• @panishklo Marson -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

    @songbreeze Gail -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

  • Our weather has had a turn around and we are now experiencing some lovely sunny spring days with cool evenings and early mornings . Just perfect.
Shelly @shellyrae37 I think most of the members that used this chatroom have now all gone over to Facebook or other social media sites. There are so many glass groups of all eras and interests for them to be involved with on FB. Carl @carma only pops in every now and then. He goes weeks without posting anything. Our dear Marson @panishklo always stops by on special occasions such as birthdays.

  • Good Morning, dark, gloomy and raining here and thunderstorms predicted. Hopefully that will ease the humidity.

Shelly @shellyrae37 I had a lovely few days away camping by the river. It was hot but I had a nice shady tree to sit under and a river to swim in to cool down. The camp ground was very well kept by the managers, truly a beautiful spot and they don't pack everyone in on top of each other. We had lots of room and were well away from everyone. And the beauty of it , it was only 30 minutes drive from home. We thought there was a total fire ban so we didn't take any wood for a camp fire.
Katie @fyrqueen glad you and Mike are over covid
Marson @panishklo enjoy your exercise time. I did my gym workout this morning at 6 a.m
Nancy @jerseystar27 Looks like we may be getting our summer back at the end of the week. Crazy weather
Carl @carma I hope by now you are all dug out and no more snow for you

  • Marson @panishklo the best thing about me baking cakes, is they are never failures, look exactly like they are suppose to look and totally calorie free 😆 😆 😆
Shelly @shellyrae37 it's 30 Celsius here atm. and humid. But at least the breeze that is blowing is pleasant and is helping. It's perfect sitting on my front verandah. But I am sure the young man who is pressure cleaning my driveway is feeing it, working out in the afternoon sun. I hope you can get your frozen pipes sorted to prevent it happening again.
Nancy @jerseystar27 I do my banking and I pay all my bills online too. I am trying to remember the last time I had to actually write a date on anything.

  • @panishklo Yikes, Marson! Snow already? We're just coming off a crazy warm spell where it's been in the 70s. Finally tomorrow it's supposed to be back in the 50s.

  • Marson @panishklo Gad you enjoyed the cake And the best part is NO CALORIES 😆 😆

Yesterday afternoon became extremely humid. Not good for working out at the gym, It was a shocker. And now today the sky is blue, sun is out but it is terribly windy. Seems we just can't take a trick with our weather lately.
Today I got a little closer to my 63 kg back squat goal . I did 55kgs x2 . I am feeling good about that and hopefully it helps and encourages the young girl to achieve her goal and also help her with her low self esteem.

  • @panishklo Happy Birthday, Marson!! Enjoy the weather! And don't forget there are also some macaroons that Julie put out.

@songbreeze Happy Birthday, Gail!! Wishing you a wonderful day!

Another lovely day in NJ -- with no chance of rain, just sunny. My next-door neighbor, & walking buddy, and I will visit our local nature center this afternoon so we can ooh and aah over the beautiful fall foliage.

  • Good afternoon. It's still raining here, though over the weekend, we did have a couple of lovely sunny Spring kind of days. Weather predictions are....repeat rain, repeat rain. I'm getting a bit over everything being cancelled because of it. I am not game to plan anything outdoors e.g camping . You never know if it will flood or if the campgrounds will get way too boggy, that you get stuck or if there will be road closures etc. It's just crazy!!
I have cancelled my plans for my solo adventure trip to Queensland BUT I am getting very excited about the planning of my trip to Nepal/India next year.2023.I'll be saving my money for this. It's been in the pipeline for awhile but Covid and restrictions have held us up. It is A motorbike trek from Kathmandu over the Himalayas and into India. OMG this is going to be beyond spectacular and it will be the highest altitude I will have ever been. We will have to be extra careful of altitude sickness, we will have experienced guides, so I will follow their advice and do as they say. Last trek I did, I went to 4773m at Kyanjin RI. Breathing was getting difficult then and we climbed very slowly, resting every few minutes. But at least next year I will not be on foot. Excitement PLUS!!

@panishklo Marson Being such a rainy day here, I toyed with the idea of cleaning our my shoe cupboard (a new pair of boots arrived in the mail) and my wardrobes. I opened the door to one wardrobe, looked inside, moved a few things along the rack checking out what I had and closed the door LOL Nope that's not going to happen today LOL

  • @panishklo Marson, glad the snow melted and there will still be some warm days. How cool that thrift store includes plants -- and so glad the palm fit in your house.

  • I think everyone is over on Facebook.

Marson @panishklo OMG those Aurora Borealis would be amazing to see.

