Morning, oops guess it is afternoon, late afternoon - Typing with one eye. Can you believe it ....I fell again. That is three times in a week and a half. Ugh. Feet did their drop thing and I was not paying attention to them they caught and boom. They had been been pretty good so had been walking more normally.
Landed full forces on my forehead on my wood pallets. Huge goose egg. I actually broke down and called someone. A friend who is one step below EMT came to see if eyes were reactive. I could see they were equal but not the reaction part. I had figured since swelling was outside the skull I was probably safe from close head injury BUT...
She made me call nurse direct line and they put me through to the on call provider. That friend made me set alarm to phone her at two AM as a precaution. I did not want to sleep at her house.
Another friend was going to make me talk to her all night till I figured out what she was doing. Told her of the plan of 2 AM phone call and gave her #s to call if she was concerned. It is nice to have friends watching out for you.
Been icing and putting DMSO on it. Swelling went down dramatically and bruising is staying down too thanks to the DMSO.
This morning swelling had shifted lower and eye was swollen shut. Just now checked and swelling is moving downward.

Back to plan "A where I will literally watch every step when I go feed. If it's not one thing it's another. Keeping sense of humor.

If you get grossed out by little scrapes then don't look. If you find bumps and bruisies kind of fascinating and can tell the story behind each scar that you proudly bear then go for it.
Not the best picture of me though. LOL It did hurt like a mother, at first, but it really does not hurt now, unless it take a direct bump.

Want to thank you all for the WONDERFUL info and links about the glowy and vaseline glass. I read some before feeding yesterday. Love the one site that has comparisons in different lighting conditions. May learn to recognize good glass yet. The rest will have to wait till I have both eyes back.

MARTY - beautiful tree. My Daffy leaves are up about 5- 6 inches/ They usually do not even appear till mid to late April up here. Ice is almost gone from barn area. We often still have ice on Memorial Day. Two years ago we did not get tree leaf out till June. Normal is mid to late May. Wonder when we will get it this year.
