very very mild winter and yet even though it is suppose to be Spring we have a possible snow forecast for tonight!

@carma CARL ... glad you are on the mend.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY and @10bbg10 HELEN … hope my motivation coffee this morning helps all of us today. 😆

  • @dianes DIANE ... ask as many ID's a day as you want. That's the whole purpose of the Glass Board. We chat in between just waiting for a chance to study a new posting and hopefully being able to help with an ID.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... good luck with this swap meet. Sounds like a good deal with minimal expensive and only an hour's drive.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... exactly what I'm afraid the Elliptical will become! I don't have a good track record for actually using exercise equipment. Hopefully this time I really will use it, but it has to be in my front room where I can watch tv at the same time or I can guarantee that I will NEVER use it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I must talk a good story, because, believe me, I accomplish very little most of the time. 😀 I've made a bit more headway with putting the Elliptical together, but I'm really taking my time so I don't screw it up by trying to rush through the instructions.

My friends should be here before long and off we go for catfish. About an 3/4 of an hour drive to get to the place.

  • @10bbg10 Helen - Me too on the selling bit - BH was slightly perturbed when I came home with 13 new pieces of glass. Got a handle on BV for grill plates but don't have the resources to look up the Fenton tumblers.
Does anyone have a guesstimate on the each value of these beauties??

  • Good Morning everyone. I have a very busy day ahead with all the last minute things neeeded to be done before I head off tomorrow for my 5 day trip/swapmeet
One of those chores is the dreaded lawn mowing which I will do first thing while it is still cool-ish
Shelly @shellyrae37 So sorry to hear about Terry's set backs I hope from now on in all goes well for him.
Yes sometimes down here, with the weather, there seems to be no happy medium. We sure have had everything thrown at us this summer.
Helen @10bbg10 I hope all goes well for you this arvo at the Dr's

GLASS 🙂 I have glass all over my dining table which I didn't get packed in for this coming swap. It will have to wait for the next one. I try to pack a balanced variety of items, glass, china, antique tools, old tins, bakelite radios etc. So I ended up with some glass leftover, after I picked from the glass collections, which is to go next
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. I got up early this morning all excited to see the snow from the winter storm. I expected to see a fairyland of snow. Turned out we may have gotten all of an inch. It's already melting, the roads of clear and even lots of grass showing. Should be all gone by afternoon.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... wishing you a very successful and comfortable check-up today.

Good morning to CARL and DON!

  • Good morning, glassies. Cold day but a load of sunshine to make it perky.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... So glad your DH could make it home for the weekend. And you and I must be on the save wave-length. I, too, thought I was going to see a bear when I clicked on Helen's link. 😀 I'm not familiar with Boogie Bears. And like you, I went to ChatAbout and searched through mayo sets hoping that at least the shape might turn up, but no luck.

Well, I spent my first cup of coffee balancing the check book, so I need to go get a fresh hot cup now.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... if you look over on the right-hand column there is a link "How to Post a Picture Link" that gives one all the instructions for tiny pics.

Good morning, to JULIE (stay dry), CARL (stay warm), DON (watch your muscles and back), and GEORGE (stay safe from nuclear leaks).

  • Good Morning everyone. We are in for some nasty weather , so the weather man says. Its coming from the north and heading our way.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I am so glad Terry has finally decided to quit. (((((hugs)))) to you
Helen @10bbg10 I hope you continue to improve

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHARON @sfinds

  • Good morning from cool, windy NJ (at least no precipitation). Happy Birthday to NANCY JEAN @nona & SUSAN @whodat111 -- wishing you a great day!

And sending {{hugs}} and healing thoughts to @shellyrae37 Shelly's DH.

@10bbg10 Helen, good to see you today, too. Sure wish I could send you some of my pounds -- I'd be happy to share. ;~)

  • Good Morning everyone. It is a gorgeous sunny morning but weather reports says we are in for some heavy rain and the low lying areas around our rivers and creek are expected to have flooding.
Helen @10bbg10 So sorry to read you are having health problems. Glad that things are improving for you. Take care.
    Julie

  • @10bbg10 Helen, good to see you back and hope that everything continues to work out well for you.
@songbreeze Gail, if you ever get tired of selling glass, you could always get a job as a glass appraiser at Sotheby’s. I just knew you would nail that ID for Diane.