Well it's still raining here. Seems like it will never ever end. It's been raining since Summer. We had a very wet Summer. It rained just about all through winter too and now we are into Spring and it's still raining. I developed a leak in my loungeroom a couple of months ago. Had a hell of a time getting someone to come out to look at it. Finally someone came, they fixed it, so we thought but its started leaking again. This morning, He came, in the rain and fixed it again (so we thought) and not 2 minutes after him leaving, the roof is still leaking. He says he will come back this afternoon and have another look. Very depressing and that "drip drip drip" noise through the night is starting to mess with my mind LOL I can see why they used it as a form of torture

  • @panishklo Marson, so very sad to hear this, sending gentle {{hugs}}, condolences, and wishes for strength for you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Marson @panishklo my sincere and deepest condolences. I hope you can dig deep within to find the strength to get through this. Sending you lot and lots of ((((hugs)))))

  • Marson @panishklo
Bite the corner off your Tim Tam.
Turn the Tim Tam and bite the diagonally opposite corner off.
Hold the Tim Tam like a straw and dip the end in your drink.
Suck your drink through the Tim Tam until some of your tasty beverage is in your mouth.
Carefully but quickly eat your biscuit.

  • Marson @panishklo I am glad you found the dark chocolate Tim Tams. Have you ever tried drinking your coffee through one?

  • Good afternoon I think today may be the hottest we have had this summer 34°C atm. There was a time when I thought this was extremely hot but given the past few years of the most brutal summers, with temps over 40°C, some days 45-47 day after day, it now seems mild to me.

Marson @panishklo Tim Tams do a dark chocolate one, they are good. I usually get the original Tim Tam when I buy them but every now and then I will try one of the newer range. I was feeling in a caramel mood. I love caramel.
I hope your son and his GF are ok and not too stiff and sore from their misadventure
Shelly @shellyrae37 I think we are just starting to get our summer now

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 they were on special for $2 a packet and I just couldn't resist 😆 These are Chewy Caramel. Ever since Marson @panishklo mentioned them I have been craving for Tim Tams

  • @panishklo Marson, lucky you finding Tim Tams! Down here in the US, they only have them during the winter and only in a few stores. I used to get them at Target -- but I haven't been to one in ages, so I don't know if they still carry them.

We wound up with just a slight glaze of ice -- trees looked very pretty in the sun this morning -- which didn't cause any power problems. But my car was glazed over and I had a 10:30AM Yoga class. Went out and turned on the car and rear window defroster and front defrost and started chipping. Luckily the driver's side of the car was facing south and the sun was warm enough that the ice on that side had started to soften so I was able to get the door open to do all that. Made it to class on time -- yay!

  • Good afternoon. We are still getting mild temps and plenty of rain with the sun shining in between the down pours. Yep the grass is growing right before your eyes LOL

Marson @panishklo yum yum ..Tim Tams. I was craving them a couple of days ago and came very close to giving in and going around to the shop to buy some. Its been awhile since I have indulged. They are my favourite biscuits buy once the packet is opened I have to eat them all.

  • @panishklo Marson, yesterday (Saturday) was our one sunny day, it's cloudy again today. But I'm not complaining too much because we didn't get any of the freezing rain that was a possibility. So I made it safely to my yoga class and back home. Tuesday the polar vortex is supposed to hit and it will be frigid.

  • @panishklo Marson, that is WONDERFUL!!! Happy New Year!!!! (Actually, my cat Charley loves the pandemic -- he loves to have me around.)

Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, & peaceful 2022!!!!!

  • We had the most spectacular sunrise this morning on my way to bootcamp. Today we trained in the park on the workout equipment the council has put in. Came home and mowed the lawn. That will do me for the day lol. It has come over very stormy looking now and the wind is picking up. It is Suppose to get really bad as the day progresses
@panishklo Marson I hope you're feeling much better by now. Headaches are the worst. I can handle pain pretty well but not headaches and especially migraine ones. They are so debilitating. Gentle (((((hugs)))))

  • @panishklo Marson, {{hugs}} and Happy Birthday to you!!

    @songbreeze Gail, Happy Birthday!!!

    @wattleihavenext Julie, {{hugs}} to you!!!

  • Marson @panishklo
How are you coping with the heat? I read Canada is experiencing record high temps.I hope you are staying cool

  • @panishklo Marson, one of the nice things about wearing masks is that it actually keeps my face (my mouth and nose) warn when I go for my walks on chilly days. Of course I then have to deal with my fogged up sunglasses and what to do when my nose starts running. :~) I just bought a new mask that is a quilted material, it has elastic to go over my ears, but it than goes around my ears and fastens with velcro behind my head, so it functions as both a face mask and ear warmers. Saving it for a very cold day. (The company that makes it is Rafi Nova.)

  • Merry Christmas to all celebrating! Up until yesterday morning it would have been somewhat of a white Christmas here in NJ but after last night's heavy rain, there is no snow anywhere.

@panishklo Marson, beautiful words -- indeed wishing peace and joy to everyone!!

