• Hi everyone. It's nice to see some "old faces"
Looks like I missed a couple of birthdays :-
    Happy Heavenly Birthday Toby
    and
    Happy Birthday to Reen @reen

@susu46 Google made in China Jack in the Pulpit Glass vases. That's what I am imagining from your description. If it were newer Fenton after the 80's then it would most definitely be marked Fenton

  • Good afternoon. I have arrived back home from my volunteering to help the farmers . What an amazing experience! It was hard work(carrying bundles of star pickets up and down hills, some hills were at 45 degrees and hard going, lifting heavy rolls of barbed wire out of the trailers, laying the barbed wire and twitching it to the pickets etc etc) but so very satisfying. We achieved a lot in the 5 days I was there. I am very proud of the new skills I have learnt and I do plan on going back to help some more

    I see I missed Marson @panishklo Shelly @shellyrae37 Susan @whodat111 and Reen @reen while I was away
I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your DH Reen, ((((((HUGS)))))

  • @reen It's good to "see" you here but so very sad to hear the news. Sending gentle {{hugs}} and healing thoughts.

  • @reen Reen, Happy Birthday!! Enjoy today.

My DH's birthday is Wednesday -- I will be baking him a cake, bought ice cream today (my weekly food run), and making one of his favorite meals (lamb chops). Not as many things out-of-stock at our food store (limit of 2 packages each of chicken & turkey, and I think there were limits on beef. Will finally be getting gas one day this week. It will be the first time going to a gas station since March 16 -- I've gone just over 90 miles.

And, yes, May the 4th be with you!

  • Hi Reen @reen I am so sorry to hear your DH's cancer has come back Big (((((HUGS))))

  • May the Fourth be with you!!

    And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @reen Reen!!!!!

  • Good evening. School holidays have commenced here, so I am on Grandma duty everyday.
Reen @reen I am so glad you didn't break anything. I hope you are feeling OK

  • Good afternoon Mixed bag of weather for us down here . Rain, sun shine, humidity, cool breeze, no breeze, humid, hot, overcast. There have been some severe storms and hail pass through too but my suburb dodged them.
Silly season is starting to get under way. I have 3 Xmas parties I've been invited to and all are on tonight.I'd love to be able to attend them all and catch up for Xmas cheer with everyone but that just can't happen. Can't be in 3 places at once LOL

Reen @reen your decorations sound delightful

  • Good morning everyone. Today I have a full complete day all to myself. No boot camp and no babysitting. I had a nice little sleep in and now I plan to mow the yard. Seems like forever since I have done it. What with the heat and no rain and me holidaying too much lol Along with the "I can't be bothered attitude" LOL Last time it was done it was by a professional. Now its time for a tidy up.

Reen @reen sorry to hear about your Dh, I am sending strong postive thoughts your way and big ((((HUGS))))

~~waving~~~ to Marson @panishklo always lovely to see you pop by

    Julie
still having issues with my internet and phone dropping in and out.

  • Reen @reen it will depend on where they are visiting. Do you know where? Some places in Aus are warm during winter
Glad to hear your DH is dong well ((((Hugs)))) to you both

  • Good Morning.Chilly here this morning but the sun is shining and the sky is clear, so it will be a lovely day. I been a way to the country for a few days with a group of friends and had a great time.
Toadboy @fracnjan Hi back to you and Fran. So sorry to hear you had to put your furbaby to sleep.Always hard πŸ™
Carl @carma Happy Anniversary The meals sounded delicious BTW I think I might come over there to eat LOL $88 sounds so cheap for 2 ppl. I paid $30 for just one main meal ( no entree, no dessert and no drinks included in that) And this was at a country Pub, not an upmarket resatuarant where you would pay so much more.
Marson @panishklo My calf is healing really well.I'd say its about 95% healed. I trained yesterday arvo and this morning and managed to do some running. But I Had to stop at the hills and walk up though, I could feel the muscle pulling. I don't want to re tear it and have to start all over again with the healing process.
Reen @reen sending you and Dh positive thoughts and big ((((hugs)))))

    Sara @lilac1987 HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    Julie

  • @reen Reen -- sending gentle {{hugs}} and prayers of healing to you and DH! Neighborhood garage sale sounds like fun. We have glass doorknobs throughout our house.

  • Good evening .I'm still having internet issues. It will all be sorted in a couple of weeks when I change over to a new server, which has the most up to date connection. My server has not gone with the times and does not offer the new NBN.They have also been taken over by another company and I must say their customer service is just about non existent. I was on the phone the other day and all I was getting from the tech on the other end were sighs like I was an inconvenience and I shouldn't be interrupting his time. In the mean time I just have to put up with very slow and unreliable connection.

