The first one has some pretty but not too expensive Carnival Glass. Second one is still all boxed up as they had the house painted so really not much clue of what is there

We have several great Italian places near us that we love. On is a Mother who does all the cooking while her 2 daughters serve. Yum. The other is also a family place and the wife makes homemade cheesecake that is to die for.

Now a sort of glass question. The estate Im working on has a gorgeous Meridian silver cruet set with ruby glass bottles. Problem is the silver has been re-plated and looks like brand new, how badly does that affect the value?

Her "kids" opened all the bins and put it on tables.I am pricing it myself as my crew is not as knowledgeable but there is a lot of Cranberry I am not sure of.

My cousin was also in a Kibbutz in the Golan Heights wen he graduated high school, Moved back here in the 90s so his sons would not have to serve in the army.

Shelly, we have not been to Disneyland in about 5 years. Once in awhile go into the free part where the restaurants are fro dinner. Guess when our 2 Grandsons come down to visit from Montana next year I will bite the bullet and take them.

I am not sure about posting pictures here but will try for a psychic id on a set of clear glass bowls I have in the estate sale I am working on right now
They are mixing bowls and graduate in size from normal down to almost a salt cellar size, I didn't count but guess there are 7 or 8 graduated bowls, the mark is like an anchor with an h but nothing like these in my Anchor Hocking book and have never seen a set like this before

Don, it sure does sound like your school administration could have planned better but not surprising.

We have been busy with other things, last month my DH had a hip replacement which kind of took up 3 weeks, in addition we are just finishing up a major remodel of our master bathroom. No glass hunting for a little while

Thanks Gail. He is doing so well with this that he may get his bad knee done too. Never thought he would come home the day after surgery. He has always said no knee surgery but having the hip pain totally gone really is changing his mind. He has been joking saying when he turned 70 his warranty ran out, LOL

Were you able to buy at the show or only drool over all the pretties? I sure miss the shows that use to be out here.

Today and the past week have been very stressful, my DH had a hip replacement today, thank goodness he is doing great, They already have him up and walking, no pain. But the last week when he was off of all meds, I was constantly jumping up to fetch for him he could barely walk. Isn't getting older fun. NOT

Carl sorry about your day getting off to a bad start but I have to stand up for us Wives. What you mentioned about the hardware problems and chaining her to the car I take issue with, LOL In our family I am the Home Depot, Lowes expert and take care of all of those kind of things. I need to chain my DH ups, he is clueless and at DIY things inept.
I have not mentioned it but we are in the midst of a total remodel of our master bath, not a diy project though, a total tear back to the walls and make brand new. Guess who is in charge of dealing with the contractor, picking places where things will go, etch You got it, Me. LOL

Sorry to hear about Mary Pat. I also was part of that group but only for 1 day so am not in that picture.

We are also sad the Betty is not feeling up to her normal bubbly self, we hope she will bounce back.

Shelly, like Gail said that hood ornament is being discussed to death on facebook. The gal that appraised it was wrong to say sun purple was worth more. Another Lalique expert chime in and said $2000 either clear or purpled is the value.

Gail, don't give up hope of feeling normal again. I am a 7 year survivor now and can say I feel normal, just 7 years older, LOL The only thing that does happen for awhile is questioning every ache and pain.

Gail, you have gotten great advise. 2 1/2 hours is quick. When I went through it my Chemo sessions were 6 hours every third week. and 1 hour infusions of Herceptin every week for a year. I took my Iphone (no ipad then) books, water, nibbles and occasionally also fell asleep. You might need a sweater but the chemo center usually has blankets. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Im sure you will do fine.

I have not been here for so long took a while to read and sort of catch up

Gail, my best wishes and prayers are with you for a positive outcome to the diagnosis and no spreading.. We want you to join our Survivors club.
I had one of those chemical stress tests last year, awful and when they made me sign the consent that said I could die during the test, I almost told them what they could do with it. I have no heart problems but do have Afib so I guess that is why he wanted to check.

After last nights shake, I am rethinking why I love glass. Luckily everything only shook but nothing broke. Of course one of the earthquake experts at cal tech said last nights quake may just be a precursor to a larger one.

George, we feel the same. One of our grandsons is in the school music program and we went to the holiday program so he could play the drums for about 2 minutes, LOL. Of course the school is a block from our house so its easy.

I used to collect Handpainted Nippon and do have a Vase pictured in the book and semi valuable but it seems like Nippon has dropped so much in price I have held onto it.

When we took the lot of Fenton and other Fairy lamps on consignment to sell the sweet gentleman that they belonged to also gave me all of his Fenton books so I think I have everyone printed, LOL

I too started selling her early I think 1998. Stuff sold like crazy as there was so much less.
Shelly, the ebay and paypal fees are still cheaper that having a mall space. I pay $200 a month whether I sell anything or not and them if something sells it is an additional 13% to the mall.

I collect Rosepoint and Chantilly but here is more information about both patterns. Wallace sterling company also made a Rosepoint patten to match the glass and Gorham Sterling also made Chantilly to match that pattern (I have service for 12 in that sterling) LOL

Gail, I can tell you a real quick way to clear out unwanted or un used stuff. We are working on an Estate Sale right now and the lady is a hoarder. I come home and dump stuff regularly, LOL

Bob and Sara, I also have had a Ruby Lane shop since 2008. I am having a problem navigating their new shop but when I have more time will figure it out. Stuff does sell good there especially if you try to constantly add things. Every time I add something something sells sells. I think it moves the search around. Much better prices than ebay and no hassle.

Gail, I personally hate chrome. My daughter put it on our shop computers and couldn't upload pictures to craigslist. When our computer guy suggested changing browsers, she argued it was the computers problem but the minute she changed to Firefox, voila the pictures uploaded fine

Good Morning, We have been harvesting tomatoes for several weeks now. Delicious sliced with sliced sweet onion, fresh mozzarella and avocado drizzled with balsamic, yum.
We also have lemon cucumbers which my DH and Grandsons like, me not so much. Bob can you send some lettuce here, LOL

I have been on RL for several years and like it better for the higher end items. No FV fees at all and reasonable to list stuff, sometimes free. Overall I think their charges are less than ebay with better exposure. Also no or very few problem buyers. Lainey

If we are telling tales on ourselves here is one. Not sure how old we were but I have a sister 3 years younger who was annoying as a little child. I was riding my bike and she had skates on. We put a rope on the back of the bike so I could pull her. Not sure if it was an accident or accidentally on purpose but I made a quick turn and like crack the whip, she went into the closed garage door, LOL Lets say we are both in our 60's and to this day she still reminds me of this

I just wanted all our glass board to know that our dear friend Betty (sjell) had a fall a week ago Friday and broke her shoulder. She is in pain but being cared for by her dear son with help from a visiting nurse. Poor lady has been through so much all our love is being sent.

A couple of years ago I listed some Fostoria American that I had bought a whole set of, a local collector/seller of it purchased some. I took the chance to have him pick it up at my house and he ended up buying several hundred dollars more of it that I hadn't listed yet. I have never had a problem with the few home pickups I did.