  • Marson @panishklo and Gail @songbreeze -- wishing you both very, very Happy Birthdays!!!!!

  • Good afternoon. I have arrived back home from my volunteering to help the farmers . What an amazing experience! It was hard work(carrying bundles of star pickets up and down hills, some hills were at 45 degrees and hard going, lifting heavy rolls of barbed wire out of the trailers, laying the barbed wire and twitching it to the pickets etc etc) but so very satisfying. We achieved a lot in the 5 days I was there. I am very proud of the new skills I have learnt and I do plan on going back to help some more

    I see I missed Marson @panishklo Shelly @shellyrae37 Susan @whodat111 and Reen @reen while I was away
I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your DH Reen, ((((((HUGS)))))

  • @panishklo Marson -- I'm here!! The days just seem to spin by -- it feels as if Saturday was just a few moments ago and here it is again. We're have a nice fall day as well -- no humidity, little bit of breeze, and sunny. I need to outside and fill my bird feeders. Between the squirrels, the deer (who slurp the seed out of the tube feeders with their tongues), and the ground hogs who come on the porch and try to push the rock off the can that holds the bird seed, it's almost impossible to keep the feeders full.

  • Good afternoon
Marson @panishklo it is cold and wet down here and I can hear someone hooning around in the streets.I am just waiting to hear the BANG. and then the sirens. Why anyone would think it a good idea to be screeching around suburbia in the wet wold be a good idea is beyond me.
Such a shame we have so many MIA Glassies and those that have passed away. Facebook seems to be the place everyone has migrated to, joining the many glass Groups available there.Toby's Group is called Vintage Glass and Fran has a Group called Depression & Elegant Glass Identification plus there are many more.

  • Good Morning. It is overcast here. I've had my usual morning,Video hook up session with my trainer and then a walk/jog down along the riverbank path, up through the mall, a stop off for a coffee on the go (only way my favouirite cafe can do it now) and now home for some breakfast.

George @george (((((hugs)))))) I know it must have been a hard decision to make. But the right one. I am thinking when the times comes for me, I will be a stubborn old bugger and refuse to admit I should not be driving ( I get that trait from my Father lol) My poor DD and probably the Grandkids having to deal with that.

Hi Marson @panishklo I am hoping that is the case. I am pleased with the progress so far. I am trying to convince myself it will be strong enough now for me to mow the lawn. But I do know it is not strong enough to use a whipper snipper just yet.

  • Good Morning it is still raining and of course, typically Australia, there are lots of flooding happening. Everyone is rejoicing in the fact their dams and water tanks are getting filled and gardens are coming back to life. Some fires have been extinguished too. It gives us all hope.

Marson @panishklo first attempt we decided the issue was adding the slated caramel toffee to the cookie dough. When ut in the oven it just melts again and caused the issue. so this time we didn't add the toffee, The plan was to put on top when the cookies were almost cooked. I am now thinking of not adding the part of the melted butter and also changing the flour to self raising flour. We used a no frills brand of plain flour.

  • Good Morning. We actually got some real rain this morning. I could hear it, I could smell it and I could see it. BUT it didn't last very long at all, about 1 minute.
Marson @panishklo Thank you for the firefighters. Ours are at breaking point, totally exhausted.

I am all organised for Xmas, I think.I'll be going out to DD's today in my campervan and coming home boxing day.

    Merry Christmas!.

  • Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Marson @panishklo and to Gail Mac @gailmacphee!!!

@shellyrae37 Shelly, glad you were able to stop by!!

Drizzly this morning in NJ. Already had a full morning -- Yoga class at 7:45AM and then raced home to get DH to his CRT (cognitive rehab therapy) session. No session on Thursday as his therapist will be with her little one for Halloween.

  • Good Morning It's a beautiful clear sunny morning here. I skipped my training session this morning. I decided yesterday that today would be my day of rest for me. I am glad I decided to do that because I had a terrible nights sleep and I think I am at the beginning of hayfever season for me. I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a headache.

Marson @panishklo I have been procrastinating for at least 2 years now (maybe even longer) about having a Garage sale. I wonder if I will ever get my act together LOL

  • Good Evening.
It is school holidays down here so I have been busy with the Grandkids. Movies, train rides, tram rides , walks and the beach. The weather has been perfect.

Jim @dorbitz Congratulations on your weight loss and it sounds like you are doing it the correct way. No fad dieting that can not be sustained. Eat well and eat right is the way to go.

Hello back to you Marson @panishklo I wish we could have some of that rain. The drought down here is taking its toll on so many communities.

  • Good Morning, This horrid wind continues down here and is suppose to get worse today before it starts to ease by tomorrow.

George @george I hope your eyes feeling OK after the shots. I have a friend that has started getting them

Jim @dorbitz You know what they say about "All work and no Play?"