  • Good afternoon, glassies.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... Sorry you've been having difficulties but so relieved to see you checking in. 🙂 We've surely missed you.

Just got home from taking a friend to the doctor. Long long long wait and she was in tremendous pain. Got her prescriptions all filled and hopefully she will be able to rest this afternoon.

Now I need to find something for lunch and go take a bit of a rest myself.

HI to JULIE, CARL, DON, FRAN2, GEORGE, NANCY P, and IRENE M!

  • @10bbg10 Helen, I'm glad that Gail @songbreeze reached out to you as I've been wondering where you were. I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with health issues, glad to hear problems are being worked on, and hope things will improve. I've missed seeing you on the board.

  • Quiet day in the Chat Room. I took a rest and then caught a second wind. Got 4 1/2 boxes of glassware tagged and packed for the different malls. Finally cleared all the glass off the top of the piano and the kitchen table. Everything looks so neat I have to pinch myself. Still have more than a dozen pieces to tag and pack, but decided to give it up for the night and do it tomorrow.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... I never watch football so Super Bowl will just be a fun day for me to surf the net and look for glass. I've done some crocheting but never specifically with wool yarn.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... well an esophagus dilation sounds like no fun whatsoever. Hope all is well now and you have no discomfort. Sleep sounds like a good idea until you get the anesthetic all out of your system.

  • Helen @10bbg10 The little brown ones , we call "German roaches" they are the ones that nest inside and multiply by the 100's One roach lays 100 eggs at a time and those 100 lay 100 eggs and so on. So trying to eradicate them is impossible. All we can do is slow them down here. We also have the big black ones, they live outdoors in the gardens and under the house and they do fly inside a lot, especially of a night. Not nice I hate them, but nothing I can do about it. BTW they all have wings so I would imagine all breeds of cockroaches can fly to some degree.
    Julie..off to do some housework

  • @10bbg10 Helen there are also versions by Baccarat, and Indonesian maker(Kedung??) george

  • Good morning from chilly NJ -- it's the coldest we've had this winter but not as bad as other places (22F, windchill is 7F). I've been around and reading the board -- not posting because I've either been too busy or had nothing worth saying. ;~) Weather Channel forecast for Friday includes "Potential for significant snow accumulation".

@10bbg10 Helen, thank you for posting the Inaugural poem -- it is very moving.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. 15 minutes after I woke up the phone rang and I’ve been running errands ever since for different friends. Hopefully no more calls today.

@10bbg10 HELEN … I’ve had this bookmarked ever since @abzoid TOBY wrote this article. Scroll down and you will see where it says ”Here is a chart”. Click on that link. http://www.ecommercebytes.com/cab/abu/y202/m11/abu0083/s07/ I even printed it out and carry it with me when shopping.

HI to REEN, JULIE, CARL, DON, and GEORGE!

  • Good Morning everyone. The respite for the heat wave continues and it is only suppose to reach 26°C today. But tomorrow the mercury will be climbing again.
Helen @10bbg10 Congratulations on your new great GS
Katie @fyrqueen Good luck to Jonathan
Bob @baabaamason I too am always in awe when patterns like that get ID’ed so quickly. My eyes just glaze over, they all look the same to me
    @sewerrats http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Bartending/Drinkware/Glassware

  • Good day, glassies. Slept til nearly 11:00 this morning. I'm just into my "winter" mode and there isn't much I can do about it. I'll wake up in March.

@fyrqueen KATIE and @amber1986 AMBER ... I use Suave shampoo...have "Refreshing Waterfall Mist" right now. The only time I used a different shampoo was years ago when Vidal Sasoon had a shampoo that smelled like almonds. I just loved the smell so that was the only reason I bought it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... Congratulations on the new GGS! Welcome to the world, Jack!

HI to DON, GEORGE, IRENE M, and SHELLY!

  • Good morning, glassies.

@suzy SUZY .... My condolences for your Grandma's passing. (((((Dear Suzy)))))

@10bbg10 HELEN ... yes, it is a compote lid. The butter dish lid is much more "roundy".

    HI to DON and JULIE!

  • @10bbg10 Helen - Nope !!! Like I told a close friend: I sell glassware - I don't give it away. Those prices were ridiculous.

