• Don @donscns I know you are kept busy on the Facebook Glass groups now

  • Good Morning. Brrrr it is a little nippy here this morning. 4 Celsius but the cold wind is making it feel colder. Winter is on it's way.

    A little late @donscns

  • @donscns Don, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! See you on FB!

  • @donscns HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Don!!!! Have a great day!!

@carma Carl, we're do to get a lot of rain in NJ starting late tonight. And it even looks like it might warm up a little next week.

@wattleihavenext Julie, so glad the computer issues are finally working out.

  • @donscns Don, congratulations on your daughter's wedding. I love Seattle (we're going out for a long weekend in October). Just in case you get some free time, go to the park by the Space Needle. There's a Dale Chihuly exhibition there that is incredible!

  • @donscns Don, I'm lucky, I have two cats and a basement. Any loud noises (thunder, fireworks, doorbell) and they run down to the basement. They're also hanging out down there during the current heat wave.

So it pretended to rain twice today -- about 20 drops of rain each time. {sigh} Yesterday I got caught in a downpour about 20 minutes away from home. Again, about 20 drops fell at my house. My tomato plants are not happy.

  • Good Morning everyone. Chilly once again this morning but the sun is shining and skies are clear and blue
Carl @carma What an experience for Marley!!! She is a very lucky girl. BUT she works hard for what she is achieving, so it is not really luck is it? . WTG Marley the world is your oyster
Don @donscns Thanks for the BD wishes ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Good afternoon everyone. weather is just perfect. It is hard to believe it is winter right about now. And the same goes for the past 4 days. The mornings have started out chilly but once that sun comes up and gets some warmth in it, it is DDG weather.
Carl @carma condolensces for your loss
    Jim @dorbitz ditto
Shelly @shellyrae37 we had perfect weather for the markets and a good crowd that were spending their $$ Though I didn't sell as much collectable bric a brac. Mostly my sales were for items from my wardrobe, hats , handbags and clothes.I moved a lot of it on . I'm very happy with that
Gail @songbreeze It does my heart good to know that you are getting around so much more
Don @donscns welcome home. Glad you had a lovely time

  • Good Morning, chilly here and it is starting to get a bit windy and overcast. I've Been to early morning bootcamp session and then onto the swimming pool to watch my grandchildren at their swimming lessons. I must say my grand daughter at the age of 5 has a beautiful swimming style. She really smashes it and stands out from the others in her class. Grandson is pretty good too, he is like a fish, always has been from the first time he hit the water, as a baby.
Marson @panishklo It only seems like yesterday you were shoveling snow
Gail @songbreeze The sports carnival was good. Miss P's first so she was a little bewildered at it all, not knowing exactly what to expect. I did post 2 pics on FB
    BTW lovely pics
Don @donscns glad you are enjoying yourself and the weather is good
Katie @fyrqueen Glad your tests are showing no signs of ehrlichiosis

  • Good morning everyone. Quite chilly early this morning when I headed off to bootcamp. The wind has dropped, the sun is out,sky is clear, so looks like we are gearing up for another beautiful day.Which is good because I will be sitting out in the school grounds today for Grand daughters Book Week activities.

    Don @donscns DDG!!

  • Happy Birthday Don @donscns

  • Good Morning everyone. The morning started out a little foggy but sun was shining through. Looked to be a promising day, a repeat of what we have been having. But the dark clouds are coming over and it is actually colder now at 8a.m then it was at 6a.m.
Don @donscns I'm looking forward to seeing the complete water set when the pitcher arrives.
Janice @capecodlady I saw those fires in Alberta on the News yesterday. Very upsetting ๐Ÿ™
Carl @carma Our weather is a little unseasonal too. Try and tell the politicians there is no such thing as climate change.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone, another beautiful day for us down here.
Don @donscns have fun playing in the dirt.
Jim @dorbitz Tinypics frustrates the hell out of me. No other site takes that long to load for me. It's just tinypics . BTW you'll love retirement. Always plenty to do and its doing only what you want and enjoy doing.
Reen @reen glad you had a good day

  • @donscns Don, where in Virginia will you be? I can give you the location of a really nice EAPG-focused dealer in Herndon, VA. (My daughter lived in Ashburn, VA.)

  • I have had a lovely day out with my sister, in this gorgeous warm sunny Autumn weather.Lunch and shopping. I bought myself a new printer/ scanner/fax. One of our big Electronic stores is closing down, so everything must go. There were bargains galore but all I needed was a new printer because mine stopped working last week. Cost me $30 for a new one, all chords and leads included as well as 2 ink cartridges.

whoops Don @donscns sorry I didn't mean to use the "B" word LOL
OMG Gail @songbreeze that is very very scary.

  • Good Morning everyone. It is a glorious sunny Autumn morning.
Carl @carma Nice find. And so lovely to see some glass on the GB.
Don @donscns Hurry up and break the glass drought LOL we need to see more beautiful glass

  • @donscns ---- CONGRATS! I await my first GREAT grandchild in August. At 69, I'll be a GG!!! Time to get a porch rocker and a shawl. Enjoy the little darling. I hope mine's a girl! I have 5 grandsons.... no GD's. Fingers crossed!

Carl --- Husband drooled over that big honkin' fish!!! Family dinner for a month!

@gabla ---- Happy birthday! Eat something decadent!

All you Glassies....... we actually had snow on the Cape yesterday a.m. and this a.m. Just passes through but annoying. They promise 70 degrees by Wed!!! As they say here in New England, if you don't like the weather --- wait a minute. The foolish sun is out now.