Nancy @jerseystar27 Now that is something I love, avocado and smoked salmon, together. YUM

Marson @panishklo I hope you are keeping well. I have no doubt that the family will not let the 84 year old go picking blueberries next year.

Katie @fyrqueen I don't blame you. With that unthankful attitude, I would make sure I was not be available ever again.

  • @panishklo Marson, I've heard about Canadian bagels and how they differ from those from the NYC area. It was possible to eat the waffles and the lox separately, for those who didn't like the combo. (I understand my son made himself avocado toast with a side of lox the morning before.)

@wattleihavenext Julie, the mug is cute, but doesn't apply this week as it's vacation (and actually Friday is when we have to head home!)

At Yoga class this morning, I heard that it was possibly a water spout that hit our area Monday afternoon. From 19th to 25th street there was wind damage -- and we're in the middle between 21st & 22nd. One of the houses 3 down from us had their deck furniture blown into their neighbors yards. We did see that the lifeguard chairs down at the beach were blown over and two were smashed to pieces.

  • @wattleihavenext @panishklo Julie & Marson, thank you!!! It's been a fun day!

  • Good Morning. It is a little overcast today with showers predicted. Rain would be good. A good part of our country is still in the worst drought with water levels very low. Some towns have no water and are trucking it in
Nancy @jerseystar27 sounds like you have your retirement all worked out. You will enjoy having that time for yourself to do what is good for you. Looking forward to the time you and DH can come visit Aus.
Hi Marson @panishklo 🙂 enjoy your weiner roast ( I'm off to Google now what a weiner roast is LOL)
    Julie

  • Good Morning. another beautiful morning here. A little coolish earlier and I was loving it. Perfect for bootcamp and a park run.

Marson @panishklo LOL Yep the cakes turn out really well LOL I am clever like that LOL...... BTW you should see the ones I really do...not so pretty lol I think I could wear the badge of World's Worst Cake Maker LOL I am that bad it has been many many years since I have done one

  • Good afternoon. today was a little cooler than it has been. Another storm came through late yesterday and eased the humidity and heat a tad. It's school Holidays here so I have been busy with the Grandkids
Jim @dorbitz LOL I am glad I was not the only one re Xmas LOL I do my grocery shop on Tuesdays This Tuesday I bought some food items for Xmas day and thought to myself that I'd get the rest of the Xmas day food on my next grocery shop. Came home and realised that there was not a next grocery shop because Xmas was the following Tuesday LOL WOW it has really snuck up on us
    BTW nice Jug
Shelly @shellyrae37 It's lovely to see you come by for a catchup. Yes the grandkids are growing up so fast. I read their school reports today and I must say I am a very proud
Grandma. They are both doing very well in school.
Sorry to hear your son has so much pain.
Marson@panishklo take care waddling on those slippery paths

  • Jim @dorbitz the ride was amazing. Wished my phone camera showed the true aqua colour of the ocean. So so very pretty and our sand is white. It truly is a gorgeous part of the world.

Marson @panishklo yes we must enjoy our lives without them. It is hard sometimes but I do have a very good loving circle of friends and family always surrounding me.

Nancy @jerseystar27 yes it is hard to believe it has been 10 years

  • @shellyrae37 Shelly, Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a great day.

    @wattleihavenext Julie, {{hugs}} I can't believe it's 10 years.

@panishklo Marson, {{hugs}} to you too.

    @dorbitz & @carma JimL and Carl -- glad you're both feeling & walking better!

@george George, glad the shots are helping your eyes.

We've been back & forth to DD's in Virginia a few times in the past month. DH had two different conferences down in DC -- I went down for part of each. Besides DD, DH's sister & BIL live down there as well as their daughter, SIL, and two grandkids. And my brother's son & his fiancee are also down there, so we have lots of people to visit.

  • I didn't mean to neglect Marson's birthday. I only had a heads up about Gails birthday because of Facebook and us being a day ahead.

    Marson @panishklo

  • @songbreeze HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Gail!!

    @panishklo HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Marson!!

Wishing you both a wonderful day!!!!

  • Good Morning . Temps are rising so it was not so cold at training this morning. Fridays is stairs day and some mornings running up and over the railway bridge can get bitterly cold. Makes it hard to breath.

Marson@panishklo your bowl sound lovely. Have you got any pics to share with us?
As for our fundraiser we are confident we will beat last years amount we raised. So far we have 20 tables (of 10 ppl per table ) booked in for our trivia night, so there's $4,000. PLus there will be others just arriving without booking a table . Some of my best friends run a Trivia business and they are donating their time to run our trivia. Other friends are band members that are well known and like around our region. They are donating their time to entertain. We have managed to get many local businesses on board with prize donations. One being a helicopter ride for 2 along our magnificent coast. We will have raffles, lucky door prizes and other games that will also be run as another part of the fundraiser on the night. It should be a fun night. We also raise money from ppl making donations for us relayers and our team.We had a Pop Up shop several months ago as another part of our team to raise $$,. We sold Relay for Life merchandise at the big shopping Centre here.

