• Oh my, don't know where the day went. Still playing catch-up.

@donscns DON ... thank you so very much for posting the coffee while I was gone. I truly appreciate your help.

@favoritegram LAINEY ... just look over to the right column of the screen and you will see "How To Post a Picture Link."

@dbfrogs FRAN and @suzy SUZY ... adorable grandsons! They are all so precious.

@sellingthings MARTY ... thanks for the link for the Atterbury CADs, interesting article.

I still haven't unpacked my suitcase. Going to bed early and get a good nights rest. Everything can wait til tomorrow. 🙂

  • @songbreeze Gail, welcome home! Glad you had such a wonderful trip!

@dbfrogs Fran, so good to see you here! Oh my gosh, Jace sure is a cutie! We have a son-in-law named Jace....he is the only Jace I know of until yours now. Aren't grandsons fun? We have one ourselves...he will be 1 year old on Dec. 1st...his name is Gibson...and since you showed a photo with baby and pumpkins, I will too...

  • @dbfrogs Fran, so good to see you here! Your grandson is adorable!!!

@songbreeze Gail, welcome home! Sorry I wasn't able to get down to visit with you, Jim, & Bonnie.

Although the radio kept saying there was light snow & the Weather Channel app on my phone kept saying light snow, we had nothing here. It is chilly, but it is November.

  • Good morning, glassies. My word, what a wonderful 12 hour sleep I had! Just feel super. Getting ready to go to the Post Office and pick up my 2-weeks worth of mail that I had put on hold. Have several catch-up errands to take care of before I can sit down and catch up with the Chat. I do see FRAN @dbfrogs checked in! It's been well over a year since we've seen here and, Fran, we really hope you are back and posting often!

The weather was 70° when I landed yesterday...cold front moved in and the wind-chill is in the teens and 20's this morning. I was so fortunate with my travels with the weather.

Off to start my errands, so I can get back and check on all the happenings on the board that I've missed. 🙂

  • Hello everyone. I don't get much chance to post lately. Life is busy. I do still try to lurk once or twice a week though.

    @dbfrogs, Happy Birthday Fran!

@wattleihavenext, Julie,Congratulations on the newest member of your family.

@okcoolwheels, Suzy. Good job. Glad to be able to chalk one up for the good guys!

@jerseystar/nancyp, Nancy, Thanks for the ruby/amberina tip. Another helpful tip added to my Glassie tips notebook.

@oklahomasong-gail, Wow! I know how good that feels. Almost inspires me to do the same...almost.

@abzoid, I love that little blue vase.

@Shelly, I'm sorry, I must have missed reading about the reason for all the new appliances and insurance people. I'm assuming there was something along the lines of a flood or fire?

  • Hi Everyone...

@dbfrogs - From Fran2 to Fran1 - Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hope you are back home by now and on the road to recovery.

Marty - Congratulations on the great sales!

  • @dbfrogs Fran -- sending {{hugs}} and prayers, feel better soon!!!

  • @dbfrogs ----Yep, that dehydration can be a booger. Your resistance may be at a low level. Nursey DD's response to almost any complaint is 'More liquids'. I hope it is not a bug picked up in Mexico.

  • @dbfrogs Sorry to hear about your MIL. It is doubly stressful when the medical incident occurs away from home, family and trusted providers. Strange surroundings make it hard for family to provide the support they want to.
    george

  • @dbfrogs Fran- So sorry about your MIL. But glad this happen near Las Vegas rather than farther east as it will be easier for Doug and his brother to commute. I've been on the commuting end a few times. I do hope that she gets better.

  • @dbfrogs FRAN ... So very sorry to hear of your MIL condition. My thoughts and prayers for your MIL, for Doug, and for you. So sorry you are still so under the weather too. (((((HUGS)))))

  • @dbfrogs Oh, Fran! Sending {{{hugs}}} and prayers for Doug, his mom, and you!! Glad you got to enjoy the Sir Francis Drake -- it is a cool place. Sorry you didn't get to wander around Union Square. Feel better!!

  • @dbfrogs Fran Just realized I haven't seen your smiling face for a while. I hope everything is ok.
    george

  • @nicknack2 NORA ... Welcome to the Glass Chatroom! If this room is new to you, check out the upper right-hand tab that’s labeled ”How To’’ Manual. Lots of great info there. Also on the right-hand sidebar, you should find Welcome to Glass Chat and How To Post a Picture Link very helpful. So glad you joined us and hope you find lots of fun and information here!

    @wellingtonct LAURIE ... Have a safe trip!

@enchantmentglass KELLI ... lovely vase but I just have no idea who made it. I only have one Tiffin book and that's already been searched by others. Sorry.

@dbfrogs FRAN and @wattleihavenext JULIE ... God bless you both for your caring and generosity. (((((HUGS)))))

Time to get ready for Church. Catch up with you all later....

  • @dbfrogs FRAN ... yes, you got the last work, laughing at me for saying How the Chat Churns. 😀 And I never did tell @donscns DON how much I enjoyed his "countdown" Welcome Post the last few days.

@bethbarg BETH ... Oh so good to see you! Hope we don't lose any of our Glassies with the eBay Chat closed now and that they will still be able to find us here.

