@donscns DON and @shellyrae37 SHELLY ... It was September of 2007, so 6 years ago. Fran stays busy busy busy on Facebook posting pics of wonderful wine tasting tours, restaurant outings, blues festivals, motorcycle trips etc. Nancy S stays very active on Facebook in several FB Glass forums.

Suzy @suzy I finally got around to listening to Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" played on a glass harp.It takes a little while for my computer to upload it. I have to first let it upload, very slow and jerky and then I have to replay to get to hear it properly with it stopping and starting.

@dave Dave ... there are no rules against knowing what one has for sale. You can click on our links in our profiles that show what we are selling on eBay, Bonanza, Webstore, etc. If you have a list of things you are selling, can't you just link to a page? Anyone can then send you a private email message from here.

There is a Donate button on the bottom of the right hand column that we like to use to keep Curt, our webmaster, in coffee. 🙂

Good Morning everyone. Swimming was a No Goer again this morning. King Tides and storms have battered our beaches something fierce. And there was no sign of there even being a pool under all that surf.

@dave DAVE ... here in NE Oklahoma anything that can be glued to those stupid dollar store candlesticks IS glued. The "redneck" goblet here is a Ball or Mason or Kerr fruit jar glued to the sticks. Of course, any bowl will turn it into a compote...any plate into a cake salver......... drives me nutty.

Good afternoon, glassies. Got up at the crack of dawn to get to an auction. Just got home and I'm too pooped to pop! Manage to spend nearly $200 on absolutely worthless junk interesting stuff. Anyone need a brand new baseball hat? I'm now the proud owner of 48...but what can you do when you can get the lot for just $2.00. 😀

@donscns DON ... looks like that bad weather which we had a good dose of yesterday and all last night, is moving in again late this afternoon and will stay until tomorrow afternoon/evening sometime. The weather channels are on full stand-by...cutting in programs and commercials. Got our emergency bags packed should we need to duck and cover. Real Wizard of Oz weather on the way.

@dave DAVE ... good to see you and as GEORGE would say "glad you are vertical and ventilating." LOL. Dave, I have your html page bookmarked and I use it every evening to test my morning coffee gif before I post it!!!! Yep, eBay's changed alot but many of us keep on plugging away. 🙂

@wattleihavenext - Isn't that neat, high tea! I want to start talking with an British accent all of a sudden. And my little pinky is suddenly sticking out! It's great your DD likes the old and elegant and can share that interest with you. My kids still think of it as "mom's ebay thing". They think it's cool to buy something for a buck and resell it for $50, but have no interest in the actual things that sell. I did give DGD a vintage 50's toy piano for Christmas last year that I hope will become a family heirloom in her time. But, I also gave this DS a set of Fostoria stemware a few years ago and he and GF got rid of them and replaced them with horrid Walmart stuff!

Shelly - I have AVG and never have a problem with chatabout site pages. I'm sure there's a way to set your AVE so it will "allow" certain sites.

@dave - great idea!

I've also been thinking about adding a link in my listings and me page. I think the ebay rule is that you can't have links to sites that sell, but maybe that's changed again?

I've wondered if it would be proper to add a link in PGP posts over there. What's the etiquette for that?

I think It's a good thing to promote this chat so we can attract other glass people so that we don't get "stale". But we won't be having newbies just popping in here like we had on the old chat - having to register to make a post will surely slow that down. Before, we just hopped around from board to board over there without having to be a member on each. Sadly, we won't be able to have such happy, randomness as we enjoyed there.

@dave I think it is a good idea too.I know ebay dumped us but it is how we all became friends And how else can we get new members now the GB is shut down. How will any new ebay sellers know where to go to get help. This is what makes most of the members here tick, helping newcomers to the world of glass as well as helping them with the selling of glass on eBay. I know the PGP Forum still exists but it can get a bit complicated over there trying to follow threads

@shellyrae37 My DD loves elegant items. She is not a collector and does not like clutter. There are only a few items here that she will one day like to have but she does ot want all of it LOL. Which is fine by me because all these years of collecting is my retirement fund and for the next 10 years I will be selling off what I have .And in the end there will ony be a few very special items left for DD and those being the Nekkid LadiesBut she does not want all the floats bowls, just one. She loves the lamps as well, so they will remain for her
@fran I used my old link in my Bookmarks & was taken back to 2005. Then I tried again using Shelly's link & I keep getting "Wayback Machine doesn't have that page archived" 🙁 I must be doing something wrong
