My first car was a 48 Chevy. Straight six engine. it went really fast down hill with a tail wind. If lucky, I could pass a bicycle.
Don't remember gas prices because my girlfriend 's father owned a gas station. I don't remember ever buying gas. I never told anyone because I didn't want to lose her to another suitor Learned to drive on a farm at age 14 with a two ton truck. No traffic, no cops then, so we went where we wanted , with or without driver's licences.