Tonight is the Grand Finale of my all time favorite TV saga - Downton Abbey. I've seen it already, as I buy each season on Ebay - can't wait for the every Sunday night installment. No matter. I've seen each episode between 6 & 10 times. Probably watch them all a hundred more. It's my go-to sick day activity. Like my 2nd favorite, The Newsroom, this was extremely well written, well cast, well-acted and very authentic as to historical fact. What will my next all-time fave be? Not much comes out in a year worth viewing. Sadly, the audience has very low expectations of the entertainment industry and they don't disappoint. HOWEVER, we have all those batsh.... crazy debates, town halls, primaries, caucuses, speeches, soundbites, film clips, and general madness that is election year in the US of A! Now THAT'S entertainment! Some of it low drama, some black humor, some the height of the ridiculous and some just plain funny.

Our leaky roof was repaired, the burst pipe in the attic repaired, and the ceiling all that water took down is repaired. I sit here with my fingers crossed looking around for the next calamity. Hope we get the joint sold in Spring before it implodes.

Enjoy Sunday, All! Hope it's a lazy day for everyone.
    Janice

  • @donscns Don, congratulations!!!

@carma Carma, enjoy your time with the granddaughters!!

Lovely sunny day in NJ in the low 50s. Almost starting to feel like spring -- but this winter it's been doing that every week or so. Won't believe it's spring until it stays like this.

  • Good Morning everyone. It's our 2nd day of Autumn here and the early mornings and nights are starting to cool down. Which is a big relief I can sleep much better now and am regaining my energy. The days are still quiet warm though.

Yes have to agree it is getting quieter and quieter in here and I am sure its all Facebook's fault Everyone is over there on different groups. There are so many different ones to join, so it can keep you very busy keeping up with them all.I'm a member of Vintage Glass run by Toby, Art Glass, Glass Lovers database, Sklo Czech Glass, Depression Glass (Aussie Group) Carnival Glass, Collectable Glass & Ceramics (Aussie) Press Glass Collections-Float Bowls (Aussie) Some local Buy Sell And Swap Groups and then I have others such as Australian Pottery, I am also a member of a few Camping and travelling groups for Australia , where I seem to be spending more and more time. Life is very busy in the Facebook World ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

    Don @donscns

  • Good evening to you all. It's been a hot day.
HI Shelly @shellyrae37 Yes I finally did get the lawn done. It took 4 rounds to get it to look acceptable. It was very hard Yakka doing it. And I did get some help from one of my neighbours on day 3. My mower was still struggling to get through it and kept stalling. Neighbour came in with his "you beaut" lawn mower and did part of it for me. I now owe him a 6 pack
OH and its ready to be mowed again, Heat, rain, heat, rain is making it very tropical here and the grass is growing over night.
Don @donscns I had a little giggle to myself. You have a Millard ruby stained stand and I have a Millard Slide On caravan LOL

  • Good Morning everyone dull, overcast here today but no rain. This weather is very draining on my energy. I can't wait for winter or at least the end of summer when all this humidity has gone.
Don @donscns very strange indeed. I don't even have your email addy in my Address book. I was wondering then, if it was Facebook related BUT my FB account is set up in my gmail addy and your email was sent to my other account I have with my server. Very weird.
    Julie

  • Good Mornng everyone.
Don @donscns I also recieved an email "Hi Julie.. All the best Don" The link took me to an advertisement for weight loss

  • good morning all.......little chilly in the bluegrass state but nothing like others are having.....think it's 10 here this morning.....

@donscns I received an email stating from you and it just said "Hi" and then a link....I clicked on the link and got a warning about a virus.....so thought I'd let you know....now sure what's happening......

Hope everyone has a great day...stay warm or cool as the case may be....ha

  • Good Morning everyone. Not sure what our weather will be doing today. Sun is shining but there are a lot of black clouds about
Don @donscns sorry you had a frustrating experience with eBay.
Carl @carma sounds like you had a great day.

  • Good Morning everyone, bright and sunny down here. Temps are warming up again.
Started my Monday morning off with a bootcamp session down by the river. Now I'm getting ready to meet up with a friend for breakfast.

Carl @carma You'd think with that kind of money and value, they could have flown over here and pick it up ๐Ÿ™‚
Don @donscns it could be the same dish, The one I showed was located in Australia this one is located in USA
Wendy @wjweese Yes I thought they could have done a better job with the description LOL

  • @donscns Don, Yikes!! Glad you're okay.

@carma Carma, guess I must have been influenced too as I made spaghetti for dinner last night.

  • Good Morning everyone. Sunny here atm but predicted more rain to come.
    Katie @fyrqueen lovely photo
Don @donscns sounds like you had fun judging
Jim @dorbitz looking forward to seeing what lovelies you find

  • Good evening everyone. Been babysitting the grandkids all day. Have to be back again early tomorrow morning for another full day with them And also Wednesday is booked in for babysitting.

Don @donscns I am with you on daylight savings. I can see no sense in it at all. Down here we get enough daylight after 5p.m during summer, don't see why an extra hour is needed.
Katie @fyrqueen so sorry you had some dramas during your trip.