  • @10bbg10 Helen - I also have an Anchor Hocking Manhattan relish dish with Ruby inserts & center bowl. Apparently, nobody wants them anymore.

  • Good morning, glassies. I'm slow slow slow today. Cloudy overcast day with rain forecast. Haven't figured out what I plan for the day....will just sit here and vegetate a while longer. 🙂

@10bbg10 HELEN ... hot chocolate is grand. I should just say Hot Beverage rather coffee as often it is cocoa or tea!

HELLO to ALL glassies ... http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/637281427_o.gif

  • @10bbg10 Helen...You mentioned that you had email problems last night. Are you using MSN or Hotmail, because they have been up and mostly down since Sunday. I use them for my eBay and PP and was going crazy wondering how I would fix it myself. After a long time of Googling, I found out it was their fault.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... CAD is Covered Animal Dish....hens on nest and rabbits and boar heads, etc.

I found this for Irish Hops...is this your Eiffel tower? http://www.etsy.com/listing/108649650/eiffel-tower-decanter-eiffel-tower-glass

  • Helen @10bbg10 It is very red hot here and the hot gusty westerly winds have picked making it worse. NOT good if there is a fire anywhere. That hot wind gets behind it and it will be a catastrophe before the fire fighters get a chance to get to it. ATM it is 37°C here at 12 midday In reality it is only 11a.m (we do daylight savings here) It is not going to be nice 🙁 I feel so sorry for the ones that have already been through the fires and lost everything. And the poor animals, sheep and cattle that were caught. So horrible.
    Julie

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... you are a dear! Just too much traveling for me this year. And if I do make another trip it just has to be to get to the East Coast and see my little grandson. He will be 1 in February and I haven't even seen him yet. 🙁 Again, outside of winning the lottery, I won't be able to attend, but thought since you were so near you might have an interest in seeing it.

  • Good morning/good afternoon glassies. Someone called me on the phone at 10:20 and woke me out of the middle of a wonderful dream. Too groggy to reach for the phone and find out who it was, but I decided I was overdue to start the day so I got up anyway. Sitting here with first cup of coffee still in hand.

@reen REEN ... So very delighted to see you back! I haven't scrolled yet but do hope you had a wonderful holiday. We surely missed you.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... so sorry to hear you and your DH have been so ill. I, too, had my flu shot very early...I believe October. The flu season started here very early. Whenever I've had any kind of shot...flu, cholera, typhoid...if I get a reaction to it...I figure I'm really lucky as the shot had to provide me with some protection and without the shot I probably would have gotten a worse case. Of course, the flu shot can't protect us from all the different strains of flu, but I still think it is grand to have it. We get our flu shots at WalMart.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... The Early American Pattern Glass Society is having their big national convention in Indianapolis in April. If I win the lottery I might go. 🙂 Sure hate to miss it, but I'm just not up to driving again and finding someone to watch all the furkids, etc. http://www.eapgs.org/EAPGS/top/annualconvention.htm#top

@amber1986 AMBER ... so very glad you got good results for the doggy. What kind of dog is it? Don't be too frustrated with animal organizations. If the dog is comfortably sheltered and fed, there is nothing they can do for emotional stress. Just as with children, some parents are too strict...some are too lenient, but that's quite a subjective call. One thought was if the animal orginizations couldn't step in, then perhaps the police could for the noise. However, you seem to have it all worked out and well deserve a big pat on the back.

    HI to DON and GEORGE!

  • Good morning, glassies. So glad to be home. All my furkids are all around me, and I got the coffee brewing.

@carma CARL ... I know you are well prepared for the snow and temperatures, but I just can't fathom that kind of weather. I've never seen that movie, but Peter Sellers has always been one of my favorites. I will have to see if they have it on Netflix.

@wattleihavenext JULIE .... and a very Happy New Year to you also. So how is 2013 so far? Are we going to find it a good year? 😀

@10bbg10 HELEN ... if your good friends from Lake Village are Italian then I'm probably related to them. LOL.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... Yes, the Duggars live in Tontitown and have 19 children. God bless them.

I guess the Post Office is open today???? I hope so. I've got three packages I have to wrap and get mailed.

