In California a law has passed making it illegal for anyone eighteen or less to use tanning beds. Used to be that 14-17 could use them with parental permission.

I was a little concerned at my son's wedding reception when his uncle met his sister in law. Uncle was a dermatologist and sister-in-law owned a tanning salon.

Drugs are certainly a terrible problem. So many lives ruined when people think they can use just a little bit and not get hooked. A friend let her daughter use her 2007 Camry. The daughter let her friend drive it. The car has been impounded by the police for 30 days and it will cost approximately $2000 in storage fees to get the car back.

I have a beautiful mink stole but fur is frowned on now so I don't wear it. Maybe fur will become acceptable again. I could wear it while I sit at the computer!

A teen age boy was selling his truck. His father and a friend were with him while he was showing the truck to a pretty woman. The friend thought the woman was hot so he took a picture of her with his cell phone. On the basis of that picture a chop shop was shut down!

Our local post office has park-like lawns and ornate landscaping. There are always gardeners there working to keep it beautiful. Some money could be saved here.

I have a huge blocked bidders list and have never been asked by one of the people why they can't bid on my stuff. The worst was a woman who emailed me 17 times on New Years eve demanding that I pack 6 items in one box. Some items were breakable and big. I would have had to charge her extra for the price of a big box. I think she had been sipping too much egg nog!

Good morning from Oceanside CA. One of my neighbors died a few weeks ago and there will be an estate sale at her home. Tillie always wore fur when she attended our Peacock Hills luncheons. She was a fun lady. There will be rain so that will be a problem.

Frank is having cataract surgery on his other eye soon. I will not participate in EBAY for about 10 days while he stays with me.

Yesterday I mailed a 16 inch rosemaling plate in a box that was oversize. The clerk measured it but somehow I didn't get charged for oversize in spite of his entering the info several times. When I use the automatic machine I pay more. I told him I knew it was oversize.

We had a 10 hour power outage in much of California. The weather is lovely here so with windows open, we didn't need AC. Found the radio and several flash lights were helpful. Gas stations were unable to operate so people were calling for relatives to come and get them. I am tossing most of the stuff in my frig and freezer but where to shop. Maybe the stores had generators on. Maybe their food is no better than mine. My friend Frank has water all over his floor. He has an icemaker. Does anyone know if an icemaker would leak during a power outage? Our problems seem minor compared to the problems on the east coast.

One of my friends used to own an antique store. She closed it and moved most of the glass to her garage. Now she is selling everything at a local warehouse that is mostly left overs from estate sales. Wish I knew more about glass.