  • Good Morning everyone. Overcast and a light drizzle here.
Don @donscns thanks for sharing your new addition DDG
    Julie

  • @donscns Don, pretty set. I still don't understand why a grape pattern is called Palm Beach -- where are the palm trees? ;~)

  • Don @donscns
Google my friend Kevin Painter & butterflies. He's in Panama and has taken some AMAZING photos of butterflies - in fact has been published in several places. He got some that have never been photo'd before! I think you'd love the pix taken by this British bloke who builds houses in real life and hunts beautiful butterflies for fun.
    Janice

  • Good Morning. It is a little overcast here this morning.I planned to get up early and go swimming but I just rolled over and went back to sleep, when I turned the alarm off.
Carl @carma Enjoy the concert. I am sure you will. I have one of her CD's. And it was you that got me interested in her music, when you mentioned her here. Maybe that was when you purchased your tickets. I went to You Tube, had a listen to a few of her songs, then over to EBay to do a search and bought a CD.
Don @donscns I bet the little expressions on the kiddies faces will be priceless when they see the butterflies.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. It is warming up down here.
I've been out and about . Went to a swapmeet just a few minutes from me to have a shop around. I had a lovely morning, didn't buy much but bumped into lots of ppl I knew and was great catching up with them. Then I called in to visit my brother in hospital on my way home.
Thanks everyone for your well wishes for him. There has been no change in his condition. But we don't expect there to be any. His heart and his kidney's will not improve. He's eating Ok and he is complaining OK
Don @donscns sounds like a right PITA and typical isn't it? The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing
Lainey @favoritegram could the mark be for Anchor Glass Container Corporation ? They began in 1983
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone.Beautiful warm Spring weather for us down here.Gorgeous sun rise at the beach this morning while I was swimming my laps. There were severe thunder and hail storm warnings yesterday arvo for my region but it went around my suburb.
Don @donscns beautiful set. Thank you for sharing
Fenton @ohiostar very pretty even if its news

  • Good Morning everyone. It will be my usual Tuesday.. babysitting and taking the little darlings up to visit Mum.
Nancyjean @nona Fingers crossed the weather will be perfect for the beach wedding.
Don @donscns that's a beautiful lamp but sorry I am of no help
Katie @fyrqueen last week we did bootcamp training on the river bank and saw the most spectacular double rainbow that was a full arc in the sky. Not often you see a complete full arc let alone a double one. It was gorgeous
    Julie

  • Good morning everyone. The sun is shining, so hopefully all the rain has gone.. for awhile at least.
Don @donscns Fingers crossed your bowls arrive safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
That would be fun watching those little ones learning and experiencing the butterflies and catapillars. Their enthusiam is just wonderful at that age when they are learning.

Reen @reen Wendy @wjweese may be right, time for a new Estate Agent. My cousin had their porperty on the market forever. They discovered the Agent wasn't doing anything to promote it so they switched and not long after that they had a sale.

Shelly @shellyrae37 I am still waiting confirmation from everyone to see if the reunion will go ahead today. We have tiny little new borns and elderly (89 is the eldest) The cold and damp under foot just may not be ideal for them. If this is the case then we will reschedule for a few weeks time. No one really want to be indoors at a club we like to be outdoors in the lovely park where there is play equipment and the little ones can run around as much as they want, making as much noise as they want, screaming and laugh with out a care in the world. Our family does NOISE really well LOL
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone,Yesterday I think we had all seasons in a day. This morning I have woken to cold and rain. A good day to stay indoors and read or play on the computer.
Carl @carma I don't think any of the old fastfoods taste the same as they use to. I had a Big Mac a few weeks ago. Been a long time since I had one of those. YUCK all I could taste in the bread roll was sugar. Too sweet for my likings. They have taken out the salts etc to appear to be healthy but then bulk up with sugar for tatse.
I remember our TV had a huge antenna cemented into the ground at the side of the house. It went way up to the sky like the Eiffel Tower (mind you I was a little girl LOL) There was a cable that went from the TV out the window to the antenna.
Shelly @shellyrae37 this weekend I will be staying put. We do have our family reunion on Sunday in the park. This afternoon I might go visit some friends and have a couple of beers with them. But that's about all. No gallivanting around the countryside. LOL
I did see it was wyogems birthday but I checked it out and they have not been active here for 2 years, so I thought not much use wishing some a happy birthday if they aren't here ๐Ÿ™‚
Wendy @wjweese you are so organised for Xmas. I have a slight start. My grand childrens day care run a fund raiser this time of year. They have a catalogue for toys and educational toys etc where they get a certain percentage of sales. So I have ordered some things for the grandkids.
Don @donscns I hope you have your computer up and running soon.
    Julie

  • @donscns Don, beautiful piece -- how wonderful that it all came together.

  • @songbreeze Gail, that is such wonderful news!!!!! Thought of you today as I was visiting the various thrifts by my DD in Virginia. I saw various pieces of EAPG and wished you were with me to help decide if they were worth buying.

@donscns Wishing you and Laura a very Happy Anniversary!! (DH and I have 5 years on you -- we celebrated our 45th June 7).

  • Don @donscns and Jim @dorbitz When I grow up I am going to be a Gypsy LOL Hang on!!!! I always said I wasn't going to grow up ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†
Gail @songbreeze I looked for your lovely item but did not find a match anywhere.
George @george as a young girl we would spend winter holidays with my grandfather on his property and he never had electricity or any mod cons. I loved it!! All us kids loved it. What I would really love now is to have all those DDG lamps we used back then, And his furniture etc. I loved the big wood stove that had that huge castiron kettle with tap on it ( antique hot water system LOL) The Fire was always going, food was always cooking. Water was a bit restrictive as he only had tank water. I look back and now know what hard work it was for Mum when we went on holidays there, with 5 kids , often one or two of us also bringing a friend, plus our dogs, All washing boiled up in the copper over a fire, out in the paddock and washed by hand. When we'd get there she would scrub all floors in the house on hands and knees and then polish them. Her little trick to buff them was to have us kids on hessian bags and drags us all around. She made it like a game. When she tried out she'd leave us to it, dragging each other around on the bags. That was the only time we were ever allowed to play inside there LOL... MEMORIES I could go on forever ๐Ÿ™‚
Shelly @shellyrae37 I have always been reasonably independent. I was on my own for a number of years raising my dd. But I have always had friends and family around me.

