@wattleihavenext Julie, great going on the sales! The weather here in NJ has been very odd -- lots of rain, a few dry days in the middle where we were under fire watch because of a dry wind, hot days, cold days. As it's May, I refused to have the heat on in the house. My poor husband was complaining as it was only 59F in our bedroom one night, just a few days after it was almost 90 outside.
I'm just back from the EAPG Society annual meeting where I connected with two members of our old Glassaholics group -- Roger Haworth and Karen MacIntyre, now Karen Welch. Hopefully this photo link works. https://photos.app.goo.gl/MUb6GVQvfDSks4CT9

Lots & lots of rain in NJ! So far not a lot of wind although there is still a wind advisory and a flood watch. I was going to a glass show/sale this afternoon but think I'll just stay home warm and dry (the road I'd need to take has a tendency to flood.)
@carma/Carl, I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my laptop a while a go. The real shock was going from Windows 7 to Windows 11 on my PC -- I really hate Windows 11, everything is an app not software. I'm holding out as long as I can to keep my laptop. So sad that you'll miss seeing the girls again.
Yikes, @fyrqueen/Katie, I hope your son will be okay. My poor brother & SIL (who both have medical issues) just got Covid -- their first time. They've been very careful and are current on all of their boosters. Glad you were "rescued" quickly when your poor Subaru broke down.
@wattleihavenext/Julie, it's pretty amazing the friendships we've all made through our glass. I'll be going to the EAPG annual convention in May and will get to see Roger and Karen, two long-time glassies.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, we've been having similar weather although we're moving into fall. It's chilly at night and in the morning, but then it warms up. Supposed to be in the mid-60s later today. And by the weekend it's supposed to hit 80, not a fall temperature by any means.

@wattleihavenext Julie, how miserable!! We're having a few days of summer here in NJ -- it hit 80F today and is supposed to do the same tomorrow. The sky was a brilliant blue, but I understand that as far down as Florida, there was haze from the forest fires in Canada. By the end of the week we're supposed to get some rain and then it looks like more normal October weather. I may actually have to bite the bullet and turn the heat on next week as at night it will be in the low 50s. I hope your weather settles down and acts like spring.

@wattleihavenext Julie, yes, Moose (akaJimD) was a good person.

@wattleihavenext Beautiful photo, Julie, of you and the Taj Mahal!
More rain overnight -- it is so humid!! Finally supposed to clear out and be nice for the next few days.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, glad you're safely back home. Loved seeing all of your photos on FB.
Another August day in NJ. Yesterday afternoon it was so humid (had just rained a little) that it felt hard to walk because the air was so thick. At least my garden seems to be enjoying this weather.

@carma Carl, the weather has been so crazy. After a winter of not a lot of snow, to get three storms in less than a week is crazy! The first "real" snow we've had in NJ was last Monday night into Tuesday.
@wattleihavenext Julie, we're having more "winter" weather in March than we had in January and February. Of course there's been just enough warm weather in between the cold spells that daffodils are several inches up and other things are starting to bud.
Rembering George/gable @george -- he helped us know when it was a new day on the board. He was a very knowledgeable glassie and a very nice person. I was lucky enough to meet up with him twice on trips to Seattle.
-
@wattleihavenext That is such a wonderful thing you do! And it's good for you too -- lots of exercise and then time to relax. I know that we both do Wordle, I also do Spelling Bee. One of the words that come up often is acacia -- aka wattle, so I think of you when I see it.
Back to February today -- sunny but cold. At least the wind is dying down.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, sounds like the puppy sitting is less eventful than it used to be (presumably none of your belongings were eaten!) How wonderful for your granddaughter! I saw the photos on FB -- absolutely lovely! The India adventure sounds amazing.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, I hope you get your day away. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. {{hugs}} It sounds like we've been having very similar weather. Today it is supposed to get into the 50s, but overnight it's been below freezing. The wind does seem to have calmed down.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, that does have all the comforts of home! It does look like it would be fun.