    Julie

  • Good afternoon. Horribly windy here. I am not liking it one bit.

Marson @panishklo i am not a lover of hot weather either. Especially my summers. They are usually hot and humid, it really does me in LOL. I can handle most of our winter down here, but not when it's windy. That wind just blows right through you and freezes your bones . Spring and Autumn is my kinda weather

  • Good afternoon. Temps are slowing creeping up. Nowhere near as cold this morning as it has been and today has been beautifully warm and sunny.
Marson @panishklo same is happening where my DD lives, with our native wildlife. I am seeing more and more kangaroos in suburbia, around ppls homes. Behind my DD was all bushland but they have started a new subdivision, so the Roos have to go somewhere to graze. And the drought isn't helping things much, either.

  • Good afternoon. It was another cccccold start to the day this morning. brrrrrr And I was very slow moving at boot camp this morning. I think all my joints were frozen together and just wouldn't defrost LOL
George @george yes brown is beautiful LOL Living here in Aus, we get used to that colour grass. Seems always we are in a drought.Or we go to the other extreme and we are in flood. Summer just gone, I think it was the worst I'd seen my grass in years. Not a green patch to be seen anywhere. Only good thing about that , I didn't have to mow as many times during our God awful hot summer where the temps exceeded 100F, regularly.
Jim @dorbitz yep the humidity can be a killer. I am the same here in summer. All that humidity just saps every ounce of energy out of me
Carl @carma and Marson @panishklo I hope you get some rain soon to give you some relief.

  • @panishklo Marson, we're having similar weather in NJ. It's hot & sunny today and the humidity is creeping up. And even though I watered my plants yesterday afternoon, many of the pots are looking dry again. We may get some showers late tonight -- I hope so!!

  • Good Morning. It's a chilly, overcast, damp, dull morning. It was dark and cold going to training this morning and still dark when I arrived home. It is now 10.30 a.m and still no sun. Looks like a perfect day for staying indoors in front of the heater. But that is going to make it hard to get motivated this afternoon to head back to training.
Jim @dorbitz Yes I had a great day, thanks.
Marson @panishklo Can you believe it !? It's probably been over a year or more since I have had any Tim Tams.I skip that isle , now, when doing the grocery shopping. LOL

  • Good Morning a little chilly here @ 7C (45F) but promising to be another gorgeous sunny Autumn day.
I will be heading out soon to watch grandson play Rugby Union. The little ones are so fun to watch LOL After I am going to try my first Bikram Yoga Class aka Hot Yoga.It is suppose to be really good your you...we will see LOL

Marson @panishklo I thought I would have trouble getting a birthday cake for Toadboy but I did find this one .
I am not a fan of the heat either, so I ask myself, "Why am I doing Bikram Yoga today in a room that is set at 40 celsius (104F)LOL"
    Julie

  • Good Morning
Marson @panishklo ditto ..seeing an eagle in flight is better

  • @wattleihavenext Julie, that is beautiful!! (the glass too!) How wonderful that your uncle was able to restore it.

@panishklo Marson, glad to hear things are starting to melt. I have to start walking again -- I had more excuses this winter, too dark, too cold, too icy. Now that it's light longer and the weather is pleasant, my neighbor and I will start walking regularly again.

  • @panishklo Marson -- the temperature was in the low 50s today and DH did go kayaking. He has a drysuit because the water is cold. This is his first paddle in NJ in 2018 -- with all of the cold spells, there was just too much ice to get near the water. He did get to kayak a couple of weeks ago when he visited friends in Florida.

  • @panishklo & @wattleihavenext Marson & Julie -- thank you for the 1/2 birthday greetings!! If we're celebrating in person, we sometimes do as Julie did and have half of a cake. I've been known to send my kids birthday cards cut in half or now a text message with every other letter. It mainly started with our daughter -- her birthday is the beginning of August (her half-birthday is Ground Hog Day) so she couldn't have a celebration in school. We arranged to send in cupcakes on her half-birthday so she could celebrate in school. Then our son's half-birthday often winds up on Thanksgiving, so it gives us something extra to celebrate then.

  • Thanks for the condolences.Christine was younger than me. We grew up together, lived in the same street and were best friends,as I am with most of my cousin because we all grew up in the same neighbourhood and a lot of us still hang out together. Just last night I had a night out with 4 of my cousins and their partners. We are a very close family.

The heat continues down here. But it is Australia and it is summer so that's just how it is. lol

Marson @panishklo I hope you enjoyed the concert

  • Good Morning. It is starting to warm up outside 28 Celsius at 11.30 a.m and suppose to reach a top of 35. That seems OK now after those horrid 40 plus temps we had.

