Fran2--I agree with Carma on this. People might THINK they've put in their max bid, but many will go higher if they see they've been outbid. If I have several similar items or pieces of a dish set, I end them 2 minutes apart. of course either way will work if the people want it, but my way gets people thinking "Well I lost those 2, I'm darn well going to get this one."
