Good Day Glassies ~! Wonderful storms flew thru yesterday evening and cooled things down nicely last night, so nicely that it was lovely cool this morning so I spent the last three hours cleaning out/organizing the bedroom closet. I (re)discovered my "treasure trove" of vintage linens and filled two plastic bins with them and still have left overs. I had no idea I had so many old tableclothes!
Now it's up to 80 in here so time to sit and sip cool water.
@oklahomasong - Wish for you there were something there known as ”cool air” in the night! My window a/c makes a lot of noise too and it's a relief to turn it off at night.
I looked at a new apartment complex yesterday. I'm so ready to move out of this place. It was nice 8 years ago but a new landlord, tho a really nice guy, is very lackadaisical about repairs. He does them, but only after hounding him a while. And then he doesn't do them right. Like the new bathroom faucet he put in. The old one had a up/down plug thingie on it. The new one doesn't (because it cost a couple dollars less) so now everything falls down the drain. Or like the time he came to paint the outside, without warning one day, super paint sprayer in hand, he painted over windows, doors, outside furniture, etc! He used to mow and then weed-whack, but now he doesn't weed-whack anymore and weeds grow around the base of the porch, light poles, steps, fence, etc. He used to clean up trash in the yard, now he just mows it and leaves the scattered trash where it lies.
So, I looked at a 55+ apt condo-like complex yesterday. And boy, it was depressing! Nice looking place, just built this year and the apts themselves are darling, all modern appliances included, central air, nice quiet area away from highways, ponds and walking paths on the grounds. BUT, there are emergency pull cords in the bathroom and railings along the common area hallways and a common dining room - like a nursing home! Oh, lordy, I am not yet THAT old!
