@carma Carma, that sounds yummy!!

All the way up to 23F here in NJ -- but there's this funny white stuff falling down (and sticking). Should be an interesting eveining -- snow changing to sleet/freezing rain -- and then tomorrow into the 50s and all rain. DH is flying to FL tomorrow morning to visit a friend in Boca. His flight is at 6 am so he's already settled into a hotel right by the airport -- doesn't have to worry about getting there (or about waking me up at 4 am when he was going to leave the house). Now he just has to hope the plane he'll be on tomorrow makes it back to the airport tonight.

@capecodlady Janice, Happy Birthday!! (And Shelly (@shellyrae37), both of the birthdays listed are the same Janice!)

@mainewildrose Sue, what an adorable baby!! Definitely better than candy.

Big hi to everyone else who's posted!!

Shelly @shellyrae37 Cancer seems to touch so many lives. It really does make me sad that so many ppl have to suffer. It is such a cruel disease. My friend is in unbearable pain and has been in hospice for a few weeks now. They are trying, without any success to manage his pain. Makes me want to cry. I know the pain and suffering my poor DH went through. Breaks my heart to know others are going through it.
Sue @mainewildrose My reference's says it came in flint, pearline and blue and was produced in 1891. No mine doesn't have the registry mark and I did wonder if another company may have copied it but couldn't find any reference to that. The milk glass is a "thick" MG not the "washy" type with the fire that you would see on very early items (hope that makes sense LOL) So I was also thinking that Davidson must have done the MG much later. I have just looked closely to see if I could see any Fenton mark but nothing. The mystery continues. But I think maybe you could be right and its a Fenton copy.I just need to find some concrete evidence Thanks for your help

We had t'storms come through here in NJ as well with a lot of rain. While I'll admit to sticking a mini-flashlight in pocket just in case, we've had worse. Our town made a good move early this afternoon and postponed tonight's fireworks until next Wed. (their previously announced rain date). More t'storms for tomorrow and then we wait and see how much rain we get on Friday. Looks like the parade I usually go to for 4th of July will be rained out. We'll see what happens with fireworks for Friday night.

It looks to me like yours are staind not an applied ribbon of glass. To make theirs a punty rod would have been attached and likely the hobbs were ground off. Tom shows both bottoms on page 91 of their Hobbs book. I would not worry.

@itsagas, Bill -- here are some more photos, including several of the bottom. The little vase is about 4-1/2" tall and about 2" diameter. As you will see from the photos of the bottom, it does have an "owie" -- a chip in the ruffled bottom (but it was only $5). https://picasaweb.google.com/write4unj/BurmeseVase032114?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCJ-k882Wt6fAwQE&feat=directlink

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like a really super kind of day! How much fun! Would love to see a pic of your stemware.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I was trying to convert my documents to my new Windows 8. All is well now on that account. Still so much yet to learn and, most of all, to try to REMEMBER!

@sfinds SHARON ... gee, don't know how I missed why you are having to go to the Chiropractor. Do you have to go much longer? Sure hope all is progressing well for you.

@mainewildrose SUE ... Interesting about the alt codes. None of the alt codes I always used before will work on this new computer. Isn't that strange? I always used alt+268 for degrees, alt+14 for music notes, and alt+3 for hearts. None of that works for me anymore. I'm thinking it may be that I know longer have the second number pad off to the right of my keyboard. I just have the standard numbers at the top of the keyboard and it won't work with them. bummer

HI to DON, CARL, GEORGE, and JIM D!

@jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks for the sweet words about my crochet. Wondering how the weather is treating you all. The rain and sleet are headed out and leaving a thick layer of ice everywhere. Church was canceled for the first time ever that I've known. Well, the priest will still say Mass but the requirement to attend is lifted due to the weather and road conditions. If it's not windy, I'll walk to Church as it's just 2 1/2 blocks from my house.

@mainewildrose SUE ... oh your decorations are just WONDERFUL! I can only imagine how super it will be to have all of your family together for Christmas.

I looked in Reilly & Jenks and in David Peterson's "Vaseline Glass: Canary to Contemporary" and none of the Pressed Diamond pieces shown have a bottom that looks like this. The lid, however, looks just like the butter dish and covered compote cover. Looking in those books at Belmont 100, the bottom does look like that pattern. So maybe someone put the lid from Pressed Diamond with the bottom from Belmont 100?

And, Bob, just remind me when you put it up on the 'Bay (it would look nice in my vaseline collection, even if it does have some damage and is a marriage.)

Good morning, glassies. Been busy as this week I have to make my round to the malls so I've been tagging stuff. I also need to get some things listed but I just haven't had enough time to do so. I'm working on a project to crochet blankets for my grandchildren. I'm VERY slow at crocheting. I've spent hours upon hours each day this week and still am only a third of the way through the first blanket. I do love to crochet though.

@glassusa BOB ... how in the world do you get so lucky to come across a pair of everglades. I've never even seen them in person, only in books. They are gorgeous.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... How beautiful all the flowers must be and it really sounds grand that you have a porch where you can relax and enjoy them.

@panishklo MARSON ... thanks for all the chocolate! I surely enjoy it! 🙂

@mainewildrose SUE ... so glad you were able to ID the Heisey for Diane. I'm at a loss when it comes to what I call the Colonial patterns. I printed out what you posted. Thanks!

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... It was my little East Coast Washington D.C. granddaughter who broke her arm.