  • @fyrqueen KATIE and @10bbg10 HELEN ... Hi, there! I was way down in the SE corner of Arkansas, a small town called Lake Village which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Greenville, Mississipi. Someone who can drive fast and never stop can make the trip probably in 7 or 8 hours. Me...well, I don't drive fast and I have to get out and walk every couple of hours or my bones will lock up. 🙂 Also had to stop at an antique store in Pine Bluff on my way down and another antique store in Tontitown on my way back. 😀

  • Good afternoon everyone. Hot outside by now so inside I come.
Amber @amber1986 Oh I would have gladly shared the choccies with you too. The more I share with, the less I have to eat and the quicker they are gone out of my sight LOL. I am a chocoholic and can not have chocolates in the house
Helen @10bbg10 I am glad you are feeling better abd getting back to routine.

re parting with things that belonged to our loved ones. Yes it is very hard As you all know I have been slowly selling off Dh's collections. It does get easier but it still breaks my heart everytime I decide what's
next to go. But I have to be realistic and it is what DH wanted. That was one of the reasons he collected, for our retirement to travel about and sell to supplement the income. So I am doing that dream.
    Julie

  • @10bbg10 : Helen, I wouldn't have known about it, but I was site cruising yesterday. I happened to go to Ruby Plaza and saw the notice.

    Janice

  • Just got home from making a day of it. Went down to Chouteau to do some treasure hunting. Found a couple of things at the shops I went to, but the pickin's were really slim.

Thanks to each of you for the nice words about my booth. I wish I had the knack that a lot of people have to make a booth look all beautiful like an interior decorator designed it, but that's just not my forte. Plain plastic shelving from WalMart is the best I can do. 🙂

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I'm sorry you still are suffering with your back problem, but it sure is good to see you checking in. Hope they can manage some course of action soon for you to help relieve the pain.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... thanks for the info on the little mustard. I went searching for mine to check the lid, but dang if I know where I put it!

HI to SUZY, AMBER, DON CARL, JIM L, BOB in KY, IRENE M, GEORGE, JULIE, and MARSON!

Off to fix some supper and unpack the stuff I bought....

  • Good morning, glassies.

@10bbg10 HELEN .... I'm so sorry you are still feeling poorly. I do hope they find the cause quickly and can do something to give you relief.

Good morning DON, CARL, and GEORGE!

  • Good Morning everyone, very gloomy here. We are getting a little rain, but not much, It's just over cast & dark But at least it keeps the sun away and temps are nice and pleasant.
Helen @10bbg10 & Shelly @shellyrae37 I hope you both get relief from your back problems very soon. (((hugs)))
Gail @songbreeze WTG goodonya!! Glad you got the bookshelf up & running. Now would you like to come on down and get me motivated with redecorating this house
    Julie

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... oh thanks so much for checking in. So sorry you are having back pain but glad you have positions that can offer you comfort. Hope it gets itself sorted out soon.

@panishklo MARSON ... hot chocolate sounds like a splendid idea. I'm very tired and sleepy and will go to bed soon, but I think a cup of cocoa sounds like just the trick for a good night's sleep. 🙂

  • Your right, IRENE M @jmart8248, it's been since Monday when we last heard from HELEN @10bbg10 . Hope she's just been busy selling stuff for the Holidays. Her store is still up. Do hope she checks in soon.

    HI to MARSON and KATIE!

  • @10bbg10 : Helen, if I were to count all the different styles and variations of bowls shown in my Folk Art Reference Guide, there would be over 40 different ones. There are 5 different cereal bowls alone, depending on size and style, or if the pattern is on the outside of the bowl or inside. Depending on when the bowls were produced, measurements can vary on plates and bowls. THats one reason measurements are important in listings.

    Janice

  • @10bbg10 :I is also called a basket bowl. Either term is correct. It was made in a couple of sizes so be sure to include measurements when listing.

    Janice

  • @10bbg10 : That bowl style is called a "napkin bowl" and came out in the mid 90's. It's just one of a variety of bowls made in the Folk Art pattern.

  • @10bbg10 : Helen...the pattern name for your Pfaltzgraff bowl is Folk Art. One of several patterns I happen to collect.

    Janice

  • @10bbg10 : Helen, the liquid in a snow globe is usually just distilled water, so it would not be considered hazardous. You would have to declare that your item has water in it.

