Dear Glass Chatroom board members,

I am so sorry to inform you that my mother, Irene, passed away Aug. 2.
She so loved having you to check in on and chat with. She often updated me on the conversations she had with you. She appreciated all the times you helped her identify pieces of glass that she had or that I found at garage sales and estate sales.
I am so sorry that I did not inform you sooner.

She was home and getting along pretty well. Her final stay in the hospital was only about 6 hours.

Having trouble printing a shipping label on ebay. The print is much too small & the sizeing thingamjig does not seem to work today. How do I open the window on the "print a label page" so I can make print larger?

Julie, are tea sets popular in Australia? You have some beautiful pictures of tea sets.
I have a few china tea pots that I collected years ago. Also have a pewter one. Wonder how pewter goes over these days? Probably not very well.

Today, I noticed some tiny black specks, about the size of pepper, on a piece of antique clear glass. I never noticed it before but it's been in storage for many years. Today, I washed it in soap suds and rinsed... spots still there.. then tried 1 tablespoon in enough water to cover the top of vase (turned upside down in a bowl) now I am trying vinegar water. I have used a soft scrubby after each soaking except this one that is still soaking. I am getting nowhere. I can't think what caused the tiny black specks. About a month ago, I fastened some bubble wrap around the vase & fastened it with scotch tape & stored it in a cardboard box in the spare room. I did not notice the spots when I re-wrapped it a month ago in bubble wrap & scotch tape around the top and bottom to fasten it.. Before that I had it wrapped in newspaper. I wonder if the scotch tape caused it?

So what do you think caused the tiny black specks and how do I get rid of them. Thanks for any help.

don't feel bad about 3 shots in the eye. My DH, Jack, has had a dozen shots in the eyeball so far .

I held his hand the first few times but he has been on his own after that.

Had Thanksgiving dinner today so we are all set to sit back and relax on Thanksgiving Day.

Also have the bright sunshine. May leave the patio furniture out for a bit longer this year.

Need info on Carnival Glass/

An 8 1/2" bowl --wavy edge and like little pleats decoration on edge.-- flat bottom,-- marigold color, 2 tulips and leaves form a kind of wreath. What is the pattern name? is this a fruit bowl? about how much is it worth, Ball park figure. It's an auction. Is it an unusual piece. Haven't seen this pattern before. Sale starts at noon and I need to know pretty soon. thanks

Shelly, you night want to try the "poor man's dip". Mother made a white sauce, added sugar to taste & cinnamon. Serve it warm over strawberry shortcake made with homemade biscuits. Very good.

She also made creamed peas in individual pastry cups that would melt in your mouth.
She was a wonderful cook & she and my dad had a restaurant.

Has anyone used "Poor man's dip" on strawberry shortcake?

Another item got my attention but it went in the hundreds and I did not bid because it was too expensive for me and not really the type of thing I'm interested in; but a relative is.

Anyone familiar with a book by SIDDUR AUODAT Israel Book. It's in a decorative case, gold color with an aqua stone in each corner. It measures 3.75" x 3".
Has English translations.
Any idea of value? It has a bit of roughness on corners (inside book' pages & a bit wrinkled but overall very nice condition.

It's coming up for auction tomorrow & I might bid on it if I can find out about it.

Shelly, the bowl measures 9- 7/8 diameter and 3- 1/2" tallest point. It's purple.

Carl, we did hold it up to light. Must be purple (amethyst)

It's a beauty even if it is a repro from the 1960s or 1970s

This is a Carnival Glass bowl in the Barnyard Pattern. It's is a very dark color. I'm wondering what is the proper color name for this bowl by MIMI? It has what I think is called neon luminescence.
It measures 8 3/4" diameter. Thanks for any help

It appears to have deep blue, amethyst, gold etc.

Gail, it's that time of year.... cuddle up with a cup of something warm and kick back and enjoy.
I've been posting a few things but would rather be doing something else.

Most of what I'm working on right now is glass. I have a mini clear glass center handle server with gold around the outer edge. I have it marked Potomac. Have no idea where I found that info. May have to search out my notes. Will have to have a nap first. It's that kind of day.

I am the seller. It says vase is sold and something about a private group. Guess I'll wait and see if I hear from someone. Something else. It's been a long time since I signed up on Fenton group and somehow it moved and is different now. Thanks for tying to help.

I need a Facebook refresher course. If something sold and I got no message from buyer what do I do? I don't see any mention ion the board of a buyer's name. Maybe I forget how to get the private mail? What's up?

The package I mailed Nov. 23, 2015 from Springfield, Ohio to Seattle, Wash. was marked as going to USPS ORIGIN FACILITY in Cincinnati, Ohio. And is still there according to tracking.
If it does not get to Seattle in time for Xmas, I've lost a sale.

Why did it not go to Seattle? It's been nearly a month!

JimL, I have the feeling we will get hit hard in a week or so. This weather is too good to be true. It's been a big savings on fuel so far, so a littlemore money for Christmas gifts. Salvation Army here says donations are dowm. One woman gave a gold coin wrapped in a $100. bill. Some people must have it, right?

Also, an over sized Pearl ring surrounded with diamonds turned up and Police are looking for the right owner. Hope they find her.

Meanwhile..... ho. ho!

p.s. a package we mailed Nov. 23, 2015 is still floating around the Post Office circuit. The buyer in Seattle has been so nice about it. We hope it gets to him before Christmas!