  • Good morning everyone. We are now getting plenty of rain. Things were starting to look very dry, so it is welcomed. BUt only for a day or two please LOL
Don@donscns glad you enjoyed the tea. I always like to start my day with a cuppa tea.

  • Good Morning everyone. the perfect weather conntinues down here.
Don @donscns I don't think any true Glassie could get burnt out looking at your DDG glass ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks for sharing
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. A repeat of yesterdays weather and the day before that and the day before that ...... Each morning you can feel that chill slowly disappearing. Spring is on its way.

Don @donscns I have a friend that does hay. Yep hard work. They are still lifting them manually. I remember as a child a man that use to use a scythe to cut the whole paddock, all on his own. Each day we drove past we would look to see how far he had done. Can you imagine anyone doing that these days.
Years ago when we 'd not long moved to this house , I saw ,at a farm clearance auction,a big antique timber and cast iron hay press that was operated by horse. It was huge and very heavy. It had been through many floods over its lifetime. It was an old farm situated right on the river. The old barn had sunken a lot and there was many years of built up soil around the press. I fell in love with that piece of machinery and I wanted it so badly. I wanted to use it in our home extensions and build a room around it , Have it as the focal point of the room. BUT I would have had to be a millionaire to be able to afford the equipment needed to get it out of the barn and to my place. Firstly you would have had to demolish the old barn. A crane would be needed to lift the press on and off a truck (truck hire another cost)

  • Good Morning everyone. Chilly start but looks like we will continue on with the lovely sunny winters days we have been having.
LOL Jim @dorbitz I know what you mean about turning 60 LOL I too keep active and am healthy . The girls at bootcamp were very suprised when they found out I was turning 60. I became an instant legend LOL WOW a 60 yr old doing bootcamp!!!!! I joke with my trainer at times when she is hitting us with 100 situps. I ask for seniors discount but she never gives it to me ๐Ÿ™ LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 I never did get a definite ID on that vase. As I said we were being ruthless in culling our collections when that vase went to the "sell pile" We had made a decision to either cut back buying or part with some of the items that had damage so we could continue collecting. I have never seen another one to buy to replace it.
    Don@donscns Gorgeous glass
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. sunny winters morning down here. The bitter chill in the air has eased off a bit
Don @donscns I have enjoyed looking at your DDG collections. Please keep sharing

Here is a vase I used to own. I loved it. But when culling many years ago, it was put in the "sell pile" The reason for this, it had a big crack right through it. We were being ruthless with our collections at the time and trying to only keep the best.

  • Good Morning, windy, cold but sunny.

Shelly @shellyrae37 Oh don't you worry I have put word out all over the place about my stolen items. Facebook is a powerful tool. All my neighbours know too. But I think I will be whistling dixie if I ever expect to see them again. They can have them anyway. More trouble then they are worth. No one will want to buy them, Who would want to buy a cheap 2nd hand mower when you can buy brand new with warranty very cheap. I'd say, if they tried to start my mower to see if it worked, the chord would have snapped off in their hand. Last time I used it, it was about to break again. It was an on going problem with it. I am almost certain I know who the culprits are.

Jim @dorbitz gorgeous glass and piano
Don @donscns I love seeing your collections

  • Sun is shining, skies are clear so it will be a glorious day outside.
Don @donscns I LOVE that set. Thanks for sharing
Wendy @wjweese It looks like my lawn mower and whipper snipper along with the 5 litre fuel tin has been stolen. I have a sneaking suspicion who the culprits are but can't prove it. Let's say a lot in the family have drug problems and would steal the eye out of a needle. They must be very desperate for money. The lawn mower and the whipper snipper have next to no resale value. They'd be luck to get $50 for the both. I even doubt they'd get that much. You can buy them cheap, brand new here at a store called Bunnings. Thats where mine came from . I have had the whipper snipper probably 10 yrs or so. Cost $99. The lawn mower I've had for about 7 yrs , cost $199. Cheap and what I'd call through away equipment. I was getting ready to buy replacements very soon. So, even though I am extremely annoyed that some junkie has decided they would help themselves to what isn't theirs, They have done me a bit of a favour. I now don't have to worry about what I was going to do with them, when I bought the replacements

  • Finally getting some rain here in NJ -- my garden is very happy. And I'm very happy that I don't have to drag my hose all over. Which reminds me . . .

@dorbitz JimL, I love your plants!! I have a variety of hanging baskets around my yard -- finally figured out that was the best way to do annuals. Some I buy and some I just buy the plants and put them in my hanging baskets.

@donscns Don, you have such beautiful glass!! I love the Nautilus set!!! I'm also getting ready for school. I'm an adjunct at a local university -- first class is 8/25. With the crazy calendar this year, we'll have two weeks of classes before Labor Day.