To see USPS mailing restrictions and a list of hazardous materials that can not be shipped USPS , go here:

  • Good Morning everyone. Had breakfast out with my sister
It is Officially our first day of summer here today. Yesterday was brutal,The heat over whelming. We did get an evening thunderstorm and rain but it did nothing to cool things down. Today is predicted to be even hotter then yesterday 🙁
Marty @sellingthings speaking from experience Be very cautious about getting anything BEAGLE. Very very very naughty , adorable and OH so loving but very very naughty. They remain in the puppy stage all of their life. It takes a very special kind of person to be able to cope with a beagle . Ask anyone that's ever owned one LOL. Some of the members here will remember my daily posts on the old eBay GB, when we were babysitting my DD's Beagle. Never a dull moment LOL
Gail @songbreeze your neighbourhood, where you grew up with everyone having a dog, was the same as mine and we fed them the same way too 🙂 Our dogs down here though never required Rabies shots, we don't have that here.
Helen @10bbg10 I can't help you with your shipping query
Julie..A/C on a all prepared to stay indoors for the day

  • Been busy all day listing stuff. It takes me so long. Don't know how some people manage to get double-digit numbers of things listed in a day. 3 or 4 is a big deal for me.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I went to usps.com and didn't come up with any answers there either. .. frustrating. 5 lb. would cost an arm and a leg.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... It would be grand if it ONLY said To My Dear Wife...however, this has got Fannie and Charlie on it too. I'm going to put it up for auction on eBay and if it doesn't sell then I'll just move it over to Ruby Lane.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I thought it was just the sweetest thing...wouldn't it be terrific if I could actually find a Fannie and Charlie!

    Bragging time.....
This is my dear sweet granddaughter than I just spent Thanksgiving with in California. She's 22 months old and her name is Ava.

  • Good Evening Glassies...

    @10bbg10 Helen...This might answer your question: https://www.vintagefrompaul.com/Guide_to_Kings_Crown.html

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... actually I agree with you. I've put things up on eBay for auction that didn't sell, then placed them in my eBay store for a higher price and had them sell. I'm just talking about trying to barter with one person at a time...no reason to start too low. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the landmark! 😆

  • @10bbg10 Helen and @songbreeze Gail yes it really is beautiful and BIG! But yes Helen, it did come apart, in two pieces, so that made it much easier to move, but....uhhhh...NOT easy, as it was quite heavy. Funny thing about it is I had been at the auction 2 weeks previous when that piece sold, and I so wanted to bid on it, but it went too high. So when I saw it STILL at the auction house two weeks later, I just assumed they hadn't picked it up yet, but it turned out they changed their minds, as they said it was too big to fit where they wanted it, so when it went back up for auction, I could NOT sit on my hands like I probably should have (or BF wished I had 😉 and I ended up getting it for a bit less than the last guy...woo hoo! I have a somewhat outrageously high price on it because, truth be told, I really am not in a hurry to sell it...I really love it! My friend and I polished that thing for at least an hour last week, and had to move quite a bit of stuff around in the booth to accomodate the behemoth, so now I have some hard labor into it as well, and I do not come cheap!...lol. Honestly, I would love it in my house, but there is absolutely NOwhere to fit it (as Gail can attest to) and it also isn't a very good display cabinet for glass.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... so glad you posted! I just saw the news on TV and immediately thought of you.

@justmim ... Always good to see you posting. SOunds like a wonderful holiday gathering.

HI to DON, BOB, and GEORGE!

Heading out to Church shortly...with an umbrella. 🙂 It's so overcast that the street lights are still on.

  • Good Morning everyone.
Amber @amber1986 Yes Miss P & I have lots of fun together. I always have music going here, so we sing and dance around the place like idiots LOL Oh and I have taught her some knew phrases..so cute one being "Peace man" while doing the peace signs with her fingers LOL
Helen @10bbg10 I looked again at Gails RL and I still do not get what you get. Maybe it is like Don says a tracking thingame bob that you need to clean out of your computer.
Marty @sellingthings WTG on your first sale on RL 🙂
    Julie

  • Good morning, glassies. Sure enjoyed that extra hour of sleep. Cold morning, but sun is shining and we will be in for a lovely day in the 60s.

