<p>When you mentioned lamp manufacturers having attached match holders, I immediately thought of the Ripley Marriage Lamp.  My holder may have been part of something similar - but a LOT less rare!!!</p>
<p>Regarding the cruets, I still have the best one - at least IMO.  Will sell it sometime before Christmas, should make a nice present for someone.  I was able to purchase several pieces of nice art glass privately lately - but wasn't able to snag the Wheeling Peachblow Morgan vase I wanted.  I guess they're consigning it to a large art glass auction.  The English cameo glass mini rose bowl I currently have up is from the same estate.</p>

<p>Reen:  Thank you for looking.  No hole for hanging.  The top of the base is flat, so couldn't be an ash tray.  And if one tipped it upside down so it could functions as an ashtray, the matches would fall out.  Looks to me like maybe it sat in/on something else.</p>