  • DON @donscns, GORGEOUS as usual. You find the best goodies! Was it you that showed us a fabulous pitcher in this pattern?
As for any bug bites, my all time favorite avoidance measure is from Burts Bees, those products you find in any CVS, Walgreens, etc. It's Lemon Insect Repellent - keeps everything away for hours. It's so natural it's safe for babies so I'm not killing the environment while keeping bite-free. And I don't have to shower it off when I come in... it's that lovely! A cheap little tin bottle with pump spray lasts a couple of seasons.
Carl@carma48, my hands ache at the thought of more tiling. If I never see grout again in its soft state, I'll be a happy woman. Good luck with it. Show pix!!!
I have finally taken my favorite piece of elegant glass, a bowl in unknown pattern, and put it out on the dining room table. I've partially set the table in 'staging' house for sale. Every time I pass the table I wonder why it's been ignored in the china cabinet. DH is forlorn at having to hulk over the coffee table to eat dinner, but the table looks so purdy!!!
Lovely day, all. Carl's right - the weather today in New England is perfect!!! Hope yours is as well.

  • Good Morning everyone. Sunny but cold here this morning. At least the wind has died down a bit. Typical August weather for us here, cold and blowing a gale.I really do not look forward to doing this weekend's swapmeet .Its usually always bitterly cold with dirty dusty winds blowing. It's not pleasant sitting for 2 days getting sandblastered and freezing . BUT its the money that makes me go. It is one of the best swaps I do and its huge with over 1,000 stall holders. Plus its only a 30 minute drive for me.
    Don @donscns DDG set.
Shelly @shellyrae37 my condolescenses to you and your family.
Janice @capecodlady I hope your house sells quickly and your move goes smoothly. Take Care.

Julie..who should not be sitting at the computer but should be getting things ready and packed for me to leave tomorrow

  • From what I have been reading about Windows 10 -- if you have Windows 7 and are happy, stay with it. If you have Windows 8 or 8.1 and are not happy, upgrade to Windows 10 as it does have some of the missing features from Windows 7 (e.g., the Start menu). It's supposed to have advanced security features.

@donscns Don, I still love WindowsXP but gave it up when I bought my new laptop. Windows 7 is actually not too different from XP and once I got used to it on my desktop, I found myself occasionally looking for some of the 7 features on my XP laptop. (As one of the articles I recently saw explained, every other Windows was good -- Windows 98, Windows XP, and Windows 7. Remains to be seen what happens with 10.

I'm not fond of Windows 8.1 and would only recommend it if someone has a touchscreen. I will eventually upgrade the laptop to Windows 10 but I'm not touching Windows 7 on the desktop.

  • @carma Carma, love the color scheme and the way the cabinets look. (And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!)

@donscns Thank you, Don, for the reminder (now that you mentioned it, I remembered.)

Got really dark and we just had a few boomers and it's raining. Looks like the really big storm isn't here yet though. But it should be enough rain that I don't have to water the plants today.

  • Good Morning everyone. raining here atm. I got a bit wet training at bootcamp this morning.
Jim @dorbitz Yes I am truly very lucky to have so many caring friends in my life.
BTW you do keep yourself busy LOL.
Don @donscns LOL @ feeling "delicate"
Shelly @shellyrae37 I got a giggle out of the joke..thanks
Will you please give Betty my love. Tell her I think of her often .
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone, sunny but a little chilly .
Carl @carma don't you just love progress?.. NOT Same things happening down here too
Shelly I did have a great night and everything went well. I probably had about 50 guests give or take a few. Mother Nature co operated, plenty of sunshine on Saturday to get the yard all set up for the night. Chilly night but everyone kept warm sitting around the firepits or outdoor heater. Plus everyone came well rugged up.
Don @donscns I hope Laura has a speedy recovery
Reen @reen hope all went well for your Open House
Wendy @wjweese I hope you continue to mend after your fall.

  • @donscns Don, but it's a dry heat. :~) Actually, there is truth to that -- it was only in the upper 80s here in NJ yesterday but we were dragging because the humidity was increasing. Storms supposed to come through later today -- may not be a lot cooler but definitely less humidity.

@dorbitz JimL, aren't Jacaranda trees beautiful? I saw them for the first time some years back in LA in early May. The mass of blue was just incredible.

Wishing all the glassies a good day!!!

  • Good Morning everyone. Another chilly morning down here. Overcast but the sun is trying to shine.
I will be heading off today for a fun weekend away with a group of friends. I won't be able to do the coffee but I am sure Don @donscns or Jim @dorbitz will look after you ๐Ÿ™‚
Don @donscns miracles do happen And fairdinkum that had to be a miracle that all that survived without one bit of damage.
Carl @carma Yum!! It's been awhile since I had lobster and that one was a frozen one which just doesn't cut it

  • Good Morning everyone. And soooo my kitchen continues. Still no end to it all, in sight LOL
I did get my cupboards painted yesterday and put in the kitchen. I was not at all happy with it once I had them where I thought would look great. So I have had to sleep on it and try to decide my next plan of attack. I don't want to go filling them with all my "stuff" and decide I want to move them. Like sands through an hour glass ..sooooo is Julie's kitchen LOL
Don @donscns Yes that kitchen is very colourful. It is in a caravan. Its become very popular here for the younger ones to buy vintage caravan and redo them all retro. Mine won't be that bright LOL
Gail @songbreeze Yes it is a very hard balancing act the Drs have to perform. Each individual is different and each and every cancer is different and they don't know how either will respond to the treatment and the doses till they try.You can have 2 pp,l same age etc with same cancer, same stage. But they do not respond the same so treatment has to be adjusted. I take my hats of to them. They do a wonderful job, as do all the medical team that work in those wards.
I hope you are well enough for the Convention. sending you big (((((((HUGS)))))))) and lots of positive vibes.