@wattleihavenext Julie, I'm sure Carl will have more information, but I just looked it up on the Doty website, and at least in 2019, the price for a plate in marigold was incredible! https://www.ddoty.com/shellsand.html

@wattleihavenext Goodness, Julie, it sounds awful! Nothing is normal anymore -- it doesn't just rain, it's torrential; there aren't just storms, they're cyclone bombs and other massive storms. What a mess!!

I know someone who was trying to sell a calendar with photos of cats and FB shut it down because he was "selling live animals". As he had several other successful selling outlets and hadn't actually sold any calendars on FB before they shut him down, he didn't really care.
Oh, Julie, @wattleihavenext I remember that!! I guess we should be happy that computers aren't as smart as we are (yet)!

@wattleihavenext Julie, wow, it's been a whole year. Time has been so strange this past 1-1/2 years.
@fyrqueen Katie, feeling much better today, so I guess the booster shot does boost the antibodies but they may have already been up there, so it wasn't nearly as bad as the second shot.

I think the snow showers may finally be done. We did get about 5 inches yesterday then some freezing rain, then some more snow overnight. And then periodic snow showers throughout the day.
@fyrqueen Katie -- sounds like a fun place to get your shots. Our first dose (as well as second which will a week from this coming Monday) were at a local community center.
@wattleihavenext Julie -- I was never very keen on bowling. We went when I was a youngster (it was a school program) and I had trouble picking up a bowling ball, so I never really got into it.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, that's beautiful!!
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, waving back at you! I think everyone is worn out from last week. Your challenge sounds interesting. I've been doing pretty while on the exercising -- I walk at least once per day (try to do at least 5 miles but if I only walk once it's usually between 3 & 4 miles) and I take Yoga class 4 times per week. It's great that my Yoga studio has their classes on Zoom. I'm getting spoiled, though. While my house isn't ideal for Yoga (my cat Charley has been having fun sharpening his claws on my mat), it is nice to not have to drive into town and park and walk to the studio.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, I am involved in multiple virtual run/walks for various organizations I support. So this past Sunday I did a 5K walk for Ari's Bears (remembering Ariella, a child who died of cancer ~1-1/2 years ago). Starting on Saturday, I'll be walking for a virtual bike & walking event, the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride. It was supposed to be this past May and my daughter was in charge of the southern route (N.C. to Maryland) -- I was her official "wingman" which meant taking care of her cats for most of the week and then joining the riders the last two days (not on a bike!) So from Saturday through the following Friday, I'll be counting up my walking miles for them. Then the weekend of Sept. 26, is the virtual Curefest for Childhood Cancer (September is Childhood Cancer Month) -- they have an ongoing challenge for the month to try to log at least 5,000 steps per day. I'm on a streak -- 16 days. And then on the Sunday of that weekend there will be a virtual walk. Meanwhile I do 3 to 5 Yoga classes a week on Zoom.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, I'm so sorry to hear this. Gentle {{hugs}} for your niece.
@george George, glad you got through another shot!
We're still in the tropics apparently -- Tropical Depression Fay has been dropping a lot of rain on us along with some wind. I guess this makes up for last week when there wasn't any rain. This is our second big rainstorm of the week.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! The cake looks delicious -- definitely fine for breakfast (I'm sure it contains eggs and flour and maybe even milk, all part of a healthy breakfast).

