You dear sweet people...thank you so much for remembering me on my birthday. It's been eons since I've been here. Crazy busy past few years... I finally pledged on this birthday, I am definitely slowing down. Already given up a couple of commitments that just have wound up being too much physically and take up too much time. Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

Thanks to each and every one of you for the dear birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. Was in Tulsa all day. I had a doctor's appointment at the Cancer Institute, a big review of lab work and CT scan and everything came back just excellent. I remain cancer free. Everyone in the lab sang Happy Birthday to me as I was having blood drawn. Great fun. 🙂 I loved it. Today was my big SEVEN ZERO. Sending you all a big group ((((HUG)))) with a ton of "thank you's."

SHELLY.... had the right wrist done about 25 years ago. no problems. Fingers still a bit numb on this left hand so hope it clears up soon. Otherwise the healing is doing well.

Will have to make a trip to Arkansas for a relative's funeral. Several years of Alzheimer's so he is at peace now.

I was going to take some pictures of glass, but the battery is dead in the camera and I can't find the spare. It's a weird big flat square battery so I have to find the exact one. Think I'll have to clean out the desk drawers to ever locate it. 🙂

GEORGE ... glad you are doing ok. The weather reports for your area really sounded worrisome.

REEN ... sure hope your doggie is steadily recovering.

We finally finished our big Oktoberfest festival that the Church puts on annually after months of planning and work. It was very successful and we had perfect weather. Everyone is worn out and needs a weeks vacation.

I got stopped by the police Friday as my car tax decal had expired. Ai-yi-yi. I couldn't drive all weekend until I got to the tag agency to renew on Monday. Cost an additional $100 for the fine on top of the $150 to the City for the ticket.

Hello, glassies. Been so long since I've been here, but it just seems like there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done that needs to be done. I don't know that I do anymore than I ever have, it's just that I'm so doggone slooooowwww with what I do.

I stay very busy on the FB EAPGS page. I suppose I average about 5 hours a day easily... sometimes less, sometimes more, but it's gotten so big that there is always something to be done on it. It's not particularly user friendly so things take a lot more time than if we had a regularly word processing system on it. I love it though. I started it back 2 1/2 years ago when we had so many fewer members. I think of it as my baby, and can't pull myself away from it. It's been super working with Don too since he been working at raising this baby too.

It's very busy at our Church now as our huge annual fund-raiser Oktoberfest will be held on October 8. Lots of planning meetings and I'm doing a lot of the signs for the games and activities and wrapping the baskets of goods for the various Silent Auction items.

I spend a lot of time at the Senior Citizen center. Enjoy a lovely lunch there 5 days a week, and I love to play dominoes and pitch so I have a lot of fun.

I joined our Church choir too. I don't have a very grand voice but I can sing on key within my fairly small range...I'm a tenor they say.

Seems every time I turn around I'm seeing a different doctor for a 3-month checkup. They all seem pleased with my progress. Do believe I'm going to be having surgery for carpal tunnel in my wrist in the future, but have so much to be thankful and grateful for.

I crochet and watch Netflix non-stop. I'm such a tv junkie. Shame on me. 🙂

Hi to all glassies. We had a cool front move in last night which dropped our temperature down to the low 90s. Such a relief. Rained this afternoon so we are quite humid, but at least we aren't in the triple digits.

I've been selling nicely in Joplin which really pleases me since I restocked earlier this month. This really encourages me to get busy and get some more things ready for the mall. I also took a few things down to our local mall, but haven't checked on sales.

Our county fair starts tomorrow and I will be helping out late afternoon/evening Wednesday and Friday...possible Thursday too if I get back from a doctor's appointment in Tulsa on time.

Hi, glassies. My word, we are just sweltering. Heat index yesterday was 111....today it is 114. Dewpoint yesterday was 74...don't know what it is today.

I was glad that I got to Joplin last week and took some glass to my booth. Also got some glass to my booth at our local mall. I'm actually starting to see a bit a empty space on my dining room table.

Ruby Lane is having a 30% Red tag sale so I put some things on sale. Only sold one thing so far, but the day isn't over yet. 🙂

I need to take photos and put some stuff in Ruby Lane but the thermometer in the garage where the photo stuff is all set up is 110. I'm going to go sit in my recliner with the window a/c aimed at me along with 2 small fans. Time to turn on netflix and pick up the crochet hooks. 🙂

The mug no longer has a handle attached to it but the cat is OK which is more important.

Good evening, glassies. Well, the day passed and I didn't get any closer to my dining room table. I was just snuggling in with Netflix and my crochet when my friend, Johnnie, called and said she didn't have to work tomorrow and would love to go to Joplin if I had any of my stuff ready to go. I admitted I had NOTHING ready to go, but even empty-handed I could enjoy tootling down I-44 to Joplin. But after we talked, I got busy, looked the dining room squarely in the eye and spent the next 2 hours tagging stuff. It was sure hard to say goodbye to some of the stuff but I made myself wrap it up and stuff it in the tote. You still can't see the top of the table but I got a may a quarter of the stuff removed. Baby steps. 🙂

Now I just have to make sure that I don't go buy a bunch of stuff to bring home with me. ... well, if I DO buy anything at least I have to make certain I don't set it on the dining room table.