  • Good Morning everyone,Looks like I forgot to post the morning coffee. I must be loosing it cause I thought I did LOL
It's still cold and damp here. I am hoping the rain will clear very soon. I do want to get my cupboard painted and dried asap so I can get my kitchen and house back to normal.
Don @donscns glad you survived your first hay load ๐Ÿ˜€ And what a DDG set. I am so pleased it was packed well for you.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I don't do normal kitchens LOL Nothing in my kitchen is new or attached permanently to it's place (except the sink, though not new. It's an old cast enamel one) If the cupboard doesn't fit where I want it I can always put in another spot with a bit of rearranging of other furniture in the kitchen
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone I am still in a big mess here but progress is being made very slowly. Who am I kinding!! I have made a bigger mess by removing the kitchen cabinet. I have decided to sell it and get something different LOL So now I have more stuff everywhere LOL
But the walls and floors are clean.(still spot scrubbing the floor though) I have moved the stove and fridge into another spot and I have put back some of the items I use on a daily basis. So thats the progress. But we won't talk about the rest of the house and all the stuff from the kitchen I have everywhere that I need to sort (keep or sell) and clean.
Kay @rosecoloredglasses Hi to you . Glad to see you posting. Please join in more often
Reen @reen I too hope I am wrong about the rain. Weather report says cold but sunny. So fingers crossed they are right. And we have taken to calling our swapmeets swampmeets LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 I have a market this weekend , I will head off tomorrow. It will be freezing. There is sure to be a heavy frost over everything Monday morning. I have a pair of special thermal gloves But standing on that icey cold damp ground can be painful and sent chills right through your body.
    Don @donscns Lovely set

  • Good Morning everyone a cold damp day morning. Today I will be spending it putting my kitchen back together again. I have decided there will be no 'props" going back in. Only functional items that I actually do use.... well thats for now anyway LOL I have already decided that the big shop scales will find a new spot in my kitchen. I haven;t decided where it will go yet. Just that I don't want it back where it was.

Reen @reen I hope it stays dry for your open house. And good luck I hope your home sells soon. BTW it will probably rain Sunday and Monday. I have a market those days and with my track record lately its bound to rain LOL
Don @donscns enjoy those grand daughters as I know you will. I bet they look at you with their adorable eyes and give you a sweet smile and they have Poppy wrapped around their fingers LOL
Shelly @shellyrae37 all good with the ceiling. It had to be totally removed and a new one put in, so any mold, if there was, has been taken care of.
    Julie

  • @donscns Don, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Wishing you a great day and a wonderful year filled with sparkly glass!

  • Happy Birthday Don @donscns

  • @donscns Don, wow!! That is gorgeous -- so glad it arrived okay.

@george George, e.e. cummings is one of my favorites -- it's time for "in just spring". http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/176657

  • G'day everyone. I had a great time away. Lots of laughing and fun.
Jim @dorbitz thanks for looking after the coffee
Gail @songbreeze I am so pleased to see that you are feeling better
Shelly @shellyrae37 glad to hear your doing OK
Don @donscns I'm looking forward to see your birthday pressie. Fingers crossed it arrives safely.
Katie @fyrqueen good to hear your Dh is improving.

  • Don @donscns High Tea ๐Ÿ˜€ love it ๐Ÿ˜€
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. Sky has cleared and it is a lovely Autumn's day.
Don @donscns WOW!! just gorgeous! How much do you charge for admission and guided tour and is morning tea included ๐Ÿ˜€
Gail @songbreeze So sorry you are not feeling so good.

  • Good evening everyone. back home from a very successful swapmeet. Big crowd and they spent plenty. Weather was very good, if not a little too hot. But that was better then all the rain we have had the past few years.
I am very tired but going to try to catch up a bit on the board
Don @donscns I know all about the "Elsa Braids" LOL Miss P has to have then too and she must wear her Elsa shoes and cape and gloves LOL
Gail @songbreeze Glad to see that all is going well with you
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. been gone all day. Had the Grandkids all day and took them up to visit Mum. She ahd a fall the other day and is now confined to bed, till she mends. No broken bones but she is sore and bruised. She is looking very very frail.
    Don @donscns DDG set.
    Stay warm everyone
    Julie

  • @donscns Don, that is a gorgeous set!!

After a brief flirt with the low 40s yesterday, it's now 15F. Whatever melted is now ice. I've spread some ice melt and also some unscented, non-clumping cat litter (closest I could get to sand). Supposed to go down to -1 tonight. The only good news is that at least for now there's no precipitation expected this week.

  • Good Morning everyone It's overcast here
Carl @carma Thanks. I had already told her what was in your book and will now pass on the confirmation on. How I see it now, most Aussies on Facebook know of Doty's site and use it for reference, so they'll all think it's rare. LOL That's good for the friend in a way, when she sells it. I have seen some strange buying on Facebook and some strange ideas of what's valuable LOL. It's all in the marketing to the uneducated and the lazy that don't do their homework.
Gail @songbreeze (((((HUGS)))))) and continued postive thoughts
Don @donscns aaaaaarrrrrrchooooo I hope it doesn't linger too long
Katie @fyrqueen give my regards to Reen @reen I hope she is better soon

  • Good Morning everyone.
I auctioned a small tri-corner nappy bowl (Australian Crown Crystal Glass Co, Citron colour ) on one of the Auction Groups on Facebook and I was very pleased with the interest and outcome.
Don @donscns thanks for posting the coffee. Yes I was a little busy. I was at my sister's socialing and stayed there the night
BTW that is a DDG set
Shelly @shellyrae37 welcome back, glad the trip went well. I hope you are feeling better after your fall.
Katie @fyrqueen glad you are able to keep your house warm while waiting on the new heater.

    Stay warm everyone
    Julie

This is the bowl I sold

  • @donscns Don -- Wow!!! That is a beautiful set.