Irene @jmart8248 I hope you have a speedy recovery.Take things easy

    Reen @reen

  • Good morning , weather is the same as yesterday. Dark gloomy and wet

I thought the coffee/tea contraption was interesting too. It looks very complicated LOL But back in the "old days" when inventors were inventing to make life easier, they did come up with some very complicated things, hence they never lasted long LOL I must say I would love to own one, though. It would look great on display in my kitchen.
Jim @dorbitz I am holding my breath every time I start my computer up LOL I am just hoping it will last till I get the laptop all set up. At the moment I am having issues uploading my virus scanner to it.I don't want to use the laptop till that's all done. Fingers crosses
Reen @reen nice to see you stop by πŸ˜€

  • Good morning from snowy NJ. They are talking 1 to 3 inches but not sure when it will end and how much we will get. I teach today, two sections of my class, first from 2 to 4:30 and second from 5:30 to 8. Waiting to see if they do any cancellations. Then I also have to make a decision as president of my synagogue -- we have after-school Hebrew School for our students from 4 to 6 pm, not sure if we will cancel or not. Waiting to see what storm does (and also whether any of the public schools that the kids go to have an early dismissal, in which case we'll cancel).

@reen Reen, sorry to hear you were sick, good to see you back!

@wattleihavenext Julie, what a gorgeous coffee/tea pot (though I'm not sure you could really put anything hot in it).

  • @carma Besides, when you don't post we worry about you.

@reen Sending good thoughts for your furkid!

  • Good morning everyone. It is suppose to be our Family Reunion today but the weather is not co -operating, drizzling rain on and off. So not sure as yet if we will postpone. Thank heavens for Facebook. I set up a Group and we can all just discuss everything on there.Makes life so much easier.
Reen @reen ((((hugs)))) to you. We get so attached to our furbabies, it breaks our hearts when they are suffering.
Nancyjean @nona Gail @songbreeze is on Facebook a lot and does a lot of work on the EAPG group.
I think most of the members here are members of a lot of the Facebook Glass Groups "Vintage Glass" "EAPG" "Carnival Glass" "GLGDB" I am a member of a lot of varied Facebook Groups. Some to do with collecting and others for personal interests like camping, running, bootcamp etc. I think thats where mnost "hang out" now and thats why we don't get much action here.
    Julie

  • Good evening everyone. Our perfect weather continues.

Reen @reen WTG on your Aunt. That's the best attitude, never say you're too old to do or to learn to do anything.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone, very cold, wet and gloomy here.I actually have had the heater on today.
Reen @reen I tried Googling your artist but didn't find anything at all

  • Good afternoon to you all. Its been a DDG warm sunny winters day.
Marson @panishklo nice to see you and thanks for the hugs

Nancy @jerseystar27 I hope your Mum makes a good recovery

Reen @reen try not to do anything too stupid and stay well

  • Good Morning everyone. Very very windy here today, such a big difference to yesterday's warm sunny weather
I had a lovely morning out for breakfast with a dear friend and my sister after I finished bootcamp training.

Reen @reen I am sure I will feel the exact same way you do, when it comes time for me to leave this house full of wonderful memories.I have the plans in my head of what I want to and should do but just can't seem to get myself to put them into action just yet. A few more years and I should downsize.
Katie @fyrqueen Glad Mags ate some breakfast
Bob @baabaamason Not sure what the solution is for your issues with FB. Is there somewhere , when you try to sign in that says "forgot your password" If so, they'll email you the password.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. It is a glorious warm sunny winters day again. Perfect!

Katie @fyrqueen I received a phone call from my eldest sister and she says Mum is deteriorating fast. They have her on Morphine and have moved her to the Palliative care room. So very very sad. My other sister that is ill is on her way here after having lymph node scans and biopsy, so we should know more about her condition and exactly what treatment and chemo she will be having.A very stressful and worrying time for us all.I'm not sure where I am going to get the strength from to cope with it all. But as the saying goes "You don't know how strong you are till strong is the only option you have"

Reen @reen glad to hear you are feeling well.

  • Good afternoon everyone, sunny and warm but very windy here atm
Reen @reen glad you are mending

  • @katie_delano
I should have mentioned.... since you're taking doxy you should also be taking probiotics, and particularly a yeast probiotic. The only one that I can name is saccharomyces boulardii ( or sacro-boulardi, pronounce sac-ro-boy-ar-dee). This will prevent the doxy from roaching your digestive system. It just needs to be taken several hours apart from the med so they're not fighting each other. I don't know why docs don't routinely prescribe probiotics when giving antibiotics to their patients. It's just so dumb when the side effects are totally avoidable! Meanwhile, lasagne was adventurous. I'd stick with veggies and light soups for a bit.
I do hope this nasty med is worth it for you and beats the snot out of the tick-borne nasties! I've had Lyme 6 years and it's managed okay - still have flares. I think you're so early in the diagnosis with your treatment you'll avoid being a "lifer" like me! Good luck. And Happy Birthday! And ditto on the lesson on aging: as I've said - too soon old, too late smart!

    @Julie
You do satisfy my sweet tooth, if only vicariously, with your fantastic pix. Thanks!

    @Reen
How goes it? Thinking of you! Feel better.

    Janice

  • Reen @reen I hope everything went well with your surgery

  • Good Morning everyone
Marson @panishklo It's not so warm here now, We have been having some strong westerly winds these past few days and that is bringing in the cold.Nice sunny days though, just the wind is not so nice. Cold ( not freezing) mornings and evenings. Winter is just around the corner. I just read that areas in Queensland were below 0 Celsius. Makes me wonder what's going on. Queensland is a destination for a lot us Southerners for winter because its warmer. Though last Winter when I was there in July , the first 2 weeks were absolutely freezing. Took a lot of locals by surprise too, they were not used to such weather.

