Happy birthday @ohliz where ever you are 🙂

I wasn't able to make it to the West Coast for the gathering, but I was lucky enough to spend some time with Julie and her daughter Melanie here on the East Coast, doing touristy things in NYC. (On some of my west coast trips, I've met Lainey and Fran and I met Gail down in Maryland when she was visiting her son.)
Happy birthday to @ohliz Liz!

Good morning, glassies. I got up early today so I could get a jump on all the things I need to get done today. However, it's blowing up in my face as I'm so sleepy I can barely move. I've already had 3 cups of coffee to no avail. I will probably need a looooong nap before I know it.
@ohliz LIZ .... but you MUST have birthday cake that was missed yesterday!
@donscns DON ... glad you got my emails as I was wondering if my ditzy self forgot to hit the send button. 🙂 They didn't matter though as you had my back and posted coffee anyway. Thanks!
@carma CARL ... I just can't imagine how your one month of summer can be so awesome as to be able to carry you through the 11 months of hell you endure.
Waving HI to JULIE and GEORGE!

We didn't have them very often and I can't even remember what they tasted like. We would always spend our summer holidays at the beach. Mum and Dad always fished and we lived on fresh fish, crabs etc. I would say that maybe once in a while there were no fish, so Mum had to resort to us eating periwinkles LOL The rocks were covered in them. Or maybe she just wanted to give them a try

Good afternoon everyone. What a gloriuos Autumns day it has been so far. I had a wonderful morning at the beach with DD and Grandkids. Very lowtide so we got to explore the rock pools. Miss P had so much fun learning and Grandma was very delighted teaching and seeing her little face and eyes light up as she played with the periwinkles, watching them come in and out of their shells 🙂

@ohliz They have arrested a 2nd boy who is 15 years old. The 11 year old is still locked up , with out Bail. Our country is a harsh country and bushfires are bad enough without some one deliberately lighting them. At 11 years old & 15 years old , yes they would know exactly what the consequences would be.Its not like they never happen here. Just about every Summer the news is filled with devastating stories of bushfires. It is going to be interesting to see what actually happens to these kids. I do know the past few years they were talking about getting tougher on them. Lets hope so.
Wendy @wjweese Air quality for me is not too bad now because the fires near are under control But Sydney is choking

@ohliz I agree. They should be shown the devastation they have caused and then they should be made to help clean up. Also they should have to face the ppl whose lives they have destroyed and made to keep contact for a few years as these ppl have to rebuild their lives. The wildlife casualties are shocking too so these kids should be made witness the suffering at the vets and wild life services that are tending to the animals and made to help out. Lastly all their treasured items should be put in a pile made into a bonfire and set alight. Maybe I am being a little harsh maybe not. I don't know the children's backgrounds or the parents, so maybe I should not judge immediately But regardless, their senseless actions have caused a lot of heartache for many

Good Morning everyone. We're back to warm sunny winter weather and no wind. It is a DDG morning 🙂
I've been out for breakfast with my sister. We did some shopping too and its only 10.30a.m. Now going to get ready and head up the coast a little for a few days of R&R. No partying LOL just going to kick back and take things easy and will catch up with relations .
Carl @carma and liz @ohliz One of the Private eBay groups I belong to had that issue a few weeks back. eBay did some "fixing" of something that wasn't broke And no one could get into the group .We had to eventually go the long way around starting from eBay's Home page finding the Group and getting in from there and re book mark it. The whole lot of us in the group have become fed up with eBay messing around with things that do not need fixing so we have moved the group over to Facebook.

