• Good Morning to those that pop in here.
It is Perfect Autumn weather here today but that can't be said for a couple of days ago. Heavy rainfalls, dumping excessive rain and causing lots of issues .
Shelly @shellyrae37 I haven't heard anything about Jim passing away. Very sad if that is true.
Yes I do have a few trips planned for this year. In May I am heading off on a road trip, with no particular plans. I will be making it up as I go and I have no real time frame. But it will most likely be 2-3 weeks on the road travelling from town to town. I will have a friend, in her van, travelling with me for the first week and then after that I will be travelling solo. Also later in the year I will go back and volunteer at a BlaizeAid camp for a couple of weeks, helping farmers devastated by Natural Disasters, repairing and rebuilding their fences and whatever else is needed. At this stage I am not sure exactly where that will be. It will depend on Mother Nature and where we are needed
Carl @carma I'd say that Jenny has been a very good investment for you.
Nancy @jerseystar27 I heard about the earthquake on the radio and I immediately thought of you.

I see it is beautiful Betty's heavenly birthday. I still have the lovely Fenton basket she sent me when my DH was very ill. She was such a lovely lady

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 that is so lovely that you got to meet George and you also have a piece of glass to always remember him by. He was such a wonderful man. I have a lovely Fenton basket to remember Betty, that she sent to me to cheer me up when Gordon was not well. And I have the lovely Candlewick heart dish from Fran she gave me on my visit over there, for the Glassie Get together. I will always treasure them.

  • Good Morning. Our weather has been brutal and I am not liking it. High 30 Celsius and over 40C days , day after day. Hot hot westly winds to make it feel like a fan forced oven. Bush fires with people loosing homes and lives have already commenced. I have taken the plunge and I have ordered an aircon, hoping it is here vey soon. My fans are just circulating hot air.
Katie @fyrqueen I am sorry to hear about your friends but happy to hear that Mike is doing well. And ditto to what Nancy @jerseystar27 said.... Remember that self-care is not a luxury, it's a necessity!!
Carl @carma right at this moment (35 celsius at 10 a.m) that snow is sounding so good to me.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 Weather report is saying a cool change is on its way and a slight chance of some rain. Rain would be great to clean the air and settle the dust.

  • Good afternoon. Our weather is perfect here atm. 79F But this weekend coming they are predicting it to get up over 90F . A bit too hot too soon, I think . It's only the beginning of our Spring, Well its not even officially Spring but down here we do it by the 1st calendar day of the month. 1st September for Spring. Officially we are still in Winter.
Carl @carma I hope you don't get hit too hard with the storm. Fingers crossed by the time it gets near you it has run out of puff. Things in our gardens down here are not the same either. For a start we are lacking the presence of bees. My clover patch I leave for the bees is usually buzzing by now. But not a bee to be seen. There were just a few in the Grevillea But not like it should be with each flower covered in them. I live in what I would call the "cockroach capital" I don't see any of them like I use to, either. Everything seems to be amiss. At least I have lots of birds in my trees BUT that is only because progress is knocking down all the surrounding bushland and building new estates , made of bricks and concrete . Very little yards, no trees, Roof top to roof top of houses and fences. Our lush farmland is being turned into housing estates too. All the dairy farms are gone. We don't have the produce farms like we use to either but lucky for us there's still some battling along and supplying us with local fresh vegs.
Nancy @jerseystar27 The Taj Mahal was jaw dropping gorgeous. It's hard to imagine all that work and all that marble was all done by hand. To see it up close and see just how much detail has gone into it is mind blowing.

  • Good Morning, dark, gloomy and raining here and thunderstorms predicted. Hopefully that will ease the humidity.

Shelly @shellyrae37 I had a lovely few days away camping by the river. It was hot but I had a nice shady tree to sit under and a river to swim in to cool down. The camp ground was very well kept by the managers, truly a beautiful spot and they don't pack everyone in on top of each other. We had lots of room and were well away from everyone. And the beauty of it , it was only 30 minutes drive from home. We thought there was a total fire ban so we didn't take any wood for a camp fire.
Katie @fyrqueen glad you and Mike are over covid
Marson @panishklo enjoy your exercise time. I did my gym workout this morning at 6 a.m
Nancy @jerseystar27 Looks like we may be getting our summer back at the end of the week. Crazy weather
Carl @carma I hope by now you are all dug out and no more snow for you

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 yes lots of exercise when fencing. The last property we worked on was down a steep track. A very good cardio session climbing back up it 😆
I will have to look into Spelling Bee. I play Wordle, Quordle and Octordle. I also play Word Blitz with some FB friends via Messenger. Alicia is one of them and she beats me just about every time 😆

After a hot day yesterday a storm came through and cooled things down. Here, in my suburb, we just got the tail end of it. A bit of wind, some rain, very distant thunder and lightening lighting up the horizon. Our annual Show was on this weekend too and its legend to raining every year. The 9 p.m Fireworks were cancelled. You can't have rain, thunder and lightening all happening at the same time.

  • Marson @panishklo the best thing about me baking cakes, is they are never failures, look exactly like they are suppose to look and totally calorie free 😆 😆 😆
Shelly @shellyrae37 it's 30 Celsius here atm. and humid. But at least the breeze that is blowing is pleasant and is helping. It's perfect sitting on my front verandah. But I am sure the young man who is pressure cleaning my driveway is feeing it, working out in the afternoon sun. I hope you can get your frozen pipes sorted to prevent it happening again.
Nancy @jerseystar27 I do my banking and I pay all my bills online too. I am trying to remember the last time I had to actually write a date on anything.

