Irene: I looked at your pitcher and I believe your pitcher is part of what is known as a Waffle Set. A set would have consisted of an 8 ounce batter pitcher, a 4 ounce syrup pitcher and a matching tray for the pitchers to sit on. These sets were made of ivory colored earthenware in a ribbed pattern, with various raised floral decorations. Some waffle sets would also include a cream pitcher.
Creamware is usually English, I think (I could be wrong, I don't know much about non-USA dinnerware) but since your pitcher is MIJ, then I don't think it can be considered creamware.