Reen @reen Positive thoughts all will go well.
    Julie

  • @oklahomasong_Gail
Is everything okay? Dang those tornadoes are God-awful! Be well! In all ways!
    Janice

    @reen
My daughter used relaxation tapes before surgery (especially designed for that purpose) and asked the surgeon and anesth. if they'd mind if it were played in the OR. They were both aware of the creator of the CD and wholeheartedly agreed to play it during surg. They put the CD player in a septic paper bag. She had hip replacement and was up much faster than most patients of same age, required less anesthesia and came out of it quicker, and had overall less pain killers while in hospital. The mind is powerful. Let it make this easier. I'll be thinking of you Thursday!

    Janice

  • Good Morning everyone, another beautiful day for us down here.
Don @donscns have fun playing in the dirt.
Jim @dorbitz Tinypics frustrates the hell out of me. No other site takes that long to load for me. It's just tinypics . BTW you'll love retirement. Always plenty to do and its doing only what you want and enjoy doing.
Reen @reen glad you had a good day

  • Good Morning everyone. Our picture perfect weather is continuing. A little chilly in the mornings but that warm sun and clear blue sky is just glorious. Temps will reach 26Celsius for us here.
Jim @dorbitz are you going to just tell or will you show us your new addtion πŸ™‚
Reen @reen sounds like you have lovely day planned. Enjoy!
Shelly @shellyrae37 Aren't I clever making such a beautiful cake LOL Wished I was that talented
Don @donscn you will be busy

  • @reen Reen, Happy Birthday!! Sounds like great plans for today -- enjoy!!! And good thoughts and prayers for next week.

Gray and cool again today -- good for the plants (though I really need to plant all of the stuff I bought the past few days).

  • @panishklo Marson, sending {{hugs}}, I'm glad your mom was able to see some spring flowers and be at home with her loved ones. Wishing you all well.

@glassusa Bob, yikes -- that is just too bizarre! I thought you were going to say that they said they were china or something but that glassware is only something you drink out of!

@reen Reen, sending good thoughts for your surgery, hoping it goes well and that you heal quickly.

@wattleihavenext Julie, glad you're not out in the rain!

Still cool here for almost May -- we're supposed to get a day of rain tomorrow which is fine, the gardens need it.

  • @reen
    Good luck with surg!!!
    Janice

  • Good Morning everyone. I've been out in my van unloading the swapmeet stuff and cleaning. I am taking my 5 yr old grand daughter away camping by the river over the weekend. It will be our first camping trip together. Looking forward to it. πŸ˜€
Reen @reen sun is shining atm but maybe some showers later.Temps are starting to drop to a more bearable level for us.
    Carl @carma DDG
G'day Tincey @1citydude you should post more often, even if it's just a "hi" πŸ™‚
Nancyjean @nona I think we are always up for learning an easier way to do things. Thanks

  • Good Morning everyone. It is raining here. And temps have dropped a bit . It's still humid though.
Hi Reen @reen sorry you are having health issues

  • Reen @reen and Janice @capecodlady Hope you both are feeling much better soon. And the same goes to anyone else that is under the weather

  • Good Morning to everyone. We had one hell of a thunder storm come through yesterday. My suburb didn't get much of the electrics just some good heavy down pours. But I could hear the continual non stop rolling thunder that seemed to never end, one after the other on and on and on.I am sure there are going to be some spectacular photos posted on FB. I have Just turned the computer and radio on so not sure if any damage was done to the areas that got hit hard.
Gail @songbreeze. Don't be too hard on yourself. Your body has been to hell and back and it will take a lot of time to get over that. Sit back relax and let your body heal.
Reen @reen sorry to see you have been in pain. Hope you feel better soon

    Stay safe stay warm everyone
    Julie

  • Good Morning. Sun is shining, it is such a beautiful morning.
Sad news yesterday my family lost another . My aunty (Dad's sister) passed away aged 95.
Reen @reen it's good to see you. Hope you are keeping well.Yep the kids do grow up fast. I can't believe how much Miss P is growing already. One day she was a little toddler and now she is a "big" girl. The conversations we have blows me away LOL The things she says and the things she knows, just amazes me.And the words she already uses in her vocabulary. I think at the age of 4 she knows more words then me LOL. Mr Ds growing fast too.He is a real little cuddler, loves to cuddle. I'll cherish that for as long as I can. Hopefully he will not grow out of it and will always want big cuddles from Grandma.
Carl @ carma thanks for sharing your new item. You have been finding some lovely things lately.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Its a beautiful day here today. Yesterday got a bit chilly.
Had a nice start to my day. A bootcamp session along our river bank and then some garage sales and breakfast out with my sister.
I just received word from my neice, my brother was very distrort this morning so they upped his morphine dose to get him settled . He was very aggitated yesteday too. Not the best of patients, I can tell you. I won't go into details. But let me say, those nurses need a medal.

