  • Good Morning Everyone Each morning is getting colder as we head towards winter.Sun is shining but the breeze is cool
Diane @dianes I forgot to thank you for the Repro site you posted THANK YOU I have had a little look around and it looks like a great site.I have book marked it and also passed it onto one of my Collectors Groups, who also love it.
Janice @sunwoman3663 good to see that all is well with you
    Gail @songbreeze she is adorable
Reen @reen Glad you enjoyed your meeting
    Julie

  • @dianes DIANE ... The butter dish is ALBION by the Bryce Brothers, 1885.

  • Good Morning everyone. Mornings are getting cooler but days are still gorgeous.

Helen @10bbg10 Yes my citron is fluorescent .Those pics were taken in natural day light and they glowed.
Diane @dianes I am glad you like my Australian Crown Crystal glass, Yes it is old the company started in 1914 and traded till the 1960's when amalgamated with a USA company to become Crown Corning Glass. An average date for the Citron approx. 1920's. BTW Citron is just the colour name Crown Crystal used. Other colours are Rosaline (pink), Blue & Green as well as Carnival Glass.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. I have had a great day thus far. My swim, my big walk & time with DD,Miss P & Darcy , while Miss P did Sporty Kids. Weather was perfect but it was starting to look very black and stormy out to sea. Rain was heading inland.
Don @donscns I only have 2 pieces of Crown Crystal Citron out to part with.Plenty more in the cabinet LOL
Diane @dianes On the right under Glass Chatroom Board Links there is a link ”Welcome to Glass Chat” click on that and you will find another link ”Glass Down Under” There you will see a lot of my citron glass as well as other glass of mine
Here are the 2 pieces I am planning on parting with

  • @dianes DIANE ... my references still say UNKNOWN for the maker of Psyche and Cupid. I have a book on Riverside and it is not listed in it.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. All day yesterday was housecleaning. Today is balancing checkbooks and wrapping graduation presents so far.

@dianes DIANE ... the pattern is MODERN by McKee Bros., ca. 1880s

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I almost don't sell on eBay anymore. Wearing of them squeezing every penny possible out of me and offering no protection from unscrupulous buyers. I really haven't read much about the Global Shipping and for the amount of items I sell, I didn't find any advantage to offering worldwide shipping so I quit doing so.

HI to JULIE, CARL, DON, and GEORGE.

  • @dianes Diane...Not a problem! I love trying to ID glass because I get to learn something new. Did you ever find out anything about your pretty vase and did you sell it: http://i50.tinypic.com/29ygidj.jpg Hope you don't mind me asking.

  • Good evening, glassies. Been on the go all day. Finally home and slowing down. Still have not had time to unload all the items I bought in Joplin on Wednesday.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a extra battery for my camera. It cost a pretty penny. I got it a couple of weeks ago. Got it all charged up and put in it’s little plastic case. Needed it yesterday when my battery gave out and can’t find it anywhere. Searching high and low….

I really want to take some picks and list some more, but it looks like it’s not going to happen for a while. I have volunteer time from 11 to 3 tomorrow at our local museum. Maybe when I get home I can list.

@dianes DIANE … looking forward to see your pictures.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY … want to see pics of your buys too.

    Waving HI to all glassies!

  • Good morning, glassies. Been busy as this week I have to make my round to the malls so I've been tagging stuff. I also need to get some things listed but I just haven't had enough time to do so. I'm working on a project to crochet blankets for my grandchildren. I'm VERY slow at crocheting. I've spent hours upon hours each day this week and still am only a third of the way through the first blanket. I do love to crochet though.

@glassusa BOB ... how in the world do you get so lucky to come across a pair of everglades. I've never even seen them in person, only in books. They are gorgeous.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... How beautiful all the flowers must be and it really sounds grand that you have a porch where you can relax and enjoy them.

@sjell BETTY ... always enjoy seeing you check into the Chat.

@panishklo MARSON ... thanks for all the chocolate! I surely enjoy it! 🙂

@mainewildrose SUE ... so glad you were able to ID the Heisey for Diane. I'm at a loss when it comes to what I call the Colonial patterns. I printed out what you posted. Thanks!

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... glad your weather is turning so nice and your swap meets will be starting up again. Always enjoy your adventures with traveling and your markets.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... It was my little East Coast Washington D.C. granddaughter who broke her arm. As you can tell in the picture, she was very proud of her new bright pink cast...the doctor let her pick the color. http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/665407292_o.jpg

@dianes DIANE … that is a lovely Three Panel berry set…yes, by Richards & Hartley #25, ca. 1885...and it has NOT been reproduced. Haven’t had time to check your CHS.

