Good morning, glassies.
@fran dbfrogs FRAN … Good luck on your Bunco night. Win or lose, I know you always have such an enjoyable time with all your friends.
@neacenacks MABLE … this is a really good site for Fire King and gives you the time-line for the marks.
http://www.spglass.com/firekingnet.html
http://www.spglass.com/fk-faqs.html@10bbg10 HELEN …. the possibility of a mould being reworked might be the difference in the bases…partiicularly given the history of the pattern. The dishes are EAPG and the pattern is MADORA (OMN) aka Arrowhead in Oval aka Style aka Ramona etc. Made by Bryce, Higbee & Co. 1905; J.B. Higbee Glass Co. 1907); New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Co. 1915; Jefferson Glass Co. 1920-1925.

@neacenacks Mable, the anchor in a square is the recent Anchor Hocking logo which means your piece is relatively new.

Possum @neacenacks Just put the auction number in the search box at the top, same place you would use if looking for an item by description words and you should be able to find it
Julie -
Went back to help my sister for an hour and it turned out to be 5 hours. I'm waaaaaay behind on what I need to do here at home.
@neacenacks MABLE Possum ... be sure you use 2 "S's" in Mosser. Big difference between Moser art glass and the new Mosser glass.
@clementine30 ... Sure wish I could help with your lovely little stemware, but I just have no clue.
-
@neacenacks MABLE Possum … This catalog page will show it in green http://www.mosserglass.com/html/products.htm. They have the pattern as two words, EYE WINKER. My first thought was a toothpick holder but looking at the catalog page I see there are 2 small items…one probably a toothpick and the other, hmmmmmmmm….
Opening up the catalog page, I'd say yours is the toothpick http://www.mosserglass.com/assets/pdf/Mosser-Retail-Catalog-2011.pdf
-
@neacenacks MABLE Possum ... the original pattern was an EAPG patttern. It is called EYEWINKER. Pretty certain this is a reproduction made by Mosser.

Good morning, glassies. Wow, I slept 10 yours and woke up to a beautiful bright day full of sunshine...also to a wonderful cup of coffee because my sister and I stopped at Starbuck's in Joplin yesterday, and I bought a pound of freshly ground coffee, both regular and decaf. yum yum yum yum yum
@fran dbfrogs FRAN ... so glad you are enjoying the cyber coffee. Sometimes I wonder if peeps see the little "click here" and know that their morning coffee is behind there. Do miss the little gif images you always posted. So happy for you that you will be able to attend your friends wedding and go to Mexico. How delightful!
@10bbg10 HELEN ... how fortunate that you were able to meet Mary Wetzel what a enjoyable memory to have of her.
@reen REEN ... my DIL has a lovely bracelet left to her by her great aunt. I tried taking pics, not very good though. I need to get over to the jewelry chat and see if anyone can help me ID it for her.
@carma CARL ... you've truly had some bizarre weather this month. Glad you got a respite with 3 nice days.
@sellingthings MARTY ... sorry to hear about having to go to the Doctor with sinus problems. Spring and Fall are beautiful times of year but just play havoc with those with allergies. Hope the doc can give you some relief.
@neacenacks MABLE Possum ... I loved your Possum ID on eBay for so long I still have to call you that! 😀 I believe it was Shelly who sold that Hollie Hobbie mug, but I think that was a complete fluke with a good bidding war. This is a list of the completed auctions for the past two weeks on Hollie Hobbie mugs, and as you can see, some can be popular but none are reaching the stratosphere like Shelly's did. CLICK HERE

@decoqueen Janice, Thank you. The Tiffin Stem is stunning. Thank you for sharing.
@neacenacks Mable, when I had that trouble, I had to reset my computer to a set point before I had installed the new toolbar.
I'm not that good with these confusers but I'm sure others will have better ways of dealing with your trouble.@donscns Don, Thanks for setting me straight. I will certainly give Gail the thanks and credit she deserves. Still, it was very nice of you to cover the coffee during her trip.