@wattleihavenext Julie, I have several "mantra" rings. One says "this too shall pass" (also Just Breathe, Let Go, and No Mud, No Lotus.)
@dorbitz JimL, first, on a regular basis, our brains are so full of information, some of it sometimes gets lost (I was trying to remember the names of our neighbors children and grandchildren yesterday, slowly started coming back -- just remembered the last grandchildren as I was typing this -- still only can remember 1 out of the 3 SILs). Second, we all have pandemic brain right now so everything is muddled (I do the weekly eLetter for our synagogue which includes the schedule for the weekend service -- on Zoom of course -- and totally blew the dates in Thursday's email. Said Friday was May 7 and then didn't change Saturday & Sunday from the week before.)
It is chilly & windy here in NJ too. At the moment (10AM) it's 39, feels like 30. At least it's nice & sunny. Very glad I tucked the delicate plants into my car last night. Will go visit them soon.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, I saw that several towns around us were going to have the Easter Bunny at places like the Fire House or one of the school, and people would be able to drive their children by to see. No stopping and no photo ops.
-
Julie (@wattleihavenext) asked me to give you all an update on her Nepal trip as she can't access the group via her phone. So I'm posting yesterday and today's FB messages.
1. We have had a hectic but fun couple of days. Yesterday was Holi. It was very quiet this year because of the virus scare. But we enjoyed ourselves. Lots of laughs and too much rice beer.lol Today started with yoga at Monkey temple and some sightseeing. Tomorrow we start our trek unsure how much internet availability there will be.
2. After a long and bumpy journey and some "hairy" moments, we made it safely to Syaprubesi The roads are not the best and at one stage it took us 3hours to travel just 60kilometres. Yoga session done to stretch out the aches and pains of the jolting ride lol A cold shower to wish the dust off and now waiting for dinner to be cooked. OMG it smells so good.
-
Hello-o-o-o!!! I hope everyone's okay. No sign of @george George or @carma Carl or @dorbit JimL or any of the other regulars. I know that Julie @wattleihavenext is off cruising.
Much of the snow/ice has melted here in NJ -- still some on the grass but the streets and driveway are pretty clear.
-
The crazy weather is coming to NJ -- it was 50F when I went to Yoga this morning (7:30AM). Now at 11:14AM it's 37F, feels like 28F, with some snow flurries. Low tonight is supposed to be 22F.
@george George, we were in Seattle from Thursday evening until yesterday (arrived home last night). Friday was lovely (sunny & high 50s), rainy on Saturday (what i expected, and I had packed my raincoat), and mixed clouds on Sunday. Didn't realize that the Sounders were playing the MLS finals on Sunday -- bought a scarf to wear. I did get to see the small fireworks that were shot off at the end of the game when they won. (Also got to meet some nice people from Toronto as I was wondering around on Saturday and Sunday.)
@wattleihavenext Julie, that is so scary!! It's so hard to believe this is happening in Australia. {{hugs}}
-
Good morning from sunny and very pleasant NJ -- cooler temps and no humidity. We got back home yesterday from the shore. Already miss it.
@wattleihavenext Julie, hope the Rugby goes well. Sending {{hugs}}, in many ways it's better to know it wasn't suicide, but still so sad to lose your friend.
-
@panishklo Marson, I've heard about Canadian bagels and how they differ from those from the NYC area. It was possible to eat the waffles and the lox separately, for those who didn't like the combo. (I understand my son made himself avocado toast with a side of lox the morning before.)
@wattleihavenext Julie, the mug is cute, but doesn't apply this week as it's vacation (and actually Friday is when we have to head home!)
At Yoga class this morning, I heard that it was possibly a water spout that hit our area Monday afternoon. From 19th to 25th street there was wind damage -- and we're in the middle between 21st & 22nd. One of the houses 3 down from us had their deck furniture blown into their neighbors yards. We did see that the lifeguard chairs down at the beach were blown over and two were smashed to pieces.
-
@wattleihavenext @panishklo Julie & Marson, thank you!!! It's been a fun day!
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, welcome home!! Loved your photos -- especially granddaughter in the "bird's next".

Thank you for the good wishes (and the lovely cake!) I had decided last summer I was tired of teaching and that this past year would be my last. As things turned out, it was a good decision. As far as what I'm going to be doing -- as a start, trying to catch up on my life that was somewhat on hold this past year while dealing with my parents. I'm looking forward to playing more in my garden, getting back into my fitness routine (more walking and maybe more yoga), organizing my house, and traveling. DH is officially retired from public school teaching but still does consulting and belongs to a variety of organizations that have conferences in interesting places. In September, I'll be joining him on a trip to Copenhagen.
@wattleihavenext Julie, that is the weather we've been having -- warm, sunny days but cool nights (which are so great for sleeping) and just enough rain to keep the garden happy. Hopefully sometime in the next year or so DH and I will make a trip to Australia.
@george George, will be out in Seattle for a long weekend (6/29-7/3). Apparently the weather for the US has swapped around -- the West Coast has the usual East Coast June weather and we're enjoying Seattle weather right now.