@fyrqueen KATIE … you just wear me out with all your yard work and work about the house. Picking up a rag to wipe dust off the piano is a big deal for me.

@wellingtonct LAURIE ... would love to see pics of your green pitcher and your milk glass "thing". 🙂 Glad your snow is melting.

@george GEORGE ... hope you and your DW are doing well.

@donscns DON ... will you have a summer break before long? Or do you also have summer classes for your wee souls?

More coffee needed. I will take a photo later and show you all the blanket that is taking up all my time...whether you want to see it or not. 😀

  • Diane @dianes How big or how small are the "lamp parts" Another thought that crossed my mind, if they were small enough was parts to an old brass bed

  • Good morning, glassies. Had a strange, full, unsettling day and evening yesterday. Today is a new fresh day and all looks well today.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... a belated Happy Anniversary! Glad you had a pleasant day.

@amber1986 AMBER ... what a beautiful way to celebrate your Melodie's life. ((((Hugs))))

@george GEORGE ... I do hope both you and Anne are doing well.

@dianes DIANE ... wishing all the best for you and your DH. Will be sending up prayers at Mass this morning for his speedy recovery.

So many glassies I missed saying HI to yesterday....a big HELLO to ALL!!!!

  • Diane @dianes (((((hugs))))) I know exactly what you are going through
Shelly @shellyrae37 I am looking forward to my next swap, seems like forever since I did one. I head off on Thursday, so have been getting stuff sorted, priced and packed today.
    Julie

  • Shelly @shellyrae37 I am glad you had a lovely celebration with your DH. Yes a sense of humour is very important in a marriage, as well as in life.
The lady that had all those items at the garage sale had done it all above board. She didn't just say she would have all that there. It was held in a big hall and she was there before me and had been browsing all the tables and picking what she wanted and putting in a pile up the back of the hall. I just got all excited when I saw all the "good" stuff there away from everyone , thought I had fond myself some forgotten treasures LOL
Amber @amber Happy Birthday to Melodie and big big big (((((((hugs))))))) to you.
George @george I hope both you and Ann adapt, which I am sure you will.
Diane @dianes Sending strong positive thoughts your way.
    Julie

  • @dianes DIANE ... apparently the name on Replacements is different. They do not have that pattern so there is no price shown. But I think you could just compare it to other cuts similar. They call the pattern SULTANA http://www.replacements.com/webquote/HAWSUL.htm#8316431

  • @dianes Diane, those candlesticks were made/sold by both L.E. Smith and L.G. Wright. Based on what I've read in the Breeze's Moon & Star book, Tom Felt's L.E. Smith book, and James Measell/Red Roetteis' book on L.G. Wright, there is no way to tell the difference. However, I think that L.E. Smith made more Colonial Blue pieces (the color of your candlesticks), so it's likely they were made by L.E. Smith. As far as selling them, just say 6" Moon & Star candlesticks in Colonial Blue -- a "moonie" (what Moon & Star collectors call themselves) will be happy with that description.

  • @dianes DIANE ... the link worked fine for me too. Just lovely lovely things in your store. I didn't know what Hawkes sherbets you were talking about because I couldn't find a link. Have you tried Replacements... http://www.replacements.com/crystal/HAW.htm

  • @dianes Diane - your URL shows up just fine. Ye Old Jewelry Shoppe looks good to me. The link in your profile worked fine !

  • @dianes Diane, it all depends on the piece of Moon & Star. There are some pieces that are different, some colors that only one or the other sold, and some that can't be told apart. In addition, there are "original" pieces (Adams) and newer pieces made by Weisher (usually marked). Post photos of what you have and I'll try to help.

  • Good afternoon, glassies. I’ve been out running a bunch of errands. Just got home and got all the groceries put up. I have church later this evening so for awhile I think I’ll hit the recliner and just enjoy the new book that was in the mail…”Lotus: Depression Glass and Fare Beyond” by Dean Six.

@dianes DIANE … take a look at my profile. I just typed in Ruby Lane Shop and the url under the ”About Me” section. Or check Marty’s @sellingthings to see how he set up all his different sites.

DIANE … I don’t know how to tell the Smith from the Wright but I believe it is NANCY P @jerseystar who collects Moon & Star and may be able to help when she checks in.

@reen REEN … how in the world do you keep up with yourself! Yikes, what a bunch of work! I’m sure it’s greatly appreciated.