Good evening, glassies. Don't know how the time passes so quickly. I stay busy on the FB page, but lots seems to be going on all around me. Busy with my little dog Mr. Rocky. He's been fine for the past 6 weeks and then had a cluster of 4 days of experience a seizure or 2 or 3 in a day. Have been out to the vets and gotten blood work and we are trying a new medicine. He did well today.

We've had horrendously hot weather for quite a time with high humidity. I need to get up to Joplin but just couldn't muster the energy to tag stuff this week for the mall...or to drive there and back. Spending most my time sitting in front of fans and drinking ice water. 🙂

SHELLY.... well, on second thought, maybe a new photo of it right side up would be helpful. I tried rotating it but it doesn't work as well as I hoped.

SHELLY .... busy busy busy working on the FB forum. I would love for you to post the 2 photos of your stand as we do not have that pattern listed in our files yet. With these stands, the flat unruffled small area is always where the bowl sets in. You will find it sets in securely. The larger part of the stand has to be on the table. It doesn't matter if it is ruffled...the points of it will all be balanced and will hold it quite steady. The large portion keeps everything in balance. If you turned it upside down and had the small portion on the table, then it would be more like trying to balance an ice cream cone on its point... it would be unbalanced and come crashing down.

SHELLY ,.. just wanted you to know you have your stand upside down. It is not for the punch bowl but for what they called their Crimped Fruit Bowl. It was made by Imperial Glass Co., ca. 1909. They did not give it a name, only a number. It is IMPERIAL No. 404.

Good evening, glassies. Been sitting at this computer most of the day working on the Facebook photo albums. Much to my chagrin, I manage to lose nearly 100 photos. They are now swirling around somewhere in cyberspace. Tomorrow I will go on a search for all my little lost sheep. Til then I thought I'd rather come in here and say HI and then settle into the recliner for some quiet time.

I have a window a/c unit on and 5 fans! Heat index was between 105-109 today. I did take time early afternoon to sit down and brush my two cats. The poor things are just thick with shedding. I've been brushing about every other day this past week but they could still stand for more. Also got my dog, Sugar, brushed last night. I'm having to run my little vacuum nearly each day to pick up all the pet hair.

IRENE M ... I love using the image wizard. So much easier then when so many of us were stumbling over Tiny Pics. Beautiful bowl.

JANICE ... maybe a toothache from the cake, but oh my, every crumb was delicious!

Waving to George, Julie, Carl, Fenton, Nancy P., and Katie

I'm a little behind in checking in, but I don't know where the time goes. Sis and I had to take a friend to the ER. She's 80 with high blood pressure so they got her all settled and keeping her overnight. I'm sure she will be fine tomorrow. Then this evening I went to a little political gathering where the candidates for Sheriff, County Commissioner, and State Senate, gave talks and answered questions.

I was ready to turn in at 8:30 but came over to shut down the computer and got involved with glass again on Facebook. Once I start looking at glass, the time can just blow past me. Here it is an hour and a half later and I'm just shaking my head trying to figure out how that much time passed in just 15 minutes. My eyes are crossing so I'll have to read the board in the morning. WIshing everyone a very good night and restful sleep.

Good morning, glassies. Sweltering here in NE Oklahoma the past 3 days. Heat index between 110 and 118. It was already 103 at 8:00 am this morning.

JULIE ... it's so wonderful that you are able to pare down your closets. I look around my house and I don't need 9/10 of the "stuff" I have, but I look at it and I just can't seem to tag it to get it out of the house. I just look at it and mumble and kind of scoot it around the table top or the shelf or the floor or under the bed and say "I'll think about it tomorrow." Definitely hoarder mentality on my part.

SHELLY ... the problem with getting my dog to take his medicine is we can't pry his mouth open! He's a little do, a Shih Tzu, but has the strength of a pit bull in his jaw. But my sister finally solved the problem this week. Vienna Sausages! I grind up the medicine and stuff it in the sausages. He gets so excited and gobbles it up.

REEN ... sure hope your medicine is starting to get things under control for you. Sorry to learn of your second trip to the hospital.

WENDY ... I can surely appreciate how time can fly past us. Sorry you are still in such pain. Are you having any time to crochet?

Hello to Nancy P, Irene M, Katie, Fenton, George, and Carl.

Good evening, glassies. We're going through a hot humid time. I have an a/c unit and plenty of fans so I'm comfortable in the house.

CARL ... I'm so very sorry to read about your nephew. Sounds like a fascinating person and extra difficult when a passing is so unexpectedl

GEORGE... I hope you and Anne really enjoyed the trip. I certainly loved the photos you posted on Facebook.

REEN ... Surely hope you are doing better and the medicine is working to control the A-fib.

SHELLY ... I'm doing very well and getting around so much more. I still have some limitations but nothing of any consequence. Post pictures of the things you are trying to ID. It's always fun to see new things.