@wattleihavenext Julie, sending {{hugs}} and good thoughts to you!!
Drove down to Virginia today to spend the weekend with my daughter. I'm looking forward to experiencing 3 seasons over the next few days -- winter, spring, & summer. So it's cold today, they might get a little snow tomorrow. Saturday it will be more seasonable for March. And Sunday it's supposed to be 67F. I packed such a mix of clothes, put my snow boots in the car, and wore my down vest and a lighter coat so I didn't have to bring my down coat.

We've been back & forth to DD's in Virginia a few times in the past month. DH had two different conferences down in DC -- I went down for part of each. Besides DD, DH's sister & BIL live down there as well as their daughter, SIL, and two grandkids. And my brother's son & his fiancee are also down there, so we have lots of people to visit.

@wattleihavenext Julie, have a wonderful time!!
Visiting DD in Virginia -- it's sunny and supposed to warm up today but right now it's chilly. Even saw a brief snow flurry yesterday. It's possible they may have snow for the first day of spring.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, that is beautiful!! (the glass too!) How wonderful that your uncle was able to restore it.
@panishklo Marson, glad to hear things are starting to melt. I have to start walking again -- I had more excuses this winter, too dark, too cold, too icy. Now that it's light longer and the weather is pleasant, my neighbor and I will start walking regularly again.
-
@carma Carl, I wonder if the change in payment has to do with the fact that eBay and PayPal have parted ways? I did see that the collectibles area will still allow the shorter return policy.
@wattleihavenext Julie, I hope you do get a quick sale on the buffet/hutch. How nice that you will have your grandmother's sideboard.
Turned out to be a very pleasant day -- sunny and warm but not hot.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, glad it was found and that treatment is relatively easy. Hoping for more rain for you!
It's a sunny day -- started cool (had to scrape my windshield before I could head to Yoga class this morning) but will warm up. However, I'm not saying "early spring" just yet. We've gotten some major snowstorms in March before. Hopefully we will get more precipitation, either liquid or solid, as our reservoirs are still low.
-
@carma Carl, sounds like you have a nice evening in store -- enjoy!!
@wattleihavenext Julie, welcome back, glad it was a good trip.
-
@panishklo & @wattleihavenext Marson & Julie -- thank you for the 1/2 birthday greetings!! If we're celebrating in person, we sometimes do as Julie did and have half of a cake. I've been known to send my kids birthday cards cut in half or now a text message with every other letter. It mainly started with our daughter -- her birthday is the beginning of August (her half-birthday is Ground Hog Day) so she couldn't have a celebration in school. We arranged to send in cupcakes on her half-birthday so she could celebrate in school. Then our son's half-birthday often winds up on Thanksgiving, so it gives us something extra to celebrate then.
-
@carma Wow, Carl, that sure was a mess!! I'm glad you were able to warm up and get something hot to eat in town. And then to have to also replace your monitor, yikes! I'm glad things are relatively back to normal.
@wattleihavenext Julie, HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!! Enjoy the day off. I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. {{hugs}}
Meanwhile, here in NJ, it's sunny but chilly. Noticed Verizon trucks on our street and Verizon guys banging things on the telephone poles. I'm guessing this might have something to do with the letter we got yesterday from Verizon that our copper wires are being replaced by fiber. Joy oh joy, here comes Fios.

@wattleihavenext Julie, I did see the headline to a story about the weather in Australia which was something about the tar melting on the roads. Let's hope we both get some moderating temperatures.