    Carl @carma that is beautiful
Reen @reen I am glad you are on the mend
Nancy @jerseystar27 Welcome back. I'll have a look at your blog later today when I know I can do it uninterupted.
LOL Janice @capecodlady re your friend fussing like a 5 year old over the Kale Crush. I make a very yummy kale smoothie. The colour green doesn't look all that inviting and I must admit the first time I made it I wasn't so sure about drinking it. BUT to my surprise it was delicious. I think some ppl as soon as they hear "healthy" they immediately convince themselves it will taste yucky. I did a dinner party for some of my girlfriends and used all the meals from my "diet" (Didn't tell them that though LOL) They loved everything and were amazed when I told them this was my "diet" food.
    Julie

  • Good morning everyone. The sun is shining, so hopefully all the rain has gone.. for awhile at least.
Don @donscns Fingers crossed your bowls arrive safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
That would be fun watching those little ones learning and experiencing the butterflies and catapillars. Their enthusiam is just wonderful at that age when they are learning.

Reen @reen Wendy @wjweese may be right, time for a new Estate Agent. My cousin had their porperty on the market forever. They discovered the Agent wasn't doing anything to promote it so they switched and not long after that they had a sale.

Shelly @shellyrae37 I am still waiting confirmation from everyone to see if the reunion will go ahead today. We have tiny little new borns and elderly (89 is the eldest) The cold and damp under foot just may not be ideal for them. If this is the case then we will reschedule for a few weeks time. No one really want to be indoors at a club we like to be outdoors in the lovely park where there is play equipment and the little ones can run around as much as they want, making as much noise as they want, screaming and laugh with out a care in the world. Our family does NOISE really well LOL
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Still chilly in the mornings but the days have been lovely. Yesterday was our first day of Spring.
Reen @reen try not to stress. I am sure your house will sell.
Bob @glassusa it certainly does sound like a blessing in disguise.

  • Good afternoon everyone. seems we are back to winter. Cold, windy and wet.
Started my day with early morning bootcamp with one niece and then morning tea with another niece, followed by my weekley grocery shopping

Reen @reen You can still use tinypics if you want but after you have uploaded to there,Come back here and Click on the " image wizard" tab at the top Copy paste the URL/direct link of your pic in tinypics into STEP 2 bar. Then a simple click on "CLICK HERE" in Step 3 and voilΓ  it will automatically give you the HTML code in step 4 for you to copy and paste into your post. In the big square box underneath STEP 4 it will also show you what your pic will look like. Don't worry if it does look too big. It will automatically resize for you

I have already wished Susu a happy birthday on Facebook. I don;t think she is a member here BUT just in case she is and I missed seeing her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SuSu

  • Reen @reen finally it has loaded. I have taken the liberty of posting it direct to the board because I know there are others on here that have the same problems as I do with tinypics

  • Sorry Reen @reen wished I could help but I never have much luck with tinypics loading for me. I have been waiting now 5 minutes ( I timed it) and your pic still has not loaded, all the adverts surrounding it have just about finished loading, but not the actual pic I want or need to see
    Julie

  • @suzy Suzy, Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a great day!

@reen Reen, good luck with the closing and the move!! (And hoping a buyer comes your way soon!)

  • Good Morning everyone. another chilly winters morning here 2Β°C
Have my truck in at the mechanic's for a service and checkover to make sure alls OK before my road trip.
Gail @songbreeze I hope you are OK
Reen @reen glad the new house is making progress
    Carl @carma gorgeous grandkids πŸ™‚

  • Good afternoon everyone. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I have been having a fun time with the celebrations. Firstly my party on Saturday night. On Monday morning after my swim there was a party at the cafe we all go to for our coffee afterwards at 6a.m One of the ladies baked me a lovely birthday cake, supplied some finger food, party hats and balloons. What a great way to start the day of your birthday. Had DD and grandkids around for morning tea and lunch and spent some time with them. Monday night after bootcamp another small celebration with the women I train with and another birthday cake LOL That's 3 birthday cakes all up LOL Home from bootcamp and had dinner with next door neighbours.

Reen @reen I am so sorry no one turned up for your open house. You must have been very disappointed ((((hugs))))
Gail @songbreeze I hope you are doing well.
Jim @dorbitz LOL we are a day ahead, so it was yesterday here , today there LOL or probably by now its yesterday there LOL
LOL Marson @panishklo I was a "little delicate" on Sunday after my party. It was after 3a.m before I went to bed, after the last guest left LOL
Irene @jmart8248 I had a variety of snack food for my guests. Different cheese platters, pates, different types of olives, crackers, potato chips, pretzels, several different dips etc.

  • Good Morning everyone, sunny but a little chilly .
Carl @carma don't you just love progress?.. NOT Same things happening down here too
Shelly I did have a great night and everything went well. I probably had about 50 guests give or take a few. Mother Nature co operated, plenty of sunshine on Saturday to get the yard all set up for the night. Chilly night but everyone kept warm sitting around the firepits or outdoor heater. Plus everyone came well rugged up.
Don @donscns I hope Laura has a speedy recovery
Reen @reen hope all went well for your Open House
Wendy @wjweese I hope you continue to mend after your fall.

