Forgot that I'm a member here - just came back in to visit and see some familiar names. Heartbroken that our m00se has passed away. Thank you very much, LYNN DAVIDSON, for letting us know. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim & Bonnie years ago when they, along with Dick Reed and his wife, visited Dallas.

11.5 inches here in Longmont per the US Weather service. Much more in Boulder - 28" in some places. The amount of snow in the Denver Metro area broke some records for February. I'm okay here - I'm right on a main thoroughfare that is plowed almost every 30 minutes. And we had a lot of sun and melting today. Some places higher up got 55". Yes, almost 5 feet! The mountain folks love it - it's good for the ski resorts. We still need more moisture for a lot of areas that are still in a drought situation.
Are you going to get any from this storm, which sat on us for 3 days, but is now headed east. ??? Nice to see you, Nancy!!!

While I'm here: I've asked about this piece in several groups - and I'm interested in what the folks here have to say. It's about 18-20 inches high. The cord and fittings (except for the socket) are "older" i.e., 2 prong cord, brass (or what appears to be brass) fittings - can't unscrew it. No markings anywhere.

Thank you, Scott. I am interested in properly describing this particular piece’s ”bottom”.

There appears to be a chip or a flaw where one of the mould seams ends, and I want to describe that correctly.

Ahhh - thank you, Gail!!!!

Hi folks - lots of familiar faces here. I have a question: Am I nuts or is the word "marie" not used to describe the bottom "rim" on a piece of glass??? I've done a bunch of searches and can't find a single place that uses this word. I am sure I've seen it used in the glass chats - but can't find a reference. ?????

Wow - many birthdays today. Sending HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to Marson & Deb. Miss seeing Deb - is anyone in touch with her?
MaryM & Wellington: I finally adopted a new kitty (my picture) 5 YEARS after I had to put my sweet Little Rat down. You'll know when you're ready for another kitty. I had gone to the humane society several times, and was tempted several times. Then in April, I stopped by on a whim and Sashiko was there and I just knew she was the "right one". She's a sweetie pie and adorable - her favorite thing is to bite, though - LOL. Never had a kitty that would be cuddling one minute and biting the next - she doesn't do it to be mean or hurtful, it's just her "thing" - lol.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAIL!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to FRAN!
Fun here in northern Colorado today. 12" of snow here - the wet, sticky kind - and most of the trees still have leaves. LOTS of tree damage all over, and power outages. All fine here - the storm is over, but now that it's clear, our low will be 14º. Not our usual weather for this date, but it will all clear out in a day or so.

@shellyrae37 - Sashiko is a variation of a Japanese word that means "beautiful child". I had just read several novels by a Japanese author (recommended by Nancy P.) and wanted to find a pretty and interesting name for my new kitty.

Thanks, Gail - I'll check things out and try to get acclimated to this new board.
Shelly - that's my "new" baby - Sashiko. Adopted her from the Longmont Humane Society in April. She's between 3 and 4 years old and a sweetie. In my lap right now.
Julie, hope all goes well with Miss P's doctor visits. I know you'll miss her but I'm sure her mom & dad hope to get some sleep.
Funny about the "old" glass board. Love all the posts there tonight. Soooo . . . does that mean that Fran didn't really win the contest since it's technically still "alive"????
-
WTG, Fran! What's your prize - a new frog???
Strange - went to the link Shelly posted and saw the old glass board. Now I'm really confused - it's not nice to fool with an old lady!
Here's what I had posted earlier:

Thank you, Tom! Appreciate your response!BTW, just read this on eCommerceBytes (AuctionBytes) site - don't know if anyone noticed it or was affected by it:

Oh, one more - and a good point - WHY make changes (that are full of glitches) during the holiday shopping season???

Well, that sucked. I'd just posted a couple of informational links to the glass chat, refreshed a few minutes later, and then it was - - - poof - - -
So, who won the contest?
