Hi everyone.
I have been asked about on Book, Pottery and Glass boards so I will do a sort of blanket post.
Got back from Illinois the week after NY. Was tired and kept falling asleep. That sometimes happens after an adjustment. The aligning process hits what I call my "sleepy nerve". One night I fell asleep in the computer chair for about 7 hours. Kept sort of waking up but could not wake up enough to go to bed.I have been reading the boards between working in kitchen to "unearth" and gaining some headway there, but problems when I went to post. Upped my tramadol so as to try to "do more" which has it's own issues. Had a lot of computer "not responding" Took so much time to get it to respond I would be zoned out again.
Guess today the planets are aligned or something. Woke to frozen computer, restarted, managed to type a post which I have not yet lost, connection is holding, too, so this should work.Enjoying the first of the month top sales on BOOK board. maybe POTTERY and GLASS will do the same. Love to see what is selling.
SHELLY , CLEM(Paula), DIANE, And all (because I probably forgot some) who express concern about me. It is nice to be thought of. Need to have a tech do a specific thing to my computer to help stop the freezing/not responding thing but do not have money for that now.
My car is not fixable, frame wise, either, so will have to find something to haul trailer with. New used late 1990's suburban with 100,000 miles are about $5000-$6000. Can't afford much more is that.
Car is great mechanically, if you don't count unscrewing the battery terminal every time I stop so it won't discharge, and the now no A/C, and then there is a corner of the frame missing that holds the gas tank ( 340 pounds when full). At least they finally found the gas leak (that I have had them look for for 4 months), so that was another almost $400 on a car that I can't use to haul with.Anyway life goes on. Have not had to be plowed all winter, saving somewhat on heating propane since it is not as continually cold as normal, have managed to keep toes from frostbite this year thanks in large part to heated floor mat at desk. Not here much but when I fall asleep it doesn't take long to affect those compromised toes again. We have been down to 3 degrees. We do need snow though as we are very dry. Most on ground at one time is only 2-3 inches.
So...Teddy and I are OK. Would love to teach him a new trick this winter if I can think of a good one. He has made huge strides in his stairs issues. He will now stop part way up or down and not freak out. He does this on my direction but is now sometimes doing it on his own.
APOLLO update I see many have asked how he is doing but Casino may have missed those queries.
I talked to Charlie around the holidays. He said Apollo was doing well. He is on the same diet that Cheri worked out for him. I think he was 5 years old last August. It couldn't be 6 years could it?
JULIE - Wow! on you Lithgow pitcher. It was great to see it jump at the end. Tried to post that night too, and then the computer froze for the umpteenth time. LOL
LLUDWIG - Keep those quizzes and stories coming. Enjoy them all. Good thing you figured out about the book sale before you went.
FURTIMA - Are you going to show us some of your new paintings? Hey, did you happen to "CSI NY" That dealt with counterfeit drugs, pill hardeners, mag, stearate? Thought of your funny batch and the ones I have had that are funny. Interesting to see it highlighted in a show as most people have no clue that there can be any problems with their RX's or OTC drugs.
GORDON - Would be nice if you put some still shots up once and a while. I did see the van and the rock. Scary about them falling/jumping down the hill into the water and the Mastiff. Dealt with a HUGE St. Bernard and my Penny (before Teddy) once. No one hurt but it could have been bad.
GAIL - Were you one who got a horribly packed bowl set that was smashed? I felt so bad for you. Some one else got one about the same time from same seller, I think. Hate the loss of the irreplaceable antique items.
I used to collect metal horse bookends. Set came box with a few crumpled wads of news paper and one was just about folded in half from being slammed around in box. Vintage too. Never saw another just like them.
BOB - Congratulations on your upcoming retirement.
CASINO - Good thoughts for Pat. About Jake's "60 Minute" interview. I taped it. My sister taped it, as a back up, but she wiped hers out because she forgot I needed it. I picked up my tape to go watch and MY tape vanished between the upstairs and downstairs VCRs. UGH.
It has to be here somewhere....but where. I did see the previews that were on in the morning. He looked great.Well folks, this is way too much sitting and typing for me. I'll be reading.