  • Good Morning everyone. It is a gorgeous day so far. A bit fresh this morning but sun was shining and not too hot. Perfect, My Kind of weather.

Shelly @shellyrae37 Your old FB account is active . I was just notified it is your birthday (Aussie time) It is your old account and I was able to wish you a Happy Birthday on it I am not sure if this link will work for you, It's the link to your old account https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1515223738

Nancy @jerseystar27 I am glad you are on the mend. Take care

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 Thanks. The weather is perfect today. Sunny, hot but nice hot (25Celsius) and no wind. Fingers crossed it continues through to the weekend. I spent this morning washing the van and getting it ready, I hope I haven't jinxed myself 😆

  • Jim @dorbitz and Nancy@jerseystar27. It is my home away from home or as I sometimes call it "My Cubby House" 😆 I love it!! and am always chomping at the bit to get away in it.
It also has a very easy to wind out awning, that I can set up a table & chair under and sit back relax and enjoy the view. I have a new collapsible firepit (easy storage when not in use) for sitting around a nice camp fire of an evening ( haven't used this one yet) and I also have another firepit, my cousin made me out of an old gas bottle. I cook on it, outdoors, in my cast iron camp oven, if I don't want to cook inside because the weather is so perfect.

    >center>

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 I have a door that closes, In fact it is a lockable security door and I have a real bed with a real, very comfy mattress, a flushing toilet and a hot shower, a sink with running water

  • The sun is shining today and we actually have some blue sky. Amazing!! BUT OMG that sun is bright and hot after all those wet gloomy days. I'm just not use to it LOL Our weather report says storms are brewing later today.

Nancy @jerseystar27 thanks for the hugs. It's been a tough week, emotionally. Brothers birthday and his memorial and then DHs birthday after that. It drains me so much of my energy. This morning I slept in till 9.40 a.m (Thursdays I have no alarms or gym in the a.m) .Though, we have not long started daylight savings time and my body is still adjusting. But even still 8.40 a.m real time, is a good sleep in for me.

  • Good afternoon. Windy here and we have had no rain for a few days but weather reports say that will be short lived. I am still waiting on the roofer to get back here to have another look and to fix my still leaking roof. Hopefully 3rd time a charm

Nancy@jerseystar27 Yes I remember Jim aka Moose. Happy Heavenly Birthday to him. We have lost quite a few Glassies over the years 🙁 😥 This morning I was looking at some cards Marypat had made for me and sent to me and the Fenton basket Betty had sent me when DH was so ill and I was thinking of all the Glassies, no longer with us. Some I had never met in person but we had a bond, a genuine friendship.
Jim @dorbitz good to see that you will be getting a much deserved break. Enjoy
Katie @fyrqueen congrats to your son on his promotion
Carl @carma your garden sounds amazing.

  • Good Morning. a very chilly morning here but sun is shining and the sky is nice & clear and very blue. There is just a slight breeze blowing but OMG it is a cold icy breeze. I've been to the gym , had coffee at my favourite little coffee shop afterwards and then met up with friends for breakfast at another Cafe. We meet every Tuesday morning.Tonight I go out for dinner and Trivia with some other friends. A fun night and we are doing really well with the amount of money we have won so far. We have approx $150 already since the end of June.We wll continue to let our "Kitty" grow and will have a good Xmas party with it. Before that we had about $630(from January - June) which we spent on a night out for dinner and drinks for the team. Not bad, especially when it costs us nothing to play.

Nancy @jerseystar27 sounds like you are doing all the right things, resting but also keeping a little bit active. I am a big believer in doing exercise while sick. Maybe not as intense as normal but enough to keep you moving and active. I truly believe it really does help with the severity and length. There have been studies down here with Chemo and Radiation patients. Those that joined up for the exercise classes fared much better with less side effects, tiredness and sickness.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 I hope by now you are feeling 100% and with no lingering effects of covid

Winter continues down here, cold frosty mornings and it seems we will never get the ground dry. Rain again this morning. I have never had my driveway so boggy in the 30 plus years I have lived here. It's just a total boggy mess. I tried laying some bricks in the bog. BUT my bricklaying abilities are not the best 😆 It didn't look the best, but at least it gave me some firm ground to be driving on. My neighbour across the road came over this morning and asked if I wanted a trailer load of sand to use. He had purchased it for a small paving job in his back yard and he still had a full trailer load left over. Of course I said YES . We got it All done and it is looking so much better. Had the roofer a couple of weeks ago to fix a leak in my roof and the plumber last week to do all the washers in my taps and to replace my taps in the kitchen too.

  • It is miserable here. Cold and very windy. Not nice at all. We had some really wild weather here last night , lots of places with out power, power lines and trees down etc. Gusts of up 100kph and in some places 120kph. My suburb was spared those kind of damaging winds but it wasn't pleasant and still isn't.