When I went to my Yoga class today, I wore my fleece warm-up pants over my Yoga pants so my legs wouldn't freeze. Plus the down jacket, fleece hat, scarf, and gloves. @wattleihavenext Julie, sounds like a fun evening and he does sound adorable -- bet he's just bursting to tell you the surprise. Years ago I was doing a surprise party for my DH -- and then realized I'd never get the house cleaned up if he didn't know about it. So the party wasn't a surprise, but the guest list was. Our then 5-year old daughter was very indignant, telling me she was able to keep the secret and why couldn't I? :~)
-

-
@carma Yikes, Carl, that is awful!! Not having water available, and with no advance warning, is terrible!! I hope it can be fixed/replaced quickly at a reasonable cost.
Here in NJ there is a strange bright thing in the sky. After a foggy start to the day, it looks like we may actually have a little sun.
@wattleihavenext Julie, ahh, your seasons change on the first of a month, not on the equinoxes/solstices like they do here. We'll start summer (the opposite of your winter), on the summer solstice which won't be until June 21, 3 weeks after your change.
-
Thank you @fyrqueen Katie and @wattleihavenext Julie -- getting older definitely is not for sissies and when it's your parents, it really is tough.
Katie, sounds like your DH is really doing better -- hopefully clearing up the UTI will be a real help. Are you familiar with the Beers Criteria Medication List (named for a Dr. Beers)? It lists potentially inappropriate medications for the elderly. https://www.dcri.org/beers-criteria-medication-list/ The doctor at the acute facility told me about it. It is a shame that there just aren't enough nurses and aides at these facilities. (My mom hired a private duty overnight aide for my dad at the sub-acute facility.) And I understand exactly how your DH is reacting -- some of the people at the facilities are so sad to see and hear. I am so sorry your are both going through this. Wishing you strength and love and lots more quality time with your DH!!!

Good morning from snowy NJ. They are talking 1 to 3 inches but not sure when it will end and how much we will get. I teach today, two sections of my class, first from 2 to 4:30 and second from 5:30 to 8. Waiting to see if they do any cancellations. Then I also have to make a decision as president of my synagogue -- we have after-school Hebrew School for our students from 4 to 6 pm, not sure if we will cancel or not. Waiting to see what storm does (and also whether any of the public schools that the kids go to have an early dismissal, in which case we'll cancel).
@reen Reen, sorry to hear you were sick, good to see you back!
@wattleihavenext Julie, what a gorgeous coffee/tea pot (though I'm not sure you could really put anything hot in it).

@wattleihavenext Julie, but it has nothing to do with climate change (records show 2016 was once again one of the hottest years on record). Try to stay cool! And I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. Glad you had some time away.

@wattleihavenext Julie still looks good LOL. Thanks for the information.

@wattleihavenext Julie, what Shelly was referring to was a tragic fire here in the US. It was in Tennessee and burned through many homes and several people died. It turns out it was set by three teenagers. This was a tourist area and beautiful nature area, and included the area where Dolly Parton's resort is located. She has pledged to help people who lost their homes and will be giving them money -- she is a real classy lady. And I was thinking of you today when I went past the Buena Vista -- though I didn't stop for an Irish coffee. (And I think the people on the cable car yesterday were Australian -- one of their kids, who was standing in front of me and wasn't always holding on properly because his hands were cold, was named Perry. Twice I grabbed the hood on his jacket because I was nervous about him falling.)
@shellyrae37 Shelly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Glad to see you back -- I'd actually raised the alarm on your absence, but Irene reminded me that you were going to Texas and there wasn't a computer there.

Good morning from sunny, cooler NJ.
@wattleihavenext Julie, sending {{hugs}} and prayers.
@fyrqueen Katie, the NJ blueberries seem to be coming to an end (at least at the supermarket -- I think they're still at the farmers' markets). Next up will be Michigan blueberries and then they come from Canada. Of course earlier in the summer they came from the Carolinas.
-
Thank you, Julie @wattleihavenext I didn't realize my birthday had dropped off of my profile -- I put it back on.
-
@shellyrae37 Shelly, sorry to hear about your well. We haven't had any heavy rains in my part of NJ -- it rains north of us, it rains south of us, it rains west of us, but we only get a little rain. I watered my tomato plants yesterday and today they're dry again.
@wattleihavenext Julie, sending prayers for your mom and sister and for you for strength and peace and healing and sending gentle {{hugs}} to all.