We're waiting on snow tonight, too. I hope it stays snow and doesn't get an icing of sleet and freezing rain tomorrow. We shall see.

  • Good aftternoon everyone. Hot and humid here
Don @donscns I have been having internet problems too. I have days where I keep getting disconnect, it runs extremely slow and pages won't load. It is very frustrating. Plus it always seems to happen when I really need to be online doing something important LOL Then I have days where it runs perfectly, no problems at all. My ISP says its no them.
Fenton @ohiostar Love the water sets
George @george I detest tinypics. Half the time I get sick of waiting for all the rubbish to load so I can view the pics. Thats if they will load at all. But if you use the Image wizard here on the board and add the tinypic URL and follow the instructions it will only post the pic. for example I will use Irene's URL she posted for her photo

  • Good afternoon everyone. Tuesday is no my day for babysittng the DGK so I have been busy having fun with them all day.
It has been raining non stop all day. We have had drizzle, we've had heavy down pours and also thunder and lightening. Seems this weather has brought the Kangaroos up to DD's yard.Saw a mother and her baby this arvo.
Don @donscns I love your DDG pitcher
    Irene @jmart8248 It's very easy staying cool today. It's only 18ยฐCelsius (64ยฐ F)
Wendy @wjweese No I wasn't really disappointed that much.I still sold enough to make it worth while.Just not as much as I usually do. I had a lovely time, caught up with friends and acquaintances that collect or sell. After we set up our stalls we sit around and have a nice chat while enjoying a beer or a nice glass or two of champagne. I cooked a delicious meal, which was fresh Australian Tasmanian Salmon served on cucumber spaghetti and topped with home made sauce and fresh baked beetroot. My friends that joined me for this meal have not long been back from a River Cruise in Europe. They said my meal was equivalent to what they were served on their 5 star cruise ๐Ÿ™‚ I was pretty pleased with that ๐Ÿ˜€ I must admit it was very very delicious, even if i say so myself ๐Ÿ™‚
    Carl @carma brrrrrrr
Gail @gailmacphee , Nancy @jerseystar27 and anyone else experiencing extreme weather conditions. Stay warm and stay safe
Gail @songbreeze I am so pleased that everything is looking positive. Continued positive thoughts and more ((((((hugs)))))) sent your way
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone
Don @donscns Looks like you were having issues too with the coffee. Thanks for trying
Jim @dorbitz Thanks for the coffee

  • Been a busy and fun morning and afternoon shopping and treasure hunting with my sister.
Katie @fyrqueen that beach closure due to the sharks is where I go . Its a record amount of days that our beaches have been closed I think we are up to day 6. I haven't heard any news today, been too busy shopping with sister
Don @donscns I have been having the same problems with my internet. I am blaming it on the heat. But that can't be the case for you
Gail @songbreeze glad you are doing well.
    Irene @jmart8248 do take care

  • Good Morning everyone. Hot and high humidity down here.
Our beaches here have been closed for a record of 5 days staright, due to the sighting of sharks just off our shores. I cannot remember the beaches being closed for this long before in my life. A day maybe but that's all. Not a good time for them to show up LOL. It's summer and school holidays, so it's going to spoil a lot of family's plans.
Don @donscns I hope your MIL makes a speedy recovery

  • Good Morning everyone. we have rain!! Its dark and gloomy here, no sign of any sunshine. The rain is just continual, rained all night, nice light drizzle. Just perfect for a lazy Sunday and such a relief. My garden will be happy too, it was started to look very sad and wilted LOL I am not much of a gardener so anything in my garden has to survive mother nature and all she throws at it LOL
Jim @dorbitz ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† Had a mate that used to always be saying Holy Batman.... ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† always made me laugh
Shelly @shellyrae37 & Don @donscns I have to keep the tea lovers happy too (me included) and thought it time to share a cuppa among us. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Julie

  • Good Morning evveryone. Hot here again. I am going to try to survive without the air con today. I just can't handle it for another day.
Fenton @ohiostar when there was talk of petrol prices dropping our Government almost immediately up the taxes.
Shelly @shellyrae37 It was suppose to be coffee I posted but that's the beauty of virtual, you can make it anything you like LOL
Wendy @wjweese nice to see you back on board. ๐Ÿ˜€
Don @donscns one of my plans for this house is to go solar. Few of the neighbours already have it. And when and if I divide my block and build another house (smaller one ) for me when and if I get too old for this bigger house, It will be solar.
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. The sun has started to shine so now its sticky and humid.
Gail @songbreeze ((((((((hugs)))))))) dolly steps at a time . Just do what you can and don't over do things
I am glad you are enjoying the sewing group
Bob @baabaamason I am so pleased for you that your darling furbabies are home
Don @donscns that was my kind of day yesterday. I didn't have any desire to do much at all. I call it a Post Xmas Hangover Too much of all the bad things e.g sugar But now its Monday and its back to normal, lots of water to help flush the system from all the rubbish I fed it and back to healthy eating. Its Bootcamp training tonight too. I think I am going to really struggle LOL
Marson @panishklo glad you are home safe and sound.
    Julie

  • G'day to you all. I had planned on having a sleep in this morning but phone rang at 7a.m. It was my sister wanting to go out for breakfast. Had a lovely morning, which started at one cafe for coffee( chef hadn't arrived yet so they were only serving drinks that early in the morning 7.30a.m)) and then onto another cafe for a scrumptious breakfast. We also got a spot of shopping in before the shopping centre got too crowded. I really hate shopping in crowds filled with bargain hunters, pushing and shoving.I avoid the places like the plague LOL It was a spontaneous decision to do some shopping and that was only because it was early and not too many ppl were about. Once we could see the pl starting to come in, we were out of there wuick smart LOL

Don @donscns I am so glad your Xmas was perfect too ๐Ÿ˜€
    Julie

  • Good Morning Everyone. Another Hot day ahead for us down here.
Don @donscns enjoy your time with your family.
Gail @songbreeze I am glad that each day you are improving. Dolly steps at a time and you will get there.