@neacenacks mable POSSUM ... heeheehee about the good looking guys hauling me off. Forget the good looking, I'd settle for companionable (is there such a word !). 😀 Going for a week to visit my DS, DIL, and grandbaby. Will probably be able to use his computer to stay up-to-date on all the happenings here.
Got to go run errands. BBL

Here I am 'awake & up' on the other end of the night. But not for long. I need help with a couple of IDs but that will have to wait until this afternoon . Nothing of great importance anyway.
Seems like this was the day for buyer and other eBay problems. I have one of those, too. Sold a pair of glasses which the buyer says has slightly colored lens instead of clear. When the item is inexpensive and I have little invested , I sometimes tell the buyer to just do a discard or give away. But this time even if I could persuade them to keep the glasses I would risk a negative feedback. I think I'll tell the buyer to do a return with full refunds.
@neacenacks /possum Your remark sounded like you were quite ill . I hope you are feeling much better.
Gail Have a good trip and take lots of pictures.
marymelodie Your mountain scenery pictures were beautiful. We like our Indiana hill side. Guess being former Arkansas hill billies we need to be where we can make use of that short leg. Love being close to three of our 4 children, too.
And shelly . My oh my! A great great grandma! Congratulations !!!!I I probably will never make that level.
Don I'm curious! I take it that you are assoicated with a nursery school. Are you a class room teacher or an administrator? I learned just this last week that one of my neices who has been a special ed teacher for many years has now been moved to admisnistrative duties. Don't know but I suspsect that some physical impairment has caused her to make this move.
Julie, I think the anniversaries of our losses are often more difficult for us. Probably another of those various stages of grief which we are told to expect.I hope these come less often as the days and months go by. Many thoughts and prayers for you an others who are in the process of grieving.

Good Morning everyone, cool and raining here today.
I am glad yesterday is behind me.The funeral brought back some painful memories and to top it off they played one of the songs I played at Gordon's funeral, so needless to say my sister and myself totally lost it for awhile. Thanks for the cyber hugs. It does help.@carma GO SAINTS!!
Alicia @4931nextdoor what a wonderful proposal It's so lovely to know that romance is still alive & kicking
Possum @neacenacks sorry to hear you are not well (((hugs))))@fran
Happy Birthday Fran -
Well, I think the lady who does my dog's grooming is ill. I've tried for the last week to get him in for an appointment and no one has answered. I finally HAD to bathe him today. That wouldn't be such an ordeal but I have no bathtub. So I had to straddle him across my small double kitchen sink. Needless to say I now have water dripping off the ceiling and down the walls. The really hard part comes in trying to get him dry. He doesn't really have fur so much as hair with an undercoat of cotton...horrible stuff to try to dry. This has been my whole afternoon. His feet and ears are still wet.
@neacenacks POSSUM ... oh such sweet words and I feel so bad because I know nothing about lamps...just stone dumb where lamps are concerned. Sure do hope some one will be on soon who can help you. Sorry to hear you are ill. (((((HUGS)))))
@donscns DON ... LOL thanks for being so kind in the face of all my confusion and changes.
@suzy SUZY ... definitely looks like a beaver to me.

@neacenacks ... follow these instructions .. particular #4 where it says to click on LINE 4
1-Click here--> http://tinypic.com/
2-Click Browse and find your picture on your computer. Double click your picture twice and that will enter the info into the box at tinypicIMPORTANT: Before you hit that green Upload button, see the box that says Resize/ Default. Click on the tiny arrow, and pick Message Board 640 x 480. That option gives a nice sized picture that uploads quickly.
3-Click Upload Image
4-Click on the 4th line and it will turn blue. Right click with your mouse and Copy
5-Come back to the Glass Chatroom Board message box and paste in the Message box -
@neacenacks ... Good morning, glassies.
Mable/neacenacks ... actually you did the html correctly for posting a picture. However, this board does not support pictures.
To make a link FORGET html. Simply copy the URL and paste it here.
-
@neacenacks MABLE .. Like Fran2 said, I go back through the eBay invoice month and hope the listing is still usable. Like Carl said there is a limit to how far back you can go. Also I go to My eBay and go to "Unsold" and at the top I can change the time period to 90 days. I have a store and Selling Manager so I don't know if that makes a difference.

@neacenacks MABLE ... sorry, I don't know your vases. It would help if you gave the measurements, how tall... and if 2 of them have a pontil, and if so if it is broken or polished. Trying to look at a shape sideways is a bit difficult so it would be easier if the one vase was upright. Also it is hiding the foot of the green one and often the stem/foot/base is helpful with an ID.