@mainewildrose SUE ... yes, indeed, it is a very poor sketch of Rexford on 195 and an excellent sketch of Rexford 237 that she renamed as something different! The only thing for me is that I have several pieces of Rexford right now in my back room so Bob's celery looked more than familiar to me. 🙂

What a mess of weather. Been off and on the phone with my sister who took ill tonight with a tummy upset. I got some things to take to her and was going to pick up some items from the grocery store. I touched my railing to go down my two steps off the porch and realized it was full of ice. Turned out my car was encased in ice. Couldn't even get the door opened. No way I could drive in all the ice at night. Just kept tabs on her by phone and said if she found she was getting worse or dehydrated we'd just call an ambulance. Luckily, instead, as the evening progressed she began to improve.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... I saw no snow here but there is just ice everywhere. I have to go hunt in my utility room and see if I have any de-icer left from last winter. Will have to try to get the car thawed out in the morning. Luckily, I only live 2 blocks from Church so if push comes to shove I can always walk there.

Very grumpy -- have spent the day grading students' end of term team projects, not quite finished and then have to calculate their overall grades. Why when the instructions clearly state each student's section of the reports needs to be at least 3 pages and the introduction and conclusion have to be 2 to 3 paragraphs do they turn in barely 2 pages and intros and conclusions that are only one paragraph? And why can't they write complete sentences?

@mainewildrose SUE ... your grandbaby is just absolutely gorgeous!

@donscns DON ... super job! Like @fran2 FRAN2 said, the chore will be to keep the card with the correct item. One thought is to print out a small thumbnail picture of the item and paste to the back of the card. I have a booth in Joplin that is strictly EAPG...nothing else. I use larger hang tags and I take a picture of the main design and paste to the back so that someone can't come along and switch tags. The problem is that without the picture the staff has no idea what the pattern name is for a particular item. They really like that I do that.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... oh what a headache of a buyer. grrrrrrrrr. Eat a piece of chocolate...that should make it all better. 🙂

Good afternoon, glassies. I'm running around like a chicken with my head chopped off trying to get packed, phone and camera batteries charged, checkbook balanced, .... and have to get the dogs out to the kennel. Sister is coming over to help as Big Ginny HATES a collar and leash and thinks they are only for dragging her human around the yard. Rocky, though tiny, is feisty and thinks if the front door opens he has license to run away from home and frolic about town. Costs a fortune to kennel the twerps. The cats will be on their own for 2 1/2 days, then sister will return and check on them for the next couple of days. I set out 3 separate kitty litters for them, a wash tub of water, and a wash pan of food. Plus I bought a ton of toys to scatter about the house.

@allirish123 TRACY ... be sure and read all the new policies before listing...no text on the pics, no frames allowed on gallery pics, return policy, on and on. Gotten to be a painful process. I use Auctiva and pay 9.99 a month. I like their templates and also you can schedule your auction start times for free. But I closed my eBay store and haven't listed anything in the last month, so don't know how long I'll continue with Auctiva. I opened a ruby lane store and have no need of a template there. Best of luck!

@4931nextdoor ALICIA ... what splendid items! So sorry that I'm absolutely no help.

@mainewildrose SUE ... We are all here to learn and I for one never find additional information "belaboring"...to the contrary, I find it very helpful reinforcement and appreciate it greatly.

@jerseystar NANCY P ... you get your DD all moved into her new place only for you and her to leave it?! LOL. Maybe you both are so tired from the moving you had to take a vacation from it. 🙂

@favoritegram LAINEY ... do not know the story on your DD's son, but if prayers are welcome for strength and healing, count me in.

@reen REEN ... I can understand wanting to take a lot to auction, but would you quit selling entirely? For all the frustration, I still enjoy watching an auction or listing or item I have in booth to see if it will sell.

HI to GAILMAC, CARL, HELEN, AMBER, DON, GEORGE, and SHELLY.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

@gailmacphee GAIL MAC ... I had 2 months of such horrible sales on eBay that I lost my discount. It discouraged me so that I closed my eBay store and opened one on Ruby Lane. I will just do the free auction listings on eBay when I decide I want to auction something rather than give it a fixed price.

HELLO to ALL glassies and SUE @mainewildrose I agree with LAINEY that you ought to write a guide/review on King's Crown for eBay.

Good morning from sunny and cool NJ -- looks like Mother Nature actually read the calendar and knows it's Autumn. DD called this morning to say she has her closing date -- Oct. 30. That's perfect as her apartment lease ends on Nov. 26 -- she gave notice this past weekend and had already started to arrange for a mover and cleaning service. If worst came to worst, her stuff was going into storage and she was going to stay with her girlfriend.

@mainewildrose Sue, welcome back to the East Coast! How wonderful that you'll be able to enjoy your GD.

@mary cxgirl Mary, another figurine is the September Morn nymph, which Fenton made (it's based on a painting). I have the bowl and candleholders from Fenton's set, but the nymph costs a fortune the few times I've seen one on eBay. So I settled for an Imperial version of Bashful Charlotte which I got cheap. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/7BvfV5SQwYdVWaqbPuPDEJ46WNkKOU7MjrZOZP_x8cU?feat=directlink

@mainewildrose ---- I think you will be very happy with your decision to be where you can see your granddaughter. We have never regretted moving to
Indy to be close to the 2 of our DDs who lived here. That was in 1986. Eventually our 3rd DD settled here, too. And now we get to see one of the great-grands every week.

@reen------ I took a look at your closed auctions. Interesting hats. Hats are one fashion that I am glad to have left behind.