Marson @panishklo take things easy, don't go over doing things

  • @panishklo Marson, sorry to hear you had the flu, don't overdue it.

It was in the 30s today. Next few days are supposed to be in the 40s & 50s with rain on Tuesday. Of course, that's the day I go back to teach and one of my classes is in a building far from the parking lot. I bought a new umbrella yesterday, just to be prepared.

  • Our perfect weather has continued on for today. Great for being outdoors. I did a bootcamp class down on the river bank this morning. I also washed both my vehicles. Now for some food and R & R before I head out again later this arvo to bootcamp again.
George @george eye shots do not sound very pleasant
Marson @panishklo LOL I am very clever in cyber world, not such a good cake maker/decorator in real life though LOL
Katie @fyrqueen I am glad that Mike is doing fabulously

  • Marson @panishklo it hasn't been the best year 🙁 I have/had the most adorable Uncles and Aunties But Aunty Em was my all time favourite, as she was with everyone else in the family.

  • @panishklo Marson, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Wishing you a wonderful day.

  • Happy Birthday @panishklo

I baked a Tim Tam Cake for you.

😳 😳 Sorry about the big bite out of it. I just couldn't resist 😳 😳 LOL

  • Good Morning, sunny and humid here. We did get a heavy downfall late yesterday afternoon but it only lasted a few minutes. More is suppose to be on it's way
George @george yep it is and very emotionally draining. But we have to get on with life.
Marson @panishklo Thanks, Tim Tams always help

    Julie

  • Good morning everyone. Today I have a full complete day all to myself. No boot camp and no babysitting. I had a nice little sleep in and now I plan to mow the yard. Seems like forever since I have done it. What with the heat and no rain and me holidaying too much lol Along with the "I can't be bothered attitude" LOL Last time it was done it was by a professional. Now its time for a tidy up.

Reen @reen sorry to hear about your Dh, I am sending strong postive thoughts your way and big ((((HUGS))))

~~waving~~~ to Marson @panishklo always lovely to see you pop by

    Julie
still having issues with my internet and phone dropping in and out.

  • Good Morning. Looks like it will be a nice day. Sun is shining and the horrid wind we had yesterday has gone.
HI Marson @panishklo I loved every minute of my trip "business" and pleasure 😀
Jim @dorbitz It wasn't an easy trek I can tell you. 2,000 metres LOL. 3 out of 10 in my group gave up and stopped at a shelter
about half way up. One of them a 15 year old and another 23 yr old.

George @george yes there were a lot of phone cameras. Some one had one of those helicopter video thingies flying around. I would love to see that video.

  • Good Morning.Chilly here this morning but the sun is shining and the sky is clear, so it will be a lovely day. I been a way to the country for a few days with a group of friends and had a great time.
Toadboy @fracnjan Hi back to you and Fran. So sorry to hear you had to put your furbaby to sleep.Always hard 🙁
Carl @carma Happy Anniversary The meals sounded delicious BTW I think I might come over there to eat LOL $88 sounds so cheap for 2 ppl. I paid $30 for just one main meal ( no entree, no dessert and no drinks included in that) And this was at a country Pub, not an upmarket resatuarant where you would pay so much more.
Marson @panishklo My calf is healing really well.I'd say its about 95% healed. I trained yesterday arvo and this morning and managed to do some running. But I Had to stop at the hills and walk up though, I could feel the muscle pulling. I don't want to re tear it and have to start all over again with the healing process.
Reen @reen sending you and Dh positive thoughts and big ((((hugs)))))

    Sara @lilac1987 HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    Julie

  • Good Morning. temps are starting to drop here. It looks rather bleak outside. ANZAC day the weather was perfect, actually it was hot standing in the sun. I had to move to the shaded area. They had a good crowd for the march and service. I was very proud of my Grandchildren, they did the march and were very well behaved during the service.

I am having issues with my router, connection is very slow and I had no internet access at all for a couple of days. This morning I removed the connection from my desktop computer which is also on its last leg and plugged into the laptop I am using. At least it is working but very very sloooooooooooooow. Technology!!!!!! grrrrrr!! fantastic while it's working OK but very frustrating when it's not LOL. Amazing how our lives have become so reliant on it .Marson @panishklo pass the chocolate please LOL

  • Good Morning. Another picture perfect warm, sunny, clear blue skies, Autumn morning.
raoflmaopmp @ Carl @carma re the road runner LOL I loved that show
Here is the website for the Speaking Coffee Machine I posted this morning
    http://www.droog.com/news/2013/07/

Marson @panishklo Thanks . When I was posting the Birthday cake for Liz, I thought she had passed away, But I wasn't sure I was remembering correctly so didn't want to say anything, just in case I was wrong.