@amber1986 AMBER ... Here is my shop http://www.rubylane.com/shop/gailsglassgalleryandtiques if the slideshow feature is on and bothers you, look right above the main picture on the right hand side. You will see a little quotation mark. Hover over it and you can click and stop it...it will turn into an arrow. Then if you want it to go back to the slide show, hover over the arrow and change it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... So odd. If I click on one of my items, the only thing I see at the bottom of my page is "Other items from Gail's Glass Gallery and Tiques you may be interested in:" with pictures of my items. I sure don't like the idea of something linking to similar eBay auctions. Puzzlement....

HI to SUZY, REEN, GAIL MAC, FRAN2, & DON!

  • Good Afternoon everyone. I have Miss P for the day, I think Mummy & Daddy needed a break 😉
Gail @songbreeze Congrats on such an early sale WTG!!
Helen @10bbg10 I don't see any pop ups on Gails RL site
Shelly @shellyrae37 Thanks for updating us about Amber
Amber @amber1986 Glad you are safe
Reen @reen more (((hugs))) for you. Time will heal
    Julie

  • Oh my word, what a beautiful day it has been today. 65° and just perfect. I headed out and visited several surrounding towns and stopped at seven different malls/flea markets. Spent the entire day on the road and it was just lovely.

@mary cxgirl MARY ... thanks for the encouragement on my RL store. It's a bit more convaluted in the selling what with purchase orders etc. but well worth it not to have to jack my prices up to include "free" shipping. And not only not having to pay FVF on the item, but not having to pay it on the shipping too!

@10bbg10 HELEN ... hmmmmm, I don't know what pop-ups you were seeing on that site. I don't like pop-ups either.

@reen REEN .... teehee, yes I've been to a ton of places, is it any wonder I'm tired all the time? Still recuperating from all the travel... 🙂

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... thanks so much for letting us know that AMBER is ok. I only list items I have right here in the house as when I go to write the descriptions I have to have the item in my hand to take the measurements and check for any flaws. Now my fear is just the reverse....forget I have it listed and take it to one of the malls!. 😮

@amber1986 AMBER ... well, as I scroll up the board, I see your post. So very glad that power is back up and you are well.

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... so sorry that I'm just no help on art glass and crackle glass. Hopefully someone will show up soon who can help. Lovely pieces.

HI to DON, KATIE, GEORGE, MARTY, and IRENE M.

  • @favoritegram LAINEY … You are able to see my RL shop? I thought only I could see it until it passed review which they said could take until Thursday. I haven’t heard anything back from them yet.

@10bbg10 HELEN … glad you took some time off to rest a bit. You just go like a house afire…you’ve 10 times more energy than me.

@wattleihavenext … don’t these non-paying bidders just make you want to grind your teeth. Hopefully they will truly pay and maybe something has just held them up temporarily.

  • Good morning, glassies. Up a bit earlier than I planned to be. Got a scam telemarketing call that woke me up.

@kasi KASI ... Hi, good to see you. I've been following your stem cell therapy on FB. So glad that it has resulted in such dramatic improvement and I surely hope you can get the ok to continue the treatment.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I'm so glad CARL ID'd your bowl. I have never seen that pattern before...neither in person or in a book. Lovely pattern.

HI to DON, GEORGE, and CARL!

  • Good afternoon everyone. Hot and windy outside, but nice inside. Miss P is napping after a big morning at Gymberoo with Grandma. She is still all excited about her new baby brother. She just wants to cuddle & kiss him all the time, so I am sure Mummy & Daddy sighed a big sigh of relief when her & I walked out the door this morning LOL
Helen @10bbg10 here is another site that may help http://opensalts.info/
Carl @carma Glad you came out of it alright. I too am concerned about NancyP I saw New Jersey on the TV last night. I have been to Nancy’s home And I thought to myself, that looks like Nancy’s house/street, But I know there are a lot of homes there in that same style, so I am hoping it wasn’t.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone.Checking in to see how everyone in the path of Sandy has held up. Please Take Care. I have been listening to the reports on the radio. I hope NancyP was not affected by the burst dam in New Jersey

Thanks everyone for the nice comment about my grandson Helen @10bbg10 his name is Darcy Blake
Marson @panishklo I will see the little darling this afternoon and will pass on that kiss & cuddle 🙂
    Julie