  • Good Morning everyone. It's foggy and very chilly here this morning. I do hope the rain stays away. My yard is still very wet and I am having a party this coming Saturday night. I have about 40- 50 ppl coming so I'd like the yard to be dry not soggy and boggy.Today is going to be a very busy day in the yard. Firstly Have to get the chainsaw out and finish off the jacaranda tree that was blown down in the April storm and then lots of other things needed doing to prepare for my party.I am cut 2 days short this week as I have the grandkids Tuesday and Wednesday for 11 hrs each day. Its hard to get anything done when I have them.Especially if it involves chainsaws , lawn mowers and whipper snippers.
Carl @carma the only way to eat any seafood is FRESH. Growing up that's all we ate. Mum and Dad were very keen fishermen so we were always at the beach and was fed freshly, just out of the ocean and onto our plate. At the lake where my grandfather lived they caught fresh crabs and prawns. Again it was fresh out of the water and onto our plate. It actually took me a lot of years as an adult to even enjoy "fresh" bought from a shop. Nothing tastes better then fresh straight from the water.
Reen @reen always fun unwrapping stuff and reliving the memories
JimL @dorbitz thanks for doing the coffee πŸ™‚
Marson @panishklo your garden sounds lovely. Do you want to come down here and help me with mine LOL I am not much of a gardener.
    JimD @newtonenterprises Happy Anniversary

    Julie

  • Reen @reen that is not my kitchen πŸ™‚

  • Reen @reen I have lambs wool lining in my boots and wool socks but standing on that damp frosty ground , it still chills you right through. If Monday is anything like today it is going to be DDG once the sun comes out and the frost melts
Gail @songbreeze I wished I lived closer so I could help. Sending you (((((hugs))))) and postive thoughts for you to get through this

  • Good Morning everyone I am still in a big mess here but progress is being made very slowly. Who am I kinding!! I have made a bigger mess by removing the kitchen cabinet. I have decided to sell it and get something different LOL So now I have more stuff everywhere LOL
But the walls and floors are clean.(still spot scrubbing the floor though) I have moved the stove and fridge into another spot and I have put back some of the items I use on a daily basis. So thats the progress. But we won't talk about the rest of the house and all the stuff from the kitchen I have everywhere that I need to sort (keep or sell) and clean.
Kay @rosecoloredglasses Hi to you . Glad to see you posting. Please join in more often
Reen @reen I too hope I am wrong about the rain. Weather report says cold but sunny. So fingers crossed they are right. And we have taken to calling our swapmeets swampmeets LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 I have a market this weekend , I will head off tomorrow. It will be freezing. There is sure to be a heavy frost over everything Monday morning. I have a pair of special thermal gloves But standing on that icey cold damp ground can be painful and sent chills right through your body.
    Don @donscns Lovely set

  • Good Morning everyone a cold damp day morning. Today I will be spending it putting my kitchen back together again. I have decided there will be no 'props" going back in. Only functional items that I actually do use.... well thats for now anyway LOL I have already decided that the big shop scales will find a new spot in my kitchen. I haven;t decided where it will go yet. Just that I don't want it back where it was.

Reen @reen I hope it stays dry for your open house. And good luck I hope your home sells soon. BTW it will probably rain Sunday and Monday. I have a market those days and with my track record lately its bound to rain LOL
Don @donscns enjoy those grand daughters as I know you will. I bet they look at you with their adorable eyes and give you a sweet smile and they have Poppy wrapped around their fingers LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 all good with the ceiling. It had to be totally removed and a new one put in, so any mold, if there was, has been taken care of.
    Julie

  • Good Morning to you all , sunny but chilly here this morning.
Its nice to see some MIA Glassies pop in
Reen @reen you and me both had a good nights sleep. Alarm went off at 3.45a.m for me to go swimming, I turned it off and rolled over and went back to sleep.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I am hoping I am making happy memories for the Grandkids But its not all fun and games all the time LOL They can be naughty and Grandma can get grumpy if they are LOL So sometimes it's a battle LOL I think they get their stubborness and mischeivous from Grandma LOL Especially the red head LOL
    Julie

  • LOL Shelly @shellyrae37 probably more like being silly then being tough LOL
Reen @reen glad you had a good meeting
Katie @fyrqueen one never ever cooks on their b/day LOL
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. cold and damp down here.
Reen @reen a special ((((hug)))) just for you πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. we have been enjoying cold mornings but lovely sunny days the past few days. Good for getting the grounds dry after the massive rain/floods and storms we had. My back yard was almost dry enough so I could get the mower through it. But today it is drizzling with rain so there goes my plans on getting the yard mowed tomorrow or Monday.
Reen @reen I am so glad you found a soap that you're not allergic to. Skin allergies are such a PITA
Wendy @wjweese Yes it was a big job for me to tackle on my own. Thank goodness my cousin stepped in to help or I'd still be going. I now have the tree almost all cleaned up. I cut up some of it to use in my little fire pit I have in my back yard. I am looking forward to sitting around that one cold night enjoying a few beverages with some friends. The rest my cousin took away. The uprooted stump still remains but I am thinking about using that as a pedestal for an outdoor table. Sister has a tempered glass top she is going to give me. Should look good, I hope, if I can do it right.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I was in bed early. I had a good nights sleep and Awake nice and early this morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Sister and I headed off to a few garage sales and then out for breakfast.Tonight my DD is taking me out to a Theatre/Restaurant to see Pearl... The Janis Joplin Story. It was part of my Mothers day present πŸ™‚ Looking forward to that
Carl @carma Glad no one was injured in the fire
    Julie

  • @reen Reen, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Wishing you a wonderful day followed by a wonderful year. Your plans sound like fun. DH's birthday is on Wednesday but he has a meeting in the evening so I'll be taking him out to dinner on Thursday. (I wonder what was nine months ago -- I know a lot of people with birthday this week.)

