Hmmm, I remember someone telling me a long time ago that this type of paperweight was used to mount a persons photo in a tombstone. Anyone heard anything like that?

Does anyone know what this is?? It's 6" from point to point, under the center looks like a place for a photo. The pressed design has some dark gold paint in it. Thank you so much for looking!

@sellingthings Hi Marty, I checked my books but didn't find any like yours. Dram, purse size are very collectible and you have some nice ones. One of the best perfume sites is: http://www.passionforperfume.com/

@shellyrae37 It has a lime green color to it so I wasn't thinking custard but when I look at the bottom of the feet it looks custard inside!

Good morning! I have a bowl that has me puzzled. It is very heavy at 3 lbs 10 ozs, the color reminds me of Houze (I've checked their site), but I also think Northwood with the shape. Any ideas? It's 10" X 3". When held to the sunlight there is an opal edge that shows. Thanks for looking!!

@10bbg10 Helen, that shape stopper was used by Cambridge, Morgantown and Paden City. I have 2 of them and have no idea what decanter they are for out of the 3 companies.
Happy New year to all of you...I hope the new year brings great glass finds and great prices for you! -

@fyrqueen I marked this site because they are buying books on glass, http://www.whitehouse-books.com/
Another suggestion is email the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia about donating books to them and then have a tax deduction. -

@jagofc Hi, yes the red set is Morgantown Arena and I found them in the wire rack, which amazed me!
The tumbler is 5 1/4" tall and the jigger is 2 1/4" tall. http://i41.tinypic.com/wjvuw2.jpg
Thanks for the kind words everyone, it's taken a long time to get so many items.

Morning everyone. I have been quite busy lately and pop in here to read and then run. Since I too am a collector I thought I would talk about it since I have more time today. I started collecting rocks when I was a child which led to jewelry. I've always loved Art Deco and sparkle so when I saw something Deco I could afford it came home whether it was jewelry or furniture. I've collected glass since the 1970s and through the years sold many pieces to upgrade. My husband liked a Farber Bros decanter I brought home and we now have a large collection of Farber Bros bar items. While looking at the chrome we found Farberware pieces and began getting them, many had vintage glass attached or in sets. The Farberware took over for a while and last year I had a book published about our collection; The Fabulous World of Farberware. (Available through Old Line Publishing, LLC) It shows our collection plus pages from hard to find original catalogs.
I'll keep popping in and help when I can. Janice

Hi everyone, I lurk a lot and help when I can. I thought I would show you my lamp shade, got it at a garage sale last year. I found one like it online that was Steuben but I know other companies made this pattern. It rings like a bell and one day I hope to find the perfect lamp for it. The base flares out to 2 1/8”, the 4 3/4” at the widest and 5 1/2” long. I can’t find a mark on it but it was the bargain of the year for ten cents!

@ginnyrose We've had pieces stuck before and gotten them loose with either spraying WD40 around the edge and letting in soak and loosen the sticky, or soaking in warm soapy water.