@wattleihavenext Happy Birthday, Julie!!!!

@panishklo Marson, sending {{hugs}}, I'm glad your mom was able to see some spring flowers and be at home with her loved ones. Wishing you all well.
@glassusa Bob, yikes -- that is just too bizarre! I thought you were going to say that they said they were china or something but that glassware is only something you drink out of!
@reen Reen, sending good thoughts for your surgery, hoping it goes well and that you heal quickly.
@wattleihavenext Julie, glad you're not out in the rain!
Still cool here for almost May -- we're supposed to get a day of rain tomorrow which is fine, the gardens need it.

Good morning! DH and I are off on an adventure -- we're in Israel. We arrived Thursday and have been seeing sights in Tel Aviv and relaxing (we spent yesterday afternoon at the beach). This afternoon the group from our synagogue arrives. We'll be on a tour until next Sunday, seeing many part of Israel I've never seen, winding up in Jerusalem.
@wattleihavenext Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. Sending gentle {{hugs}} and prayers to all.
@panishklo Marson, hi to you!! Glad the weather is nice.
It was sad to read about Betty/sjell, she was a wonderful lady. Although we never managed to get together the time I was visiting Florida, we at least spoke on the phone.

@wattleihavenext Julie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you've been having a great day.
@dorbitz JimL, I have the same situation, Windows 7 on my desktop and 8.1 on my touchscreen laptop. Microsoft has posted an icon for me to click to upgrade the laptop to Win10 -- will wait until it's further beyond beta. Not sure if I'll switch the desktop -- to me Win 8.1 (and presumably Win 10) is pointless unless you have a touchscreen. One of these days will finally upgrade desktop to Office 365 which is on the laptop.

@shellyrae37 Shelly, apparently the storms went north and south of our area (southern NJ did get hit hard and they are still restoring power in some places), although I've seen photos of downed trees in towns that are no more than 15 to 20 minutes from us. We barely got any rain. I'd even taken my glass windchime down in case of the strong winds and/or hail. I am hoping that we do get some rain as my garden could use it. I watered things in pots and a few new and recent plantings but more is needed. By the way, you can get some very nice tomato plants for much less at Lowe's.
@wattleihavenext Julie, I hope the weather cooperates for your party.

@fyrqueen Katie, good for you!!
@carma Carma, looking forward to your review -- we have boxes of carousels of slides that were my FILs. Now that DH is retired, going through the slides is supposed to be one of his objectives.
@wattleihavenext Julie, glad to hear that progress is being made and you're having some nice weather.

@wattleihavenext Julie, your trip sounded like fun -- you know my DH would have been out there with you in a kayak (maybe even me too). Had to share one of my recent thrift/consignment shop finds with you:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Y-nbjk7llsvjsiQsN8sJ7_8BgcLsdOLt_TDvAtyEDQE?feat=directlinkAlthough on the receipt they did ring up as Wedgwood, the tags on each one said Blue & White plate. The Harrods one they got right, but the one bottom left simply said "w/ Map" and the upper one said "w/ Oriental Boat". I, of course, looked and said Australia and the Sydney Opera House.
-
@favoritegram LAINEY ... Wishing you a very wonderful and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
@wattleihavenext JULIE ... sounds like it would have been great fun to meet up in person with your cyber friends.
Just frigid cold today and suppose to remain that way for a few days. That's usually a good way to get me to stay indoors and catch up with housework. 🙂