Oh OK Nancy @jerseystar27 I didn't check her listing. I think she gets a little confused at times I thought it was a bowl and later she is saying it is a plate because someone else had told her it was a plate. She is also having problems with the postage. She had it listed and it sold as (I think) BIN but it was showing she was offering free shipping, which she said she didn't want. Anyway, she cancelled the transaction and relisted. Apparently she is still having issues with it showing Free shipping. I don't go near eBay and haven't for a very long time, so I am not sure what's happening there and why.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 thank you
Carl @carma Thank you too .. I am sure it is a bowl.
You sound like you have some busy times ahead with renovations and gardening. I am now off to Google Rutabagas

  • Good afternoon Our beautiful weather continues.
I am exhausted atm. Had a training session at the gym this morning and then came home and tackled my yard. Spent almost 3 hours whipper snipping and mowing. And its just a rough job too. Grass was very long, thick and wet. It was hard work pushing the lawn mower through it. Now I have the paths, driveway and gutter to sweep. But I am just too pooped. I also do my neighbour's (on both sides) front section. In two more days I will do it all again. It should be a lot drier by then and I will tidy all the edges up much better.
Carl @carma great news about Marley and congratulations to Emma for completing her Masters Degree
Nancy @jerseystar27 I haven't had my 4th shot yet but will get it done asap.
Shelly @shellyrae37 that is a bummer about breaking your lovely creamer 🙁

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 It certainly is a mess and it hasn't finished yet.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 they were on special for $2 a packet and I just couldn't resist 😆 These are Chewy Caramel. Ever since Marson @panishklo mentioned them I have been craving for Tim Tams

  • Good Morning.
With the weather we have been having it is really hard to believe it is Summer , Down Under. It's very wet and only 16 Celsius atm with a top of 24C predicted.
Nancy @jerseystar27 and Katie @fyrqueen we have 3 wheelie Bins and I love it. One is for general household waste that goes to land fill. Another for recyclable items and another for garden waste that gets turned into compost.
Shelly @shellyrae37 how are you after your fall? I hope you were not too stiff and sore.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 you have reminded me of a time on the eBay chat boards where we had problems e.g rubbish it..the computers saw sh &.it and would not allow such a word. One that was always such a problem was having a word ending in T and the next word was IT. We had to get creative there for awhile with the wording of our sentences lol

  • Good Morning to you all. It is nice to see a little bit of activity here.

Nancy @jerseystar27 I am glad you made it home safely
Marson @jerseystar27 restrictions here are much the same. 11th Oct venues will be allowed to open but only to those that have been 2 x vaxxed. I am looking forward to seeing my hairdresser, a night out for dinner with my Trivia team on Tuesday and a night out to the pub for drinks and catch-up with friends on Saturday. 1st December when we reach our targeted fully vaccination rate (80%) all restrictions will be lifted.

  • Hi everyone. It's still raining here with intermittent sunshine. OMG the grass is growing so quickly and its too wet to mow.
I have had a lovely morning out with my Grandkids, I am so lucky to be living so close. 5-10 minutes drive away

Nancy @jerseystar27 We had lots of fun last night at 10 Pin Bowling. Plenty of laughs, many gutter balls but also a good share of strikes that we all fluked 😆 I chose one ball at first but my thumb got stick when I bowled , making for a very funny moment with me almost going with it and of course a gutter ball 😆 l I love doing activities with these ladies, they are full of life and fun. And age is no barrier, the group is a mix of young, old and in between. It's all about staying active, enjoying life, stepping outside your comfort zone and having a go at just about anything , with no judgement, only lots of encouragement.

Katie @fyrqueen I hope you feel better soon

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 I am glad you are able to still keep active. Not only is it good for the body but it is good for the mind as well. We are back to almost normal and our gyms are opened (with social distancing rules in place and the number of ppl per square mtre.and all equipment to be sanitized after each of us uses it ) Before that when I was in isolation my gym sessions were done via video link up with my trainer. And like you, my home was not the ideal spot but it was better than nothing. I did take my laptop out in the back yard a couple of times and trained out there. But being winter it was getting dark early. As for the Challenge I enjoy doing it, It keeps me on track and focused. They come at a timely moment too, about the time I am starting to slip in a few too many treats, too often and I'm starting to eat out a little too often and that roll around my middle is starting to get in the way of my sit ups 😆 😆

  • Good Morning. We have been getting some lovely Spring weather doI have started a new Challenge with my trainer. The aim is to stay 100% healthy for 4 weeks. No junk/ unhealthy food, no alcohol and to exercise regularly and stay committed to a healthy lifestyle. I am into my 2nd week and all is going well.I do have some minor issues with my left arm, not being as strong as my right. Thats because of my broken wrist and not being able to use it much while it was mending. BUT it is improving and getting stronger These things take time
~waving~ to Nancy @jerseystar27 seems you have been here all on your own the past few days.It certainly is very quiet here.

  • Good afternoon Happy Yom Kippur to those celebrating.
Nancy @jerseystar27 yes there is always a silver lining to everything. Sometimes we just have to look a little harder.
Jim @dorbitz so sorry life has become boring for you. I hope that changes soon. But as George @george said " sometimes boring can be good" I don't mind having a good lazy boring day lol

I went for a pushbike ride on Saturday with some of the girls from bootcamp. The weather conditions could have been better. It was so so windy and at times a struggle trying to ride in a straight line and keep on the road, the gusts were that strong. BUt all in all a great day out, and a challenge accomplished and one I am proud of completing .It's been a lot of years since I have ridden a bike. 26 kilometres all up from start to finish. Some of the younger ones ( I am talking 20 and 30 years younger then me) did not complete the round trip. They managed(some really struggling) to get to the Pub, where we stopped for lunch and they phoned for someone to come pick them up.But I think 14 kilometres is a good ride in those conditions so they should be proud of that.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 that is fantastic!! Fit and healthy and helping worthy causes.
This year I did the "Bloody Long Walk" (35 kilometers ) for Mitochondria, virtually, because of covid restrictions. Instead of doing it as a huge group and all in one day on a designated route, we could walk it over 10 days anywhere we wanted and just log in our klm's via fitbit or whatever other gadget we wanted to use for mapping and tracking. I do a few different fundraiser challenges throughout the year. It's my way of contributing where I can.