  • Good evening everyone. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather than what we received today.
Jim @dorbitz the weather is crazy here too. All that heatwave through out Australia and 2 days ago one of the regions south of me got snow!!! Now that is way too early for snow in the regions that get it. WEIRD!!!
Marson @panishklo I would never have thought of steaming my asparagus in one of those LOL
    Julie

  • G'day everyone. I had a fabulous weekend away. Very very hot. And our rooms at the pub were not air conditioned. Out at the Rally site it was also extremely hot but later in the afternoon we got a lovely storm and it cooled things down. We were literally dancing in the rain LOL

Shelly @shellyrae37 I am glad you are enjoying the tea sets
No my sister did not have her last chemo, she had her last radiation treatment and they can never do any more to her spine again or she will end up paralysed. The radiation is to help with the excruciating pain she has in her back/spine/hips where the cancer has spread. She can barely move the pain is that bad.Very sad to see.She commences another course of chemo tomorrow. That will continue right up till April.

Carl @carma glad your DW procedure went well

Marson @panishklo sorry to read you had been unwell.I hope you are continuing to improve and are now feeling 100%

  • Good Morning everyone. overcast here and our temps have dropped. The sticky humidity has eased off too , making it a very pleasant morning.
Marson @panishklo I hope you find someone to help with the snow removal

  • @songbreeze Happy Birthday, Gail!!!

    @panishklo Happy Birthday, Marson!!

  • Good afternoon to you all. Its been a DDG warm sunny winters day.
Marson @panishklo nice to see you and thanks for the hugs

Nancy @jerseystar27 I hope your Mum makes a good recovery

Reen @reen try not to do anything too stupid and stay well

  • It's raining! We had rain Thursday late night into Friday morning. And then last afternoon today it started to rain -- a little thunder but then just nice soaking rain. My garden (or at least what's left after the deer dined) is very happy.

@panishklo Marson, I have to admit I haven't been out kayaking yet this season, although DH has been paddling constantly. I've been doing Yoga classes 3 or 4 times per week. I will get out soon, I hope, but definitely when we're on vacation down at the shore.

We're actually dealing with a family crisis. My mom, who turned 91 last Saturday, tripped on fell last Sunday. She broke her hip (top of the femur by the hip joint). Late yesterday afternoon she was transferred to a rehab facility. She's very happy there, so far, did two PT sessions today. My sister and I (with support from DH's, etc.) are taking turns taking our dad to be with mom, first at the hospital and now at rehab.

  • Good Morning, chilly here and it is starting to get a bit windy and overcast. I've Been to early morning bootcamp session and then onto the swimming pool to watch my grandchildren at their swimming lessons. I must say my grand daughter at the age of 5 has a beautiful swimming style. She really smashes it and stands out from the others in her class. Grandson is pretty good too, he is like a fish, always has been from the first time he hit the water, as a baby.
Marson @panishklo It only seems like yesterday you were shoveling snow
Gail @songbreeze The sports carnival was good. Miss P's first so she was a little bewildered at it all, not knowing exactly what to expect. I did post 2 pics on FB
    BTW lovely pics
Don @donscns glad you are enjoying yourself and the weather is good
Katie @fyrqueen Glad your tests are showing no signs of ehrlichiosis

  • Good Morning everyone
Marson @panishklo It's not so warm here now, We have been having some strong westerly winds these past few days and that is bringing in the cold.Nice sunny days though, just the wind is not so nice. Cold ( not freezing) mornings and evenings. Winter is just around the corner. I just read that areas in Queensland were below 0 Celsius. Makes me wonder what's going on. Queensland is a destination for a lot us Southerners for winter because its warmer. Though last Winter when I was there in July , the first 2 weeks were absolutely freezing. Took a lot of locals by surprise too, they were not used to such weather.

Reen @reen Positive thoughts all will go well.
    Julie

  • It turned out a lovely day after all, so I got some pruning done that I had planned to do yesterday. But Mother Nature didn't let me, It poured rain all day.
Shelly @shellyrae37 yes looks like it is a good thing you didn't take those weeds home.
Marson @panishklo simple pleasures are always the best, especially with friends. I hope you don't have any issues with the mozzie bites. (((((HUGS))))) to you
    Julie

  • @shellyrae37
You're right about Prilosec.... I only take it 2 wks at a time and the last time I had to take it was 18 months ago. As we know, the best treatment is lifestyle changes. (yawn!) I found that I was snacking just before bed which is lethal.... now I force myself to sit up for an hour after the last morsel!

    @panishklo
Til you meet up with Mom again, may she rest in peace and may you see her smile in your heart at least once a day.

    Glassies,
Why on God's green earth is it too cold for a walk on May the freaking first!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    Janice

  • @panishklo Marson, sending {{hugs}}, I'm glad your mom was able to see some spring flowers and be at home with her loved ones. Wishing you all well.

@glassusa Bob, yikes -- that is just too bizarre! I thought you were going to say that they said they were china or something but that glassware is only something you drink out of!

