Morning all -
Chilly morning here in Akron. 36 degrees on backyard thermometer. Too early for this chill !!
Been keeping busy cleaning & IDing several boxes of pink depression/mid-century glass (Hocking Princess & Mayfair, Jeannette Windsor Diamond), punch bowl sets (Hocking) , unknown crystal glassware (footed sherbets, water tumblers & sundae glasses), unique black melamine dishes (Branchell - LaMoyne design/signed) and two boxes of china (Sone' - Japan, maple leaf platinum design) that was given to the wife & I by her cousin (who owns a storage unit business).
I have had no luck on the IDs of the clear glass footed items so will post pics here later today after I modify the pictures to cut down to size (640X480 pixels) - my camera is set to 3072X2304 pixels for high definition.
Later !

Good morning Glassies !!!! LTNS on my part !

Wife & I have been extremely busy this Summer & for the most part, my computer social time has been spent on FaceBook & their glass groups. I do have to laugh though at the job FB does on "losing" pictures & posts

Carl - your problem on Sellers cancelling sales also has a flip side: Buyers in the last 6 months have had the audacity to cancel their purchases & admit that they found the item cheaper either on eBay or other online venues. Oh, then there are the ones who buy & when they receive the item, open a "Not as described" case against you. They return (after refund) an item that is not what you shipped them.

Hello All - I give up ! Health wise, that is ! Two weeks ago in hospital for possible angina - overnight stay with testing next day: results - esophageal spasms (which mimic a heart attack) - WHEW !! Then last Wednesday took BH out to dinner - 2 hours later, in ER again, severe stomach pain - resulting from food poisoning. Last time we go to that restaurant. Then Saturday we went to a local auction looking for nautical decorations for the camper. No luck but in the evening again with the stomach pain - this time it was a localized virus that is circulating here in the area. Can't win for losing ! Thank God for Medicare Supplemental insurance.
Mickey(cat) is doing better - he won't play anymore & wants held & cuddled a lot. Definitely looks like sight in one eye may be gone. He acts like a senior cat - not the one year old that he is. Vet said that he may have taken a fall or hit his head while romping with the dog. He won't run tests unless cat shows signs of distress - too costly.

Carl - keeping fingers crossed on the storm.

Shelly - also praying for you !!!

Sorry I haven't been here very much lately. I have been tending to a sick kitten. We didn't know if it was a virus or possibly a traumatic blow(from him racing around the house chasing & being chased by the dog) but he was off his feed for about 4 days with one eye clouding up, the sclera(inner eyelid) partially closed. He seems to be recovering but it is almost like he has aged a couple of years - no chasing, playing with toys, dog baiting etc. The Vet says "no virus - probably a knock on the head from jumping/falling off a table" and to just watch him & if he gets worse then he'll get into more serious diagnosis such as Xrays, etc.

Carl - WOW !!!! Impressive job on all the BAR stock & overall layout. I remember as a pre-teen helping my Uncle who was a paraplegic work on his attic layout (30 X 60), on handmade tables with the only access to reset trains, etc. was by a mechanic's creeper. He had over 300 pieces of rolling stock that was immaculate - all Lionel purchased during the late 40s & 50s, which he kept in the original boxes when not on the layout. He was hospitalized while I was in the service & the family sold everything, lock, stock & layouts for a song. I remember Mom telling me that they cut up the layout with a chain saw to get it out of the attic.
Keep posting pics of the layout - brings back memories !!!!

Shelly/Julie - FYI: I got the Seascape salver for $25 + the 2 C&S trays that match for $5 more. I left "end-of-sale" bids on them plus a WAB on two sets of gorgeous pink candle holders that were displayed upside down with a matching console bowl (5 pieces of perfect glass). I don't know the who, what, when on the "pinks" - I just fell in love with them. For the price of the pinks, I can't go wrong. I go back tomorrow afternoon to pick all 8 pieces of glass up.
I have only seen one salver in Opalescent Blue for sale on the net & it went for the $255 on eBay. Seascape is not listed that often from what I have seen.

