Good Morning everyone I had a fabulous day yesterday.
Lots of ppl went fancy dressed.Just hilarious!! The group I went with normally do a theme but this year they decided not to.Champagne was flowing freely from about 8.45a.m at Jen's house before we boarded our hired bus and the champagne was flowing freely the whole time we were on the bus . Food was great at the places we ate. First stop was Tatlers Vineyards where my sister and I shared a cheese platter and sampled a wine. Sat in the sun and enjoyed the band for awhile. Then onto the bus where the champagne bottles were being passed around and off to next vineyard.Meal I had there was BBQ honey soy Atlantic salmon served on a roasted pumpkin and cous cous salad with preserved lemon and parsley aioli YUM!!! Last vineyard I had Fillet of wild saltwater barramundi served with saffron a& lemon risotto and Emerson's sweet tomato and onion relish Followed by Double chocolate tart with Bailey's whipped cream and crisp chocolate wafer. A fun day!!!! Great weather!!! Great company!!!Glass can't mention any glass, sorry, because the wine glasses this year were plastic Oh yes I can, the wine bottles were GLASS LOL

@mytreasures99 loveglass BEE ... I have 3 blacklights. The first one is a wee push-button key-chain type that I keep on my purse strap. I love it for quick easy detection while treasure hunting. Click here.
The second one is like Jim D's. I use it when I have plenty of time and I like that it has a bright flashlight that I can use to look at the crowded bottom shelves in dark old antique stores...and then I can switch it over to a strong black light when needed. This is the model I have. Click Here
Then when I'm taking photographs for eBay listings I use a big long fluorescent bulb Click here

@mytreasures99: my cats know the click of the switch. They can be sound asleep and all I have to do is turn it on and they are right there.

B @mytreasures99 sorry I really can't help you there without knowing who made the pitcher and when, We'll have to wait for the smart glassies to come along tomorrow and once they can ID the pitcher then the value will fall into place. Good luck with it.... who knows in this game anymore, whether its started too high or started too low Some days there seems to be no rhyme or reason for the selling prices

loveglass1965 @mytreasures99 I do not know the value of the pitcher but one thing I look at when trying to decide on a starting price ,is the completed auctions, to see what the same item has been selling for . It is good & well for sellers to have high BINs on their items, but look and see how long they have had them listed for that price. That will give you the answer whether your starting price is right or not. Also a lower starting price for auction format can often generate a bidding war, the buyer will ignore the high BIN and start bidding on the lower priced one , get caught up in the bidding, determined to win. But HEY sometimes they don't.You just never know whats going to happen. Its all a big gamble..you win some you loose some
Keep checking back for words of wisdom from the others that know their values and know eBay selling a lot better them me

KATIE, doesn't any of your Children want any of your family heirlooms? I would have jumped at the chance to own some of my Grandmothers things. They were never offered.

Good morning, glassies. Still under a wind advisory and we are just about to blow away into Kansas!
@mytreasures99 LOVEGLASS1965 ... Welcome to the Glass Chatroom! If this room is new to you, check out the upper right-hand tab that’s labeled ”How To’’ Manual. Lots of great info there. Also on the right-hand sidebar, you should find Welcome to Glass Chat and How To Post a Picture Link very helpful. Do you have a given name we can use? We look forward to chatting with you!
@amber1986 AMBER ... There is no ONE book that I can think of that would help. My advice would be to keep looking at the pictures posted, learning which style or era or manufacturer that you like best. Then it will be easier to tell you which books you may wish to start with. For me, I read the glass chat daily for 6 months when I realized that my love always gravitated toward EAPG. For others, it may be Art Glass, Depression Glass, Mid-Century....Cambridge, Fry, Fostoria, Paden City.... toothpicks, salts, animal figures, kitchenware... carnival glass, stretch glass, vaseline glass.....