  • Happy Birthday Reen @reen

  • I am almost all packed and ready to leave for the markets. Sun is trying to shine and the rain has eased off for a bit.

I received an email from Shelly@shellyrae37 today. She is OK and like Reen @reen said, she is feeling a little down.

I'd also like to mention that a dear Glassie Friend from the eBay GB days , Betty, is not very well at all. So please send prays and positive thoughts for her. She is a member of this group but her illness has prevented her form participating like she used to do.She is such a beautiful caring lady and it's very sad that she is so ill.

    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone, still very dark and gloomy here with lots of rain.
Reen @reen Thanks I hope the weather clears like they say it is going to. Good luck to you too, if you decide to have a GS

Gail @songbreeze I do hope everything is OK with Shelly @shellyrae37 She was going to Pittsburgh for her DH's check up. That was over 2 weeks ago. I just checked her FB page and she made a post on 2nd April. I left her a message πŸ™‚
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone Cooler temps today and by the look of the sky we will get some rain.
Yesterday was so hot but later in the afternoon a cool change came through. I was at a friends house. We were sitting under their huge Camphor Laurel tree enjoying a nice cold beer. The wind was very hot at first but then it became still, skies became very hazey and then the westerly wind turned into a nice cool southerly....heavenly πŸ™‚
Been shopping with my sister today at the local Harvest Markets. Nice fresh organic and mostly locally grown(or at least Australian grown) fruit , veg and meat. And I just discovered a local milk that is to die for. I first tried it at a new local coffee shop You can really taste the difference. Saw a stall today that was selling it. had to get me a bottle (yep a bottle, a real glass bottle. Not cardboard or plastic πŸ™‚ )
Gail @songbreeze I am so glad you enjoyed your day. Its the little things that make it so. SO many ppl get behind the oncology units and do a lot to make your time there as enjoyable as possible. It was the same here And as strange as it sounds DH and I enjoyed going because everyone around you were all positive and so happy go lucky. A great atmosphere to be in
Sharon @sfinds nothing beats fresh caught fish.As a child that's the only fish I ever ate. Straight from the lake or ocean cooked and onto the plate. At one stage in my life I would not eat or buy any fish. It just didn't have the same taste and I couldn't enjoy it. Taste buds have now adjusted LOL
Irene @jmart8248 Glad you enjoyed your birthday
Wendy @wjweese and Reen @reen good to see you are on the mend. Take things easy though
Julie...off to check out Facebook now πŸ˜€

  • Good afternoon everyone. It is very humid here.
Took the kids up to visit Mum this morning, she was a lot brighter than last week.
Reen @reen I hope everything went well with your tests today
Sharon @sfinds I hope you are feeling better by now. I use to suffer from vertigo and I know just how horrid it makes you feel.

  • Reen @reen I hope you feel better soon

  • Reen @reen I am glad your strength is returning. Take it easy and don't over do things. Dolly steps at a time
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Over cast here with chances of some rain. I am heading off to a Swapmeet tomorrow. I am gone for 5 days. This one I am sure a lot of you will remember. Each year it is always extremely wet.One year some of the stall holders woke up to their stalls being in water up to their calves. BUT it is always a good one for selling. Don't ask me why!!! The Aussie country folk do not let a little thing like rain stop them.Especially when you are in a region that gets very little rain through out the rest of year. I think they love to get out in it and play LOL
Reen @reen continued positive thoughts for a speedy recovery for you
    Julie

  • Katie @fyrqueen thank you for keeping us updated on Reen. Please pass on my regards.
    Julie

    Reen @reen

  • Good Morning everyone It's overcast here
Carl @carma Thanks. I had already told her what was in your book and will now pass on the confirmation on. How I see it now, most Aussies on Facebook know of Doty's site and use it for reference, so they'll all think it's rare. LOL That's good for the friend in a way, when she sells it. I have seen some strange buying on Facebook and some strange ideas of what's valuable LOL. It's all in the marketing to the uneducated and the lazy that don't do their homework.
Gail @songbreeze (((((HUGS)))))) and continued postive thoughts
Don @donscns aaaaaarrrrrrchooooo I hope it doesn't linger too long
Katie @fyrqueen give my regards to Reen @reen I hope she is better soon

  • Good Morning everyone. Yesterday was such a beautiful day.The sun kept shining but the Temps didn't go up too high. I think today will be much the same. There is that nice little nip to the air this morning @ 14Celsius ( 57 F) It is suppose to reach 29Celsius (84F) Not bad for our summer πŸ™‚
Reen @reen and Wendy @wjweese I am glad you got some sleep.