Good Morning everyone Our perfect winter weather continues. We have been having some DDG days.
Don @donscns I know you love your work with the kids. Such a shame that you will be forced to retire
Gail @songbreeze I hope all goes well for you. ((((Hugs))))))
Liz @ohliz Glad you are doing well. BTW Men spitting on the foothpath is a disgusting habit
And as I scroll up I see you sharing some pics of you doing aqua fitness. Gee Whizz you are looking good 😉 Oh and about that bridge you have for sale. Can you send me measurements and asking price please 😆 😆 😆 😆
Marson @panishklo Yep I can see you dancing You sure do have the moves 🙂 -
HI to GEORGE, KATIE, and BILL!
@ohliz ... ROTFLOL @ your water aerobics class!
@jerseystar NANCY P ... thanks, as one can never have too many prayers. After this coronary angioplasty, I still have the renal stents to have done on Sept 4. Really hoping I'll get to the East Coast some time in October. Might be fun to be there at Halloween with the grandkids.
GERMS: While in Nigeria we visited a village. The chieftan had 13 wives and just that month 2 of the wives had given birth. Those babies had scarification to denote their royal lineage. The three deep cuts on their cheeks were packed with mud. Our translator said it inoculated them against tetanus.
OKLAHOMA GERMS... no self-respecting Okie baby ever grew up who hadn't eaten dirt and/or bugs on many an occasion. If anything hit the ground and you hadn't let it linger too long before you picked it up, then it was fair game to eat it.
Of course, since I already have 4 stents and I'm getting ready to have a slew more, I guess I'm not exactly the poster child for "Germs Won't Hurt You." 😆

Good Morning everyone. The mornings are getting cooler but the water temp is still gorgeous so my swim was very enjoyable and a great start to my day. Just a tad chilly when the cold wind hit me, when I got out LOL
@ohliz I love the Blue Mountains, such a DDG part of the world.
BTW if you can get here by July you are more then welcome to join us on the Great Ocean Road 🙂
Amber @amber1986 Arlie Beach Australia rates No. 3 as Traveller's Choice 2013 And
Turquoise Bay Exmouth comes in as #19. I have not been to either
Katie @fyrqueen I love my caller ID on my phone and also the feature where I can choose different ringtones for phone numbers in my phone book.So if I am not in the room and my phone rings I know by the tune if it is someone I know. If it is not a number I know I will not answer.

@ohliz what part of Aus did you visit?
Amber @amber1986 Aus is such a varied place, DDG seaside to desert with nothing but red dirt for as far as the eye can see.And you can spend days and days of driving see nothing but flat ground covered in red dirt which gets very boring LOL Our beaches are rated as some of the best in the world, the coast is spectacular.

Good morning, glassies. Suppose to reach 77° today and 43° tomorrow, so needless to say we are in for rain and thunderstorms later today.
@carma CARL ... Delighted that you were able to ID that beautiful bowl of SHELLY's. I just couldn't locate it for the life of me, yet I knew it looked familiar. Thank you for the tip on photographing the CG. I'm going to try again today since in spite of the warm day, it is very overcast.
@suzy SUZY ... so sorry that I just have no idea on that sweet stemware. I was wondering if that might be a needle etch on it.
@ohliz LIZ ... I pray I never find the biscuit mix in the store. I could eat 1,000 of Red Lobster biscuits. If I could make them at home I'd put on so much weight that I'd wind up rolling rather than walking every where I wanted to go

Good Morning everyone. We have been getting some glorious weather down here. Nice crisp mornings followed by warm sunny days. I love Autumn!!
Betty @sjell I am glad you had a lovely day. You deserve it so much with all you have been through lately
Leah @goodwinantiques Thank you for the added info on the drape pattern. Are you saying her pitcher is Kralik?
BTW a word of warning . Be very careful going into the Pressglas-Korrespondenz site. It sucks you in and before you know it the whole day has gone 🙂 Also Glenn Thistlewood is such a lovely person, she shares her knowledge so freely. Her sites are a great reference and she is often answering questions on the GMB , along with many other knowledgeable ppl, which is another good site for any glass that is of European origin.

Been a busy morning for me. Haven't recovered the chairs yet. I went into Miss P's room and decided to move the bed around, which as you all know, once you move one piece of furniture everything must get moved. LOL What was going to be just a couple of minutes took a couple of hours LOL
Katie @fyrqueen I have never tried the Vegemite singles. BUt I do on the odd occassion have a vegemite and cheese sandwich. Another way I eat vegemite is spread some on toast and top with a poached egg. Also a little in your mushroom when frying, plus some phillie cream cheese & a little italian herbs is to die for.
raoflmao @ @ohliz Can you imagine a parent getting away with that these days !!! I remember sneaking into the fridge and sampling Mum's sherry on the odd occassion LOL Not to mention...well OK.. I won't mention any more LOL I was a bugger of a kid LOL And that's what had made me the fine upstanding person that I am 😆 😆 😆 -
@ohliz LIZ ... ditto what you said! 😀 I enjoy John Bruno and Bene and Bob.. though I haven't seen Bob lately. But Miller and the never-smiling Kevin both come across to me as know-it-alls and they are always going to "teach" the seller what he has which seems to me quite condescending. Just my opinion....