I've been busily crocheting a dog sweater for my Mr. Rocky. I tried nearly everything to get him to take his medicine and NOTHING worked. He's gotten 2 or 3 more hot spots he's been scratching badly. My sister brought over a can of Vienna sausages a couple of days ago and -- wonders of wonders -- I bury the powdered medicine in them and he's in heaven scarfing it down. The sweater, yes I'm keeping the a/c on cold, is so he can't keep on scratching the sore spots.

Went out to our big garden center this afternoon and got 2 baskets of bright pink hanging petunias for the front porch. Really perks things up.

MARSON ... we seem to be having the heat here too. In the 90s with heat index suppose to break 100 this weekend.

JULIE ... how was the Sports Carnival? I didn't catch any photos on FB.

DON ... Sure hope you continue to have good weather and are having great fun. I know it will all go by too quickly.

KATIE ... I hope you are still having a good positive recovery. Did you ever get to see an infectious disease doctor?

SHELLY ... I can surely hope I'm wrong, but I'm not thinking those tumblers are by Dunbar. I think they are newer than Dunbar. With those puffy rings around them they sure look alike, but I don't think Dunbar ever made them go straight up to a round cupped bowl. Think theirs tended to have a flare.

Gee the days got busy. I go to the Senior Citizen Center most days for lunch and usually play cards and work jig saw puzzles. I keep telling myself to go home and get some work done, but I have too much fun. 🙂 Each Wednesday night this month our Church is having "Jam Session in June" so I took my little xylophone and had fun playing OH Susannah ... WHen the Saints come marching home, ... etc.

Has anyone here watched that TV program Game of Thrones? I'm debating whether to stream it or not since it's a paid streaming and not free.

A couple of weeks ago I turned on my computer and there was an unknown screen telling my I could download Windows 10. I spent a lot of time trying to figure how to get out of it. All I could find for a while was "continue". When I finally was able to tell it I didn't want to download it, I then got a screen that said something like "Restoring previous version of Windows." Yikes! YIKES! What did they mean "restoring"...had they deleted it? Anyway the little spinning timer spun and spun and I wondered if it would ever end. I finally just shut the computer down. The next day I turned the computer back on and got the "restoring" thing still trying to work. I let it run forever so long and then finally had my computer back. Scared me out of my wits.

REEN ... sure hope you are doing better and healing faster each day.

Good evening, glassies. Had a nice lovely day here. A few sprinkles, but mainly blue sky with big white puffy clouds.

CARL ... makes my mouth water thinking of all the lovely home-grown vegetables, particularly the tomatoes.

SHELLY ... I put a new avatar on Facebook but it's really blurry and it cropped part of my hair in the picture which I wanted to show off. I'm going to have to try another pic. My hair is very short...but at least it is MY hair! 🙂

NANCY P .... glad everything turned out ok for the ceremonies. I was surprised to see I-95 closed for flooding even though it was way south, I just think of all of the East Coast when I hear I-95.

KATIE, JANICE, and REEN ... I'm so sorry you each are dealing with such painful health problems. I truly have you in my prayers.

GEORGE ... glad you got yourself back on the board! I love the picture of you and your sweet Penny, I have to get my Mr. Rocky to the vet and plan to call for an appointment tomorrow. He has a funny little dry cough. And he had 3 more seizures this month.

Good night to all....

JULIE ... yes, I guess winter will soon be on you as I had to turn on my air conditioner today. 🙂

SARA ... hope you had an enjoyable birthday. I keep a bundt chocolate cake frozen in my fridge and it's delightful to just go cut a slice or two periodically. It tastes yummy all icy cold.

KATIE ... sounds perfectly dreadful. Hope they get it diagnosed soon and properly treated.

CARL ... hope you will be able to enjoy at least one day of the holiday once your DW returns.

Had a very nice quiet day. Enjoyed just being with all my fur kids and taking it easy but feeling GOOD all day. Got a few things done about the house.

CARL .... sorry to hear of the plumbing issues. So very lucky to find someone who could come out to fix it though.

NANCY P ... I keep up with all your charitable walks on Facebook. You are a real marvel and it's so dear that you support so many,

IRENE M ... Do hope this finds you doing well. I've been gone for so long and have missed so much. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

KATIE ... I scrolled a bit and saw you are fighting Lymes? I'm so sorry and hope you are able to keep it under control.

MARSON ... too bad about the rain, but at least you aren't fighting snow. I always picture you with snow surrounding you. You have an awful lot of cold months up your way. 🙂

So glad to finally get back on the board and say hello to all my dear Glassie friends. I just got home from the hospital where they finished up what looks to be the last medical procedure for a good long while. Been a roller coaster ride and looks like we made it to the end of the ride! YEA!

Had little energy to spare the past year or so but wanted to keep my commitment of working on the EAPGS ID/photo project so that's where my focus was. But now, I'm beginning to be quite renewed and looking forward to getting active once again.

We've been in hot, humid, tornado weather here for the past few days and still have a weekend of possible threats. I plan to stay in the air conditioned house and just work on some of my glass for the first time in a long time. Really looking forward to it.