@10bbg10 HELEN … so glad to see you checking in. I was just thinking about you the past couple of days and just starting to wonder if I should worry.

HI to TOADBOY, GEORGE, IRENE M, RUTH and KATIE!

  • @dianes that Creamer and Sugar set is soooo beautiful and it would look nice with all the other sets around here. I don't have one like that. 🙂 and I love that vase too.

  • @dianes DIANE ... where do you sell? I checked your profile and didn't see any link for a selling venue.

  • @dianes DIANE ... well, just knock me over! I love the vase and the sugar creamer set takes my breath away. It's just soooo gorgeous!

  • @dianes Diane can you post a picture of a section of the border straight on. I need to see the detail.
    george

  • @sellingthings MARTY … I’m not quite certain what you mean when you say you want an ID. It is as you said …Daisy and Button, Degenhart , probably 1970s. All the new vaseline…Degenhart, Boyd, Mosser glows like crazy. Shown on page 77 of TAGF’s Degenhart Glass and Paperweights. BV in 2003 for Vaseline was $12/15.

@wattleihavenext JULIE … The Steamfest sounds like great fun and very interesting. Do you attend?

@wellingtonct LAURIE … Good to see you. Hope all is well.

@dianes DIANE … Oh, I wish I could help you as that is just a gorgeous vase, but I haven’t a clue.

@carma CARL … glad to know it might be the internet and not my computer. I finally shut the computer off and went out and ran errands. Finally got back on and got my items listed.

@10bbg10 HELEN … sure been a while since you posted and was starting to worry about you. Glad to see you posting.

HI to CHRIS, GEORGE, MARSON, KATIE, FENTON, and SHELLY!

  • @dianes : I live in the mountains of western Maine & it can get extremely cold here in the winter. I've seen it -42 below here, with windchills of -65 below. Rare to get that cold, but it does happen. This past winter we had one extended period of sub-zero temps that lasted 11 days.

  • @dianes Diane: Well I surely don't know the what, who or when, but I know I love them!! Those are very cool!! Where do you find all of your goodies?! And no one here ever thinks anyone is dumb...although I know what you mean, because I feel that way myself when I post for ID's...but there is just TOO much glass out there to know everything! And there are some great folks here that specialize in a certain area of glass and enjoy being able to help those of us that don't know....so PLEASE keep posting....if for no other reason than so I can see your pretties! 🙂

  • HAPPY EASTER

Shelly @shellyrae37 When I was in Bali last year I had planned to go parasailing but the weather didn't co-operate. First day we had booked, it turned out not windy enough, so we rebooked and that day turned out to be too windy. So it is still on my bucket list. I won't Bungee jump though
Betty @sjell your mention of starting a bush fire triggered another memory. We used to go down over into the paddocks and hide in the drainpipes under the road and smoke. Once we accidently set the paddock on fire and had to run to the fire station which was just a minute away and report the fire. Of course we didn't know how it started, when asked LOL But I am sure we had guilt written all over our faces .
raoflmaopmp , yes we were sweet little girls . Funny my DD was totally different to me, she was really truly a sweet little girl. Now this little Granddaughter I am afraid has too much of Grandma's mischiefness in her LOL She is going to keep everyone on their toes LOL
Katie @fyrqueen don't you just shudder sometimes at the things we did and wonder how on earth we made it this far LOL
    Don @donscns Good hunting
Lainey @favoritegram LOL we used to tow each other around on skate boards behind push bikes. Lived on a steep hill OH the thirll of hurtling down it and crashing into the paddock at the end LOL I am still amazed that I have never broken a bone
Suzy @suzy Good luck with your sales
Diane @dianes DDG pitcher. Is it Moser?

Thanks everyone for the childhood memories. Weren't we an adventerous mob? LOL

  • @dianes Diane That is, as they say around here, a DDG (drop dead gorgeous) piece of glass! I asked before, but I think maybe you missed the post...do you sell on ebay? Or another venue? I'd like to see your items...I know there is a way to post a link to your profile here, but I'm not sure how.

  • @dianes : Another option is to take it to any antique shops or dealers that are reasonably nearby. Have them look at it, see what they think of it. Use a little smarts, play it by ear, take note if they show any fascination or interest & tell tell them to make you an offer. Then you won't have to ship it & anything you get for it is gravy.

  • @dianes : Actually, you might just be surprised at what something like that could bring in the right venue. It's just oddball enough (and obviously handmade) that it's going to attract some attention. With little or no real money invested in it, I'd consign it to a decent quality auction. You've got nothing to lose & you might end up pleasantly surprised.