Good Morning everyone. Miss P day today 🙂
Shelly @shellyrae37 Yes Gordon did have a good eye of what was going to become popular/collectable in the future. I wished I had listened to him more in the past.
Liz @ohliz 😆 thanks for my first laugh of the day re your Kangaroo Paw 😆 Yep Aussie plants are not designed to be looked after, they can be very ungrateful if you do molly coddle them LOL I had done that with a few plants before I was told to plant and then ignore. They live & survive in a harsh country all on their own and not used to being watered & fed regularly.
Gail @songbreeze Glad you got your car fixed

Good morning, glassies. Turned out that it was NOT the starter but the battery that was bad. Still expensive though...nearly $240 for part, labor, and tax. Eek! The car is back in the driveway and quite happy though. Will spend the day packing and going to the bank and picking up a few items (cookies & snacks) 🙂 to take with me.
@ohliz LIZ ... such a beautiful piece of Carnival Glass!
@wattleihavenext JULIE ... glad the weather is being kind for you because I know how much you enjoy your morning swim.
@10bbg10 HELEN ... was ready eCommerceBytes the other day and they were talking about how the search has changed and half.com items are being effected. Don't you list your books on half.com among other places?
Good morning to DON, SHELLY, and GEORGE!

Liz @ohliz yes the daisy like flower is flennel flower. I love flannel flowers and took the plunge a few weeks back and planted some in my garden. Not sure they will survive but I am going to give them a go. The Kangaroo Paw I planted a few years back is doing well. The secret to Aussie Natives surviving, so I am told, is to neglect them LOL. They are very hardy and used to harsh elements (droughts, hot sun etc) So I am sure they wil do well for me if neglect is the secret LOL

@ohliz Liz carnival glass color is the color of the glass not the iridescence. The exception is colorless glass which is called marigold. You might also want to look at the thistlewood site.

Just received a message on my answering machine from Marypat. The message came in at 4.30a.m here. I was at the pool at that time, so missed her 🙁 I had been trying for a long time to talk to her on her phone, but I kept getting her voicemail. So I decided I would contact her the old way via snail mail. All is well with her, but Bill not so good.
Liz @ohliz It doesn't seem all that long ago that Australian Carnival was a big NO NO LOL I shudder each time I think of the auction we went to and there was heaps of it on a table. The auctioneer was struggling to get bids, no one wanted it and my DH was very keen to buy it all for $2. I said NO!! No one wanted it back then. Dh kept saying to me that it would become popular again. Now I Wished I'd let him buy it all. But Hindsight is a great thing And had we bought them, would I have kept them packed away long enough or would I have packed it all up one day and sent of to an OP Shop so I could make room for better treasures LOL Just one of life's little " I should have.....if only I'd known" I am sure we all have those kind of stories LOL

Good Morning everyone. OH My such a glorious sunrise this morning at the pool 🙂 Water temps have improved and todays swim was very enjoyable. It was well worth getting up so early.
I am glad the "get up & get at it" voice won this morning and not the " Oh just roll over and go back to sleep, its too early" voice LOL
Liz @ohliz as soon as I read "waratah & emu" in your post I just knew immediately it was going to be a Crown Crystal piece. 🙂 Australiana is very sort after these days.
Gail @songbreeze fingers crossed the mechanic can deliver his promise and have your car ready in time

@shellyrae37 SHELLY ... So very glad to see you back and posting. I surely do hope you will get your heating fuel and furnace up and running today. I hope shopping for the new appliances will be a fun venture for you all and not an ordeal. Sure did miss you and glad your here. ((((Hugs))))
@carma CARL ... beautiful foliage!
@baabaamason BOB in KY ... lovely tray, but I'm not familiar with it. Super looking ship!
Had a very long day in Joplin yesterday. Buying very little for now. Got the booth restocked though. Had hope to stay home and rest today, but a friend called and needs some help so I'll be gone for part of the afternoon. Weather is very pretty here for now which is a delight.