  • Reen @reen I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight

  • Been having some issues with my internet. So sorry I can't post any coffee or tea
Re4en @reen I do hope you can settle your feelings and find peace ((((Hugs))))) Nothing worse then that feeling of unrest

  • Good Morning everyone. Sun is shining and it's hot LOL
Reen @reen maybe a nice herbal tea would be good.I start my day with a lemon and ginger tea. I only have one real coffee per day
Katie @fyrqueen our country sounds a lot scarier then it really is
Gail @songbreeze yep I believe we do hold that title LOL doesn't sound good does it LOL

  • HI Reen @reen nothing worse then not being able to sleep. Its only 6.30p.m here

  • Reen @reen Yes I am very lucky to live in a gorgeous part of the world
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Another hot day ahead for us.
Reen @reen I hope your hip feels better after moving around a bit
Bob @baabaamason glad you are improving.Won't be long and you will be fully mobile
Wes @norske65 just in case you don't get back here before Xmas ...A merry Christmas to you
    Julie

  • Good evening everyone. I know you will all be in bed by now. I've had a full on day with the Grandkids and have enjoyed just about every minute of it. We have had lots of rain and thunderstorms all day. I decided to give Boot Camp a miss this afternoon. I just didn't want to take the kids out in it . We do BC in the park but when its raining we go to a shed for shelter but its not very clean and the amount of rain that we had been getting it would have had plenty of water in it too.
Reen @reen and there are chocs beside the cups..yummy πŸ™‚
Gail @songbreeze . my pleasure πŸ™‚ I am glad you are getting your much needed rest
Katie @fyrqueen That is very generous of you to help out a family that's down on their luck
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone,I couldn't access the board this morning.
It's very hot & humid here today.but at least yesterday we had a bit of a break from the heat.
Been out for lunch with a couple of girlfriends, trying to cheer one up and keep her motivated because she has just lost her partner recently to cancer.
Reen @reen Its so hard to stay cool in our summer
Gail @songbreeze they look like dates to me. At first I thought they were coffee beans LOL
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. We have had some very hot days. Yesterday was 43Β°Celsius. A thunder storm with a bit of rain did come through in the afternoon but it was very short lived. Over before it started But other area's did cop it bad. Some bushfires caused from lightening strikes, trees and power lines down and heavy rain.
More high temps today and supposedly rain and thunder storms this arvo
Bob @baabaamason I hope you can manage at home OK without too many issues.
Reen @reen so sorry to hear your friend has to have a leg amputation. I hope all goes as well as can be for her.
Fenton @ohiostar thanks for the update on Paul Glad he is still doing well.
    Julie

  • Reen @reen that is a lot of lamps to ID WOW
BTW I use Chrome and I am happy with it.
Alicia @4931nextdoor raolfmao πŸ˜† πŸ˜† Not a pretty sight πŸ˜† πŸ˜† Aussie fisherman in what you call a thong But then if you visualise maybe a nice tanned Aussie surfer type fisherman in a thong... now thats better πŸ˜† πŸ˜†
Shelly @shellyrae37 I hope your Dh is feeling better

  • Good Morning everyone. It is supposed to be another hot one here today. It topped 100 yesterday and the next few days are supposed to bring more of the same.

@donscn, Wow! Those are some gorgeous table sets!

@reen, Those are awful. The only times I have ever suffered with leg cramps, was when I was expecting my girls. DH would be woken from a sound sleep to find me doing some of those deep breathing exercises and hunched over, trying to reach my legs to massage the cramp out,( which of course wasn't possible because my stomach was in the way). It used to scare the heck out of him. He thought I was in labor and he was going to have to deliver a baby. LOL

Well I guess I should get some of my errands done before the worst of the heat hits.

  • Good Morning everyone. WOW have we copped some rain since yesterday. I have been tossing up whether to travel 5 hours west to do a swapmeet this weekend or travel 2 hours north on the coast to have a weekend away with cousins. By the look of our weather report I may just stay put.
Reen @reen Oh my that is just too sad, to think that this is what things have come to. That the schools are drilling the teachers and pupils on gun shooting How very very sad πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™
Gail @gailmacphee I am forever having issues with tinyPic and your pics will not load for me Tinypics is too busy loading up the slotmachine games to entice me and an advert for Asian Date.com
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. Todays weather is a repeat of yesterday, Chilly morning, sun warmed up and now early afternoon, overcast and back to chilly again. Plus it is trying its hardest to rain. We really do need it bad.
Jim @dorbitz I hope you enjoyed your walk. It sounds beautiful.
    Reen @reen Shelly @shellyrae37 Wendy @wjweese πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†
Gail @songbreeze I am glad you can finally lay your friend at peace

  • Irene @jmart8248 and Reen @reen its not only the eyes that need protecting from the dust, it gets up your nose, in your ears, all through your hair, ground into your skin. I would have to wear a full bhurka and goggles to protect myself πŸ˜†