  • Fran @fran2 I just tried my old way [b] and [h2] for font size and it works. Before that code never worked here and I resorted to the one in the "How to Manual" Now all I need to do is add font color and I'll be set ๐Ÿ™‚
Don @donscns yes now I know what Pop-tarts are. BTW there is nothing wrong with vegemite. Ask any Aussie ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

  • Good Morning everyone. Hot and dry down here But I am pleased to say it's not too hot But its early in the day.
Don @donscns Glad the tea went well with your pop tarts BTW what are pop-tarts ?LOL
Gail @songbreeze and Fran @fran2 How did you get the HTML to show properly. I use the How to Guide as I have always done for here and for some reason it does not work here any more. Maybe I better drag out my old notes and try the old way
Shelly @shellyrae37 I think from this year on it will become the tradition in my house to do the Xmas decorations with the grandkids on the 15th December. Miss P is already starting to understand about those that are not with us. (My DH , my father and my nephew) We talk about them all the time and share our memories with her.
Nancy @jerseystar27 Thanks for the hug.
There were 2 of 17 hostages killed along with the gunman. I do fear that this will cause outrage and maybe violence towards all Muslims. I hope not but there are ppl that will go off half cocked and the stupid media will add fuel to it.As they have always done towards the Muslim community instilling (or trying to ) fear to everyone. But I am proud that there are Aussies that have offered to protect innocent Muslims , that don't listen to all the gutter journalism. I'd say when I log onto Facebook I'll be seeing all sorts of Memes being shared around.
Marson @panishklo Thanks for the hug and ((((HUGS)))) back to you.
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Its hot here already and its only 8a.m. We received a bit of rain again last night
Don @donscns & Shelly @shellyrae37 No I won't forget us Tea drinkers. Actually I am sitting here having a Lemon & Ginger tea atm ๐Ÿ™‚
Gail Mac @gailmacphee I always have problems with tinypics so can not see your item. But I'll try again later. If its English then there is a good chance it could be Davidson's Pearline
    Julie

  • Good Morninng everyone Morning tea with one of my darling nieces today at our favourite coffee shop
Don @donscns glad you are feeling better
Gail @songbreeze and Shelly LOL the time difference can get a bit confusing LOL it was my yesterday I had grandson. He was cranky and miserable at first but Grandma cuddles can fix a lot of things ๐Ÿ™‚ And he does love to cuddle.
    Julie

  • Back from physio and all's good. They are very pleased with my progress No more appointments for me. Now its just a matter of time for everything to be back 100% normal . I still get stiffness and unable to bend my fingers first thing in the morning and I get pins and needles but that will keep improving with time and by using my hand, which I do. The stiffness is taking less and less time to loosen up as each day passes. Strength is getting better by the day.
Don @donscns thanks for updating us on Bob in KY. I hope he mends quickly
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Been a sad couple of days farewelling two friends but that is now behind me.
Gail @songbreeze thank you for keeping us updated on the progress of Katie's @fyrqueen DH ((((hugs)))) to you Katie
Don @donscns I am not a lover of daylight savings time either, especially the mornings I get up @ 3.45a.m to go swimming. My body clock just won't accept it. It is still saying 2.45a.m and does not want to budge LOL
BTW I LOVE your new aquisition. Reverse 44 has to be one of my all time favourite patterns. I just don't see it around here anywhere. If I did I would be buying it. LOVE it!
Carl @carma that doesn't sound good at all.
    Julie

  • Good morning everyone. We had a thunder storm come through late yesterday afternoon. We just got heavy rain and a bit of thunder. But other areas were hit bad with hail storms, lightening strikes and strong winds
Don @donscns I am glad you are on the mend. Take it easy till you are completely 100%
Gail @songbreeze Good luck treasure hunting I hope you find heaps
Also thanks for letting us know about Katie's @fyrqueen DH I hope everything is OK

    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone It is overcast here
Don @donscns I hope you are feeling better soon
Shelly @shellyrae37 Sorry to hear about your MIL .
    Julie

  • @donscns Don, I've been trying all evening and getting a message that the server was unavailable. Good to see the board again!!

  • Good Morning everyone. Spring is here..well for now anyway LOL anything can change in the blink of an eye down here, when it's our weather we are talking about LOL

Thanks everyone for your comments on my FB shop. I will be tweaking things here and there as the days go and adding more stock.

Don @donscns Funny you should mention that about mentioning postage from Australia, that was one of the first thoughts I had when I woke this morning. Great minds think alike ๐Ÿ˜€

JimL @dorbitz No fees selling on FB. Yes a business page is different to a personal page but much the same .Now hard part is to get exposure which I will work on after I have enough stock up for sale.

Shelly @shellyrae37 No it was relative easy to set up once I put my mind to it. All you need do is "create page" which there is a link on your home page for that. Fill in the form with relevant info and you're done. Uploading pics is easy. I have just done the basics for now but will play around later and see what other features are available and what I can do.

IreneM @jmart8248 to send a FB email is simple. Go to persons page and at the top they have what is called a "cover photo" To the bottom right hand side you will see "message" click on that and you can send them an email.