Good morning, glassies. Lovely start to the day here in NE Oklahoma.
@scott SCOTT … looks like an absolutely terrific time to be had for the entire week! Oh, how I would love to be wandering through all those booths!
@neacenacks MABLE … like you, I love looking at people’s collections. I buy to sell. I collect nothing. I have a small little house, very few visitors, my children live 1500 miles away. No point in collecting stuff when for the most part I choose to be on the road rather than in the house. I love going to the malls and seeing my stuff in my booth waiting to be sold! 🙂

I guess yesterday really tired me out because I just woke up from a marathon 3-hour afternoon nap!
@shellyrae37 SHELLY … I’ve only the one sister. I drove her to the Heart Hospital in Tulsa yesterday where they did an angiogram. After she had that time with the chest pains and I went over and stayed with her several days, she finally saw her regular doctor when he returned from vacation. She since had blood work, EKG, and appointment with a cardiologist and then scheduled for this angiogram. As it turns out everything is just fine and doing great.
@ginnyrose CAROL … what a beautiful color of your candleholders. I’ve never seen that color before. I love stretch glass.
@fyrqueen KATIE … what an absolutely adorable furkid!
@neacenacks MABLE … so sorry, but haven’t a clue on your candlesticks. Very pretty though.
@shanigirl RUTH … I think it’s highly likely it is tarnish black. Try a wee spot with silver polish….do NOT press hard as silver overlay is often quite thin and can be rubbed off. But with just a gently rubbing any silver overlay I’ve ever had responds beautifully to being cleaned up.
@glassusa BOB …. congrats on your finds!

@fyrqueen KATIE ... Zildjian cymbals & Ludwig drum set sure brings back memories for me. My father was a band director and when he retired he opened a music store. I remember him talking about how top of the line the Zildjian cymbols were.
@dorbitz JIML ... I hit that reload button on eBay so many times and it always made my teeth grit. Never could figure out why they didn't format it someone other than right below the post messages. 🙂
@neacenacks POSSUM ... I'm with Jayne, going to start wishing you a Happy Birthday right now so you can have lots of days to enjoy!

@neacenacks : what Gail, Shelly, and Don said...
-
@neacenacks POSSUM ... Also, to post the URL to a photo, you do NOT need to use any html. Just post the URL as you see Shelly did for your photo link. The reason it didn't work when you did it as you did not have a space between JimD's name and the start of the URL.
So your link looked like this... and would not work
JimDhttp://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/l563/neacenacks/20110620_18.jpgBut this would have worked...

Good morning, glassies. My word, the morning is nearly over. I need that coffee and frog big time now. I slept in way tooo late and my feet will be flying all day trying to get everything done.
@neacenacks POSSUM ... I'm just going to repeat what DON said. Look up here on the right where the tabs are....Home; Members; How To Manual; Guidelines; About. Click on the "How To" Manual Tab. That will give you the instructions on HTML tags that will work on this board. If it's not in this manual, it will probably not work on this board. Be sure when you use the tags that you have a SPACE before the start of your string and after the end of it. If you fail to put that space there, the computer can't read your command correctly.

@maryb MARY ... Talk about LTNS! So good to see you and so happy you joined us here. Hope all has been well for you.
@newtonenterprises JIMD ... ROTFLOL! If we are ever able to post gif's it will be fun. Maybe we can pick up a new sidekick...a dog or a cat. They always do so many things that can bring a smile too. In the meantime, you just keep posting our morning frog. 😀
@neacenacks MABLE ... Thanks. That was a fast pic in bad lighting so my wee camera can actually even do a bit better than that. It's a little Sony Cyber-shot. I'm happy with it. I don't know your hobnail item. I hope someone does as it would help to ID my red hobnail item that looks so much alike with that straight stem and the plain band around the top.
http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/4/4/3/3/6/9/webimg/479394988_o.jpg@sellingthings ... What a pretty vase and what lovely glass. So sorry that I haven't a clue.
-
@thrifysenior67 , Jayne .... Terrific! I see you got the kinks worked out and were able to register. Super!
@neacenacks , Possum ... That's a really big picture you have of the base of your vase, but unfortunately, it is rather out of focus so it makes it hard to see the points that Julie was asking about...way it is finished, how the glaze is done etc. Perhaps you try another picture of it more in focus.
-
@neacenacks ... you left "/IMG" on the end of the URL. Of course, no picture shows for us.
Here is the URL with that part deleted. http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/l563/neacenacks/P6170009_01.jpg We should be able to see it now. -
@neacenacks, Possum ... Just going to repeat what Julie said...you have to remove the IMG that is showing in front and back of the link before you post your message. If the IMG is still showing the picture won't show up.
@dolores1953 ... Hi, there! Be sure and check out the tab above right that says "How To" manual. Alot of fun stuff there.

Possum @neacenacks The bottom of a piece of pottery can tell a lot about a piece, the way it is finished, how the glaze is done etc It can be clues to who made it. I am not real sure you will get any answers here amoung the Glassies. But some do deal in Pottery a bit , so hopefully someone can help