Good evening from San Francisco -- our last night here. Today was nice and sunny (and warmer than it is in NJ). As we know, everything is relative. So even though it's been in the high 50s here, the native SFs have been complaining about it being cold.
@wattleihavenext Julie, lots of people from Australia here in SF.
@jmart8248 IreneM, glad they found what was wrong; diverticulitis can be really yucky, hope it's cleared up soon.
@songbreeze Gail, I hope today went okay for you.
-
Good morning from San Francisco where the sun is out!! Still might rain this afternoon so I'm flipping my schedule around (was going to work on students' grades and then head to a museum) and heading out to ride the cable cars.
@songbreeze Gail, beautiful menorah -- will go to an outdoor Menorah lighting this evening.
@wattleihavenext Julie, so sad that people were killed. The early report I saw only said the situation was over, didn't have the sad news.
@maryr Marymel, way to go with the flatware! We have a somewhat similar set from Sweden (where my in-laws were visiting just before we got married). It cost a lot when I wanted to expand the set. I still do some kayaking, not nearly as much as my DH.

Julie @wattleihavenext , the html examples in the How-To manual should still work. The code that you're using also works, but it is just being converted to HTML. I think your code is called BBCode and Wikipedia provides a good description, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode

@shellyrae37 Happy Birthday, Shelly!!
@wattleihavenext Julie, sending {{hugs}} Glad to hear the hostage situation in Sydney is over, hopefully with no injuries. Absolutely loved the outpouring of support for the Australian Muslims -- offers by non-Muslims to accompany Muslims so they wouldn't be harassed.
@carma Carma, no matter the age, cash is always appreciated (that's what my mom gives children, grandchildren, etc.) For my nieces and nephews (and often my children) I go with giftcards -- iTunes, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble. Sometimes I tailor the gift card to a specific situation -- so the nephew who recently started living on his own got a Bed, Bath, & Beyond card; the niece & nephew who bought their first house got a Lowe's giftcard, they also got a Legal Seafood card because their house is in Boston.

So sorry to read about NancyG.
@carma Carl, good news about your radiator -- also that you have an honest mechanic who only fixes what needs to be fixed and charges accordingly.
@wattleihavenext Julie, glad you're able to start exercising again and that your wrist is healing.
-
@wattleihavenext Julie, so sorry to hear about your smashed wrist. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Good Morning everyone.
I have found a couple goodies at the thrift store lately. One of them was a small, 3 1/2", Daisy and Button with Crossbar, canary stem. It holds less than 2oz. I think it's the cordial. Does anyone know for sure?@jerseystar27 Very nice booth. I hope your not too sore. I hate to ask...but have to know. Was any glass hurt? LOL
@JimD, I'm clueless. What is a thunder shirt?
@wattleihavenext , and @jmart8248 Yep blond moments..we all have them. LMBO at Julie's story about the ATM because that happened to Jerry and I just the other Day. My youngest totaled her car so she asked us to go to the bank for her. The branch Jerry and I use has only been open about a year so everything is newer (all touchscreen). We pull up in the drive through and around about the third step, it says enter pin number. Jerry says "Where the heck is the touch pad" Well I don't see it either so we figure he did something wrong, so we start over. Same thing again. "Well maybe it is on the next page. Hit next." Nope. Start over again. Then start over again. About that time, I told him "I feel like we are on one of those hidden camera shows." By this time I was only half joking. I look around and I see it! A manual keypad to the right of the touchscreen, but it has a tinted plexiglass hood on it that obscures the numbers from anyone lurking nearby. Oh my goodness. We laughed so hard!
@wjweese Wow, great job on the tree skirts! They a amazing. Especially Big Momma!
@george I thought of you the other day. I was at the thrift store and someone had donated a collection of different colored Geogian tumblers. I almost picked up the 3 best ones(they were only .95 each) but put them back. They were apple green, ruby, and a light blue with the seam going around the hexagon.
@fyrqueen, You are a gutsy lady! There is no way I am getting out of my bed in the middle of the night, to see what that sound is! I can handle a little mouse but... until you open the door, you don't know what it is. If it was anything bigger I would have had to change my jammies! lol