  • Good Morning. Beautiful Spring weather down here. I am having a week's rest from bootcamp. I tore a muscle in my chest (painful) and it needs to be rested to heal. So only sessions I will be doing is "Stairs" session, which just involves mainly running stairs. I will also do some walking and maybe a couple of pushbikes around my neighbourhood. am also looking into volunteering for BlaizeAide in October. I had planned on doing this after I arrived home from Nepal but COVID put a spanner in the works there. It is a volunteer group that sets up camps in different towns, around Australia, that have been hard hit by the droughts and bushfires last summer. They are rebuilding fences and helping the farmers out wherever needed. I am looking forward to the experience.

Nancy @jerseystar27 GO YOU!! Thank goodness for technology eh? Our bootcamp classes were done the same way But now some of our restrictions have been lifted and we can now train back at the gym but still with some rules and regulations. Social distancing and restricted number of ppl per area must be adhered to.We are doing exceptionally well No new cases in over a month. Our State of Victoria is still in lockdown, as they try to control the outbreaks. Mainly Melbourne is the worst hit area.

  • 😆 @ Nancy @jerseystar27 That is exactly what I said 😆 😆

  • Good Morning , it's very wet here atm. We have had a few days of rain. It's been nice continual soaking rain.
The weekend just gone was a long weekend here and I had a couple of plans in the pipeline but they fell through so I decided to go camping with my DD, SIL and grandkids in their back yard. Just 5 minutes down the road from me. The weather was perfect, the sunset and views were spectacular and the camp fire very warming and relaxing on a cold winter night. There is something about winter camping and a camp fire, and a camp oven dinner that really soothes my soul and relaxes me. I love winter camping.

Things are slowly getting back to normal here with covid-19 restrictions as they allow more activities to happen.. Social/Physical distancing rules still do apply 1.5 metres apart. I can now have my usual morning tea catch up with friends at the cafe. That's been good. But I do need to book a table as they are only allowed a certain amount of sit downs and that depends on how big the venue is with the 1.5metres per person rule. Last Wednesday my Trivia team also had a catch up dinner at our local club's bistro.Trivia is not back happening yet (only online Live) so in the meantime we will meet for dinner and hook up to the Trivia online and play that way as a team. Next week gyms will be operational so I am looking forward to getting back there and using the equipment. I have enjoyed our live online sessions each day, its kept me motivated and we have been able to have a few outdoor ones along the riverbank, weather permitting and restricted to only 10 ppl.

Our Protest march for BLM was very peaceful here. I didn't go but friends went.

Nancy @jerseystar27 our farmers markets have been back running and it has been working well with social distancing. The organisers have applied crosses, the required distance apart on the ground where you stand in line and all the stalls are set a very good distance apart. Each stall has hand santiser for everyones use too. It's well organised and ppl seem to be very responsible and sticking to the rules of social distancing.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 and as Marypat would say "this too shall pass"

  • Good Morning. a chilly early start but it does Look like we are in for another perfect warm sunny Autumn day. It is Mothers Day tomorrow so let's hope this perfect weather continues for that. I am looking forward to lunch with my family at my DD's home and if this perfect weather continues it will be outside, sitting around the pool, . It has beautiful views and maybe a kangaroo or two will come visit. My adorable little Grand Daughter is doing the honours this year and she will be cooking for DD and me. This little 9 year old loves to cook and create and she is very good at it too. Can't wait.

Nancy @jerseystar27 I have been lucky. My favourite little coffee shop where i get my coffee each morning ater training is still operating but only as takeaway. No sitting in allowed. But at least I get to have a little normality and my little treat.

Jim @dorbitz Marypat passed away January 2018

George @george Yes Susu tracked down MP's obituary

    MaryPat DeGroodt

  • Good Morning It started out a clear sunny but chilly morning. I had almost finished my walk and it came over cloudy and it began to drizzle rain so I did get a little bit damp on the last leg of my walk
Nancy @jerseystar27 YUM!!! my favourite meat is lamb. Aussie lamb is the best!! I think I may have to lash out on my next grocery shop and buy some. I might get a leg and bake. Now with our isolation restrictions lifted a little I can have DD SIL and grandchildren over for dinner and I think I will do the traditional lamb baked dinner with baked potatoes , baked pumpkin and steamed green vegs. I am making myself very hungry thinking about it 😆
Katie @fyrqueen our stimulus payment goes straight into our bank accts so no need for any of us to go into the bank. Some of our banks here will be temporarily closing some of their doors till this is over.

  • Good Morning It is chilly here. I am up early and ready for my training session with Sarah. I'll be going for morning tea with my DD and Grand daughter today. GDD has been doing lots of cooking during isolation and home schooling and BOY can she cook. Yesterday she has cooked up another storm, yummy cookies. So I will go via my favourite cafe pick up coffee for DD and me and a hotchoc for DGG and then pay them a visit.Grand son is back at school. He has trouble staying focused on his school work while at home . He is very easily distracted so it was decided
it best all round for him to be at school.

