Well, found a box on the top shelf back in the corner of the closet I thought I was done with. It was full of coffee mugs wrapped in paper. I noticed some of the paper was ripped in tiny shreds here and there...as I emptied the box, putting the cups in sink to wash, i got to the last cup and there, you may have already guessed, tucked in between the cup and box was a MOUSE NEST! OMG! Threw out the box, that last cup and hopefully the mouse and all his/her nesting materials!!! Turns out there's a "door" in the ceiling of the closet that goes to the attic space and the door was not closed properly. All my years here, never noticed that before. It's closed tight now!