  • @dianes DIANE ... actually I think it is quite pretty...but then again I AM from Oklahoma. I searched about for your friend's cranberry stemware last night but just had no luck at matching it.

Well, I got two things listed. Back to folding yet another load of laundry......

  • @dianes Diane...I don't know the stems, but they sure are beautiful! Cranberry glass is one of my faves.

  • @dianes Diane, do you sell on ebay or elsewhere? I would love to see your listings, as you find some beautiful glass. There is a way to put a link to your listings on your profile here, but I’m not sure how to do it….but I know someone here could tell you how to.

  • @dianes DIANE … always double check but the really problematic books are his Early American Pattern Glass books. Diane, I have gone back and triple checked and those are 2 different bowls unless I'm seeing somethings different on my screen. 😯

  • @dianes DIANE … The second bowl is BEADED MOON AND STARS according to Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass, 7th ed by Carwile...page19.

  • @dianes DIANE .... here you go for the Irish Coffee http://www.replacements.com/webquote/AVIAVI5.htm#9494992

@george GEORGE ... so sorry to hear you've been having difficulty. Hope you are resting up and following doctor's orders.

    HI to FRAN2 and MARSON!

  • @dianes Diane .... On the home page of RL there are 3 tabs at the left-hand top.... SHOP ... SELL ... RELAX. If you click on RELAX you should get this screen http://www.rubylane.com/court/relax.html . If you look down the left-hand column you will see where the How-To videos are.

  • @dianes DIANE ... I joined in November and lo and behold they raised their prices this month for the first time in 6 years. They have all kinds of videos to explain all the different workings and area of Ruby Lane. They really are great training videos. The fee structure as just the cheapest and simplest stage would be $54 monthly. That would allow for 80 items in your store. Additional items in your store are 30 cents a month. Right now there is a beginning set up fee for $15. What I like about RL is that most everyone is that there are no FVFs! YEA! I figure it's like having a small mall booth without having to pay a commission. I also like the quality of the things offered.

  • @dianes DIANE ... I did a lot of searching, but no luck in finding a match for your stemware.

  • @dianes That is Indian Moderene Classic. Why did the they think it was Westmoreland?

  • @dianes Your sugar is McKee Bros "Modern" aka Scroll with Flowers. Found in a 1883 catalog. McCain got it wrong.

  • Got one foot out the door running to church...

@dianes DIANE .... The pattern is MODERN (OMN) aka SCROLL WITH FLOWERS, made in the 1880s by McKee Brothers.

  • @dianes DIANE ... as @jerseystar NANCY P said there are scads of errors in the Edwards & Carwile books. This is what the Pattern Glass School has to say about it. http://www.patternglass.com/BkStore/bkstore.htm There is a link you can click on to see all the errors. At the bottom of that page you can click on yet another link and see all the errors in their 2nd pattern glass book.

  • @dianes Diane & @songbreeze Gail, aah -- the Feathered Oval attribution came from Edwards & Carwile, and we know how often their id's were correct. Diane, I'd just go with the Cambridge number.

@fyrqueen Katie, just as with photos that we post, the video has to be hosted somewhere in order to be posted here (it sounds adorable!)

    Nancy

  • @dianes DIANE ... my sources show FEATHERED OVAL as a very similar, however different, pattern by an Unknown Maker.

  • @dianes Diane, Try posting on the Jewelry Board. Maybe some help requests will get something started over there.
And BTW:::: A gathering of Catholic cardinals picked a new pope from among their midst on Wednesday — choosing the cardinal from Argentina, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the first leader of the church ever chosen from South America.

  • Oh phooey! I lost my post!

Trust me I said HI to everyone and @dianes DIANE your pitcher is Cambridge Glass Co. (#2579; 1903); Federal Glass Co. (#2579; 1914)

  • Good morning, glassies. Running around like a chicken with my head chopped off. Just dropping in for a sec before heading back out.

@dianes DIANE ... Looks Like pattern No 115 aka CANTERBURY

  • Good morning, glassies.....yawwwwwwnnnnnnnn. 🙂

@dianes DIANE ... using the same link that SHELLY gave you, type "Minton" in the search box for the gold encrusted decoration.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... would love to see a picture of your new items and also your fan vase.

@fyrqueen KATIE ... did you get our thunderstorm last night? It's still raining this morning, but should end here by noon, then a touch of a cold front moving in for a day or two. That will only put us in the 40s for daytime and then we start climbing back up to 60s and possibly 70s by the end of the week.