Nancy @jerseystar27 I wonder what has happened to the board to be posting the birthday's a day early. Seems like it is set for Australian time. I wonder how it can be changed?

  • Good afternoon. The weather is just miserable down here. Strong gusty winds and cold.I tried to go for a jog this morning but had to be content with a walk. The wind was that strong I almost came to a stand still 😆 😆
Nancy @jerseystar27 and George @george Technology is such a wonderful thing.

I downloaded the new Covidsafe App yesterday. It is completely voluntary and will quickly help notify and isolate anyone that have come in contact with anyone with the virus.A lot are digging their heels in and are refusing to download, their choice of course . But their choices are based on scaremongering spread around via ..you guessed it...Facebook . I must admit I was skeptical at first but looked into it thoroughly and I think downloading it is the right thing to do and I hope the majority of Australians will too.

  • Good Morning
Hello Nancy @jerseystar27. It's been very quiet here, quieter than normal. We are getting some rain here too. Just a nice light shower which, so the weather report says, will be gone tomorrow and we will have some lovely sunny Autumn days.

  • Good Morning It is raining here today. It is so nice. Weather has been changing from warm and sunny to rain. Just perfect.
I just finished a training session with my trainer via FB Live on her Private Group. It's working really well for us and is keeping her small business going. Our fitness trip to Bali in June is more than likely going to be postponed. We will just have to wait and see what the future brings.

Nancy @jerseystar27 I am going to download Zoom too . My grandkids have it as their homeschool app on their school Ipads so I am hoping I can hook into that and we can have a good catch up. After school hours of course.

  • Nancy@jerseystar27 seems the calendar here is set on Aussie time. It is 30th down here 😆

  • Good Morning. I'm feeling a bit drained of energy this morning. I had a big weekend. Saturday morning was Bootcamp followed by a 5k Park run where I got a PB of 34 mins. I had the grandkids for a sleepover Saturday night so my Sunday rest day didn't really happen. They kept me very active and add to that, next to no sleep on Saturday night with them sleeping in Grandma's bed. How can 2 tiny ones take up so much room? LOL. Sunday morning was a workout morning, with them playing a game, where you picked a number and under that number was an activity . e.g 35 Burpees, 50 Pushups etc. LOL Anyway they had a lot of fun and we did a lot of laughing. I am just glad I can still do all this with them, plus it is great to see them enjoying doing a lot of activity.

Nancy @jerseystar27 My next door neighbour was over your way just recently. She did the New York Marathon.

    Julie

  • Good Morning. Its is going to be a hot one today. Already the wind is hot and it's only 10.30 a.m.
Today is a day of very mixed emotions. It is my darling grandsons 7th birthday and also the memorial of my eldest brother. And tomorrow would have been DH's birthday. He would have been 70
Nancy @jerseystar27 ((((hugs))) to you and I am glad to read you are working on getting some "me time" It is so necessary to do something good for yourself such as Walking and Yoga. It is good for the body but as you fully well know it is very good for the mind too. And that is important. Please give Mike my regards and I hope the therapy helps.

Jim @dorbitz Up until my early 30's I was a gym junkie LOL I spent many hours there each day,5 days a week. Now I think I am a bootcamp addict LOL 6 days a week doing at least 8 sessions a week. I feel so good about myself physically and mentally. 6 years ago I would never have thought I'd be doing Nepal treks, park runs, running stairs and even doing one burpee seemed impossible LOL But here I am aged 64 and doing it. And the best thing is I am still setting goals and I am still making small improvements

  • Good Morning. It is truly a lovely morning here. Clear blue sky and perfect temperature. It was trying to rain yesterday but sadly nothing eventuated here and the day ended dry dusty and windy.

Carl @carma it is so sad 🙁
Nancy @jerseystar27 Thanks for the info re Susan's birthday. I was about to post her cake . It is also showing on FB that today is her birthday BUT that is always the case with FB because I am a day ahead of you. LOL Today is the 9th

  • Good afternoon . It has been a glorious day. It Feels like Spring. I spent a good part of it out in the yard, whipper snipped and mowed. But first not without dramas. The whipper snipper would not start. I pulled and pulled on the chord till I wore skin away between my fingers. I took the filter out and gave it a good wash. Still no good. So decided it must be time for a new one. Went down to shop and they didn't have any. Assistant was going to give me the one from the whipper snipper on display but it didn't have one (already been given to someone else) ANyone I he ended up giving me another one from a different model, free So if it worked it worked. It was a bit bigger. I made it fit and after a few pulls on the chord I was up and running. But boy oh boy my hands sore where the skin has been broken.

Nancy @jerseystar27 The Rugby went well. The little boys were very overwhelmed with their first game away. And the pace was so much faster than they were used to. They were totally exhausted during their 2nd game. Poor little things didn't know what hit them LOL But they did well and by their 3rd game they were doing fine. It was so much fun to watch and see them grow.It was such a big learning curve for them. They came away so proud of themselves.

Katie @fyrqueen I am so glad Mike is doing well

  • Good Morning, This horrid wind continues down here and is suppose to get worse today before it starts to ease by tomorrow.

George @george I hope your eyes feeling OK after the shots. I have a friend that has started getting them

Jim @dorbitz You know what they say about "All work and no Play?"