  • Mac/ Tammy @mactiki Let me add my Welcome
    HI NancyP @jerseystar
Helen @10bbg10 Happy Birthday to your DS
Gail @songbreeze yep DH and Fran shared the same birthday
Hi Mim @justmim Good luck with your diet. I have been on one of the easiest diets ever, since February. All meals healthy, exceptionally delicious and very filling. LOVE IT!! Home made Thai Fishcakes with Thai dipping sauce & basic salad for lunch today. No salt added at all and it didn't need it to make it. I’m full as a goog LOL
    Julie

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... don't know anything about Orrefors but did have this website marked http://abel.home.xs4all.nl/Ofdecode.html . Didn't know if you had the full name of the signer

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... I finally got up just enough energy to make it to the mall here in town and add a few items. 🙂 Maybe tomorrow I can get myself over to Fairland.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... so glad you are able to begin replacing your appliances. It sure must feel good.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... such a disappointment and irritation combined when someone doesn't pay. grrrrr. Sorry you have to deal with it.

I did get laundry done today, and now I'm off to get into bed with freshly washed sheets and blankets. Always a good feeling. Good night to all Glassies!

  • @fran2 FRAN2 ... Your link was fine as all I had to do was just click on the left hand column where it said decanters and stoppers. I have no stoppers with a large enough diameter to fit a decanter.

    @10bbg10 HELEN ... sorry, but I'm clueless. 🙁

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... glad to hear you aren't caught in that half.com business.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I checked my invoice and it was $10 less than I had said. The batter for my 2009 Dodge Caliber was $138.68, labor $78.00, and tax 13.18....so it was only $229.86. Still...would rather be buying glass with that money. 🙂

  • Good morning, glassies. Turned out that it was NOT the starter but the battery that was bad. Still expensive though...nearly $240 for part, labor, and tax. Eek! The car is back in the driveway and quite happy though. Will spend the day packing and going to the bank and picking up a few items (cookies & snacks) 🙂 to take with me.

@ohliz LIZ ... such a beautiful piece of Carnival Glass!

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... glad the weather is being kind for you because I know how much you enjoy your morning swim.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... was ready eCommerceBytes the other day and they were talking about how the search has changed and half.com items are being effected. Don't you list your books on half.com among other places?

Good morning to DON, SHELLY, and GEORGE!

  • @10bbg10 Helen only if your cane does not have 4 feet then it is ????

  • @10bbg10 HELEN ... LOL. Better get to GW faaaasssstttt! 🙂

    HI, DON!

Headed out to Church for now. Hope everyone has a lovely day. See you later...

  • Good morning, glassies. Another cool pleasant morning to wake up to. Lovin' it.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like a perfect weekend, daytime pleasant and evening with a chill and a campfire, family, and friends. Perfect1

@amber1986 AMBER ... sounds like a cute idea for a frame.

    @10bbg10 HELEN ... good luck on finding a cover-up for your mannequin's backside! 😀

  • @fyrqueen KATIE ... granted the cream & sugar are pretty...Paden City? but the gold looked worn. Just not worth driving all the way to Adair and back for just the possibility of the getting the one item. Also having to wait and wade through all the junk until it came up for bids.

@10bbg10 HELEN... Oh, sure I remember pink quite well. Should have seen my lovely pink felt skirt with the black poodle on it. I'm glad I stayed home tonight as it's getting dark earlier and with the rain I find it very hard to drive a night. Don't get to too many auctions once summer is over.

  • Good evening, glassies. Hrumph...that's all I have to say about this day.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I wrote a post to you this morning about this Estate Sale and now I come back and I don't see it anywhere!!!!! I HATE when that happens. The lady's whose stuff it is is just cheap and won't hire an Estate Sale Manager because they take 40%. She has a friend doing it for a lot less. The friend loves doing yard sales so she thinks she qualified to do this Estate Sale.....

Anyway, it started out that the friend locked herself out of the house and we wound up getting started 3 hours late!....it was downhill from there on....