@reen Reen, sending good thoughts for your surgery, hoping it goes well and that you heal quickly.

@wattleihavenext Julie, glad you're not out in the rain!

Still cool here for almost May -- we're supposed to get a day of rain tomorrow which is fine, the gardens need it.

  • Good Morning everyone What a glorious morning!!! I think Autumn has finally arrived. We had a nice little chill to air early this morning when I went to training and now the sun is shining. Not a hot melting sun but a nice warming sun.Perfect
Marson @panishklo you be careful waddling about

  • Marson @panishklo those are crumpets. Been a long while since I have had any

  • Good Morning everyone. Sun is shining down here. Skipped boot camp this morning. I will be having my own session working in my very neglected yard. Grass is extremely long and very thick It is going to take a lot of energy and muscle power pushing the mower through it all. And it's going to be hot and muggy.

Marson @panishklo That is scones, jam and cream. We call it a "Devonshire Tea" Very traditionally Aussie 🙂 But maybe not so much these days. Once Upon a time every Cafe had Devonshire Tea (pot of tea with scones jam and cream) on the menu. Once Upon a Time that was maybe the only choice you had in some Cafes LOL Aussies were traditionally tea drinkers. Growing up I didn't know many that drank coffee. My father frowned upon anyone drinking coffee. It was no good for you LOL But you could drink as many cups of tea as you wanted LOL
    Julie

  • Good afternoon everyone. Weather is just perfect today. Sun's shining and temps are just right.

I see I have confused some with me posting Fenton's pic LOL Sorry about that. I didn't give it a thought that you would think I meant it was made by Fenton Glass Co.
    Marson @panishklo stay warm.

  • Marson @panishklo your Xmas sounds similar to mine in a way. Spent with family and there was plenty of very decadent things to eat, along with a balance of healthy. There was so much food!! and all delicious. I had to try everything LOL
    Julie

  • @dorbitz Didn't mean to slight JimL, he posted while I was posting -- thank you for the lovely Menorah.

@panishklo Eek, snow? We've been having the oddest "winter" -- although it has gotten cold overnight (Sunday morning I did have to scrape frost off the windshield), it's been warm during the day. Today it's up to 57 and sunny.

@george Thank you for the Chanukah wishes, George. How's the furkid?

  • @panishklo Marson -- I hope you had a very Happy Birhday, sorry this is late!!!!

Very soggy here in NJ -- our reservoirs need it, so I'm happy.

  • Marson @panishklo SO sorry I missed it was your birthday. Here is a cake all for you. <3 <3

  • Good morning! DH and I are off on an adventure -- we're in Israel. We arrived Thursday and have been seeing sights in Tel Aviv and relaxing (we spent yesterday afternoon at the beach). This afternoon the group from our synagogue arrives. We'll be on a tour until next Sunday, seeing many part of Israel I've never seen, winding up in Jerusalem.

@wattleihavenext Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. Sending gentle {{hugs}} and prayers to all.

@panishklo Marson, hi to you!! Glad the weather is nice.

It was sad to read about Betty/sjell, she was a wonderful lady. Although we never managed to get together the time I was visiting Florida, we at least spoke on the phone.

  • Good afternoon everyone. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I have been having a fun time with the celebrations. Firstly my party on Saturday night. On Monday morning after my swim there was a party at the cafe we all go to for our coffee afterwards at 6a.m One of the ladies baked me a lovely birthday cake, supplied some finger food, party hats and balloons. What a great way to start the day of your birthday. Had DD and grandkids around for morning tea and lunch and spent some time with them. Monday night after bootcamp another small celebration with the women I train with and another birthday cake LOL That's 3 birthday cakes all up LOL Home from bootcamp and had dinner with next door neighbours.

Reen @reen I am so sorry no one turned up for your open house. You must have been very disappointed ((((hugs))))
Gail @songbreeze I hope you are doing well.
Jim @dorbitz LOL we are a day ahead, so it was yesterday here , today there LOL or probably by now its yesterday there LOL
LOL Marson @panishklo I was a "little delicate" on Sunday after my party. It was after 3a.m before I went to bed, after the last guest left LOL
Irene @jmart8248 I had a variety of snack food for my guests. Different cheese platters, pates, different types of olives, crackers, potato chips, pretzels, several different dips etc.

  • Good Morning everyone Very foggy and chil;ly early this morning but now that has lifted the sun is shining and we are in for a gorgeous warm sunny winters day. The weather Gods have been looking over me I think.
I am having a break from setting up for my party. Just waiting on DD and SIL to get here with their gazebo and the hay bales and I can continue on with getting it all organised and ready for my guests tonight.
Thanks Marson @panishklo I am hoping it is going to be a fun night. It's going to be a chilly one LOL I might have to give everyone shots of rum LOL so they can keep warm.
Carl @carma congrats on your weight loss and DR's report