Here in Akron, BOE says "if wind chill is below zero - no school in entire city". I think also that if air temp is below 10 degrees, they cancel. Most of the kids in Akron walk - few buses run except for Elementary & Middle students who are transported because of "population shifts" or lack of nearby facilities.
Currently at +10 with wind chill @ -5 expecting warm up tomorrow to 30. Arctic air coming in Sunday night & Monday. EVERYBODY keep warm !!!!

@carma Carl - Thanks again ! I looked over all the references that I have access to on the IG Cobalt & decided that I would pass on most of them. I did break down & picked up a toothpick holder (3 swan in Cobalt) that I couldn't resist. Price was only $3. Was totally intrigued by the several pieces of Fenton that were for sale in lime green, jade yellow & a light blue satin. ALL pieces were marked or had labels. Prices were higher & they said come today for 1/2 price or negotiate. Amazingly though, most of the better looking pieces looked like they had been stored in a mud pit & then wiped off - not washed.
Hope you can stay warm - temp here is 26 & we didn't get the forecasted snow the predicted. Only got about an inch - forecast was 4"- 6".

I was curious about the Cobalt pieces & a couple of the iridized cobalt that they had. My "real" desire was several pieces of Fenton satin finish in Blue satin, jade yellow, and lime sherbet. Most looked like they had just been dug out of a mud pit. They had several pieces that I might go back for tomorrow (1/2 price & negotiable beyong that).

@ohiostar Fenton - I was raised in NE Ohio. We had snow drifts around the farm that were at least 20 foot high. One side of neighbor's house was buried up above the eaves with the blowing snow. We had to tunnel from the farmhouse to the barn to milk the cows. There were 6 truck drivers stranded within a mile of the farm so we had visitors for a week. Dad worked part-time for the township & drove the half-track plow home the night before Thanksgiving. Still had to wait for the National Guard to bring in tanks rigged with plows to clear Route 46 - main artery from Ashtabula to Warren.

Morning Glassies - sitting here at the puter watching furkids play & having last of the morning coffee. Just realized that my 2 furballs are mixed up: Mickey(cat) carries toys around in his mouth, hides them from dog & follows us around wanting petted. Scarlett(dog) pounces on toys, bats them & holds them with her paws. Hasn't started to "Purr" yet - just "talks" to cat when she wants to play or "tattle" when kitten does something wrong like climbing on desk, etc.

They are hilarious when both want to cuddle - I usually get the brunt of a two-pronged attack with the dog in my lap wanting petted & the kitten either on my chest or on a shoulder patting my face wanting petted.

Good morning Glassies -
I have been sidetracked lately & haven't spent a lot of time on my glass inventory - mostly on FaceBook & trying to generate sales.
We "adopted" a new furkid to keep our Cavalier busy last Sunday. He is a 4 month old Tuxedo that is small in size but large in attitude. He took to the dog like they were long lost buds within 30 minutes of splash down in the house. They rock & roll all over the house & then crash in a big pile on top of each other to "rest" and clean each other.
RE: Lucy - I remember long chats with her away from the eBay Glass Chatboard. She was an amazing lady who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Loved how she could silence the "know-it-alls" & "thought they knew it alls".

It was almost as if they were daring any vehicles to interrupt the crossing. If I remember correct, Dad stopped counting at 50 & they were still coming. Camper winterized & now back @ home after spending a frustating weekend in the Bedford, PA area. Frustrating because I saw so much nice glass at several flea markets & consignment shops - the only problem was all the shops, etc. were priced very high (GF BV & higher). I did buy a cocktail shaker - Jeannette Hellenic pattern in Corinthian Blue that matches the bar set I have.
One booth had a 65 piece lot of AH Fire-King Peach Lustre for sale for $25 - almost bit on it. Another shop had 150 pieces of Candlewick for sale - minimum tag on each piece was $10 (7" saucers).

ALSO most come loaded with software already installed (at no cost to you). The reason - software is installed & registered to a specfic CPU - once registered it cannot be transferred to another CPU (unless the owner transfers to a new machine).