I stopped at the store and bought myself a nice steak and I'm going to go fry that up, nuke a potato and sit down and watch my Sherlock Holmes tv series. 🙂

  • Amber @amber1986 it is a DDG spot. Actually all our coastline all the way on the East Coast is DDG. Our beaches rate very highly in the world.
Where I am going is only 2 hours north of me and where I spent a lot of time as a child during holidays because my Grandfather lived up there with his property right on one of the Lakes. It was not populated back then and only a few dirt roads to get to anywhere. My Mum lives near there now too so I'll be calling in to visit her on the way.
Helen @10bbg10 re Koala Bear. These days with all the polically correct mumbo jumbo we are not allowed to call them bears anymore, because they are not Bears LOL But for me old habits die hard and I find myself calling them Koala Bears often, to be corrected by someone LOL
    Julie saying Hooroo

  • Good Morning everyone. I am heading off up the coast for a few days just to relax and take it easy
Amber @amber1986 Well they say the Koala is always stoned from eating all those eucalyptus leaves thats why they appear docile LOL They are a nocturnal animal & sleep up to 19 hours per day.So when us humans spot them up in the trees they would be sleeping.( probably with a hangover LOL) But they don't take too kindly to be disturbed and they have extremely sharp claws they use for climbing trees. Not something you want taking swipes at you.
Helen @10bbg10 I hope you are all 100% better now after your dental work.
Katie @fyrqueen I am glad your friend is not in any pain
Bob @baabaamason Good Luck at the auction I hope you find some fabulous glass treasures 🙂
    Julie

  • @reen REEN ... The hats are so interesting. I'll love to watch them when you get them listed. What fun!

@donscns DON ... ROTFLOL @ you helping Bob in KY downsize, yeah, right!

@10bbg10 HELEN ... Hope your DH got some remedy or relief from the doctor's visit.

@ver2us1 JANICE ... good to see you...it's been a while. Hope all is well.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sorry your last swap meet was a bit of a bust. Anymore scheduled soon?

@mary MARYMELODEE ... today's eCommerce AuctionByte had people commenting on the crazy eBay search.

  • @10bbg10 HELEN... they are in correct order. That person with the shoulder length brown hair next to JULIE is NANCY S/nls1964. Susu is indeed the fourth person from the left with the short blond hair in the blue shirt.

  • Helen @10bbg10 I think Miss P may end being an asthmatic like her mummy was, especially when its windy Spring time, blowing all that pollen around.Dear little thing has a runny nose and is a bit "rattley" on the chest. Nothing too serious as yet, just enough to make her clingy and feeling a little out of sorts.

Tomorrow morning I am off to another swap meet for the weekend and I am remembering the weather last year was horrendous.I ended up with a migraine having to sit out in all that wind 🙁 I hope it dies down before I get there.
    Julie

  • Good morning/afternoon, glassies.

I do ALL my shipping from eBay...even the Regional A & B boxes. Haven't seen them set up yet for the new Regional C box. Even though USPS site says you can't do certain ways, you still can do it from eBAY and, as Shelly said, do it at a reduced price and with the reduced price Delivery Confirmation on Parcel Post and 1st Class.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... sorry you are still having grief from the selling mix-up. Hope eBay won't let those extra buyers leave FB.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. Went to Church yesterday morning and hied out right after Mass for Joplin. Got 2 boxes of stuff restocked and then came back through Fairland and got 2 boxes of stuff restocked there before it closed. Pretty washed out by the time I got home, fed all the furkids, and finally fed myself. 🙂

Hot day today, 105°. I went to the local place and got myself a couple of bar-b-que ribs and some potato salad and came home, sat in front of the a/c, and had myself a picnic. 😀 Spent the afternoon taking photos (not glass) and getting listings scheduled for tonight.

I bought several salt shakers yesterday so I've been going through my books trying to find IDs. Finally got tired of looking so thought I'd take a break. Going to go fix a nice little cup of decaf and relax.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... So sorry it gives you a hard time to visit your friend. I always think that if it were me that was ill, I'd be so happy anytime someone came to visit, that it makes me happy to think I might be making them happy. hmmmm. long sentence and don't know if it made sense.

@donscns DON ... hope you are just enjoying a nice relaxing day.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... sounds like a nightmare that 4 or 5 listings popped up. Sure glad you were able to get it sorted out. Makes me shudder to think of it!

@reen REEN ... Bravo, for being able to get your listings figured out to put on your profile! I print my postage all from eBay. I only use regular paper...the pre-gummed labels are way too dang expensive.

@george GEORGE ... I mainly use eBay, but like you, I too often use USPS Click n Ship.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Amberina S&C are reproductions of an EAPG pattern called TEXAS, U.S. Glass #15067. Can't think off-hand who repro'd it. I'll check.
