Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, @oklahomasong_Gail and @Shelly. The actual b-day is a little later in the month! I've been concentrating on making art this fall so haven't needed to pester y'all with glass questions, but I always count on your being here! - Susan

Hi, all. I'm one of the few collectors of flip-top bowls, made of glass, vitrified china and rarely metal. I have what I thought was a flip-top bowl when I bought it on ebay last year, but when it arrived I did not know what it could be. It is about 4 1/2" in diameter, and the lid does not open to allow a spoon, so it's not for sugar, salt or condiments. It is stamped England, and also J.C. & Sons. Does anyone have any idea of who the manufacturer was, time period, and what this thing is?! I've uploaded a bunch of photos to my website: http://susan-phillips.com/photos-2014/ Thanks for any help!

Hi, @Shelly, and thanks for the Google link. Unfortunately, most of what I found were photos from my own site!

Hi, all. Here's another display of my appreciation for, but ignorance of, EAPG. I'm referring to the two flip-top bowls at the bottom of this page: http://susan-phillips.com/mystery-clear-glass.html
I'm assuming they are the same pattern, but neither has any manufacturing marks, either on the lids or bowls. Are these familiar to y'all?
As always, thanks for taking the time to look!

@oklahomasong_Gail and @itsagas, thanks so much for making the ID on my green bowl. No doubt that you're right that it's the Anchor Hocking Forest Green Splash Proof Mixing Bowl. That's one more out of the mystery section, thanks to you all!

Hi, all. I bought a flip-top bowl that the seller said was made by Jenkins Glass Co., and I am curious to find out if that's true. If you have a chance, would you take a look at this page http://susan-phillips.com/mystery-green-glass.html and scroll down past the first series of photos to the very dark green bowl and tell me what y'all think?
Thanks so much for your time and opinions, Susan

As threatened, I'm back with another flip-top mystery glass with a Benedict Indestructo lid. I have quite a few with a wider rib but am hoping this narrow rib (also have one in clear) will ring a bell with someone:

http://susan-phillips.com/2012-mystery-glass/narrow-green-ribbed-lid-backstamp.jpg@songbreeze My website is a compilation of my flips and those of my friend John, who I met virtually on ebay after we went head-to-head a couple of times. The one you're referring to belongs to him, and it's my intention after I work through mine to request new photos of his. He has some beauties!
Thanks so much for any help. I so appreciate your patience.

Thanks so much for your warm welcome! Gail, I'm sure I proved my ignorance with getting the Toltec in the wrong spot. Is it correct now? (http://susan-phillips.com/unidentified-glass.html)
And to go back to my question of the clear pink bowl I posted, I see I have a couple of photos of its Jadite and clear cousins at the number 2 spot on this same page.
I'm gradually starting to take better photos of some of these pieces, with improved detail, so if you don't mind I'll bug y'all with them occasionally.

Greetings! I'm a collector of glass and pottery flip-top bowls that were used most commonly for sugar or salt. I have a working knowledge of restaurant ware, but almost none of glass.
I'm getting ready to redesign my website (http://susan-phillips.com) and am hoping to identify some of my glass flips. Member itsagas recommended you all to me with the hope that you might be able to give me some help.
I asked the good people at ebay's pottery and glass board for help, and for this particular piece was told that it was likely made by McKee, Anchor Hocking or Jeannette.
It has no markings on either the bowl or lid and is extremely heavy, thick glass with beautiful convex panels. I also have ones exactly like it in both clear and Jadite. (These bowls with thinner glass and flat panels were very common.) Size is approximately 4 1/2" in diameter.
Here are photos:
