• George, I agree on the Kemple piece. Haven't found that exact tec pattern yet though. Thank you! πŸ™‚
Gail, I've checked ALL my glass books and still can't find that exact pattern...like that's anything new though...lolz Thanks for looking!
NancyJean, I didn't see any exact Jenkins patterns, either...but I don't have any books on them. But thanks for the lead!

  • Howdy, Glassies! Our "Indian Summer" has been with us for the past week. We've had the most beautiful weather and the fall colors are rapidly reaching their peak. Soooo pretty...it's hard to work!!! But working I am and I need your help again on a few pieces. Anyone know the pattern on these?

I posted for ID, it has been identified as made by the Clevenger Glassworks of South Jersey. There's a nice example on ebay of this same bottle but in amethyst. I loves it! πŸ™‚ Hope everyone is having an awesome day! Thanks for your help!

  • Howdy, Glassies! I've been out of the loop for almost a week. My oldest boy came to visit and brought dreadful germs with him. I've haven't been sick in 5 years and I'm a terrible patient. Dealing with my Dad's Alzheimer's and cancer has beat me down emotionally, and I know it opened the door to me being sick. For me, high stress levels = sickness. I am trying to focus on the silver lining and be only appreciative and loving in my thoughts in regards to him. But sometimes....it's just damned hard to do. On the upside, my first grand-daughter is due to make her worldwide appearance any day now and is the impetus for me getting better soon. I can't visit with her sick, now can I? πŸ™‚ I'm so excited and I can't wait to meet her! Wish I could stay and visit with you all and get caught up, but for now, it's photography time (and cold outside!). Ebay sales still suck, but the only thing for it, is to list more stuff. So I wish you all a lovely, lovely day and I hope you all have a reason to smile!
    Shari

  • Thanks, Gail! That's one book I don't have and I appreciate the info. I've seen this type of diamond pattern called "English Hobnail" before; just had never seen pieces with this petal-type foot.

Reen πŸ™‚ I loves those Art pieces. And that last one is a pretty too, but I have no idea who made it. Thanks for sharing!

Ok...made a few dollars tonight, paid eBay, the cable and electric, so it looks like I can do this another month at least. Thank God for being busy though...it helps me not think about all the other crap going on my life right now. ~sigh~ I'm gonna hop on the xbox and kill people on Bad Company. I'm terrible at it, but it always makes me feel better anyway. I hope everyone is happy today or at least has a reason to smile. Night all!
    Shari

  • Reen I'm sure no one minds looking at photos of beautiful glass! I sure don't! The more the merrier!
Here's another piece I can't find. It has a petal foot. Anyone know it?
    http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/Faeowyn39/Amber_Diamond_Point_Vase-1.JPG
    Shari

  • Reen also just noticed the two pieces on the top shelf that are also Art. Lovely! Would you show more of that shelf please?
    Shari

  • Yay! I figured out how to do my avatar. It's my Becky Brown owl person and it is a reminder to stop and smell the flowers πŸ™‚
I submitted my dog head toothpick to Greentown Glass in the hopes that they can tell me definitively whether it's theirs or not. Free ID on their pieces and they'll even throw in a free estimate as well. Fingers crossed it is!
Bill my what beautiful glass you have! Congrats on your great sales!
Reen that covered jar you have in your group shot of glass (left side) is EAPG and called "Art" or "Jacob's Tears" made by Adams & Co. circa 1889 and US Glass in 1891. There were three jars made: a hotel and table covered sugar and a biscuit jar. The biscuit jar is the larger one, but unfortunately, my book doesn't give the sizes, but does show them next to each other. They were made in clear and clear w/ruby stain. Ruby stained pieces were made later, so are all attributed to US Glass. I too have an "Art" jar and just adore the pattern. It's also one of the EAPG patterns that hasn't been widely reproduced, so the only chance you have of getting a reproduction is currently limited to a covered compote on a high standard.

  • I've had my fill of auction writing. It will all be here waiting for me tomorrow and I'll still be working to pay eBay fees. Re Worthlesspoint...need I say more? I am, however, a big fan of Priceminer (for the money) and I also use Terapeak, but I'm questioning if it's worth it. πŸ™‚ Hope everyone has a lovely evening or day, as the case may be. I went ahead and listed the amethyst bottle, amber daisy button bottle and crystal candlestick, but if anyone has info on the Bee dish or froggy vase I posted, I'm still looking. Good Night all! Shari

  • Morning, glassies!
Bob in Ky I thought yours looked familiar to me, so I rifled through my stuff. I have the lid only and mine is in milk glass with a red head and it's very thick and heavy and the details are very sharp & defined. (I'll try to get a photo posted.) I did an eBay search on "hen on nest with chick" and got this auction 260839171519 for a blue one which claims it's an unmarked L.E.Smith piece & the details don't look as clearly defined. There are two more listed, with no attribution to the makers, one of which is heavy milk glass 150434154981 like mine, sans the red head. Oddly enough, these look exactly like the Staffordshire HONs. I also know that Challinor Taylor had a Dominecker HON similar in style to ours.

    Shari

  • Gail ~hugs~ I'd never kick anyone, especially you! Oddly enough, between posting here and checking ebay, the buyer did write me back. In response to my simple inquiry as to why he didn't contact us if he had a problem, he wrote, "Because i can`t understand, why you lie in item description? you prefer to sell bad items and then try to make it right?" and I simply wrote him back and pointed out to him that our return policy was simple: If we are wrong, we issue a full refund, including return shipping or if the item was damaged, we'd file a claim (yes, we insure EVERYTHING) and he'd still get a full refund. We DON'T offer 'partial cash back' as either it's right or it isn't, so that sorta negates his claim, doesn't it? πŸ™‚ The universe is testing me...and so I'm not going upstream with this...instead I'm focusing on all the happy customers we have instead and being the best seller I can. That's feels like a much better thought, yeah? But it sure is interesting to note that in just a short span of time here on the chat boards we got the perspective of both the buyer and the seller in this regard.

  • Good morning, glassies!

Happy Birthday, Jim D! I hope you have an amazing birthday!

A rather cool start to the morning and it sure feels like fall, because I had to turn on the heat. Going to try to head over to Ellettsville today and check out their fall festival. My daughter suggested they will have wonderlicious street food & an array of arts & crafts vendors, so it sounds like a fun venture...and I could never say to no to street food πŸ™‚ Re the negative feedback: I'm over it. I was upset that he didn't communicate with us at all, but I have no control over what others do...I only have control over how I think & feel about it. I contacted him yesterday, and today I left him a simple feedback: "If you had a problem, why didn't you contact us? We'd have made it right" so I've done what I can and let it go. ~sigh~ Wooooosaaaaa :0

Gail Thanks for having a look at my stuff πŸ™‚ I really appreciate the help. On my hobnail toothpick...oddly enough, I saw some similar to it yesterday when I was researching St. Clair Glass stuff. Auction 370511227548 shows one of Bob St. Clair's pieces with the same style, minus the hobnail on the body, so I'm wondering if it doesn't belong to St. Clair Glass. In the mean time, here's another 2 pieces I haven't been able to ID.

Back to trying to write ads.
    Shari

  • Oh, heavens...speaking of negative feedback, we just got one. ~sigh~ Not even a squeak of a word from the buyer that there was even an issue after he had it a whole month. I've contacted him and asked why he didn't let us know there was a problem. Outside of that, there's no recourse and done is done. So what's a seller to do? Bend over...again...

  • I placed a call to St. Clair Glass and while I got confirmation that the sulphides were hand-painted in their studio, the older lady I spoke with was not terribly happy to help and didn’t know who the initials ”J G” or ”G J” belonged to. She said, ”Joe might, but I don’t.” End of conversation :\ The first one is on a mouse, the other two are on owls. Another set of initials, on a small cat, perhaps meant for a marble (not shown in my photos), are ”R N”.

After further research, we found that the sender of the package has an auction service in Anderson, Indiana and just held an auction back in March with numerous St. Clair pieces. My next thought is to contact him, though the postage date on the box dates back to 1990. The real question is, are they even worth the time, trouble and money I’ve already spent on them?
    Shari

  • OK, so here's a few more and I'm sorry for posting so many at once, but the time I have to actually be doing anything but writing auctions ads is -3 days...so πŸ™‚
4 mold marks. Maker or pattern? I presume it's a honey dish.

    http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/Faeowyn39/Honey_Bee_Jar_bee.JPG
Pattern is obviously daisy & button on this vase / bottle, but pontil on the bottom shows it's blown...who made it?

    http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/Faeowyn39/Amber_Daisy_Button_Bottle_cl.JPG
Never seen exactly this bumpy style rim on a hobnail toothpick.
    http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/Faeowyn39/Amber_Hobnail_Toothpick-8.JPG
    Lovely candlestick; pontil; no mark

    http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/Faeowyn39/Tall_Blown_Crystal_Candlestick-2.JPG
These aren't glass...but the auctioneer said, "...these were sulphides for paperweights and came straight from the factory..." I never heard 'what factory'....Last photo shows an impression on the back of the caduceus piece that nearest we can make out says, "Vent tray". The box they came in shows they were shipped from an address in Anderson, Indiana. Anderson is just south-east of Elwood, Indiana and St. Clair Glass. So I'm wondering if these aren't the sulphides used in their paperweights πŸ™‚

  • Hi, Kids! Hope everyone is having a lovely day πŸ™‚
Bob, congrats on a great sale! What a lovely bowl!
I have a few pieces for ID, but I'll try posting a picture first to make sure I got it right....
Here's a vase that makes me think of Fran every time I look at it, because to me, it looks like hugging frogs.

  • Yup, I'm the same Shari / The Treasure Port πŸ™‚
Nice to meet u, JimD! Yes, very competitive.
Looking forward to getting to know u all. 4 now, back to work

  • Morning, Kids! So glad I found you guys here πŸ™‚ I don't know that anyone knows much about me, so a few facts...I'm 47, a widowed mom to 3 amazing kids & in another short month, a grandma. My late husband, Leo, was a farm machinery jockey& bought used farm machinery at auction for resale. We farmed 160 acres, had cattle, chickens, pigs...I had a greenhouse & a vegetable business for 15 years. I continued to operate the farm for two years after he passed but soon realized it would be the death of me as well, so I sold it & I moved the kids to Bloomington, Indiana to a better school. I needed a way to support us, so I used all that auction experience (from buying farm machinery) & started buying linens & making pillows then selling on eBay under the name Stuff-n-Things. My daughter (my oldest) has a masters degree (but still can't get a job in her field) & both my boys are still in college. I met my honey, Mr. Jon, when I sold him a toy truck on eBay. He asked for local pickup & the rest is history. He's my best friend, the love of my life & the packing department here at The Treasure Port. We're seriously contemplating opening a brick & mortar store because eBay & all the associated fees are eating us alive & I have no desire to work at a fast food place πŸ™‚ That's my life in a nutshell πŸ™‚