  • @dianes Diane - have you tried ChataboutDG.com ? That is a reference site with resources galore. You have to sign up (free) but it is worth the time if you want to learn about Depression glass.

  • Good evening, glassies. Still putting the Elliptical together....slowly but surely. Might prove to be the most exercise I get from the thing. 😆

@dianes DIANE ... as REEN said it looks to be Westmorelands 1800 line. It is the majo bowl. That shape can be seen on page 131...and the flower design on page 132 of Chas West Wilson's "Westmoreland Glass" book.

@shanigirl RUTH ... lovely set...don't let DON see it or he may try to hijack it from you. Sorry, though, that I'm no help with an ID.

@glassusa BOB ... oh, good grief, I'd be happy if I sold 26 items from one of my booths in a month, much less in one morning! Fainting.....

YIKES!!!! a HUGE peal of thunder. Getting ready to storm. Hope we don't lose power.

  • @dianes --- Diane , you ask and we all learn. So pop 'em up there.

  • @dianes DIANE ... ask as many ID's a day as you want. That's the whole purpose of the Glass Board. We chat in between just waiting for a chance to study a new posting and hopefully being able to help with an ID.

@wattleihavenext JULIE ... good luck with this swap meet. Sounds like a good deal with minimal expensive and only an hour's drive.

@newtonenterprises JIM D ... exactly what I'm afraid the Elliptical will become! I don't have a good track record for actually using exercise equipment. Hopefully this time I really will use it, but it has to be in my front room where I can watch tv at the same time or I can guarantee that I will NEVER use it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... I must talk a good story, because, believe me, I accomplish very little most of the time. 😀 I've made a bit more headway with putting the Elliptical together, but I'm really taking my time so I don't screw it up by trying to rush through the instructions.

My friends should be here before long and off we go for catfish. About an 3/4 of an hour drive to get to the place.

  • Good Morning everyone. Been very busy with lots needed doing around here. But I decided to stop and have a rest and try to catch up a little bit here on the Glass Board

Diane @dianes Yes Vallerysthal did do a Duck CAD but I don’t think this is who made your duck. Colour looks right but the base is different for one thing.
    Julie

  • @dianes DIANE checking Newbounds ”Collector’s Encyclopedia of Milk Glass” on page 63, looks like your duck. The caption says ”Wavy Base Duck, 4 3/4” tall 8 1/2” long. Originally a Challinor, Taylor product, part of their Farm Yard Assortment advertised in 1891…. Challinor’s base has a 3/4” rim with wavy pattern on both sides. Reproduced by Westmoreland and by Fenton in light blue with satin finish (1977). Also in production by U.S. Glass. Westmoreland’s duck is marked with their logo and is thicker and heavier than the original, although it is only 8” long. This is a difficult piece to accurately judge the maker. The realistic glass eyes are missing on the duck pictured.”

  • @dianes DIANE ... I went to Amazon in their book category and typed in Baccarat Crystal and also Baccarat Glass and a few books came up in the search.

@sellingthings MARTY ... just lovely arrangements your DW has created. Wish I had a talent for decorating.

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... I do believe you brought me good luck! An item I listed on RL the other day just sold. Happy me. 🙂

  • @dianes , Diane, I have owned a couple pieces of Phoenix / Consolidated . Almost had a dealer battle over the first piece that I found at a garage sale for pennies on the actual value.I did not know what it was but the mall owner and and one very experienced seller knew. In fact the mall owner bought it before I got it IDed. After I got it IDed I insisted that I be allowed to return his purchase price so I could put it up for bids to all the mall dealers. Your piece has a great resemblance to the pieces what I have owned.
And by the way of a health report. I am up to 89 lbs this morning. Forward! Forward!

  • @dianes DIANE ... sure wish I could help, but your lovely glass is just out of my range. I did look through the one book I have on Phoenix/Consolidated but I didn't see anything similar. I don't have any other resources for Consolidated other than that one book.

@glassusa BOB ... smacking myself in the forehead, as it never occurred to me to look in the TAGF's 40s-50s-60s. I was using the Fire-King website and the Anchor Hocking book. Even so, I don't know that I could have matched his pics up with his lists. Surely appreciate that you can and you did. 🙂 The ones I have are definite restaurant ware as they are very thick and very heavy.

    HI to MARSON!

