Hi Glassies!
Had to stop in & say how much I enjoyed seeing JimD's pics. Just too cute for words. It was truly a different time - doubt you'd see that happen very often now.
Marty - Bear is a 2 tour Navy Vietnam vet. The unloved generation - till now. How cool to have a Navy uncle in "lighter than air" - last thing most would expect of the Navy.
Suzy - I always feel sorry for the "instant ancestors" in the malls & stores but can easily understand how they come to be. It's not always that nobody wants them, but that there IS nobody to want them. I have a 2nd cousin in his 80's & a year or so back I dug thru boxes of old photos to send him all those I could find of his mom. He has 2 sons that may want to retain that sort of family knowledge. I'm pretty much the end of the line for my family. My grandmother had 3 sisters. The youngest sister had no children, another had 1 boy (the 2nd cousin), the 3rd had a girl who never married. My granny had a boy & 2 girls. The son had a boy who never married, my aunt never had children & my mom only had me - who had no children.
I'm giving glass & china that belonged to my mom to my best friend from college's oldest daughter since that whole family loves glass & china & Selena Anne has a daughter that we hope will be like her mom, granny, ggm & gggm.