Nancy @jerseystar27 Now that is something I love, avocado and smoked salmon, together. YUM

Marson @panishklo I hope you are keeping well. I have no doubt that the family will not let the 84 year old go picking blueberries next year.

Katie @fyrqueen I don't blame you. With that unthankful attitude, I would make sure I was not be available ever again.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 Yes those photos of granddaughter at the swing park in the birds nest jutted out over the rice paddies were amazing.SHe has grown in confidence so much during this trip. Climbing a ladder to get into that nest, took lot of courage for an 8 year old But she did it with so much confidence. But that's the Balinese ppl for you. They have such a way that makes you feel confident and relaxed.

I am back to reality now, My first outing to a cafe for breakfast this morning NO welcoming genuine smile. No "Good morning Miss Julie how are you" Just a grumpy girl serving me which put me in a defensive, bad mood.Balinese ppl treat you like precious family.

  • Good Morning. It is a little overcast today with showers predicted. Rain would be good. A good part of our country is still in the worst drought with water levels very low. Some towns have no water and are trucking it in
Nancy @jerseystar27 sounds like you have your retirement all worked out. You will enjoy having that time for yourself to do what is good for you. Looking forward to the time you and DH can come visit Aus.
Hi Marson @panishklo 🙂 enjoy your weiner roast ( I'm off to Google now what a weiner roast is LOL)
    Julie

  • Good morning. It is Thursday here and what I call my sleep in/ rest day, where I just get up when I wake up (usually 7-7.30a.m) By Thursday I have usually done 5 bootcamp sessions. Yesterday I did 3 sessions plus a 5klm walk, so I need the rest. The 5 kilometre walk was with a friend I am helping to improve her health and fitness. She wants to do a 35klm fundraiser walk with me that I am doing in July. I'll walk with her and encourage her (3 days a week after my bootcamp sessions) to get her ready..It's been a long time since she has done anything physical, so yesterday she did struggle a little towards the end, doing 5kilometres. But with encouragement and consistency she will improve. It took us an hour. At that pace it will take us about 7 hours for the 35k walk. It is advertised as "The Bloody Long Walk" and helps raise $$ for Mitochondrial Disease.
So today my plan is to just potter around the house and do (or don't do) whatever I feel like. The weather this morning is just perfect!! Clear, blue, warm, sunny sky. At 9 a.m it is 13 Celsius. Perfect for just lazing around till bootcamp this afternoon at 5p.m with Grand Daughter. I love doing this with her, It is so special that we can train together.

Jim @dorbitz Totally understand your reluctance in accepting the position. But I know you must be feeling pretty chuffed about being offered the job. GO YOU!!

Nancy @jerseystar27 I wish you all the best in your retirement

  • Good Morning. Very wet here and I am loving it ..We are under threat of water restrictions so the rain is desperately needed and very welcomed.
Grandson played Footy this morning. I was so sure it would have been cancelled because of the rain but they still went ahead with it.The kids don't mind playing in the rain. They love it.

Nancy @jerseystar27 I haven't seen Toby on the Vintage Glass Group for awhile now. I hope he is OK too
Re books. It's Murphy Law for me.As sure as eggs, if I have books, clothing or fabrics at a swap or market it is almost certain to rain.

  • Good Morning. We have been enjoying DDG Autumn weather down here and I have been loving it.

Carl @carma it would break my heart not being able to see my grandkids for that long. 3 and a bit weeks was long enough when I was in Nepal. I am glad that Emma can make it home and you'll get to see her. Hopefully Marley will able to make it too

Nancy @jerseystar27 a Yoga workshop sounds great. I have been thinking about taking up a class or 2 two of yoga per week. But I have been saying that for a few years now 😆 😆 I did enjoy it while in Nepal doing the trek. We would do a session first thing in the morning and another session in the afternoon when we arrived at our destination. Great way for stretching and stopping any stiffness or soreness. I am not graceful by any means when doing yoga 😆 But I did improve as the days went on and my flexibility did improve a lot. Balance slightly better :lol
Here is a pic of us doing Sun Salutation on a mud rendered roof overlooking the town of Marpha as the sun came up.

And this one is at the teahouse we stayed in a gorgeous little village, Hille, the first afternoon of our trek

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 condolences to you and our family

  • Jim @dorbitz the ride was amazing. Wished my phone camera showed the true aqua colour of the ocean. So so very pretty and our sand is white. It truly is a gorgeous part of the world.

Marson @panishklo yes we must enjoy our lives without them. It is hard sometimes but I do have a very good loving circle of friends and family always surrounding me.

Nancy @jerseystar27 yes it is hard to believe it has been 10 years

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 BIG ((((((((HUGS))))))

  • Good afternoon another cold wet day with the grandkids and also my great nephew spent the day with us.

Nancy @jerseystar27 My condolences to you and your family

  • We are back to perfect Spring weather, though it was cold early this morning at training

Nancy @jerseystar27 yep I can relate 😀 Though in my case , it's my winter gear

  • Good Morning. Clear skies and sunny here. I just hope the wind doesn't pic up again.Everything is covered in a coat of dust
Nancy @jerseystar27 sounds like a perfect birthday

  • Good Morning mornings are getting darker and darker. I can't wait for our daylight savings to end.
Temps have increased here. Yesterday and last night became very hot and this morning it is really uncomfortably humid. Weather report says we will get back up to 39C ( 102F) on Sunday .OMG that's going to hurt!! I'll be travelling on a train to the airport And because there is a lot of track work we have to get off and do some walking with our suitcases to catch buses. At one change over it says an 8 minute walk to the bus. I could handle that normally but its going to be a struggle in that heat and with luggage.