  • Good Monday morning to you all. I plan an easy day going at a slow pace. Will need to get van cleaned out and outside washed, a bit of housework and washing and in between a bit of time on the computer.Whatever takes my fancy. LOL
Reen @reen πŸ˜† at the swimming goggles
Wendy @wjweese I did have a nice long soak in a hot bath .Always feels so good after a swapmeet. But this morning my eyes are still feeling gritty and I am sneezey But I don't expect anything else on a Monday morning after a swapmeet LOL And this one is the worst for dust and dirt.Over a thousand outdoor sites in the showground and around the trotting track (dirt) You can get the picture having all those vehicles moving around on it to get to and from their stalls and then all the shoppers kicking up the dust as they walk.
Alicia @4931nextdoor I received a flyer over the weekend and there is a new swap starting up (again) just 2 mins drive from me in 2 weeks times But I doubt I will do it. For some reason those ones that have been held there have never been a success. Plus I have a "party" weekend that same weekend. The group I do bootcamp with are having a night out on the town and I don't want to miss that LOL
Julie..trying to decide what to have for breakfast πŸ™‚

  • @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... Well, I got one more thing listed. That's all day for 3 items. I'm trying to get a bunch of things listed so I can open my store on 11 MAIN. But really more than anything I just want to get all the excess glass out of my house. Maybe just a giant cheap yard sale. Then I can start over fresh....and buy wiser. Too many tuition pieces crowding me out of the house.

@jmart8248 IRENE M... you really had me laughing that the raccoons were smarter than the "skunk man." Hope you all are successful in trapping some wild critters soon.

@maryr MARYMELODEE ... sorry the auction didn't work out. Good luck on your consignments.

@reen REEN ... years ago I had to have an MRI. Didn't think I would be able to go through with it. But they gave me an eye mask so I could see my nose was one inch from the ceiling area, and a friend held onto my foot so I felt if I screamed I could be pulled out real quickly. And the wind that they kept blowing through, well, I told myself it was the breeze from angel wings as the angels watched over me. Everything worked out well.

@glassusa BOB ... I carry my boxes to the PO but I only live a couple of minutes from it. I usually stand and watch them scan the box. If I'm in a hurry, I'll leave in on the counter...but ask them to scan it as I walk out the door.

HI to JULIE, DON, FRAN 2, NANCY P, GEORGE, WENDY

PS. Did no one notice that I posted the Coffee Date today as February 4th????? Talk about tired and sleep when I posted it.... πŸ˜†

  • Good Morning everyone. A chilly start to the day but looks like we are in for a DDG sunny day. Winter is on its way out.
Heading out later to do my grocery shop and have morning tea with one of my beautiful nieces.Went to Boot Camp with another of my nieces last night. We have fun πŸ™‚
Katie @fyrqueen yep there are some wierdos out there.I would just block that lady and not deal with her at all. Sounds like she will be more trouble then she is worth
    Reen @reen Get well soon

  • @Reen, I tried that search, but it brought up too many of the celestial themed moon and star cakes. I was hoping to find one themed around the EAPG pattern that Nancy collects, Moon and Star aka Palace. hmm.. does the fact that my mind even thinks of that indicate the need for a glass intervention? lol

  • @reen Reen, first, I hope you're feeling better and can go out and celebrate your anniversary. Second, Alicia was referring to my love of Moon & Star glass, see these examples of cake stands: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=sb&q=moon+and+star+cake+plate&revid=1977427295&sa=X&ei=44bVU-rIDo6pyATmt4HYDQ&ved=0CHQQ1QIoAA&biw=1280&bih=810

@wattleihavenext Julie, thank you!!! {{hugs}} to you and your family.

  • Good Mornign everyone
Reen @reen so sorry you were too ill to enjoy your anniversary. I hope you are feeling much better today
    Marson @panishklo stay dry
Shelly @shellyrae37 Enjoy your reunion today.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY P @jerseystar27

  • Good morning, glassies. Headed out for Church shortly and then going out for lunch with my sister, her BF and a visiting priest. They really only invited me so I could help translate.

I got a couple of listings ready for 11 Main. Haven’t posted any for preview yet. Want to get at least a dozen ready first.

@glassusa BOB … Jenks/Luna/Reilly say the scalloped top spooner has been reproduced in clear w/frosting by LG Wright in 1969.

If this falls through with the Candlewick, email me as I would be interested in it.

@reen REEN … so sorry you are under the weather, but HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and hope you all can celebrate soon.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY … a reunion sounds like a lot of fun. I know it takes a lot of work but hope you all have a great time.

@dorbitz JIM L … good to see you check in. Hope all is well for you.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ….. yikes! sure wouldn’t want to be having to trap so many critters. What do you all do with them once you’ve trapped them?

Oh, went and picked up my things at the Fair last night and I sure was surprised to be given a check for $23…. $4 for each blue ribbon and $3 for the red ribbon. Fun! πŸ˜€

  • Good Morning everyone. OMG I slept in till 10 a.m this morning. I can’t believe it But I must have needed it. I think when we go through some sad times it does drain your energy.
Reen @reen I can’t speak from experience but my Uncle recommended camphor in the bottom of the bed at night, for his cramps.
Going to scroll now to see the rest of the board and then later I will share a pic of a piece of milk glass I bought on my very short trip
