We didn't have them very often and I can't even remember what they tasted like. We would always spend our summer holidays at the beach. Mum and Dad always fished and we lived on fresh fish, crabs etc. I would say that maybe once in a while there were no fish, so Mum had to resort to us eating periwinkles LOL The rocks were covered in them. Or maybe she just wanted to give them a try