Nancy@jerseystar27 I'm glad you arrived safely

Carl @carma I might just save that pic and look at it when I am walking in the heat

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 I am very thrilled to be getting Nanas sideboard. I remember it so well from when I was a little girl. It use to have a huge mirror with shelves on top. I remember all Nana's little ornaments on the shelves. She had one of those little noddy dog ornaments and she would lift me up onto the side board and let me play with the noddy dog. The side board seemed so huge to such a little girl back then. I couldn't even reach the top of the sideboard.I was probably only about 3 or 4. I remember as Nana got older and obviously much shorter, her sons (My Dad included) cut the mirror and shelves off because Nana couldn't reach anymore to dust. After she passed away my father had it and it sat out on our back verandah for many years getting "ruined" Dads brother , my Uncle Jim (R.I.P) eventually took it and to everyone's surprise restored it beautifully. Minus the top section of course. No one can remember what happened to that. Nana passed away when I was about 10 years old but I still have such very fond memories of her and how much love she had for us all.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 I had planned on having a half birthday for Miss P on my birthday She was born 28th Dec and me 29th June. But when my Grandson came along, I gave up that idea as it just didn't seem fair

  • Good Morning . I survived yesterday's brutal temps Now to do it all over again.
I'm going out to lunch with some friends for our Xmas catchup. It just couldn't be orgaise before Xmas this year for one reason or another, so today it is. At least the car is air conditioned and so is the restaurant. I have 2 boot camp training session this afternoon too ... why do I have the sudden urge to break out into Gloria Gayner's song "I will Survive" LOL

Nany @jerseystar27 yes it's nothing for the tar to melt on our roads. And also for the cement medium strips in the middle of the roads to buckle. As we say down here " Bloody Hot Mate"

  • @jerseystar27 Thanks, Nancy. I think you're right about the pewter pieces.

  • Good Morning, we are getting nice steady rain here atm.
    Nancy@jerseystar27 thanks

  • LOL Nancy @jerseystar27 I keep forgetting I am a day ahead of you.

  • Good Morning. Looks like the horrid wind has dropped and its a gorgeous sunny Spring day. We are in desperate need of rai. Our bushfire season has already started.
Nancy@jerseystar27 Looking forward to seeing your pretties

Carl @carma sorry to hear about George. I am currently wearing a wrist band that says "Cancer Sucks"

    Julie

  • Good Morning. A beautiful Spring type day here. Even got my first blowfly in the house, for the season. Grrrr they drive me insane buzzing around, hitting walls and windows
One more sleep and I start my adventure to Nepal. I am so excited!! I bet I won't get much sleep tonight.

Sharon @sfinds I am glad your house came out OK

Nancy @jerseystar27 yes I did read on the Vintage Group about the Go Fund Me for Toby. Thanks for sharing

    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Looks like we will be in for a niice warm winters day..that is, if the wind doesn't pick up again, like it has been.brrrr that makes things cold.
Jim @dorbitz so sorry you are still in pain. Keep resting and stay away from those hot dogs
Thanks for the tips for my nephew.I see mention on FB they did go to Little Italy and he has posted pics from a boat near the falls. It looks like they are having a great time .
As for the coffee. I have had it. My next door neighbours bought me back some a few years ago, when they were in Bali. Its nice coffee but I wouldn't rave over it.

Oh George @george, Carl @carma, Nancy @jerseystar27 and Fran @fran2 where's your sense of adventure LOL Just a little sip..go on, It's really nice coffee.

    Julie

  • @jerseystar27 Nancy We are trying to stay cool. We are not supposed to see weather like this . I have put a fan on the patio to create a breeze

  • Mahnin'All: It's 60 degrees, raining.......AGAIN and we're forecast for a high of 72 with rain pretty much all day. Last summer we were in extreme drought. This year is just won't quit raining. One extreme to the other.

Picked the first Blueberries yesterday, maybe a little over a pint and they're delicious. Also picked about 15 Cherry Tomatoes. There's more just starting to ripen & there's some of the Early Girls just starting to turn. No sign of ripening on the Roma's yet.

    @jerseystar27 : Happy Birthday, Nancy!

  • I'm a few hours ahead and it is 27th July here so @jerseystar27

  • @jerseystar27 LOL asleep at the switch. I meant GOOD MORNING

  • Good Morning everyone. My weather report is a repeat of the past few days.
I've managed to pick up a bit of a bug or it could possibly just be hayfever (runny nose, itchy eyes and throat etc) so I have missed my training sessions the last 2 mornings. But I think the pills I bought and took yesterday has made a big improvement.
I'm looking forward to a great weekend away camping with a fun group of friends and family. It's on my cousins property which is only 2-3 minutes away from my home in suburbia. I will be lucky to get the ute into 4th gear, driving to there LOL. Cousin owns 100 acres and part of the property is an old sandstone quarry which is surrounded by 100+ year old sandstone buildings and bushland. It is a magic spot. We'll be having camp fires and cooking in camp ovens. It'll be cold and maybe a bit frosty but sitting around the camp fire will warm us all up. Best time, really, to go camping when you can make the most of the camp fire. Love it!!

Nancy @jerseystar27 and George @george I would have to be the worlds worst gardener LOL so Farmers Markets are my answer to fresh local grown produce.