  • @dbfrogs FRAN ... so glad all went well and thank you for keeping us posted.

  • @dbfrogs FRAN ... will be waiting this evening to hear from you that all has gone well for Doug. Will he come home this evening or will he need to overnight?

  • Good morning, peeps.

@justmim MIM ... I LOVE gingerbread. Haven't had any in years. Wonder why that is. I guess I just don't cook much and almost never make a cake or such because there's only me here to eat it.

@10bbg10 HELEN ... even though only 55 spaces show in the title the others at least will come up in a search and if you scroll over you can see the entire title. I find it helpful if I'm interested in something that I can get "the rest of the story"--meaning size or height or color or date--by just scrolling over.

@dbfrogs FRAN ... I can imagine how frustrating it is not to have your computer. But your little gifs DO show up. Just make 2 separate posts...one for the froggie and one for the coffee pot. Seems the problem arises when you try to post both of them into one posting. Don't know if that will work, but maybe it's worth a try while you are using the iPad.

  • @glassusa Bob, All my glass books are packed away somewhere in the attic, but if anyone has the GAG books (Great American Glass, book I and book II) your Georgian pattern is in one of them. I am sure that shape is one of the better glass companies; perhaps Fenton.

@dbfrogs Fran, Have an attorney contact the seller. It looks like someone may be selling pirate copies of your book as they are advertising reduced shipping for multiple copies.

Some of you folks have too many variations on your userid. I had some trouble getting the names to show up in bold blue. *grin*

  • @dbfrogs Fran, witch Wetzel book.

    Tony

  • Hi all.

@dbfrogs Fran, Thanks so much for setting me straight on these pieces. Will make a note and pass it on to MIL. I checked Elegant Glassware of the Depression era and CW Colored and Decorated Lines. Could not find either of those. Guess I should get CW The Crystal Line and add it to my book collection. 🙂

@oklahomasong Gail, so sorry it turned out that way. ((((Hugs)))) It is lovely though.

  • Good morning Glassies.

Got home late last nite and had no chance to check in till now.
Cool with rain today here in the DC area. Supposed to rain on and off the rest of the week.

    Off to scroll the board.

Might as well join in. LOL I'm 57 and my MIL got me started on glass. She gave my DW a piece of Fortune DG about 10 years ago. During the next few years, DW mistakenly got pieces of Old Cafe and Queen Mary. After some time, I told her to learn what she was buying or I would. My looking and research eventually brought me to the Ebay glass chat room. There my eyes were opened to the world of wonder that is glass. Just like that, a junky was born some 6 years ago. As my eyes were opened, it was Stretch glass and Opalescent Glass that grabbed me. I'm also awed and amassed by the talent of those who made open work glass.

Thank you all for the education you have shared with this still Infant Glassy.

@dbfrogs Fran. When I missed you on Sunday, I was trying to confirm 3 CW pieces my MIL has. Now that I'm home and have my books, I was able to confirm 1. Need to confirm the others. Sorry I have no photos.
#1. 8" plate with centered indent. It has a rased base much like a bowl. Is #400/50 correct. What piece should sit on it.
#2. Number for 8" center heart handled server. My books don't show/describe the heart handles.

@newt0n Jim, how does Thursday sound for a meet.

    Tony

  • Hi all, I'm just looking in from MIL's computer.
Did a quick scroll of the board.

    @dbfrogs Fran, are you around?

    Tony

  • @dbfrogs FRAN … I have Collectible Bohemian Glass 1915-1945, Vol II. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a piece of Kralik or Loetz or Moser in my life. Don’t think too many pioner women packed their covered wagons with the likes of Bohemian art glass to help decorate their Oklahoma sod huts. 😀

  • @newt0n Jim, She is gorgeous. I just love those nekid glass ladies.

@dbfrogs Fran, Lundburg huh. Will try to get that to stick in the sieve that is my mind. Quite right, I didn’t think to ask if it had a pontil.

Went to an antique building/mall in Morgantown WV two week ends ago. The hallways were lined with glass cases filled with Tiffin, Morgantown, Dunbar, Monongah, Paden City and Seneca Glass. By the time I left, I had a new book and they had to clean the cases of drool and finger prints. Or was it my nose that left those marks. LOL DW and MIL had to drag me away.
The only bummer was that I had forgotten my camera in DC.

    Tony

  • @dbfrogs Fran, Third from the left and first three on the right. All DDG.
It seams we have similar tastes. LOLI am GREEN over the saw toothed Stretch piece you have. LOL

@okcoolwheels-Suzy Suzy, Love Jammies.LOL I think that is a decorated Carnival piece. Check David dotty's web site.

    Tony

  • @okcoolwheels Suzy, Thank you. She is my fave of all my glass.

@dbfrogs Fran , lovely vase. You have another that has a kind of swirl to it. Who made that one.

    Tony

  • @dbfrogs WOW, Fran, I'm still trying to determine which way is up on that critter!

  • @dbfrogs That'd be awesome! Just wait till I buy a house so I've got somewhere to put you up lol.

  • @dbfrogs ......."Mom always did like you best!!" LOL ***Don

  • @dbfrogs I never really weighed it but I would think 20 pounds or so. Ive found several Historical items related to glass making if you will over the years that are pretty cool.