  • @fran2 FRAN 2 ... I hope no one is keeping track of all the times I CAN'T ID a piece of stemware! That far outweighs the times I get "stumble lucky" onto an ID. 😀

@dianes DIANE ... I'll check my books, but what are the measurements of the vase. How tall is it? I thought Wavecrest when I first looked at it. If someone told you it was Consolidated did they by chance tell you what they were referencing?

  • Hi, glassies. Busy day and waiting for my sister to come and have supper.

@dianes DIANE … Check out BRYCE #355 for your stemware. The "Irish Coffee" is considered a handled footed Ice Tea by Replacements. http://www.replacements.com/webquote/BRY355BLOIB.htm#8804166

  • Good morning everyone. All rested up after my weekend swap.
Gail @songbreeze. That flooded swap is the one I am headed to next. This weekend swap was bad for me but others I know did do well. Pretty glass just wasn't what most of the buyers were after. It was mainly all blokey stuff, garaganalia. Also I was not in my usual site right on the main walk way through to the display pavilion. Most of the woman just don't go wandering about the fields looking at the stalls cause so many are all "blokey" related.I was in the very back row amoung the the 'junkie' stuff. A few of my regulars did find me but they had already done a lot of spending beforehand. They said they didn't think I was there. Oh well you take the good with the bad.
Diane @dianes I am sorry you have not been well.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone Having a cuppa and then heading off to take Miss P to visit Mum
Diane @dianes DDG but sorry I can't help

    Happy Birthday Diane

  • @dianes DIANE ... Sorry, I can't help with an ID, but golly, that is a beautiful mayo set. Sure hope someone can help you with it. Has a shape I'm not familiar with. Hopefully someone will be around soon who can help you.

    HI to MARSON!

  • Good afternoon everyone. Finally getting a chance to sit and rest awhile, while I have a bite to eat and then I must get back to sorting and packing etc.
Thanks everyone for the Welcome back
Bob @glassusa Prices were way too high. Probably on average at what I looked at, was 3x dearer then what I would see it priced in my State. From the look of a lot of the Antique shops in Queensland, they have done a few trips to England bought container loads of the glassware there (very cheap over there) & shipped it back. I have friends that do the trip themselves each year and do the same with various items. Not so much with glassware though because of size and weight. They say that lots of stalls at the Fairs & markets in Uk are choc-a block full of glassware and all priced very cheaply.
Carl @carma good luck at your Garage Sale. I hope it all sells for you.
Shelly @shellyrae37 No never bought one piece of green glass. I did buy a set of Vallerysthal Blue Opaline stems to resell on eBay once I get a chance to do some more listings.
I hope you get a clear bill of health from your DR.
Gail @songbreeze you are always busy busy busy 🙂 I was just recently told by a friend that it is better to wear out than to rust out. 😆
So sorry about the poor little kitty 🙁
    @dianes Welcome to the board.
    Julie..back to it..

  • @dianes DIANE ... Yes, we post about different things, but 98% of the time it will be glass because that is what most of us collect, or buy and sell, and it's what we know the most about. If you scroll down the right hand column, you will see some of the other boards who can help with different items.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... that is so funny about the book. Absolutely something I would do. 🙂

@fyrqueen KATIE ... so glad your sister got her dogs back. I can imagine how anxious she was.

@jmart8248 IRENE M ... I don't care how a potato is cooked as long as it is a potato!!! I LOVE potatoes, any kind, cooked anyway. I don't think I've eaten for the day if I haven't had a potato.

Reached 111° today and suppose to be the same if not hotter tomorrow. 😯

  • @dianes Glad to have you join this group. I think you'll find the people here very congenial and ready to help when and if we can.

@songbreeze Gail, sorry about the kitten. You try so hard to take care of everything and everybody.

Maybe some of you can get a chuckle from this bit of my reading history. I currently have two books which I am reading. One book is by my recliner in the family / computer room. The other is at my bedside. Each book is a series of unrelated stories. Yesterday I had put the family room book down when in the midst of a story. Then when I started reading my bedside book I got confused for a moment. thinking but what happened to Boone--- the character in the family room book.
Do you think that might be a sign of senility?
Anyway, I am off again for my bed & book. So goodnight and don't let the bedbugs bite.

Well, wound up putting 100 miles on the car today. Went and retrieved the little groggy drunken cat. Then went to friends to help unpack some things. Returned home and checked on the cat...at it was a dead as a doornail. Poor little thing was just a pitiful bag of bones and I guess it was all too much for her. Called the vet. Then drove north out of town for the third time today to the vet and left the little cat behind. I'm going to crash in the recliner shortly and watch Wipeout and just relax and laugh. 😀