    Julie

  • Good afternoon. Today's weather has been perfect. Beautiful warm sunny winters day. No frost or dew this morning at all. Short sleeve weather outdoors in the sun.
Jim @dorbitz Glad the therapy has been working. I was the same many years ago with dizziness.I'do ften get it so finally went to Dr's,he gave me special "excerises" to do and I have be dizzy free for many many years
Nancy @jerseystar27 I have often thought about taking up Yoga. My cousin that lives in Nepal is a Yogi Master and this year she is organising a Yoga Trek to the Himilayas. If she'd decided to do that before I booked my trip to there in September I would have waited and joined the Yoga trek. Maybe next year, if this one is a success, she will do it again.
George@george I'm glad there were no overnight accidents and Penny held on till morning

  • Nancy@jerseystar27 kids are so adorable when it comes to keeping surprises or not keeping surprises. Miss P is really good at keeping them. Mr 4 yr old thinks he is, because he hasn't told me what it is LOL.

    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone. Chilly start but the sun is shining and so now its rather pleasant.
Nancy @jerseystar27 Yes we start our seasons on the first of the month. I'm not sure when this all started. I'm sure I remember as a little kid it wasn't that way, it was on the Soltice. But distant childhood memories can be blurred, so maybe I'm wrong. I might have to do some Googling later when I get time and see what I can find out
    Julie

  • Good Morning everyone It's overcast here. Not sure if we will get any rain, though
Nancy @jerseystar27 (((hugs)))) to you . It's hard watching our parents age.

    Julie

  • @jerseystar27 Nancy we are finally supposed to get 4 days into the 70samd no rain. I wont recognize the area.

    good night all.

  • Good Morning, the mornings are getting chillier as we get closer to Winter. The skies are still clear and the sun is shining. But we are predicted to get more than a months worth of rain in just 3 days. And I have planned to go camping tomorrow for a couple of days LOL Hopefully I'll be home before it hits

Nancy @jerseystar27 I always enjoy the grandkids <3 <3 They bring me so much happiness . Love them to bits

  • Good afternoon. it is another absolutely beautiful, perfect, warm Autumn day. It can't get any better then this, just magnificent.
I hope this continues on to tomorrow. It is ANZAC Day and I will be marching in honour of my father who served in WW11 and my Grandfather who served in WW1. My daughter and my grandchildren will be joining me, along with my brother and one of my nieces and her young son.3 generations marching. My sister always marched with us too, so I am sure there will be a few tears because she is not there with us.One of my other nieces and her son always marched with us too but they are over in Europe atm, last I heard (this morning when they phoned my brother) they were on top of the Eiffel Tower.

    Nancy @jerseystar27 how very exciting !! 😀

Nancyjean @nona I use to have one of those vintage Teasmades. I loved it, great for when I use to get up at those ungodly hours of the morning to go swimming. Set the alarm put water in the metal pot and in the morning the pot would boil and drain into the china teapot, then the alarm would go off and you'd have a pot of tea all ready to have before you got out of bed

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 yes cancer sucks. They actually have a sign at the oncology hospital with that on it. My niece and BIL took a pic of it and they now have it as a tattoo .

    Julie

  • Today has cooled down a fair bit so we are getting some relief but reports say we are in for more shockingly high temps again.I am really dragging my tail today. I had hardly any sleep last night . Tonight I should sleep well with the drop in temps.
Nancy @jerseystar27 Yes it is a DDG pot isn't it?

  • @jerseystar27 Climate change! The polar ice cap melint has let the Siberian cold push this way and changed prvailing winds alittle.

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 Thanks for clearing that up. I thought Shelly was talking about the fires down here.
Kids!!! some have no fear. Though you would think their parents would have been taking a bit more care for their safety, not a complete stranger.

    Julie

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 you have the same painting skills as me LOL

  • @jerseystar27: We're going to get new, pre-colored, vinyl shutters eventually. The ones we have now are metal. The house was originally yellow & the shutters turquoise. Years back we painted the house a taupe color & painted the shutters a deep, wine red. About a month after the shutters were painted, they turned a hideous shade of light pinkish purple. So, we re-painted them a dark forest green. They then turned a putrid, light lime green. I think no matter what you paint them they're going to turn color because they are metal & heat up in the sun. So, down they come for good! The new siding is nearly the identical taupe color that we painted the old wood. We'll shop around for new ones that are pre-colored a dark forest green in the spring.

  • @jerseystar27 Nancy lucky you you got the storm twice.

  • @jerseystar27 Looks like the news directors wanted something other than election news and the storm was it. Turned out to be not much for us anyway,

    Now good night all.

  • Good Morning Its sunny here atm. Yesterday was overcast and stormy with lots of rain in the evening
    Nancy @jerseystar27 enjoy your trip
Carl @carma I hope you get rain soon
Jim @dorbitz Do it!! I'd like to do it again. I think 2nd time round I would enjoy the free fall a lot more. 1st time I was petrified LOL I guess it had something to do with jumping out of a perfectly good plane 14,000 ft above the ocean LOL
    Julie

  • Nancy @jerseystar27 I was away so I missed JimD's birthday. May he RIP

  • Good afternoon to you all. Its been a DDG warm sunny winters day.
Marson @panishklo nice to see you and thanks for the hugs

Nancy @jerseystar27 I hope your Mum makes a good recovery

Reen @reen try not to do anything too stupid and stay well
